    Trials of Osiris is LIVE

This thread is for all general discussion, questions, thoughts, musings, wonderings, etc. for the Trials of Osiris.

    FAQ

    What is Trials of Osiris?

    • Trials of Osiris is the pinnacle PvP activity. Every Weekend, the best players compete in 3v3 Elimination for one goal: Go Flawless.

    • To start, head to Saint-14 in the Tower Hangar and buy one of the possible passages (see below).

    • To reach Flawless and get to the Lighthouse, you need to win 7 matches without losing one.

    • It uses Win Based Matchmaking, which means you'll face teams with a similar amount of wins on their card. Matches will get harder as you win more matches.

    • There is NO fireteam matchmaking. You need to team up yourself!

    • Power Level matters, however bonus power from the artifact is not enabled.

How Long do the Trials of Osiris last?

    • Event Starts: Every Friday at Daily Reset (1700 UTC).

    • Event Ends: Following Tuesday at Weekly Reset (1700 UTC).

Where do I go to find Guardians to compete with in the Trials?

    • You can head over to /r/Fireteams, www.The100.io, Xbox LFG system, DestinyLFG.net or DestinyLFG.com, or go to the Bungie.net recruitment forum (also available through the Bungie App).

What if I have a question about another piece of armor/weapon or general Trials question?

    • Use Control + F (Or Command + F if on a Mac) and search for keywords in your question. Someone may have asked it already. If they haven't ask right below.

To the Trials players who persistently teabag, emote, and just generally create a toxic environment within Trials: You are the reason your mode is dying.

    Posted: 16 Jul 2021 06:00 PM PDT

The amount of toxicity I've faced just in first games alone as a Trials newcomer is just souring. Emotes, teabags, gun sprays, you name it.

And the trials veterans who do these things have the audacity to cry and whine that trials is dying. Seriously?

    Be better.

Anybody here play under the username Seabook and order a DSC raid jacket?

    Posted: 16 Jul 2021 10:54 AM PDT

I know this is a longshot, but I had a raid jacket mistakenly sent to my address. The address listed on the slip is correct, but the name isn't anyone that lives here. I've tried searching for the person with no luck, emailed the Bungie store with no response, and UPS refuses to take it back because it was delivered 'to the correct address' and said to either keep it or throw it out. The patch on the jacket reads 'Seabook', which I assume is a username but am not sure of the platform. If this belongs to any of you, send me a DM with the name on the packing slip and we can work out getting it to you!

EDIT: WE DID IT REDDIT! Thank you everyone that upvoted, commented, and shared this post. The jacket will be on its way to its rightful owner soon.

Don't know how impressive it is, but I just started playing 2 weeks ago and I managed to solo a Legendary Lost Sector at 1306 LL!

Honestly didn't think I'd be able to do this before the season was over because every time I attempted a legendary lost sector I got slapped by everything lol. But after learning some mechanics and upgrading a ton of gear I managed to pull it off! Wasn't pretty, but I'll take it 😁

Altars of Sorrow are underrated dumb fun and I love them

    Posted: 16 Jul 2021 02:03 AM PDT

Seriously. Why this pve horde mode never got more recognition? Because Bungie never updated it outside of unsunset gear? Solstice reminded me how nice it is to just go do this inconsequencial horde mode where you just slay thousands upon thousands of Hive, farming catalysts, triumphs and armor quests and then deal with a big baddie from previous content as a nightmare boss.

It is dumb fun. You can relax, farm kills, have a power fantasy of contanstly slaying big numbers of enemies and have a reward at the end. It takes a lot of time to just get one weapon drop, that is true and something which probably holds Altars back - they are unrewarding in loot area. But otherwise.. man I love Altars as a casual horde mode.

Okay, I'll say it. Events in the world-instances (EP, Blind Well, Altar of Sorrow) are better than matchmade activities.

    Posted: 16 Jul 2021 09:35 AM PDT

yes, I'm aware Menagerie is the outlier in my claim.

yes, I'm aware that these events had their flaws.

yes, I'm aware you're a D1 Alpha tester who has the recon helmet on their guardian.

In regards to Destiny's longest-argued dichotomy, I truly believe that the world-instances (is that even what they're referred too? IDK) better fit Destiny, compared to the recent matchmade activities. For starters, I never felt tempted by quests and bounties to participate in the events, whereas I'll occasionally start an Override because the vast convolution of bounties and what-have-you ask me too. Continuity is a key factor, too. Take the Seraph Towers in Season of the Worthy, for example. Hardcoded Victory was, without a doubt, the toughest triumph to complete for the Almighty Seal. Consequentially, this banded together at least six guardians in an instance, towards the latter half of the season (were we playing the same game? yes, we were.) Not only that, but guardians were grinding the activity for the 4Horseman catalyst, too. In regards to the Seraph Towers, the weapons weren't that great, either, so gear certainly wasn't the powerhouse behind that activity.

Yet the dynamic feels more enticing. Altar of Sorrow and Blind Well continue to be my favorite activities solely because of their respective enemies getting absolutely ass-blasted by supers and abilities. This might sound cheeky, but there's something to be said when upon completing the Sorrow's Bane triumph for Harbinger, every single guardian spams each other for invites to celebrate. Or rather, EP, when it was widely known to glitch the round 9 so defeating the boss only takes you two steps back, with treasure.

No, I'm not an elitist; I don't pour over memories of these activities, and allow nostalgia to fuel this post. In fact, I'd like to hear what you all think. If nothing else, consider this an appreciation post. I thought these activities rocked. That's why I still play them, 2+ years later.

I just turned in 30 solstice packages and got 2 solstice armor pieces

    Posted: 16 Jul 2021 02:10 PM PDT

Just change the event next year. Drop armor from EAZ runs, let us use the 'umbral' system on solstice packages... something.

"Solstice helmets are dropping in the EAZ this week if you kill at least 10 minibosses!"
"Solstice armor this week drops from the EAZ with a high recovery stat!"
"Complete these extra challenges to earn the white glow solstice armor as transmog!"\

Something besides 6-7 EAZ runs for 2 *random* armor pieces with *random* stat distributions.

Bungie Plz Addition: Legendary/Master Lost Sectors Should Always Give A (Non-Trivial) Award

u/KiplingSenpai: "Why it should be added: Completing a legend/master lost sector solo and getting nothing but 3000 glimmer or a single enhancement core as a drop for a platinum medal is one of the worst feelings (made even worse if you do it flawlessly) and makes for an extremely unrewarding experience (literally)"

    Examples given:

The effect you get from Stasis empowerment is so awesome it should be a Fragment/Aspect or an exotic.

    Posted: 16 Jul 2021 08:34 AM PDT

It definitely plays into the crowd control over DPS fantasy that Stasis wants to have. Just seeing frozen explosions chain to enemies is sooooooo satisfying.

It would be nice to get legendary ornaments as part of the season pass again

    Posted: 16 Jul 2021 12:48 AM PDT

Legendary ornaments were one of the parts of the season pass reward track I used to look forward to the most in Y3. I loved stuff like the Trophy Hunter, Seventh Seraph SMG/shotgun, and Falling Guillotine ornaments.

It was really disappointing in Hunt when we didn't get any new ones on the reward track, and it seems to be a trend since Chosen and Splicer haven't had any either.

I think it would be cool and pretty incentivizing if they made a return, since the season passes have been feeling a bit lighter the past few seasons in terms of rewards.

As it is keeping the story straight for storylines that sometimes span multiple years or that are dropped and picked up seasons later are is a little bit of a problem.

Also as it stands for new lights or returning lights it's pretty confusing as to what's happening in the game. The Story and Lore are incredible, help segueway it a bit between seasons.

Guns that interact with Warmind Cells should say that on the gun

    Posted: 16 Jul 2021 12:15 PM PDT

Just a thought. I know that the Warmind Cell Mod description explains what guns can make Cells but having the description on the gun too would be nice, especially if more guns in the future get the ability to Warmind Cell.

In honor of my favorite weapon returning to D2, I spent the last month 3D printing it!

    Posted: 16 Jul 2021 03:56 AM PDT

    Behold! The Mythoclast!

    https://i.imgur.com/qrK3IIV.jpg

It's 3.5 feet long, used up 3-4kg of filament (60-80$ worth), and I've pretty much been running my printer non-stop for a month to finish it. The model was not made by me, but can be found here.

My original intent was to paint the print to look similar to the D2 iteration of the Vex Mythoclast, but I'm really enjoying the black/white colors of the base PLA so I will probably leave it unpainted for awhile.

This project was a ton of fun and I really enjoyed seeing the gun come alive one piece at a time and it definitely has single handily justified my purchase of a 3D printer. Also ignore the crap TV, it's not even plugged in.

I just don't want internet strangers thinking poorly of me because of a 10 year old TV ok.

Introduce more Exotic-Legendary Synergies like Sturm+Drang or MIDA Multi and Mini Tool

    Posted: 16 Jul 2021 04:28 AM PDT

Preface: Sorry for the Long Post!

My Clanmates and I recently talked about some weapon nerfs over the years and why they were introduced (I will stick to the example of Ace of Spades for a while) and why they potentially do not make sense anymore (Ace was very strong on PC and could 2tap with OEM, which also lost it´s damage increase over the years).

Instead of Removing said nerfs and potentially mess up the balance in different parts of the game (PVP, casual and endgame PvE, Gambit (looking at you sleeper)) i would love to see some more synergies of weapons like MIDA or Sturm + Drang. Weapon Synergies have not been touched since Vanilla D2 (maybe I forgot something but i´m not Talking about Weapon Armor Synergies like Thorne and Necrotic Grasp or Xenophage and Actium War Rig) and might push some underused exotics to a higher usage rate and endgame capability. It might also fascilliate build crafting.

TL;DR: Weapon Synergy is heavily underused and have not been seen in the Game since Vanilla D2, which seems like a missed opportunity.

    Additional Information:

I´d like to propose some ideas how i imagine weapon Synergies to work out, while i´m also aware some of these might be unbalanced as hell.

Idea 1: Queen of Hearts (Synergizes with Ace of Spades, PvP Focused)

Legendary 90RMP Solar Sniper, Energy Weapon

    Frame: In loving memory:

Precision Final Blows grants 2 Bullets of Memento Mori when switched to Ace of Spades within 10 Seconds after a kill. Non-Precision Kills reloads the Magazine of Ace

Perks: Corkscrew Rifling, Accurized Rounds, Snap Shot, Quickdraw

This might be a good sniper on it´s own, but paired with Ace´s 90 crit./60 Body Shot Damage of Memento Mori Bullets, a good Sniper player can take out enemies on a long range and still challenge close range gun fights, if pushed aggressively. My intention was to allow for a quick paced playstyle, which switches between sniping and gun fights on mid to close range scales.

Idea 2: Wei Mings Fury (Endgame Focused/PVE, Synergizes with Erianas Vow)

Legendary, adaptive Arc Sword, Unique Frame: Ignition:
Elemental Shield Breaks, Champion Disruption or Rapid Precision Kills while First Glance is active grants ignition charges for Wei Nings Fury. Each Stack (up to 3) Grants 8% Bonus Damage, when used and Ignites the Sword for additional 2% Ignition Damage over Time (of the Swords Base Damage).

Sword Perks: Honed Edge, Swordsmasters Guard, Rentless Strikes, Vorpal

The Idea was to have a pairing for Eriana´s Vow in Grandmaster Content: Eriana disrupts Champions and the Sword finishes them off quickly. Also Dark Drinker and Blot Caster returned in legendary form and i thought Raze-Lighter deserved to return too.

Any Feedback and Comments on the general Idea is very much appreciated!

If you are having issues getting constant weasel errors on PC, it might be your antivirus

    Posted: 16 Jul 2021 09:17 PM PDT

Just wanted to give a PSA, since this issue plagued me for the last week and a half and has been the bane of my existence. I was getting disconnected from Destiny 2 every 30 minutes or so and It made it borderline impossible to play. I tried all of bungie's troubleshooting options and checked the forum and everything, and nothing worked. No other services on my home network were dropping either, just destiny.

Then I figured out that Avast moved destiny2.exe into quarantine and was periodically terminating my connection when it thought it saw something suspicious. So I figured I'd let everyone know: If you're having connection issues, it might be Avast.

Bungie, refractory warrior is an idiotic triumph that incentivises ignoring half of the EAZ’s mechanics

    Posted: 16 Jul 2021 08:27 AM PDT

Why on earth they thought this was a good idea is beyond me. 100 boss kills that only include the times taken boss and the end boss. All this does is push players to avoid killing mini bosses and wait for the taken event to spawn (decreasing kills for people actually participating) and then leaving immediately after the end boss dies (decreases potential rewards for the remaining participants).

Not only this you can only progress the triumph every four days (PRISM Day). I'm well aware there's nothing to be gained by doing the triumph but as someone who likes gaining score this triumph is an unnecessary slog that hurts the experience of Solstice's primary event.

I'd rather kill 250-300 mini bosses.
