Trials, From Zero to Hero (Free of Charge, Bungie)

    Posted: 17 Jul 2021 08:50 AM PDT

Credentials time, skip it if you don't care. I play a lot of trials. Like, a lot of it. Top 0.1% Top 500, 300 Flawless', blah blah. I have a solid group of friends to play with and it's genuinely enjoyable for the most part (FOR US).

The core of trials means that for my team to go to the tower, 7 of your teams must lose. I don't think this needs to change, personally. This is Trials, anything different would not be Trials. Strong teams should go flawless and any less should not. So, let's give people an incentive to not go flawless.

For this to work, all of my suggestions need to kind of be looked at together.

So, first and foremost, up the tokens. Pretty standard suggestion, people have said it a bunch. Just up the tokens recieved. Make it like IB. 3 for losses, 5 for wins, or w.e. 3/5/7 still give you a chunk more. Keeps people in the playlist for longer.

SECOND. You know on the card, there's like 7 squares for wins and 3 squares for losses? Yeah, fuck those 3 squares. No more "3 losses and you're out". Keep playing. Now, you obviously can't go to the lighthouse anymore. Which I think is fair. But you can keep playing to get those 7 wins for all the rewards. Again, Flawless lighthouse still requires you to win 7 games with no loss. But, now 3 losses won't mean you have to start from square 1, literally. Keeps people in the playlist for longer.

Third, turn Saint into the fucking end encounter raid chest thing from DSC and now VoG. You know? I mean, he doesn't literally need to turn into a chest with a mohawk, but make him act like one. Like, if you've recieved the weapon/arnor before, you can purchase another one for different rolls for Trials tokens (see, it all ties together, told ya). More tokens, more incentive play through losses, more weapon rolls.

I truly think this would make the game mode a million times better. It keeps its identity while allowing every level skill players to benefit.

Lemme know what you guys think. I just wanted to add some constructiveness over the weekend rather than shit posting trials stuff.

Edit: Holy moly my inbox. Thanks for the awards <3. I'll try to respond to people, might be slow since I'm at work, haha.

Please replace outlaw with rapid hit on outbreak perfect.

    Posted: 17 Jul 2021 10:50 AM PDT

It fits better then outlaw. One of outbreak strengths is stacking siva on a target for extra damage. Rapid hit lets it do that better. I think it would be a nice utility change for a fan favorite exotic. Also when pulse rifle campion mods make a comeback. Anti barrier or installable puls with rapid hit would make it a champion damage machine.

Oh and given siva's relation to the warminds, let it make warmind cell's

    Introducing the “Crybaby” Seal

    Posted: 17 Jul 2021 05:35 PM PDT

This Crybaby seal would be awarded after a couple of "challenges." Intended for LFG Crybabies or toxic players in general.

Going to orbit after three or less wipes of an encounter in raids/NFs.

    Micromanaging other players loadouts

Passive aggressive/ aggressive comments during activities

Frequent booting of players from one fireteam

Obviously there are specifics that need to be covered here but I think these are some good ones to start with. Downvote all you'd like Crybabies, the seal is coming! :)

Should Classses have their own Dedicated Seal?

    Posted: 17 Jul 2021 05:17 AM PDT

This was a topic as we discussed if this should be a thing for people who main or sink enough hours in a class, that they should be rewarded for being Proficent in that class.

We thought some ideas, but as an example
    Hunter - Predator, Gunslinger

    Warlock - Sorcerer, Magiologist

    Titan - Knight, Crayon

    So on so fourth

Bungie should steal 1 thing from Final Fantasy 14

    Posted: 17 Jul 2021 09:02 AM PDT

The Mentor title. Why do we have sherpas and ways to track them but no seal for the people who do the sherpas? This would give a great incentive for helping new players, and if it could be gildable then this incentive would stay season to season.

    This is my ted talk.

Heating up should replace hip fire for Bad Juju

    Posted: 17 Jul 2021 07:32 PM PDT

No one uses hip fire grip on bad juju. Like no distraction replacing outlaw on izanami, replace hip fire with heating up. It already gets infinite amo and a damage boost if you keep geting kills, heating up seems like a good fit for it.

Seriously, stop it. I have over 2k key fragments just from playing the game and I have a 9 - 5. EAZ is the only way to get packages while every activity in the game lavishes you with key fragments. Make EAZ reward packages exclusively.

Another request for an indicator of when Blink is off cooldown

    Posted: 17 Jul 2021 02:23 PM PDT

Top tree Dawn has had one ever since its rework, and we've just been guessing and praying with blink since launch. It should either have an indicator (with the debuff and flash) that Dawn has, or the cooldown should just be removed. It'd be nice to mix it up after using nothing but Burst Glide since launch.

Code of the Fire-Forged revitalisation idea.

    Posted: 17 Jul 2021 10:53 PM PDT

Quick notes, if you don't care for my long winded justification for Revitalising this titan Code skip to the "IIIIIII"'s, there's going to be an TLDR there and its where the suggestion for the revitalisation begins

Code of the Fire-Forged, AKA we need a melting point, the original d2 auto lock for titans in raids/end game content,

but this class has seen better days, not only with many other viable/useful options for what this class does(for both titan and other classes) but also the lack of a gameplay loop / playstyle.

    starting with the first point,

this subclass comes with an descent set of perks, hammer strike, a rather powerful melee that inflicts an target with an 35% damage debuff, Tempered Metal, ability kills, grant an reload and mobility buff, and finally the 2 super enhancement perks, Vulcans rage, causes Hammers of Sol to generate 4 explosive embers on impact, and Explosive Pyre, causing Enemies killed by hammers of Sol to Detonate.

now these are all as i have said descent perks, the issue comes with what they have to compete with,

hammer strike, and thus melting point, in my opinion despite being an powerful melee, it struggles to compete with other Melee Builds, things like Combination Blow and Liars, requiring a massive amount of build specking just to have it Charged when needed.

as for Melting point, back when it was the 1 of 2 or 3, similar Damage Debuffs, it was an extremely nessacary and viable option, within Raids, and OG nightfall's, but with every seasonal artefact bring an new method for debuffing targets, as well as new exotics and subclass's/perks, enabling easier and less disruptive/dangerous methods. with this season exemplifying this with breach and clear.

    onto Tempered Metal

this is an descent buff, with reload speed and mobility greatly increasing, the ability to push enermies,

however, its got a massive draw back, it requires ability kills to activate,

now this is identical to the other Solar Codes, Devastator and Siege Breaker, however these have a what i refer to as a Gameplay loop or a play style, of which without anything BUT the subclass can be with a rough idea on the mentality/playstyle, be looped/leveraged to maintain the perk.

where as with tempered metal this isn't the case. with the 15sec timer, and requiring an ability kill to refresh the longest you typically have the perk up is just after a super where you already have the perk up and then can burn 2 abilities to extend it.

onto the Super and its Perks

now there isnt to much to be said on this unlike tempered metal,

this super and the Code Perks are designed for bursts of add clearing, Vulcans rage increasing the AoE of your hammers and Explosive Pyre causing kills to potentially nab an Collateral.

however nothing this super does cant be done better then Siege breaker

in terms of Add clearing although Siege breaker and its sunspots may take longer to clear the same amount of adds, it has 3 things making this super better in this department, namely Sun Warrior increasing hammer throw speed, and duration of the super, as well as the HP returns for a kill, sure with a couple of kills Code of the Fire-Forged moves faster and you might be able to go group to group quicker, but that means nothing, if your super or health runs out before you can kill them. and with the extended super duration typically Siege breaker can kill more.

TLDR : Explosive Pyre and Vulcans rage are descent but there impact is overshadowed by the code of the siege breaker and it's sunspots. tempered metal is an ok subclass buff, however it lacks an innate loop/play style to interact with the perk to gain and maintain it, as is seen in Devastator or Siege breaker. melting point is good, but overshadowed by the majority of alternative debuffs that do the same/similar thing but but with greater survivability, consistency or ease of use.

    IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII

Now How can this subclass be updated to make it a better option for activities,

the main thing i think should change is the tempered metal buff; now allowing tempered metal to increase ability regen time, wont work this is because it would be to similar to Sun warrior,

    TEMPERED METAL

as such i have the following proposal for a tempered metal rework

    • increase the maximum stacks of Tempered Metal to 9
    • decreased duration of tempered metal to 10sec (was 15sec)
    • weapon kills grant 1 stack, ability kills grant 3
      • this is regardless of rank, from red bar to boss its 1, same with Guardians only 1
    • the buff now does the following, increases Reload speed, stability, and Recoil Direction(and bounce intensity).
      • i don't know about keeping the mobility buff, specifically due to weapon final blows proc'ing the perk, and how oppressive it could become in PvP

    Description Changes

    • Old description
      • "Solar Ability kills Grant you and Nearby allies bonus Movement and reload speed"
    • New Description
      • "Weapon or Ability kills Grant you and Nearby allies bonus Weapon Stability, reload speed and recoil direction"

now with the changes to How the perk works and what it affects i have also deduced an Formula for how the perk buffs the stats.

    Y = X + ((100 - X) \ (M * T))*

    • Where Y = buffed stat, X = the base stat, M = the stat specfic multiplier, and T = the stacks of Tempered Metal (from 0 to 9).
    • Values for M
      • Reload speed; M = 0.075
      • Stability ; M = 0.1
      • Recoil Direction ; M = 0.1
    • Desmos Graph, of this concept
      • the T Slider is for stacks of tempered metal, from 0 to 9
      • the a Slider is for your starting stat,
        • where the moving red line intercepts with the diagonal lines is the buffed stat

THE SUPER, (Explosive Pyre, and Vulcans Rage)

this change is going to be much simpler then the tempered metal one

    Explosive Pyre,

    • Old description
      • "Enemies killed by Hammer of Sol explode"
    • New Description
      • "Enemies killed by abilities Explode"

    Vulcan's Rage

    • Old description
      • "Hammers shatter into Explosive Molten Embers on impact"
    • New Description
      • "Whilst within Hammer of Sol, Throw Unstable hammers that shatter into explosive embers, or Launch yourself forward with a devastating Suncharge"
      • sun charge is an old D1 perk, this allowed you to perform an super enhanced hammer strike,
        • this would do similar damage to an Thrown hammer, but it would cost less energy,
        • currently a thrown hammer costs 1/8th of your super, this sun charge would cost 1/10th,

    IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII

    Thoughts?,

now the first part is mainly just my opinion, im curious how many people agree with my points, did i cover them all or am i making an mountain out of a mole hill with some.

as for the buff suggestions, apart from suncharge maybe being a bit overcooked with it being an Solar Melee Ability, so it stacking with Worm God Caress and Peregrine Greeves. i don't believe it would be to powerful, especially since the tempered metal change would be rather limited in PvP requiring constant feeding and a couple kills to get it going, combined with the lack of handling or range buff making it less versatile/helpful for the current meta

with that out of the way I'm curious as to the communities opinion on my suggestions

Okay hear me out: If we’re not going to get more Ikelos weapon why don’t we get a weapon mod called “Blessing of Rasputin” which allows weapons to generate cells at a lesser rate?

    Posted: 17 Jul 2021 06:26 PM PDT

    Title.

So here's how I think we balance it since cells are staying around forever.

    1. It's a mod. Right away you're losing access to boss spec/minor spec/ rampage spec/counterbalance and so on.

    2. Have these weapons generate cells at a lesser rate. Currently it's 8~ kills or less with majors thrown in. This could be bumped up to 16~ (less with majors) so you'd have to work harder to produce the same amount.

    3. Maybe have a quest related to it so it's at least hard to get to start? (I don't know lmao)

I just wish more weapons could produce cells without needing solar splash etc. That way we could further tailor our load outs.

    Bring back heroic campaign missions

    Posted: 17 Jul 2021 04:57 PM PDT

I wish they never took out the best part of the solo experience. The story mode also brings better replay ability, and what better way than to bring back heroic missions, or even go as far as legend or master difficulty missions in the campaign. The seasonal story is really cool, but there's no harm in throwing replayable dlc missions. After all, that's what they put a lot of their time into anyway.

TL:DR- the title says it all

Strike Playlists a little thin? Can we get sunset location strikes added back in?

    Posted: 17 Jul 2021 07:12 PM PDT

Does it feel to anyone else like you end up playing the same 4 strikes when doing the strike playlist? I do and it gets tiresome.

It would be really nice if the strikes from sunset locations could still be in the playlist. I think having a ton more strikes in the rotation would help it feel less like you're doing the same couple of strikes again and again.

Has Bungie stated why sunset locations' strikes can't be in the playlist? I understand maybe from a lore perspective it might be confusing to have some of these strikes in when the content they relate to isn't playable, but I still think having more strikes would be a net positive.

TLDR; I like strikes and I want sunset locations strikes added back into the playlist.

I turned in 5000 vanguard tokens and have no weapons or armour to show for it

    Posted: 17 Jul 2021 12:32 AM PDT

There's a reason people have been hoarding this stuff - there's just nothing in the vendor pools worth chasing is it's the same crap we can get everywhere else. Not one decent roll on a gun and not one piece of armour that wasn't trash. The revamped crucible and gambit rank-up engrams are no better, I'm not going to get excited about getting another False Promises to drop if a dreg on the EDZ gave me one a few minutes ago. We need vendors specific weapons in these loot pools. Pretty sure the last time I dropped a bunch of tokens was when service revolver was reissued. Now that there's a new team at bungie dedicated to churning out weapons, they need a full set for each of the three vendors and not just have their inventory crammed with the crap we all have already.

If blue gear was eliminated from the game at a certain power level, would you be upset if nothing dropped in its place? Would you prefer ‘auto dismantle’ option in gameplay options?
