This week at Bungie, we launched a whole bunch of missiles.

It's been an action packed week. Over the weekend, we watched as Rasputin sent literal ordnance into the sky to take down the Almighty in Destiny 2's first live in-game event. We followed that up with a mighty salvo of virtual launches in the form of media, articles, and a stream to showcase the future of Destiny. Season of Arrivals has started building a bridge to this fall, when Guardians will wield the Darkness for the first time in Destiny 2: Beyond Light.

Here's the full stream in case you haven't had a chance to watch yet.

Don't have time to watch the full stream? Here are a couple of the first looks at Destiny 2: Beyond Light.

We're excited about the future of Destiny. To lay the groundwork, we have to make some changes to the core game. Several less-explored locations and activities will be going into the Destiny Content Vault (DCV) to pave the way for new hotness like Europa coming this fall. We lay out a lot of information on what to expect in our Building a Viable Future in Destiny 2 article. We know you have a lot more questions and we'll have answers to share throughout the summer.

Since Season of Arrivals acts as a prelude to Beyond Light, we have held our plans for the Season close to our chest until the reveal this week. The Pyramid ships have begun to arrive on Io and Eris is hard at work trying to decipher their intentions. She needs your help.

Oh, and did we mention there is a brand new dungeon? Prophecy is free to all players and transports you into a strange dimension to seek out the IX. It's got some real Rainbow Road vibes too. Here's a peek.

The future is bright and full of new challenges to tackle. We hope to see you out there.

    Match Made in Heaven

By the time that this TWAB is published, a few changes to Crucible matchmaking will be live. Matchmaking based on player skill has been removed from all playlists except Elimination, Survival, and Survival: Freelance. Trials of Osiris will continue to be matched based on the number of wins on your Passage.

    We are doing this to:

    • Respond to community feedback.
    • Shorten queue times for players.
    • Improve connection quality of matches.
    • Provide more places where the outcome of the match isn't as important as enjoying the experience.
    • Play into the strengths of Crucible being a bombastic, frenetic action game.

The pursuit of Glory Points in Survival and attempting to go Flawless in Trials of Osiris will allow those playlists to reinforce that the outcome of matches are important and keep the stakes high. We want the rest of the Crucible to be less of a high-stakes environment where players can have a more relaxed experience and just enjoy the Destiny multiplayer sandbox.

We will continue to monitor feedback and game data around these changes. If we decide to make any further adjustments, we'll let you know.

Counted You One of My Crew

The Destiny Dev Team has a quick update on a change we are making to the Dredgen title.

    Destiny Dev Team: Hey everyone,

As you may have read here, we made some changes to the World Loot Pool. As a result, a few of the legendary weapons in the Playing for Keeps Collection badge no longer have a reward source in the game.

While we still strongly believe that gear collection is a critical part of what it means to earn and wear a title, we're going to remove the Playing for Keeps badge from the Dredgen title requirements in an update next week. While not trivial, the badge didn't represent the challenging portions of earning the title. We feel removing this requirement doesn't reduce the meaning of wearing Dredgen over your head. That said, we don't like making changes to titles as their complexity and depth is what gives them meaning, but in this case, the long-term weapon health outweighs a small change to the title.

We know you have a lot of questions about how our Destiny Convent Vault announcement this week will affect other Triumphs and titles. We will have more details for you soon.

Thank you, and keep sending us feedback as we strive to make a meaningful, evolving world in Destiny.

    New Threads

We have a new item from Bungie Rewards available to anyone brave enough to defeat the new dungeon before the end of the season. Players who complete Prophecy will unlock an Emissary of the IX Hoodie that can be purchased from the Bungie Store.

When new content is released, the Player Support Team is carefully watching to identify any new issues that emerge so we can get fixes in the works.

    This is their report.

    SEASON OF ARRIVALS AND BEYOND

With the launch of Season of Arrivals on June 9, and with the announcement of Destiny 2: Beyond Light, Destiny Player Support wants to make players aware of resources that are available regarding said content. This includes:

Please note that past Season Pass rewards from the previous Season, Season of the Worthy, are available to claim here. Past Season Pass rewards from Season of the Worthy will be unable to claim when Season of Arrivals ends

    HOTFIX 2.9.0.1

Hotfix 2.9.0.1. is planned for the week of Monday, June 15. For more information on this release as it becomes available, players should visit our Destiny Server and Update Status help article. For live updates as this maintenance occurs, players should follow @BungieHelp on Twitter or monitor our support feed at help.bungie.net."

    CHARGED WITH LIGHT

Shortly before the launch of Season of Arrivals, DPS became aware of a bug regarding the seasonal Charged with Light armor mods. This bug allows players to equip all of the current seasonal Charged with Light armor mods on any of the Season of the Worthy armor pieces without having previously acquired them. While this bug will be fixed in Hotfix 2.9.0.1, the team has decided not to disable the mods until then to allow players to try out the mods for this week.

    UPCOMING RESOLVED ISSUES

Below is a list of issues that will be resolved with Hotfix 2.9.0.1:

    • The Guardian Angel artifact armor mod is not granting its perk when the mod is slotted.
    • The Breach Resonator artifact armor mod is not granting its perk when the mod is slotted.
    • On controllers, Sprint will cancel if players press the Sprint action again.
    • Players will a full engram inventory of Umbral Engrams may be blocked from completing the Season of Arrivals opening quest.
    • Visible holes are present in the EDZ terrain where the Seraph Towers used to be.

BEYOND LIGHT PRE-ORDER ITEMS ON XBOX

In order to receive their pre-order bonus items players who have purchased the Destiny 2: Beyond Light or Destiny 2: Beyond Light + Season pre-order bundles on XBOX need to manually download the "Destiny 2: Beyond Light Pre-Order Pack".

Players who have purchased the Destiny 2: Beyond Light Deluxe Edition pre-order bundle on XBOX will need to manually download both the "Destiny 2: Beyond Light Pre-Order Pack" and the "Destiny 2: Beyond Light Exotic Emote"

    • From the Xbox dashboard, highlight the Destiny 2 image
    • Select "Manage game & add-ons"
    • Navigate to the "Ready to install" section on the left
    • "Destiny 2: Beyond Light Pre-Order Pack" should appear on the right. For Deluxe Edition owners, "Destiny 2: Beyond Light Exotic Emote" should also be listed.
    • Select "Destiny 2: Beyond Light Pre-Order Pack" on the right, then select Install
    • Deluxe Edition owners should also select "Destiny 2: Beyond Light Exotic Emote" on the right, then select Install
    • Wait for the console to report the DLC is installed
    • Start Destiny 2, and visit the Cryptarch in the Tower to acquire all pre-order items.

Some players who have already pre-ordered may run in to an issue where the Pre-Order Pack and Exotic Emote are not showing in the "ready to install" section. For those players, these are the next steps:

    • Open the Microsoft Store app and navigate to the specific bundle they purchased
    • Select the "Install" button. This shouldn't take long, it's no more than ~30 MB
    • "Ready to install" for Destiny 2 in "My games & apps" should now be populated with the missing DLC.

If re-installing the bundle doesn't populate "ready to install", players should try these steps:

    • Open the Microsoft Store app
    • Search for "Destiny 2: Beyond Light Pre-Order Pack" and select it from the search results
    • On the product page, select Install
    • For Deluxe Edition owners, repeat the above steps for "Destiny 2: Beyond Light Exotic Emote"
    • Wait for those download(s) to complete and then try the game again

Bungie, don't remove the Prophecy dungeon at the end of the season like you are planning to!

    Posted: 11 Jun 2020 11:05 AM PDT

In the description of the regional Prophecy teaser trailers on YouTube there is a line at the bottom which says "Dungeon only available during Season of Arrivals". This means this endgame Dungeon which is free for all players will disappear in 3 months time.

It's an incredible piece of content and doesn't deserve to disappear like the Sundial, Vex Offensive or Seraph Towers, this is a timeless activity and is leagues ahead of any other seasonal activity.

Please reconsider your stance, I feel a lot of the community would agree.

BIG PROBLEM : Twisted Energy ONLY drops from 2 Weekly Bounties & the Season Pass. No earnable source means players with only one Character will be a month behind by next week.

    Posted: 11 Jun 2020 01:41 PM PDT

Bungie's usually pretty good about avoiding these kinds of disadvantages, but they overlooked this one...

In previous seasons we could earn those particular seasonal materials either through activity completions like Crucible, Strikes or Daily Bounties.
    Not this time...

There is currently no other way to earn the Twisted Energy used for upgrading the Prismatic Recaster other than the two Weekly Bounties (500 each) and the rewards from the Season Pass rank ups (1500 in total).

The only additional Twisted Energy source is 'Umbral Mastery 1' on the Recaster, which grants 25 Twisted Energy for every Umbral Engram decrypted... 40 engrams = 1 rank up.

Also worth noting that the cost of ranking up the Prismatic Recaster goes up to 1000 at a certain point (80 engrams) and with 21 Umbral Research unlocks (1 per rank up) I'm not even sure there's enough weeks in the Season for Solo Mains to hit max rank, which there probably are, but it'll be close.

So if you're a player with only one Character, make some new ones and grab those weekly bounties or you're going to be waaayyy behind in enjoying and benefiting from the rank up unlocks.

It would be such a shame for all the work to go into this great piece of content and have it just disappear in three months. It's the best Raid-like Dungeon so far, and everyone seems to be having a blast.

Another season, another strong Warlock Nezarec's Sin build - counter all three champions on your own and get massive sword DPS buffs with ammo for days

    Posted: 11 Jun 2020 10:31 AM PDT

I've taken to calling it "A Stab in the Dark," because I usually don't know what I'm doing when it comes to buildcrafting.

Thanks to the Charged with Light seasonal armor mod system, we have new ways of wreaking havoc on majors and bosses in PvE - the new mod "Lucent Blade" provides a 35% damage buff to your swords for 5 seconds after dealing damage with a sword, and consumes 1 stack of Charged with Light to do so. This build started with the idea of trying to maximize that perk's effects, and thanks to Nezarec's Sin and some new and returning artifact mods, there's a lot of synergy here. Also, this build can leverage Recluse which will be sunset next season, so it may be one of the last times to use the gun with a build like this at a high power level. It does rely on this season's artifact mods, so it will only work until the start of next season.

This build will allow you to do the following:

    • Counter all three Champion types on your own.
    • Use your sword to clean up yellow bars and bosses all day with big DPS buffs and lots of ammo - you won't miss your favorite special ammo weapon as a result of the Champion mod system.
    • High survivability thanks to Devour in bottom-tree voidwalker.
    • Very fast ability and super recharge thanks to the Nezarec's Sin exotic helmet.

    Build Armor Specs

Top stats to spec for would be Discipline for increase grenade recharge rate (synergizes with the Oppressive Darkness and Overload Grenade mods below), and Intellect for your super. Armor element types listed below are required for the selection of mods to work. Total Energy is listed in a range from minimum required to total recommended based on my notes for each mod in the table below.

There's a very heavy emphasis on strong and unique mods from the seasonal artifact and seasonal activity. Standard weapon improvement mods are mostly restricted to sword ammo finders and scavengers to ensure you're always ready for DPS, and some optional Discipline mods and Boss Resist to help with grenade recharge and survivability.

Keep in mind you'll need armor that can equip the appropriate seasonal mods. Armor from this current season appears to allow for Charged with Light mods from both season 11 and 9 to be equipped right now. Also, season 10 armor appears to allow you to socket season 11 CwL mods that you have not yet purchased - not sure what the deal is there but it's likely a bug in our favor.

Armor Type Element General Mod Armor Type Mod 1 Armor Type Mod 2 Seasonal Mod Total Energy
Helmet (Nezarec's Sin) Arc Discipline Mod [3] (optional) Sword Ammo Finder [2] (required) Sword Ammo Finder [2] (required) N/A (no seasonal mods on exotic armor) [4 - 7]
Arms Arc Discipline Mod [3] (optional) Unstoppable Pulse [2] (required) Pulse Rifle Loader [1] (required) Lucent Blade [4] (required) [7 - 10]
Chest Solar None Overload Grenades [2] (required) Counter Charge [3] (required) Supercharged [5] (recommended) [5 - 10]
Legs Arc Boss Resist [2] (optional) Enhanced Sword Scavenger [1] (required) Sword Scavenger [2] (recommended) Swift Charge [5] (required) [6 - 10]
Bond Void None Oppressive Darkness [6] (required) None Stacks on Stacks [4] (recommended) [6 - 10]

UPDATE: After many suggestions in the comments, I'm adding notes here for a build that uses the Gnawing Hunger void auto rifle that's targetable this season with Umbral engrams. It's an in-meta 600 RPM AR with void damage, and can roll demolitionist. To make the general structure of this build work with Gnawing Hunger, make the following changes to the leg armor in the table above:

    • Change leg armor energy from Arc to Solar.
    • Replace the Swift Charge [5] mod with the Sustained Charge [4] mod.
    • Replace the Sword Scavenger [2] mod with an Enhanced Sword Scavenger [1] mod, or if you prefer, an Auto Rifle Scavenger [1] mod.
    • You now have 2 extra energy to play with in the general mod slot. You can keep Boss Resist [2], or upgrade to other stat-boosting mods like Discipline [3] mod if you like. With a demolitionist void weapon though, grenades shouldn't be hard to come by at all.

    Build Weapon Recommendations

The weapons here seek to get the most out of Nezarec's Sin's perk to give you faster ability charge rates for void kills. For this reason, you'll want to rely on your void weapons as much as possible for killing enemies. However, they're also aligned to the Champion mods and the Charged with Light mods. The pulse rifle will stagger Unstoppables (thanks to an armor mod this time, not a weapon mod), the SMG will pierce Barriers (using a weapon mod), and both will contribute to earning stacks of Charged with Light when you get rapid kills with them (more applicable to the SMG).

    • Kinetic
      • Requirement: Any pulse rifle
      • Top Recommendation: Outbreak Perfected - Exotic
      • Otherwise, your favorite pulse rifle should work fine here, not a big deal. You'll probably only be using this to stagger unstoppable champions.
    • Energy
      • Requirement: Any void submachine gun
      • Top Recommendation: Recluse - for obvious reasons
      • Runner Up: Every Waking Moment - target farmable on the Moon
      • Notes: Recluse is the obvious go-to weapon here for its Master of Arms buff - better damage and reload speed. But if you don't have it, or want to try something else, Every Waking Moment is an excellent option. It's also a void SMG, but it can roll with Demolitionist, and it's easily targeted for farming on the moon by getting the Essence of Obscurity from the Lectern of Enchantment. Demolitionist will improve your grenade recharge rate on top of Nezarec's Sin, so if you want to spam grenades with this build then this gun is worth a look. Make sure to put on an anti-barrier rounds mod from the seasonal artifact to counter barrier champions.
      • UPDATE: Alternatively, you can use a Gnawing Hunger void auto rifle with the demolitionist perk and anti-barrier rounds to really get grenade spam going. This might even be more effective than recluse given how good 600 RPM ARs are in the game right now. You'll need to make changes to the recommended armor to continue to gain CwL though, make sure to read those notes above.
    • Power
      • Requirement: A void sword with Relentless Strikes and Whirlwind Blade
      • Top Recommendation: Falling Guillotine - new this season
      • Runner Up: Steel Sybil Z-14
      • Notes: The sword perk combo of Relentless Strikes and Whirlwind Blade has been the god-roll for DPS for a while, and that doesn't change here. Whirlwind Blade stacks 6% damage buffs for each sword hit up to x5 for a 30% total buff, which itself stacks multiplicatively with the 35% damage buff from the Lucent Blade armor mod. Relentless Strikes returns ammo to your sword after two light attacks. The reason I give the edge here to Falling Guillotine is that the heavy attack is a spin move which might damage multiple enemies around you (I haven't tested this yet). If so, that would likely set it one notch above Steel Sybil's single-target heavy attack. Also, the Guillotine is easily targetable this season in Umbral Engrams. Steel Sybil has been around for a while and you might already have that god roll. If not, Steel Sybil is also reissued this season in the world loot pool so you may get a good roll there. Whichever sword you run, slap a Boss Spec mod on it to do another multiplicative 7.77% damage (not a joke - tested that in the Tribute Hall yesterday).

    Build and Mod Discussion

    • Lucent Blade
      • Source: Season 11 activity / prismatic recaster
      • Arc mod, costs 4 energy, slots into the seasonal mod slot of any armor.
      • "While Charged with Light, dealing damage with a Sword gives you bonus damage for 5 seconds, consuming one stack of Charged with Light."
      • "Secondary Perk: When at least one other Arc mod is socketed into this armor, Lucent Blade greatly increases the charge rate for your equipped swords."

This is the cornerstone of the build - giving the player big DPS buffs on bosses. This spends stacks of CwL to give a 35% damage buff, which stacks with the Whirlwind Blade perk on swords as well as Boss Spec weapon mods and any source of debuff on the enemy you're damaging. When procced, you'll get a buff "Keened" which lasts for 5 seconds and gives you the damage bonus. While Keened is active, you won't consume additional stacks of Charged with Light (I tested this), so go ahead and whack away with abandon at your target. One stack at a time will get consumed to keep this going if your DPS lasts for more than 5 seconds.

    • Swift Charge
      • Source: Season 11 activity / prismatic recaster
      • Arc mod, costs 5 energy, slots into the seasonal mod slot of any armor.
      • "Become Charged with Light by rapidly defeating combatants with Pulse Rifles, Sidearms, or Submachine Guns."
      • "Secondary perk: When at least one other Arc mod is socketed into this armor, defeating combatants with a Pulse Rifle grants a chance to drop Special ammo for your allies."

Swift Charge is one of the two ways we'll earn stacks of CwL. You'll want to spam your Recluse to get stacks while simultaneously proccing Nez Sin's perk to improve your ability regeneration. You can also earn CwL with your kinetic pulse rifle, but that won't help with Nez Sin, and you won't be killing mobs nearly as quickly. The secondary perk might be helpful if you're doing content with a fireteam, but it doesn't directly benefit you. My armor mod recommendations include the basic arc "Sword Scavenger" mod in order to enable this secondary perk, but you could forego it and just use another mod if you wish. You could use a second Enhanced Sword Scavenger from the artifact, but in testing the build I had lots of sword ammo already. You might use that two energy to put into the general mod slot on your legs and make that another Discipline mod - up to you.

UPDATE: If you're using Gnawing Hunger instead of Recluse, you should change Swift Charge to Sustained Charge - it does the same thing but for auto rifles. Sourced from the prismatic recaster. Solar mod, costs 4 energy, slots into the seasonal mod slot of any armor. "Become Charged with Light by rapidly defeating combatants with Auto Rifles, Trace Rifles, or Machine Guns."

    • Counter Charge
      • Source: Season 11 artifact
      • Chest armor mod, costs 3 energy, works with all elements
      • "Become Charged with Light whenever you or a member of your fireteam Staggers or Disrupts a Champion, or Pierces a Champion's barrier."

This is the second way we'll earn stacks of CwL. Since the build is designed to counter all three Champion types, you'll want to go out of your way to do so - you'll immediately get a stack (or two) of CwL which you can use right away to start dealing more DPS with your sword.

    • Supercharged
      • Source: Season 11 activity / prismatic recaster
      • Solar mod, costs 5 energy, slots into the seasonal mod slot of any armor.
      • "You can have 2 additional stacks of Charged with Light, up to a maximum of 5. This mod's effects stack with other copies of this mod."

Normally, you can carry 2 stacks of CwL. This mod doubles that, and also effectively doubles the duration of your max sword DPS from 10 to 20 seconds if you start hitting the boss with x4 stacks. I haven't seen this mod available for purchase at the prismatic recaster yet, but I did find that solar armor from last season is able to equip the mod already, weather you've purchased the mod or not. That's probably a bug, but you may as well use it while you can until it comes up for sale.

    • Stacks on Stacks
      • Source: Season 9 activity / Banshee (on rotation - low chance)
      • Void mod, costs 4 energy, slots into the seasonal mod slot of any armor.
      • "Gain an extra stack of Charged with Light for every stack you gain."

Pretty self-explanatory: two stacks are better than one. Thanks to the Supercharged mod earlier, now when you earn just two stacks of CwL, you'll have four ready to go for 20 seconds of the Lucent Blade buff.

    • Unstoppable Pulse Rifle
      • Source: Season 11 artifact
      • Arms armor mod, costs 2 energy, works with all elements
      • "Aiming down Pulse Rifle sights loads a high-impact burst that staggers Unstoppable Champions."

This mod allows the Unstoppable perk to be applied to all equipped pulse rifles, including exotics. The Champion mod system has been criticized heavily for forcing double-primary loadouts and virtually excluding all primary exotics from the equation. Now with this armor mod, you can have Unstoppable rounds on your Outbreak Perfected, Vigilance Wing, Bad Juju, or Graviton Lance. If you have a favorite legendary pulse rifle you want to use instead, then this also frees up the weapon mod slot in that gun for what you normally prefer.

    • Overload Grenades
      • Source: Season 11 artifact
      • Chest armor mod, costs 2 energy, works with all elements
      • "Void grenades cause disruption, delaying ability energy regeneration and lowering combatant damage output. Strong against Overload Champions."

Our second Champion counter mod allows our void grenades to disrupt Overload champions. With Nez Sin and spamming Recluse and our void sword, we should often have a void grenade charged and ready for use, especially if the armor is specced for high Discipline.

    • Anti-Barrier Rounds
      • Source: Season 11 artifact
      • Auto Rifle or SMG weapon mod, costs 0 energy
      • "Shield-piercing rounds designed to bypass combatant defenses. Strong against Barrier Champions."

The classic anti-barrier rounds mod returns, and can once again be socketed into your favorite auto rifle or SMG. This rounds out our anti-champion mod structure. My recommendation is to put this on your Recluse.

    • Oppressive Darkness
      • Source: Season 11 artifact
      • Class item armor mod, costs 6 energy, works with all elements
      • "Causing damage with a Void grenade adds a weaken effect to combatants."

Everyone's favorite debuff from the launch of Shadowkeep has returned! Once again our void grenade spam will help us by debuffing our targets, effectively increasing our damage against them. I've not yet tested this out personally as I've not unlocked it, but based on what I could find from posts on this from season 8, I believe it amounts to about a 30% damage increase, though I could be wrong on that. Most importantly, the way Bungie changed buffs and debuffs means only one buff and one debuff can be active at once. The "Keened" buff from the Lucent Blade mod gives us the +35% damage, and now Oppressive Darkness can stack with that to add more damage to the mix. Make sure to use Vortex Grenade in your voidwalker subclass tree - it has the longest duration and therefore will maximize the duration of Oppressive Darkness, which ends about 1 second after the grenade stops.

    • Enhanced Sword Scavenger
      • Source: Season 11 artifact
      • Legs armor mod, costs 1 energy, works with all elements
      • "Swords get larger bonus reserves when you pick up ammo."

We want all the ammo we can get for our sword, and this artifact mod gives us the biggest benefit: an enhanced scavenger mod that only costs 1 energy in your armor slots! In my build details I included a normal "Sword Scavenger" mod in the other mod slot because that one is an Arc mod, this enhanced one from the artifact is not. The arc mod will proc Swift Charge's second perk which drops special ammo for allies. If you're running solo, you can probably replace that with a second enhanced version here, or apply that energy to a better mod in the General mod slot.

OTHER MODS: Double sword ammo finder is hugely valuable, as running around the new Contact public event I was seeing the ground littered with heavy bricks. The "Pulse Rifle Loader" mod on the arms is REQUIRED to proc the second perk of Lucent Blade which greatly increases the charge rate of your sword. This is huge because you'll be able to use your heavy attack MUCH MORE FREQUENTLY. Any arc mod in that slot will do, but that one seemed the most likely to give an edge benefit to the build since we're running a pulse rifle. Extra discipline mods can only help, especially if you're having difficulty getting your grenades back frequently enough. If you don't want to or can't afford to masterwork your armor, consider farming the Every Waking Moment void SMG from the moon to get a roll with Demolitionist.

    Conclusion

I think this build will be very strong and fun to play in general to mid-tier PvE content. I don't think this alone will help folks solo GM Nightfalls or anything, but the mod combinations do open up more options for weapon loadouts while countering all champions. Based on my survivability in the Contact public event when I was only at power level 1020 (event at 1040), I think this will be immensely helpful to successfully completing that event heroic and farming Umbral engrams.

Let me know your thoughts or ideas for your own takes on this build. I made this primarily for solo play, but I'm sure there are iterations for fireteam play using the Powerful Friends mod from season 9.

Prophecy Dungeon Only Available During Season of Arrivals

    Posted: 11 Jun 2020 11:23 AM PDT

Video on Bungie's official Youtube states:

The Pyramid ships are approaching, and you must venture into new and uncharted lands. Enter the realm of the IX – a dimension where the rules of your world no longer exist. Face hordes of Taken and manipulate reality to solve intricate puzzles. What was once above is now below. And what was once Light is now Dark. *Dungeon only available during Season of Arrivals.

So... they made a Dungeon that is tied to the Tower and they are removing it after this season?

    Why...

This seems very contradictory to the less FOMO Luke Smith spoke about

If Mars is getting vaulted, can we have bad luck protection on Override Frequencies and Sleeper Nodes?

    Posted: 11 Jun 2020 09:15 AM PDT

I've been stuck at 39/40 forever and would like to play new content instead of grinding Mars nonstop until DCV kicks in to hopefully get the last node.

I have tried full consumables tab, combining stems in orbit, and combining in Mindlab (I need Dynamo.Core.Observation) and none of these methods have worked.

Prophecy Dungeon Confirmed to Leave But Will Return

    Posted: 11 Jun 2020 06:54 PM PDT

This is what the French Community Manager had to say.

Here is the tweet where it was first mentioned.

Assuming this is true, I still don't understand why it would leave in the first place unless it is somehow updated.

Bungie's response: We're making some under-the-hood changes to how activities function when Season 12 launches (which we hope results in no noticeable changes in the activities themselves). Unfortunately, that change means our newest pinnacle activity - Prophecy – may have to take a season off before it returns. We're working to bring it back as quickly as we can.

Yeah, I find this pretty unfortunate. The French CM seemed to suggest it would be gone for a short period of time but this could be 3 months.

Make the Loot Cave in the Cosmodrome in D2 a lost sector named "The Loot Cave"

    Posted: 11 Jun 2020 12:28 AM PDT

This would be a pretty fun reference to the nostalgic times in Destiny 1, Year 1. It would also just be a decent location for a lost sector too

Dear Bungie, thank you for turning Trinity’s Ghoul from zero to hero

    Posted: 11 Jun 2020 02:07 PM PDT

The title sums it up but this catalyst is a fantastic example of a game changer able to turn one of the least used exotics to one of the best!!! I've tested Trinity here and there trying to fit it in a loadout before the update but now it's absolutely fantastic!!! I hope to see more like this one in the future and I am curios to see other people's thought in it.

Bungie, you should reprise Coldheart as a Stasis trace rifle in Year 4

    Posted: 11 Jun 2020 12:26 PM PDT

I feel like a lot of people don't use this thing much anymore, so maybe with Beyond Light you could introduce an Exotic quest to alter the former Arc trace rifle into a new and better Stasis one. Besides, Coldheart already has an ice-like motif, and from what little we've seen of the Stasis subclass and damage type, it's got an ice-like design and effect. I think it'd be a good and fun way to show some love for one of the original D2 exotics that A LOT of us ran for DPS in Vanilla.

EDIT I regret this post cause all day I've been getting people either shitting on this idea or "Um, actually-"ing me about the weapon's cooling system giving it its name. But those of you who either agree with me or disagree and just think they should make a new Stasis trace rifle, thanks for being civil. 👍

I would be more inclined to buy Ghost a Shells if they acted like ornaments instead. But because my ugly shell has ‘Guiding Light’ perk on it, it won’t ever be replaced. Bungo please?

    Posted: 11 Jun 2020 12:22 PM PDT

I have the Gilded Shell for donating to Bungies charity, and while it is a really nice looking shell and the money went to a good cause. I just won't ever equip it because why would I ever replace the 10% xp gains?

If ghost shells were ornaments, I feel that would be a better incentive to buy more. Possibly add Ghost Mods to pick and choose rolls perhaps from perks you have obtained?

Edit: of course I botched the title

Hot take. Savathun doesn't want us communing with the dark because she knows we'll become too powerful to stop.

    Posted: 11 Jun 2020 03:53 PM PDT

The darkness seems like it wants us to become the final shape, with darkness and light. Savathun wants a murder battery via the dreaming city to rival the darkness.

Returning eververse sets being the ones sold for dust while the new sets are inside activities is a FANTASTIC move Bungie.

    Posted: 11 Jun 2020 09:17 AM PDT

Seriously, I can't be the only one that absolutely loves this compared to previous seasons. For those who don't know, the Intrepid sets have returned and will be sold for dust throughout the season now that the Daito sets are in the new dungeon. If this is one of the steps being taken to reduce FOMO, I am 100% on board.

Seven years on, I still wish we saw each other's ships zoom by when people spawn into patrol spaces.

    Posted: 11 Jun 2020 03:05 AM PDT

Way back in E3 2013 other players spawned in like this. (and again at 8:45)

I think it adds so much. It shows off your ship more, plus makes more prominent the fact that we have to get in our ships and go places. Plus, at the end of the day, it's way cooler than just the magical appearing on the side of a hill.

If you unlocked the curated Bad Omens from Gambit go buy a new one from the Drifter

    Posted: 11 Jun 2020 06:45 AM PDT

If you buy the curated Bad Omens it does come as 750 but can max at 1360 because of the new emblem. Even better if you get a higher power level one you can do a direct infusion with glimmer.

Easy way to get a heavy with a great roll that will last a while.

A reminder: Lorebooks that are not released in game are spoilers too. Tag accordingly.

    Posted: 11 Jun 2020 05:41 AM PDT

Been seeing a lot of spoilers from the new Lorebooks which popped up on Ishtar Collective. As these are not in game yet and spoil much of the story this season let's try to keep discussion to dedicated threads and tag any comments with spoiler tags so players who want to go unspoiled can stay that way.

For those that need a refresher on spoiler tagging the syntax is as follows:

    >!Spoiler Stuff goes inside here!<

    And it looks like this:

    Spoiler stuff goes inside here

If you're on new reddit with the Fancy editor you can do them through there too.

Edit: Appreciate everyone using the thread to get used to spoiler formatting. I will keep trying to respond to people to let them know it's working.

[Spoilers] What if when we go back to the Cosmodrome, we meet Uldren and get that scraped D1 cutscene.

    Posted: 11 Jun 2020 03:35 PM PDT

Not sure if these are spoilers so I tagged it just in case.

I'm talking about this classic for those uninitiated. With how Uldren has shaped out and given we have at least 3 more years of destiny content, an interaction like this isn't as out of character as it used to be.

Bringing back old weapons with the same rolls makes sunsetting pointless

    Posted: 11 Jun 2020 09:05 AM PDT

Out of the 22 weapons for this season, only 6 of them are new (not including the 2 new exotics).

Some of the recycled weapons were only released with Season of the Drifter 1 year ago, and they are already back.

They are the exact same weapon. They don't have new perks or anything. Literally the exact same.

This makes sunsetting pointless. Your gun from 1 year ago is sunset in September, but the gun you got this season, which is the same gun, is not sunset until next year. THEY ARE THE SAME EXACT GUN!

They are literally reselling us back our guns and they aren't even waiting a decent amount of time to do it.

The seraph shotgun you grinded for in Season of the Worthy will be sunset next spring, but the exact same Seraph Shotgun you get this season will be sunset 1 season after that, even though they are the same exact gun!

This is ridiculous. This makes zero sense.

That world loot engram is the large majority of guns for this season. Next season it will be full of other guns we already got. They are using this engram to dilute the pool and make it seem like they are adding enough weapons, but they are just the exact guns we already grinded for.

This would be fine if they had new perk combinations but they dont!

This is awful. Next year will just be full of guns we already got, only the ones we have for some reason will not be usable. The "new" ones will be usable, even though they are the exact same.

This is super shady. This just turns sunsetting, which is positive, into a terrible tactic by Bungie.

It is truly disappointing that our guardian has gone back to be in mute.

    Posted: 11 Jun 2020 03:55 AM PDT

Remember when forsaken dropped and we said a few lines a dialogue we were like 'Yes Bungie has listened!' Since then our Ghosts takes part in every major story line while we stand there and nod.
Nothing rips you out of the immersion more than a full cutscene followed with us standing there completely silent nodding. It would be better if we weren't there at all.

Can people just admit they want to pubstomp? It's pathetic watching good players pretend this is about anything else

    Posted: 11 Jun 2020 06:06 PM PDT

I get it. Pubstomping is fun. Just admit that's your primary reason for hating SBMM and at least other people will respect your honesty.

We already had a casual playlist that was purely connection based, there was no need to rip out SBMM in every other playlist as well.

And look I can more than hold my own, I will "benefit" from this change as much as many other people who regularly don't get to play the bottom half of the skill bracket in this game. But there's more to this game than just stroking my own fucking ego, beating up on people who play video games far less than me because I can't deal with the absolute horror of having to play people around my own skill level.

Bad news however... while the vocal minority crybabies get what they want again at the expense of the greater good, you'll quickly chase all the lower skill players out of PVP altogether (just like Classic Mix did, just like Trials did) and be right back where you started. And for what?

Will the Exo Stranger recognise Veteran accounts?

    Posted: 11 Jun 2020 06:43 AM PDT

    Title.

    This just crossed my mind.

Obviously, the Exo Stranger encountered us in D1: on the Moon, then on Venus and Finally in the Tower when she handed us her rifle. Will she recognise this come September?

If she does, please for the love of the Architects. Find a way to combined my Xbox Account with my PC account so I can have my Veteran status back, I honestly couldn't care less about my Collections on Xbox anymore.

There must be a way on Bungie.net to see on someone's profile that they have Veteran status on one of their accounts, it should be a feature when you link it to the seventh column that we are Veterans. I mean I've had a Bungie account since the Halo 2/3 days and been with Destiny since 2014.

I shouldn't be punished for changing my platform before Cross-save came about.

Please, make sure she recognises the Guardian. And please, let her remember me come September.
