Why is Bungie still so insistent on being in a Fireteam for everything but barely any matchmaking is going on?

    Posted: 08 Feb 2021 03:30 PM PST

I was doing some of the Splintered Title that I've missed since I took a month or so away from the game and I just realised a few things that I need for the title:

    Fallen Brig Brigade:

Defeat 50 Fallen Brigs as a Fireteam

Now "As a Fireteam" is the key here, you have to do the Public Event, which is rare itself, kill the 3-4 Brigs in each one, in a Fireteam!

As a solo player generally, this has to be a joke right? This is some way of grinding out this, I guess I should LFG once a day and get it done, but still annoying

So then I looked further, to get the Europan Collector Collection Badge, you need the Ship " Last Flight Home " 2 of the Triumphs for the Triumph score to get this Ship are based on being in a Fireteam, granted I could just do a Flawless EH or Summon all 3 Archons and kill within 90 Seconds instead.

Now this sounds like a Rant, but its not, its just strange to me that a season/expansion that introduced things like Solo Master Lost Sectors and Titles where a Solo Dungeon need to be completed, has these strange requirements

And don't get me started on needing 4 pieces of Armor from Variks, I only get bloody Legs it seems

At this point why is artifact power even still a thing?

    Posted: 08 Feb 2021 07:42 AM PST

It is turned off for trials and iron banner, and it had no effect on your power level when the worlds first race was going on. What is the point of even having it? Why do I have to do bounties every day for the next six weeks so that I can unlock GrandMaster Content again just because they raised the power cap when I can do them right now. It makes no sense. Getting reset every season is becoming exhausting when it happens every couple months.

Starting tomorrow Rocket Launchers days are numbered. How long will it take for Bungie to nerf them due to their usage rate?

    Posted: 08 Feb 2021 09:26 AM PST

So when do you think Bungie will nerf rocket launchers because everybody is using them because they nerfed everything else and buffed them? How long will it take them to use the tried and true excuse that they are overrepresented and/or overused while ignoring the fact that 95 percent of heavy weapons regardless of archetype suck due to bungie's constantly rotating nerf schedule?

To the person who just wanted new IKELOS weapons, I agree and have been 3D designing some over the last year for fun!

    Posted: 08 Feb 2021 01:52 PM PST

    https://imgur.com/a/rEAXCXm

Really wanted to try and resurrect old modeling skills during down times this last year and was disappointed with Season of the Blah Blah sometime back, so I decided to start building some new IKELOS weapons because I absolutely love the aesthetics! Got a sidearm here that could be based around a new cool-down weapon archetype where there's no reload, but it overheats if fired too quickly. Also got an exotic sword concept that creates a ground slam AOE effect that chains some deadly Rasputin power from enemy to enemy. More than anything, just really enjoyed building something in that amazing aesthetic! Lighting and environment could still using some lovin'. Working on a rocket launcher next, feel free to follow on Instagram for future designs:

Considering how artifact mods cannot stack, it doesn’t make sense to limit us to only 12 artifact mod purchases.

    Posted: 08 Feb 2021 04:56 PM PST

I can't really wrap my head around this decision the more I think about it. I'm not quite sure what the intention was here at limiting the amount of artifact mods we can purchase when they can't even stack.

To add insult to injury, the cost increases with each artifact reset.... so why?

What are your thoughts? Ideally it'd be great if we could just unlock every artifact mod, but for mystical reasons that will forever be unknown to us this won't happen.

I continue to have synesthesia. Here's a painting of Regicide. :)

This one made my head hurt. Awesome piece of music though!

Prior Destiny songs I've painted: Deep Stone Lullaby // Journey

    What is chromesthesia?

Athanasia, The Man They Called Cayde and Watchtower (Last Wish track) are next in line. :) I'll try to do one or two of these a week, if I can, work allowing.

Who are you?: I'm Rune! IGN: Lumina. I main middle-tree Dawnblade on PC, and I'm an illustrator for TTRPGs. :)

We should be able to fully unlock the seasonal artifact

    Posted: 08 Feb 2021 07:49 AM PST

I feel like this would add more variety and customization. Each season, I never try out half the mods because I don't want to reset and unlock the same things but with just a variation or two. Why not just take the limit off and reward players that keep grinding?

Edit: Obligatory clan shoutout to Troy's Bucket. I just joined up this past summer and have never had more fun playing Destiny!

On the dawn of new season, I reached my 1,000,000th kill in the game. Thanks for the thousands in hours of entertainment, Bungie.

    Posted: 08 Feb 2021 08:38 AM PST

    Big numbers go woosh.

I'm aware people have gotten higher, but it's always cool reaching these milestones. Sure this game has some work to do, but next season is sounding pretty good. Let's see what it has in store for us.

And in case you're wondering, I made my 1,000,000th kill totally worth it. Hello Randall.

    I’m so excited for tomorrow!

    Posted: 08 Feb 2021 06:22 PM PST

Obviously season of the hunt wasn't the best season ever, but with everything going on in the world I don't blame bungie for anything. I started playing destiny about a year ago and have been hooked on it ever since. I am really excited to see what next season brings and check out all the new weapons the game has to offer.

With time, hopefully bungie is able to address some of the issues with the game, but for now I just want to enjoy the game for what it is.

I'm thankful for the community and thankful for the friends that I have to play the game with.

    Y'all rock. ❤️

Just beat Harbinger Solo without dying. Took me 2 hours 30 minutes. I’m so glad I got it done.

    Posted: 08 Feb 2021 02:42 PM PST

I've done Harbinger many times, of course, but I've never run it solo or run it without dying before. I wanted to see if I could clutch the Triumphs before the Season ended. With a LOT of patience, hit-and-runs, and Nightstalker cloaking, I finally managed to take those two final bosses down.

A part of me was worried that I'd slip up on something stupid like the jump puzzle, but I only died once the whole time, and that was at the very beginning when I stupidly missed the branch. All I had to do was restart it, then I was able to get through it all on the second attempt.

I didn't look at any strategies going into it. I figured I'd wing it (get it, cuz Hawkmoon?), and luckily, all I really needed was to take my time, kill adds first, use a sniper for the Arc shields on the boss, then keep ducking out, shooting, dodging into cloak, and running.

If anyone's curious as to how I did it, I can post my full gear. Obviously, I used Nightstalker and Stomp's for jumping and to allow me to get up high away from Champions and bosses. But I don't own Xenophage, so instead I just used my Thermal Erosion for Solar heavy. Otherwise, I just used my Hawkmoon and Seven Seraph SMG (for Arc shields) until the final encounter where I used Adored (it was the only Masterworked Arc Sniper I had). So, yeah, not the speedrunner's choice, just whatever I had for PvE usually.

Anyway, I know people probably don't care to see this, but I just wanted to let someone know. It feels good to have that done.

EDIT: Thanks for all the support, guys. [Insert "I'm so proud of this community" meme here]. And thank you to the kind redditors who deigned this post worthy of an award, thus proving that bragging is always a good thing. /s

Much love to you, fellow Guardians. See y'all in Season of the Chosen.

Does Bungie understand having multiple viable choices in the heavy slot isn't power creep but actual balance?

    Posted: 07 Feb 2021 11:11 PM PST

I have watched heavy weapon archetype after archetype be nerfed with only 1-2 viable options to replace them.

I'm looking at rocket launchers getting buffed wondering if in a season or two they will revert the change to buff linear fusion rifle crit multiplier or something. Then just keep rotating to only have one viable option so we always have to grind.

And I'm sorry but this seems so backwards. Why not have multiple viable heavy weapons so I am not farming one god roll that becomes unviable and getting frustrated but instead have the enjoyment of getting a god roll for a weapon I rarely use but is just as viable or fits my play style better.

I understand power creep can be bad but this current hamster wheel is seriously burning out your player base especially when you add on Sunsetting lurking over every gun with it's maximum shelf life on arrival.

Increasing rocket damage and reserves won't make me use them over a sword if they still only have one in the tube

    Posted: 08 Feb 2021 03:56 PM PST

I feel like the feedback of "Give me more than one rocket per reload" has been getting passed along since D2 vanilla and we've seen both a reserve and damage buff instead of what's been asked for.

I'd rather not have the buff or the extra reserves if it meant having two in the tube or god forbid Tripod ever came back as a perk.

    Posted: 08 Feb 2021 07:37 AM PST

Hand cannons are cool and all, but please... We have enough exotic hand cannons in the game right now, and we haven't had a BRAND NEW exotic pulse rifle since the launch of d2.

With a new season and ornaments on the way, be sure to check TodayInDestiny before you buy/spend silver for something. You might be able to get it with in-game currency.

    Posted: 08 Feb 2021 02:38 AM PST

TodayInDestiny is an awesome site that has all of the daily/weekly rotation info you need, like which Altars of Sorrows weapon is dropping, Legendary/master lost sectors, etc. It'll probably be useful for targeting things with the upcoming battleground activities as well.

However, they also have Eververse weekly projections. This tells you which items will be sold and what you can buy with bright dust WEEKS IN ADVANCE. For example, when I got my Hawkmoon, I really wanted the Hawkmoon ornaments. The wood-handled one looked specifically nice. Sure enough, all I had to do was wait until 01/19/2021. GGS; waited a couple weeks and got my ornament for bright dust; not a dime spent on silver :)

If you don't want to wait until the ass-end of the season for some stuff, I get it. But if you have patience or are on a budget, this should help!

    Edits:

Note: Bungie can change things from costing bright dust to silver at any time, which happened with the xeno and monte carlo dawning ornaments this season. (thanks /u/Uniquewaz)

Loot pool in Black Armary is the best time we've had.

    Posted: 08 Feb 2021 06:58 PM PST

We had great weapons even more than the bad ones.

Nice perk pools, creative perk combination and awsome look and sound.

I really think now they're over supressing the power creep of weapon since shadowkeep (while they failed to control the power creep of subclass whoop).

With less than 24 hours left to Season of the Chosen, here's a recap of everything announced by Bungie leading up to S13

    Posted: 08 Feb 2021 09:16 AM PST

Initially wrote this for my clan but would be a good reference point to post here.

    1) Reissued DC/Moon Armor + 4 weapons from each location

    • Dreaming City

    a) Waking Vigil (140 HC)

    b) Sleepless (Rocket)

    c) Vouchsafe (200 Scout)

    d) Retold Tale (Precision Frame [Non Slug] Void Shotgun)

    • Moon

    a) Premonition (Pulse, Pit Drop Only)

    b) Heretic (Rocket)

    c) Blasphemer (Slug Shotgun, Kinetic)

    d) Apostate (Rapid Fire Sniper)

    2) Updates/Changes to Shattered Throne/Pit of Heresy

    • Pit's final chest no longer drops a masterworked armor. Class item does not drop from this chest anymore.

    • Instead, this final chest drops a 7 energy armor with guaranteed +16 stat spikes in two different categories and higher stats overall.

    • All armor drops from Pit/Shattered Throne are 'high stat'

    • All weapon drops from Pit/Shattered Throne can roll with perks outside of the world drop loot pool.

    3) Expanded Legendary Lost Sector rotation to Moon Lost Sectors.

    • This will also arrive with three new exotic armor pieces, one for each class, exclusive to Legendary Lost Sector completions (similar to the Beyond Light exotics like Necrotic Grip).

    4) Crucible Tokens are dead. Progression from rank up rewards will be given at tower with Shaxx instead of automatically in between matches.

    • For the first rank max-out of the season, the reward will be an ascendant shard. After resetting, this becomes an Exotic Engram.

    5) All of Season of the Hunt Content will remain after the season ends except for the following items

    • Fang of Xivu Arath Seasonal Artifact (duh)

    • Season Pass for Season 12

    • Crow's Bounties (can still acquire from Crow after the seasonal reset)

    • Messages from the Field

    6) Umbral Engrams and Prismatic Recaster will make a return. Almost exactly the same as Season of Arrivals (S11)'s system. Drop rates are reduced and new methods of focusing the engram will be released.

    7) Gilded Titles will become accessible.

    • These are titles which can be obtained after the initial title.

    • These will have a different colour.

    • To gild a title, you must complete objectives in addition to the base title.

    • Gilding lasts for the season it is gilded in. After that it will be reset.

    • A small pip will show others how many times you have gilded the title in the past.

    • The following Titles will be available to be gilded once S13 drops.

    a) Flawless (Trials)

    b) Conquerer (GM Nightfalls)

    c) Unbroken (Comp PvP)

    d) Dredgen (Gambit)

    8) Seasonal Challenges

    • Weekly bounties are dead. Instead, the system to earn XP and bright dust per week will shift to a challenges system akin to Apex Legends' Season pass.

    • Completing specific objectives will allow you to claim these challenges.

    • Challenges will run from weeks 1-10. Challenges from prior weeks will remain available.

    • The total amount of bright dust obtained will change slightly to approx. 34k.

    • This amount will be easier to reach with one character than in previous seasons (approx. 25k on one character, 34k is for all 3).

    9) Nightfall Weapons

    • The following weapons have made a return.

    a) The Swarm (Heavy Machine Gun)

    b) Palindrome (Hand Cannon)

    c) Shadow Price (Auto Rifle)

    • Nightfall Adepts can drop from Grandmaster Nightfalls when they release later during the season.

    10) New Pursuit Weapon

    • Similar to Adored, can choose your path to acquire it, be it Strikes, Crucible or Gambit.

    • [Speculation] This season's one is likely to be a Mountaintop replacement sort of. It is confirmed as a Breech Loaded Special GL but the speculation is that it's kinetic as seen here

    11) Trials is getting new armor and weapons as well as ship, sparrow, and ghost shell.

    12) Aeon Cult buff.

    13) Catalysts from a bunch of older weapons will return, including but not limited to

    • Worldline Zero

    • Legend of Acrius

    • Telesto

    and many more.

    == New Content begins here==

    14) Battlegrounds Seasonal Activity

    15) New Strike (Proving Grounds)

    16) Reprised Strikes (Devil's Lair and Fallen S.A.B.E.R.)

    17) H.E.L.M. and Hammer of Proving

    18) New Stasis Aspects

    19) Two new exotic weapons. One from season pass and one from quest

    • Season Pass: Ticuu's Divination, Solar Bow.

    • Quest: Unknown, Tex Mechanica is shown on the Season page on bungie.net. Speculation is currently First Curse. Could also be something new entirely.

    20) New Seasonal Weapons and Armor

Edit 1: Zen Meteor is not a Tex Mechanica weapon.

Edit 2: 21) Two new weapons added per core playlist. Two for Crucible (like Stars in Shadow), two for Vanguard Strikes (like Xenoclast IV), and two for Gambit (like Crowd Pleaser) for a total of 6 weapons.

Edit 3: Added clarification under 3) for new exotics

Edit 4: Added clarification under 10) that Salvager's Salvo is only speculated to be kinetic.

Edit 5: 22) New Europa Landing Zone button (please let it be in Riis-Reborn Approach or Technocrat's Iron)

    submitted by /u/RayDiatris

There were no good transparent images of the three Stasis Super icons, so I went ahead and recreated them

    Posted: 08 Feb 2021 05:16 PM PST

    Glacial Quake, Behemoth Titan.

    Silence and Squall, Revenant Hunter.

    Winter's Wrath, Shadebinder Warlock.

And just for fun, House Salvation's insignia.

I did post these on some Discord servers a while ago, so if you think I stole these I did not. I am the one who created these vector replicas. I probably should have uploaded these here a long time ago.

Grab all Season of Arrivals Season Pass loot before its disabled

    Posted: 08 Feb 2021 09:01 AM PST

Just a reminder that there's a function on Bungies site to grab any items from the Season Pass from last season you didn't claim on alt characters. Only items you've leveled to, but if you've been neglecting your alts (as I have) you can still grab things for them. Since they drop 'at-light' you'll be able to level them a bit too.

All resources are once per account, but the armor and ornaments are once per character (at least if you have different class characters, not sure about the same class).

    You can access it here.

Don't be like me and forget to get all the armor ornaments on your characters you haven't dusted off in a while, and miss out on those dope Season of Undying and Dawn ornaments.

The glassway boss fight should be the model for all strikes going forward.

    Posted: 08 Feb 2021 07:50 PM PST

A large area with different rooms so you can hide from ads and have cover. The boss fight in the GM was intense as hell. Challenging, but fair because at least you could get cover somewhere. Nothing infuriates me like high level content where you can be 1 shot and the boss fight is in a big, open area with little to no cover. Model strikes boss fights after glassway going forward.

Can we go back to a useful icon next to player's names..... like their subclass or gear rank? Their rank on the season pass is probably the least helpful item in any activity.

Aside from saying "damn, dude is level 800 on the pass and must have baked a shitload of cookies" or "this level 1 just bought the game, and his first destination to visit is Nessus?", the rank on the season pass is probably the least informative stat other players look for.

Subclass would be nice, similar to the crucible icons at the top of the screen. That way we know in strikes if someone has a well or dawnblade. Or we can laugh at our friends rolling into a GMNF forgetting he's spectral blades instead of a tether.

Or gear score.......... in case some blueberry decides to wear his 1050 gear into Gambit and tries to babysit the portal to invade.

Some crucible gods might even be able to pick up on an icon in a fight and change strategies..... like knowing who has a super on match point in trials simply by seeing the icon & calling them out.

The icon isn't going to give a player's entire gaming history or tell us how well they play the game.............. but ANYTHING is better than the season pass number.
