There have been great, unbelievable days and dark, dark days (I won't repeat myself, but the closing of Director's Cut, Pt. 3 touches on it), and in five years, A LOT has changed from September 9, 2014 – you, me, the Bungie team, Destiny, and the world. During 2019, we've developed and shared a clarity of vision we've never had before in Destiny. We're finally going to make the Destiny 2 we've always wanted to make—one world that you and your friends are going to meaningfully change and make memories in. This year, our team has felt the full weight of what we're responsible for (even on your worst days in the game, no one is harder on us than ourselves). But we now have a unified purpose. A calling. October 1st is the first step toward what we want Destiny 2 to become. Everything we're doing this fall is more than just any one part – it is Destiny 2 fundamentally evolving and in some ways starting new. It's Shadowkeep, it's New Light, it's Cross Save, it's you, me, and our friends together. It's all of it. This isn't just the next chapter of Destiny 2, but the next chapter of us. Tomorrow, that journey begins again for all of us and many, many others. These past few months have been awesome with you. Thanks for being the bright points of light shining in the night. You are Destiny's stars. Collection of selected guidesHey Guardians, we're in the final stretch! Leading up to the launch of Shadowkeep, Destiny servers (including Destiny 1) will be down for an expected time of 24 hours and 15 minutes, but may be subject to extension. Maintenance is expected to begin when this thread is one hour old. During maintenance, Shadowkeep will become available to download on consoles. The maintenance will end with the launch of Shadowkeep.

"What are you thinking about?" The Ghost asks. "September's almost over." The Guardian replies in a worrying tone. "Indeed it is." The Ghost says. "Is that important?" "Is it- is it important?!" The Guardian turns to their ghost. "Haven't you noticed?" "Noticed?" The Ghost ask, perplexed. "Is there something important about September?" The Guardian sighs. "Ok, Ghost, you see..." The Ghost chuckles. "Are you being serious? Of course I've noticed. World ending threats always seem to show up in September." "So you did notice, you little flashlight." There are no active servers. Everyone's been kicked out of this living, breathing world. It seems like only yesterday I would log in, run to the tower, pick up bounties, and see what my friends were doing. Now, they're nowhere to be seen. Unable to continue their grind. I can't say that I blame them. We've been playing Destiny for five years now. Maybe it is time to move on. Maybe it is time to find something new. But, who will be there to vanquish the hordes of Vex? Kill off the legions of Cabal? Destroy the masses of Fallen? Who will stand up for our brethren who have passed before us and never returned? Who fight for the blueberries wandering around without a sense of what to do or where to go? Who will prevent them from destroying those Spider Tanks before we can make the event go heroic? We will be there to remember the legendary battles at Six Fronts and Twilight Gap? What about the Reef Wars, the Taken War, or even the Eliksni siege? Who will be there to speculate about the fate of the Traveler, the Pyramid ships, or the fate or the Stranger, Prince Uldren and his sister the Queen? So, whether we wanted it or not, we've stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let's get to taking out their command one by one. Valus Ta'aurc. From what I can gather, he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial land tank outside Rubicon. He's well protected. But with the right team we can punch through their defenses, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold. We've fought back the Red Legion. We've vanquished an Ahamkara . We've quarantined SIVA. Hell, we've slayed gods! Let us pick up our arms once again, Guardian! Grab your friends, your clan-mates, and maybe even some blueberries along the way!
