Sunday Plz - Bring back the Prismatic Matrix! Posted: 11 Jul 2021 10:00 AM PDT Greetings Guardians! Ever since the conception of this sub, we've dealt with floods of reposts. We're sure you're familiar with them. Many are for important issues that are shared by the entire player base, while others are just for personal requests and desires for the game. The Bungie Plz was shortly implemented after conception as a central "wish-list" for all that we, the community, desired. It is completely user driven. With rare exceptions, nearly all submissions are sent in by you, the users of this subreddit! However, just like Destiny 2, our wiki article began to experience problems as it grew over time. It's been getting just a few sizes too big. We understand that the continued addition of topics has begun to encroach on your ability to continue the conversation towards matters that mean the most to you, and even though the Bungie Plz has seen so many successes over the years, with well over 100 officially implemented game suggestions and desires, there's still dozens upon dozens of retired topics that haven't seen the light of day for many months...even years! Every Sunday, this thread will focus on a certain retired Bungie Plz topic of your choosing, voted by the users. We will curate a list of 5 suggestions to help focus your voting process, but you get the final say on what is talked about each week. By all means, if one topic is overwhelmingly desired despite not being part of those 5 items we picked, then we'll be happy to go with that one. Our curated list is only to help you focus the conversation. The only stipulation is that the topic must be new every week. This thread is for the entirety of the Bungie Plz wiki, so no back-to-back voting! Think of these threads as a way to keep the spark alive, and to bring old topics up to fresh light. For example, do we still want to move Queenbreaker to the special slot? Or does Arbalest serve that purpose well enough now? Do we still want an all-black shader, or do we want to bring back Prismatic Matrix? You tell us! This is your conversation, guardians. For this week, you voted on: Bring back the Prismatic MatrixFor next week, here are some suggestions:
Sound off in the sticky comment for which one sounds good (just give us a moment to put it up), or anything else in the Bungie Plz wiki that catches your eye, and we'll do our best to accommodate! [link] [comments] |

Idk if it's just me, but it always makes me smile when my fire team of three is one of each class. Posted: 11 Jul 2021 06:25 PM PDT A Warlock, a Hunter, and a Titan. Perfectly balanced. [link] [comments] |
Solstice of Heroes just Feels Better this Year Posted: 11 Jul 2021 05:48 PM PDT I just finished my third character and knocked out two masterworked pieces and I spent maybe 8-10 hours total for all three sets. It was much longer in years past. The changes made this year are just enough grinding, in my humble opinion. Good job Bungie! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 11 Jul 2021 07:31 AM PDT I was just thinking back to the previous two years of the seasonal model and how those content drops were received, and comparatively, this season is doing so much better than the previous content drops we would usually get around this time. (Note that for this comparison I'm going to focus on PVE almost exclusively. I can understand why people are miffed at the PVP sandbox and lack of map variety right now.) Examples to follow, with the first and last season listed first before the middle season to get a better sense of how the middle season was lacking in comparison. (Exception being the Y4 seasons, because obviously.) Post Forsaken Season of the Forge: - Brought a new PVE activity that rewarded infinitely grindable weapons and armor - New and intricate exotic quests - Niobe Labs - New raid - Izanagi's Burden, Le Monarque, Jotunn, Anarchy, Last Word Season of Opulence: - Brought maybe the best recieved matchmade PVE activity ever brought to the game - Introduced tribute hall - New raid - Bad Juju, Truth, Lumina, Tarrabah Season of the Drifter - Gambit Prime - Reckoning, I guess - Zero Hour (which was pretty cool tbh) - Thorn, Arbalest, Outbreak Perfected That was kinda it for Drifter, and many people, including myself, kinda just checked out for that Season. Same with post Shadowkeep: Post Shadowkeep: Season of Dawn: - An engaging new PVE activity (though not menagerie) - A CONSEQUENTIAL and INTERESTING story regarding Saint-14 - An extremely elaborate secret puzzle (even if the only reward was bastion) - Symmetry, Devil's Ruin, Bastion Season of Arrivals: - A relatively fun, but not taxing PVE event (Contact) - An extremely engaging story, finally setting up the damn pyramids from Shadowkeep as an active threat - Engrams you can focus to target certain gear drops (THANK YOU BUNGIE) - New Dungeon - Witherhoard, Traveler's Chosen, Ruinous Effigy Season of the Worthy - A tedious and boring public event - Lackluster legendary lost sectors - A felwinter's quest that the community refused to do - 4th Horseman, Tommy's Matchbook, Heir Apparent - Do I need to keep typing this? It was season of the worthy. And once again, in the middle of the year, I checked out of the game. I'm sure many of you did too. Season of the Splicer is the first mid-year season that has kept me continually engaged. (So far. I'll address that in a moment.) Post Beyond Light: Season of the Chosen:
Season of the Splicer:
Now Season of the Splicer isn't perfect. Of the seasons listed here, I would put it fourth out of the list. It has problems that we should expect Bungie to address in the future, such as the stale upgrade model, lack of variety in the seasonal activities, so on and so forth. However, I find myself engaged in both the seasonal gameplay loop and, more importantly, the story for the first time since the seasonal model was introduced back in Forsaken. It is also the first time a raid has been introduced in the second season, which has been huge for replayability. I have to applaud Bungie for this season. So far. This may very well be a different conversation in August, as content begins to dry up and we are all just waiting for the story to conclude. I have my doubts that once I get my Splicer title and get all the Splicer God rolls I want, that the activity and the season will hold my attention for any longer. But for now, good job Bungie. Can't wait to see what Season 15/Witch Queen has to offer. Edit: Holy shit this blew up. Thanks for the awards. To address a couple things I was seeing: I didn't include Hunt or Undying in this comparison because they were both relatively inconsequential and launched alongside a major expansion. I hope I am correct in saying most people would put those below all the seasons listed above. I have been seeing people list stuff that was included that I missed, I'm fixing those as I see them so that this is a relatively fair representation of these seasons. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 11 Jul 2021 12:43 PM PDT The looter shooter design is a blessing and a curse. It somewhat keeps the player in game and makes it feel much more alive, and more often than not unites us to accomplish goals. Yet this sub seems like they're held at gunpoint to have everything as fast as they can. Seasonal XP, power leveling, even speedrunning the playlist activities. It really seems everyone skips the story to reach the end, and then asks themselves why the game is so empty (when it's really not) But this isnt without blame on Bungie. Too many timers and RNG slowly feed the gaming worms in most players brains where they get frustrated and angry at the game for not getting everything fast, and it is known most AAA studios (Bungie included) employ psychologists to keep the player engaged. I'm not downplaying the discussion surrounding the game, because bending over backwards to a studio only does more harm to the game, however so many around here act like they're miserable over the game and thats concerning. Admittedly I have found pride on getting the seasonal titles and ornaments from the pass, a reminder or a souvenir from a time I was playing, something that many would describe as FOMO. Cosmetics shouldn't really be a reason to throw a tantrum, however Bungie went a little too far with this with Felwinters Lie not being available for nearly half a year, a shotgun that truly stood above others. If Bungie parted ways with the season pass model for Year 5, I would definetly not miss it. The rewards are cool, but at the same time ruins a much more enjoyable slow paced game. Destiny is beautiful. The universe, the lore, the action, the activities... but it sometimes puts too much focus elsewhere. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 11 Jul 2021 08:03 PM PDT I know it's only the season of the Splicer one but I'm thrilled, I've only been playing for a couple months and I've just finished this title tonight. [link] [comments] |
Crucible, Gambit, and Vanguard should have playlist weapon bounties Posted: 11 Jul 2021 11:34 AM PDT Title. Grinding for things like Bottom Dollar or Xenoclast IV is tough, especially when most drops in these activities are blues. Given that the playlist weapons (not including Trials or Nightfall weapons of course) have massive perk pools, it would probably be better for the vendors to have weapon-specific bounties. These could have objectives like "Complete one strike and kill 100 enemies," or "Invade and kill 4 Guardians," or "Capture 10 zones." What do y'all think? [link] [comments] |
Less shiny shaders, bring back the simple overall coloured shaders like in D1. Posted: 11 Jul 2021 01:01 PM PDT |
I think clash should be brought back as a regular gamemode Posted: 11 Jul 2021 06:32 AM PDT Not because I actually want to play clash (I don't), but because every other goddamn person on my team seams to have no interest in playing control, so we might as well give them a mode where ignoring the objective isn't even possible. I am COMPLETELY blown away by this game! (In the best way) Posted: 11 Jul 2021 09:16 PM PDT My buddy always suggests games to play on Game Pass. I played the original Destiny once or twice, ages ago. We were tired of going up and down in Rocket League, so he suggested Destiny 2. I was super apprehensive about it. I heard it was good but wasn't sure it's my style. I WAS SO FUCKING WRONG! We've been playing for about 3-4 weeks now. I am literally more and more mind blown every day we play it. We try to only play together so we don't have a TON of hours in.. but I'm rank 26 now. And bought the battle pass today. It is so incredibly well done. I see a lot of posts of complaints and negative things. I'm sure I'd prob have some of the same thoughts if I'd played as long as a lot of you.. but I haven't, and I love it! BRAVO! [link] [comments] |

In-game saved loadouts would be a HUGE quality of life change and time-saver for Destiny 2 Posted: 11 Jul 2021 10:55 PM PDT Bungie, PLEASE add an official in-game loadout system to Destiny 2. Lots of MMOs have them, and they make life so much easier. Having to constantly change individual pieces of armor, change their ornament, change their mods, change their shader; all to do it again in like 15-20 minutes is really annoying. Having the option to save like 5-10 loadouts for each character that can "screenshot" your equipped armor (with mods, ornaments, and shaders equipped) and maybe even weapons if the player chooses, would save so much time and would be an INSANE quality of life update for Destiny 2. Bungie bring back Auras - Subclass Mastery? Posted: 11 Jul 2021 02:14 PM PDT When Destiny 2 Launched there were certain emblems that gave you an "aura" basically looked like a halo. Super minimalistic and really didn't scream "aura" However Solstice of Heroes' Elemental Empowerment actually brings what a proper aura should look like! I really would love for Bungie to embrace that concept of auras and bring it to the game. One idea that I had mulling around would be Subclass Mastery Challenges/Triumphs. Challenges/Triumphs that people can chase by using said subclasses. And yeah I do know that we have in game trackers that track ALL that info already, but perhaps new ones could be created to challenge players to use certain subclasses depending on the Aura they are chasing. There are players that pride themselves on maining certain subclasses or other people's OC's that are tied to them as well, that would love to rep their fave subclass cosmetically. Let me know what you think, and if you think it's a good idea! [link] [comments] |
Cosmetic Idea: let us change our character’s stance in inventory screens Posted: 11 Jul 2021 02:23 AM PDT Probably been suggested countless times before, but it would be a really cool feature that would allow us another layer to customise our characters. Obviously any idea such as this would be another branch of eververse but it would still be really cool and optional. [link] [comments] |
I want my Randy’s Throwing Knife back Posted: 11 Jul 2021 12:58 AM PDT Alright, alright, hear me out. Every time you come back to this subreddit, you're guaranteed to read something about "BrInG BAck My SUnSeTTEd BeLovEd" or something like that. Well same shit here. Today, the bois and I had a nice private 3v3 Clash match where the catch was to only use sunset weapons. I pulled out my Trustee….cough…..scout rifle, Randy's Throwing Knife with exactly, mhmh, "6,789 PvE kills" and "368" PvP kills. The last time I touched the gun was Season of the "oh shit, something big is coming." I loved grinding for it Season of the Undying. With my Talons of the Eagle with Outlaw and Explosive Payload, I was determined to get the scout. Even if I did have to face the many, oh many, Sunbreaker Titans rushing me with Mindbenders and the Wrath of the Traveler itself. Regardless, I had a blast with Randy's during the match. Well I was at least, everyone else was using their Spare Rations and other hc, which was hilarious considering we were on Bannerfall and I was absolutely slaying out just by chilling out in the Courtyard. The moment made me realize the following: Can we please, oh please, get another Rapid Fire frame Ritual Weapon? I know they've been special energy weapons for the past 3 seasons, but damnit, I just want something I can slay out with from a long range. One of the biggest reasons why I like Eternal Blazon is that it can get Full Auto Trigger System, allowing for a full auto Scout. TL;DR I know this won't come to fruition, but I just want other people's opinions. Randy's never got to shine because Bungie said, "Well oh geeeZ. No one likes the people in Survial who use Mountain Top and Recluse, so we'll just sunset them, BUT ALSO EVERY OTHER RITUAL AND PINNACLE WEAPON." Well that's not exactly what happened, but I just want to use a rapid fire frame and Anarchy again during a Nightfall. And people may argue that Trustee is the replacement. But quite frankly, I wouldn't know that. In my eyes, Randy's is easily more obtainable than Trustee, especially NOW more than ever. I've never stepped foot into DSC because of Raid Gate Keeling. Now that's been what, 3 seasons since the Raids been out, you're expected to have 1 million solos by now. Edit: Goddamn. Only been what, 9 hours and this post absolutely blew up. Honestly my biggest hope was for a Bungie Dev to see this and tell Dave in Weapons Designing, "Hey, we should like, idk, bring Randy's back and call it something like, "Randy's Scout Rifle. Imagine how funny, but also COOL it'll be." And Dave would be like "No, no, you got a point. I'll work on it. Lemme design it, put some perks on it, and bam. We're golden bb." And then yeah, we have a rapid fire Scout back. So yeah Dave in Weapon Designs, get it done. [link] [comments] |
Was the range nerf to Duality's slug mode intentional? Posted: 11 Jul 2021 03:56 AM PDT It wasn't present in the patch notes but its OHK went from 12.25m to a bit above 11.5m like a legendary EDIT: they also nerfed its hipfire by 3m instead of 2m like with other shotguns for some reason [link] [comments] |
Momentum control is so much fun! Posted: 11 Jul 2021 08:39 AM PDT Playing crucible can often feel more like a chore than fun, but I love how fast and frantic momentum control is. It's like mayhem but for guns! GG to the devs who made this mode - would love to see more crucible modes as fun as this one. [link] [comments] |
Raids should count towards Xenology Posted: 11 Jul 2021 09:58 AM PDT |
Can we get some finishers sold for bright dust next season? Posted: 11 Jul 2021 05:44 PM PDT It would be nice to at least be able to buy ones from Shadowkeep with bright dust. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 11 Jul 2021 02:11 PM PDT I really wish there was a way to earn that earlier in the season. [link] [comments] |
A layered armor option would be better than the current cusomization system Posted: 11 Jul 2021 01:05 PM PDT I love the new armor customization menu, but an option to save the outfit regardless of what pieces you are switching would benefit the game more. It kinda sucks that you have to customize each individual piece. [link] [comments] |
Optimized Bounties For 2021/7/11 Posted: 11 Jul 2021 11:19 AM PDT Deer trivia: Deer are one of the wildlife species that is currently thriving in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone. Researchers predicted that populations would decrease in highly irradiated areas, but they were wrong: there was no correlation between contamination level and population size. Step 1 - Get in there now and call dibs on what you want before humans start repopulating it. Step 2 - Pick up the following bounties. Remember, you can use the Destiny 2 Companion app! Tower Bounties:
Planetaries:
Step 3 - Follow These Steps:
Total Bounties Cleared: 17 Dailies Total Time: 35 minutes Bounties Per Minute: .485 Rewards:
Season Ranks Per Hour: 1.748 [link] [comments] |
My master gatekeeper challenge tips Posted: 11 Jul 2021 07:07 AM PDT It took me 5 hours and dozens of attempts, so I'm basically an expert (sarcasm).
Edit 1: corrected incorrect guardians taking extra damage in air. It's just air enemies give more damage. Edit 2: lots of good advice. As my grandpa always said: "there's more than one way to skin a cat." [link] [comments] |
Can we talk about one thing beyond light did well? The cutscenes Posted: 11 Jul 2021 10:34 AM PDT Sure there is only a few, but what there is are amazing especially the one with your guardian and eramis. The dread i felt when i saw my guardian getting encased in ice looking for a way out, when eramis has seemingly snuffed out either of our ways out. But we remember what elsie told us, reminding us that there is darkness in everything (or we were chosen by the darkness? if anyone knows, clarify please) and the singular. badass. line. "The only thing we have to break here is you". Gets my blood pumping every time i saw it. It was one of the only reasons i did the campaign on my other characters, that and getting to use stasis on the other classes lol. If anyone from bungie sees this, Make more cutscenes like this please. [link] [comments] |
