    Crucible Labs Feedback: Elimination

    Posted: 05 Nov 2019 10:26 AM PST

    Hey all,

At the launch of Shadowkeep, we began a four week rotation of different Elimination settings in Crucible Labs. Now that we've been through each offering, we wanted to open up for player feedback to give to the dev team. Specifically, we wanted to talk about the mode settings, but feel free to give feedback on the current sandbox and how it plays in this mode.

A few example questions for feedback, but please give us all the feedback you've got:

    • Which weeks settings felt the best?

    • Which Destiny 2 maps play the best in Elimination?

    • Did Heavy Ammo spawns feel fair to both team spawns?

    • Did you like Revive Tokens, or infinite revives better?

Here's the current list of settings, broken out by week.

    Week One

    • Resurrection Tokens: On

    • Escalating Revive: Off

    • Heavy Delay: 90 Seconds

    • Heavy Round: All

    Week Two

    • Resurrection Tokens: Off

    • Escalating Revive: 7 seconds

    • Heavy Delay: 90 seconds

    • Heavy Rounds: All

    Week Three

    • Resurrection Tokens: Off

    • Escalating Revive: 7 seconds

    • Heavy Delay: 15 seconds

    • Heavy Rounds: Only on Round 4

    Week Four

    • Resurrection Tokens: Off

    • Escalating Revive: 7 seconds

    • Heavy Delay: None

    • Heavy Rounds: None

We look forward to hearing your feedback.

    Cheers!

How to get the Sunset Echoes emblem for free

    Posted: 05 Nov 2019 12:17 PM PST

So the emblem was given out at some Madrid event, but Bungie also gives it out when you follow their Weibo (Chinese twitter) page. That's a lot of work though since you need to verify a phone number, but my friend and I noticed the link they sent us was the exact same. Basically, they link you directly to the key generator for the emblem.

The link (if that doesn't work this is the shortened version they sent) takes you to a Chinese captcha, which when finished outputs a fresh key for the emblem. This is what you'll see upon loading the page, if you are stuck here simply refresh. The captcha will be one of two types, Click the bold characters in the order that's at the bottom or use the slider to match up the puzzle piece with the image. You get one unique key per IP, so if you have a VPN you could do this for your friends as well. Thought I'd share since I know a lot of people are wondering how to get this emblem.

Edit: Forgot to mention, this is where to redeem.

Edit 2: Server might have been overloaded or they've taken it down, people are reporting getting error 502. Just tested and it's getting stuck at the background now after the captcha.

Seems like they might have fixed this or the servers are melting.

Update: Apparently the codes were limited supplies/first come first serve. They might add more but I wouldn't count on it. Source from their Weibo.

Wondering what's been happening in the past 2 hours regarding a 999 solo throne attempt for a potential 15th wish? Here you go!

    Posted: 05 Nov 2019 08:30 PM PST

A lot has happened in the past couple hours and in attempt to prevent all the "what's happening?!" questions, I'll do my best to summarize the events:

*In the Truth to Power lore entry "act|choose|react|" it states that defeating Dul Incaru solo whilst being 999 light will actually unlock the true ending of the dreaming city. But knowing Savathun's involvement, there's a good chance this might not do anything. But still, there is that chance.

*In the past several weeks, a few dedicated guardians have been grinding like crazy to power their artifact so that their base light level and artifact power combine at 999.

*Tonight, things started to heat up dramatically as two guardians neared 999. ZupahDupah and Bagel4k have been going back and forth but due to some rough RNG preventing Zup from getting the right pinnacle helmet, Bagel4k has hit 999 several hours before Zup will be able to.

*In an effort to make this a community wide accomplishment, Bagel4k offered Gladd the opportunity to play on his account to finish the curse he started since he's not too comfortable with the dungeon and set reaching 999 as a goal after seeing one of Gladd's tweets. While he initially accepted, there was some chat backlash and after jumping on a discord call, Gladd offered the opportunity to Zup instead. Zup declined but sensing disappointment in his voice, Gladd decided not to move forward with it. Though he's happy to help in any way possible (including possibly streaming a screenshare of Bagel4k attempting it) this offer ends at actually playing for Bagel4k.

*At this point, a few things could happen. Bagel4k can attempt it and if so, it would likely be streamed through Gladd's channel via screenshare. Zup might decide to play for Bagel4k (tentatively no, but that could change). Or most likely, we wait until Zup hits 999 and see if the curse will finally be lifted.

In any case, lots going on and we should see a conclusion, one way or another, in the next 12 hours or so. I included the names of those involved as I think it's important as this potentially huge community event is about to be found. Admiration can be had all around: from the amazing efforts of Zup & Bagel and from Gladd's willingness to help and empathy of the situation. I'll edit this post as the situation develops.

EDIT 1 - Bagel is going to try it and Gladd will be coaching him through it! Sounds like it will be a screenshare that will be streamed from Gladd's twitch channel. Even if nothing comes from the 999 solo completion (likely) what a cool coming together of everyone to help.

EDIT 2 - It's live! Gladd's channel is currently streaming Bagel's attempt while coaching him through it along with others.

EDIT 3 - Bagel has MADE IT TO DUL! Getting soooo close

EDIT 4 - BAGEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL you did it

EDIT 5 - Nothing appears to have happened - full mission countdown done, went to orbit and Petra visited.

    FINAL EDIT - CAT TREATS

15th Wish Triumph now shows up on Braytech. Breaking the Curse at 999 LL?

    Posted: 05 Nov 2019 06:05 AM PST

All credit goes to u/ZealotN for finding this out and posting it on /r/raidsecrets.

On Braytech.org the 15th Wish Triumph is now visible which could (and most likely) is related to that Zupah is 997 LL and will attempt to break the Curse once he is 999 LL. For those of you who do not know in the Truth to Power Lore act|choose|react it is says:

The letter reads "Achieve Light Level 999 and defeat Dûl Incaru in a one-person fireteam to unlock the true ending of the Dreaming City."

Zupah has said that he will probably reach 999 LL either today or tomorrow...

Edit: the reason for it being flagged as misleading is that the Braytech developers might have just made the triumph viewable and therefore nothing major has changed. That Zupah will soon be 999 LL is still true though.

Edit 2: Bagel4k got to 999 LL and soloed Shattered Throne. Nothing happened. He got a cat treat though...

Pinnacle Armor should not drop below 55 total stats

    Posted: 05 Nov 2019 05:55 AM PST

There are very few places to grind high stat armor especially already MW'd armor. The fact that it's limited drops per week should have a baseline of stats so you are guaranteed a least a decent total.

The same should go for exotics.

My lovely 49 stat (-12 for MW) dungeon drop:

In game communication, like the message reminding us to not turn in Iron Banner bounties until Thursday, is wonderful!

    Posted: 05 Nov 2019 10:12 AM PST

Pretty much just the title. I genuinely forgot and that message reminded me as I went into Iron Banner the first time. Stuff like this that shows up when we need to know it is great, and Bungie should be applauded for it.

Guys, Bungie has been ripping all of you off. On Steam, the bundle with both Forsaken and Shadowkeep costs MORE than it costs to get the two expansions separately.

    Posted: 05 Nov 2019 07:22 AM PST

Forsaken on its own costs $24.99

Shadowkeep + Season pass costs $34.99

    Buying them separately costs $59.98

The bundle with Forsaken, Shadowkeep, and the season pass costs $59.99

That means that before sales tax is applied, you get charged an entire penny MORE for buying the bundle.

Bungie, this is a disgusting abuse of trust. I expected better from you, and I think I speak on behalf of everyone who bought the full bundle when I say that they DEMAND to know what you're doing with their poor, innocent pennies!

Edit to clarify: This post is absolutely not a joke. It is, like, SUPER serious. More serious than anything else ever in the history of ever.

EDIT: It has come to my attention that I misread the Steam store page, and the entire premise of this post is wrong. I blame the evil penny-snatchers at Bungie who obviously manipulated my monitor to initially display false images.

Hiding the campaigns from New Light players without giving them something specific to do was the wrong choice

    Posted: 05 Nov 2019 01:46 PM PST

Not displaying the campaign as a main mission in the directory and instead giving them to Amanda Holiday (one of the most hidden and useless characters in the tower) was just plain dumb.

I got 3 friends to join with New Light, and they all said the gun play and spells were all fantastic, but when I'm not with them they have "Nothing to do".

New Lights literally can't figure out what to do and are given no guidance on what to go for. The only things in Destiny to them are Strikes, Gambit, Crucible, and some random ass planets with nothing to do on them.

They don't have any sort of goal other than"pinnacle" weapons that take hella hours to make any sort of progress on (Problem is not with pinnacle weapons, obviously, it's with not knowing any immediate things they can make progress on) The idea that if I wasn't with them, Destiny would have lost players is sad and seems obvious.

Give them to Zavala. That's literally a HUGE improvement because Zavala is most likely one of the first people they'll talk to.

Get your Polaris catalyst done this week if you haven't already

    Posted: 05 Nov 2019 09:01 AM PST

This week's ascendant challenge is the forfeit shrine, which is the one where you dunk the orbs in the center and kill the knights with supers.

For the Polaris catalyst, you can jump up on one of the broken pillars and shoot a knight 4 times in the head, then shoot a group of shadow thrall. Easy perfect 5th kills

The Bounty "Arsenal of Tricks" for IB is disproportionate to the other IB Bounties

    Posted: 05 Nov 2019 10:20 AM PST

the number of ability kills is (IMO) way too high compared to the other bounty requirements. this is especially true in this sandbox with reduced ability regen and super.

could we tweak it down a little and bring it to the same level as the other bounties? not asking for it to be removed

    many thanks!

I solo flawlessed Pit of Heresy using Hush and no Exotic armor

    Posted: 05 Nov 2019 12:43 PM PST

    Link to full run

Bit of introduction. I've never attempted anything solo in Destiny before, much less solo flawless, but I just had to have that emblem, so as soon as Pit of Heresy dropped I went in with the mindset of soloing it. And for some crazy reason, I also decided that wasn't enough, I wanted to do it with Hush as well.

    Hush

I feel like Hush is actually very good in this dungeon, especially going solo and flawless. I chose it for a few reasons:

    1. Long range. Having a ranged primary meant I could peekshot and play at distances and keep myself safe by not getting into dangerous CQC encounters.

    2. Hip fire. Hush is obviously built around hipfiring, even at those longer ranges. Being able to mostly hipfire meant I kept my radar up at all times, which helps prevent pesky knights or ogres from sneaking up on you.

    3. Archer's Gambit. This perk means that even though Hush is long range, it also performs extremely well in closer ranges. I also really like how the perk procs from just a precision hit instead of a kill, meaning on beefier enemies you can get to your max DPS without needing to kill trash first.

Recluse still might be better, and is certainly easier to use, but I found Hush to be a really nice break from it.

    No Exotic Armor

This wasn't even really intentional on my part. I mostly built my armor build around Hive mods. Only problem is I don't have Armor 2.0 versions, even after farming Crown and 3x Menagerie on all 3 characters. So I had to use old Y2 versions of the mods. I only had 2 copies of Hive Barrier and 1 copy of Hive Armaments, both of which were on Warlock gear that I didn't want to dismantle, so that meant I was doing the run on a Warlock (poor me, right?). The mods were on arms and chest, which were the slots I would have run for exotics (Contraverse and Phoenix/Starfire) so that meant I couldn't run those exotics. I suppose I could have thrown on Nezarec's or something, but I didn't really feel like I wanted it that badly, and decided to commit to the no exotics run.

    First Encounter - Doors

This is a really chill encounter once you get it down. Biggest problem areas I would say is dropping down and avoiding bridges. Knights and ogres will spawn out of thin air, often behind you, and you can get deleted very quickly if you're not careful around those areas. I took my time, picked my dropdown locations carefully, and the rest was a cinch.

    Second Encounter - Tunnels

I used this map to plan my route. I first go down right tunnel, enter Room 4. Kill knight, grab orb, exit into middle tunnel, use the gray tunnel on the left wall to skip past the ogre and bank the orb at Gate 2. Immediately turn around and enter Room 2, kill knight, bank orb at Gate 3. Go back through Room 2, cross mid tunnel to enter Room 1, kill knight, take orb from Room 1 to left tunnel, run up to Gate 1 and bank. (if that sounded confusing, you can just watch my rotation in the video, it's exactly that). I've found this rotation to be by far the fastest and safest (at least as far as doing the encounter legit, without using the out of bounds glitch). I always save Gate 1 for last, because it's at the end of the very long open tunnel with the bend where the ogre often gets caught. Since you save it for last, you don't have to ever run back along that tunnel, which can be tricky.

Third Encounter - Chamber of Suffering

This right here is the run ender. I did several practice runs and always wiped at this room. Once I got this room down with a checkpoint, I reset and the next run was my flawless.

My loadout was Izanagi's, Hush, and 21%. I had related weapon perks on my armor, lots of Major/Minor Resist, Solar Resist, and most importantly Hive Armaments and Hive Barrier. These two perks are essential for making this room clean and easy. I used my 21% almost exclusively as a primary weapon, meaning Armaments were necessary to keep it topped up. I think 21% is easily the best LMG for this room, mainly because it overloads the mag and auto reloads when you walk over ammo so you don't have to manually reload. If you don't have 21%, Edgewise is also good because Demolitionist gives you grenade back to get more Armaments.

I ran Devour on my Warlock, both for health and for faster grenade CD to get more heavy with Armaments. I only used Izanagi's to kill the orb knights, not the ones up top. Missing a shot on the ones up top is too punishing due to flinch, so I just used the MG to gun them down.

When rotating for orbs, I always went left or right, never mid (too much crossfire). I also took my time to clear out the room a bit before banking. Don't be afraid to use the cover on either side of the annihilator totem, you don't have to be standing on it 100% of the time. And as a last resort, I kept my nova bomb handy, even throwing it onto just one or two thrall at times in order to keep my devour up.

Hive Barrier is insanely important for this encounter, that 20% damage resist is huge. I would still be stuck on this encounter without it probably.

    Fourth Encounter - Harrows

This is definitely the most sweat inducing encounter because of all the jumping, but it's fairly straightforward. I would recommend using a map to shorten the time you spend wandering around.

Hush is incredibly good here. The Wizards all have fire shields, meaning two bow shots will burst the shield and stun them briefly, and one Izangi x4 shot will delete them. You can also peekshot with the Hush to be incredibly safe while breaking the shield, and remaining at range. I did have one close call here, so I highly recommend running Well/Bubble as a panic button just in case.

    Final Encounter - Zulmak

This encounter took as long as the other ones combined. Part of it was because this was my first time ever soloing him (I'd practiced solo on all the other encounters) and part of it is just the fact that you gotta get several damage phases in. It's definitely a good idea to kill the shrieker first, however I would not recommend going to the shrieker's platform unless you have a sword ready. I tried killing knights from the shrieker's platform with my sniper and it damn near killed me, getting hit with boss fire from one side and shrieker darts from the other. You can def skate around very quickly on Warlock, although I avoided that as I wanted to be sure to take it slow and get the flawless.

For damage phase on the boss, Anarchy is amazing, both for the DoT and because one Anarchy nade fired onto each plate will stop the cursed thrall spawns. I was stupid and didn't realize the optimal order is to 2x Anarchy the boss first, then hit the plates for superior DPS (figured it out on my 2nd to last damage phase). I chose to run Well here, both as a panic button in case the boss hit me with fire, and as a panic button for getting slammed. Stay the hell away from the boss as he has a massive slam radius. I actually did get booped by the boss at one point, and was lucky enough to have positioned myself with a wall at my back (seriously those things will save your life). In the event that there is no wall, a quick reactionary Well or Bubble pop is all that will keep you on the platform, so definitely be ready with those.

If you're really confident, you can run Mountaintop and a void subclass for debuff nades, and that will pump up your damage a lot, you just have to be careful not to hit yourself with splash. If you're very confident with your healing nade jumps, you can also jump up to the very top of the crystal, pop well there, and have a relatively safe DPS phase (even the wipe won't hit you up there).

    Conclusion

This was an insanely fun dungeon to solo. When Shattered Throne came out for whatever reason I didn't get around to doing it till at least a month later, and still haven't even thought about soloing it, but for whatever reason, Pit instantly grabbed me. Definitely one of my favorite things Bungie has released this season, and I'll be clearing it on each character every week. As I said, I have never soloed a single activity in Destiny before this, so I hope this can help and encourage anyone who was in my shoes and maybe didn't think they could get it.

(A kinetic four barreled long rifle with pristine western design and a lever action rifle body)

    Impact: 40 (49 to body/99 to head/188 to head with x1 RJ, 225 with x2 RJ, 263 with x3 RJ)

    Range: 65

    Stability: 20

    Handling: 80

    Reload: 10

    Magazine: 4

    Reserve ammo: 24

    RPM: 120

Recoil Direction: 25 (AKA Low AF)

-Ranger Justice: Rapid precision hits grant bonus precision damage until next reload.

    -Rapid Hit

-Outlaw's Judgement: Firing this weapon from the hip fires all four rounds simultaneously.

-Featherlite Stock: Lightweight stock that grants this weapon extremely high handling.

I reckon the four of 'em 'll be restin for a mighty long time..

Used to own a bar. It wasn't no shiny place er nothin. Had its dings and dents. Still, I was a proud man. Put up the walls maself. After a few years I even expanded the place. Made some rooms for the vagabonds to rest their hats a bit. One day, these four outlaws came by for a drink. Acted like they owned the place. A little missy tried stickin up fer me when they started breaking things. Bad move. They went on to break more than just my bar before they moved on. Never touched a rifle before then. Made my own after...

Took me four years to track em down. Only took me four seconds to find my justice. I reckon the four of 'em 'll be restin for a mighty long time..

    -Unknown

The idea here is a difficult to master rifle that rewards precision. The balance of the weapon dealing its damage would be found in how much the thing would kick and sway the screen when firing at max RPM. The hip fire reticle would be quite wide, only allowing a perfectly aimed body shot from the hip to kill at 8 Ms on average; meaning all four rounds would have to hit the target. The reticle sway would be pretty intense, like how No Land Beyond was in D1. The RPM is slower than a 140 RPM sniper, but since this weapon is more of a scout rifle/sniper hybrid, it would deal less damage and take primary ammo. Also, rapid hit would affect the reload animation. Think x4 rapid hit is the guardian smoothly sliding in 2 rounds at a time in the top two and then bottom two barrels.

    Catalyst: Hair Trigger

-Holding reload with this weapon equipped switches the hip fire mode to a slightly more vertical recoil pattern and allows the user to fire as fast as their trigger finger allows.

I would do an exotic quest for an exotic shader.

Maybe then we would finally get to change colors on equipment with unshaderable parts.

Edit: this got surprising amount of traction for what was originally meant as a joke so what the hell I'm changing the flair to a suggestion.

Are companies allowed to do this?

Sorry if this doesn't belong here, not sure where else I'd post this.

This game is very clearly using advertising Destiny weapons in their game, given by the Omolon Fusion rifle clearly pictured.

Are they allowed to advertise this? Even if it isn't in the game?

Edit: My post on the Bungie forums got a response. Not sure if this is an official Bungie employee or a bot, but I got a response. https://imgur.com/gallery/05lbURl

Is Bungie insecure about their initial Destiny 2 Campaign missions?

    Posted: 05 Nov 2019 06:21 PM PST

I started playing this game when it launched for Steam. Played a few hours and got the Shadowkeep DLC. Played through the DLC and immensely enjoyed everything, except I couldn't understand jacks*it what was going on. Nevertheless, I read around Reddit that newbies should first go to Holliday so she can assign you the 3 major campaign starting missions.

I was blatantly surprised when I played Red War.

First of all, Red War did an amazing job at introducing the characters, explaining the Traveler better, introducing the player to different enemy types, game mechanics, wonderful voice acting... the list goes on. It wasn't the best plot/storyline ever in gaming, but did a really good job at serving the game's world and momentum, making it welcoming to new players. What I don't understand is why the heck did they refrain from making it the default quest line for new players?!

I understand that there were no exotic drops (really disappointing since the missions don't feel as rewarding) and everything felt super easy. I mean, at Power 920, Ghaul dropped faster than me dismantling Rare items. *chuckle*

I wish I had played this campaign earlier, but the game simply didn't tell me about it. If Bungie thinks all of their new players to be mindless freaks who only play the game to shoot bots around, I honestly feel bad. The game has such interesting lore, characters and items which do justice to their world-building. For an MMORPG like Destiny 2, introducing kinderguardians to their new world should be utmost important.

This is how the edgewise quest looks like in the D2 companion app on iOS. The elemental symbols show up as emojis on the others as well !

Chucking an ATM should kill a couple of dregs lol
