Opulent mods are dropping in Raid and Menagerie, can we get Forge mods to drop from Forges now as well?

    Posted: 08 Nov 2019 10:27 AM PST

Just a little QoL suggestion. There's 2 ways to get Opulent mods, CoS and Menagerie. It would be cool if we had chance to get 2.0 mods from Scourge to drop in Forges as well. Maybe push it further and have Outlaw mods drop in Blind Well.

    Bungie Please : Loadouts

    Posted: 08 Nov 2019 01:33 AM PST

Lately i realised that i'm spending crazy amount of time in my inventory . This came to my attention when my daughter asked me why constantly i'm switching things in my character and doing this so often.

Yesterday i tried to kind of calculate how much time i spend on inventory for item management and it was close to 30 minutes on a 3 hour game night.

Armour 2.0 is a great improvement , not perfect but way too much improved over what we had. However with the changes to mod system , activities requiring different type of weapons , mods , inventory management is becoming a huge time killer. Time is the most valuable thing when you are over 40+ , have family , actual life responsibilities.

I would like to request Bungie to work on a Load out system where players can define specific load outs and directly choose their desired load out when they start any activity.

Load out option shall include :

    1. Custom mod selections
    2. Weapon Selections
    3. Armour selections
    4. Artifact selection

This type of system will help guardians a lot and keep them engaged in the game even further in my opinion.

Edit : I've been playing this game for 5 years and i know DIM , Ishtar Collective etc.. exits and i support their devs as much as i can. But it doesn't change the fact that such system exits on many games including Division 1 and 2. At the moment none of these systems support Mod changes on armours within their loadout systems. This is simply a feature that should exist in the game as Load outs effect game play a lot now.

Edit 2 : I see many Guardian's whom think adding this feature would cause any further performance issues. I am senior software developer and been developing nearly all my life. There is already built in backend systems that handles item transfers from characters. Third party solutions such as DIM , Ishtar Collective etc.. utilise this backend features through API. Therefor adding a nee UI/X window on front end should not cause major performance issues for the consoles or PC's at all. For such system you will require simple changes :

    1. Item select function : It already exits on character inventory , they only need to inherit the main function for load out UI/X
    2. Load out UI/X : Will have two steps : View Load outs - Edit/Create Load out
Edit/Create Load out : They can again use Character inventory , shrink it a bit to right , remove unnecessary data and add a save function.
View Load outs : This could be simply similar to Division simple buttons that list your existing load outs

I am not an UI/X designer so i could create a mockup , i am sure we have many whom can easily create am amazing mockup in couple hours.

An look into a potential truth in The Chronicon and its answer to The 999 Disappointment

    Posted: 08 Nov 2019 08:13 AM PST

After reading into The Chronicon (AKA Daddy Calus' erotic fanfiction) and thinking about how it ain't happening, there was ONE passage from entry MCXX that made me think he might have something right:

Picture the scene - You and Calus are homeboys, you've helped Calus build an army of Shadows and Loyalists and he's set up shop firmly in the system, when the Vanguard and Rasputin kick off. You sit down to negotiate that the end of times is coming and they ain't got NO hope anyway, and they declare war because they aren't nihilists (imo if Dead Orbit were there they'd definitely be okay with it).

    You get all pissy and:

'The Shadow of Earth rose with such a suppressed fury that neither the Emperor nor his Advisors had ever seen before. Shuddering with rage, the Shadow of Earth spake thus:

"Who do you think I am? Without me, you have only a dwindling army of ambivalent soldiers. I am the Young Wolf. I killed the Taken King. I defeated Ghaul, I roused the Traveler, I silenced the Moon, I stopped the invasion, I broke the curse, I broke the Houses, I killed the queen! I am the Shadow of Earth!"'

So far, we've killed Oryx (D1), killed Ghaul and woken the Traveler (D2Y1), and we're in the PROCESS of silencing the moon and stopping the invasion (Shadowkeep and Vex Offensive boiiii).

So by this timeline, we're breaking the curse next. Is this the 'Fix the Timeline' we saw in the ViDoc? We all thought it was about saving Saint 14 and more Vex-y stuff, but what if it's about saving the Dreaming City and beating the heck out of Quria? What if our lord and saviour Bagel (praise be his name) has begun the process, and we're merely a season away from ending the curse?

What if that means Season 10 has us 'break the houses', buddy up with Mithrax (who in Calus' fanfic is a shadow anyway) and beating the everloving heck out of the Fallen until they're all under House Light? Imagine that season's 'evolving world' being an Eliksni camp slowly filling out with more House Light gang while you go about and 'convince' the stragglers that they're on the wrong side of history (with bullets).

But that means, Season 11, no more thicc thighs?

No. That's not a world I want to live in. Forget everything I've said.

EDIT: WAIT, IT MIGHT NOT BE THE QUEEN OF THE THICC THIGHS. IT MIGHT BE SAVATHÛN. Now it makes even MORE sense!

Hey Bungie, it's 14 months since you put Trials on hiatus, and 17 months since you killed Faction Rallies - rather than more novelty modes and seasonal box room events, can you please give these two franchise staples some development time?

    Posted: 08 Nov 2019 01:25 AM PST

So we have Momentum Control, that place people go to get scout rifle and grenade launcher kills.

We have Comp, that place people go to get meta guns, (the most accessible of which are actually more use in PvE than PvP.)

And we have Iron Banner, that place everyone is forced to go for light level boosts if they don't want to have to regrind the bonus artefact light level necessary to complete the raid and dungeon after December (10th? I forget.)

And then we have standard Crucible, which is a mess of New Light first timers, afk'ers, and matchmaking oddities.

None of the above are free from silly quests or bounties, or players driven into PvP who don't want to be there, and who aren't comfortable with the activity.

And none of the above feels like as pure and focused as Trials did.

    14 months. 14 months.

3v3 is back. People aren't complaining about that in droves. The mood from the playerbase that wants to be there is actually pretty positive, meta-issues aside. (And let's not confuse meta problems as being an activity problem. Trials as an activity was fine, outside of clans abusing the matchmaking for easy tickets - something they're doing for easy glory in comp now, anyway. Why punish Trials fans for something that's still continuing in another form?)

We even have solo-queue, all the way up to 5500 - something Trials would have benefited from massively back before it was killed off. (Yes - it would have. If players are tolerating the potential for idiots and trolls up at Legend, then there's absolutely no reason why they wouldn't tolerate the potential for idiots and trolls on their 6 win ticket. Just match like with like, to reduce the risk of being paired with someone who wants to screw your day up.)

So for the love of god, can we please have the activity back now? You know, a Crucible event that's actually about the Crucible, and not gear grinds or silly bounties that force you to play against the meta at the cost of your team mates.

It could even go back to being Trials of Osiris, now we've actually met the guy in-game. Frame it as Osiris moving to offset his unfortunate reputation as a rabid fanboy magnet, by instating a training activity which would actually prove yourself to the Vanguard and the city.

You could even recycle those D1 armour skins - god knows everyone loved them.

    Just do it already.

    Seriously. Enough messing about.

    Meanwhile... Faction Rallies.

It was killed because, what - everyone complained it was a fomo gear grind, which essentially boiled down to everyone rushing one activity or play space over and over, because it was the most efficient way of farming tokens?

Vex Offensive. A box room activity, which has yet to change in any mentionable manner, the player-incentive for which essentially boils down to farming for favourable rolls on four guns.

    Four guns. Four.

How on earth is Vex Offensive any different to Faction Rallies, other than the fact that it gives you zero options about how you go about farming the carrot-and-stick gear, and it's season-long duration, (rather than Rally's one week limit.)

It's even less appealing than Rallies was.

Again, the resources are already in the game. Just recycle the gear and ornaments and make them permanent vendors with favour levels like in D1, or a season long thing just like the battlepass which everyone seems to love - whatever.

Just do something with those npcs rather than leaving them there, hogging up instance space and doing nothing.

    Ugh!

Edit: appreciate the gold and the support, ty <3

Also, we've been here before with FR feedback, and by all accounts were met with defeaning silence. Can we do better on communication this time, please?

Edit2: some interesting ideas from the comments:

What if we had factions full time like in D1 then you associate special perks or mods [add. similar to the artefact mods?] that are only available from specific factions. this would add more customization to characters or builds. of course you would need to do activities or quest for the faction in order to earn those rewards.

Two of the biggest complaints I see right now are faction rallies and prime engrams. It's clear Bungie doesn't like faction rallies and has no intention of bringing them back.

What they should do at this point is turn the leaders into permanent vendors, where you can turn prime engrams into to receive faction specific loot. The faction vendor will take the prime engram and turn it into currency, equivalent of half a level, so it takes 2 prime engrams to receive a faction package. Seems like a way bungie would handle it which would be fine with me. They don't even need to refresh the loot pool, armor 2.0 and the chance to get the shaders again would be good enough for me.

If they really want to make it special and something 'new', just give us something back from destiny 1. The exotic class armor pieces. You choose which faction your allegiance is to, and after leveling up your faction to let's say level 20, you get the exotic bond/cloak/mark for your class.

Trials can stay dead until they make Trials Rumble

Okay, thinking about it seriously - why isn't this one a thing?

    • Rounds 1-4, standard Rumble, top 3 go through.
    • Rounds 5 & 6 - Rumble Survival, with a cowardice mechanic to force people to engage after a period of hiding. Top 2 go through.
    • Round 7 - Rumble Survival, less lives, one player takes all the cookies.

Make it tongue-in-cheek. Make it infrequent. Make it Shaxx, because everyone loves Lennie losing his shit. Give tiered tokens as rewards that allow you to buy back old armour as ornaments, with Trials of the Nine up at the top tier, and Faction Rally stuff at the bottom, to keep general appeal.

Would test the ticket system in a live environment, make for a silly, fun event, and let the pros flex for clicks. Totally in for lulz and fashionGuardian!

Give each Faction their own game mode to cycle, so players who participate in that mode get tokens to purchase through that vendor, and the mode changes each week.

Solo Flawless "Pit of Heresy" On All 3 Characters, Back-to-Back At Once

    Posted: 08 Nov 2019 03:25 PM PST

    Video Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ie17fW0o5SY

This is another "marathon challenge," where the Pit of Heresy dungeon must be flawlessly soloed by each class in a row. If I failed a flawless solo at any point, I had to start all the way over from character one.

Important to note: I did NOT utilize any ball duplication methods or encounter skips/cheeses. Although these methods are perfectly fine for any% speedruns, I find them to severely take away from the flawless solo achievement and makes it too easy. Each run was done 100% legit.

Should've had it completed first try, but the fucking Warlock jump screwed me right before the boss. So I had to start it all over. Got it two tries later.

This solo is honestly very easy if you TAKE YOUR TIME! There's no timers or enrage during any encounter, so you can just chill and wait for ideal moments.

    Enjoy!

I made a complete movement guide for Warlocks covering basics to advanced techniques for both PvP and PvE like skating, Worldline launches, and super movement

    Posted: 08 Nov 2019 02:15 PM PST

    Link to full guide

    Intro

This guide is intended as a resource for players of any skill level. In particular, if you are a new or intermediate player, you will hopefully find some new information here to incorporate into your gameplay. For veterans, this should hopefully serve as a touchstone reminder of everything that the Warlock class is capable of.

I tuned the audio so that you can hear specific keypress timings to get a better feel for when you should be making specific inputs.

Each section of the guide is linked to the timestamp in the video, so if you want to see demonstration of a specific technique, just click on that section.

    Basic Mobility

The mobility stat only affects your strafe and initial jump height. It does not boost sprint speed, nor does it directly affect ability jump height, which are common misconceptions new players hold. Because Warlock jump is based on momentum inheritance, it benefits strongly even from a few points of mobility.

You can increase your sprint speed by other means, typically exotic armor and lightweight weapons. Keep in mind that sprint buffs cap at 2. This is not a problem for the Warlock, since you're typically only going to have access to 2 at a time, at least as of making this guide.

    Glide Basics

    You have 3 glide options:

    • Strafe Glide

    • Burst Glide

    • Balanced Glide

Balanced is meant to be a halfway point between speed and control. In general I dislike it because the other two beat it at either game. I find Strafe to be incredibly underrated, as it has by far the most control of any jump in the game, including other class jumps. If you're a beginner I strongly recommend starting on Strafe until you get the hang of Warlock movement, to correct for mistakes. Burst gives the most speed, and is used by advanced players to incorporate elements of skating into their play to traverse the map faster.

    Rift Movement

Before we move on to skating, there are two more basics to cover. Rifts can be cast mid sprint to start a sliding rift cast animation, rather than simply standing still as you cast. Note that you cannot cast a rift if you manually slide. The rift cast animation is also in 3rd person, meaning you can use it to peek corners safely by turning your camera angle if you rift at an angle.

    Warlock Skating

There are 3 levels of Warlock skating (I strongly recommend referencing this video section to hear button timings). For all skating, Burst Glide is the best, as it provides the most speed by far. Additionally, low mobility levels are ideal for skating, since they keep you lower to the ground.

Level 1 can be done controller or m/kb. You want to tap your burst just after hitting the apex of your initial jump, in order for the burst to carry you forward and down. You don't want to waste any of the burst's momentum going up, only forward and down. Down is good because it gets you back into another burst faster, which means more speed.

Level 2 requires a mouse. You bind your jump to scroll wheel, which lets you input many jumps a second by gently scrolling the wheel. With this, you can skate by scrolling your wheel in a gentle rhythm, to rapidly skate up off the ground. Because you are inputting so many jumps so fast, it's ok that you are skating up, as you will have expended your full burst before you hit your apex and won't go sailing away in a normal glide.

Level 3 combines the two techniques. You will continue to use scroll to burst, but you will instead delay your burst until after your initial jump has hit the apex. This uses the scroll burst to send you forward and down. It's worth noting that if you delay the burst till just before you hit the ground, you can bounce yourself into a superglide, which gives incredible height and distance but can leave you exposed.

    Sword Skating

Once you master basic skating, you can also incorporate sword skating. The basic sword skate is very simple. Simply jump, swipe a light attack in midair, and hit your glide key immediately after hitting the light. This should cancel into the glide that inherits the momentum from the swipe, carrying you much farther forward than a normal sword swipe. You can still combo a glide into the end of this, and bhop off the ground to maintain momentum from the sword skate.

You can also perform special launches with Worldline Zero, if you have it. To perform a Worldline Launch, use the grounded blink attack off a raised ledge. Right as your character is reappearing, hit your jump key to initiate a glide. When done properly, this will cancel the end of the blink attack, and allow your glide to inherit the tremendous momentum from the blink, carrying you forward in an incredibly fast glide. It's actually so fast that you have to be careful not to hit walls or obstacles as you can end up killing yourself.

    Grenade Floating

While using middle tree Dawnblade (Well of Radiance) you can charge your heal nade while jumping to conserve height and momentum. On its own, this can be used to hover perfectly very high in the air for a much longer period of time than normal. You can also combo it with other techniques, like a Worldline Launch, to extend your momentum even further.

There are several ways to cancel the grenade without throwing it. A melee is the most obvious, but this cancels both the grenade and your glide. I have found the best way to cancel is to simply tap your sprint button. This will cancel the nade, but keep your glide active, allowing you to float doorways for a very long time and still have your weapon out for when you want to drop on someone.

    Icarus Dash

One of the strongest movement options in the game, this is a Hunter style dodge that can only be performed in air and is on a 6 second CD (insanely low). You can use it in air, but I find it functions best as a normal Hunter dodge. Although you can't use it while on the ground, you can hit the jump and dodge almost simultaneously to immediately proc a hovering dodge about an inch off the ground. Standard play for dodge applies, but you can also take to the air, I just recommend not going too high to expose yourself.

    Blink

I would honestly say this is the strongest jump in the game, but it requires a lot of practice and understanding.

Blink inherits momentum just like the other glides. It has a slight upward boost, but this isn't enough to allow you to regain height after beginning a fall, just to level out and delay the fall sometimes. Many players tend to try to use blink as a gap closing tool, which is ok, but rudimentary. I find it works best to use evasively after taking a quick in air shot. Either to peek an angle, shoot, and blink away, or to rush someone, jumpshot, blink away from any teamfire, and either reengage or disengage (examples in the video). Keep in mind that Astrocyte Verse exists, and in addition to slightly faster and farther blinks, gives better weapon ready speed after a blink, and allows you to keep your radar up, which is very important for CQC scenarios blink usually involves.

    Dawnblade Movement

Many players struggle to control this super. It has by far the most mobility of any super, but it's often so much that you overshoot and slam into things. Remembering the basics of burst glide skating is very important here. Delay your in air boost in order to stay low to the ground. Contrary to what you might think, it is usually best to spend as much time on the ground as you can (while still maintaining speed) in order to be able to change directions. If you must change directions mid air, the boost in Dawnblade is actually so powerful that unlike other Warlock glides, you can actually redirect your momentum, allowing you to turn 90 or even 180 degrees instantly, at the cost of a little momentum, depending how severe the angle of your turn is (i.e. 180 turn loses the most momentum, but still has some).

You can also make use of the tree specific movement options (Icarus Dash and Phoenix Dive). In general, I would say only use Icarus Dash in combat, to evade enemy fire, never to simply move around, as it depletes your super a bit every time you use it. Phoenix Dive is very unsafe as a combat tool, but you can use it to regen some health instantly before pushing an angle if you need.

As a general rule of thumb for this super, stay low while moving and chasing, only go high if fighting a roaming super like a Striker or Spectral.

    Stormcaller

Top tree Storm gives you the Ionic Blink, which functions very similar to the normal blink. While it is slightly shorter range, you can proc it without a jump, allowing you to do Tracer style blinks across the ground. Remember that it still inherits momentum. It seems to become much less responsive once you start gliding in a specific direction. So if you are gliding forward, it will be impossible to blink backwards, and you will only go to the sides a bit. However, if you are just hovering in midair, or have only procced a jump and not a glide, it will be far more responsible to directional movement. Ideally you will combine blink and glide to move very fast, you just have to be intentional, and don't have a lot of room to correct mistakes once the glide is engaged.

    Nova Warp (and Blink)

The combination of Nova Warp and Blink has the most mix up potential of any movement options in the game, and is second in raw mobility only to Dawnblade's insane speed. While using Blink with NW, you can use both your normal Blink and the NW short range blink, which for the sake of clarity I am calling a dash. I find Blink ideal for heigh, while the dash is good for covering distance and finer course correction. You can also alternate the two, either to get high and cover a vast swathe of the map quickly, or to hover blink forward just off the ground very rapidly.

It's worth noting that the NW dash, unlike the Stormcalled Ionic Blink, plays very well with momentum, meaning you can use it to redirect your momentum on the fly very well. This can be used to correct mistakes pretty easily, which is important given the floaty nature of NW.

    Conclusion

Warlock has some insane mobility options, many of which are specific to certain subclasses or even trees. Most of Warlock's mobility is aerial, meaning it requires a good understanding of just how high off the ground you need to be in a given situation to gain an advantage but not expose yourself. Unlike Titan and Hunter, who have more centralized movement, Warlock's movement options are incredibly varied but split between subclasses and trees, meaning you have a lot more options to choose from, but also have to invest more time to fully master the movement. Hopefully you found this guide helpful at least as an orienting tool to let you know what's possible and where you'd like to start learning the movement.

Considering the high cost of MWing exotic armor, PLEASE bring back glass needles.

    Posted: 08 Nov 2019 10:40 AM PST

3 Ascendant Shards to MW exotic armor. This is to say nothing of all the other mats required along the way. Given the RNG of the stats arriving with the exotic armor to begin with, glass needles would really relieve the pain that comes with settling on MWing an exotic piece of armor bc there's really not much of an option. Counting on another identical exotic armor drop with good stats is an absurd proposition within a season.

    PLEASE, BUNGIE.

Everyone's asking what the vex are doing, but no one is asking how the vex are doing and that's so sad!

So today I sat down with a minotaur and had an insightful discussion about the vex life.

Why are there no shaders that match the vex offensive or season pass ornament sets?

    Posted: 08 Nov 2019 08:10 AM PST

The vex seasonal pass armor set is gorgeous, but for some reason there doesn't seem to be a shader that actually matches it. Which means if I want to use an exotic I either have to not match or pick a different shader entirely for the whole set.

Seems like an odd oversight, seeing as how good they usually are with adding shaders that match whatever new activity-based armor sets comes into the game.

    Weird Death Animation Compilation

    Posted: 08 Nov 2019 10:57 PM PST

Attempting to solo the first encounter of GoS was a bad idea.

On the bright side, I found a little glitch. If you die while melee-ing the boss, you'll do a random death animation. It could be flips..spins..or flying straight up through the map.

I made a little compilation of my favorite ones.

Add Factions to the Battle pass. Hear me out

    Posted: 08 Nov 2019 02:46 PM PST

Add in an extra tier to the Battle pass once we pledge to a faction.

From here we can earn faction armor/weapons/shaders as we level up. From there we could earn a "Pinnacle" reward at level 100. Something like an EXOTIC CLASS ITEM (PLS) or even a ritual weapon/MW armor piece.

It's a harmless addition to the Battle pass and factions, it keeps factions involved in the day to day runnings of the game.

Also from this we could earn tokens for factions through any game mode like Raids, Strikes and Crucible, we can use the tokens to get different rolls of the weapons and armour that we have unlocked in the battle pass!

The only sticking point I have with this idea is if it should be a pledge per account or per character.

Just my two cents on how to reintroduce one of my favourite elements of Destiny 1

    Bungie Please : Animated Emblems!

    Posted: 08 Nov 2019 12:38 PM PST

Obviously it's way down the priority list but I think alongside the emblems we currently have, we should have an exotic inclusion for animated emblems!

I'd love to grind out for a chance to proudly show of a kick ass animated emblem!

Maybe for grand feats such as completing a title, or any other large milestones!

Obviously there are much more important things in terms of further developing the game but just thought I'd chuck the idea out there :)

Can we talk about the lack of exotic shotguns outside of the heavy slot?

    Posted: 08 Nov 2019 08:01 PM PST

There are only two exotic shotguns that don't take up your heavy slot. One of them isn't even good in PvE. Can we please see some more exotic shotguns that don't require your heavy. I mean, why would I even put my shotgun there? While we're talking about it, more exotic sidearms would be cool too.
