This week at Bungie, we relieved a heavy burden.

Today, we fixed the issue blocking the acquisition of the coveted Izanagi's Burden, increased Power drops for pinnacle rewards, and deployed a few other improvements in Hotfix 2.6.1.1. Check out the patch notes and the Player Support Report below for more details.

Iron Banner is in full swing. Take advantage of the latest changes and turn your Iron Banner bounties in for +2 pinnacle rewards before the event ends on November 12.

Last week, Hive started pouring out of the Alters of Sorrow. Guardians began to explore the new dungeon. Festival of the Lost kicked off with decorations and some hidden treats in The Tower.

It's a busy time in Destiny but don't forget to take a moment and treat yourself to some crispy "one taps" in Momentum Control.

Next week, an Infamy Boost is going live for Gambit and a new raid challenge will be available for Garden of Salvation.

    What's in the Box?

    Image Linkimgur

Player Support has been tracking current issues and ensuring that the proper people were working on fixes. Today, some of those fixes were deployed.

    This is their report.

    Destiny 2 Hotfix 2.6.1.1

Earlier today, we deployed Hotfix 2.6.1.1 that targets a pair of emergent issues which prevented players from opening the Mysterious Box and acquiring Izanagi's Burden. Here are some highlights of other changes also included in the hotfix:

    • Fixed an issue causing Forge Keys to not count towards Mysterious Box (Izanagi's Burden) quest progression.

      • Players affected by this should find the corresponding objective marked correctly after logging in.
    • Fixed an issue where the Obsidian Crystal would not give quest progression.

      • Players affected by this will need to reacquire a Black Armory Rare bounty and then complete and claim it to get another Obsidian Crystal.
    • Fixed an issue that occasionally caused the weekly Eris Challenge to not drop a powerful reward.

In addition to this week's hotfix, today we deployed a server-side change that allows players to receive the Black Armory Key Mold on all of their Destiny 2 characters. This resolves an issue where the Black Armory Key Mold could only be accepted by the first character that claimed it from Ada-1.

For information on upcoming maintenance windows, players should follow @BungieHelp on Twitter or monitor our support feed at help.bungie.net. For our patch notes archive, players should visit our Updates page.

REMINDER: Daily and Weekly Reset Time Change

For Guardians who observe it; Daylight Saving Time has concluded for 2019. This means that until March 2020, daily and weekly resets will now occur at 9 a.m. Pacific Standard Time.

Players in regions that do not recognize Daylight Saving Time will continue to experience resets at 1700 UTC.

For more information about daily and weekly resets, players should visit our Destiny 2 Ritual Reset Guide.

    Destiny 2 Known Issues

Listed below are the latest issues to emerge in Destiny 2.

    • Vex Offensive is not currently offering its powerful rewards milestone.
    • Titans can only throw one hammer or shield per Super activation in Momentum Control.
    • The Firewalled Haunted Forest cannot be accessed by non-PS+/Xbox Live Gold players.
    • Some universal ornaments may appear to be locked in Collections after they are obtained.

For the latest list of emergent issues in Destiny 2, players should visit our Known Issues thread. Players who observe other issues should report them to the #Help forum.

If we aren't ditching elemental affinity on armor, then part of what makes exotic armor EXOTIC should be that it has universal affinity.

    Posted: 07 Nov 2019 07:42 AM PST

Some of the affinity locked mods are quite important. Enhanced sniper targeting.....scavenger and finder perks....being locked out of that because of your chosen exotic armor is....not good game design.

You log into Destiny to shoot things and get loot but you see your Postmaster icon blinking...

    Posted: 07 Nov 2019 12:06 PM PST

Flying into the tower to clear out your Postmaster in preparation of a afternoon full of looting, you notice Kadi doesn't have any loot.... But a message.

    It's from Ana Bray.

"Hey guardian, it's your favorite Warmind crypto-linguist... probably the only crypto-linguist you know... Anyway! Rasputin needs your help. He needs to see you immediately but won't say why. Swing by Mars when you can, see what the big guy wants."

Intrigued, you fly to Mars and talk to Ana. She says Rasputin has been withholding details but seems to be engaging in offensive activities against the Fallen on Earth and has requested you specifically.

You make your way up to the Mindlab with Ana so she can translate for you. Entering the Chamber, the booming voice of the Russian War Daddy speaks to you.

    "DAAAA VAAAAAA BLAAAAAAH YAAAAAAAA RASPUTIN!!!!!"

Ana translates for you. It seems like the Fallen have made off with a Warsat with highly sensitive information. Rasputin managed to take out most of them, but the leaders escaped with the data. He needs your help to recover the data. You've helped Rasputin in the past and he now sees you as a capable counter offensive measure.

Rapsutin gives instructions on where to find the Fallen. Ana inputs the coordinates and it's.... Bunker Ras-2 in the Cosmodrome. They've taken Shelter inside and are scavenging it as well. Ana says it may not be the best idea to tell Zavala. But since Cayde's death you and Zavala have done well to move past your disagreement. You think it best to show some good faith to your commander.

Zavala as always is cautious, but after pausing for a moment he says that you and Rasputin have worked together and if he reached out to you, a guardian, then you should respond. He is going to authorize you to venture into the Cosmodrome. Before you turn to walk always he stops you and says "And guardian.... Let me know if you find another Thunderlord, I could use one" before cracking a small knowing smile at you.

Flying to the Bunker, you transmat just outside the entrance. Fallen bodies liter the landscape. You follow the trail inside. You fight past several Fallen, and make your way into the Seraphim Vault. Inside you find the stolen Warsat and a particularly vicious looking Fallen. Their name?

    Eramis, The Shipstealer

You engage in battle and eventually drive her off, she transmats away and you reclaim the data from the Warsat. You radio to Ana that you have the data and she tells you that Rasputin wants to see you immediately. You fly back to the Mindlab and as you approach the singular terminal in front of Rasputin, he speaks.

Insert loud sexy space Russian noises

Ana says Rasputin wants you to insert the data. Doing so, you see the terminal run several thousand lines of data. As the data downloads the screen asks you to place your hand on it and register yourself. Rasputin truly sees you as a reliable ally. You are rewarded with the Sleeper Simulant Catalyst!

The data finishes downloading and over the speakers you here...

    DATA REQUISITION COMPLETE.

    DESIGNATED GUARDIAN ASSISTANCE APPROVED.

    REINITIALIZING SUBROUTINE IKELOS....

    UPDATE COMPLETE.

    IKELOS PROTOCOL 2.0.0 UNDERWAY.

You've now unlocked Rasputin as a vendor. You can now turn in Resonate Stems to him for randomly rolled Escalation Protocol armor and weapons.

As you fly back to orbit you notice something strange.... Your Fallen Transponder is blinking. Inspecting it you see a encoded message. After decoding it, it says...

"Eramis is becoming more of a threat. Rendezvous with me.

    Mithrax"

For New Players: Do yourself a favor and complete the Red War and Forsaken campaigns.

    Posted: 07 Nov 2019 11:16 AM PST

I'm a new player, sort of. Bought Destiny 2 when Forsaken released and never got the time to play. When Shadowkeep launched, it was perfect time as life is a little more sane now.

I've absolutely fallen in love. Gameplay is amazing, I've loved the strikes, the Crucible and have now hit 960 and looking forward to more fun.

That said, I found the actual Shasowkeep campaign to be pretty dry. There was nothing wrong with it but in comparison to everything you do AFTER the moon stuff, it's pretty lackluster.

While waiting for the weekly reset a few days ago I decided to try the original content and have been absolutely blown away.

The quality between Red War and Forsaken in comparison to Shadowkeep is night and day.

The Red War campaign is staggeringly enjoyable. The interaction with the Vanguard is so fun, almost every campaign quest was extremely satisfying. The end parts of the campaign are especially great.

Forsaken is just as enjoyable and while heartbreaking, is intensely good.

So much of these campaigns explained so much about the game, the lore and how we've gotten to Shadowkeep, I am beyond happy I've done them now.

Please, please, please - if you're a new player, do these campaigns when you feel comfortable. The game does a terrible job of explaining just how important these two campaigns really are. I know it's hard to take your eyes off of the Light Level goals but you will be so grateful you did.

It was some of the most fun I've had gaming in a long time.

    Eyes up Guardians.

An Open Letter about reward structuring: As a grown adult willing to put lots of hours into this game, I feel like this game does not respect my time.

    Posted: 07 Nov 2019 05:57 AM PST

I am going to start this out by saying I don't hate RNG, and I am fully willing to put hours into this game. I certainly don't want things handed to me, but I think it's fair to address just how things are handed to me. I understand that this is a loot-based game and that it is supposed to be a time investment, so how things are handed to me is almost more important than how much. What I do not like is how the rewards are structured at all, and I especially do not like how there are literally no mechanics to let you grind your way around RNG. In Destiny, more rolls on the slot machine, is the grind. And sure, this was kind of fun when I was in my early 20s, and dopamine and what not. But I never really did like gambling, and that's essentially what progress is in this game. Pure, unfettered gambling. In other MMOs (or MMORPG-like games), contrary to popular belief, this is not the case. If you look really closely at most modern looters/MMOs you'll notice that they do all have RNG, but you are at never any point gambling for progress (except in rare cases, usually with cosmetics). If you don't win your RNG lottery, you will eventually get to where you want to go, literally wherever it is that you want to go. Whether that takes 10, 100, or 1000 hours. You will get there, even if you're the most unlucky player in the game. Because statistically, when you have 1 million players, 10% are going to have horrible luck, and you need something there to protect them from straight up feeling like every play session is a waste of time. Contrary to popular belief, the "white whales" that people romanticize are not healthy, as fun as they are. It was not fun legitimately not being able to join LFG groups in Destiny 1 for nearly an entire year because I could not get Gjallarhorn to drop (I did actually want to buy it when it came out, but I started a little after release and didn't have SC). When I see a streamer joke about how they haven't gotten 1000 voices in a hundred runs, it's cute and all, but it reveals how deeply flawed RNG is when you can't work around it. For every player willing to romanticize and joke about a gun they took a long time to get, there is another player who simply never got the gun, and it really felt legitimately bad.

Personally, I am sick of going into a play-session, not getting any progress on getting the stat, affinity, and total stat values I want on literally any armor, nor getting a weapon with rolls I want, nor getting really anywhere closer to what I want. This isn't a new thing, because throughout the history of Destiny, this has always been a problem in at least some aspect of the game (except house of wolves where everything was rerollable, but that doesn't really count because Vanilla Destiny's content scale was basically an open beta compared to now). It just so happens that right now, it is at its worst its been in a very, very long time.

Which is why I think Bungie needs an entirely new paradigm going forward as far as reward structuring is concerned; From every standpoint and potential player goal, whether it be any of the aforementioned (stats, LL etc...):

If a player sits down for a reasonable amount of time for a play session will they be guaranteed to make at least some measurable progress towards their ultimate goal, whatever that may be?

If the answer to this question is no, then the reward structuring is at best deeply intrinsically flawed and at worst a plain failure. This is an important concept to establish, because this game has gone through literally a dozen stat/armor/reward-structure overhauls. No, I'm serious, in the franchise history, this game has revamped its reward structure over and over, and it's gone from being extremely player friendly, to extreme RNG (House of Wolves w/ re-rolling to Taken King where every facet was brutal RNG is the perfect example). Remember Etheric Light, for instance? Remember when IB guns had re-rolling, then all guns had re-rolling, then no guns had re-rolling? Remember Level and Light Level were combined? Anyways, that's a different tangent.

The point is, Bungie has finally put in place a system that seems like it could be solid. There are so many builds I want to try, but they are all hidden behind layer, after layer, after layer (literally) of RNG in which there are 0 routes of getting around at every turn.

In other games, there are economies, crafting, stat-modifying so that you can always progress some piece of gear or really anything in 1 sitting.

Sure, RNG is fun and all, but you have to let the player win eventually (which is weird, because this is actually a quote from Luke Smith in an interview long ago). In a single play session (4 hoursish) I should be able to accomplish the following:

    • Add 1 stat point to an armor piece (up to a maximum total)
    • Change 1 stat point on an armor piece (up to a maximum individual)
    • re-roll an armor piece
    • gain at least 1 higher light level piece of gear
    • Realistically attainable ideal rolls on weapons (or approximates - menagerie was a good example)

Would this take a massive time investment to do if you don't start out with a high stat, well-distributed piece of gear? yes. But the point is, you will get there eventually.

RNG should be a breathe of fresh air when you win, and not utterly soul sucking when you lose.

I work 7 days a week. I get off a shift, and I go home, and then play for as much as 10 hours (on days I allocate for gaming). This is especially painful when the game forces me to play activities that I do not want to play just to roll a slot machine. Now, I'm all for Bungie encouraging players to go out of their comfort zone, but I feel like the reward structure, especially with how high-stat gear is handed out in very arbitrary manners (T3 Reckoning can hand out 60+ stat gear but menagerie and 5500 Comp can't like wtf?) is an additional slap to the face.

If I go to a game-mode I'm not comfortable in, or am not particularly fond of, it does not help that I can leave that game mode with nothing to show for it. I work in cancer care, and when I get home, I am mentally exhausted to the point where learning the mechanics of a raid or some hard PvE encounter takes a lot of effort. And then I end up with a couple guns I don't care for with bad rolls, and armor that is either mediocre in stats or the wrong affinity. Which again, would be fine. It's just, there needs to be additional guaranteed progress. And if that progress requires you to play a bunch of different activities, then so be it.

This is a very, very, very good game, and I really want it to be better. I love this game for the gameplay itself, and I am so, so, so enthusiastic about the potential for theorycrafting and the RPG fantasy in Destiny, mixed with the amazing gunplay. That was supposed to be the whole point of Armor 2.0. But I feel like at every turn, the simple concept I mentioned above was not respected.

I guess my closing thought is the following: I have played the Destiny franchise for five years, and have actual months of playtime; time is very valuable in real life, and how much time a person dedicates to their hobbies speaks volumes to how valuable the hobby is to them. I feel as if in the Destiny universe that Bungie has so lovingly, and carefully crafted and curated for us, our time should have some base, predictable value as a sign of respect for the consistently valuable time we spend in it.

    Thank you,

If you're taking a new player through the Whisper mission and getting the chests, use Revoker to destroy the Oracles. It takes one shot to kill them, and gives you the one bullet back because Oracles don't count as targets. Therefore, infinite ammo to snipe them with.

    Posted: 07 Nov 2019 06:49 PM PST

Title. Just like how in D1 people used Super Good Advice to destroy them, the Oracles work the same way in D2. They count as a miss even if you hit them. So with Revoker, it takes one shot to kill them, and you get that one shot back because Oracles don't count as targets. So if you're looking to get the Sleep catalyst, Thousand Wings, etc. definitely use Revoker.

Would be a cool little tip of the hat 👏

A closer look at the bug inside Xenophage

    Posted: 07 Nov 2019 10:28 AM PST

Since it's almost impossible to see in-game, I decided to grab the 3D model of Xenophage and pull it apart for a closeup of that lil bug. Turns out they really put some detail into it, kudos Bungie artists!

    Here's an even closer closeup:

Izanagi - Black Armory Key Mold - Account Bound Bug is Back

    Posted: 07 Nov 2019 10:50 AM PST

    (/u/Cozmo23) (/u/dmg04)

Can someone from Bungie support PLEASE comment on this issue and confirm when it will be fixed. One of my characters (Warlock) had the Black Armor Key Mold in his inventory when Shadowkeep launched. However, I started playing my Hunter for the new expansion and it is now my main. I have been trying to complete the Izanagi's questline on my Hunter but I am COMPLETELY STUCK and cannot progress further since the Black Armor Key Mold will NOT be given to me on my alternate characters.

This issue was previously reported in January of this year and was 'supposedly' fixed in Update 2.2.0 back in March. This bug is now returned and the Key Mold is account bound to my Warlock and I cannot progress forward on my Hunter who has a completed Rare bounty and has all 3 keys plugged into the box.

" Fixed an issue where the Black Armory Key Mold quest was account bound, allowing only a single character to acquire it from Ada-1"

    https://www.bungie.net/en/Explore/Detail/News/47677

PLEASE CAN YOU FIX THIS QUESTLINE AND HAVE ADA-1 JUST SELL THE KEY MOLD

HUGE EDIT / UPDATE: BUNGIE FIXED THE ISSUE WITH ANOTHER HOTFIX SOMEHOW. WE DID IT REDDIT!! WE DID IT!! I JUST CONFIRMED I CAN PICK UP THE BLACK ARMORY KEY MOLD ON MY ALT!!! THANK YOU BUNGIE!!!

I adore this new tradition of simultaneously launching a new Endgame activity alongside a story-relevant gamemode

    Posted: 07 Nov 2019 10:21 AM PST

While the Raid team tracks the Artifact's Signal (Garden of Salvation), There are also hundreds of Guardians disassembling the Sol Divisive (Vex Offensive) .

While Guardians clean up Nightmares in Harbor of Sorrows (Altar of Sorrows), a small fireteam tries to take down the potential hierarchy of the Hidden Swarm (Pit of Heresy)

Even back in Forsaken, we kept the Hive/Taken from accessing the Distributary (Blind well) while Redeem struck at the source of the Invasion (Last Wish), albeit with some less than favorable results.....

This means of releasing content is probably the most prominent example of Bungie's "evolving world" goal that they mentioned before the launch of Shadowkeep.

In which case, keep it up guys, you're doing great.

To all those hunting a Pit of Heresy solo flawless run: the loading screen bug does not impede progress towards a flawless.

    Posted: 07 Nov 2019 05:05 PM PST

I got the loading screen bug when loading into the second encounter and died to it. I still went for the flawless because I witnessed that the game didn't actually register as me having died by something as there was no 'Killed by' text and I respawned instantly.

Turns out that it didn't actually count as a death, and I got all three triumphs at once including the solo flawless one.

So if this happens to you, chances are that you can still complete your run and have it count (as long as you don't die anywhere else). Just documenting personal experiences here, not sure if it will still count for everyone that encounters that bug but it's worth a try if you've already gotten that far.

Edit: https://i.imgur.com/JuBnOnu.png picture I took of my completed run.

nightfall ordeals should drop high stat planetary armors from the planet the nightfall is on

    Posted: 07 Nov 2019 08:57 AM PST

Before Shadowkeep I wanted to rock the wildwood set. 20,000 tokens or so later and I had nothing to show for it, all the rolls were trash, all sharded.

It would be nice if I could get high stat rolls from the 950 and 980 nightfalls for the planetary armor e.g. do nightfalls in EDZ, get wildwood set, do nightfalls in dreaming city, get reverie dawn set.

I also think that planetary armor should drop on the planet it is associated with in general. I'd like to play strikes or patrols, adventures, and get planetary armor for it. The world pool is impersonal and boring, and lacks specificity. Being able to get high stat rolls from the ordeal would be icing on top.

An apology to all my random teammates as I grind for Undying.

    Posted: 07 Nov 2019 08:02 PM PST

I wanted to take a moment and apologize to all my random teammates as I grind for Undying.

In my quest for the Undying title, I've become that guy I always hated.

In crucible, I'm running a firmly planted/range finder Wizened Rebuke. If you don't catch me crouching at the back of the map with a scout rifle, you'll find me crouch walking my way across the map trying to get cold fusion medals. Occasionally, my meandering path takes me across a zone in iron banner. But more likely than not, I'm duck walking away from my team trying to use my fusion rifle to map the Recluse users before they close the gap.

In strikes, I'm that guy that continues to run a solar LMG regardless of the burn. You'll find me lighting up every thrall and dreg I can find. I might put a round or two into a yellow bar, but I'll never use my precious heavy ammo on the boss. You'll be astounded that I can rack up so many kills in a strike that should take 5 minutes to run. But hey, you can kill a lot of trash mobs in 20 minutes. Did some of them come from lost sectors? I'll never tell.

In Gambit, I'm the dude stealing your motes so I can quickly bank 5. I've just sent the most worthless blocker to the other side for a medal. I'm running to the next spawn to try and kill all the trash mobs for a quick medal before anyone can get there. It's quite likely the motes are disappearing right as you are getting there.

In vex offensive, I've become the guy that can't be bothered to work on champions or the boss. I'm off in the corner using a bow to try and finish off as many vex as I can before time runs out. In the final encounter, we've made it all the way around the map and the boss still has almost half health. Which is good, as I have more finishing moves to get.

I feel guilty for not being a good team player. However, I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I should be a good team player soon.

Hopefully, next season I won't need to resort to such behavior.

In the meantime, please accept my apology.

I'm on mobile. I'm not sure how the formatting will come out.

Aeon Gauntlets Suck - Day 792

    Posted: 07 Nov 2019 12:53 PM PST

    Bungie Plz,

Do a rework on the Aeon Gauntlets because the concept of an armor piece working with the same/similar armor pieces your fireteam is using is a good idea. They don't even have to be top tier. Make them fun

We need Shaxx voice lines telling people to take the damn zones.

    Posted: 07 Nov 2019 10:34 AM PST

If someone has gone past the halfway point of the match and has only captured 0 or 1 zones, we need Shaxx to just explode. Because those people are half of every team.

PSA for anyone reading this that is one of those ^ people, if the enemy team has 2 zones, you have to kill twice as many people just to keep up with them. In Iron Banner, them holding 2 zones is also a great opportunity to start a hunt on your team, where during that time period you have to get three times as many kills. I don't care how good you think you are. That's not gonna work.

    Posted: 07 Nov 2019 05:56 AM PST

What are you? I have spent more time than I care to admit staring down from the top the the rigs watching your coils peak from the waves. I have gazed longingly at your shadow as it drifts past the windows below the water. For two mini expansions, one large expansions, and three seasonal expansions, and now a second large expansion I have looked for you. I have heard my ghost access the submarine sonar sensors and tell me you're still down there, waiting. When will you show yourself? I long for the day when I get to shoot you in the face. Posted: 07 Nov 2019 03:33 PM PST

After what feels like an eternity. I was able to get Izanagi's today. On top of that, I didn't know the key was broken, so I had used my black armory key and bungie gave me credit for it so I didn't have to do that over again. Just logged on and the next step was there.
