This week at Bungie, we're investing in solar energy.

We wrapped up Festival of the Lost this week, but cleaning up the decorations wasn't the only thing that changed in the Tower. Ikora finished her construction project, closed out all the permits, and Guardians launched an attack on the Undying Mind.

The attack is ongoing and all Season Pass holders can join in on Vex Offensive and transmat the finished portal from the Tower to summon and defeat Undying Minds from different timelines.

The impact of your victory has not been made clear just yet, but in time, you will learn more about how this will further evolve the world as we transition into the next Season.

    Solar Shifts

Next Season, we are shaking up the Solar subclasses. We are reworking several ability trees and the Destiny Dev Team has the details on what to expect when you praise the Sun next season.

Destiny Dev Team: Hey Guardians, it's the Combat Systems team here, back again to talk about some updates we're making to the abilities sandbox in the next Season. Previously we spent a Season focusing on subclasses of one specific element type such as Arc and Void. Up next, the Combat Systems team is tackling Solar subclasses as our focus for gameplay updates.

As we've mentioned in past TWABs, our goal with these subclass updates is to "revisit some older subclass paths and freshen them up a bit." In execution, this means that older subclass paths will feel like viable choices in many of our activities and that players can find a home in any of them.

When we started working on sandbox updates to follow Season of the Undying, our team looked at the whole catalog of Solar subclasses by cross referencing data, feedback, and conversation to figure out which subclasses needed help, which are performing fine, and which ones were a bit too potent. During our investigations, it was pretty clear that three specific subclasses were underperforming and needed to be taken back into the shop for a rework.

It's worth noting here that a rework doesn't mean it's a completely new subclass. It means that we took the root of the gameplay fantasies for those subclasses and either expanded on what was already there or shifted some of the existing attributes closer to their fantasy. In some cases, entire perks were changed to help further the gameplay role and fantasy of those subclasses.

    Those three Solar subclasses are:

Gunslinger: Way of the Sharpshooter (Bottom Path)

    Image Linkimgur

Traditionally, Way of the Sharpshooter has mostly been used in specific PvE activities and almost exclusively paired with the Celestial Nighthawk helm. We wanted to move Way of the Sharpshooter to be something players want to choose more often and for a wider range of activities. To do that we needed to differentiate both Golden Gun paths and make Sharpshooter more versatile and interesting to use in PvE. In order to differentiate the 3-shot and 6-shot Golden Gun and better play into their fantasies, we've made the following changes:

For 3-shot we increased the auto-aim distance and reliability when aiming down sights, as it fulfills the role of long range accuracy. For 6-shot, we shortened the damage falloff range to emphasize the short range gunfighter role with a lot of kill potential. While it can still perform at longer ranges, it may take an extra shot to get the job done. We've made other changes to Way of the Outlaw to help keep its potency like adding a new Explosive Prox Knife that can stick to surfaces and detonate when enemies pass nearby.

All up - we want Way of the Sharpshooter to feel more active and rewarding for players who can fulfill the role of the sharpshooter by taking down enemies with accuracy and precision.

NEW Weighted Knife: High-damage knife throw with a long wind up. Travels at high speeds, bounces once, and does extra damage to the head. Precision shot final blows recharge the melee completely. One-hit precision final blow in PvP.

Practice Makes Perfect: (QoL): Lasts longer but gives a bit less energy per second. Precision hits grant two stacks.

NEW Knock 'em Down: Precision final blows increase weapon stability and ADS speed. Timer starts at 10 seconds but any additional final blow/assists can increase it up to 25 seconds. Casting your Super with this buff above 20 seconds consumes the buff and grants extra damage. (Does not stack with Celestial Nighthawk).

Line 'em Up: (QoL): Old perks from Crowd Pleaser are now part of this perk. (Golden Gun can cause precision damage and precision shots generate orbs of light).

Sunbreaker: Code of the Devastator (Middle Path)

    Image Linkimgur

Titans who adhere to the Code of the Devastator want nothing more than to crush their foes with smoldering hammers, and we want to see them live their dreams. When our data indicated that this subclass was underperforming in PvP, we decided to make a few changes that should enable it to be more competitive.

The Roaring Flame perk has received a significant buff to its bonus damage, and the buff now lasts 25% longer, making it easier to build and retain stacks between encounters. The base damage of Throwing Hammer melee ability has increased—it's now very lethal in PvP while you have Roaring Flames active. In addition, once you've thrown the hammer and it's lying on the ground, you don't have to get quite as close to it to pick it back up. Finally, we tuned the Super in a number of ways.

For starters, Burning Maul now lasts longer, giving you more time to use it strategically instead of simply spamming the slam button. (Titans. All we want to do is smash, right?) We also increased the height of the heavy-slam explosion, so this Super should feel much more potent against airborne enemies. That's the gist of it, but here are more details:

Throwing Hammer: Increased impact damage from 100 to 120 and increased hammer pick-up radius from 2m to 3.5m. Adjusted hammer throw animations to fit a more damaging attack.

Roaring Flames: Increased damage bonus from 10% per stack to 25% per stack in PvP, and increased duration from 15 seconds to 20 seconds.

Burning Maul: Increased duration from 21.2 seconds to 28.5 seconds

    • Light Attack: Reduced light attack energy cost from 5% to 3%. Adjusted the animation so that it flows seamlessly into chained light attacks without stopping.
    • Heavy Attack: Ground Slam attack now detonates when it detects enemies above it. Detonation radius was increased to make landing attacks more consistent. Increased energy cost from 6% to 8%.

Dawnblade: Attunement of Sky (Top Path)

    Image Linkimgur

With Attunement of Sky we wanted to push its air superiority gameplay further. When we initially released this path, its movement capabilities were tuned around the original Destiny 2 gameplay experience, which was much slower and more deliberate about positioning. However, over time, this movement needed to adapt to the new sandbox. We want to give you the gameplay experience that the fantasy begs for: A flying angel who can maneuver with grace and destroy its foes below.

Now before we get started I wanted to touch on one thing: To accomplish our goals of reworking the air superiority role, we needed to differentiate the two Daybreak paths from one another. As such, we reduced the speed at which Burst Glide accelerates players in Daybreak. We know this is a controversial change but we wanted to reserve the air superiority gameplay with Attunement of Sky and the Burst Glide speed was blurring the lines between both Daybreak paths.

Icarus Dashes while in Daybreak have increased speed and thrust to recapture the burst glide gameplay for those running the air superiority path. We hope that, while this change is different, you still feel as fast as before—but with maybe a bit more expression behind that speed. The rest of the changes are below:

NEW Celestial Fire (Melee): Send a spiral of three explosive Solar projectiles.

Heat Rises: (Rework) Consume your grenade to extend Glide time and dramatically reduce the in-air accuracy penalties for weapons.

Winged Sun (Rework): Fire weapons, use Celestial Fire, and throw grenade while gliding. Airborne final blows grant melee energy and extend the duration of Heat Rises.

Icarus Dash (Rework): Tap (Crouch) twice to dodge in midair. Dodging in Daybreak accelerates players farther and costs less Super energy while under the effects of Heat Rises.

Added note: Due to the nature of these reworks, Wings of Sacred Dawn received a buff where it gains 15% damage resistance while Tome of Dawn is active.

There are a whole swath of changes we're working on that extend beyond these three subclasses. Most Solar subclasses had some tuning and some non-Solar subclasses got a bit QoL love too. We hope that with these changes, you'll feel energized playing any Solar subclass—regardless of activity. Thanks for having us!

    Final Howl

    Gaming and Giving

We're completely blown away by the generosity you all showed throughout the Game2Give fundraising campaign in support of the Bungie Foundation's iPads for Kids Program and of Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.

In just three weeks, you all raised $1,673,857.62! We reached this incredible amount of funding because of the 40,000+ donors and 5,500 streamers who supported the campaign across 104 countries. To say this was a true global Guardian initiative is an understatement!

    Image Linkimgur

For the Bungie Foundation, this will give us the capacity to expand into up to five new hospitals in 2020 and help over 250,000 more patients than we ever have before! We are so excited to continue our work of replacing fear with joy, boredom with entertainment, and uncertainty with a sense of normalcy for so many more kiddos.

And check out how this funding will help the work that Children's Miracle Network Hospitals does every day.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for showing us once again how truly special the Bungie Community is through caring about each other and those in need.

    Tip of the Spear

Stay up to date on the latest from the Player Support team.

    This is their report.

    Destiny 2 on Stadia

This week, Destiny 2: The Collection launched on Google Stadia. Players who are looking to get set up with Stadia for the very first time should make sure they visit our Stadia Guide.

Furthermore, existing Destiny 2 players who wish to bring their characters over from other platforms can do so right now through our Cross Save page. As a refresher; Cross Save allows players to access their preferred set of Guardians, gear, and Season Passes on all (Stadia details below) platforms.

New players who are starting their Destiny 2 journey with Stadia can also enable Cross Save, so the Guardians they build and gear they earn travels with them to other platforms. However, players should know that Season Pass access granted on Stadia through Destiny 2: The Collection does not transfer to other platforms using Cross Save.

Destiny 2: The Collection on Stadia includes a Season Pass access at no additional charge. Players who have Cross Save enabled with their Stadia account who would like to access Seasonal content on other platforms (PlayStation, Xbox, and Steam) will need to purchase those Season Passes directly on one of those platforms.

As a final reminder, expansion licenses (Forsaken, Shadowkeep) do not transfer between platforms with Cross Save. Players who wish to access activities which rely on these expansion licenses will need to purchase them for every desired platform.

    PC Migration and Forsaken Licenses

Since Destiny 2 launched on Steam last month, we've monitored posts from players who have provided feedback and reported issues regarding the PC Migration experience.

After thorough investigation, we believe that we have resolved an issue which was preventing a subset of PC players from transferring their Forsaken licenses from their Battle.net accounts to Steam. Players who previously encountered this issue should re-initiate migration at our PC Move page.

    Destiny 2 Known Issues

Listed below are emergent issues being investigated in Destiny 2.

    • The MIDA Multi-Tool catalyst will not drop for players who win a competitive Crucible match at the Legend rank if they are playing with clan mates and the "Catalyst Seeker" clan rank bonus is active. To mitigate this, we recommend that players seeking the catalyst play solo or team up with friends who are not in the same clan.
    • Black Armory Keys cannot be used or deleted if the Mysterious Box quest has already been completed.
    • Some players may experience an issue where blank items from Festival of the Lost are taking up slots at their Postmaster.

For the latest list of emergent issues, players should visit our Known Issues thread. Players who observe other issues should report them to the #Help forum.

What your Gambit Loadout says about you

    Posted: 21 Nov 2019 09:41 AM PST

Because I'm incredibly bored and want to procrastinate on my programming project, here we go. Got back into Gambit a bit when helping out a clanmate through Malfeasance (after going on a pretty long hiatus after obtaining Dredgen), and I noticed a pretty common theme among loadouts, even trailing back to when I first grinded for Dredgen. Sooo here ya go.

EDIT: Wow, this post got a lot more love than I thought it would. Got a few more requests and notes about weapons and subclasses I forgot about, so I might be periodically updating these as I go.

EDIT 2: Dear god, so many comments and requests. Keep in mind I'm mostly going over mainstream loadouts and stuff that a good amount of people actively use. This post is massive enough as is (lagging my tablet from trying to edit this thing as we speak), so if you're one of three people in the entire game using it, you can probably assume it won't be here. That being said, I'll keep updating this as I see fit, and I'll shoot a comment here and there if I see an interesting loadout.

What your Weapons say about you:

    • Izanagi's Burden + Recluse: You saw a YouTuber or two praise Izanagi's (along with Recluse), and you know how incredibly broken good Recluse currently is, alongside how great Izanagi's 1-body kills is for Invading, so you got to running it. Realized how much of a jack-of-all-trades you can be at invading, killing adds, boss dps, etc., so you just kept running it. Do I blame you? Not at all. As long as you aren't using Truth, I'll give you at least some respect :3
    • Legendary Sniper + Primary: Unlike most Izanagi's users, you're a crackshot with a sniper. Either you're an Invader who's tired of people stealing your heavy to clear adds, or you're a Sentry who's tired of the usual Invader shenanigans and just want to delete them from the game. Either way, you're a menace to the enemy team, and you're absolutely going to make 'em squirm in fear when invading/being invaded.
    • Mountaintop + Recluse: You long for the days when you could've killed Primeval at 2x Primeval Slayer in Gambit Prime with a Well of Radiance or Rally Barricade. You know it's still a decent loadout outside of boss DPS, but you loathe the coming nerfs to it. You probably know Recluse will still be good post-nerf, but you still loathe it. Tbh I wouldn't be too tilted from this loadout, except it frees up your heavy exotic slot fooooor...
    • Literally anything + Truth: You know who you are. You know why you use it. You know people hate you for using it. You don't care. It's basically the best Invader and anti-Invader weapon in the game. And with Machine Guns getting a pretty hefty range nerf a while back, you've basically resorted to Truth as your only Heavy option. Who needs Primeval DPS when the entire enemy team's dead, right?
    • Anything + Leviathan's Breath: Basically copy/paste Truth here, but people actually somewhat respect you. You know it's a really good Invader and anti-Invader weapon so long as you have any form of aim (unlike Truth), and you aren't using your exotic in any other spot (for whatever reason), so why not?
    • Blast Furnace + Jotunn: You know it's a meme. You embrace the meme. It's an efficient loadout, and it gets the job done. You don't need to have godly aim, you don't need to play incredibly aggressively, you can just hang back and do your thing. You're probably hanging around the bank, eradicating any blocker which dares come into your territory, and any Invader is just a quick shot in the general direction of the invader spawn, which you probably have memorized for every map.
    • Special + Riskrunner: You probably heard the Drifter say either "Fallen on the horizon!" or "Cabal on the field!" and made the 200IQ play of switching to Riskrunner. Either that or you're also rocking an Arc subclass. Either way, you love having an omnipresent Stormtrance and probably have top hostile defeats at every point of the game.
    • Double Primary: Either you're a new light, or you're trying to double-dip grind Gambit pinnacles with some permutation of Auto Rifle, Bow, and SMG. The first one is understandable, the second one is... why? Just be helpful and use a special to help with majors, invaders, boss DPS... I don't understand. Just focus on one at a time, and be helpful. You aren't getting any more total kills by using double primaries than you would using a primary and a special.
    • Special + Fighting Lion: Either you're trying the Lion out for the first few times and end up with below average to average hostiles defeated, or you're a part of the Lion cult like me ( r/FightingLion :3 ) and consistently break 100 hostile defeats in 2-round Gambit games, executing every HVT and major with a Lion/Special combo. Either way, I smile seeing a fellow Lioneer in a game, no matter how well or how badly you do :3 (Yes, I'm incredibly biased. Aren't we all? :D)
    • Huckleberry + Loaded Question + Wendigo: Think of a D2 YouTuber right now. We're probably thinking of the same one. Regardless, it's an effective PvE loadout, and it kinda translates into Gambit. Except you slightly dislike the PvP aspect of the game mode and how swingy Invaders can be for the game.

    EDIT:

    • Malfeasance + Primary: You're probably the only outlier to the Double-Primary rule, and for good reason. You deal with blockers like they're nothing, you 3-tap absolutely every Invader should they not recognize you, and you deal a considerable amount of Primeval damage when the time comes. But realistically, you only use Malfeasance because you worked hard to get a Gambit-specific gun (likely to have gotten it back before the Meatball spawn rates got buffed), so you feel inclined to use it.
    • Legendary Sniper + Telesto: Telesto's the Besto, and you know it is. You're probably only using the Reaper set to utilize the free special to its fullest, and you're secretly a Sentry who disguises themselves as a Reaper to fool the enemy Invader into underestimating your power. They think the first kill is lucky, but the second or third they'll get suspicious.
    • Anything + 1k Voices: You take Truth's description to another level. You basically sneeze in the general direction of enemy guardians and you'll get free kills. Plus you aren't completely useless when it comes to Primeval DPS. The only reason you don't get complained about as much as Truthers is that you're extremely rare in comparison to Truthers, since the few people who actually have 1k rarely ever play Gambit.
    • Monte Carlo + Special: You're either a Fire-Forged Titan with Peregrine Greaves, or you're a Sentinel with Doomfang Pauldrons. That's it. The former you Hammer Strike literally every blocker in the game with your limitless charges from Monte, and you're incredibly effective. Any and every blocker who dares come over to your side is instantly whacked in the jaw by your flying hammer strike. You recognize that 1-2 Punch + Peregrines were bugged and slightly on the overtuned side, but you still long for the days of instantly deleting every non-Primeval in the game with a 1-2 YEET. The latter you abuse the fact that you have a super in 4 melee kills and you have infinite melees with Monte.
    • Anything + Hammerhead: You still cling onto what was once an insanely broken good heavy, both for Invaders and anti-Invaders. Maybe you have a mostly PvE-centric loadout and still have room in your Heavy slot for Invader shenanigans, or maybe you're already rocking a sniper for the range and can afford the mid-long range of a Machine Gun. Regardless, you give everyone a minor fit of PTSD whenever they hear the "GUHGUHGUHGUH" of a Hammerhead in the distance.
    • Primary + Eriana's Vow: You're literally only using this thing in Gambit Prime to get the catalyst. You're also the most likely person in this entire post to dislike Gambit but play anyway. You read online that Gambit Prime gives a noticeably larger amount of progress than other activities, so here you are. Either you're on PC and have the luxury of swapping at the end of the game so as to not handicap your team too badly (if you remember to do so), or you're on Console and have to suffer massively with a relatively underwhelming special. Sure it helps against shielded enemies with the decent amount of shield destruction, but we all know you'd rather use other better options.
    • Anything + Deathbringer: You were likely a former Truth user before you found a new shiny toy to play with, and you have never thought of going back. You highly enjoy hitting people from behind cover without ever seeing them (which is further augmented by your built-in wall hacks as an invader), and you've gotten plenty of Army of One medals in Gambit Prime with a single shot toward the Well of Light. Not to mention you can do a considerable amount of DPS to the Primeval.
    • Sweet Business + Special: You're a Titan. You use Actium War Rig. Who else would use what is essentially a minigun besides the one class which actually has the ability to give the thing basically a bottomless magazine? Either way, you've basically taped down your fire button, and you go to town on every add in sight, also dealing a surprising amount of damage to majors and Primeval. You're also one of the biggest annoyances for Invaders, basically daring anyone to peek the lane and shredding them when they do decide to peek. Can't land that sniper shot if you're getting flinched to heck and back, eh?
    • Primary + Divinity: You're actually playing as a support for your team. Nice. You place a lot of hope in your team, meaning you're either in a stack, or you haven't met enough blueberries who don't know how to play the game. Regardless, your service is very much appreciated by everyone in the game, and you get a lot of respect from teammates every game. Also, you're much more likely to be playing as a Ward of Dawn Titan or a Gracelock than most other subclasses :3

What your Subclass (+ Exotic Armor) says about you:

    Hunter:

    • Way of the Warrior: You're rocking Liar's Handshake and a 1-2 Punch Shotgun, possibly with Tractor Cannon. You're basically a normal player for the entirety of the game, but when Prime time comes, you're consistently getting 80% Prime damage, no envoys required. You're a tiny bit lacking when it comes to invaders due to your shotgun (unless you're also rocking Truth or Levi's Breath), but you don't care. That Primeval's as good as dead once it spawns.
    • Way of the Outlaw: You're probably camping the invasion portal. I don't blame you; one-shot kills from across the map as long as you have line of sight, coupled with Invader's inherent wall hacks is... a bit good. That being said... Could you please do something besides sit at the portal the entire game? Maybe kill a few adds, bank a few motes, really anything would be pretty helpf-oh you're invading again... Cool...
    • Way of a Thousand Cuts: Either you're rocking Ophidia Spathe with Gambler's Dodge and you love running around with infinite knives, or it's the third round of Gambit and you've swapped to Shards of Galanor. Either way, you probably aren't going to be using your weapons a single time in the entirety of the game. And somehow, you're still doing better than the average player.
    • Way of the Sharpshooter: You're rocking Celestial Nighthawk. You still revel in how massive that one damage number is, and you value optimal DPS above everything else, having that massive burst damage followed by usual weapon damage. And yet, you still don't out-DPS the punchy boi Warrior doing whatever he's doing.
    • Way of the Trapper: Gambit is basically your dream game mode (outside of Reckoning). Waves and waves of adds, and a massive group of enemies once Primeval spawns. Now you're relatively few and far between, but you're still there, rocking Orpheus Rigs and throwing off a tether every other wave. Whoever you are, we respect you :3
    • Way of the Pathfinder: You were probably a Trapper until the somewhat-recent buffs to Moebius Quiver. Now instead of popping your tethers every other wave, you don't pop a single one until Prime time. Which is understandable; it's one of the highest-damaging supers in the game, it comes with a pretty notable debuff, and Heart of the Pack is really nice. Not quite as respected as Trappers, but we still respect you nonetheless :3
    • Anything else: I question why you play Gambit... To be fair, you might just REALLY like that subclass... But you'd probably like it better in any other game mode. Not like Gambit's the perfect game mode or anything.

    Titan:

    • Code of the Protector: You play this game because Ward of Dawn is great. You're either that guy with Helm of Saint-14 which bubbles when Prime-time comes (hoping your teammates recognize Weapons of Light is a thing), or you're in Gambit Prime, invading with a full Invader set, a sword, and Stronghold, and bubbling on the enemy bank. The former I respect. The latter I'm intrigued by. Not exactly tilted when you drain everything I have, not exactly laughing out of how dumb the strat is... Just... Intrigued.
    • Code of the Earthshaker: You're running Insurmountable Skullfort and shoulder-charging everything in sight. Tbh you're surprisingly effective at clearing out adds, and majors will go down relatively quickly, because you've memorized the exact health threshold at which you can execute every blocker in the game without using up your melee charge. One of the most Titan ways to play the game, because who need gun when punch do job? Except... There's one subclass which is slightly more Titan than Earthshaker.
    • Code of the Missile: You knew exactly where I was going when I mentioned Earthshaker with Insurmountable Skullfort. You're basically the Titan-er version of Earthshaker. You're out here slamming everything in sight, killing every add which dares challenge your Titan-ness, and then Thundercrashing into the nearest major as soon as you whiff a slam to get your slam back. You're literally the most mobile add-slaying machine in the game, and you're always an entire wave ahead of your team, which is struggling to gather all the motes you left on the ground.
    • Code of the Fire-Forged: To be honest, I'm surprised you're still here when Weapons of Light has returned. Maybe you gain satisfaction from YEETing yourself into Primeval, maybe you just REALLY like hammers. Maybe you've tried Protector, but nobody used Weapons of Light, so you went back to hammers and went for the second biggest "Unload everything you have on the Primeval RIGHT NOW" move by Melting Point'ing Primeval. Of course, the BIGGEST signal of "Damage the big boi right now" is right around the corner... EDIT: You're also likely rocking Peregrine Greaves. Likely with Monte Carlo for infinite YEETs, but definitely Peregrine Greaves.
    • Anything else: To be honest, you're a Titan, you probably really like whatever subclass you're using, doing the power move of "I play what I want; meta don't matter". I don't blame you, they're all pretty fun. But I'm not sure exactly why you're playing Gambit.

    EDIT:

    • Code of the Aggressor / Commander: The only reason I put you two together is because you use the same Monte Carlo + Doomfang Pauldrons build. You're a fountain of Orbs of Light with your infinite supers, and you fuel your entire team to give them all their supers as well. Some people recognize you as a generous being with how many Orbs of Light you give, but secretly you just love Captain America'ing absolutely everything in sight.

    Warlock:

    • Attunement of Grace: You play this game because Well of Radiance is great. You probably don't really care too much for the support aspect of it so much as having a super which is basically a massive red blinking sign saying "Hey, throw all your stuff at the Primeval RIGHT NOW". And to be honest, you're probably the reason why 75% of your wins turned out to be wins.
    • Attunement of Control: You're 100% playing this subclass for Chaos Reach. Maybe you like the amount of sheer damage you can output, maybe you're in love with the power fantasy that a giant f-off laser beam can create, but you're 100% playing this subclass because Chaos Reach is a thing. You might also be rocking Riskrunner to double-dip on the Stormcaller supers (basically omnipresent Stormtrance for adds, then Chaos Reach for Prime time), but outside of that you could literally be anybody who enjoys lasers.
    • Attunement of Chaos: Two words: Slowva Bomb. Also Oppressive Darkness, but Slowva Bomb. Out of the many ways an enemy Primeval's health can drop by a third in an instant, Slowva Bomb's probably the most common. Not to mention it's incredibly fun randomly throwing one in the distance and watching a random guardian run off towards the other side of the map out of sheer terror. Oppressive Darkness is nice, giving a massive damage boost when your infinite grenades are doing things... But Slowva Bomb.
    • Attunement of Hunger: You've gotten tired of your team doing basically nothing and have turned yourself into a one-man army. You run at literally every add in the game; it doesn't matter, you aren't going to die. Kill every add in sight, heal back to full, get so many grenades to throw. Invader comes in? Dunk 'em with a Nova Bomb. Prime time? Chuck an Oppressive Darkness grenade, dunk Primeval with your Bomb, and watch as the health bar drops. Meanwhile your team's doing god knows what on the other side of the map.
    • Anything else: Eeeeeh, they're not bad. Not exactly great when compared to other subclasses, but I can understand why you like using them. Gambit probably isn't the *best* place to run those, but I'm not judging. You do you.

What your Role says about you:

    • Invader: Either you're camping the portal and doing absolutely nothing for your team, or you're actually helping to clear out adds and blockers while waiting for your time to shine. The former is more likely to get instantly killed off spawn-in, the latter is more likely to carry the team. Either way, you get extremely annoyed when someone snatches your heavy or steals your portal.
    • Sentry: You dislike that Gambit is so focused on how well an Invader does and felt the need to do something about it. Blockers are nothing compared to your massive burst damage, and Invaders start shaking in their boots after their first invade getting shut down by a well-placed shot. You've memorized every single Invader spawn on every single map and know exactly where the Invader will be before they even spawn in. And you're probably rocking Taken Armaments.
    • Reaper: You're probably in a 2-stack with a Collector. You're likely the most capable PvE player in the group, and you relish in killing absolutely everything in sight. Seeing all the motes dropping from the corpses of your foes feels incredibly satisfying to you, and that massive hostile defeats number at the end of the game is why you play this game. You probably couldn't care less about when the Invader comes in; that ain't your job, he ain't gonna try to kill you. They'll peek your Collector buddy, and you'll probably only pop a shot their way to help out your Collector buddy.
    • Collector: You're the unsung hero of the group. To be honest, you're probably only doing this because you're farming Spare Rations and dislike how monotonous, brain-dead, and grindy Reckoning is. In which case, you're constantly going for 20-mote blockers. Which to be fair isn't completely detrimental to your team, since you'll drop 'em all some of 'em on death and your Reaper buddy will likely pick up whatever you've dropped (or better yet, rez you and let you go back to getting on that 20-mote train).

Honestly, this took me way longer than I was expecting, and I actually finished my programming project before this got done lol. Also, don't take anything in this post seriously; I tried my best to keep it satirical and positive. And if I missed your loadout, I'm sorry :3

Oh, and I'm a Fighting Lion/Attunement of Hunger/Reaper main, for whoever was curious as to how biased I was.

    Hope y'all enjoyed :3

Titans can exploit infinite health regen in crucible using hammers and the bug hasn't been acknowledged yet.

    Posted: 21 Nov 2019 02:53 PM PST

Just throw the hammer into the wall while you're in the process of running into the wall and it triggers health regen, you also get your hammer back to repeat whenever. Extremely easy to replicate

Here's a clip of it in action

This really should be fixed before buffing the subclass

Bungie PLS: Nerf the Red Team, and other requests...

    Posted: 21 Nov 2019 03:51 AM PST

    1. Nerf the Red Team. I don't like challenges, but don't nerf them too much, cos I don't want to pub stomp everyone.
    2. Make pinnacle weapons easier to get, so I and everyone else can get them. But then I can complain that they are rampant in the crucible and the required load-out for EVERY PvE activity
    3. Make seals easier to get. So, I can complain that they aren't special cos everyone has them.
    4. Make the gear grind easier. Pinnacle drops should be +5, so I can get to "max light" within a week and then complain that there is nothing to grind for.
    5. Remove elemental affinities from armour 2.0. So, I can get a 65-base stats gear and then have nothing to chase.
    6. Make more content because I have spent 300 hours in the last 2 weeks completing everything and now I have nothing to do.
    7. Please stop changing upgrade materials. I haven't hoarded 200,000 enhancement cores, so that next season I can't just magically make all of my gear max light in a matter of seconds.
    8. Don't time gate anything, it makes me feel like I actually have to play the game to get stuff.
    9. Make all artefact mods obtainable, so that I don't have to make a "build"
    10. Make changes immediately, we all know that development time does not exist. Like it only takes 10 mins to make a Pokémon so, can we just do this in destiny?
    11. Remove the META weapons. Having a "best" weapon means that I have to chase it.
    12. Now that you have no financial backing and have made the game free to play, please stop trying to make money from other resources. I have already payed enough as a day 1 player who spent $200 on each and every special edition.
    13. Please make it so that I don't have to actually play the game. I have other priorities in my life, like Anthem!
    14. MOAR VAULT SPACE! I need to keep every blue, green, white, purple and yellow drop so that i always have access to everything i have ever collected.

Edit 1: Thank you for the Platinum, Golds and Silvers! I'd like to thank The Red Team for all the sweaty times. I believe that it was them that pushed all of us Atheons off the edge.

Edit 2: TBH i should have seen this coming, as it seems to happen on every satire thread, but here we go. THIS ENTIRE POST IS A JOKE! NOTHING HERE IS MEANT TO BE SERIOUS. HAVE A LAUGH

    Damn, i love this game.

In an expansion & season that deals with Oryx, Crota, and the Vex, I'm surprised Bungie didn't bring back Necrochasm, Touch of Malice, or Vex Mythoclast in a secret exotic mission.

    Posted: 21 Nov 2019 07:11 AM PST

DISCLAIMER: This isn't criticism of Bungie or a negative post. I'm just genuinely curious why they didn't bring back any of those weapons, given the theme(s) of the Expansion and Season. Proceed.

DISCLAIMER #2: For those triggered that I mentioned Destiny 1 exotics, The ONLY content released in the secret exotic missions thus far are reprised Destiny 1 exotics. (Whisper of the Worm, Outbreak Prime, Bad JuJu). Other than the secret exotic mission, I'd want all exotics introduced to be new. Proceed once more.

    Necrochasm

"Eternity is very close. Can you feel yourself slipping?"

    Visuals

    Necrochasm Perks

    • Intrinsic - Cascade

Melee kills increase the reload speed of this weapon for a short time.

    • Perk 1 - Zen Moment

Causing damage with this weapon increases its stability.

    • Exotic Perk - Cursebringer

Kills with this weapon trigger a Cursed Thrall explosion.

    More Info:

    • It would be the first and only 900 RPM Auto Rifle in D2. Unless they included the Legendary version, Eidolon Ally again. It's a great Legendary replacement if you don't wanna use your exotic slot.

    • The original weapon was a reward from the 'Crota's End' raid (After obtaining the Crux of Crota) in 'The Dark Below' expansion

    • We got a Nightmare version in D2

    • We also have direct access to the Hellmouth, where the original weapon was found.

    Touch of Malice

"Let them feel every lash, every curse, every touch of malice that they first dealt to me." —Eris Morn

    Visuals:

    Touch of Malice Perks

    • Intrinsic/Exotic Perk #1 - Touch of Malice

Final round of the magazine regenerates and deals bonus damage at the cost of the wielder's life force.

    • Perk 1 - Eye of the Storm

This weapon becomes more accurate as your health gets lower.

    • Exotic Perk #2 - Touch of Mercy

Three rapid kills will return a portion of the wielder's health.

    More Info:

    • The original weapon was a reward from the King's Fall raid in 'The Taken King'.

    • The Collector's Edition Cryptoglyph includes links to Bungie.net that strongly hinted at the return of Oryx.

    • I believe I read that Eris Morn has this weapon in her possession.

    Vex Mythoclast

"...a causal loop within the weapon's mechanism, suggesting that the firing process somehow binds space and time into..."

    Visuals:

    Vex Mythoclast Perks

    • Intrinsic/Exotic Perk - Timeless Mythoclast

This weapon has no charge time. It fires a single bolt with each trigger pull.

    • Perk 1 - Zen Moment

Causing damage with this weapon increases its stability.

    • Perk 2 - Crowd Control

Kills with this weapon grant bonus damage for a short time.

    More Info:

    • The original weapon was a reward from the Vault of Glass raid in Vanilla Destiny 1.

    • With a major focus in converging timelines (for the Undying Mind plot), Vex Mythoclast seems appropriate.

In the end, the hidden exotic missions we've had so far was a surprise return of an old, Destiny 1 exotic. Whisper of the Worm (Formally known as Black Hammer and/or Black Spindle) and Outbreak Prime, for example. Finishing off the season w/ one of these 3 exotics would definitely hit the spot.

Can we get a gambit map for the moon?

    Posted: 21 Nov 2019 07:39 AM PST

Kinda surprised we didn't get one with Shadowkeep, and I know that Bungie is supposedly going to update Gambit at some point, but having a map on the moon would be nice, perhaps revisiting part of the Anomaly crucible map from D1.

Amanda Holliday and Sloane are hiding something from us

    Posted: 21 Nov 2019 07:42 PM PST

All the way back in year 1 we transmitted a whole hive crystal thing that the hive were singing and worshipping to. We haven't heard a peep from Amanda or Sloane about it since that time. Amanda was planning on making thrusters and warp drives with its power. Sloane also was involved in that mission yet she doesn't say anything about it either. What happened to that big-ass hive crystal?

I’d Like To File A Formal Complaint. We’re Being LIED To.

    Posted: 21 Nov 2019 07:53 PM PST

So the wonderful service that goes around and picks up our lost items and brings them to the postmaster. They're great right? That's what they WANT you to think. Glimmer doesn't get automatically picked up now. Meaning it's left behind with all our worthless rare engrams and primes. So now you might be thinking, "hmm, why doesn't it arrive at my postmaster then?" This is where it gets interesting..

Because the postmaster crew is stuffing their own damn pockets with the glimmer we won't so (moderately) hard to earn. Every time that crew goes out to pick up our loot this glimmer mysteriously goes missing. Is New Monarchy using it to hold some power in the city? Is FWC hoarding it to be annoying with? Is Dead Orbit involved? Probably not, they're awesome. The Spider owes us one and I think he probably already knows about it. This is a serious crime. It think it's disgusting, egregious, and most importantly, whether we wanted it or not, we've stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let's get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta'aurc. From what I can gather, he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank just outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defenses, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold.

Fundamental flaw of FOMO seasonal activities.

    Posted: 21 Nov 2019 09:49 AM PST

FOMO - Fear of Missing Out

Hate to seem like I'm jumping on the bandwagon of hate here, since there are a ton of posts here about related issues, but the problem I have with FOMO-laced Destiny seasons being the new normal is a bit more nuanced than "FOMO bad", the real problem is that it creates a no win situation for Bungie.

Either the activity is mediocre to bad (which is the range I would bet most players outside of the most casual would slot Vex Offensive), in which case there's no positive nostalgia for the activity OR they strike gold and the activity is beloved, in which case if they take it away at the end of the season there's going to rightfully be a huge backlash from the community for taking away something they loved.

IMO, Bungie needs to entirely reframe both their communications and thought process from "limited-time activities you had to be there for" to "experimental activity design".

Recognize and be up front with the community that the new activities won't all be winners because they are experimental, and keep the aspect where the non-winners will be cut but slide away from framing this as a FOMO-creation system and soft-commit to keeping the great activities (that we all know Bungie is capable of) around even if the story progresses beyond them (kinda doesn't matter in Destiny, we're already used to a system where strikes and raids can be replayed whenever even if they are lore-wise tied to a specific time period).

tl; dr - As much as people are complaining about Vex Offensive being a huge let-down right now, the community outrage if the activity was great and was still being removed after the season would be FAR WORSE, so Bungie is setting itself up for failure either way.

    Vex Offensive oddity?

    Posted: 21 Nov 2019 11:14 AM PST

I know this is going to get downvoted into oblivion as do most of the posts I make, but here goes.

Was doing some Vex Offensive this week and something caught my eye. On the final boss, once it moves off a platform if you continue to stand on it some little white panels come up around the edges of it. If you get off the plate they freeze until you get back on.

Is there a significance to this that my google-fu has not been able to decipher? Is this old news? Not sure if spoiler so flagged just in case

-edit- Woo I think this may be my first trip to the front page!! Hope it doesn't turn out to be nothing now!

This game has some of the friendliest players I’ve ever seen

    Posted: 21 Nov 2019 04:18 PM PST

    Howdy, Destiny fans.

I'm a new player who just started a day ago and became instantly hooked by the game. Not having played video games for several years, it felt good to be passionate about it again.

Just earlier today, I was roaming around the Earth zone for some introductory quests. I saw someone waving at me. He shot up at the ruined house near him many times and then he waved at me again. That left me confused. So I went to check out and found a chest. This person also helped me with an event that summoned some blue crystal, I'm not sure how to call it. Too bad I had to leave to talk to some characters so I waved him back.

I know it's just a minor thing for most people but I just found this to be really great that someone actually takes their time to help new players in the game. Maybe because I barely played multiplayer games many years back. A lot of players might have had the same positive experience as I did. I'm just glad I met one of the good ones. I got the feeling that I'm a part of the really good community here, I hope.

Anyways, that'll be it for now. I thank you for reading and I hope you all have a beautiful day. And apologies for not-so-good English. It's been awhile for me to write again.

In case you didn't know, your Recovery stat affects the rate at which you regen health from certain exotic weapons and abilities

    Posted: 21 Nov 2019 04:39 PM PST

For example, 10 vs 100 stats in Recovery greatly changes how quickly your health/shields return when being healed by Crimson. If you are focused on creating optimal builds for SCs like Code of the Juggernaut, make sure and stack that Recovery high!

P.S. You should be stacking recovery anyways lol

Izanagi: You can maintain a honed edge on reload

    Posted: 21 Nov 2019 08:39 AM PST

I know this has been posted months ago. I have cleared GoS 6 times without knowing this. Didn't quite realize why my DPS was so bad. Just thought I sucked. Found out last night on my 7th clear.

if you hold the reload button right after firing the buffed shot, you can reload into another Honed Edge mag without having to reload again. There is a very small time window on this, you really need to start holding the reload button right when you fire the shot, otherwise the gun automatically reloads a full mag and then proceeds to reload again into a buffed shot.

Please communicate with your teammates instead of kicking them. They may be go from worst dps to best dps with a little information!

The Festering Core strike is awesome! The way it showed up in game without anything tied to it was a missed opportunity.

    Posted: 21 Nov 2019 08:59 PM PST

Honestly I didn't even know it existed the first few weeks of the season. It's a shame the strike is not highlighted more because the setting, story, and lore are really cool and move the story of Savathun forward, even just a small amount. In my mind, Bungie could have used this stellar content more instead of silently dropping it as a strike without a story or loot reason to play it. I'm sure a lot of development hours went into it, so let's use it for something...show off your hard work, Bungie! It could make for cool world-building during the season, and how you present something makes a big difference.

Brainstorming here, sometime during the season (not on the roadmap), a message could have popped up that said Eris has sent out a call for Guardians to investigate the strange new portal on Io. We check it out, and there's a unique weapon at the end of the strike. Even just a message from Zavala or Eris asking us to investigate would have tied this standalone strike more into the larger story.

I'm hoping that they'll at least feature it next season as an Ordeal Nightfall with champions and everything.

Just like Valus Thu’un, we are caught in a time loop searching for a reality where something else happens with Vex Offensive.

And we will never win, but we don't know it.

    Or do we?

Positive Aspects of Season of Undying

    Posted: 21 Nov 2019 05:59 AM PST

Although I agree with a lot of the criticism about the season (Final Assault felt disappointing, the Eververse re-tuning feels too expensive, Artifacts shouldn't be so expensive to reset, etc) I have also enjoyed a number of things about Season of Undying that I have not seen come up that I would like to talk about a little bit.

    1) Season Rank
I really enjoyed the Season Pass! I have never played a game that has this kind of seasonal, limited-time progress system but I enjoyed it much more than I thought I would. It was really neat to be able to see what I was working toward and I actually felt a sense of accomplishment as I slowly unlocked the Phenotype Plasticity ornaments (which are very good ornaments) and finally slapped the "For Wei" ornament on my Eriana's Vow.

The progress for the season pass felt very good to me. It was long enough that I felt like I'd accomplished something but not so long that it felt like a slog or completely out of reach.

As for the rewards themselves they were mostly pretty good but there sure were some duds. 100 Bright Dust and 25 Vex Mind components felt a bit like an insult and the poor stat rolls (save for one or two pieces) meant that my Substitutional Alloy pieces were effectively insta-sharded.

Overall I really enjoyed the Season Rank rewards and look forward to seeing how they improve next season.

    2) Artifact Mod Builds

This is the real reason for this post if I'm honest. I finished up my play time last night and realized that I felt the most powerful I have ever felt in my two years of playing Destiny 2 with my Warlock.

My current build is Tranquility, Recluse, Hammerhead. The relevant armor is Nezarec's Sin, all the sniper scavenging mods, Breach Refractor, Oppressive Darkness, and Enhanced Ashes to Assets for my top -tree Voidwalker.

This build is so much fun. I'm constantly slinging fully charged void grenades that fill my super meter very quickly, use Recluse and HH to refill my grenades, constantly drop rifts, and always have ammo to snipe anything that's out of 'nade range. Breach Refractor basically gives Demolitionist to the Recluse and I'm going to miss it so much when the next season comes around.

I have also had a lot of fun with Arc Battery - Unstoppable Melee - Liar's Handshake Hunter and similar void/arc builds with Doomfang/Skullfort.

Experimenting with the Artifact Mods is really fun when everything aligns the right way I stumble into a build that works. I was really lucky to get 60+ void armor for all those sniper scav perks and extremely lucky to get EA2A from Uncle Saladin the first week of Iron Banner.

While I do feel very powerful there's definitely some things I would change for next season. Although I appreciate the focus on Arc and Void it does suck that Solar is going to be sub-optimal for a whole season. It'd be great if each element had some attention in future seasons.

And please don't make me pay to do a full reset of the artifact. I'd really like to experiment even more but don't feel like spending 60K+ Glimmer just to try out new builds for each of my characters at the end of the season.

    3) Sense of Changing world

Yes Final Assault was disappointing. There's really no other way to say it.

However, I look at this season as Bungie trying out their "evolving world" concept and I don't think it was a total failure, I just want more of it.

The Vex invasions on the Moon look really cool! The first time I saw it in the wild my jaw actually dropped. It felt overwhelming and apocalyptic and was effective because I'd spent a good amount of time on the Moon before the invasions started happening. I had a sense of what it looked like without them so it felt like an invasion of my territory when they started.

Playing the actual invasions is pretty straightforward but it looks neat and was really fun to solo with a 1-2 Punch Wormgod's Caress Titan.

The other change through the season was Ikora's Arts and Crafts corner. I repeat: the Final Assault was disappointing but it was fun to check in on Ikora each week and see how her big project was coming along. For once it really did feel like (at least one of the) folks in the tower were paying attention to what was happening in the system.

For future seasons I just want more. More dialog with NPCs (even if it's just text-based! VO is expensive, I'm sure!),more visual changes to the Tower, and a final act that feels worthy of the buildup.

    4) Nightfall Ordeals

The 920 is basically the perfect matchmaking activity for me: difficult enough that I need to think about my loadout and play carefully but not so hard that I have to sweat.

I ended up doing them several times with each character ... the first time they rolled around. However, once the Pyramidion came back up last week I didn't bother. It would be nice if future seasons had a longer rotation (though I imagine this will be easier as more Ordeals are introduced into the game).

The loot for the Ordeals can feel great or it can feel like shit. Two weeks ago I ran 10 or so and probably had one prism. Previously I had been getting two prisms every other run. I feel like there needs to be a bit more consistency with the distribution of loot there but then again RNG gonna RNG so I'm not sure if that's possible or not.

    Summary

Season of Undying was not perfect but I don't think it was a total failure. If I had spent $10 for just season rank rewards I would have got my money's worth. I think Bungie have made a good start and I'm really excited to see what Season of Dawn has for us.

The 'Undying' title is only available for 19 more days. Here's my guide to getting everything done.

    Undying Title Guide

I posted this here before towards the start of the season and it seemed to help a lot of people... and now that the end is closing in; I thought I'd update the guide and send it back out there to hopefully help anyone who needs it.

If you're just starting this grind today, the good news is that you still have a decent amount of time to get it all done as long as you don't mind putting in multiple hours a day.

Just a quick FAQ based on many comments from the last time I passed this guide around...

    • You need everything in the Season of the Undying collections-badge for the title. No exceptions. This includes the 3 pinnacle/ritual weapons from this season... and the rewards from the other quests that you will receive from Shaxx, Drifter, and Zavala.
    • Completing a Master-level Nightfall: The Ordeal is required for the title. It isn't as bad as it sounds, I know you can do it.
    • It has never been easier to hit gain 2100 glory (for Randy's). Find some friends who have patience and just start queuing for survival. It will be over before you know it, I promise.

The clock is ticking, good luck.

Trying to finish your normal mod collection? Spider & Brother Vance are you friends!

    Posted: 21 Nov 2019 10:15 AM PST

For the uninitiated, Brother Vance on Mercury has the best exchange rate for planetary materials to reward Engram. Each of his reward engrams will drop one weapon or armor piece AND a shader that can be recycled into shards. Due to this shader & the exchange rate, you can reliably farm his rewards for mods without losing all your shards.

    How it works:

    1. Buy simulation seeds from Spider for shards. As i write this, he currently has them listed for sale.
    2. Take them to Mercury and exchange them to Brother Vance. Shard everything you don't want to keep.

I did this, claiming 110 reward packages and received 37 mods. Several others have corroborated this method.

    Things to note:

    - You will recover ~50% of the shards you spend this way.

    - You will NOT get enhanced mods, only regular ones. This is a great way to clean up the mod pool so you can get the enhanced mods from vendors that can drop them.

    - Brother Vance can no longer drop Exotics, but there is a decent chance to get Masterworked gear.

Fire up Youtube/Netflix/etc, get in a groove, and go finish that mod collection.

Just gonna leave this here in case any more of the Vanguard dies between now and the end of Destiny 3, for nostalgia purposes.

Iron Banner will NOT bring back D1 sets as confirmed on Twitter

Bring back bright engrams...just that's it, do it please, it limits the grind factor, one less thing to grind for.

Bungie said they want us to say “we were there when....”

    Posted: 21 Nov 2019 05:35 AM PST

So Luke Smith has told us that he wants these seasonal events to give us that feeling of "I was there when (event happened).." and then it's gone. Leaving us with a nostalgic sense of accomplishment and hype. Something we can share with new players coming in and look forward to the next event.

So my question is this: Does anyone feel like killing the Undying Mind and the Vex Offensive left that feeling for you?

I personally feel an overwhelming sense of letdown. We've have spent the last month watching Ikora build the Gate and tell us about out "important work". We have been spending this time wondering about how cool or difficult the Final Assault would be. And we get.....a different boss....

I'm not going to walk away from Season of the Undying with anymore sense of nostalgia than I did Season of the Drifter, or The Forge or Opulence. As a matter of fact, this season was decidedly MORE forgettable then the former.

If this is the model for the "game altering events" to come in future seasons....I'm disappointed that it won't get me very excited.

ELIF: What is Trials of Osiris and Why Is It So Beloved?

    Posted: 21 Nov 2019 08:51 AM PST

I did not play D1 at all and only really started getting into D2 around Forsaken so I never got into Trials. I was just curious what it is and what about it is so special? It is regularly brought up, never negatively, and it feels like 99% of guardians want it back and are disappointed when it doesn't show up in a new season? What differentiates it from other 3v3 PvP? Thank you for any insight.
