Here's a short comparison video that shows how far behind a Warlock's melee speed falls compared to other classes.

    Posted: 02 Dec 2019 03:21 PM PST

    Spoilers: It falls significantly behind.

    https://streamable.com/dn2bp

This was done by smashing the melee button until five melees were performed with each class. The more melees you do, the further behind warlocks fall. This is a pretty egregious issue considering all classes have the same melee range. It means you are out of luck the moment you engage in a melee fight with anyone except another Warlock.

But no enemies are being hit in that video. Does this apply to actual melee fights?

    The answer is yes.

    https://streamable.com/5a1k4

Will this be fixed next season?

    One can hope.

Please STOP trying to KILL ME in my PURPLE BUBBLE!

    Posted: 02 Dec 2019 05:38 AM PST

When I put a bubble up around a control zone it just means that I want quiet moment all to my self! I'm not a threat to anyone. I am just a lone Titan in my big purple bubble and there is NO WAY I can possibly manage to stop one, two, three, or even four Guardians who try and charge me in my bubble.

Please do not rush me with your shotguns and your fusion rifles! I couldn't possibly punch you before you even get a shot off and there's no way that I could punch one, two, three, four, or all five of your teammates and then turn around and punch you! It's just too much!

And whatever you do, do NOT stand outside my bubble for fifteen seconds trying to decide if you should rush in and try to get me! That's really spooky and makes it much easier to kill me.

What you need to understand is that I am VERY VULNERABLE when I am in my bubble and practically a free kill. So whatever you do, please be nice and let me play Iron Banner in peace.

Towerthought: In Savathun’s Song, if you kill the Shrieker before needing to use the void charge, then Taeko-3 sacrifices herself for nothing.

    Posted: 02 Dec 2019 08:48 AM PST

Void crystals are necessary to make a void charge which is used to take down the Shrieker. If you melt the boss, however, then there's really no point in Taeko dying in the first place.

The Vault should be accessible through the menu instead of Eververse.

    Posted: 02 Dec 2019 03:56 PM PST

Its just a more useful thing to have and would actually improve the game.

This would fix all the inventory management issues in the game, but I get how this might slow down the menu since every player has different gear in their vault compared to the static gear on Eververse every week.

I would triple my playtime if quests were account-wide.

    Posted: 02 Dec 2019 08:50 AM PST

What I mean by that is, every time I log on one of my two "alts," the quest log is filled with Exotic quests (and others) I've already completed. They just take up space. I don't want to do them again. I can abandon some, sure, but then they just pop back up when I talk to a vendor.

It's a small thing, but this keeps me from playing two of my three characters as much as I would like. If some of these important quests were account bound, I wouldn't feel like my progression was lost between characters. It would make the terrible game of quest/bounty management a little bit better.

Armor 1.0 allowed you to move around 1 (now 10) stat points between Mob/Res/Rec - For some reason this was removed with Armor 2.0. Giving Armor 2.0 10 flex points to allocate among the "big 3" stats would go a long way to allowing us to optimize our builds and negate some of the awful triple-RNG.

    Posted: 02 Dec 2019 11:57 AM PST

Was playing around with some Armor 1.0 yesterday and really loved that I could move around stat points to get my build to where I needed it to be. It's absolutely ridiculous they removed this functionality from Armor 2.0.

Returning this ability would be a great QOL change Bungie and help offset the ridiculous amount of RNG that is involved with Armor pieces these days.

    Strikes need an Overhaul.

    Posted: 02 Dec 2019 01:12 PM PST

Ever since that D1 rose tinted glasses thread popped up, I've been constantly thinking about a lot of things D1 did better than D2. A huge thing is strikes, and Nightfalls. Let me explain:

I'll break this down into a couple separate things. Loot, Location, Boss Fight, and Mechanics.

In D2, nothing really stands out. Most bosses are just immune phase locked. No real mechanics that make the boss a challenge, just ones that make you wait. No locations really stood out, except Warden of Nothing and the Corrupted. They're probably the most unique strikes in D2, and 1 is a reprisal of Prison of Elders.

-Boss Fights: In D1, most bosses had some unique thing going for it. Shield Brothers had the 2 bosses, one camping with mortars, and one being aggressive and chasing you. That led to a dynamic fight, where you weren't just camping and waiting. Darkblade had a boss fight in near darkness, with the first huge knight of it's kind that would try to smash you, and get more aggressive the more he was damaged. Also spawned a lot of cursed thralls. S.A.B.E.R.--2 changed the layout of the room, with raising blast shields, opening pits in the ground, and spawning different kinds of shanks throughout the room, and even spawned a heavy crate or 2. Wretched Eye had the immune ogre constantly chasing you, with the boss having the ogre's eye trying to melt you. I guess my point is, no fights in D2 are really dynamic and tense like D1 is. That's one reason why they're so boring.

-Loot: In D1, you had normal heroics, which had the small chance to give strike exclusives, but they also added Skeleton Keys and Chests in RoI. That was a great system that needs to be brought back, but the loot needs to back it up. Most strike exclusives in D2 don't stand out at all. In D1, you had the glowing flayer cloaks, the shield brothers gauntlets for the Titan, the sparking Devouring Maw for Warlocks, and the bond that displayed the Warmind logo, until it would be periodically "hacked" by the SIVA one. The Mongrel Ogres grasps, for the Hunter, from Photgoth. Devils Dawn, a great overall PvE sniper. You get my point? D2 has none of this, not even close. The weapons are mostly lackluster and don't stand out. All except the Warden's hand Cannon, that's a well done exclusive. There are 2 sparrows and a ship, but the ship is one of the most boring skins in the game, and only looks remotely unique because of the very slight Vex decals. Tilt Fuse and Impact Velocity are pretty cool, with one being lime green and having a unique look, and impact Velocity being a neon blue, and having a blue trail. They're good rewards, the only true unique ones. We need good strike loot back.

-Modifiers: Burn vs Singe. Need I say any more? The singe seems to relatively have no difference to your damage, that I can notice, but it definitely seems to get you melted way faster by the enemy. Also, why is Daybreak not a thing anymore? And why don't Nightfalls have the Nightfall modifier? That's why they're called Nightfalls. Now, they're extremely easy to beat because there's almost no risk or anything, both in the strike and the boss fight itself. We don't even have Small Arms or Specialist. At least we have Heavyweight.

-Medals/Scoring: We need this back in strikes. We have a basis, with the scoring, but we need the Vanguard Elite system from D1 back. The medals popping up was very satisfying with kills and everything. It would help with strikes being so boring and stale. Also, the Vanguard Elite bounties, and the armor set from that, was a good system.

That's about it. Those are the main points I wanted to bring up. Strikes are just, boring now, and have no variety and no difficulty. The bosses are all just immune phase locked copypastas of each other, it seems. The only outliers to this, in my opinion, are Warden of Nothing and The Corrupted. They keep the fight moving, and remotely tense.

TL:DR -- Bring back Vanguard Elite system from Rise of Iron, with the medals, bounties, and armor set. Reflect on D1 strikes, and bring those types of mechanics into D2, instead of immune phasing the boss. Bring back worthwhile strike exclusives like the flayer cloaks or Devouring Maw or Mau'ual's Maulers, and implement the Skeleton Key system back into the game. Make the bosses actually hard to fight, make them switch the encounter up, instead of disappearing or hiding behind a shield. Also, bring back the weapons based modifiers, and Daybreak. These are all great things from D1 missing in D2.

EDIT: Suggestions for strikes in one place

Make every Nightfall have at least one piece of exclusive loot, specifically an armor piece or weapon that is themed around the strike. Take the Omnigul Bond for example, or the Mau'uls Maulers. They were hive and cabal themed, respectively, as were their strikes.

Implement the Vanguard Elite systems into either the normal strike playlist, or recreate the heroic strike playlist, complete with modifiers. The Vanguard Elite includes the daily and weekly bounties, the exclusive armor set, and the medals and scoring system.

Put 3 modifiers back into rotation/selection -Small Arms -Specialist -Daybreak

With the season drawing to a close, let’s a look at seal rarity

    Posted: 02 Dec 2019 11:36 AM PST

All values are pulled off of Braytech, while not a perfect metric it's still a good representation.

Dredgen remains the most common title at 14.93%

    Wayfarer is next at 11.13%

    Cursebreaker currently sits at 7.93%

    Undying is 3.52%

    Chronicler is close at 3.44%

The best seal in the game (it's my only one), Rivensbane is 2.4%

    Shadow is at 1.45%

Blacksmith is barely rarer at 1.44%

If you have Reckoner, I'm pretty sure you qualify for discounts on therapy for playing that much gambit. You're at 1.07%. Get some help.

For some reason Enlightened doesn't have an "official" stat, but the flawless shader is at 0.84% so you can safely assume it's lower than that. My guess is that it's even lower than Harbinger, but I can't find a way to tell for sure.

Unbroken is at 0.81%. You guys are beasts, please stop taking my lunch money in iron banner.

Finally, we have Harbinger at 0.26%. Have fun listening to everyone call you Harbeenger on LFG.

And that's it. I know MMIX isn't on here, I can't find it on the braytech site. If someone is smarter than me (not hard) and can find the Enlightened and MMIX values I'll edit the post.

Edit: Thanks for the gold, definitely don't deserve it but I appreciate it. A couple guys with MMIX have chimed in and said Braytech shows its rarity at .07%. That seems unrealistically low to me, and the rarest triumph is around 12%. Just take it with a grain of salt.

In addition, the reason that Enlightened hasn't shown up is that Braytechs numbers are a week old, and so it hasn't become available in the systems eyes. I'd wager that most people who have flawless will have done the challenges, so expect that 0.84% number to be within reason.

Towerthought: The Hive intentionally moved all the human bones into the Scarlet Keep

    Posted: 02 Dec 2019 08:50 PM PST

The Keep is very new, like no more than 2 years old. However, there's scattered human bones all over it. At the top where you fight Hashladun, at the bottom where you kill Zulmak and everywhere in between.

Considering it's been centuries since the Collapse and an unspecified amount of time since the Great Disaster, there hasn't been a single mass death event on the Moon to justify all the bones, especially not in the Keep. The only answer is that the Hive see human bones as trendy decoration, and intentionally gather them from all over the Moon just to make their fancy new base look spookier. Maybe they even gather bones from Titan or other places the Hive go, if they run out of them on the Moon.

Why, though? is it to intimidate us? Is it for their dark rituals? Does it increase the property value? Does Hashladun post it to Instagram?

Skyburners oath has the worst catalyst in the game.

    Posted: 02 Dec 2019 08:49 AM PST

So skyburners oath's increases its range by 30. On a lot of guns that's insane. But skyburners oath has no damage drop off. So increasing its effective range does nothing for it. It's kinda sad. They could make it viable with the catalyst. But they killed the gun even further by giving it junk.

EDIT:ok. Yeah. Bullet magnetism, hip fire accuracy, aim assist. It adds SOMETHING. It isnt useless. But I stand by my point of it being the worst cat in the game.

It'd be great if there was an "Exotic Event" to highlight and update older exotics!

    Posted: 02 Dec 2019 07:01 PM PST

I don't think there's another event in Destiny for me to parallel my idea too but basically through a month or so, every reset a batch of exotics would get updated. Buffs don't have to be significant for all weapons or gear, some might need it more than others and some might not need buffs at all, just something to remind players, "Hey! This exotic exists!"

Alternatively, we can have an exotic season where every reset just a couple (2-3) of exotics are updated, to put more emphasis on those particular exotics. I know Bungie is hesitant to do sweeping changes to weapons all in one Sandbox and break the sandbox (like Lord of Wolves) but it hurts seeing only 4 or 5 exotics buffed every sandbox when there are dozens that need some tuning. There are some Red War exotics that have been under performing since launch and I think this implementation would be great.

The muzzle flash on Arc Logic is completely and utterly godawful

    Posted: 02 Dec 2019 04:09 AM PST

I just got a Flared Magwell - Field Prep - Triple Tap roll on this thing. I can literally shoot up a boss' face and their ads for minutes on end and kill it before I ever have to take my finger off the trigger because... The Bullets. Never. Stop.

But that also means that the horrible, eye-searing, seizure-inducing muzzle flash never stops. For fuck's sake; I am not joking, this thing gives me migraines and makes me feel half-blind after I look away from my screen. Please tone it down.

Dear Bungie, there is a bug for the “Lore” triumphs for “The Chronicon” under “The Darkness”. “The Chronicon” tab cannot be seen by some players. Therefore, there are unclaimable triumphs and so, there is a constant notification to claim those unclaimable triumphs.

    Posted: 02 Dec 2019 07:22 PM PST

I know Bungie probably knows this bug exists, but I just wanted to remind them just in case they forget to fix it when the next season comes out. Thank you.

A beginners guide to god roll weapons. What to look for and why. PVP and PVE.

    Posted: 02 Dec 2019 04:59 PM PST

God rolls are perk combinations that weapons can get that are EXTREMELY good. There are generally to types of rolls to look for, PVE god rolls and PVP god rolls.

Generally for PVE most god rolls will consist of lethality style rolls. A lethality roll consists of perks such as rampage and outlaw. Fast reloads and increased damage allow for quick and efficient clearing of trash mobs. Reload perks like outlaw can allow for a reload to complete before the damage bonuses run out keeping up the damage chain constantly. Magazine perks for PVE are usually focused on reload to make up for the absence of outlaw or magazine size to lessen the need for constant reloads. masterworks are usually more flexible and are either to help improve reload to increase

PVP god rolls are generally consistency style rolls. These rolls are usually filled with stability and range perks to make the weapons more consistent and useful in more situations. The extra range and stability make achieving the best time to kill the weapon can get much easier. Some PVP god rolls will feature lethality perks like outlaw and kill clip. This may make the roll look like a leathality roll but on most weapons they allow for weapons to be more forgiving in how they are used. It's rare for a damage perk to increase the time to kill in any extent that really matters. Kill clip is usually the preferable damage booster for PVP due to its high boost and only needing one kill to achieve it. Rampage can be useful but its main purpose in PVP is to help high damage weapons achieve and chain two trigger pull kills (like Bygones two-bursting and Duke two-tapping). Those weapons are in a few of the archetypes that benefit from an increase in damage in the form of a decreased time to kill. Over all, for PVP you go for range to outdistance your opponents and stability so that you can rapidly fire your weapon without your shot moving off target.

The long explanation cut short, go for reload and damage for PVE and stability and range in PVP and damage boosts are to increase reliability or to DRASTICALLY decrease the time to kill of the weapon.

Alternate versions of supers for different situations (like the bubble) is utterly awesome. Updating the subclasses in the future to incorporate alternate supers would be a welcome change.

I get a little sad whenever I check my postmaster messages...

There's nothing ever there ): It would be nice if, while I'm deleting blues, I can read a message from Ikora or Zavala or Amanda saying something like "You're doing great Guardian!". Or how about a message from an anonymous citizen like "My son is 5 years old and looks up to you. We're proud you're our Guardian." Or something! We slay literal gods daily it would be nice to get a letter now and then acknowledging our deeds.

What's the point of glory if I, with less than 400, only fight people 4000+?

    Posted: 02 Dec 2019 04:18 PM PST

I played 5 games today. Started at around 130 glory. You can check them out on DestinyTracker. Of the 25 other players in my games, 84% were above 4000 and only two (actually one because it was the same person twice) were below 1500.

EDIT: Turns out when Destiny tracker says "4" glory, it's a bug and it means 5500. So I've never played with anyone below 1500. /EDIT

It used to be that ranked games were easy until I got around the level I should be at. But now, even the first games of the season are sweat-fests against some of the best in the game. Why even have glory if it's not going to factor into ranked play at all?

I just want the glory for Randy's, but if I have to suffer through getting slaughtered by people who are hitting Legend, I am just not having fun. This is singlehandedly killing my drive for undying.

Pro Tip for players who go negative in Survival

    Posted: 02 Dec 2019 09:27 PM PST

Sit back, stop eating up your entire team's reserves. If you're losing the same way over and over, stop trying the same thing over and over. Sitting back and tapping someone once with a scout rifle is more of a helpful thing than you may realize. You don't have to be Rambo.
