I and 6 other musicians in the Destiny community have been working for over a year on a multi-genre cover album of the original D1 music. It’s called “Geomantic” and is 33 minutes long. You can listen to the whole thing right now.

    Posted: 22 Dec 2019 11:38 AM PST

    https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL5AEO04MqT1OOt_vjOB2XWBGSaCGm7aoK

Hey guys, this is a day we've waited a long time for. For over a year, we've been working on a cover album of the original Destiny soundtrack, and it's finally out for everyone. Geomantic is multi-genre. It includes music that's orchestral, metal, EDM, piano-solo, concert band, and more. Hopefully, there's something here for everyone; that's the goal. Some tracks are direct covers, while others are more "inspired by." So you know what you're getting into, or if you only want to hear specific tracks, here's a tracklist of what everything is.

    1. Via – Inspired by The Path
    2. Conjunctio – Metal cover of The Union
    3. Amissio – EDM cover of The Ruin
    4. Fortuna Minor – Concert band version of The Tribulation
    5. Rubeus – Metal cover of The Rose
    6. Laetitia – Piano cover of The Ecstacy
    7. Carcer – Harpsichord/Organ cover of The Prison
    8. Saeculum – Orchestral cover of The Hope
    9. Untold Redux – Metal cover of Untold Legends
    10. Geomantic – Original ambient music

You can get Geomantic for free on Bandcamp, or there's a MEGA folder in the description of the videos. It's also on Spotify, Tidal, Deezer, and Pandora. Disclaimer, we're paying a service to host the music to streaming services, but we set it up so that we are NOT making ANY money off those releases. This is purely for the convenience of you, the audience.

Anyone is free to use this music for ANYTHING they want. Want to use this in a video? It's yours. Eventually, there's going to be a longer album release of bonus tracks that didn't fit thematically into this release, as well as some pieces we thought were cool but had to cut for one reason or another. That release combined with this one, based on my current estimate, will be over an hour worth of music. It will also include a written portion of poetry called "Geomantic Revelations" that takes heavy inspiration from Destiny's Grimoire.

This has been a long time in the making. We put a LOT of hours into this. We hope you enjoy.

Perfect explanation of the issues with Hunters and PvP from Crucible Playbook

    Posted: 22 Dec 2019 07:20 AM PST

There's been constant debate on the state of PvP, especially concerning Hunters and them being the superior class. Since majority of the playerbase is Hunters they usually do everything to discredit what you say or downvote you to oblivion. I'll gladly accept the negative karma so that some can see this perfect explanation.

    From user u/TYBERIUS_777

They massively undersell their jump and class ability. The class ability is best in game. It's just that half of the hunter playerbase has no idea how to utilize it. They also don't understand the drawbacks of one hit kill abilities like HHSN or Shoulder Charge and quite literally bitched their way to a OHK ability. There are a ton of bad players on the forums that refuse to believe that they are responsible when they die to another class. They ignore obvious counters to shoulder charge and hand held supernova like using a radar or a shotgun and instead opt to charge in blindly over and over again and wonder why they die to a shoulder charging titan when every good player knows that it's only a noob stomping tool. Bottom tree striker is the best tree for crucible for most titans and it does not include shoulder charge.

Furthermore, hunters also continuously undersell their super abilities as well. Hunters have the best one time use super in blade barrage, granting an insane amount of armor with projectiles that rapidly come out so fast they may as well be hit scan. They can also throw two waves of them. Compare this to slowva bomb which moves at a snails pace or thunder crash which puts you in a bad spot after you come out of it. Most hunters also do not understand how to use golden gun and constantly complain that the super needs armor despite it being the only hitscan super in the game capable of killing someone from the other side of the map with no travel time. They will pop it in front of a whole team and wonder why they died. Hunters also posses the best dueling super in arcstrider which can 1v1 and destroy any other roaming super unless a hammer titan or a dawnblade manage to keep them at range. And even then middle tree arc strider can just reflect their projectiles back for double the damage.

Hunters will also bitch non-stop about OEM despite having access to the best wallhacks in the game with way of the wraith. Getting a precision kill is part of the game and using a slug shotgun to pop heads when you're sliding around a corner is not hard and allows you to see the entire enemy team through the wall in the form of full body outlines as opposed to a single mark on a single guardian from OEM. Flawless Execution is better than OEM tracking and always has been. It just requires a kill to get it rolling. Even Bungie agreed it was OP because they nerfed it with the release of Shadowkeep.

Hunters also undersell their exotics. There are about 7 exotics that hunters posses that directly buff their dodge which was buffed even more last patch by tying class ability cooldowns to stats like mobility and recovery. Titans suffer massively from this as running anything over 5 resilience is pointless. Warlocks benefit as recovery is amazing but both barricade and rift still have very long cooldowns and are massively situational when compared to dodge. Dodge with max cooldown can be utilized every 11 seconds which means a hunter can have a health boost every 11 seconds with Wormhusk Crown, weapon buffs from Dragons Shadow, or just abuse the every living fuck out of arc battery and now void battery, practically making themselves invincible every 11 seconds. And these are just some exotics that buff the dodge. Forget Stompees or other more niche exotics that are also utilized.

After all this it is obvious to see why most of the community mains a hunter and why you will only see hunters in high end comp on console. They simply have too much of a bloated kit AND make up a larger portion of the playerbase so on forums they have the ability to downvote anyone that may raise concerns about their class or another into oblivion so that they can never be heard. Don't believe me? Check r/destiny2 and see the anti titan circle jerk that runs 24/7 there.

    Edit:

For those that may be not understanding, the bulk isn't my words. While I don't agree with everything said, I do on some of the main points concerning Hunters.

Thanks for the Gild and Silver kind strangers!

Didn't expect my post to gain this much traction but, I'm glad it did. Whether you agree or disagree with mine or Tyberius' views, I'm glad for the most part people will engage in a constructive and thought out debate instead of instantly going on the defense. I'll try to get to as many replies as I can.

There is still no way to consistently farm Refurbished Black Armory Weapons at all.

    Posted: 22 Dec 2019 09:29 AM PST

In Destiny 2, there's exactly ONE Suros Rapid Fire sidearm you can get with random rolls. It is the Dead Man Walking XX7463, and it's one of the refurbished weapons you have a LOW, LOW chance of getting when doing a forge.

I am about to complete Master Smith at 94 frames built, and I have never ever gotten a SINGLE refurbished weapon with a roll I want, much less THIS one! That's really sad, because these weapons actually have good rolls, and they look good!

But they have such a low drop chance, and there's no way to target a specific weapon you want. You cannot farm any of these weapons consistently, and this has lead a lot of people to completely forget that they exist.

It'd be super appreciated if Bungie made it possible to actually reasonably go after this set of weapons, because they're actually pretty cool, but SO rare that most people haven't even seen all of them.

Please make repeatable bounties for them or greatly, greatly increase the drop rates! Thank you.

Thank you, Bungie. I needed Saint-14 to believe in me.

    Posted: 22 Dec 2019 09:59 AM PST

Having a character like Saint-14, who is so wholesome and purely good, believe in me the way he does, is an absolute emotional game changer for me.

I've fought depression in the past, and overcome it for now. I've been diagnosed with a personality disorder, and a few other fun neuroatypical issues. My brain, as I'm sure many others can relate to, is a difficult organ to deal with sometimes.

So I just wanted to say that it hits me extremely hard, in all the right ways, to have a character in my favorite game believe in me like Saint does. I aspire to be the kind of person Saint represents, and to have that role model turn around and look up to me is just... inspiring, I guess.

So thanks, Bungie. I needed Saint-14.

Edit: Wow guys thank you so much! For the responses, for the gold... you guys are the best.

Bungie, please please PLEASE let me trade my Baryon Boughs into Petra for Dreaming City gear.

    Posted: 22 Dec 2019 03:55 PM PST

I can't fathom why this isn't a thing, especially post-Shadowkeep. Dreaming City gear isn't difficult to obtain, so letting us get it from Petra shouldn't be a big deal. It would alleviate many player's vault spaces. Having it be something that is only occasionally used at Spider or occasionally for upgrade modules makes getting rid of the thousands I have infuriatingly difficult.

We can only have 25 upgrade modules, so unless we're upgrading everything it doesn't take us very far. We can purchase queensfoil, but can only hold 5. So unless we're constantly using them and running back to DC to buy more, there's not a good way to get rid of them. I could delete them all, but that would be making all of the time I spent gathering them for quests or as rewards for other things I did in DC feel a bit worthless. Not to mention the text for the item says to take them to Petra to discover their value and we don't get to discover their value.

Hell, even trading them for raid banners would be good.

Seasonal Mods Having Elemental Affinity Requirements Is A Bit Excessive, For Two Reasons

    Posted: 22 Dec 2019 04:12 PM PST

Elemental Season Mod Effects Contradict Weapon Variety

The most blatant flaw with seasonal mods having element affinity requirements is that they're self contradictory in many situations. Take Heavy Handed or Quick Charge, arc mods with a secondary effect when additional arc mods are slotted in the same piece of armor. In particular, they provide benefits to certain weapons, namely Shotguns, Fusion Rifles, SMGs, Sidearms, and Swords.

Which is great, except only Shotguns and Swords have arc weapon mods, so only those two weapons can reap the benefits of having extra arc mods equipped. It seems to me like Bungie split all primary/special/heavy weapon types over the 3 affinities in the base pool to make each element desirable for different weapons, and are now making mods that target all primary/special/heavy weapons but which are tied to a specific element. It feels incredibly arbitrary, and exacerbates the other glaring issue many people have with seasonal mod slots...

Elemental Season Mods Restrict Gear Options (Even Further)

Trying to get well rolled gear every season has become a pipe dream, even for hardcore players. The layers of RNG are just stacking too high at this point, it's become increasingly unreasonable to actually try and get a decent set of armor for a number of reasons, and the extra seasonal mod restrictions aren't helping that problem.

First off, and please correct me if I'm wrong, only IB will act as a source for high rolled (60+) Season of Dawn armor this go round. Undying at least has GoS for weekly attempts, but Dawn has no raid, and no other activities were elevated to raid status, so we only have IB. Which coincidentally means high rolled Dawn armor is doubly time limited, because after the season ends there will be NO sources of high rolling Dawn armor. Combine that with the other rng factors: getting a high roll piece of legendary armor in the correct slot, and getting a good stat split. At least before when you got a well rolled piece of gear with the wrong element, you could just choose to forgo the weapon mods. Now, not only does the wrong element mean forgoing the seasonal mods, making any gear without the right element completely unusable for certain builds, but getting the right element might still mean giving up your weapon mods!

TL;DR - I'm personally a big fan of Armor 2.0 in general and I think seasonal mods are great, both making new gear desirable and promoting build diversity without directly powercreeping older gear. That said, the finer details of the system, and the way that drop rng is implemented, could use some tweaks.

Either make drops rare with a high probability of being good, or make them plentiful and usually bad, but each piece has the potential to be good.

Right now there's no way to get gear with high potential, and the chance for that gear to roll well is 1/1000000 anyway, which just makes the entire exercise feel pointless. Extra mod requirements being slapped on top of that is just discouraging, when seasonal mods are, I believe, intended to be exciting.

Why is truth ok in Gambit but sleeper is too strong.

    Posted: 22 Dec 2019 07:05 AM PST

Now I was playing Gambit during the dark times or should I say the bright red times of its life cycle when you couldn't take two steps when invaded or invading without dying instantly. I'm not saying that should return but I feel like truth has taken it's place ever since truth returned any time in Gambit you get invaded you can believe that a truth rocket will be flying at you shortly and it makes it to trivial to get team wipes or close to it there is no counter play besides another truth which I feel is unhealthy for Gambit very much similar to the way sleeper stimulant did. Now I'm not saying the damage should be nerfed I think no weapon should really. I think however though they need to decrease how many rockets you can hold in reserve and how many truth rockets they get from a brick as with scavenger mods and extra reserve mods this allows for a ridiculous amount of rockets.

Edit: I didn't expect so much feedback it makes me happy to see so many opinions on this.

Arc Web bugged since season 9, video evidence provided

    Posted: 22 Dec 2019 09:25 AM PST

Since the beginning of season 9, Arc Web is not working properly where it produces either inconsistent or very little to no lightning chains between enemies which by consequence also affects grenade energy return (as stated by Arc Web's description: Enemies damaged by your grenades chain deadly lightning to nearby enemies. Each grenade or melee chain returns grenade energy)

As a reference, here's Bungie's own video demonstrating arc web:

    https://twitter.com/destinythegame/status/1114211735680868352?lang=en

I went ahead and tested for myself the current situation surrounding arc web as similar as possible to Bungie's demo video: 1st wave of Escalation Protocol in Mars in a solo instance (or as solo as I could get, so that it could be purely me doing the test):

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dLy6a9F_YQA&t=1s

I tested all three warlock grenades (arcbolt, pulse, storm) under similar instances as I could, which resulted in 4 attempts for arcbolt and 2 attempts for pulse and storm given the opportunities I had (other players, public events, behavior of enemies, personal compromises, etc.).

Several players in this subreddit have also reported the same bug in different posts:

    Link 1:

    https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/ecte34/did\_all\_the\_arc\_classes\_change\_with\_the\_solar/

    Link 3:

The last of them also providing their own evidence:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QQfCPUwZ1X8&feature=youtu.be

I'd appreciate if y'all could help this get noticed by Bungie to get their feedback given that I've not seen any word on this from their end. Thank you.

Flawless coordination in a no-mic LFG group is so tasty.

    Posted: 22 Dec 2019 12:15 PM PST

I've been farming the 950 nightfall with no-mic LFG groups. You know that part where the elevator stops on the second floor and the unstoppable Ogre spawns in to bum rush you? Man does it feel like a fresh hot shower when he just instantly vaporizes under an unstoppable burst, a divy stream, and an izy shot, 1-2-3 in precise order in under a second without anybody having to say a word. That is all.

If you are a warlock, and still need to get the Whisper of the Worm solo, now is the time.

I had a lot of trouble with the whisper quest solo before now. I would lose too much time to small jump puzzle mistakes that are fatal for warlocks, which left little room for error in the add rooms.

Double Icarus dash changes the whole game. Risky corner jumps and perfect landings are now trivial. The diamond hallway used to ruin runs easily due to warlock jump, now it can be done with 2 dashes.

And my loadout? Wish Ender. That's it. An occasional machine gun burst for little adds but everything else is erased in a couple shots. Melted all three bosses with just wish ender. You could easily see where they are and when they pop back out from cover.

    Did it first try.

Bungie, thanks for rehabbing Osiris. Can you remove Vance or do the same to him?

Saint 14 doesn’t know what taken are... right?

Saint was gone long before the taken wars so he must not know about them

Heat rises not working on console vs PC. Console's Heat rises causes you to descend making it it difficult to maintain.

I've seen people mention it on YT but didn't see a thread about it on the first few pages here.

On console heat rises does slow your descent slightly, but its still a pain for something you need to sacrifice your grenade for. Meanwhile it seems to work correctly on PC. I imagine that the intended purpose was for you to stay in the air with heat rises active.

I feel great Bungie, I've got a powerful bow, I can go full support or pyromancer with Dawnblade and I love the way I look.

Its been a few years, but i'm really happy with what I have right now. I, like many others will never be satisfied of course which is ok. (HotPF, Attunment of flame rw, exotic IB knightly primary sword, etc)

However heres some things I'm happy for:

-I can use a powerful (albeit only because its currently bugged) long bow like i've always wanted

-You gave me the Handcannon of Eriana-3, who I really like.

-A sword with tireless blade is handy

-You made a support Sunlock tree which gives me access to a Ring of healing like i've wanted in D1. Heal nades, heal gun, happy times.

-Sunbracers are my favorite exotic in D2, they make me feel like a sunsinger

-The new Celestial fire ability has just the right amount of firepower to it that I wanted, it's very reliable.

-While unfortunately locked behind eververse, I still really love the dawnblade finisher and dawnblade emote

-A season dedicated to our hero Saint! complete with headbutt finisher that can be unlocked though normal means.

-Finishers! They fill that magic fantasy that I long for and the randomizer is great.

-Ornaments for armor that change the icon tab. This makes a huge difference.

    -Baking cookies is comfy AF

This isn't to say that there isn't things that need work, there always is. I just wanted to make a post about the good things I enjoy right now.
