Please Remove Seasonal Triumphs that are no longer obtainable at the end of every season

    Posted: 19 Feb 2020 11:47 AM PST

This is mostly just a petty change that would be nice. I hit +19 on my artifact last season and now I'm stuck with the triumph to hit +20 in my featured triumphs until something changes. Its not really that big of an issue, but its basically just sitting there making fun of me and i'm sure plenty of other people have the same problem. I'm probably not going to hit +20 in season 9 (Im at +16) and I doubt Ill get it next season either so my featured triumph list will consist of triumphs that are no longer obtainable. Obviously theres more important stuff to worry about then a triumph but it would bring joy to my heart.

Edit: I have been told that completed Lore of Luna removes those triumphs from the featured list.

Edit2: can confirm completing The lore of Luna triumph removes the Seasonal Power Bonus triumphs from the featured list

I'd be 10000% cool if Bungie stopped introducing exotic weapons/armor and instead focus on bringing sub par ones up from garbage, and also focused on fleshing out exotic weapon catalysts and introducing armor catalysts

    Posted: 19 Feb 2020 11:59 AM PST

We have so many good and potentially good exotics, that it seems a waste to let the bad stuff stay bad and bury them with more. So many weapons lack catalysts (or some have really bad catalysts...especially looking at you MIDA). Armor doesn't even have catalysts but that is another area spice things up without further bloating our exotic library.

    I fucking did it!!!

I can't believe it, this was the hardest thing I've ever done in this game by far and I got biggest adrenaline rush EVER when I finally beat the boss.

Thank you Bungie for the shattered throne, now I'm gonna cry in a corner!

(Btw, I got a curated twilight oath. Sorry fallout)

Bungie, there were Key Moments in Previous Campaigns (Discovering the Dreaming City and that first mission there for example) that were lost in the New Light Update. If you are doing a revamp of New Light Progress for new players like Devs have hinted it, make sure to recapture those magic moments.

    Posted: 19 Feb 2020 02:00 AM PST

I'm not quite sure how you can do that while also keeping new player accessability in mind, but it's worth noting.

    Mostly inaccurate Season 10 preview

    Posted: 19 Feb 2020 04:25 AM PST

Edit: Thanks for the silver/golds kind Guardians! Glad you enjoyed it :)

Guardians this is all just tongue in cheek, don't be mad! In about 20 days, I'm predicting Season of Redemption!

    Synopsis

Osiris is pissed off with Rasputin, which doesn't need any backstory or reasoning because it lets Bungie reuse Warmind assets/themes just like they reused Curse of Osiris assets/themes and recycling is good for the planet!

But, we'll work to redeem Rasputin and bring him over to our side for the greater good. This will be a new story thread that doesn't really close any plot lines but opens another one that will likely drift off into obscurity 3 months later.

Did you say new horde mode?

Yes I did. You all wanted matchmade Escalation Protocol, well we got some 6 player matchmade EP situated inside the Warmind where you defend Rasputin from the frozen Hive. Eyes up Guardian!

    New Loots, when?

    • Hot off a reprisal of yr1 weapons, we got another batch of hand picked yr1 weapons with random rolls.

    • Escalation Protocol weapon reprisal from new game mode!

    • Braytech themed weapons + armor coming in hot, with slight visual reworks

    • Seasonal track ornament most likely a fancied up version of EP armor

    • 3 new ritual (not pinnacle) weapons that are not suited to the game mode they're earned from. Including a Rocket Launcher from Crucible because feedback from IB quest steps were really positive.

    Exotics?

NP Fam, we got 3 new exotic armors, 1 for each class. Don't worry they'll be bad again so nothing to concern yourself with for now.

For weapons, we've got a seasonal track exotic Sword - because swords got reworked and we want you to use one!

We also got an exotic Grenade Launcher as the seasonal quest exotic, this will be our 2nd wave frame GL but this time its Arc - behold the next Titan grenade themed GL that shoots Pulse grenades!!!

    Its artifact time

Rapsutin's <insert thingy name> will be Arc and Solar themed - because this is the next combo in the rotation.

Introducing hot new talents like Solar Battery! (hunter's just swap to solar, everyone else move along)

We'll also be restricting your primary ammo guns to 3 specific guns for the next 3 months, likely to include Sidearms, Hand cannons and SMGs - because I'm calling it now.

Who's our main NPC this season?

Most likely Osiris because they had his VA in the studio recently and probably had him record the next 45 seasons dialogue. Unlikely it could be Ana Bray, for a change of pace and so Osiris can just stir the shit then hand over to another NPC like he did in Season of Dawn (<3 Saint tho)

    Trials?

    Apparently.

Ok, so what is everyone else in the Tower doing?

    • Zavala will complain all season that we're fucking about with Rasputin, just get your shit ritual weapon from him and move on

    • Ikora will continue doing nothing, after her hectic season of Undying appearance. She'll return once reddit kicks off about her in the future

    • Drifter is still in his mom's basement playing heads or tails, no further info

    • Ada-1 is still talking to herself downstairs and laughing at the jebait of her weapon frame system

    • Saint has become the new Ikora, he plans to sit in the hangar petting birds and never do anything again

    • That dude who killed Cayde is still out there somewhere looking for a plot line

    • Eris is still out on the moon talking to ghosts and eaves-dropping Zavala's calls

    • Shaxx is still shouting

    • Saladman still comes out of his cave once a month to sell old weapons and a reprised armor set

    • Banshee is still an amnesiac

    • That Eververse chick will be selling a new host of vanity items that are better than anything you can earn from gameplay

    • The mailbox robot will continue to hold all your past seasonal currencies

    • Hawthorne is still impressed we took out Ghaul, we're still not quitting either

Thanks for your time Guardians, I've spent too long in the infinite forest...

I ended up reworking my Vex posts, and this is what I came up with.

    Posted: 19 Feb 2020 09:58 AM PST

I wasn't too happy with the symmetry of them, and how they were messily put together.

So, I ended up combining them here and having seperate versions here. I'm happier with these, and think I'll work on Minotaurs and Hydras next to complete the Vex group. Possibly a Cyclops page but... unsure yet.

Hope you enjoy these, and find this version much nicer than my last!

The Empyrean Foundation grind has emphasised just how useful sliders on material purchases would be

    Posted: 19 Feb 2020 02:10 AM PST

In farming fractaline, I bought 25k simulation seeds, which is 5,000 presses of a button, which was used 480 at a time to buy 240k glimmer, resulting in another 1,248 presses of a button to buy 52 lots of 12 light fused fractaline, which is another 624 presses of a button, which then all needed to be put into the obelisks, which was another 624 presses, leaving me with an overall resonance of 68,700, which was another 687 presses of a button to donate. All this totals 8,183 presses. I didn't farm any weapons on this occasion, but if I had, we'd be looking at an extra 562 presses, leaving us at 8,745.

This is insane, and ridiculously time consuming. If there was at least an option for a slider on buying spider materials, or being able to donate all the fractaline, this would lower this time considerably. I know that this will all be inconsequential in a couple of weeks, but it would be a really good quality of life improvement for the game overall.

Here's how much time we will have wasted simply donating fractaline by the end of this.

    Posted: 19 Feb 2020 07:37 AM PST

Since Bungie just announced the final stage count is 9,777,777,000 I thought I'd do a little maths.

    9,777,777,000/100 = 977,777,770 total donations

    97,77,770 x 3s = 293,333,310s

    293,333,310s/60 = 4,888,888.5 minutes

    4,888,888.5min/60 = 81,481.48 hours

    3,395 days

    9.3 years

    Thanks Bungie!

This doesn't include load times, or getting frames, or buying glimmer from the spider.

    Please rework Trinity Ghoul

    Posted: 19 Feb 2020 02:54 PM PST

Its a bow that cannot hipfire reliable due to spread, has worse ADS potential than other bows due to 3 arrows, does low damage, slow pull and requires a headshot kill to then activate its exotic perk on the NEXT shot.

The bow should do more damage per arrow to make the spread useful (prevent 3 hits to the same target?) or it should link lightning between the split arrows so if you hit multiple targets it does more damage, on top of its chain lightning after kill.

Edit: Or a special version of archers tempo that makes the draw time faster the more targets you hit with one shot?

We need spider(or An Agent of Spider) in the tower.

    Posted: 19 Feb 2020 07:19 PM PST

This event has been the icing on the cake for this outright need. If load times are gonna a stay kinda awful then we need to do less traveling to satiate our materials collecting needs.

Being able to buy resources in the tower would be a GIGANTIC QOL improvement everybody would appreciate.

Eververse Pricing is all over the place

    Posted: 19 Feb 2020 03:39 AM PST

Some emotes cost 2400 bright dust, but 400 silver. Other emotes cost 1200 bright dust, but 700 silver.

Also what the hell Bungie. You want me to pay the same amount of money for 2-3 emotes as an entire season? I thought these things would be adjusted after the move to Steam, but they are still wildly random.

EDIT: Quick note. I'm mostly asking for prices to be more streamlined. E.g every exotic emote has the same price, every armor ornament has the same price etc.

Instead of Exotic Armor Catalysts, Make Exotic Armor Mods

    Posted: 19 Feb 2020 01:01 PM PST

Exotic Armors are lacking in their upgrade ability. Exotic weapons can be master worked with a catalyst to give them additional stats, perks, and orb generation. But Exotic Armor Masterworking does not do anything. While I think Exotic Armor should have a Universal Seasonal slot this still would not give the same upgraded feeling most Exotic Weapons get. Plus how would you upgrade them.

The solution: add Exotic Armor Mods and an Exotic Armor slot that opens up when an Exotic is materworked. These mods would be completely neutral in class and would offer some form of universal bonus. They would only be able to be applied to Exotic Armor.

Think back to the Rise of Iron Artifacts for perk ideas. They would be excellent chase rewards from endgame activities or even Vendor quests.

Pro Tip: Don't leave the Ordeal (Insight Terminus) Nightfall early until the dialog is done so you actually get loot

    Posted: 19 Feb 2020 01:34 PM PST

I don't think it goes to post-master. I keep seeing people orbit themselves early. Insight Terminus works differently. Wait until you actually get your Shards/Exotics/Prisms.

I am starting to suspect more and more that rasputin DID in fact cripple the traveler so it couldn't betray us as it betrayed the fallen.

    Posted: 19 Feb 2020 02:15 PM PST

This was hinted at in the D1 lore, but we all know how bungie redacted some of that lore, and has slowly been bringing back bits slowly, because bungie plays a bit fast and loose with lore....

He has a protocol written for almost every scenario, one being the traveling abandoning/betraying us, and shooting it down so it couldn't leave. In D1 and D2 the traveler had a lot of damage on its ( underside I believe?). So this makes sense. It explains why there are scattered chunks of the traveler in places too. ( one piece the hive had in D1, one piece gave us our light back in the red war, One piece uldren shot up and nabbed from forsaken, and there are a few scattered pieces around the EDZ )

The cutscene with osiris, him calling iutbrasputin ( thug/betrayer/etc.) Strengthens this belief.

In all honesty, that was the best move he could make before activating protocol midnight and hiding. It ensured the traveler was forced to help us protect ourselves and be protected by us, rather than us end up like the fallen. It puts the traveler IN ITS PLACE, teaching it a lesson. And it ensures the survival of humans while rasputin hides from the darkness.

    RasputinDidNothingWrong

But that's just a mix of facts and opinions. We don't know what new lore is inbound.

TL;DR Old Man mad monk loves us, and wants us to have new shiny loot. MOAR LOOT, GIMME.

Hot Take: A battle pass has no place in an MMO loot based game

    Posted: 19 Feb 2020 05:08 PM PST

Just something that came to mind when I was playing bounty simulator the game. I'd much rather earn the loot in the battle pass from quests and activity drops rather than complete 7 billion bounties each season.

I'd still pay the $10 to buy into the season, but the battle pass just takes a lot away from the activities and quests they put in each season that are mostly dry of loot. Much rather play all the aspects of the game instead of farming bounties over and over again.
