You're all wrong about the worst part of this season. I've deduced the truth.

    Posted: 12 Apr 2020 04:06 PM PDT

The true worst part of the season is the following scenario:

    Be me

Defending a Sephiroth tower to satiate the game's endless lust for bounties, as one does, mowing down hundreds of enemies with no issue

One minor enemy literally teleports onto the plate at the precise moment it checks because the enemy doesn't need to "capture" the plate or anything, just standing on it for 1ms is enough.

Ana: HOLY PUG IN A PIZZA BOX GUARDIAN, THAT'S A LOT OF ENEMIES. CUTTING POWER TO THAT SUPPORT TOWER

Bungie, you'll have a reward problem for as long as you keep pretending cosmetics aren't loot.

    Posted: 12 Apr 2020 05:10 AM PDT

Guns with random perks and static roll & armor with the same stats & a seasonal mod slot aren't rewarding enough on their own for peoples to consider running new content more than a few times.
A purple word under your name is definitely not an end game reward that peoples are supposed to be all aiming for.

Slightly higher chances for exotics & MW mats aren't either.

Cosmetics however, are very much what you need to fill the "reward holes" there are all over the game.

Want to give trials sweats incentives to go past 3 matches, but don't want to give them overpowered or mechanically unique content? give them armor & weapon ornaments

Want to give peoples a worthwhile reward for grandmaster without just increasing some drop rates ? vanguard themed legendary & exotic armor ornaments

Want peoples to give a shit about new titles at all past clicking on them to unlock them once they reach the requirements for them, mostly by accident? Ghosts, Sparrows, Ships, Ornaments for seasonal guns, whatever, maybe a new cosmetic type like familiars if you'd like, but anything more than a purple word.

Hell, maybe peoples wouldn't be as annoyed with new exotic quest guns being average or sub par if you'd let them go the extra mile to earn an ornament for them.

But if you keep treating cosmetics as something that goes in a shopping window that's completely disconnected from the game, you'll just keep having issues. forever.

edit : Please don't give me silver. You're ruining my point.

Grandmaster Nightfalls should grant "Adept" versions of weapons with intrinsic Anti-Champion properties.

    Posted: 12 Apr 2020 11:04 AM PDT

Currently, all we're getting reward-wise with the upcoming Grandmaster Nightfalls is a new Title and higher chances (not even guaranteed drops) of getting upgrade materials and Exotics. That's not nearly enough for what's supposed to be one of the hardest activities in the game.

So why not give Grandmaster Nightfalls unique versions of existing loot to chase, like Trials of Osiris' Adept weapons back in D1? Weapons earned from Grandmaster Nightfalls could have improved stats and a random, intrinsic Anti-Champion effect. For example: after beating a Grandmaster Nightfall, I could receive a Sniper Rifle with increased Handling, Reload Speed, and intrinsic Anti-Barrier rounds. This could even be dome with Exotic weapons, too, if Bungie is willing.

I feel like a similar system should be implemented with Armor rewarded from the activity, but I'm not quite sure how it would work out besides higher stats. What do you think Grandmaster Nightfalls should reward?

Builds Don't Mean Much When the Modifiers Dictate How You Must Play

    Posted: 12 Apr 2020 09:19 AM PDT

Being forced to use specific gear/weapons kills diversity and makes "builds" pretty pointless

I see they have taken on board the comments that grinding to get close to 1060 isn't good and have changed it to 1025 to enter, with Guardian power capped at 1025 and enemies at 1050. This is a step in the right direction and makes the whole thing a lot more standardised

However, in the TWAB, Bungie says:

"Once you reach a certain bar, the challenge should be found completely in perfecting your builds"

But this is dictated by the modifiers not the player, you don't get to build your character to your playstyle or to the gear you prefer, you MUST build to the modifiers, you can't run most exotics and you're locked to specific weapons due to anti champion mods only working on certain ones - being forced to use sidearms up close against Grandmaster enemy 25 levels above you.... that's not great. Add on things like Match Game etc and you quickly become limited to what gear you can run, that isn't building your gear.

Endgame building should be about classes, medic, tech, dps, support etc. It shouldn't be "everyone run sumgglers word for the champions, Erianas and a 21% for the arc" - ya know?

Spending 20+ hours in Borderlands 3 has only reinforced my belief that the "feel" of Destiny is second to none.

    Posted: 12 Apr 2020 03:14 PM PDT

Recently picked up Borderlands 3 on Steam and I've been playing through it with a couple buddies, and it honestly makes me realize how no shooter seems to be able to come anywhere near Destiny in terms of the gunplay, shooting mechanics, and the overall feel of the game and your abilities.

In BL3 I can take out some big badass guy and get showered with all kinds of top quality loot, but none of it feels half as good as even common weapons in Destiny.

I don't mean to shit on BL3 with this post, either. The game is definitely fun and I can recommend it if you've got a couple friends to jam it with. But you will miss the "feel" of Destiny.

It feels like Champions have already sunsetted most exotic weapons

    Posted: 12 Apr 2020 01:59 AM PDT

The idea with sunsetting weapons is that older weapons can still be used in casual play but not in end game content. That's how I feel about every exotic since before Shadowkeep, because Shadowkeep exotics have Antichampion properties.

I haven't liked the move. It puts some of my favorite weapons out of reach during Y3 activities. Which weapons are in your not quite useful any more bucket due to Champions?

Won't sun-setting weapons give us even less incentive to run previous content?

    Posted: 12 Apr 2020 11:40 AM PDT

Aside from the issue with pinnacles not being placed in old content on a rotating basis, people still run it in hopes of getting weapons like Anarchy, 1K, curated twilight oath, etc.

What happens when these weapons are removed? Is Bungie going to replace with updated weapons? I doubt it.

What am I missing here? If they get rid of previous content, and we are stuck with only new content, which is terrible, then who will play the game? Imagine your only loot to grind for being Seraph.

    Edit: Thanks for the awards!

Who in the sane mind though that putting threat detector in sniper rifles perk pool is a good idea

    Posted: 12 Apr 2020 02:55 PM PDT

Snipers that roll with this are in 90% instantly dismantled. Just why have you decided that it's a good idea?

You should know that when you see a "Blessing of the Sky" buff on your screen it means you have a 30% damage buff.

First ever D1 raid. Am happy

Anthem died because of in-game errors and lack of loot incentive

    Posted: 12 Apr 2020 08:35 PM PDT

Any new IP, regardless of how large the publisher, cannot survive if their game is unplayable or there's no reason to play their game. Anthem is the closest and most recent example.

Destiny has the luxury of being an established brand with numerous successes to fall back, and it likely won't ever die. That being said, I hope Bungie still takes pride in their work and from the recognition of being a top publisher. This season has simply not proven that to me.

We pay $10 for a season. Amazingly I feel like I get more value out of grabbing coffee a few times a week rather than giving Bungie this minuscule amount of money. At the end of the day, the amount itself doesn't really matter to me. It is the feeling of value. It is the principle of paying for something and getting back what you feel is somewhat worth what you paid.

The two drawing points for this season: trials and GF Nightfalls. No Flawless rewards, no GF exclusive rewards. Trials is riddled with connection errors and cheaters on PC. Removal of even 3 watered-down ritual weapons. 1 weapon in Iron Banner that was held from last season. No vendor refresh in over a year. Ornaments all locked behind EV.

If I can't even play one of the biggest drawing points to this season, and there is otherwise little to no incentive to play the other parts of the game, what AM I really paying for? I don't care that it's $10, I care about the fact that you're taking my money without giving me any semblance of value. I'm not even asking for new strikes, maps, raids or any of the core gameplay vehicles. I just want a damn reason to play even the same old shit.

Any new game would have died by this point and it's so disappointing to see Bungie having their name dragged around the same pile of mud, all because they can get away with treating their consumers like this.

At this point the game is an experience-shooter. Not a looter-shooter

    Posted: 12 Apr 2020 04:45 AM PDT

We're being told that Bungie are making things for an experience, you had to be there to see it and they want these activities to be memorable. Trials and the Grandmaster nightfall being introduced with either bare bone recycled rewards or the same rewards of exotics and materials we've already had for years but more of them. With ways to grind that isn't going to the lighthouse because it's unrewarding compared to grinding the first three matches and getting a new card.

With minimal effort put into these two new activities (and the rest of Season of the Worthy) on a rewards basis. It makes me start to wonder if this game is actually a looter-shooter. The removal of pinnacle or ritual weapons. Missing a third of the D1Y1 Trials loot. The lack of new loot for Grandmaster. The lack of new loot for the other nightfall. The lack of updated nightfall loot, looking at you DFA and other D2Y1 nightfall specific loot. Recycled Iron Banner weapons and armour, yes to bring the armours to Armour 2.0 but still recycled. No new Crucible, Gambit, Gambit Prime or Vanguard gear or weapons only recycled content.

The new focus from Bungie seems to be making a game based around experience. Not a game based around loot. But they're missing the fact that the chase for loot is what created so many memories.

Any PS4 Players getting Watercress error?

    Posted: 12 Apr 2020 05:45 PM PDT

After logging on today, I received my first watercress error on PS4, and still haven't been able to log on. I know this has been an issue on Xbox for a while, but are any PS4 users starting to experience this error lately?

Edit: most likely a psn issue

Why no new old Iron Banner weapons?

    Posted: 12 Apr 2020 09:04 AM PDT

Hey Bungie. You are returning old Iron Banner armour from year 1. So why have you slept on returning old Year 1 weapons. Time Worn Spjre. Orimunds Anvil. Dark Decider. Forward Path. Guided Sight. Multimach CCX. Steady Hand.

Rather than the same old Iron Banner weapons we've been getting for the last 18 months. Cycle a few in with each armour set. Go on. Just for a little variety.

Something weird is happening when I log in.

    Posted: 12 Apr 2020 06:25 PM PDT

I'm having an issue logging in to destiny, it goes like this.

    • open app and log in

    • select character

    • get stuck in a black screen (when pressing certain buttons I can hear myself opening up director and inventory)

    • after about five minutes get sent to title screen with either error code watercress or loss of connection to servers

Could somebody help me with this please? Thanks.

Artifact resetting should be free so that we can freely experiment with the sandbox

    Posted: 12 Apr 2020 09:13 PM PDT

Unlike most people on this sub right now, I don't hate this season. I'm loving creating new warmind cell builds along with the artifact mods and really enjoying it but one thing that annoys me and is limiting some of that enjoyment is the ever increasing glimmer for resetting the artifact. Not entirely sure what Bungie's goal was here. I would have thought that in this climate where there isn't that much content, having players endlessly experiment with the sandbox would be a good thing. Why punish players for wanting this?

Bungie, can you please let us reset our artifacts without doubling glimmer, so that we can just have fun with this sandbox?

Bounties have made me not care about winning anymore

    Posted: 12 Apr 2020 10:36 AM PDT

I realized this week that in strikes/crucible/gambit I simply don't care about performance anymore.

If I'm running a strike, I don't care how fast/well the "mission" is accomplished, I'm just fighting my fireteam for grenade kills.

There's no desire to win in the crucible if my only goal is to get shotgun kills.

By my third gambit match, I still complete the weekly point bounty after three losses and get the rotator gear. I just want the match to be over, there's no incentive to win anymore.

The only emphasis on performance in the game now is in competitive, which makes some sense. But as a casual player it'd like to have some reward for victory.

Make a Strike Week (or two) each season that gives 2x/3x loot on all strikes.

    Posted: 12 Apr 2020 05:31 AM PDT

Strikes are a great, matchmade activity that many PvE players still enjoy. Crucible and Gambit get 2x/3x weeks. Let's give Zavala a reason to be popular too.

The fall expansion needs of be held to a higher standard or else we’ll just get a Shadowkeep situation where the season pass becomes acceptable because it has a DLC drop packaged with it

    Posted: 12 Apr 2020 12:49 AM PDT

I want to call this out now

Shadowkeep was short and not very deep. Story, Dungeon, Raid and plenty to do overall but it was a DLC so all of this is expected

Undying was FOMO induced stress to complete our first seasonal title and the overall activity with it and it's reward were not good enough.

This caused an issue where people accepted its mediocrity because you could fall back on Shadowkeep. Every season after has been kept up by Shadowkeeps content and Worthy now is the first where we're done with the majority of it and Worthy adds no substantial loop to the already inch deep and mile wide content selection we have

The whole process of seasons and the content from them has to be good enough for the entire game, not a DLC that's meant to last a year with rotating content coming and going until the next year

Some of the problems could actually be addressed by not just creating new activities but refreshing base game content

With all that, it's concerning that people are saying it's ok this season sucks because obviously September will be great again which I disagree with on the basis that it means we're just getting our pockets turned outside out with the promise it will all be ok in the future which we have 0 confirmation of anyway

Black Screen after logging in and selecting character?

    Posted: 12 Apr 2020 07:05 PM PDT

When I select character I get a black screen and nothing. I can hear the menus open and music playing but nothing. After awhile the screen turned white and I got the "Permissions to multiplayer may have changed or profile signed in elsewhere" error.

I've restarted my ps4, restarted connection, signed in and out. Made sure I had an active psn membership. Just about everything and nothing.

I've seen other people having somewhat of the same issues but none are resolved and there isn't any fix I've seen.

UPDATE: It was PSN and server issues. Checked status and said some players were to expect difficultly using social platforms and games. Waited about 1-2 hours and logged in just fine 👌🏽 back to the infinite void of bounties and dry content I go! 😭😅

Fireteam Medic is a top tier Seasonal Mod.

    Posted: 12 Apr 2020 03:42 PM PDT

I searched and haven't seen anyone really talk about it.

You acquire it from the Io Seraph Tower event's chest, it's a Solar Seasonal mod and requires 3 energy.

The mod - as it says - makes it so when you detonate a Warmind Cell it creates a healing burst for you and your fireteam.

I can't get into hard numbers as I didn't test that hard, but lemme tell you this thing is nuts.

I've been in the red and it has brought me back to full HP @ ~50 Resilience pretty much always, and when it doesn't (as I think it's affected by the Warmind Cell explosion radius so Global Reach helps I think) it's damn near close.

If your entire fireteam is doing Warmind Cells and running this mod it's incredibly difficult to die in content around your PL outside of instant kill stomps or whatever.

It's even better in Gambit where your entire fireteam can basically be full health and not have to run into cover or use many abilities to sustain, especially during the Primeval burns in Prime.

I highly recommend people check it out.

Despite the flaws this season can we agree finally having Rasputin Frames in game is cool

    Posted: 12 Apr 2020 09:21 AM PDT

Seeing the frames in the 'into the mindlab' mission completely wipe out the cabal shows that Rasputin is regaining strength. And as you level up you bunkers more frames and missiles start to appear which does show we are arming Rasputin. Spawning the heavy frames is also a very good addition.

The one complaint I have is if you to rasputin now there are hive literally at his doorstep so they could maybe at the end of the season have the rasputin areas on Mars filled with frames to show he has regained power and is now a force to be reckoned with and would show bungie's plan for an evolving world.
