The price of masterworking needs to be greatly reduced for armor due to sunsetting

    Posted: 13 Jun 2020 11:15 AM PDT

I can live with weapons being sunset honestly, i've basically replaced most of my main weapons this season already with my first handful of drops i enjoy them so much as i do pretty much every season.... but armor? well lets just say i have and traditionally exclusively Iron banner, particularly the opulence set which which took a hot minuet to acquire and masterwork, as well as a fully masterworked set of scourge of the past armor because i love the look that should total together about 100 hours of work for all the grinding required to acquire and masterwork both of them fully. And, in 3 months? they'll be 100% absolutely worthless.

Needless to say, this is kind of a colossal irritation to me, weapons are dirt cheap to masterwork, a week of banshee on 3 characters is easily enough to masterwork 1-2 weapons fully if not more with a little rng, but armor? It has been broken down before that fully masterworking a set of armor is in excess of 500 cores + planetary resources.

So if we're going to continue forward with this system WE HAVE TO MAKE ARMOR MASTERWORKING LESS COSTLY, THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR A SYSTEM IMPLEMENTED WITH THIS LITTLE THOUGHT UNLESS THE PERSON WHO IMPLEMENTED IT DOES NOT EVEN PLAY THEIR OWN GAME AND IS JUST TRYING TO ARTIFICIALLY INFLATE PLAY TIME WITHOUT GIVING US ANYTHING OF SUBSTANCE.

seriously... this is just ridiculous on the level of fixing xp to encourage MXT's it's so laughably stupid

*edit, well thank you for the silver fellow slayer of the Dark!

*edit 2, well dock my arms and call me a dreg Tyvm for the gold!

"Don't AFK the forges!" Continues to save 190 bounties for the new season and play 24 straight hours on release day

    Posted: 13 Jun 2020 06:26 PM PDT

Why are people so upset about this?? As long as you're lowering you power below 700 it's not a big deal. Just shows how busted power leveling is in this game right now. Maybe it will allow Bungie to see the same. Some streamers/content creators are so pissed about this forge stuff right now.

The Eververse store does Ships and Sparrows better than Amanda Holiday for almost 3 years now in D2

    Posted: 13 Jun 2020 08:08 AM PDT

Amanda Holiday has had no use other than replaying the campaign, which checking on stats for the campaign which is about 0.4% of players completing the activity of the campaigns and all Amanda sells is blue and green sparrows which are useless for the fact that purple and exotic sparrows exist with perks. There needs to be a new use for Amanda possibly expanding the use and effectiveness of Sparrows speed, perks, and sturdiness because Amanda Holiday, the literal person who revolves around ships and sparrows is still outclassed by the micro transactions lady.

Edit: Thank you kind stranger for my first silver, gold too!

Bungie. I am absolutely disgusted that you took skill based match making out of the Crucible!

    Posted: 13 Jun 2020 09:58 AM PDT

How do you expect me to cook and eat an entire meal between matches now? This is a horrible change.

The gunsmith, at a minimum, should allow you swap between barrel and scope trees on any weapon. I dont have care if he randomly rolls them, the gunsmith should smith guns.

    Posted: 13 Jun 2020 11:30 AM PDT

Sounds demanding, but its not. Just a suggestion.

Changing out physical parts just sounds like a thing he should do. Perks can stay the same to make searching for "God rolls' a thing.

Honestly, I think every gun should have both trees as all guns have barrels and sight lines.

If this season has shown me one thing, it’s that having an unlimited powerful source available makes grinding the core activities much more satisfying

    Posted: 13 Jun 2020 10:06 AM PDT

I know it's a bug that engrams are dropping higher than intended but not being limited by x number of power upgrades a week makes has made the game feel so fresh and makes me want to keep grinding like the D1 days. I understand that this will be taken away soon but bungie this style of levelling is much better than time-gating powerful drops

Witherhord doesn't have colorblind option, which makes PVP very difficult... Bungie, please add

    Posted: 13 Jun 2020 05:53 AM PDT

Can't tell the difference between friendly and enemy blight pools even with deuteranopia settings. Seems the pools are not affected by colorblind settings (at least for deut on xb1).

In my spare time, I like to take screenshots in Destiny 2 and edit them in Photoshop to look like oil paintings.

    Posted: 13 Jun 2020 12:29 PM PDT

Album is here - currently there are 25 images, i'll be adding more - POSSIBLE SPOILERS WITHIN

I love the art direction in the game. And I like to make these and print them out and hang them up on my walls. I also like them because they are kind of a "snapshot" of different moments in the game. I am not an artist and I'm not claiming to be. Props to people who can draw like this in real life. I'm just a photoshop novice.

    Thanks again for looking!

Please continue making a set of champion mods that go on armor pieces

    Posted: 13 Jun 2020 04:18 PM PDT

This way they work on exotics!

However don't completely scrap the normal first column, as those modes are still useful. Some people don't have armor mod slots to throw around.

edit: the one in question is Unstoppable Pulses, in the fourth column of mods. It goes on your arms slot. Which means that you can make vigilance wing have unstoppable now! yay, a pulse rifle in a mode that can have one person standing. Its not like there's another pulse rifle that's very good for add clear AND boss DPS AND overall usability...

    Oh wait. Outbreak Prime.

The fact that over 60% of all activity completions for the past day have been afk forges is really telling for the state of Destiny's Power Grind.

    Posted: 13 Jun 2020 09:33 PM PDT

    https://twitter.com/Charlemagne_Bot/status/1271850783617585152

I've seen a few big Destiny content creators getting mad and making fun of all the afkers, Gladd even went so far as to call us scumbags. There is a real reason we are doing this.

The power grind hasn't changed for TWO YEARS. Some people have the luxury of being able to play this game as their job, and others have so much free time that they can actually level up all 3 characters to the cap within like a week of a content drop. Then there's the rest of us.

I want to play Destiny. When I see new content, like a brand new dungeon, I get excited. But I am burned out with doing the exact same things I've been doing since forsaken just to get my power level up. I want to play the new stuff and spend my limited time playing the game I love doing the NEW STUFF.

In my opinion, the power grind should be completely taken out of the seasons. There is no reason for it other than to pad the game out. A big power spike every fall with the big expansion? That's absolutely fine! In fact, the power grind is FUN then. You have a full campaign and new content to play, and you're using blues temporarily to keep your level up until you start getting legendaries again. That's fun. But Every 3 months with the seasons? That's WAY too often.

The Seasonal power grind is completely skipping one of the best parts of the power grind, the NEW CONTENT to play while doing so. We have access to infusion and a ton of materials right off the bat with every season, all that's left is to grind the same stuff to get trash legendaries that are 1-3 light levels above what your current slotted item is, rinse and repeat for two weeks until you're ready to tackle the stuff you've been wanting to play the whole time.

Everyone says to lower your light under 700 when going in forges, but I see very few pointing out that you can report people for afk-ing

    Posted: 13 Jun 2020 09:06 PM PDT

Reminder to report anyone afk-ing over 750 light, even a 5 minute ban for a high light afk-er can save the experience for a lot of people actually doing forges.

edit: why am I getting downvoted? I literally said to report people for afk-ing over 750 light, farming afk forges is just fine if you lower your light

Please FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, only afk forge farm UNDER 750 LIGHT

    Posted: 13 Jun 2020 12:33 AM PDT

Trying to do regular forges is incredibly frustrating right now with all of the people above 750 light trying to afk forge farm getting matched with you. If you want to afk forge farm go to rahool and your collections and get yourself under 750, otherwise you're just ruining it for everyone actually trying to complete the forges.

    Sincerely,

A guy just trying to finish blacksmith.

Not sure how this season is ultimately going to shake out, but the interactions between Drifter and Eris have already bolstered it for me

    Posted: 13 Jun 2020 09:45 AM PDT

Pitting different personalities against each other and listening/watching how they react is how you make characters and the world feel alive. Say what you want about the Devil's Ruin quest, the bants between Saint, Osiris, and Shaxx were extremely memorable. It's always a shame when Destiny's characters end up existing in a vacuum or fail to react to some developments in the story, like the whole Felwinter quest and lack or input from Lord Saladin. I'm not sure how much of an expense voice acting is on Bungie's part, but I think these types of interactions should be the standard for how Destiny handles questing or lore exploration. What are some interactions between characters you've enjoyed or think fondly about?

Bungie, Can I Say that The Contact Public Event is an Absolute Blast

    Posted: 13 Jun 2020 07:54 PM PDT

As a big fan of Gambit (45 lifetime infamy rank resets so far), Contact is like another new Gambit mode with the benefits of no chances of getting cross mapped by Truth. Besides, comparing to the last season's seraph tower event, Contact is so so much good. No DEFENDING AND JUST KILLING. Also NO difficult champions.

In regards to the the mechanics of the event, players are already familiar with the most of it from Gambit making it easier to do with Blueberries. Also feels a lot easier than Seraph tower event. Even with 1040 light requirement for the heroic part, I have barely seen people not able to finish it with 1000 light.

The commentary from drifter during the event is as always TOP NOTCH.

The BIGGEST PLUS is the drop rate of UMBRAL ENGRAM from the event. So far I have got an umbral engram drop from every heroic completion. Also it randomly drops during the event as well. So good!!

Gambit and Contact for the win!! More Gambit and Contact in future please.

A case against a power grind of 50 levels each season

    Posted: 13 Jun 2020 07:16 PM PDT

I've been playing destiny for six years and then thing at the point, amongst a bunch of others, that really grinds my gears is the power grind. Bungie routinely inflates the power level and then puts a cool activity behind a power level right at the start of the season - forges come to mind and now the new dungeon.

I have invested long enough that i do not want to spend at least 2-3 weeks (single character) casually grinding stuff out to get to the required level. I don't want to have to spend a million mats to get there. I want to immediately be involved in playing the content bungie created without the bulldust of the power grind and dealing with guns and armor i don't want along the way to ensure that my power is high.

Do you know where bungie got it right? Season of the Dawn. A power grind of 20 to the soft cap with 10 to hard cap was perfect. I could stop looking at power after a while and focus more on rolls and loadout. Isn't this is what destiny is suppose to be about?

My final words is that due to the power grind being so steep, players will look for the cheesiest way to get there. Where are we at for this season? You just need to look up YouTube. The incentive to cheese up the ranks to play the content wouldn't be there if the grind was less harsh like they had in the Season of Dawm.

Make Ward of Dawn last after death, just like Well of Radiance.

    Posted: 13 Jun 2020 10:24 AM PDT

So many times I think to myself "I'm going to die, but I'll give my strike/raid team a bubble... to realise it disappears after death.

I've only noticed the last few run in the new Prophecy Dungeon, where I put my bubble down for safety, but step outside and I'm dead... Leaving no more cover for me team.

Can speed on dropping a Warlock rift PLEASE be increased?

    Posted: 13 Jun 2020 11:12 AM PDT

If I'm getting shot by a bunch of enemies, there is no quick escape option for Warlocks. You can either attempt to jump your squishy Warlock self out of the way, slowly gliding to your death, like a soft-winged fragile little butterfly, floating through a hailstorm of bullets or attempt to drop a healing rift in which 90% of the time, if you're under half health, it's already too late.

Titans can throw up a barricade pretty quickly and hunters can either drop a cloak bomb or use their dodge for an instant escape. Rifts barely offer enough healing strength the way it is. Attempting a semi-difficult activity and coming face to face with an large, husky, one eyed Unstoppable champion results in the same narrative whether you're at full health or not:

Me: "Greetings Unstoppable champion. I am fully healed, standing comfortably in the center of my Healing Rift and under Divine Protection. Now I shall challenge you for the championship!"

    Champion: "It's all Ogre now."

    que respawn timer

So, I'm requesting that us Warlock's might have a slight improvement and at least have the speed increased for our rifts. At least it would help against mobs.

EDIT: Apparently I stand corrected on the Titan barricade, which is also, too slow in it's current state.

There is one piece of content that needs to return from the DCV that I think the entire community can agree on.

    Posted: 13 Jun 2020 05:15 PM PDT

Whether we wanted it or not, we've stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let's get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta'aurc. From what I can gather he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defenses, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold

    Posted: 13 Jun 2020 09:54 AM PDT

Sometimes when i respawn i get stuck in the animation for a short time, i can get shot by ennemies and allies. Does someone have the same problem ?

    Fighting Lion breaking the game?

    Posted: 13 Jun 2020 10:44 AM PDT

Ever since the release of season of the arrival, I have been experiencing many crashes in crucible. I thought it was a hardware problem of my PC at first, but I've also been crashing under the same circumstances on both Stadia and console. So I took to the help forum on B.net and I find this thread: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/256318314

What weapon was he using: FIGHTING LION

I am the founder of r/fightinglion so I don't use any other exotic weapon in the game, so it did't occur to me that the FL could be causing the issue. I asked on the Fighting lion discord and others been having the same problem.

The game crashed in a very similar way my game crashed which you can find here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vnu0F668kMY

A few things I have noticed

    • Grenade launchers are involved in some way (haven't tested more breach loaders besides FL)
    • The crash occurs when an enemy guardian is killed
    • Mostly happens at close range.

If this is true and the fighting lion is causing it, this is the second season in a row in which the fighting lion has been bugged in someway.

TL;DR Fighting lion might be bugged. Its annoying

Bounties **should** be a way for us to maximize efficiency with leveling the season pass, not the ONLY way to level the season pass.

    Posted: 13 Jun 2020 06:24 PM PDT

The biggest chunk of XP should definitely come from activity completion. Not the backwards bounty spam way that Bungie has it set to currently.

In year 4, bounties NEED to be a supplement to activity completion. Not the other way around.

For example. A weekly raid clear (of the newest raid only) should be worth an entire season pass rank.

A message to all blueberries doing the Contact public event

    Posted: 13 Jun 2020 11:12 AM PDT

Actually 5 messages 1. Please focus the champions if there are any

    1. Focus on the champion stealing the Bloom

    2. Deal damage to the boss if it doesn't have a shield ffs

    3. If you see that people are duplicating the Bloom, let them continue doing so. (The event will progress much faster)

    4. If people are duplicating the Bloom and you are not interfering with them, clear enemies and DON'T GRAB THE BLOOM

    Thank you in advance.

A humble solo player trying his best.

EDIT: sorry for assuming everyone knows what duplicating the Bloom means. Let me explain; when you deposit the Bloom, there will be a circle filling up. When the circle is almost full, swap weapons to drop the Bloom while still depositing it. If you don't know what the player is doing, it may look like they are glitching.
