Bungie, since we aren’t getting D3, could we bring back those cool hand drawn flashbacks before the major expansions?

    Posted: 28 Jun 2020 12:13 PM PDT

    https://imgur.com/gallery/DrjJjsu

For those that dont remember, when destiny 2 launched and if you connected your accounts, there was this slideshow that talked about everything cool that you did, the day you did it, and who you did it with. I assumed we would get another in D3, but since that isnt coming around, why not do it before every expansion?

If not for every expansion at least do it for Lightfall, since its suppose to be this big climactic shift.

You could even have ones that include our titles. Such as "[Name] followed the drifter and became a true dredgen on [Date] and have a cool drawing to go with it! Hell, even get some community artists to do the artwork, this is going over our best feats.

    Savathun has already beaten us

Champions should not be in VoG unless we are allowed to put Anti Barrier, Overload, and Unstoppable rounds on every weapon, not just on weapons pertaining to the seasonal artifact.

    Posted: 28 Jun 2020 08:00 AM PDT

I've seen it posted a lot on this subreddit but I just feel the need to shout about it again. I feel like Champions in VoG could work but only if we're allowed to customize our load out the way we as players see fit. If Bungie wants to put champions in VoG then all they would have to do is make it so that all Champion affecting rounds can be placed onto any weapon we see fit. This includes shotguns, fusion rifles, and power weapons. No one wants to be forced to use a sidearm instead of their PvE god roll auto rifle because anti barrier rounds didnt drop for the auto rifles for that season. Treat them like regular mods that we can get from the gunsmith.

Now that D3 isn’t really in the works for the foreseeable future, can we PLEASE go back to the D1 shader economy?

    Posted: 28 Jun 2020 12:31 PM PDT

I'm so tired of a lot of my time in the game going towards clearing out my postmaster with shaders, still no delete-all feature.

I miss the feeling of earning a rare shader that I could use infinitely. It was another piece of the loot pool that made grinding activities in the end game more engaging. Getting Chatterwhite and Glowhoo added to that "I did this hard activity and I can show it off to others" feeling.

I understand that there's a lot more to it to change how that system works, but I really think changing the shader system back would help make loot feel just a little more special again. Please Bungie.

    Edit: spelling

Edit: Adding that I agree that where D2's system improves, is the ability to add to whatever piece of armor you want. But it's the constant clearing out of your inventory and having to spend currency to buy each piece of one time use shaders, that is the biggest problem.

Edit: Thank you for Gold! First time!

The community needs a very detailed TWAB regarding Transmog BEFORE Season 12

    Posted: 28 Jun 2020 05:22 AM PDT

The TWAB on 5/7/20 announced Transmog (which turns armor into ornaments) with the key highlights being:

    1. "allow players to do this with in-game effort OR silver"
    2. "this feature is in early development and is expected sometime during Year 4.

Point 2 tells me that Transmog may not be around until Season 13, which gives Bungie plenty of time to refine a fair system and inform us of the system. However, with sunsetting a number of armor sets will be disappearing soon which leaves us, the community, in the dark about which armor sets we should be holding onto.

Do I keep a set of armor from each planet that's leaving, or will there be a default set from collections in the fall?

Should I be running old raids and EP to save those armor sets or will a vendor sell them?

(As of right now I'm hoarding armor sets just in case, but my vault would love to know if it's safe to dismantle them.)

Point 1 Is the scary part that the community needs clarification on, especially since silver is involved.

    What exactly is "in-game" effort?

    • A quest from drifter requiring numerous steps to get a full set of gambit armor?
    • Kill 50 blockers for one piece and 20 invasion kills for another?
    • Glimmer and shards, planetary materials, or masterworking materials?
    • Bright Dust? ( the least desirable option)

The community needs to know how expensive or time consuming this process is so we can prioritize saving armor sets and we need it sooner rather than later. (Ex: I would rather have SoTP armor over Crown & I prioritize certain classes over others.)

My main concern with this system is that the process through "in-game efforts" will not be worthwhile effectively pushing players to spend silver on their favorite armor sets and trashing the rest.

Tl;DR The community needs details on how Transmog will work to prepare for sunsetting this fall and/or start saving up materials now.

[Spoiler] I think what we did to Saint is what the Exo Stranger did/is doing to us.

    Posted: 28 Jun 2020 12:11 PM PDT

In Season of Dawn we went back in time and saved Saint-14 and encouraged him to fight for the Last City, had we not been there to help him the Destiny universe would probably be different. Specifically this part of the Season.

Crackpot Spinfoil Theory: I think The Exo Stranger is pulling a very similar stunt going all the way back to the mission A Stranger's Call, cutscene here.

I'm convinced that The Exo Stranger in that cutscene is talking to the Beyond Light Guardian and Ghost, and Beyond Light Guardian is telling the Exo Stranger to convince our past self (D1 Vanilla Guardian) to keep fighting by taking out the Heart of the Black Garden.

I mean, had the Exo Stranger not told the Guardian about the Black Garden, Darkness would have consumed the system way early on and the big story beats would have never happened throughout the franchise's history (i.e, the Traveler awakening, the Pyramids arriving, and now the Pyramid opening up on Europa, these are probably the biggest story beats of Light and Dark).

I'm also convinced she isn't talking to Eris or the Drifter in this cutscene because we didn't meet Eris until after the Exo Stranger left and the Drifter wasn't until Forsaken. But who knows, Time Travel is whack.

Hopefully the Exo Stranger has time to explain this fall. What are your thoughts?

Got a pretty nice screenshot on the moon

    Posted: 28 Jun 2020 08:50 AM PDT

I really wish that we would get more than just 1 or 2 Catalysts per season for old weapons.

    Posted: 28 Jun 2020 08:20 AM PDT

Title; seriously, I understand Quality over Quantity, but there are still a ton of weapons from year 2 that are neglected of their catalysts.

I wouldn't mind if it was an all or nothing situation, but Year 3's Season Pass weapons and Fourth Horseman get their Catalysts launched with the Exotic itself, meanwhile stuff like Malfeasance, Last Word, 1K, Queenbreaker, etc. get nothing, or have Catalysts in the database being purposefully put on hold.

Wavesplitter in particular is annoying because one of its perks relies on Orbs of Light, but it's a weapon that can't generate Orbs of Light.

What's the point of a linear fusion rifle in the heavy slot if it can't one shot the body?

    Posted: 28 Jun 2020 05:08 PM PDT

    (This entire post exempts Sleeper)

(This post talks about PvP damage)

Honestly. These are supposed to be considered heavy weapons, which revolve around doing massive damage. If a machine gun can do high rapid damage, a sword can one shot, and rocket launchers can take out a group of enemies, why can't a linear fusion rifle one shot the body? I ask this because I can't think of ANY instance a linear fusion rifle can be favored for use when a sniper does the exact same thing with less wind up. And on top of that, it's a different version of a fusion rifle; and most fusion rifles can actually kill with a one shot.

Maybe make them a special weapon, or give them a damage buff.

The power grind has made it really hard to get my friends back into the game.

    Posted: 28 Jun 2020 05:25 PM PDT

So I used to have all of my friends playing destiny 2 and we had an amazing time together as a clan. We all kinda took a break last season because we were running out of things to do and kinda needed a rest, but I cannot get them back into the game to do the new dungeon. No one wants to do more of the old content to get to the new dungeon which is all anyone actually wants to do. I know the power grind has been talked about to death, but its really impacting returning players in a negative way :(

To all new players: DO NOT dismantle the season pass armor you get from Level 37/57.

    Posted: 28 Jun 2020 07:11 AM PDT

That armor has rolls in the mid 60s, making it the highest rolled armor you get without going into pinnacle activities or random chance. (And that random chance is incredibly low. In my entire time in Destiny I only got one mid-60 armor from legendary drops.)

I mean Level 37 to 57. There are multiple pieces of armor within that 20 Level range.

Isn't it about time we got rid of the Wanted enemies in strikes and ordeals?

    Posted: 28 Jun 2020 11:06 AM PDT

They serve no real purpose anymore.

    - They're an annoying and unnecessary obstacle to deal with in high level ordeals and strikes, wasting your ammo and not awarding any points.

    - The loot they very rarely drop will be worthless in 2.5 months

    - Forsaken as a story is dead so there's no lore reasons to keep them around either. Uldren has been killed, revived, and forgotten about, Mara Sov is nowhere to be seen as usual and is unlikely to appear in Beyond Light, and the dreaming city has been completely forgotten about.

Can we please just get rid of them?

Edit: just asked my wife's boyfriend he wants them removed too

I really hope the Fall DLC delivers the same lost sector experience as the Moon LSs

    Posted: 28 Jun 2020 10:44 AM PDT

Honestly the amount of detail into the Moon lost sectors is extraordinary, even small changes like boss mechanics was a breathe of fresh air. I feel although the moon was a re-release, it game a breathe of fresh air to the play space. I really hope that Europa and The Cosmodrome both sport, immersive and genuinely beautiful lost sectors on the same - or better tier as the moon. Bungie you've shown us what you can do with Lost Sector spaces, so please keep this trend up. :)

    Posted: 28 Jun 2020 02:01 PM PDT

Menagerie always feels like a party. Raids are cool but too mechanic heavy for matchmaking. I don't recall having to spend so much time researching the mechanics of D1 raids.

Destiny 2 PVE Damage and Resilience Testing Results (June 28 2020)

    Posted: 28 Jun 2020 08:43 AM PDT

People have been wondering recently if Resilience Scaling in PVE has been changed, or Enemies are now hitting harder than before. I have set out to test this, using u/Cykeisme 's post on stacking resist mods from half a year ago as reference. I tested out damage taken from a Line Rifle Hobgoblin in the Nessus Lost Sector ("The Orrery"), to keep things consistent with the original test done half a year ago.

    Results are here: https://imgur.com/a/kCh4HA0.

From the first image, you can tell that damage amounts from half a year ago and today are almost identical. We do not know exactly how much resilience was used in Cyke's test, but it is close enough that, at least for Hobgoblin Line Rifles, the damage does not seem to have changed.

Another interesting point to note, the first image has scaled bars indicating True Resilience, showing the difference between 5 and 10 Resilience. Contrast this to the unscaled version in the second image, and you can see why most people believe resilience is trash; the scaled bar makes the 5% difference between the two seem almost negligible. Of course, 5% more resilience is not great for 50 points of scaling, it would still be better to stack resists as needed (with each resist giving out ~10% Effective HP for the first 3 mods!).

    -----

TL;DR: PVE Damage and Resilience values do not appear to have changed from half a year ago. Resilience in PVE is still meh, overshadowed by Minor/Major/Boss Resists, although Titan may get secondary benefits.

    ------

Edit: If people need it, here is my full testing process, as a gif: https://imgur.com/a/KIrdenf.

    Edit: Remarked as Discussion Flair

Edit: Thanks for the Gold! I'll use it to contribute back to the Destiny Community :D

    -------------

    Edit Regarding Nightfall Enemy Damage:

Just ran some testing on a 810 Light Level Warlock in 750 Lake of Shadows Nightfall the Ordeal, compared to Pre-Shadowkeep Lake of Shadows Nightfall. Results are here: https://imgur.com/a/EwhKO34

From this trial, we seem to take less damage from red-bar enemies in current Nightfall, the Ordeal compared to pre-Shadowkeep numbers. However, because Nightfall the Ordeal also has many Champions and Powerful enemies, the balance of new powerful enemies offsets the lesser damage done by current red-bar enemies.

TL;DR: Current Nightfall The Ordeal damage is comparable to pre-Shadowkeep numbers.

To "ZeRo", a low-level guardian stuck in my 4k+ Competitive lobby:

    Posted: 28 Jun 2020 05:54 PM PDT

You were truly awful for the first three rounds. You ran, face first and head down, into every encounter with the optimism that can only come from playing in sub-500 Glory lobbies.

Predictably, we lost those three rounds. Badly. Enough for me to turn to my computer, look you up, and realize just how far out of your element you actually were. I'll be honest--I'd already decided I was done for the night after this game. But then something magical happened... you adjusted your playstyle.

You slowed down! You stopped rumbling and tumbling toward the inevitable! You didn't magically start getting kills, and I'm not here to say that Bungie got this matchmaking thing right for you (seriously, this was kind of fucked up), but you gave myself and the other guardian space to get picks and win encounters. Turns out, this was the difference maker.

Slowly, we fought back, round after round. I had a much better-than-usual Dawnblade. The other blueberry on my team ("Good guy") started hitting snipe after snipe. You got a kill or two--I think you even knocked a player. By the end of the match, and by some miracle, we pulled out the 4v3 win.

But it started with you, and your willingness to change the way you played. So wherever you are (and I have changed names somewhat here to protect the innocent), thank you for being a team player. And to the other less-than-stellar PvPers in the Freelance playlist sticking by your teammates and committing to winning as a team--thank you. :-)

I wish exotic ornaments were frequently available.

    Posted: 28 Jun 2020 09:29 PM PDT

There are some exotics that are super useful (wormhusk crown) but, to me, are really ugly (wormhusk crown). I wish I could get my hands on more ornaments for these (worm) hideous (husk) exotics (crown).

I might actually consider spending silver on them if I could pick and choose what I wanted. But I feel like Bungie has even placed its FOMO design in Eververse.

    Tarrabah cry for help

    Posted: 28 Jun 2020 09:04 PM PDT

The Crown of Sorrow raid is going away by the end of the season before the exclusive raid exotic Tarrabah is being fixed. It has been an issue since it was released on June 4th of last year. Its been a year and a month now and feels completely forgotten. This is a well documented issue at this point on its problem of losing its ravenous beast charge from doing the following:

    - Switching weapons

    - Activating your super

    - Pulling out your ghost

    - Summoning your sparrow

    - Picking up objective items ( Example: picking up the bloom orb from contact public event)

Bungie, If you don't want to address fixing it either remove the exotic from the game or put it in the gun in the DCV until you know what you want to do with it.

P.S. Giving it some extra stability or larger magazine too would be nice

    Optimized Bounties For 6/28/2020

    Posted: 28 Jun 2020 11:00 AM PDT

Deer trivia: One last fact about the Père David deer: before their population was hunted to extinction, several deer were captured and sent to different countries for varying reasons. Some ended up in the Berlin zoo, where they were later purchased by the Duke of Bedford. He bred his own herd, and several generations later, his family donated them back to China. There are almost 1000 wild Père David deer in China now, and every single one of them can trace their lineage back to the Duke of Bedford's herd.

Just because there is no D3, Bungie does not mean suddenly have more assets and resources to make more stuff that we want

    Posted: 28 Jun 2020 09:21 PM PDT

Keep seeing post saying "Since D3 is not happening" or "Because D3 is not real" as if that changes the fact that a concept you came up is now more likely happen. These post also have ridiculous concepts such as making each strike having full armor sets and weapons... GoS does not have a heavy weapon so what makes you think every strike is gonna have an armor set?

The "development" of D3 is in reality D2 Year 4 and Beyond (Light :]) and was nothing a thing in the first place.
