Towerthought: What if Fenchurch tells Tess all these wild tales to hide the fact he's not actually an explorer/treasure hunter, and is just some bum who 3D prints all the loot he brings to her in his basement?

    Posted: 01 Aug 2020 06:36 PM PDT

...and he uses the Silver Tess makes to fuel his operation. Perhaps he's always gone for so long because a lot of that crap takes a long time to print out, so he just sits around pounding beer and watching Crucible matches while he waits before offloading it on Tess saying how he found his latest haul on the dark side of the sun or something.

    Give Skyburners Oath “Full Court”

    Posted: 01 Aug 2020 11:04 AM PDT

My friends and I were having some fun in crucible last night and one of my friends was explaining to me how he loves Skyburners oath.

We of course all laughed.... He admitted that the weapon is not good but loves mortar striking kids from across the map. And then it hit me... a heavy grenade launcher that is.

And then it hit me! What if skyburners has Full Court in hip-fire mode! You could maybe 2 tap guardians in the body from the distance of, say, one side of Midtown to the other?

Idk it sounds like a lot of fun. Any thoughts?

EDIT: holy Sh*t this exploded haha. If you don't mind we have a YouTube channel where we discuss ideas like this all the time :D https://m.youtube.com/channel/UCKBCsmU53MBzCm_wNZY7hLA Thank you everyone for the discussion it's awesome!

Borealis and Hard Light keep elements after death

    Posted: 01 Aug 2020 01:03 PM PDT

Title is pretty self explanatory. Right now I'm spending a good bit of time farming the borealis catalyst on the leviathan and I thought I was very close to getting my arc kills done but when I checked my progress it said 10. I checked my gun and it was still on void even tho I know I switched it. Died real quick to see if it was just part of the game mechanics and it was. Don't really feel like testing if hard light is the same way but it would really help to change it so after death ur gun keeps the active element. This could be anywhere from a mild inconvenience to the reason a raid team wipes an otherwise flawless run of a raid (looking at the shanks in sotp).

Farmed Exotics should dismantle into an Ascendant Shard.

    Posted: 01 Aug 2020 09:21 PM PDT

This would actually make getting an exotic weapon you already have or an armor piece that's low rolled still feel exciting.

We have been lacking a really important QOL feature ever since armor 2.0

    Posted: 01 Aug 2020 04:07 AM PDT

The ability to create mod and armor loadouts. It gets really irritating switching between mods for pve and pvp and wastes a lot of time. So I suggest that we be able to create a loadout like in Warframe. It'd make it more appetising to try new mod builds if I didn't have to spend a century going into a menu and swapping mods on console.

Castellum - Where Legions of Cabal go to Die in Hounorable Battle and Masterworked Exotic Weapons are Forged!

    Posted: 01 Aug 2020 08:39 AM PDT

Honestly, what are you doing in Castellum if it's not to finish a Catalyst?

If you are an old, about to be infirm, Cabal warrior I'm pretty sure you go to Castellum just so you can die in honourable battle against one of the Guardians that's always hanging around Castellum.

That's my "Head-Cannon", explaining why they keep funelling Cabal my way when I'm finishing a catalyst. What's yours?

I hope one thing that gets added with Beyond Light are new achievements to unlock and hunt down.

    Posted: 01 Aug 2020 11:13 AM PDT

I'm not talking about triumphs or in game achievements but actual Xbox gamer score achievements, PlayStation trophies, and steam achievements. Ever since Destiny moved to steam I instantly had all of them unlocked. It was a bummer none came with shadow keep.

As much as I love this game, there's gotta be a point where you take a break, and it's okay.

    Posted: 01 Aug 2020 06:30 PM PDT

It's an addicting game. Highly fun, but also very harmful. I can't even imagine how many hours I've spent playing D1 and D2 combined. Probably over 5000.

This isn't a goodbye post or anything, but I just wanted to shed some light on how taking a break might actually be a good thing once in a while. I've been playing this game for at least 2-3 hours a day every day for the past couple years or so, and it's made me extremely attached. It's like a drug, you need more of it to get the same high and when you don't get it, you start complaining and talk about bugs, sandbox changes, loot changes, etc etc etc. There's times where I broke my controller or threw my phone because I didn't get a god roll First In, Last Out or I didn't finish the Grandmaster for the week. I noticed that I also got more aggressive with my family and procrastinated like crazy. My grades were dropping, and I gave more time to the game than to my friends.

I've realized that I'm being really unproductive with my time when I play. I don't have to complete everything on Tuesday and just drag my body until the next reset. With the delay of Beyond Light, I've convinced myself to take a break. Since March, I've been playing the game a little less frequently (instead of everyday, it was every other day). Slowly and slowly I started distancing myself from my PS4. I recently started a no Destiny break from last Thursday. As of today, this is the longest streak I've ever had for not playing the game. And in these few days, I've continued working out, contacted more friends, and learned basic JavaScript.

I booted up the game for a little bit to go to Xur and log off. When I got on, the game just felt so much better, and that's just after half a week. What I'm trying to get at is if you're struggling to take breaks from the game, let this post help you overcome the addiction. I have a good friend who's been trying to take a break for a very, very long time but just cannot get himself out of the loop, even after he got everything essential for the next season and the one after. I hope this post helps him, and others that are struggling to take a break.

In so much as receiving a currency is rewarding, grandmasters this week are super worth the time.

    Posted: 01 Aug 2020 02:22 PM PDT

My group was able to get out time down to about 25 minutes per run. We did it about 6 or 7 times and I got a ton of exotics and 10 golf balls. So long as those currencies are in the state that they are in, it's definitely worth putting the time in to perfect it. Next week should be even better with lake or shadows.

Towerthought: If we can get anti-Champion Mods for Hand Cannons on Armor pieces, then Lumina will become top-tier in most Nightfall: The Ordeal Strikes.

    Posted: 01 Aug 2020 09:02 PM PDT

The biggest drawback to using Exotics in PvE right now is their lack of being able to take a mod slot. The Unstoppable Pulse Rifle Armor Mod though made guns like Outbreak Perfected and Vigilance Wing much more viable in Nightfall: The Ordeal Strikes though, and it allows Legendary Pulse Rifles to take other Mods instead.

If the same treatment were given to Hand Cannons at some point, then Lumina would become the ultimate gun for Master and Grandmaster Ordeal Strikes. Besides being able to stagger Champions, it can also heal teammates (especially beneficial if Attrition is active) and give damage boosts to them as well (which would make killing Champions and Ultras much easier). As it stands, the only Exotic Weapons that get used in these Activities are ones that have intrinsic anti-Champion Mods or have extremely high burst damage, but adding more of the anti-Champion Mods to Armor pieces makes a lot more guns viable.

Of course, they could also just give Exotic Weapons a Mod slot too, but I think this seems to be the alternative going forward. I have my fingers crossed that it's not just a one-time thing.

My friends, Destiny is an auditory E X P E R I E N C E . Try playing the game headphones on with no background music to hear the little details in the sound. It gives a different feel to the game. Major props to the audio team!

Do y'all have a favorite sound byte from the game?

The sound when you pick up an exotic or pull one from the vault has to be mine. Mind lab doors on Mars have such an interesting sound.

Have Amanda become the Armor Reshader vendor.

    Posted: 01 Aug 2020 11:00 PM PDT

Title. And weapons can be handled by the Gunsmith.

It a very simple idea. Have a shader equipped on an armor piece or weapon and choose what spot you want to the color from that shader. That way Bungie doesn't really have to look at how a shader would fit on weapons and armor wasting some resources and time if it takes any time and resources.

Do you think it a good Idea?

Bungie could later work it to add decals on weapons and armor. This could easily extend to sparrows and ships if they really wanted as well.

Prophecy Dungeon Solo Flawlessly as Titan Sentinel - We can punch our way through.

    Posted: 01 Aug 2020 08:19 PM PDT

First things first, this loadout and this tactic was the one that worked for me, my intention with this post is to show other ways of tackle the encounters of the dungeon, and hopefully you will look at this and compare with your attempts and figure out some other way to do it.

This loadout worked for who plays as Titan only and only as a Titan. I used the Code of the Protector because of punch heals and overshields.

    • Mods - I don't have Taken barrier, Hive Barrier or any other taken or hive mod, so I went for a void resistance, solar resistance, major resistance and concussion dampener. Void and Solar resistances for the knights, they have two types of damaging you, a void "grenade" launchers that hits hard and the f**** flames. Concussion dampener helps with the splash damage and the flames as well, major resistance stacks with the elemental ones, but is not flat stack is a % stack. You will need an heavy and special ammo finder, as well an special and heavy ammo scavenger. Taking charge and high energy fire are good picks, they help a lot with the boss.

    • Armor - I advise the use of master worked armor, because you will be using every energy slot available for mods. I used a Void affinity helmet, ark affinity gauntlets and a solar affinity chest. The leg and class item, doesn't matter, as long as you have oppressive darkness.
      • Exotic piece - Dunemarches and Stronghold

    • Mods on the armor pieces - Void resistance and ammo finders on the helmet, major resistance and large weapons loader on the arms, Solar resistance and high energy fire on the chest, concussion dampener and the ammo scavengers on the leg, and finally, minor resist, oppressive darkness and taking charge on the class item. That was the combination that allowed me to have every single thing that I needed on the solo run.

    • Weapons
      • Kinetic - any good bow, any good auto rifle(preferably master worked), blasphemer or chaperone (or both) , crimson, militia's birthright with blinding grenades, a good sniper
      • Energy - Trinity Ghoul (the catalyst is mandatory), a legendary good bow, any good auto rifle(preferably master worked) , truth teller blinding grenades or any other have grenade launcher with blinding grenades, a good sniper.
      • Heavy - Sword, Anarchy(if you have), any good grenade launcher or a good missile launcher.

    • First encounter - in short, skip it.
    • Phalanx Echo
      • Loadout
        • Dunemarchers, Chaperone, bow (or other weapon of choice) and sword
      • The encounter - hide behind of one of the pillars, every time a group of small group of ads spawns, you will run, and punch them. One punch to release the shock from the linear actuators and other for the overshield and heal. These two punch, one will clear most of the ads, and the other will protect you from death. You will take damage, but as a Titan you shouldn't be afraid of that. After clearing the ads, with a blasphemer or a chaperone you can melt the Knights, Chaperone can hit ans hard as 50k and blasphemer 35k slug shotguns are strong and you should use them. Do not hesitate on using your bubble for safety, when you have max molts, jump and hit your "meele key" for a strike and gain momentum, that can be using to quickly change directions on an jump. If the boss push you of the platform, use the sword to be able to go back to it. When the boss shields are down, bubble on him, sword his ass of, you can do a one phase, but it's safer to go to for two phases. If two phase, kill the goblins, they are a pain to deal with when paired with the knights.
    • The Wasteland
      • Here is simple, kill the ads,Try to stay out of the minotaurs , do not die and go to the Cube.
    • The Cube
      • Change switch the exotic armor to Stronghold, We titans can heal by punching things, but the snipers on this encounter hit hard, and when you clear a plate most of the time you will be in a vulnerable position, and Stronghold make you block forever with your sword.
Change Chaperone to blasphemer, put Trinity Ghoul, Trinity Ghoul kills the ads very fast, after that, kill one sniper, spawns a knight, kill a knight spawns a sniper. The snipers are far dangerous than the knights. Use the blasphemer to kill the knights, some times you will need to use Trinity do it. Or you can use a sniper if it suits your play style.
The boss is easy, bubble one, sword him to death, and the other just shoot it, kill the ads, shoot the boss.
    • The Deadsea (Ribbon road.)
      • Make your way to the finish line, use any route that you like. I used Lion Ramparts here for correct some mistakes that I might have made.
    • Kell Echo
      • That one is a dance, you can miss one step, two and you are dead. Dunemarches once more is a must to clear the ads, the other core of this build is the blinding grenades, they are awesome to deal with the overwhelming number of enemies on this room. I used anarchy, Truthteller and Foward path. If done correctly you have no need to use Anarchy, Dunemarches is amazing super underrated. Once again, one punch to clear the ads, and another on the same ad to heal and overshield. When the encounter begins, look for safe spot where you receive "some" damage but not enough to kill you, shoot one grenade to blind the ads, build up linear actuators, punch and punch again, punch and kill the others ads. The knights hit them with the blinding grenades, they can do nothing to you when blinded. Do not be afraid to use your bubble to save you. A bubble worth less than the entire run again. Crimson here is a good pick too if you don't have Anarchy, you can heal a lot with it. Clear the plates, blinding grenades on the ogre, one grenade with oppressive darkness, shoot it dead.
      • Damage phase, switch to a bow on your primary or energy, depends on what grenade launcher you are using. When there are only you and the boss, shoot the boss, when the ads come, switch to the bow, kill them first. I switch from Dunemarches to Lion's Rampart (i died so many times on wrong jumps T.T). You can kill him in three phases.]

Import note: You will die A LOT.

I tried at least 60 times to do the Solo Flawlessly run, on my 35 ish attempt I was able to kill the boss solo, but had already died twice during the boss fight before. You need practice, you need to kill the Kell echo solo before attempting the Solo Flawlessly. You need to know how to kill it, how to pass the room with out dying. I burned almost 200 raid banners on this dungeon.

You need to fail until you don't.

I hope my experience can be of use to someone who is struggling to do it, and sorry for any grammatical mistake '-', English is not my main language, and I don't have the habit to write in English frequently.

I'm creating a list of every exotic armor and what subclass they synergize with. Help me complete it!

    Posted: 01 Aug 2020 09:27 AM PDT

As per my previous post, I am making a spreadsheet that will be an easy reference for every exotic armor and how to best utilize it. I know there are a lot of exotics that are geared only toward either PVP or PVE, but not both. But I want to find the best build for both situations using every armor. For example, how could you best use One Eyed Mask in a strike? Or Celestial Nighthawk in crucible (bubble breaker, anyone?) Armamentarium gives you a second grenade, so you could pair it with any grenade type and super subclass, but what grenade and super gives you the most bang for your buck? Not to mention that you'd want to pair it with a weapon that has Demolitionist and put Dicipline mods on your armor.

I'm a Hunter main, so I'm mostly familiar with those subclasses (though I basically always use top tree tether with St0mp-EE5), but not so much for Warlocks and Titans. So please be specific in your answers as to why your build works. And if there are weapons (exotic or otherwise) and mods that pair well with the builds, please share. The goal is to figure out a viable build for every armor in the game (except the Aeon armors, nobody likes you), and encourage experimentation with your builds.

TL;DR Please BE SPECIFIC in your build. Include the armor, subclass of super it should be paired with, and, if viable for the build you're going for, the grenade type, class ability type, jump type, exotic/pinnacle/legendary weapons, and mods you use with it. And if you can, include both a PVE and PVP build for each armor.
