This week at Bungie, we gave a chilling new look at Stasis.

It feels like just yesterday you were getting your first look at Stasis. Today during a virtual gamescom, we took a deeper look, introducing you to the Hunter Revenant, Titan Behemoth, and Warlock Shadebinder subclasses. There's quite a bit to chew on. How do the new grenades work? What about melee attacks? What are those things that the Hunter just threw? This is just the start.

    Video Link

Over the next two weeks, we'll be releasing additional details through Dev Diaries, and updates to the Bungie.net/Stasis page. First update is planned for September 1. Set your calendar reminders accordingly.

    An Early Patch Note Preview

Usually, we have quick previews of patches the week before they're released. Even though Destiny 2 Update 2.9.2 isn't slated until September 8, we want to give an early preview of a few fixes and changes coming your way. Stay tuned to @BungieHelp for final timelines, as the date may shift if any issues are found.

    Solstice of Heroes: Ornament Glows

Shortly after Solstice went live, we became aware of a difference between how the universal armor glow bundle icon was depicted and how it visually performed in the game. After investigating the issue, we felt the difference between them was too vast. We have revisited the glow intensity of these ornaments and enhanced the in-game appearance to match the icon as closely as possible.

    Sleeper Nodes

With additional Destiny Content Vault details available, we're seeing many players returning to content released in the earlier years of Destiny 2. Some players are hunting Triumphs, while others are focusing on rewards. One of these rewards is the unique emblem players unlock after collecting all the available Sleeper Nodes introduced in Destiny 2: Warmind.

Due to the way that the Sleeper Nodes were created, we are unable to completely remove the possibility of receiving duplicate Override Frequencies, but we are making some improvements to greatly reduce the odds of receiving a duplicate. The following tips will help you avoid duplicates and acquire those final elusive nodes.

    • When combining Resonate Stems, it is very unlikely that the resulting Override Frequency will unlock a node in your current area. For example, if you need to unlock a node in Heatsink, you should leave Heatsink before creating an Override Frequency.
    • Destiny 2 has an internal checklist of nodes you have unlocked. This checklist is separate from the count you see in game, and prior to this fix, the checklist would frequently be cleared. Clearing this checklist is the reason duplicates were so common. Going forward, the checklist will never be cleared.

      • Note: If you create an Override Frequency for a node that you have opened in the past, you should open the node again instead of deleting the Override Frequency. This will allow the internal checklist to be updated, and help prevent future duplicates.

In different terms, the team has created a form of "bad luck protection" for Sleeper Nodes, but the tracking is starting fresh. Get hunting, and you'll be unlocking a unique emblem before you know it.

    Assorted Fixes and Changes

    • Fixing an issue where player spawn effects would freeze in Gambit.
    • Fixing an issue where the ADS on the Cold Denial Season Pass ornament was different than the base weapon model.
    • Redrix's Broadsword will now be available to reclaim from Collections.

      • Note: This will be locked to the first roll rewarded when completing the Broadsword quest.
    • Spider will begin offering three weekly "Wanted" adventure bounties, up from one.

    • Fixing an issue that prevented the Exotic perk on the Merciless Fusion Rifle from triggering.

We have a few more general bug fixes slated for this update as well. Player Support will have a final preview of bugs to be resolved next week, followed by the full list of patch notes when the update goes live.

    See you in two weeks!

    Resolution

    Image Linkimgur

Over the last week, Destiny Player Support has been working with various teams at Bungie to resolve a few high priority issues. First up, dishing out some rightly earned Bright Dust to players who completed Solstice bounties. Second, a fix for one of our more notorious error codes. Read on for details!

    Solstice Bounties

In Hotfix 2.9.1.3, we resolved an issue where weekly and repeatable Solstice of Heroes bounties did not grant Bright Dust rewards upon completion. We have since granted Bright Dust to the first wave of affected players, and will be sending out a second grant in the near future.

    Error Code TAPIR

We have resolved an issue causing players to encounter error code TAPIR when they try to launch Destiny 1 while they have a Twitch account linked to their Bungie.net account.

    Current Known Issues

While we continue investigating various known issues, here is a list of the latest issues that were reported to us in our #Help Forum:

    • Some EAZ Weekly Challenges don't show up at the weekly reset.
    • Some Bungie Rewards codes are not working on the EU Bungie Store.
    • We are investigating TURTLE errors on Destiny 1 and Destiny 2 for players on CenturyLink.

For a full list of emergent issues in Destiny 2, players can review our Known Issues article. Players who observe other issues should report them to our #Help forum.

It's come to our attention that we issued a duplicate Honorable Mention last week for a showcase of Tex Mechanica weaponry. While you can hardly blame us for celebrating awesome content like that, we need to make up for it this week. We have a few extra winners to show. Top of the list, we've got some great musical talents on display. Hope you enjoy!

If you want to take a chance and aim for glory, submit your video to the Creations page. If something you've created is still pending approval, don't worry! Submissions can take a bit of time to process as we have a lot of footage to get through.

If one of these videos belongs to you, congrats! Now make sure you have your Bungie.net profile in the description of said video so we can send out your prize emblem.

Summer is fading. The days are getting shorter and even a bit darker in our neck of the woods. An evening chill is beginning to creep into the air. It's the perfect mood for Stasis subclasses to enter the realm of Destiny 2, and for our first steps on Europa in November. Just a few short months stand between you and Beyond Light.

    Cheers,

Destiny 2: Beyond Light -- Stasis Subclasses -- Gameplay Trailer

    Posted: 27 Aug 2020 12:46 PM PDT

You would think after 12 weeks of the Contact Event, people would know how to do the Blade Brothers...

    Posted: 27 Aug 2020 08:14 AM PDT

Turns out that no... no they don't.

Edit: On a serious note, yes, the encounter design is flawed along with Boss Stomp and strange enemy aggression, but it literally tells you what to do on the screen. Thanks for the response and likes!

Bungie's Marketing team released some B-Roll footage of actual gameplay. The Titan ult is called "Glacial Quake". Stasis supers generate "Orbs of Power".

Whenever I look at the score mid match and see I'm on top, I already know that the match is a given loss.

Bonus points if it throws my guardian up front during the starting cinematic. If this game thinks I'm the one to carry the team, they're terribly mistaken.

This game is still largely missing specialized loot for endgame activities. And we still have completely useless and boring loot in those activities.

    Posted: 27 Aug 2020 09:40 AM PDT

We have loot that is specialized and there are weapons that have perks that have perfect synergies and they are really fun. But there are many legendaries that have nothing unique about them and there are also a lot of legendaries that have too good of loot pools.

Now not every weapon should be amazing but the seasonal and pinnacle loot should be. The three core activities which are the most accessible should mostly have loot that is still good and there still can be a few amazing god roll weapons but it overall should not be that standout so the Pinnacle activities and seasonal loot can. This season has overall followed this and most of the seasonal weapons are very good and they have perk combos that are very good and unique. But there are still pinnacle and seasonal weapons that have nothing special about them. The Scholar, Hoosegow, Death Adder, Widows Bite, Negative Space, Tomorrow's Answer, Exiles Curse, and Berenger's Memory are all really boring and for all of them there is nothing interesting about their perk pools they can't stand out. Most of these weapons are in archetypes that aren't good but even if these archetypes did get buffed I don't think they would be used over weapons that are more obtainable.

When we get new Raid, Trials, Seasonal, and Dungeon loot it needs to feel special in some sort of way because these are the activities we love the most, we stand through the terrible seasons, and we grind endlessly to experience these activities so there should be some pretty amazing stuff in these activities.

I Sherpa most raids on both D1 and D2 when I came across a unique guardian

    Posted: 27 Aug 2020 12:13 AM PDT

I was waiting with 4 other guardians in orbit for our 6th person to volunteer as tribute in the app's LFG. One of the lower light guardians suggested a rather unexperienced guardian from his friend's list and said the inexperienced guardian had little to no experience in raids due to him being handicapped with his hearing.

I TOOK DOWN THE LFG POST AFTER THE MENTION

When the 6th guardian arrived I chatted with him via the messages app and confirmed no guardians were willing to help him out so I decided:
    "Why tf not?"

I started up a normal leviathan raid and walked him through the process via chat and got the castellum and dogs rather quickly. For baths it took a little over 30 minutes but we managed to get down to business and we met with the 3rd encounter: Gauntlet.

At this point I know what most think. It's easy and you don't really need much coordination unless it's for the Doritos on the wall. Well let me tell you. I said f*** it.

After some thought I figured the PS4 does have certain enhancements as long as you use the second screen app. It allows CHAT TRANSCRIPTION.

I convinced this guardian that to go further we needed to communicate in real time even if it was slower. After about 15 minutes and about 4 wipes, we had something solid to work with.

As much as I'd like to provide a happy ending to this experience as a raid Sherpa it was late at night and he had to get off for the night. The last time I saw their light was a 3 months ago and I really want to help this guardian finish a raid.

Manic_Warrior just know it was an honor to fight alongside you :')

Edit: Omg I did not think this post would blow up like it did overnight. Among the salt and hype of beyond light I wanted to share the small wholesome raid experience that made me smile to those in quarantine. I just want the best when it comes to helping others through their first end-game content and you guys as a community really light the way. Unfortunately the emotes were not an option for us as most of my team was focused on the psions and the triangles on the wall. Hence the reason that we needed the chat transcription on the PS4 app.

PS: thank you kind stranger for the platinum and everyone in the comments for sharing your wholesome moments as well. Everyone deserves a chance and I'd love it if bungie implemented M&K support for this purpose with maybe an in-game chat.

By far the most intense Sherpa my clan has ever had... with the best possible result

    Posted: 27 Aug 2020 06:50 AM PDT

Quite a while back, when Crown of Sorrows released,a friend of mine introduced me to a girl that he played with/still plays with. He knows her IRL but never invited her into Xbox parties and never gave a reason why, we all thought he had a crush on her.

Anyways, one day he asked if my clan mates and I would help her through a Last Wish cause she really wants to clear the raid and try and get "One Thousand Voices". I said it shouldn't be a problem but why doesn't he just do it cause it's a fairly easy raid. He said they have been trying for weeks but just can't finish it with her.

Now this was all confusing as he and his clan have multiple completions. Turns out that she is mute, hence why she didn't like joining Xbox parties as she is embarrassed. My mate tells me that they have tried everything for hours on end and he is now asking me as a last resort as he knows that my clan and me have Day One raids, dungeons, multiple solo flawless dungeons, every god roll piece of gear and every title in the game.

I spoke to my clan and we agreed on a date, I set up discord with her so I could see her and she could type to me or mouth what she wanted to say in tight moments.

Long story short, after 2 grueling hours I was able to watch somebody who was a day one Destiny 1 straight through to Destiny 2 player burst into tears and start dancing around her room as she had finished her first ever raid completion in all of Destiny since 2014.

We went on to complete every raid, dungeon and high level team based activity or quest. Unfortunately my clan moved over to PC just after the Garden of Salvation launch as it was clear that Day One completions on console were nearing the impossible stage.

I've texted her in between since and she herself doesn't play destiny anymore but has found a love in other less strenuous games.

And yes, she got "One Thousand Voices" on our 5th completion.

Loaded Question remains one of the best PVE special weapons in the game. Get some use out of it before it's sunset.

    Posted: 27 Aug 2020 05:59 PM PDT

This weapon has a similar effect to Trinity Ghoul, which we all love now that it has the catalyst. When shooting with a full magazine you do more damage, and if you kill an enemy it chains lightning to nearby enemies. This wipes out all ads in proximity, and takes most majors' health down by quite a bit. Also like any fusion rifle the bolts go right through enemies and kill targets behind them. Re-proccing the perk is easy because of auto-loading holster. I use hunter reload dodge often as well. Trinity Ghoul of course uses primary ammo, but some benefits of Loaded Question over TG include:

    1. Doesn't take up an exotic slot. Leaves you free to use an exotic heavy like Xenophage.
    2. You don't have to kill an enemy first to prep the perk (it activates as you kill the first enemy without having to take another shot).
    3. Great for single target burst damage as well. Red bar knights, wizards, ogres, etc. all take one shot, most majors take one fully loaded shot plus a quick follow-up.
    4. Pretty good against bosses when your heavy runs out. Also great against champions.
    5. It works with scatter projectile and rifle mods, so it pairs nicely with other rifles (especially autos since they both use solar affinity armor) and machine guns (Xenophage), when it comes to maximizing mod efficiency.
    6. People ask "what the hell are you using?!" when they see you at the top of the leaderboards.

I don't know the exact DPS numbers and it'd be meaningless and/or impossible to provide realistic ones because it all depends on how many enemies are around, how many of your bolts hit, how often you're swapping it out to auto-reload, etc. But for any activity where ads spawn in clumps, it's amazing. But again - also for burst damage on majors and hefty red bars.

I use it almost every time I run a raid, which I've been doing 10+ of each week. Garden of Salvation: excellent for defending relays (also for collecting motes in the boss fight, however the harpies don't activate its perk). Last Wish: excellent for the entire thing, but so is Trinity Ghoul. Used LQ to get my solo flawless Prophecy completion. Menagerie, gambit (can one-shot an overshielded invader), strikes, you name it. It's great. Especially for the more CQC playstyle I have as a wormhusking, invisi-dodging hunter.

Redrix v1.2: Now with stats & passage status for ToO.

    Posted: 27 Aug 2020 09:40 AM PDT

After a LONG hiatus (2020, eh?) u/mikechambers and I have started chipping away at the feature backlog for Redrix, our Crucible companion app for iOS and Android.

I was depressed seeing my valor k/d impacted by 0.0 matches in ToO (I suck at Trials, it's sad), so the first thing we tackled was adding a new Trials tab to separate out your matches and stats correctly. While we were at it, we also added a UI to display your passage status (wins, losses, type).

We have some more ambitious plans for the next release, but wanted to restart dev with something straightforward and attainable to build momentum.

The latest should be available now in the iOS app store & the Play store, but you can get more info, and find links to the app at redrix.io. As always, Redrix is free and has no ads, and we welcome your feedback.

Real Talk: Titans need to be more than just punching. We need to give Titans more depth and more identity. There are only so many interesting ways to theme something (exotic/ability/super/etc) around punching.

    Posted: 27 Aug 2020 05:43 PM PDT

If you haven't seen the gameplay for the new Titan Super, you can see it at the link below.

    https://twitter.com/HopliteDestiny/status/1299099561093402624?s=19

Don't get me wrong, in a world where Striker doesn't exist, this would be dope as hell. I mean, even in a world where Striker exist it's still cool looking. However, I keep trying to convince myself that it's not just more slamming and punching again. I mean, it's obviously more nuanced but, we're still out here slamming and punching things, again...

Part of me wishes they would have just borrowed from another class. For instance, what if the Titan rolled up a huge ice ball, mounted it on their shoulder (like atlas) and threw it like a shot put? Theoretically, it would just be an ice Vortex Nova Bomb but, it would still feel new to Titans. It would give us a ranged "one and done" super, something we don't have in our kit.

I'm sure this new class is fun, they always are, and bungie always does a phenomenal job with their game design. It's just...big sigh... could we maybe try to be more than just a mindless crayon wielding Fist for a change? I feel like it's a disservice to all the great field commanders and tacticians who lead the Vanguard and curate Crucible, Iron Banner, Trials of Osiris, and so many of the other intelligent Titans in the lore.

We are more than just crayon eating zombies, who only understands how to solve a problem with a fist. We're Mentors. We're Leaders. We're Tacticians. We're Titans.

    <3

Sincerely a "I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed" Titan main that still loves this game.

There better be a new PvP mode - Freeze Tag

    Posted: 27 Aug 2020 01:18 PM PDT

    Freeze tag

    - Mayham regeneration, 4 rounds, first to 25, 10 minute timer

Two teams of four - One side starts with a Stasis super, one with a random roaming Solar super.

Objective - Stasis team is trying to freeze the Solar team. If you get frozen, your team has to use their Solar super to unfreeze you.

    - Solar team's objective is to unfreeze teammates, kills don't award points, unfreezing teammates do

    - Stasis team's objective is to freeze opponents, deaths from freezing award points

    How to play

Stasis will coordinate to box players and gang up on opponents that split from their team. Once frozen, the Solar team has 15 seconds to 'unfreeze' their teammate. Once the timer ends, the opponent dies and 1 point is awarded to the Stasis team. Solar is trying to either keep the score at 0 or unfreeze their teammates. If they can get the unfreeze, they are awarded 1 point. However, Solar has a double effect of also able to instantly kill a Stasis player. by doing so, they are not awarded a point and risk unable to unfreeze a teammate. First to 25 wins or highest before the time runs out.

Arcadia class jumpship animation I made

I made this animation of an Arcadia class jumpship exiting hyperspace over the weekend to practice my shot design and camera animation work (needs lots of work). I made it with blender, terragen and nuke. Render time in blender was around an hour at 4K, 10 or so minutes for a 6k planet still, and the comp was probably the longest to render if I add the precomps I did. Hope you like it!

Don't we need a Wiki regarding mechanics? Or at least popularize one of them with info about it?

    Posted: 27 Aug 2020 09:52 AM PDT

Don't you think we lack a place were we can find or add reliable information? I mean, often people post some good information here on reddit but it get lost after few days. Like that breakdown from reload speed, where else we will find that info online? It should be at least in of the various wikis about Destiny (which all of them have at least five thousand pages) and yet, none of them have a single page about reloading mechanics. Actually, there's one wiki which 1 of its 9552 articles, addresses reload speed. But you don't need to click the link, I'll transcript the whole article for you:

"Reload speed is a measurement of how quickly a weapon can be reloaded. Higher reload speed values quicken reload time."

Holy moly, thanks! Warframe people are just losing time making an article about reload speed of their game.

The sad part is that you know that our wikis could be more informative, but they all draw info from the api and that's it. It's easy to get thousands articles that way if you fill it with hollow pages but try to find the exact bonus you get from Surrounded perk or the range and zoom bonus from Rangefinder on any wiki. Try finding the damage output variation that every planet has according to the mission power level. Try to find the total HP from any boss. It is possible to find those scattered around the internet but we need a place were we can add info and post results, tests and conclusions. Even the devs can get an insight in what to adjust if there's a place where info converges. In my opinion, popularizing a place were anyone can edit would already incentivate people to add their own findings but we must choose one main to gather all the data.
