My 4-year-old comments during contact public event

    Posted: 15 Sep 2020 05:14 PM PDT

She's sitting on my lap while I'm doing the contact public event, she sees the ads dropping motes and says "why are they dropping the garbage on the floor?" I tell her "because they are bad people, so we have to pick it up" she then asks "so where the garbage can?"

The bank was closed at the time, but I go to it and I tell her "we have to open it up" and on queue, it opens and I bank the motes "just like that".

Who said destiny can't be educational.? lol

My hope is that one day she'll remember that in his video games daddy was trying to help her save the world by putting the garbage in the garbage can, instead of her mother telling her its not nice that daddy is always shooting things (she means in the video game BTW).

    Val Ca'uor..

..EASLY ONE OF MY FAVOURITE RAID ENCOUNTERS!!

Hey! Ever since Learning about the content vault that is about to hit all Leviathan raids as well as SotP, I wanted to give the raid bosses some kind of nice send of.. and I have decided to start with one of my favourite of the bunch, VAL CA'UOR! One of the main things I enjoy about him is the fact how mechanicaly and time intensive everything is (one of the reasons why i realy love CoS' boss and preboss encounter)

ANYWAYS if you enjoy my creation(s) be sure to check out my Twitter!

I make weird exotic 'concepts' out of drawings people send me.

    Posted: 15 Sep 2020 07:15 AM PDT

I figured I'd share here - I used to do this series called DoodlesToGuns a while ago where the community would send me drawings and I'd digital paint them up to Destiny-themed weapon concepts for fun!

(Little disclaimer: The main goal of this is to make something fun + close to the initial sketches. Some of them aren't practical or closely fitting, I know)

The most recent 3 Exotic Concepts!

Last night we sent off one of our Guardians with the raid that brought us together.

    Posted: 15 Sep 2020 11:22 AM PDT

Like the title says last night was a really cool moment and I thought I'd share it with you guys.

Today, one of our guardians is heading to basic and a slew of other training to follow, which means we won't be playing with him for a very long time. To send him off right he wanted to run King's Fall one last time before heading out.

For context, almost five years ago a few of us started playing together, some of us knew of each other, others were friends, and most were complete strangers. I think the activity that really brought us together though was King's Fall. This activity would get us into chat for hours on end as we pushed through each encounter or died over and over again at the dick wall or Oryx. One of my favorite memories was our first time getting to Oryx's final stand, instead of shooting him for the kill everyone went into their inventories to pop three of coins, because of this we wiped and could not get back to that phase for hours. We affectionately called that moment "Coin Gate". Anyways, overtime our hodgepodge group of guardians would grow to be some of my best friends and favorite people in the world. We have so many memories for each encounter and honestly, it's a season I look back on often because it was so full of laughter. Five years later and we still game together and when possible hang out in real life, it's definitely not as easy as it used to be and we're fragmented over different games but we're still there for each other.

Anyways, last night we went back to where it all began, and man was it fun. I can't think of any better sendoff than watching Oryx float off into space with the people I love. It really is crazy how a game like Destiny can connect us with people all over the world. The memories it can forge and the kinda people it can grow us to be.

We're gonna miss our friend but at least we have some fresh memories to think back on till he gets back home. Thanks for reading guys and thanks Bungie for making a universe for us to build friendships in.

    Here's our victory pic.

Raid loot needs to be more unique.

    Posted: 15 Sep 2020 02:44 AM PDT

As it stands currently, there is pretty much no reason to do a Raid except for pinnacle gear, seals and to have fun (which are fair enough reasons). And maybe just to get a weapon you like. The loot isn't unique enough to justify going out to acquire it.

Back in Destiny 1, all the Vault of Glass weapons came with Oracle Disruptor

This weapon deals bonus damage to Oracles in the Vault of Glass.

Although not useful outside of the raid itself, it was still unique

Kings fall weapons all came with Cocoon (Which is Auto Loading Holster) and dealt bonus damage to taken enemies.

Wrath of the Machine weapons had Whirlwind's Curse

This weapon does bonus damage against Fallen. Bonus Agility when this weapon is equipped

Now with the armour, Vault of Glass armour would have perks like Vex Striker which would have a chance to spawn an orb of light after killing a vex enemy with a precision kill. There was also Anti Praetorian which would grant bonus super energy after killing one. Wrath of the Machine had Eliksni Immunity, which would make you take less damage from Fallen for a short time after picking up an orb. I could list the many other perks but you get the idea.

Although, Destiny 2 does have perks like this on our armour because we are able to apply it using a mod slot. But when compared to armour you can get from other sources, it's really not that much better. It's possible to get armour that is stat rolled better out in the world than raid gear. But, raid gear is more consistent in giving good rolls. What if raid gear could roll really heavily into one stat and have completely unique stat rolls? For example, you could get a helmet with maximum recovery but 0 in all the other stats. What if the gauntlets for Warlocks increased the amount of scout rifle damage you did and the gauntlets for Titans increased shotgun damage. This could also give us more class identity.

Now what do we have in Destiny 2 on raid weapons to make them stand out? (pretty much) Nothing. The only one we have is Taken Spec which gives bonus damage against take which, in my opinion, should be a blanket perk across all Last Wish raid weapons, like how all the raid weapons in Destiny 1 had perks relating to where they were obtained and the enemies in that raid. Raid weapons should have unique perks that only they can have that is on all of them. Some raid energy weapons could do 10% extra damage against shields and some kinetics have 10% against un-shielded enemies. If there is ever Hard mode added again, the hard mode ones could have a 20% bonus. Just as an example. There should also be more perks that only raid weapons can have on them.

Maybe give us set bonuses? This could work with weapons as well. If you have the full raid set on, or some pieces (Could go 2,4,5,6,7,8 this includes weapons) you get some sort of bonus at each tier of depending on the pieces you have on.

Hey Bungo, can we get an emote wheel? There are too many awesome emotes

    Posted: 15 Sep 2020 06:48 PM PDT

The upgrade to full customization was awesome. You guys keep adding emotes I want to use.

Consider this, you add an emote wheel there is more incentive for people to pay money for emotes because we can use way more.

I think this would be awesome for this game and I've seen other posts about it too.

There’s an emblem for opening all 40 Sleeper Nodes that probably won’t unlock right away. You need to do one extra node to get it to pop.

    Posted: 15 Sep 2020 09:41 AM PDT

A lot of people are going for the Sleeper Nodes before Mars gets sunset.

Bungie's fix helps somewhat, but you still get a lot of duplicates, which is infuriating at times.

Once I got my triumph for the 40 nodes, I was expecting the emblem to drop, but it didn't. A quick Google search gave me the answer. Simple; just do one more node.

I mentioned it on Discord to a clan mate who had just completed all 40 nodes and he had forgotten there was an emblem for it. So he went back to do one more.

So don't forget. After you get all 40 nodes, you might feel like never returning to Mars again, but you gotta do one more node for the emblem.

A Daybreak Send Off For Vaulted Raids

    Posted: 15 Sep 2020 10:15 AM PDT

So, I think we should get a "Daybreak Week" (Mayhem) for raids before Beyond Light drops.

This could be an incredibly fun send off for raids being vaulted. Also, it may bring together many in the community that may not run raids. They did Daybreak in D1 with strikes and Challenge of Elders back in 2017. So, why not try again in D2 but this time bring it into the raids! Imagine running every encounter and just lobbing super after super towards enemies and bosses! This could be an amazing event and would encourage community involvement within raids like we haven't seen before. Wouldn't be too hard to implement either as we already have Meyhem in crucible.

So, Bungie, let us truly become legend for one week! Let us send Calus, Argos, Val Ca'our, Gahlran, and Insurrection Prime off in a blaze of glory supers!

To all the LFGers looking to farm the Nightfall who ask for crazy requirements for no reason...CALM DOWN

    Posted: 15 Sep 2020 06:04 PM PDT

I've see posts like "Master nightfall farm must be over 1080 light" and "GM Nightfall must be over 1090" and "Must have oppressive darkness, overload grenades, counter charge, high energy fire, izanagi at max light"

Reminds me of the OG "LFG VoG/Crota must have spindle/ghorn" posts.

Bruh. GM nightfalls are locked at 1075 so any power level above that is pointless. For master nightfalls anyone over 1070 will have an easy enough time. This isn't a world's first raid race, you don't need the most omega optimal try hard loadout to farm this strike in 10-12 minutes EASY.

Relax everyone. Be kind. Happy farming.

One thing I'm excited about for Destiny 2 in November, it seems like it will feel like one game.

    Posted: 15 Sep 2020 11:27 AM PDT

Destiny 2 is a mess right now. There's so many different currencies and so many different systems. There's gambit and gambit prime. There's 2 variants of nightfalls. Year 1 weapons can't take mods. Mods, to the untrained eye, feel like they can or cant be applied to specific gear for random reasons. Benedict, Ada, and the drifter all have weird systems that are completely different to get rewards. Leviathan still gives coins and year 1 weapons. Last Wish and Garden give weapons that are good for everything going forward, but no other raid does.

In September, there will be one Nightfall. There will be one gambit. There will be one system for weapons that are current. I'm hopeful mods will get better and easier to use. There won't be a chalice. There won't be gambit synths and motes to spend at reckoning. I'll miss alot of the content, but it finally seems like they are going to make the game behave the same way around the whole game. This hasn't been something that's been available in Destiny 1 or Destiny 2 since vanilla of each game. All that said, I could be wrong but everything leads me to believe this is going to be the case.

Best loadouts that will make the GrandMaster Lake Of Shadows farm easier for this week.

    Posted: 15 Sep 2020 12:29 PM PDT

considering that this is the best week for farming Exotics and Ascendant shards for this season I figured it would be a good idea to give some advice to those that still haven't found the best loadout possible for the week and what I've found works the best for my team.

    https://imgur.com/gallery/TTCJJYk

First, lets talk about the resist mods, Ideally you will want to have 5 resist mods on your character divided by : x2 minor mods, x2 major mods (for the champions) and x1 Concussive dampener, If you have attemped to do the prophecy dungeon flawlesly you'd know how important it is to have that concussive dampener for the fire from the knights.

    - Now for the weapons, I've seen quite a ton of people going with 2 Izanagis, and although that might be the "Safest" route , I have found way even more success by using 1 izanagi and a xenophage. 1 charged shot from the izanagi + 1 Mountain top shot followed by 4 Xenophage shots will take down any overload champions.

Xenophage also easily takes care of the captains and knights shield, it also 2 shots them and it will easily take care of the knight mini boss at the end of the bridge.

Ideally you'll have 3 overload rounds (1 from the div for the warlock, one from the bow for the titan and 1 from the overload nades for the hunter) and 2 unstoppable rounds. try not to have less than that as it might make things harder if any of your unstop teammates dies.

the entire strike is filled with taken, if you have a take spec mod don't hesitate using it for that extra 10 % damage increase on all the taken enemies.

-As for the armor mods Countercharge makes wonders in this strike, pair that with Supercharged and you'll be charged with light almost the entire strike (which makes it easier to take down those champs and knights too).

the taken mods are useful, but I know not everyone has them, the minor resist should help you enough to the point where you wont need them, but if you're the titan using the xenophage I would say that it is a MUST.

If you're the warlock for your team, you can use your well at 3 important stages of the strike, 1 at the phallax mini-boss at the end of the blights, at the stairs where the 3 knights and 1 unstop and overload spawn and at the end to keep your team mates safe.

If you're the titan for your team, there are 3 phases where your bubble will come in handy, at the Phallax mini-boss for the damage increase and overshield. at the start of the bridge, you can have a teammate shot an unstoppable round at the feet of the 2 unstop champions and place a bubble on them so you can safely sword them, and at the end to easily 1 phase the boss and keep your team safe from the rest of the ads.

If you're the hunter for your team, try to go with special finisher on your class item so you can always have ammo for your sniper and for the divinity of your teammate. The tether comes handy on just 2 parts of the strike, for the phallax boss at the end of the blights and at the final boss to keep you safe from the ads.

You should easily be able to complete the strike in 15-20 mins tops using this strat.

This is just a summary of the entire strike, there are a ton of videos showing a similar loadout on youtube but if you'd like to see my teams mates and I using it let me know!

Rift Generator Heroic public event in Dreaming City is in my opinion the best PE ever. We need stuff like this in Beyond Light.

    Posted: 15 Sep 2020 03:06 PM PDT

It's pretty complex if we compare to others public events and getting into Ascendant Realm to fight against Vakarsik makes it even more special. It's kind of event that i always want to do heroic, even it is 2 years old i still can enjoy it.

I hope Beyond Light will bring us more experiences like this and a better reward system for public events.

Just a heads-up regarding “Double Loot” for Nightfall: The Ordeal’s: you don’t get double of the same drop, just two different drops instead of one. These rewards can be the same or different depending on the tier.

Just thought I'd spread the word since there's been a few posts regarding confusion about the subject.

Either way though, if you get Platinum on Grandmaster, you WILL get at least two Ascendant Shards, plus everything else.
