Hey Bungie? Can you bring back the random announcements from the Tower PA system?

    Posted: 07 Oct 2020 02:19 PM PDT

"Fireteam Bouley, This is Ikora Rey, Do not leave the voice on the Comms."

"Will Fireteam.... (sigh) Will Fireteam 'The Bad Guys don't care what we call ourselves' please report to the Vanguard immediately."

"This is Ikora Rey. The South Tower is off limits because we are still cleaning up last night's... event."

Just to list a few of the announcements made. Think of the all the new one's that can be broadcasted.

Beyond Light – Weapons and Gear Trailer

edit: Gifv versions & images with descriptions -

    • No Time To Explain (image)

      • Personal protection portal – Precision hits and hits against enemies affected by Stasis will return to the magazine. Stack this effect to summon a portal which will fire bullets from an alternate timeline of the weapon.
    • Cloudstrike (image)

      • Lightning on precision hits – Precision final blows will generate lightning bolts at the target location. Rapid precision shots will summon an entire storm at the point of impact.
    • The Lament (image)

      • Shred barrier shields – A mortal blade, a stalwart shield. Block with The Lament to rev the blade, then shred through shielded enemies. At its peak, damaging an enemy will heal the wielder.
    • Icefall Mantle (image)

      • Replaces barricade with overshield – Stand tall against the oncoming hordes with this reinforced armor that replaces the Titan's Barricade with Overshield, absorbing damage from incoming fire.
    • Mask of Bakris (image)

      • Shift replaces dodge – Don the Mask to replace the Hunter's Dodge ability with a longer range Shift ability that also temporarily cloaks the wearer during use.
    • Athrys's Embrace (image)

      • Superior weighted knife – The Hunter's weighted knife gains a second ricochet; rapid precision hits gain a damage bonus and can temporarily stagger enemies.
    • Dawn Chorus (image)

      • Improved burns and Daybreak damage – Feel that sweet burn. The Warlock's Daybreak projectiles deal extra damage and cause enemies to burn on contact. Gain melee energy each time a burn damages a target.
    • Necrotic Grip (image)

      • Melee spreads poison – A deadly caress, compounded. Melee attacks corrupt enemies with increasing damage over time. Defeating a corrupted combatant spreads the corruption to nearby targets and restores melee energy.
    • Precious Scars (image)

      • Revive creates shielding aura – Prove your strength, even when coming back from the brink. Upon revives, the Titan gains an Overshield aura that protects the wearer and nearby allies.
    • Salvation's Grip (image)

      • Launch Stasis projectiles – Redemption is within your grasp. Each fired projectile will create Stasis crystals that will freeze nearby targets. Charge to increase the amount of crystals created and the freeze radius.

Warlocks Should Have Gotten An Exotic That Changes Their Class Ability As Well

    Posted: 07 Oct 2020 11:04 AM PDT

As I'm sure most of you all know the trailer for some (hopefully) of the new exotics was released. Both Titans and hunters got exotics that look meta changing. The Warlock exotics looked like they would only be used in niche situations, and not exactly all the time. As I watched the trailer I thought there was a trend of exotic's that changed class abilities, like the titan overshield and hunter teleport. When we got to the Warlock exotic reveals, there was no exotic that adjusted the Warlock rift. This is disappointing, as I have some ideas for a exotic that enhances the warlock rift.

    1) Allow the Warlock to leave the rift and retain the buff for 1-2 seconds.

-This makes the warlock class ability more dexterous. Instead of it just being an anchor.

    2) Pressing the class ability button again teleports you back to the rift.

-This would be really useful, and possibly annoying. But, I like the idea.

    3) This is similar to the first one, but the rift follows you. Let me explain, you use the rift, and for a couple of seconds you leave a trail of rift energy. Now you can create custom rift shape to suite your needs.

-You could use this to run between two doorways, and now you have a long ,thin, line of healing/bonus damage between two choke points.

    -Maybe a little too niche.

Well, let me know what you guys think. Are you satisfied with the warlock exotics in the trailer? Do my concepts sound like anything reasonable? Whatever your opinions are, have a nice day!

If you're going to give Hunters shift, please fix Warlock's blink.

    Posted: 07 Oct 2020 11:28 AM PDT

Let me preface this by saying I'm legit happy for the hunters. You've been asking for this for a while- whilst it seemingly has no verticality, it is essentially a blink. I'll be treating it like it's a blink when comparing it to the Warlock blink. Also, this post is mostly in the context of PvP, because in my experience and opinion blink would never be worth using in PvE.

When a warlock blinks, their hitbox is stretched across the entire path of the blink. Here's a video with many, many examples. Now, when I watch the new video showing the Hunter's blink (or shift), it's easily observed that the hitbox isn't stretched. The hammer impacts within the hunter's "blink path".

Blink has multiple drawbacks: reduced handling on exit, lack of radar during and on exit, large visible trail in the "blink path", only two charges, and a stretched hitbox. Blink's role in both PvP is to suddenly relocate yourself and surprise the enemy- the fact that it has a stretched hitbox means it cannot be used for this, nor can it be used for dodging incoming attacks.

From what we've seen, Shift barely has a visible trail in its "path", and it seemingly doesn't have a stretched hitbox. Shift's role in PvP will probably be a longer, sudden dodge to both relocate yourself and dodge incoming attacks. Shift takes Blink's role and does it better.

The only true downside of shift is that it's a dodge, and therefore has a longer cooldown- but at 100 mobility, it only has a cooldown of 10s (whilst blink has a cooldown of 5s after both blinks are used). Plus, hunters can give buffs to the dodge depending on what they pick (i.e invisibility, instant recharge of melee, instant reload of weapon, increased melee range). Warlocks get no buffs to the jumps, and on top of that to be able to blink you have to pick void whilst Hunter can shift on any subclass. Blink has verticality, sure, but that doesn't mean anything when your hitbox is stretched from starting point to end point.

Listen. I'm okay with Hunters getting shift. I think they'll have a lot of fun with it, and they've been asking for it for a while. What I'm saying is that Warlocks should have their blink fixed so we can at least do the same thing as Hunters without shafting ourselves completely. I think it's the least we can ask for when we're going to be going against ape titans with damage resistance and hunters both teleporting and going invisible at the same time. Please.

Being a game about creating cool builds, i still don’t understand how we can’t save loadouts in game.

    Posted: 07 Oct 2020 04:21 PM PDT

With beyond light coming in and new features with it, i think bungie should really be giving us a way of saving a great number of our favorite builds in game. (I know Dim can save loadouts but i really hope it gets put in game in a accessible way) monster hunter world is a great example of being able to save multiple loadouts.

The past 2 years in a row now warlock have received a exotic that boost super damage

    Posted: 07 Oct 2020 05:54 PM PDT

I'm just disappointed right now because all the other classes have cool new exotics and we just get another lame exotic that does not change our gameplay in any significant way besides super damage.

Guys please stop complaining about how the new exotics are going to be "so broken" or "terrible" when we barely know anything about them.

    Posted: 07 Oct 2020 11:33 AM PDT

We don't know the numbers for these exotics and we have no clue about how they will feel. For example, with the titan overshield exotic, we have no clue how much health the shield has, so we cannot determine how good it is going to be. For the hunter blink, we haven't used it at all, and how good that exotic is is determined by how it feels, not any stat value.

Just try to enjoy the trailers for once

The recent two warlock exotics fully solidify the terrible design philosophy of warlock exotics.

    Posted: 07 Oct 2020 10:18 AM PDT

link for those who haven't seen the recent trailer.

I've noticed a pretty significant design philosophy when it comes to warlock exotics, and we've seen them pretty much every season this year at this point where it falls into two categories:

    1. Only works on super cast.
    2. Does something with melee.

Normally I wouldn't have a major problem with this, but every single exotic this year has fallen into these two categories. On top of that, these two categories are already immensely prevalent within the rest of the warlock exotic arsenal. I would think that the cool space wizards might give them cool new abilities to use... and not more melee oriented exotics or exotics that only work during the short seconds you cast your super. I wouldn't mind this if more classes had praxic fire-like abilities because at that point melee makes way more sense on warlocks and why we have so many abilities for it. But, as it stands, that isn't the case.

When you look at the titan and hunter exotics throughout the year and the current new ones, they have things that actively change the players gameplay significantly and create more options for the player to use. Hopefully people are right about there being new exotics on top of this because this is just disappointing.

Lately, I feel like I play this game more for the cosmetics than the actual gear.

    Posted: 07 Oct 2020 01:41 PM PDT

Ever since the announcement of sunsetting, I have lost the drive to do "aspirational" activities. I have lost the desire to go after god rolls. This year's Festival of the Lost event is a good example. In the previous years I would go after the auto rifles, because even though precision frames aren't good right now, they MIGHT be later on if Bungie decides to buff them. Previously, I would have played and worked towards a goal of getting that item, and even if the reward wasn't great, there was the chance it could be later. So I would throw them in my vault.

Now? I'm not going to put in the time and effort getting god rolls or chasing maxed stat gear. Cosmetics feel more valuable now than ever, simply because they do not have expiration dates. So instead of logging in for my pinnacles activities or powerful weeklies or just grinding for a specific legendary godroll, I log on more for the Bright Dust.

I'm more driven in this game to log in to earn the time gated currency so that I don't have to spend real money on Eververse stuff. And 2/3 of the core game modes that I have to play for Bright Dust, I don't actually WANT to play. It feels like a chore going through more Gambit matches and more Crucible matches that I don't want to be in, but feel compelled to simply for the weekly Bright Dust bounties.

And unfortunately, it's caused me to step away from the game more than I have in the past year or so. I'm not even that excited for Beyond Light, because although I'm sure I will enjoy the lore, the destinations, and the shiny new subclasses, this problem will likely continue for a while. I would be more excited for quality of life changes and system changes to improve the game at this point.

This isn't a "Luke Smith ruined my life" or "this game is trash" post. But I feel like the basic reward structure of the game has shifted so much recently in the wrong direction. Before sunsetting I already scrapped 99% of my legendaries. Now I don't even have the desire to play the "aspirational" activities that I previously would have. It just sucks.

    Please, Fix Warlock Melee Speed

    Posted: 07 Oct 2020 11:16 AM PDT

Warlocks are getting another melee exotic in Beyond Light (Necrotic Grips), but Bungie still hasn't fixed the reason that Warlocks only melee with celestial fire, which is because their melee is slower than the other classes, and has been since D2 launch.

Bungie increased the range by 1m to try and offset this, but it did nothing. We still lose or at best trade every melee fight we get into that doesn't involve us priming the target so we can one shot them (assuming you aren't fighting someone who's blind and somehow misses with melees in hugging distance).

Unless this new exotic is insane, everyone is just going to chuck it in the vault for good after the honeymoon period of using a new exotic wears off. Unless it's a very good exotic for the occasional melee, then it would be great.

Please for the love of the Traveler fix this, I'm sick of losing melee fights when I play Warlock and I would like to enjoy this exotic when it comes out.

EDIT: Something I've forgotten is that Warlocks have a lot more lunge to their melees now than they did in D1, so Bungie could alternatively revert this back to a more D1 style and give an extra 0.5m or something. I'm open to ideas here, but regardless the Warlock melee has been a problem for far too long and needs to be looked at.

My wife’s is not a gamer. Her maiden name is Rasmussen. Tonight, she finally found something to like in destiny.

    Posted: 07 Oct 2020 07:53 AM PDT

All it took was 673 days for me to do enough black armory and dismantle a piece of gear for her to finally be excited about me getting something in Destiny.

She also has a pretty unique first name - one that is unique enough to NEVER be on those novelty mugs at the stores - so this one was screenshot, amd sent to the entire in-laws.

Needless to say, she now demands i use the shader on everything... which is a big oof after a solid 2 years of being solely and squarely on team Melchizidek Bramble.

But thanks bungie, for the sweet little moments like this. Brought a smile to my face, and my wife's. So now my ungodly amount of hours on Destiny feels at least a little bit justified...

You can obtain all the lore from Eris in one Interference completion now

    Posted: 07 Oct 2020 11:06 PM PDT

For someone who hasn't done the interference mission in about 8 or so weeks, I kinda spoke to Eris again by accident and realized that you can just keep talking to her to get all the lore.

I don't exactly know if this is common knowledge but someone like myself just leaves at the end of the mission because what would you do for 500 seconds?

So if you don't have those lore pieces or missed some weeks (9 Lore pages for me), you can still grab them and complete the book!

Everyone is talking about how the warlock exotics suck but I can’t be the only one thinking that the hunter throwing knife exotic looks like TRASH

    Posted: 07 Oct 2020 04:36 PM PDT

Your throwing knife does more damage as you get kills, like what the hell kinda bonus is that. That throwing knife already did stupid damage to small adds and what's the point of the stagger if the target is already dead. Let alone in pve if you ever use bottom tree gunslinger it's to use celestial nighthawk. There are so many other better hunter builds for killing adds that this exotic genuinely seems worthless. Also I really doubt an extra ricochet is gonna drastically effect the pvp landscape

Using the Bungie.net Beyond Light page, we can determine what the next two trailers will be.

    Posted: 07 Oct 2020 04:39 PM PDT

    Beyond Light Page: https://www.bungie.net/7/en/Destiny/BeyondLight

If you look at the Beyond Light page's "Game" section, you'll see panels in the following order: Summary, Stasis, Europa, Gear, Era of Darkness, Raid.

This aligns with the order of trailers, with the Reveal/Gameplay Trailer, followed by the Stasis trailer, the Europa trailer, and just now the Gear trailer.

Using this, we can determine that the next trailer in two weeks (each trailer since Stasis Revenant has come out on a biweekly basis) will be a story trailer, and two weeks after that, a raid trailer.

For those curious about how to get the Ascendant Lens, it looks to be an award tied to completing the 45 cypher loot

    Posted: 07 Oct 2020 12:47 PM PDT

Without knowing the specifics on how they are doing so, streamers like khakis are farming up the cyphers pretty quick. Using Braytech's reporting system, you can see that they are somehow exploiting a chest in Spire of Stars normal. All of them have in common the 45 cypher triumph

They are zoning in a couple hundred times, looting, leaving, and repeating. This is how these players are getting the lens. If anyone can shine light on the specifics of how to glitch the chest, the rest of the community would be appreciate it

Helping people get Whisper and Outbreak Perfected has made me fall in with the game all over again.

    Posted: 07 Oct 2020 08:03 PM PDT

I am a returning guardian who hasn't played since Shadowkeep, and I have been working on getting as many of the exotics as I can, but I have also been eager to help other guardians as well, and helping so many people the last couple of weeks get their exotics they have missed out on has made me fall in love with this game again. It definitely is not without its faults and like any online games it will have its toxic players, but the sense of community and helping others is definitely something Bungie has done a good of job incorporating into the game and I appreciate Bungie for that.
