Bungie, please don’t listen to the streamers for the next raid. Posted: 25 Nov 2020 08:48 AM PST Giving us 10 days to prepare and putting it on a weekend was probably one of the best decisions in terms of day one raid experiences. For once I was able to participate due to it not being on a weekday. Even though I wasn't able to beat the raid on day one, I was still able to experience it and have fun with it. It seems that a lot more people were able to have fun with it as well since DSC has the most day one clears of any raid. Please consider doing this more often. [link] [comments] |
Bungie PLEASE Un-Sunset the Base Forsaken and Shadowkeep Weapons that we can currently get! Posted: 25 Nov 2020 12:37 PM PST Essentially the title. Not only does sun-setting these weapons hurt the loot-pool tremendously, it dissuades new people from purchasing the DLCs, as nothing from the DLCs can be used, save for a few exotics. There is no reason for a newer player to purchase Forsaken or Shadowkeep as they only get the story and the activities that reward sunset gear. The loot pool from the Dreaming City, and especially Shadowkeep (which is only 1 year old keep in mind) was not an issue in any game mode, they were just different, unique, and fun gear to go after. I can understand the need to sunset pinnacle weapons and the seasonal weapons and gear, but why the base DLC weapons? It makes no sense from any standpoint. All it does is hurt A.) Reviews (which you can already see on steam) B.) New Players interest in purchasing these campaigns and C.) The loot pool for everyone. I know it's easy to un-sunset these weapons, and I would even say get rid of the whole concept of "sun-setting" on these base DLC weapons entirely. After all why buy a DLC if there is nothing to chase, or nothing to get from it that is usable? [link] [comments] |
The “Champions defeated with Stasis damage” objective REALLY needs to be reworked/removed Posted: 25 Nov 2020 04:43 PM PST It's absolutely terrible and possibly one of the most irritating things I have ever done as a solo player. We're forced into a specific loadout, subclass, and activity as we're constantly competing with teammates as we attempt to kill some of the tougher enemies in the game. Stasis is clearly not meant for damage, yet we're forced to use it in some way to defeat champions. "Why don't you use finishers?" Well of course use finishers. It's irritating though that to complete the objective in a reasonable amount of time you must use an unintended mechanic for it. And in order to use a finisher, you have to get the champions health down to a specific point, get close to the champion, and be completely vulnerable the middle of the battlefield ALL assuming your teammate hasn't yet nuked the champion. I'm sure there's a variety of ways to fix this, like just dropping the "with Stasis damage" part or making it "Defeat Champions in strikes" where teammates give +1 points and your own kills give +2 points. Edit: For all the people commenting, "just use finishers" I know. The whole second part of this post was talking about how finishers are the only effective way to get this done, but at the same time still irritating. [link] [comments] |

Fallen raids are some of the craziest raids in destiny’s history and are in my opinion favorite Posted: 25 Nov 2020 03:08 PM PST These raids are some of the most fun filled raids that I can tell to date when it comes to atmosphere to the loot these raids really it home to me First, Atmosphere: The atmosphere of these raids is quite different compared to most raids. Other raids like vex and hive raids take to what feels like a whole new reality while fallen raids are modest and take you to pre-established locations from the golden age to the last city. WOTM takes us to the wall where we see the first glimpses besides the first missions and the khvostov quest and we see it's archaic insides. SOP brings us to a abandoned part of the last city, giving more character to a place barely explored since the end of the red war. Finally DSC brings us to a place that has been hinted at for YEARS being the deep stone crypt, the birthplace of the exos, allowing you to see a glimpse into the past and how advanced they were Second, encounters: phenomenal and exciting for many of these, with probably one of if not the greatest encounter in destiny's history and a encounter that still defined one of these raids, these are great WOTM has you face vosik where even though his mechanics are quite easy the wipe method is creative since it's very subtle unless someone's paying attention and it's overall very fair. But death zamboni, that is probably the best encounter in my opinion. You are atop the wall where you clear ads till you see it activate, then you know what's really going on. You shoot his cannons and core and climb onto the massive thing ramming into the top barriers of the wall. Now needing to be fixed because of our reckless driving, we grab the three parts while someone returns to the machine to kill the engineer. You all return and fix the vehicle, jumping off to send it off one last time. You then encounter the only raid types that do this for the most part, aksis phase 1. Battling through waves of shanks captains and servitors to prevent your team from being wiped you now fight the arachnid mess, aksis phase 2, which has the boss TELEPORTING around the arena and attacking as he so pleases till you remove his shield and only the people bless with empowerment to slam dunk his butt and secure that damage phase. I could explain all of them but the only encounters that can match the craziness and deserve the credit are SRL 2, being sent to space mid fight so that you can continue it, and literally preventing an entire moons destruction Third, Loot: now all the raids have loot that fits the theme of the enemies. Vex raids have the brass looking weapons that fit their exterior, hive have these sort of dark-magic weaponry, some even comprising of flesh and bone, last wish differs because it's a taken raid but based on location, the astral theme fits. And the cabal emperor gives us his personal arsenal to wield, giving its more regal look. But fallen weapons do differ a lot compared to them. Fallen are thieves and scavengers and so it fits that their raid weapons fit this theme. All the raid weapons in fallen raids are location based and not race based (besides anarchy) with the WOTM weapons being scavenged weapons from the city's main gun manufacturers turned siva due to there exposure inside the raid. SOP being weapons raided from the black armory vault. Finally DSP being stolen from the facility itself it seems with its high tech looks And all the raid exotics, you can't lie, don't disappoint Outbreak prime, a true quest for a powerful weapon which would see it's triumphant return in destiny 2 but from its prime it's reached perfection Anarchy, the rare drop from SOP is one of if not the best exotics in destiny 2 And eyes of tomorrow, a rare drop from DSC being compared to the most famous/ infamous exotic in the franchises history makes it something to behold Thank you for coming to my Ted talk [link] [comments] |
You hit the Warlock Stasis subclass too hard for PvE Posted: 25 Nov 2020 11:34 AM PST You have to find some kind of middle ground between the original release and its current nerfed state. I'm no longer driven to unlock the abilities for it because I'm not even interested in using it any more. The main issues are the melee and the super duration. The super burns out before I feel like I can do anything substantial with it, and the melee has become a shadow of its former self. Not only does the melee miss half of the time because it's so slow, but you have to be so close to use it that your character just ends up punching the target rather than shooting the melee in many situations. I get that it was broken in the Crucible, but the subclass needs some help on the PvE side of things. You guys must start putting more energy and consideration into balancing things like this between PvE and PvP. I know that balancing between the modes happens, but there needs to be more of it. You guys needs to nerf your nerf hammer. [link] [comments] |
Legacy ornaments should be included in Monument to Lost Lights Posted: 25 Nov 2020 06:18 PM PST Mainly the season 2/3 ornaments from faction rally, playlist activities, Iron Banner, and Trials of the Nine, as all of their quests to obtain them haven't been available since those seasons. Legacy gear serves that exact purpose. It even says weapons AND armor, but there is no armor to obtain. So, why not throw the old ornaments back in? Make the playlist stuff cost Vanguard tokens. Same applies to Crucible and Iron Banner. Trials ornaments could require flawless tokens so that the achievement of getting them isn't lost. It would look something like this https://i.imgur.com/pECXIVW.png [link] [comments] |
Non-Vex enemies that fall into Vex milk should take damage Posted: 25 Nov 2020 12:34 PM PST Small detail, but it would make the gameplay line up with the lore a little better. Vex and Fallen can already damage each other [link] [comments] |

It's Week Three of Season 12, It's About Time We Address the Space Rhino in the Room... Posted: 25 Nov 2020 02:43 PM PST Oh wait, he's not there. He's gone, he left. The fucker finally took the hint. That's right chuckletwats, the Cabal are N O T at the immediate forefront of the new seasonal content. I repeat: the Cabal have well and truly fucked off for a moment. Now we can pretend that we didn't see a Zavala/Cabal meeting go down in that trailer and the children of the city will rejoice... [link] [comments] |

You all have a very pretty game. Posted: 25 Nov 2020 10:20 AM PST I jumped in to D2 a few weeks ago with game pass never having played 1, and I'm standing here looking out at the last city and it is simply gorgeous. It reminds me of my first steps on the ring in Halo 1. The vistas in this game are just so gorgeous. I was struck also by the Tangled Shore. Also, having fun playing the game. [link] [comments] |
Don't know if it has been said. But the loot/reward structure for DSC is 99% perfect Bungie. Posted: 25 Nov 2020 03:59 AM PST We all hated getting locked out of raid loot for a week. We always wanted to grind more and more to get that god roll. But now we have a way to grind for loot without being restricted to what ever drops you recieved that week. Prophecy was a good starting point, but DSC steps it up to something that I would love to see going forward. The ability to constantly grind the raid for Spoils and turn them in for your chosen weapon or armour piece at the end is balanced perfectly where we are not showered with loot drops, but as well respects the time of the grind for players. By completing a repeated run for the week, it will net you 20 spoils that you can spend on one piece of gear (5 per encounter). You can keep grinding the full run of the raid to get that god roll weapon, without having to wait a whole week. Sure it might suck that you have to run the WHOLE raid. But that is a fair compromise for us so Bungie can give us an avenue to constantly grind for a god roll. Ontop of that, the raid cosmetics are tied to triumphs. Do the pike section triumph to get the sparrow, collect the lore to get the Ghost. No more RNG, just do those triumphs. Whilst the exotic is only tied to once a week drops from the final chest. This is still good. This allows the rarity of the weapon to be coveted still. Like those Gally or 1K moments when it finally drops for you (86 runs for an anarchy and I was so happy when it happened) I honestly wouldn't expect anything different from the raid going foward when it comes to loot structure as this is great. Only thing I would recommend is dropping a Heroic/Contest mode that nets double the spoils. Giving a full suite of weapons (that has been a consistant trend lately when archtypes are missing) and as well giving those with bad rng an avenue to acquire the exotic through a flawless completion of the raid. Posted: 25 Nov 2020 09:36 AM PST With Voidwalker, you eat your grenade to get Devour. With Dawnblade, you eat your grenade to get Heat Rises. With Stormcaller, you eat your grenade (with Getaway Artist) to summon an Arc Soul. Shadebinders don't have a way to eat their grenades. Does the Darkness encourage fasting? How can we wield Stasis without a balanced grenade diet? We need an exotic in Season 13 that lets us s c r o n c h our Stasis grenades. [link] [comments] |
Since I haven't seen it yet, HAPPY BIRTHDAY DMG Posted: 25 Nov 2020 12:59 AM PST I read on his Twitter (I'll add it in an edit) that he's turning 30 today! So I just want everyone to say Happy birthday to the Mans himself. Also, for any of my fellow Stateside Guardians, have a wonderful Thanksgiving! Posted: 25 Nov 2020 05:46 AM PST I've captured the changes Bungie announced yesterday in my latest version of my viable weapons infographic. TL/DR: We had 30 weapons in the world loot pool to start Season of the Hunt [S12]. Yesterday's changes means we now have 40 weapons in the pool. Nice! But at the start of next season [S13], we'll probably only have 30 weapons in the pool again. And 25 of those will be removed at the start of S14. The current pool is heavily stacked with weapons from S11 (Arrivals), and unless many are replaced at a consistent pace, the world loot pool will continue to pose a problem for us and Bungie. Rest of Post: Players had their feedback heard by Bungie, who implemented changes to the world loot pool in yesterday's patch. There are some consequences to this in terms of weapon availability though. Bungie's patch notes say:
To review where this gets us, here's the math:
That means we'll have 40 weapons in the pool for the rest of the season. That's better than before. But this sets a precedent that Bungie will have to stick to - removing weapons from the world loot pool when the weapon's final season of viability arrives. That means that the Seventh Seraph weapons we'll be able to get this season will be usable next season, but won't be obtainable from world loot drops. So looking at the math for next season, working from the 40 weapons we'll have in the pool going into the season:
For those reasons, next season I expect we'd have about 30 weapons in the pool again, like we did to start this season. They'll just be more recently released in the game. But 25 of those will have been released in Season of Arrivals [S11]. Which means they'll be removed from the world loot pool at the start of S14. Unless S13 adds 25 new seasonal weapons which join the world loot pool in S14, we're going to have a significant decrease in world loot weapons in that season. Most likely, if Bungie is planning to close that gap, they probably can't do it with even mostly new weapons. I'd expect a lot more reprisals, and even straight up reissues, in the next season or two to fill out the pool. But their current stack of weapons from S11 presents a real problem of balancing the timing of weapon releases. If they could get to a place where they're adding a consistent amount of weapons each season to the pool (probably at least 10 or so), then these issues would recede. But yesterday's changes only exacerbated the coming cliff for the world loot pool in S14. [link] [comments] |
Enemies should still take D.O.T. Damage while frozen to make Necrotic Grip feel more viable Posted: 25 Nov 2020 09:59 PM PST Title. Really hoping this gets a ton of upvotes and Bungie's attention. I got those new gauntlets and they feel great... but anytime an enemy is frozen, the DOT damage stops and the effect stops spreading. It feels contradictory to introduce a cool new exotic for warlocks that is pretty instantly nullified by the new elemental subclasses. So many people are going to be using stasis and that really limits my ability to get value out of this exotic. I run strikes and enemies are constantly losing the poison effect because of stasis from allies. Not to mention it works against me using stasis instead of synergizing with it, if I want to use both stasis and necrotic grip. I feel it should be working WITH stasis and not against it.
