[Spoiler] Our Guardian has a secret.

    Posted: 29 Dec 2019 06:21 PM PST

Allow me to ask you a question.

Why is our Guardian so powerful? Our list of accolades is impressive to say the least.

Crota, Oryx, The Heart of the Black Garden, Aetheon, the Undying mind in every timeline ever, Xol, other miscellaneous hive demi-gods... you know where I'm going with this.

Why am I telling you this? You were there. You know.

But the greatest question never asked is simply... Why? Why are we this strong? Some Ghost would have passed our dead body in the Cosmodrome of Old Russia and immediately noticed we something special. Majestic even.

Why did it take centuries for our ghost to find us and then for us effectively save the universe in such a short time later. In the time-scale a guardian lives for, we accomplish so much while we are still effectively babies. Our light has barely had time to grow by the time we slay the heart. We are walking and speaking our first words by the time we part a sword between Crota's eyes. Oryx is bested by what is effectively a guardian toddler. It cannot be stressed enough how ridiculously powerful we are by the time the SIVA outbreak really hits us.

Yet, guardians who have been around for as long as there has been guardians look up to US, the child prodigy. If a ghosts can see the light on a dead body, we should have been a bright and shinning beacon for the world to see when the first ghosts were released. We should have already been there with the Iron lords and forged the Last City from the ashes of humanity.

But instead, when the world is on the brink of succumbing to the weight, we rise.

We should have been found in Old Russia long before any major post collapse event happened. But we never were.

That is because we were not in Old Russia until after The Great Ahamkara Hunt. We are not Human or Exo or Awoken. Our Guardian is actually the first and only risen Wish Dragon.

From when we are raised, until now we have fulfilled the wishes of every single person we have come in contact with. It started with our Ghost who wished for us to go to the tower and help save the traveler.

The Exo Stranger wishes for us slay the Heart in the Black Garden. We make it so.

The Awoken Queen wishes for us to kill Skolas. He falls.

Eris wishes for us to end Crota. He dies.

The Vanguard wish for us to stop Oryx. We kill him twice.

Ikora wishes for vengeance for Cayde... an unnecessary wish, but granted non-the-less.

You see the picture before us. We are not normal for a guardian. We are a wish dragon, granting wishes and growing in power.

But now that the Winnower has wished for us to become the final shape, will we grant it as we have all else? Our first and main wish was to save the Traveler. But Ahamkara use the space between words.

What say you; O, Believer mine?

Having the Lunar Shell and the Scourge of the Past sparrow basically renders all other Ghosts and Sparrows useless to me. Bungie, please give Ghost Shells and Sparrows the Armor 2.0 treatment.

    Posted: 29 Dec 2019 07:56 AM PST

I'm not gonna lie, I hate the look of both the Lunar Shell and the Scourge Sparrow. The only reason I use them is because of the combination of perks that make them so good.

    • Guiding Light (all XP gains increased by 10%) is basically a must if you want to have any efficiency leveling up the artifact or the season pass.

    • Speed Demon + the Scourge of the Past Sparrow is an amazing combination. Being able to insta-summon a sparrow that has Stealth Running (enemies are less aggressive towards you while riding this Sparrow), an additional boost charge, AND Improved Assembler (shorter cooldown after your sparrow breaks) is the ultimate combination.

This would be a much larger issue if the drop rates of the Scourge sparrow weren't so ridiculously low. I guarantee to everyone here that if the Scourge sparrow weren't so rare that it'd be at the top of the complaint list that Lunar Shell + Scourge sparrow is the only thing that anyone would ever have to use.

I believe that if Ghost shells and Sparrows were given the Armor 2.0 treatment, this wouldn't be much of a problem. Yes the perk combinations would still be the exact same, but if Bungie wanted to nerf this combination then they could simply increase the energy cost of one of the perks (Guiding Light probably makes sense). Being able to put whatever mods you want on any Shell or Sparrow would grant more of a variety for someone like me who is stuck with 1 ghost shell and 1 sparrow. Besides, it would give me some incentive to buy the cool looking shells from Eververse.

Fun Fact: if you don't read the quest and simply follow the map marker to find Saint-14's Ghost, it takes you directly to the Forge on Nessus.

    Posted: 29 Dec 2019 07:41 PM PST

Ask me how long I poked around at the Forge. Oof.

Towerthought: Saint-14 doesn't have entire set of weapons made to his honor, they're just alternate scenarios of Perfect Paradox from different timelines

    Posted: 29 Dec 2019 09:54 AM PST

For example in alternate universe we didn't craft a shotgun for Saint-14, but a Grenade Launcher... boom, Martyr's Retribution, pulled from that timeline.

Dear Bungie, If you're going to give me any arbitrary reward for giving npcs gifts can it not be blues?

    Posted: 29 Dec 2019 02:17 PM PST

I'm just saying if I'm turning in things I'd rather not get blue loot. Not to say that I want something extraordinary but the blues just make me do a hell of a lot of inventory management. I'd rather get one planetary material or 200 glimmer or something very small and trivial that makes me not have to waste time deleting blues.

Wouldn't it be cool to patrol just outside the city wall?

    Posted: 29 Dec 2019 10:58 AM PST

    • Taking out the stray Fallen and aggressive captains who dare venture nearby.
    • Discovering what they carry as quest items to venture into their lairs and ketches, or even their home world.
    • Lining up double Fallen agents to receive intelligence for Ikora.

    What else?

    Anti-Barrier? More like Anti-Fun

    Posted: 29 Dec 2019 04:28 PM PST

Bungie, I understand you wanna shake up the weapon usage each season(thus far) but the champions system and mods to counter their effects being only on specific weapons per season is not a good system for one. Sure, you might pull out that scout rifle you never really use anymore, but you know what really gets screwed in this whole system?

    Exotic weapons.

There's absolutely zero reason to use exotic weapons(outside of the ones that specifically counter it as their specialty like Eriana's Vow) when you need to cover unstoppable/barrier/overload, especially barrier considering the champions will fully heal if said barrier isn't broken.

If you're going to make specific weapons have the respective mod each season, then at least allow the exotic weapons that are in the same category be allowed to use said mods. Graviton Lance with anti-barrier could be neat, or Sweet Business with Overload could help debuff the enemies' damage, etc. Even Symmetry's alternate fire mode worked with staggering unstoppable things until that was bugfixed.

What I learned burning through all lost sectors in one day:

    Posted: 29 Dec 2019 11:03 PM PST

Some bounties (kill Cabal) are easier than others (Leviathan, infinite Cabal).

Online I found resources that tell us what to find in each lost sector, but not how many. What's the fastest way to kill, say, Fallen if you don't know where the most of them are?

So I loaded up my trusty Masterworked sidearm, noted the kill counter, and took a tour today.

I tried to keep the counts as accurate as possible, but there is a great deal of variance when dealing with Scorn that explode when they die or Taken Scions that multiply. Your mileage may vary, ditto if you make use of Firefly, exploding barrels, etc.

I also included two areas that aren't proper lost sectors, but are farming opportunities. Quitter's Well in the Tangled Shore has a cluster of Scorn. The Vex Gate in Lunar Battlegrounds is a very good Vex source, better than any Vex Lost Sector.

Here are the areas with the highest numbers by race followed by the full list:

Fallen - Moon, Hellmouth, K1 Crew Quarters - 78 Fallen
Fallen - Moon, K1 Logistics - 76 Fallen (seems Captain heavy)
    Hive - Moon, Sorrow's Harbor, K1 Revelation - 109 Hive
(I need to recheck this one, seems absurdly higher than the others)
Vex - (Moon, Lunar Battlegrounds, Vex Gate - 63 Vex)
    Vex - Mercury, Pariah's Refuge - 56 Vex
    Cabal - (Leviathan, Infinite)
Cabal - EDZ, Sunken Isles, The Quarry - 42 Cabal
Taken - Dreaming City, Rheasilvia, Chamber of Starlight 54 Taken*
Scorn - Bay of Drowned Wishes - 39 Scorn* (Screeb heavy)
If you can figure out a way to farm Screeb without them killing everything around them, this could be resource rich, but they tend to cluster. Which is great for grenade kills though.

Be careful when opening your presents, or how I lost 146 mod components.

    Posted: 29 Dec 2019 06:34 PM PST

I know we all love giving out cookies and seeing a present in return is always exciting. But here is my tale of woe to tell you to be careful when opening them.

After giving out my cookies to Baeda-1 and waifu Failsafe, I decided to open the gifts they gave me in return in hopes of a better Avalanche roll.

So I get to work opening them and lo and behold, one of them drops an upgrade material! This would've been exciting, if I was paying attention.

Instead my inventory was shifted over and in my absent mindedness I didn't notice that instead of opening a present, I dismantled 146 mod components.

Disbelief! Shaders dismantle one by one, but my mod components were gone in one fell swoop! Happy Dawning to me I guess :(

TL;DR : Inventory shifting around is a thing, and mod components dismantle as a stack. Please change this Bungie.

What was so wrong with Crucible, Vanguard ranks and weapon quartermasters?

    Posted: 29 Dec 2019 10:15 AM PST

In D1 I really enjoyed grinding crucible to earn legendary marks and rank up packages exclusively for crucible, then being able to check each week for god rolls on the vanguard or crucible quartermaster weapons. I get annoyed by the lack of agency over doing activities I like doing and being able to get rewards I can control. I don't understand why they took this away? I don't want my millionth crucible handgun, I want to be able to choose what I'm working towards, the quartermasters allowed you to do that!

The new seasonal model and everything post shadowkeep is missing the magic forsaken had

    Posted: 29 Dec 2019 01:44 PM PST

I don't know what happened. They made it so you could grind the game more and get more interesting armor. Maybe the activities aren't as engaging. Maybe the seasonal model just make me prioritize things I don't find as fun. Maybe its that bounties have replaced the gameplay loop from last year. Maybe I'm just burnt out on destiny. Does anyone else find some of that magic missing?

Alright Bungie, seasonal mod slots and armor affinity are bad. It makes me want to grind for gear even less.

    Posted: 29 Dec 2019 07:04 PM PST

Armor 2.0 brought to the table some good things like random stat rolls and the ability to slot mods infinitely..

    But then there's the bad:

Elemental Armor affinity: no one likes this, It's an artificial limiter to builds which is more tedious than it is useful. It is not fun having to basically get 3 of each armor set you use (every season)

    And the ugly:

seasonal mod slots: This basically (kind of) voids any past season armor you have by basically making one of its slots completely useless after the season is ended. This is terrible. Seasonal mod slots should be universal and should never be limited to a certain season.

I hope armor 2.0 gets the changes it needs sooner rather than later, because right now, I don't even care to grind for the sets I want because of armor affinity and seasonal mod slots.

A while ago, I made a woodcut of my boyfriend's Titan for him. I've returned with my Hunter

    Woodcut Arcstrider Destiny https://imgur.com/gallery/YgtLh8v

This is kinda like a continuation of this previous image from quite a while ago.

Yeah, I have no idea where my hunter is that we can see the moon like that. I did it for aesthetics lol

Thank you bungie for such a fun game, and to the community for being so kind and supportive.

    Happy New year, y'all.

EDIT: Wow, elf train AND silver?!? Thank you so much!!!

Linear Fusion Rifles should use Special ammo instead of Heavy

    Posted: 29 Dec 2019 02:41 PM PST

Pretty much the title. Linear Fusions are basically snipers but with an extra charge time, for the low low cost of heavy ammo. They offer no reason to replace rocket launchers, grenade launchers, or even machine guns. DPS wise it's not great, and pvp wise its far from meta.

(yeah I know arbalest exists, but its an exotic so it don't count)

Non-PvE guy uses Companion App and for the first time isn't stoned to death by fireteam

    Posted: 28 Dec 2019 11:59 PM PST

EDIT: Thanks for the awards folks, so kind of you.

Dramatic title for extra flair. Eerily accurate though. Usually.

So, I'm a pvp god* that has slowly branched into more pve content. I actually enjoy grinding for weapons and misc things like sparrows and emblems versus getting bagged by shit TTV players and players that have 15k kills on their Dust Rocks from time to time.

Anyway, I fire up Companion App and search raids. I've always wanted to do SotP but literally have 3 D2 friends that are reliably on. The first post says, "SotP first try, new ok". I sweat as I hit join. I get an invite instantly and the guy asks how I'm doing.

    Trap I ask myself?

Why isn't there any echo from this guy playing with audio coming from his television and also through his headset? Now I'm scared.

He tells me that he has 4 more, they are joining. Low and behold each person joins in a timely manner and everyone has mics. Christmas again?

Everyone is pretty quiet admittedly. Like first date awkward. There is a positive feeling in the air but you need to fit the pieces together to open up.

We load into the first area on top of the building and one guy asks, "anyone know what we're doing?" We unanimously answer, no.

The next 4 hours were nothing but laughing and enjoyment from everyone learning how to do this raid. Friend requests were sent. People subbed their friends in when they had to leave instead of just exiting party like total dicks.

Overall such a great experience that I felt compelled to share it in a poorly written post via mobile. Hoping I didn't use all my lives up on Companion App with this one.

    *not an actual pvp god

**Anarchy was not obtained by the way. The only thing you heathens really want to know anyway.

When you make a claim, you've gotta follow through.

    Posted: 29 Dec 2019 04:09 AM PST

Much like many others, I've had no luck getting Anarchy despite numerous raids over the course of the last year.

Some others, on the other hand, have had the gun drop for them numerous times. My clan mate is one of these people.

A while ago, after his third Anarchy I made the agravated claim that I'd delete my Titan if he got another one before I did.

I'm sure you can guess where this is going.

    Goodnight, Sweet Prince.

TIL an armor stat max out at +42. Adding another mod doesn't do anything

    Posted: 29 Dec 2019 01:53 PM PST

Masterworking these legs and adding traction doesn't add anything to the already +42 mobility stat

Bungie, if you want to sell ghosts through eververse that's cool. But make all of the exotic ghosts she sells into ornaments.

    Posted: 29 Dec 2019 10:11 AM PST

This would tie into your current system set up perfectly, and draw MORE people to ever verse and make it more profitable. It would also let players play with the ghost they WANT over only the ghost with the perks they NEED.

This would make me far more likely to buy verse ghosts/ornaments. You would have EARNED 10$ from me for the harpy ghost if it was an ornament or had speed demon/guiding light. To bad that it didn't and earned it self being skipped for example.

    Small Request Bungie

    Posted: 29 Dec 2019 09:51 AM PST

I'm not here to complain about any issues, however I do have a very minor suggestion that I'd appreciate just for the wholesomeness of it. Saint 14 has a line where if Idle around him he'll ask you to give the man a hug. Please add the prompt where you can do that for him if he asks. The man probably needs one after all the horrible acts he's seen.

One of my favorite clips I've ever made. Was grinding sentry stuff for reckoner last night when a titan wearing a full invader set thought tried to rob some motes. I decided I needed to live up to the sentry name and defend my bank. Shout out to my random teammates who all hopped in to help out! I hope I made the drifter proud...

We want Cosmodrome dungeon (like shattered throne or pit of heresy)

    Posted: 29 Dec 2019 12:06 AM PST

I think that bungie should make more dungeons with exclusive loot (we really need dungeon armor ornaments), secret triumphs, unique mechanics and also we need a hard-to-get shaders from those activities.
