Bungie Plz Addition: Add Trials of the Nine Weapons to the Prophecy Loot Pool

    Hello Guardians,

This topic has been added to Bungie Plz.
Going forward, all posts suggesting this change will be removed and redirected to this Megathread.

Also, some of the community will be upset that their trophies from the 'dark times' of Destiny 2 are no longer special (likely why Bungie hasn't taken any visible steps towards this addition)."

Bungie, the Spider entrance barriers have never actually done their job.. could they just be removed?

    Posted: 14 Dec 2020 04:30 PM PST

You know what I'm talking about. They only serve as a very small hindrance.

But obviously they aren't the only obstacle that doesn't really obstruct that well.

Honestly, Sparrows are awesome and I'd love to be able to go to more places with them in general - especially when it's situations like these where you can't really exploit moving faster in any way, it's just a vendor.

    I've made a huge mistake.

    Posted: 14 Dec 2020 10:18 AM PST

I'm a super mega alpha D1 gamer man (jk I jumped on the hype train during the great content drought of the taken spring). My wife has always mocked my love of this game. Ever since she watched me fail for hours at Calus on Leviathan week one, every time I turn on the game she yells at me "get your psion, get your psion!" Very funny babe, now I'll never forget the trauma of getting sucked into giant Calus with my double primaries.

Fast forward to now, I snagged a PS5 and got the update. I jokingly asked my wife if she wanted to roll a character. She was in a charitable mood, and said yes. It was fun watching her get murdered in new light, and spend an hour on the jumping puzzle to get Riskrunner.

Little did I know I had made a monster. Now I go upstairs after a workout, or come home from work, or get up in the morning, and want to play my new shiny PS5. Nope. Not happening. My wife is too busy hunting down Uldren Sov and wondering who Cayde 6 was. She's too busy exploring the Dreaming City. And you know what? She even has gotten good enough to beat some strikes.

At first I thought this was great. Unfortunately now I've realized I've made a huge mistake. My wife is now a 1089 Awoken Hunter first, and I am backseat alpha gamer man.

EDIT: Only other award I've ever got in my life was a most improved trophy for little league soccer. I was still the worst on the team. Thanks y'all!

If You’re Teaching Glitches for People’s First Clear You’re a Bad Sherpa

    Posted: 14 Dec 2020 11:13 AM PST

First time some friends and I did Garden of Salvation we weren't exactly clear what was going on during the final encounter because there was some arcane weirdness with the amount of motes and portals. In hindsight our "sherpa" was going in as a third person then glitching a spawn for more motes.

We ran it ourselves the other night and were really annoyed with how different the actual encounter is when it's done correctly. Which is the thing we wanted to learn.

E: Reading comments, explaining some glitches after a main clear can make sense. But it's really frustrating and cheapens the experience to learn a cheese on the first go.

When I Grind Iron Banner I Expect to Get...y’know... Iron Banner Loot!

    Posted: 14 Dec 2020 03:17 AM PST

I've been playing Iron Banner regularly since Tuesday, and I can't get over how frustrating it is to win a match, only to get either 3 blues, random useless legendaries, or on some cases nothing. I think over all, I've gotten 5 iron banner weapons with garbage rolls from winning match drops. I enjoy grinding IB for the pinnacle bounties, but I'd like to actually get Iron Banner loot for playing the game mode. Either my RNG is THAT bad, or Bungie needs to quit being stingy and give better chances for loot in an endgame PvP activity, absolutely ridiculous.

holy shit this got a lot of attention. As an endnote, at the end of the day I'm just some cunt crying that I didn't get good stuff, I just wanted to vent and I'm glad lots of you can relate. I've been enjoying replying to some cool suggestions here and there. Overall, thanks for being chill guys! Stay safe!

    I love this game

    Posted: 14 Dec 2020 08:52 AM PST

I little context. I have been playing destiny since the taken king but only recently have really started grinding for gear and stuff. The only other raid I had done up to this point was Crota (but I got carried through and didn't do anything)

This past Saturday I was doing nightfalls with a couple friends and we were talking about the DSC raid. I told them I would like to do it but was a bit nervous about the mechanics and stuff. They convinced to join a first clear learning raid lfg. This was my first experience with a Sherpa so I was a bit nervous because of other stories I had read on this sub.

This guy was great though. It amazed me how he made sure everyone had a role and felt included. He explained all of the mechanics and then fielded questions. He even went out of his way to get us ghost shell and pike triumphs along with all the secret chests. This guy was also super chill, even when one member lost connection in the second encounter. We finished in just under two hours and I overall had a great experience.

The raid was also beautiful. One of the main reasons I haven't stopped playing destiny all this time was because the lore and story was amazing. Being able to see the DSC in person was cool and all but the space walk was what really hit me.

After I logged off that night, I thought about destiny for a while. Even through company changes, shitty content releases, and stupid bugs, Bungie has managed to create and keep alive (for the most part) a game that has provided me and countless others with meaningful experiences that have led to lots of friendships, stories, and memories. Thanks bungo

TLDR: raids cool, sherpas are cool, Destiny as a game is pretty cool

We get a bright engram every 5 levels past 100 in the season pass but how about enhancement cores or a prism or two in between those 5 levels?

    Posted: 14 Dec 2020 04:08 AM PST

It would be beneficial and fill in those empty gaps in leveling. Doesn't need to be much. A core or two and then a prism at the 4th level before our engram.

If you are not spec'd for Warmind cells, please do not shoot the cells

    Posted: 14 Dec 2020 08:27 AM PST

Unless I've been misled by people here, shooting the warmind cells when not have any warmind mods equip doesn't really do anything besides get rid of the cell. Where as if you at least have the extended reach mod, it will at least cause damage to enemies.

So, until Bungie updates it to work off of the mods of the person who created it, please refrain from shooting them.

Few time saving tips for Dawning.

    Posted: 14 Dec 2020 10:28 PM PST

Go save a pic of the wish wall combo to Riven in your phone. Riven was a cookie recipient last year so having the wish ready is helpful. Shuro chi combo might also be good to have on hand too if you need to gather some taken butter.

If you are new to this, make sure to read the description for how to get various cookie ingredients. Some like the enemy ones are obvious, but if you never use rockets or GLs and run low on explosive flavor you'll need to consider running one for a bit.

On the topic of cookies, vets be sure to mess one up for xur.

Stock up on glimmer now. Cookie bounties are crazy fast exp if you have ingredients on hand but you need to be able to keep buying them for 3k a piece.

You may get a bounty to give Shaw Han a cookie, just ditch it. He doesn't deserve one damn thing and every time he gets a cookie Atraks 1 replicates again.

Deep Stone Crypt Guided Games BROKEN

    Posted: 14 Dec 2020 09:45 PM PST

So my clan mates and I have over 100 completions of the new raid and along the way we have helped many new players through the LFG to get their first completion. After a while we asked ourselves "why aren't we doing guided games for the Triumphs and Emblems", so we decided to give it a shot and see if it was worth going into guided games anymore.

To our surprise we ran into no problems with matchmaking for another guardian and were almost instantly put into the raid to teach a new player.

After running the first encounter we noticed nobody was getting any rewards but we decided it must be a glitch and kept going. After about 2 hours of teaching encounters and working through the raid we finally beat Taniks, and yet again there was no loot to be gathered.

At this point we speculated this may be an intentional thing from Bungie as to give players a place to learn with less consequence with the sacrifice of loot. But when we got to orbit we discovered that the raid did not even count as a guided game completion so we received no Triumphs or Emblems.

BUNGIE PLEASE FIX THIS!! It was a total waste of time for the entire fireteam when we could have just loaded up a normal raid and we all would have received loot.

You know, I was just thinking, the gunplay in Destiny 2 is really good.

    Posted: 14 Dec 2020 08:39 AM PST

I have been a fps enthusiast since Doom was released in '93. I have played a ton of them. Twitch-based, rpg, looters. I must say Destiny 2's gunplay is in my top 5 of all time. Nothing tops Id Software, they do it the best. Borderlands second. F.E.A.R. series gunplay is amazing. Destiny 2 next followed by Unreal.

Among all the aspects and mechanics in Destiny 2 gunplay is often overshadowed. It feels really good to have a weapon in our guardians hands. Well done Bungie.

Bungie knocked it so hard out of the park with the Variks/Europa reward system that it feels like a no-brainer to incorporate it with Vanguard/Crucible/Gambit/Banner.

    Posted: 14 Dec 2020 09:08 AM PST

I wouldn't even be mad if they were reset each season, with new/random(ish) objectives each time to upgrade each tier. I could see myself enjoying that grind if the final set of rewards were similar to Variks' weapon-specific quests as well. Looking at you, Iron Banner.

The artifact is the perfect way to solve the issue of 'almost full' stats

    Posted: 14 Dec 2020 12:22 AM PST

We have made some progress on this front with the half stat mods, but we really need the way to fine tune and fill in armor stat gaps.

I present to you: Stat Point Allocation based on Artifact Level in 2 easy steps

    1) For every point of bonus power level you get from the artifact, you can allocate 1 extra point to a given stat.

    2) For every 5 levels, you can take a stat point away from one slot, and put it somewhere else.

By the end of the season, you end up being able to smooth out most of your stat points, and even flat add a level if your points are doing alright otherwise. If this is too much, make it 1 stat point for every 2 levels.

Critically, you can reallocate these points however you want, for each new build

This is all MS paint, and I'm no UI design expert, but here's what I'm talking about:

Obviously there should be an interface on each section to show how many stat points are there from your armor, and how many the artifact is adding, so you can adjust accordingly, but the point is you get 20ish points to round out your stat totals. What do you guys think?

Edit: fixing my 3am grammar and spelling

We need weapons of each element available in the loot pool.

    Posted: 14 Dec 2020 07:05 AM PST

As we start this next week, the empire hunt will return to Phylaks, the warrior, and an important issue returns to the forefront.

This Empire hunt contains Overload Champions, and primarily Arc shields; there is only one Arc Scout Rifle (to run overload scout) that isn't sunset and that is an exotic (Symmetry) The last time a legendary scout had an arc elemental was in Season of the Forge, almost 2 years ago.

I did not receive a Claws of the Wolf this season in IB (and I'm not sure it's available) but there are very few void pulse rifles available (Last Perdition being rerolled recently).

The bottom line is, that if the loot pool will not contain a new X weapon of Y element, then the existing guns in the pool should be re-released with a new perk pool. Adding Cut and Run back into the loot pool would have cost nothing, and filled an important gap.

If match game is going to remain an important component of the end-game content, there must be elemental weapons of every type and every element available and usable.

EDIT: Or, if there is no desire to do so, or it is not feasible to re-release a single weapon from the loot pool, revert to the year one ability to swap a legendary weapons elemental subclass by buying a mod at the gunsmith.

The Officially Unofficial New Light Experience

First of all, HUGE credit to u/CakeorDeath1989 and this post. [Please give it a read for Context].

The goal was simple; create a fun and inviting space for all of our New Lights. I wanted to make somewhere where they could go to get help with game mechanics, learn about lore, or just find a guide for a strike or two. The subreddit is r/NewLightDestiny, with clans in the works. I have also started a clan, and will accept anyone who wants to be a mentor or mentee. Spread the message far and wide; Operation: Guiding Light is now active.

Ikora should have a dlc of her own

    Posted: 14 Dec 2020 10:22 AM PST

I play destiny since the beta of destiny 1 and never, NEVER SEEN IKORA DO ANYTHING, while cayde had literally a dlc on his own and was the favorite vanguard member of the 3, zavala gives bounties exotic quest and his dialogues are all over the strikes and the tower(im looking at you ship between zavala and holiday) and he achieved meme status level, Ikora simply lacks any kind of personality and the only content were she was portrayed as a character (io storyline and mercury) is now removed she kinda seem worthless she doesn't have anything to say. The icing on top is the fact that she canonicaly beat the shit out of shaxx and was the only one that could do it, she is one of the strongest guardians if not the strongest and she just stands in a usless part of the tower whitout quest stuff to buy or lines to say.

Im sorry for the rant but bungie had this awesome plot and story for this character on his hands for so long and simply decide to make it blank and whitout personality.
