Focused Feedback: Stasis Class Spotlight- Shadebinder

    Posted: 30 Nov 2020 07:36 AM PST

    Hello Guardians,

Focused Feedback is where we take the week to focus on a 'Hot Topic' discussed extensively around the Tower.

We do this in order to consolidate Feedback, to get out all your ideas and issues surrounding the topic in one place for discussion and a source of feedback to the Vanguard.

This Thread will be active until next week when a new topic is chosen for discussion

Whilst Focused Feedback is active, ALL posts regarding the Shadebinder Subclass following its posting will be removed and re-directed to this thread. Exceptions to this rule are as follows: New information / developments, Guides and general questions

Any and all Feedback on the topic is welcome.

Regular Sub rules apply so please try to keep the conversation on the topic of the thread and keep it civil between contrasting ideas

A Wiki page - Focused Feedback - has also been created for the Sub as an archive for these topics going forward so they can be looked at by whoever may be interested or just a way to look through previous hot topics of the sub as time goes on.

Bungie please consider configuring Banshee so that he doesn’t have both Upgrade Modules require mats from vaulted destinations.

    Posted: 30 Nov 2020 12:34 PM PST

Basically title. I'm a day one player, but in anticipation of vaulted content, I spent all my mats that were going away. Now I'm looking at Banshee and for the second day this week, I can't buy upgrade module due to not having the mats.

Of course any New Light player would be in the same predicament.

Seems like a silly oversight and hopefully a quick fix!

Bungie, give us more missions in space.

The sound, the visuals, the everything was so impressive and executed perfectly.

I dream of the day when we finally see Variks and Mithrax in the Tower, perhaps as vendors or just wandering around. Especially Mithrax.

    Posted: 30 Nov 2020 04:03 PM PST

Bungie pls. Mithrax deserves to be in the Tower, he has done his best to unify his species under the Light of the Traveler, perhaps one day.

DSC raid gear stats shouldn't be below 60

    Posted: 30 Nov 2020 05:02 PM PST

Just what it says on the tin.

I currently own warlock Legacy Oath boots with a whopping 52 points, I believe my highest drop across all characters has been 64, still lower than the season pass freebies and engram stats I've received.

It's pinnacle gear from a raid, 60 stat distribution should be the minimum, weighting encounter drops with slightly higher points (if possible).

Other than that I enjoy the raid, the addition of raid mod slots across the board, and final chest loot system, even if after 120 tokens I haven't got a new piece from the 'encounter' selection.

Just to reiterate, PAID DLC WEAPONS AND ARMOR SHOULD NEVER SUNSET.

    Posted: 30 Nov 2020 08:10 AM PST

Seasonal stuff, while still lame go ahead and sunset 3-4 season later, but actual DLC content and gear should NEVER SUNSET. What's the point of even having those locations in the game if they're useless?

Just to put things into perspective... The Strike Playlist from Destiny 1

    Posted: 30 Nov 2020 04:07 AM PST

Just to put things into a little perspective. By playing the Strike Playlist in Destiny 1...

Earn Strike specific loot for all Strikes - Imago Loop, Barons Ambition, Grasp of Malok, Hood of Malok, Darkblades Spite, Taniks Cloak, Devils Dawn and so on...

Earn Random Legendaries exclusive to the Strike Playlist - Hopscotch Pilgrim etc. Sure we have Xenoclast for example, but if they intend of bringing more weapons in future seasons, Xenoclast will be near or at its expiration date with sunsetting.

Earn Random cosmetics like ships in the loot pool, these were SECONDARY drops and had no influence on actual strike specific loot, or end of game loot drops in general.

As a bonus, normal strikes had the possibility of Exotics dropping at end of playlist strikes. Just a possibility, a rare one but it was there.

Playing Strikes ranked up your Vanguard Reputation

Ranking up the Vanguard allowed you to choose between Weapons or Armor

    We actually had Factions

Playing Strikes simultaneously ranked up your Faction of choice (Dead Orbit, New Monarchy, FWC)

Ranking up your Faction allowed you to choose between Weapons or Armor

Just by even playing the game playing you were getting Legendary Engrams, which in turn could be given to Rahool, increasing your Cryptarch reputation thus rewarding more Legendary Engrams on rank up.

By playing you were earning Legendary Marks (although capped) allowed you to purchase weapons/armor from all vendors on a weekly cadence, all of which had random rolls on Tuesday's reset. This was something to look forward to.

Old Strikes were somewhat updated with Taken and SIVA to tie into newer story lines. Somehow we still have Cayde-6 narrating strikes, a character who died two years ago and majority of his storyline tied to DCV with the Red War. Who was Cayde-6 before he died to a Destiny newcomer?

Now to tie it all into one big picture... The Dark Below, House of Wolves, Taken King, Rise of Iron (or any content drop for that matter) refreshed the loot pool with NEW weapons and armor for the Vanguard, Crucible, Dead Orbit, New Monarchy and Future War Cult. Full loot pool, the only stuff that was reissued was fan favourites that got left behind in Year 1 as they "lacked an infusion node" introduced in The Taken King. Vendor refreshes gives not only Strikes, but every playlist a facelift (keyword) and made you actually want to play the game!!!

Please make us able to buy an ascendant shard with an exotic cipher

    Posted: 30 Nov 2020 06:35 AM PST

    Currently ascendant shards cost

    -50,000 glimmer

    -10 enhancement prisms

    -100 planetary materials

This is already super expensive so I think adding another means of purchasing ascendant shards would be very helpful to many players.

It would also be very balanced because ciphers can be used to buy exotics from the kiosk, and can be earned once a week, meaning players would not exclusively hoard ascendant shards because there are other competing things to buy with them.

So in conclusion an ascendant shard would cost

    -50,000 glimmer

    -1 exotic cipher

The 50,000 glimmer cost would stay to have some consistency, and to not have it feel "free". Since players can guarantee have 1 cipher a week, some of the cost should remain.

BUNGiE, just curious: WHY in the world is Shattered Throne dropping 1250PL blues, while dropping Legendaries that are essentially obsolete?

If this activity is no longer going to drop anything worthwhile, maybe just cram it in the vault with the rest of the unwanted toys, or provide an option to have my 1250+ Power Level actually matter, you know, just for the fun of kicking Vorgeth's butt, yeah?

Trace Rifles have been a thing since Vanilla Destiny 2 - so why haven't they gotten dedicated mods 5 expansions later?

    Posted: 30 Nov 2020 08:41 AM PST

The transition to what I'll call "Mods 3.0" and being the designated Divinity guy during the final Taniks encounter has made it abundantly clear that Trace Rifles really need the support mods other weapon types have.

Trying to get Special Ammo drops with no dedicated Weapon Ammo Finder is a fucking coin toss - either you get what you need or you don't. Reserve mods would be an actual godsend. Bingo for Dexterity. FFS we have a mod that literally extends the duration of Rampage by 1 whopping second but Trace Rifle Ammo Finder is a myth.

I never really understood why (formerly) Auto Rifles were chosen to double up for Trace Rifles since :

    • All Trace Rifles in game use special. (Side note : Legendary Trace Rifles should definitely be a thing, but hey, 5 expansions in and I guess it's not in the cards)
    • All Auto Rifles in game use primary. (Side side note : an Exotic Auto Rifle that uses special would be neat. Vex Mythoclast 2 or a Xenophage Lite kind've dealio)

As of Beyond Light, the only Auto Rifle mod that has some sort of Trace Rifle functionality still listed is the Loader mod. If the Auto Rifle mods actually do affect Trace Rifles but doesn't have the text in-game to address that - I don't know. There might be a few videos on youtube/threads on the subreddit about it but I haven't personally done any testing.

I know it's not a big deal, but with how important Divinity is/can be during endgame encounters, having 5 (fun note : we've actually gotten 1 new Trace Rifle with every big launch/expansion barring Beyond Light) Trace Rifles in game, it's just something that should've been a thing by now.

The tracking on Lament is awful while revved up

    Posted: 30 Nov 2020 03:24 PM PST

It will *rarely* ever stay on the target I'm hitting, and sometimes the heavy will drag me through, even worse, the heavy will just *not* hit the target sometimes.

I don't know what made it different, but this needs a fix. It makes using the weapon as an anti-barrier weapon almost impossible sometimes, especially considering it won't register barrier hits if you're inside the bubble.

If you ever feel useless, just a reminder that Clan Banner Staffs exist.

    Posted: 30 Nov 2020 07:25 PM PST

Yup. If you inspect your clan banner, you'll find that if your clan hit max rank during a season, you get a special staff design. Maybe Wish 15 is in there somewhere, because I can't find a good reason for these to exist. But hey, I guess it's not necessarily bad for the game, so I'll take it.

The story of how destiny 2 saved me

    Posted: 30 Nov 2020 07:24 PM PST

To be honest I'm fairly new this season, I haven't even been able to buy beyond light. But I've been playing non stop I already have the ace of spades! And to be honest life has been really hard for me lately, and destiny gives me something to look forward to. The enjoyment I get from getting random exotic drops in crucible is amazing. I'm to the point that even when my friends say shitty things because I try to share my happiness of getting an exotic drop I just recover because I remind myself it isn't about them and if they don't wanna share that that's on them. Point being is this game is wonderful and truly saved me.

This Week at Not Bungie - 11/30/2020 - AI Learning, Autocomplete-Generated TWAB

    Posted: 30 Nov 2020 08:00 AM PST

You might know how this goes by now. I run a few TWAB articles into the Botnik predictive writer, which can generate sentences in an autocomplete fashion based on what you feed it.

Not Bungie has a website! All articles that have already seen their time on Reddit can be read over on https://notbungie.net/

THIS WEEK AT NOT BUNGIE - 11/30/2020

This week at Not Bungie, the DCV saved up to launch your solstice packages into thick Gambit.

With the release of Destiny 2 Beyond Beyond, we introduced two varieties of your heart candy. With stasis subclasses beginning in November, you can continue your new favorite Korean perks that you won't read. For every single dollar we have, we will sunset your Ghosts that originally had access to highly useful guardian healthcare. Now, players who die being upgraded with stasis will make room for Cosmodrome cone loops.

We're excited to see how long you survive in the tower without consuming everyone. The DCV will not grant bright engrams or activities when Beyond April launches Europa to the table. You can tackle the first armor pieces instead of deleting kids in the Crucible. It will be easy on Steam where certain leg armor mods will grant super energy on Xbox. Come together forever and make it somewhere with snow inventories.

    Beyond Hotfix

With the launch of Stasis Objectives, we want to give everyone ample time to dig your characters a new grave. Here for all the encounters in the tower, without spoiling everything, is Factual Zavala about how titans are rubbing their homes across California.

Zavala: Guardians. We have seven total community emblems to expect next year. We continue investigating the darkness on Mars's strange tree of stasis. Where is Mars? We have fixed the last mission host instead of making meaningful actors for Shaw Han. The darkness abilities you've earned are going away. Season of the Event ends with the weekly tradition of honoring guardians that received any bright dust from Eververse. Here to succeed me are 22 shards of rat.

Rat Shards: After solstice went live, we started my purple glows on your alternate classes. This will now contain all Eververse content from Destiny 2 in your Android mobile devices. You can purchase my own eyes on bungie.net with energy notes when the update goes well. The DCV will now sunset the DCV. To guide us through this speculation is a list of surgical bugs in our living rooms.

List of Surgical Bugs in Our Living Rooms: Crucible. We continue investigating people who play Bungie games. Strikes. Garbage disposals. Three days that follow the little giggle. We have a small grenade. Vents who observe other vents. Our known player experience. This week before December. Here to review a lot of questions about the sandbox is Hotfix 2.9.1.2.

    Hotfix:

    • Fixed an issue where Ruinous Laying Persona names could cause weasel levels until you approach Shaw for those enhanced mods we continue to spend large quantities of time to get ready.

    • Fixed an issue where you are going to need some loot anytime during the year.

    • Reduced all platforms to create more 4k/60fps patch notes.

    • Decreased hunters to be less thick. Hunter stasis leg armor will drop from your garage.

    • Increased warlocks to get the space grandma. After reviewing player heads, we weighted warlock blood on your eyes and we're sorry.

    • Increased titans to get through the story missions. Three years for the first time after calling out YouTube for those unfamiliar armor perks and we look pretty good for shortening your minds.

    • This is not the only patch note.

    • This is note number 8, after reviewing the others.

    • Decreased Trials matches to 0000 seconds.

    • Increased Gambit matches to 3,000 hours per bullet.

    • Upgraded Deej to player fireteam. Goodbye for the first time.

    • Increased dmg04 to get invaded every day for removing bad styles from Europa.

    • Increased Cozmo into the DCV. It will be easy to snag some loot again.

    • Fixed an issue where you are shooting aliens. You will now shoot your Ghosts and will be pulled from both Destiny 1 and 2 into the DCV.

    • Fixed an issue where enemies would stop responding to players if they carried too many arrows in their heads.

    • Fixed an ongoing issue where you came from the Moon.

    • Why do these continue to exist?

    • This is now a patch note.

Who are those bugs over there?

    Duplicate Hydrated Confusion

With more details on improving how you aim, we have a few more fun social months for the first time after calling out Twitch Streamers for those unfamiliar future disaster perks. Three characters every single week will be available to give us emails that may continue to earn more randomly rolled art. This time, players who observe a perfect mood will be deprecated from home. If you have any energy, we will give you raid boss hiatus for a while. If you haven't snagged the sweet wallpapers for Beyond Arms, we will sunset you. Happy creepy Drifter needles!

    Movie of the Baboon

Are you ever closer to brain? I have already pre-resolved an issue causing players to see YouTube energy. Now to check in with our community volunteers on some werewolf appetizers. These movies aren't going to leave plenty for you to experience. They aren't entirely real. Sometimes, we have a few grenades work in the tower. Why this year? It will be taken offline for maintenance at least 400 times next week. Enjoy these over the next two weeks.

Movie of the Vault: Journey with the Big Trailer

Honorable Crawlies: After the Bin of Arrivals

If you want to earn the movie emblem, please stop reminding me that hunters lost those love spheres.

Another November at Bungie will not have this dedicated flag. We will deprecate more information into the DCV. Stasis subclasses will now contain all patrols in the Crucible. If you haven't snagged Beyond Different, your guardian will be upgraded to 4k/60fps. Note that season pass rewards can now penetrate Taken phalanx shields deep in the bottom. That wasn't a little tease. Whether you wanted it or not, the DCV has reached in the game and swapped Mars for a mummified Ghost. A few more fun things between now and 2021 will be available to players who already own their Xbox Series X, unlike you. Time to kill our plans.

    Stay intact.

We should get a season of the Vanguard and it could be amazing.

    Posted: 30 Nov 2020 08:41 AM PST

With this current season sonsisting of running core playlists to be able to do the actual event but it charges slower than shit. Why don't we all suggest bungie take a season and fix one of those core playlists most people seem to play, the strike playlist.

    They could:

-Add 1 to 3 new strikes to the playlist and overhaul strikes completly by changing up enemy placement and amounts (more enemies sounds fun as hell to me).

-Add strike specific loot, the community has wanted this since launch please bungie please just add something. A gun, a armor piece, please just anything.

-Add more incentives to mindlessly run the strike playlist over and over again. Correct me if im wrong but didn't d1 have a feature where the longer you stayed in the playlist the better your rewards you would get? Maybe also add more things for the Gunsmith, Zavala, Rahool, Hawthorne, etc. to give us.

-For example maybe hawthorne has a weekly quest you can pick up from her that rewards you with a clan xp boost and some legendary gear (kinda like her raid bounty) but it requires you to do strikes/nightfalls with clanmates and complete certain objectives as a fireteam.

-Gunsmith can have a weekly set of weapons with random rolls and you can earn 1 of them per week for completing his weekly quest involving you killing things with certain guns. These guns would rotate out per week and add new guns with new rolls. Maybe add a unique perk combo on some of the weapons to give extra incentive for players to pay attention to what weapons he has.

-Rahool could offer us a umbral like engram for whatever bungie decides but the contents of the engram can be weapons that drop in the normal loot pool however this way players can more easily farm the god rolls considering the loot pool of the engram would be smaller than the world pool.

-And Zavala, good old Zavala, the strike man himself. Please make him do more, maybe have him offer a weekly Nightfall challenge of sorts for players who need harder endgame content like master and grandmaster nightfalls. This could be done by making players complete nightfalls with new sets of buffs and debuffs that only appear in his weekly challenge. Add wipe mechanics or point deductions for not paying attention, maybe killing Majors or Champions causes a prison of elder style bomb to be spawned that if not dismantled will either Wipe your team in the extreme case or take away a huge chunk of points.

Thank you all for listening to my Ted Talk. Im not a game dev and maybe some of these requests are too much for one season but i really feel like the strike and nightfall playlists need more incentive and more content in general if we want to move forward. Strike specific loot and more endgame content within these playlists would help out immensly. Please let me know what you guys think about my ideas and how flawwed they are or any other suggestions you think would help.

Champion kills with Stasis is the worst objective

    Posted: 30 Nov 2020 01:49 PM PST

Asking us to get champion kills with stasis is like annoying. Stasis rarely outright kills anything that isn't a weak red bar enemy.

So if I read Bungie's intention correctly, we have to widdle the health down on a health regenerating Champion then kill with some sort of stasis during an activity where champions appear, Hero Ordeal being the most common, while trying to get the kills before the other players kill the Champion.

Here's the reality. I load into 1250 NF, kill as many champions as I can with a Finisher while having Stasis equipped.

This objective, in my subjective opinion, sucks.

EDIT: some of you are just telling me to use a finisher, it's written above about the reality of completing the objective. I'm simply saying that it is annoying to complete and I'm not sure what Bungie's intentions were for this objective. Status simply doesn't kill things on its own very often.

Hey Bungie, just a reminder that you really need to talk about Warlock tuning soon.

    Posted: 30 Nov 2020 06:37 AM PST

    Hey Bungie, u/dmg04, u/cozmo23

I know you've had a couple of days off with the US holidays and all, and I really hoped you enjoyed them. I just thought I would post a quick reminder that while you've been gone, there has been some chatter that you may have missed.

    1. Footage of how bad the Warlock Stasis melee is now
    2. Hey Bungie, Warlock here. I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed, again
    3. The Stasis nerfs primarily effecting warlocks is giving me nova warp PTSD
    4. Why did the Warlock melee have to be butchered like this if you're only frozen for a second anyway?
    5. You hit the Warlock Stasis subclass too hard for PvE

This isn't an exhaustive list, just the first couple I grabbed off the front page these past few days.

The Chatter, mainly, is to do with the Week 1 Shadebinder nerfs and the impact they've had on Warlocks both for PvP and PvE.

I'm not here to beat a dead horse, you can (and really really should) read the threads yourselves, but I am here to let you know what we would like to be heard. One of the most common asks (begs) in these threads is that we get some interaction from you guys about the issues raised therein. The silence has felt a little deafening.

It felt like you folks were very very quick to lay out a series of compounding nerfs, which cut into nearly every part of the subclass before Stasis was even fully realised, but since then you have been rather quiet on the feedback from those changes.

Credit where credit is due, you did respond to one thread about the issue

    1. If you're going to nerf the melee for Warlock Stasis, can I please be able to use it at point blank instead of the default slap?

10 days ago we did get this

I'll share this feedback, thanks! Let us know how the new changes feel as we are not done making changes to Stasis this season.

Ignoring the fact that the thread wasn't really about the issues raised as such, but an alternative to them, it didn't fill me with a lot of hope. "This season", This season on February 9th 2021.

This Thursday, Warlocks will have been nerfed twice as long as they were ever not-nerfed. This will only grow with each passing day. Potentially waiting until February to get a much needed rework just plain isn't fair.

Given that the team was able to put together 6 compounding changes, push them out for testing and tuning, get them included in a TWaB that went out with immediate effect, all in about a week, it seems pretty reasonable that we should be able to consider updates on these changes in twice that amount of time.

You asked us to give you feedback

Let us know how the new changes feel

Don't forget to let us know you are listening and understand that feedback.

Think about it. Right now we really have no way to farm for targeted exotics besides doing the lost sectors. You can target high roll legendary armor through the hunts (until it's sunsetted which armor shouldn't but that's a topic for another day) but there's no way to target high roll exotics. Sure you could farm The Ordeal but with Exotic loot pools being so massive you may never even get that armor piece you need let alone the roll. I think the double lost sector rewards would be a good solution to where you can at least go for a certain type of Exotic Armor piece.

    The Campsite Is Awesome!

I know it's often overlooked.. but The Campsite is my favourite side feature of Beyond Light. Bungie gave us a little hut to store trophies of our journey. It's literally a precursor to a player home... and I love it!
