Enemy Density in Devils Lair and Battlegrounds has been unanimously praised, and for good reason. It's fun. But it also highlights Destiny's strongest feature. The Combat. It can be the definitive Action MMO when it wants to be. More of this in the future please.

    Posted: 20 Feb 2021 11:22 AM PST

Just a quick discussion about the importance of Enemy Density in Destiny outside of it just being plain fun!

Destiny is a game that thrives on its combat. It always has. And when your company strives to make the "Definitive Action MMO"... there's a lot to live up to! Up until now, Destiny 2 hasn't FULLY lived up to that in my humble opinion. However, I do believe that the feedback regarding battlegrounds and Devil's Lair can be used to push Destiny in the proper direction to reach that goal!

We as players spend so much time crafting these incredibly powerful builds with our weapons, and Warmind cells, and any other mod of that nature. We become these incredibly powerful and unstoppable GODS but then have very few if any place to utilize them. The main two that come to mind are Raids, and Grandmaster Nightfalls. But Raids aren't that difficult when it comes to combat. More so in coordination and teamwork, and grandmasters have so many modifiers and artificial difficulty that it isn't really as fun as it could be. (I'm glad grandmasters exist however, just wished they were tweaked.)

That's why Devils Lair and the battlegrounds are so effective! Its finally some semblance of a playground where you can actually put your full show of power on display! So many enemies to kill and when you're at level with the difficulty, everything can be a serious threat you should plan around.

Just wanted to say Good Job Bungie. This is something I've been thinking about a lot lately and wanted to put it out there.

Here is a video version of this post I made if anyone wants to hear my extended thoughts and discuss!

EDIT: Thanks for the silver award! Don't think I've ever gotten one before!

EDIT 2: Went to sleep and this post blew up. Thanks for all the comments!

EDIT 3: Holy Presage, you guys are insane. love u

Players without any warmind cell mod should do zero damage to every warmind cell.

    Posted: 20 Feb 2021 04:12 PM PST

I know there's been more than one post with people asking others not to shoot the cells. The thing is, there are a ton of people who didn't see those posts, there's others who don't really care, and there are even more people who play the game and don't come here.

Building a loadout where all your weapons generate warmind cells that heal your team and reduce the damage taken from enemies while generating more warmind cells upon explosion is nice.

Having a random teammate shoot your cell, killing 2 enemies while the hundred others keep shooting you, and they then try to melt your Ghost... That is not nice.

I’m ok with Trials being sweaty as long a everyone plays by the rules. Ban recoveries and people streaming recoveries.

    Posted: 20 Feb 2021 06:12 PM PST

Recently, /u/dmg04 asked the community how Trials can be made better. Many people talked about a different queue for people that have gone flawless that week. That sounds great, but there's a glaring problem that is of Bungie's own making: their refusal to uphold their own Terms of Service by not banning, discouraging and suing companies and individuals selling recoveries.

Right now, there are streamers who take "donations" for recoveries. It is being done out in the open. There is a monetary incentive for the best of the best to keep playing, everyone else be damned.

Bungie, if you're going to keep adding amazing guns to the game via Trials, promote a healthy environment in which more people feel confident jumping in. Make examples out of streamers. These people are actively promoting carries recoveries in the open, violating your rules and making this game mode absolutely unbearable for the 99% of people.

This being said, I understand that there will always be someone better than me. I'm just asking Bungie to stop silently approving this practice.

I'm sure there are people that will point out that there have always been recoveries. Yes, of course, but I believe that limiting their visibility and permissibility might alleviate a lot of the issues me and thousands of others are experiencing.

I'm not asking Bungie to change the rules, I'm just asking them to actively uphold them.

I don’t wanna level up every season

    Posted: 20 Feb 2021 06:35 AM PST

It just feels exhausting that the grind never truly feels complete. You'll be max level for a couple months, then come the next seasonal activity and artifact there's another two dozen pinnacles to grind for to have a number on your banner be bigger.

There are very few activities that demand the higher level cap each season anyways, if any.

World of Warcraft, Final Fantasy XIV, The Old Republic, all of them only increase the max level once a year with the annual DLC release. And it's nothing substantial, only by a dozen levels or so, but they also increase the max level of all activities across the board to make the progression relevant.

The way Destiny handles it just feels like artificial progression to make you feel like you have to play or you'll get left behind.

Since Cosmodrome isn't getting updated, could it atleast be given a day and night cycle.

    Posted: 20 Feb 2021 02:15 PM PST

Basically title, it's just kinda odd that the sun is always in the same position. Would be nice for it to get some sense of time progression.

Correction: Since it's not getting updated expanded

I remember when BL released, the stasis warlock melee was extremely annoying, and then massively nerfed. This season they made the hunter melee even more powerful, why?

    Posted: 20 Feb 2021 09:04 AM PST

It's so sad it's funny not seeing a single Stasis Warlock on Trials because it's terrible for PvP, yet the shuriken + shatterdive is extremely powerful, in fact I've been killed more times by stasis than Felwinters, and that's saying something.

Bungie last season: Removed Season of Dawn items from loot pool that expire at the end of current season. Bungie THIS Season: Just kidding, here's a pile of Season of Worthy items that expire in a couple months.

    Posted: 20 Feb 2021 04:15 PM PST

Last season, just a few weeks into the season, the World Loot Pool was updated so that any items that were set to expire at the end of the season would not drop any more. We all agreed that it felt pretty bad getting those items as a drop, only for them to have a shelf-life of a couple months, at best.

Fast forward to this season, and the problem still exists, and it seemingly gotten worse. The loot pool is littered with Season of Worthy items that are only good until the end of this season. Why was this update just dropped and forgotten so quick? I keep getting Seventh Seraph items, Interference GLs, Escape Velocity, etc quite frequently. Even if I get a good/decent one, I don't care, as the item expires in a couple months.

Surely there are some other items that could replace these, preferably with a usable shelf-life.

The lore on Dredgen Yor mentions that he carried an auto rifle called Inferno before the Thorn. I'd love too see this in-game, but are there other weapons mentioned in lore you'd like to see?

Are we really going to have Iron Banner next week when Saladin JUST finished telling us that running the banner instead of fighting in the Red War was his biggest mistake?

    Posted: 20 Feb 2021 07:55 AM PST

Like, isn't this season supposed to be at least partly about him getting off the couch and actually doing something, when he's been doing exactly zero for the last 4 years? He straight up tells us this during one of the War Table briefings, that he shouldn't have been running the Banner and should have been fighting the Red Legion.

There's even a sick burn in Battleground dialogue where Crow asks him what he was doing during the Red War and he only gets silence in response.

Not that I'm again IB, I just think it it doesn't make sense, storyline wise, for him to be hosting it. Maybe there's be a surprise guest host though, like Efrideet coming back again or something.

Can we revert the low light vendor drops for Shaxx and Drifter?

    Posted: 20 Feb 2021 03:03 PM PST

I understand why they were implemented before, but since we cannot spam tokens at Shaxx anymore (And never could with Drifter), it's a completely unnecessary system that really does not make me excited to grind their rank-ups now since I get gear I still need to infuse. That's assuming Zavala is getting the same update next season, but if he isn't then I'm going to be heavily disappointed.

I wish we had gotten a different "style" super for Arcstrider

    Posted: 20 Feb 2021 02:21 AM PST

Don't get me wrong, Whirlwind Guard is a great counter to Silence and Squall, but aside from that, there's no difference to all three of the supers. Maybe we could get a ranged version of the super in the future like throwing a Valkyrie?

Edit: By the way, I'm not saying there isn't any value in the current subclass trees. I mainly made this post because I'm an Arcstrider main since D2 launch(I've used other supers, but I'll always be a strider at heart) and noticed how all three supers are the exact same, and the general gameplay for all three is the same, with middle tree being the strongest.

There is potential for all subclasses, and I'm not saying it's underpowered(it's fairly balanced if you remove stasis from the game).

I'm glad Umbral Engrams are back, but I miss the funny Drifter trash can from Arrivals

    Posted: 20 Feb 2021 08:14 PM PST

It feels so impersonal now, and it may be because I'm just a fan of the drifter's character but I miss it.

If we want class balance to be taken seriously, we need to start talking in terms of subclasses and trees instead of overall classes

    Posted: 20 Feb 2021 11:47 AM PST

Title. All classes have very strong and very weak trees. Saying "Hunters are OP" or "Warlocks are weak" is ridiculous, considering both of these classes have extremely strong as well as weak PvP options.

We should be calling the people throwing themselves off the edge in Trials for the 3 Win reward "Unlicensed Thanatonauts", not "Suicide Squad".

Pull from our own piece of media lads, we've got our resident suicide happy group in-lore, use their name instead will you.

I am once again asking for a duel wield exotic

    Posted: 20 Feb 2021 08:43 AM PST

This would literally be my favorite exotic. Either it be sidearms or SMGs. I would obviously want a catalyst right away to track my kills with it. It would be the perfect run 'n gun exotic, maybe even beating huckleberry, my current favorite add clear exotic. This exotic would be certainly unique as there are no duel wielding weapons currently. Maybe for a cool perk to have on it, like chain reaction, or a new kind of perk. I would definitely want this to be an add clearer. Maybe like sliding reloads and increases fire rate? And kills keep it going? Catalyst? Idk.

Edit: it is spelled dual-wield not duel.

Celerity and Bottomless Grief deserve to be great solo activity perks

    Posted: 20 Feb 2021 12:36 PM PST

I would use the absolute hell out of these inside of solo activities like rumble and legend lost sectors if they worked while I were the only member of my team as well as the last living member of the team

    Posted: 20 Feb 2021 04:26 PM PST

Bungie, please, return CURATED ROLLS at least to raids/trials/grandmaster with insane combos.

    Posted: 20 Feb 2021 02:53 AM PST

Really, don't you want to see anyone gets something like curated Kindled Orchid or Threat Level or Twilight Oath, but only for raid completion or flawless as some ASPIRATIONAL loot?

Palindrome and Bottom Dollar drop rates are ridiculously low.

    Posted: 20 Feb 2021 08:20 PM PST

I've run about 10 master nightfalls and only gotten 1 palindrome. Besides those I've run 70+ Hero and Legend nightfalls and I've gotten a maximum of 8. I've also heard plenty of people saying they've gone 60-70 gambit games without a bottom dollar. There's no way the drop rates are supposed to be this low. Any one else with drop rates this low?
