Destiny Sunday Plz - Make A Crucible Mode With No Heavy or Supers

Sunday Plz - Make A Crucible Mode With No Heavy or Supers

    Posted: 28 Mar 2021 02:00 AM PDT

    Greetings Guardians!

Ever since the conception of this sub, we've dealt with floods of reposts. We're sure you're familiar with them. Many are for important issues that are shared by the entire player base, while others are just for personal requests and desires for the game. The Bungie Plz was shortly implemented after conception as a central "wish-list" for all that we, the community, desired. It is completely user driven. With rare exceptions, nearly all submissions are sent in by you, the users of this subreddit!

However, just like Destiny 2, our wiki article began to experience problems as it grew over time. It's been getting just a few sizes too big. We understand that the continued addition of topics has begun to encroach on your ability to continue the conversation towards matters that mean the most to you, and even though the Bungie Plz has seen so many successes over the years, with well over 100 officially implemented game suggestions and desires, there's still dozens upon dozens of retired topics that haven't seen the light of day for many months...even years!

Every Sunday, this thread will focus on a certain retired Bungie Plz topic of your choosing, voted by the users. We will curate a list of 5 suggestions to help focus your voting process, but you get the final say on what is talked about each week. By all means, if one topic is overwhelmingly desired despite not being part of those 5 items we picked, then we'll be happy to go with that one. Our curated list is only to help you focus the conversation. The only stipulation is that the topic must be new every week. This thread is for the entirety of the Bungie Plz wiki, so no back-to-back voting!

Think of these threads as a way to keep the spark alive, and to bring old topics up to fresh light. For example, do we still want to move Queenbreaker to the special slot? Or does Arbalest serve that purpose well enough now? Do we still want an all-black shader, or do we want a character barbershop more?

You tell us! This is your conversation, guardians.

For this week, you voted on:

Introduce a Crucible Mode with no heavy/supers

For next week, here are some suggestions:

    • Add New Gambit Maps
    • Increase the teleport cooldown for powerful tier enemies
    • Rework the Black Talon Catalyst
    • Make Warlock bonds more cosmetically distinct and appealing
    • Veteran Dialogue option for PC players (and console)

Sound off in the sticky comment for which one sounds good (just give us a moment to put it up), or anything else in the Bungie Plz wiki that catches your eye, and we'll do our best to accommodate!

Bungie plz remove glimmer cost to swap mods.

    Posted: 28 Mar 2021 12:58 PM PDT

Title pretty much says it all. It's so annoying to run out of glimmer all the time from switching mods up for different activities. I know I can go top of on glimmer at spider and do. Just a pet pev of mine or does this annoy anyone else as well? Lol.

Edit 1: wow thanks for all the up votes and rewards people :). Maybe we can get bungies attention lol.

I know there are bigger issues in game right now, but I miss being able to make my character more glowy by the crown aura. Perhaps put different colors on the completion of a grandmaster (purple), and going flawless on trials (yellow) so that the pvp and pve communities can enjoy them both? Edit: Yay my first ever awards! Thank you kind strangers <3

Adept weapons should have two perks in each column

    Posted: 28 Mar 2021 06:24 PM PDT

They're already significantly harder to acquire than their regular counterparts , yet the odds of getting a terrible roll are exactly the same . Having a perk choice would make them far more desirable and would reduce the huge disappointment you feel once you get a zen moment celerity adept messenger . It's demoralizing and since the odds of having a good roll are exactly the same , you start questioning whether it's even worth it to go after adepts in the first place .

I used Nova Warp for the first time in a year, and I finally understood why people felt so defeated about using it.

    Posted: 28 Mar 2021 02:58 PM PDT

For a roaming super, you can barely roam about with it. The main way to get around with this super is to blink, but that penalty for teleporting is so steep that by the time you've charged your super to kill someone, the super will already run out, so if you want the super to last longer, you basically have to slowly float around the map hoping to catch someone off guard to use it against, and if your timing is off, you can get easily killed.

The upsetting part about this super is that it's probably one of the coolest looking supers in the game with one of the dopest looking animations to go along with it, yet I am better off just using it solely for it's grenade ability and that kind of sucks.

Anti-barrier servitors are the absolute worst champion out of all of them

    Posted: 28 Mar 2021 08:54 AM PDT

The title says it all but I'll explain anyway.

Anti-barrier servitors are the worst champion to ever come across in any activity. They can turn up to like 15 enemies immune at the same time from unbelievable distances. Those enemies can also be kept immune through any object because the immunity tethers just go through walls because why not. If you are caught in a bottleneck position like in the garden lost sector on the cosmodrome, the servitors will make everything immune including other champions which will create basically an tiny unkillable army that either makes a shield wall and body blocks all shots towards the champion or they all just rush you while still immune through a wall. What doesn't help is that the servitors just run away and hide behind walls and regen their entire health bar which can't be prevented because that army is still right there. Also like all servitors, the anti barrier variant has a headshot hit box the size of a flea and I miss so many headshots because I shot the "body"

That is why I hate anti barrier servitors Thank you for your time

I don't know who needs to hear this, but: Your super isn't as weak as you think it is.

    Posted: 28 Mar 2021 03:49 PM PDT

Today I watched with varying degrees of frustration as teammate after teammate in solo Competitive chose not to use their super. Some were the usual suspects--tether, Fist of Havoc, even a blade barrage or two--but others weren't. I watched a Chaos Reach warlock go two consecutive games (8 rounds!) without casting their super. One titan chose not to use his Thundercrash to win a 1:1 and clutch a round. (He died to a Felwinter's shot to the face.) Whatever their reasoning may have been, one thing is still fundamentally true:

Destiny is an ability-shooter, and with almost no exceptions, is balanced under the assumption that you will use your super... so use it.

"But Q," you might say, ...

I'm not confident that I'll get kills with it.

You know what, you're right. You might not... and that's okay. Supers can manufacture kills, but they don't have to be the thing actually killing the opposing team. The real reason supers need to be a central part of your kit is the simple fact that they force your opponents out of their game plan. Just the act of using your super forces the enemy team to play outside of their comfort zone. Use it to change the flow of the game, and any kills you get will be the icing on the cake.

    "But Q," you continue, ...

There might be a better time to use my super!

Sometimes, you're right. You can't win a 1v6 with a single Revenant super. It's best to take the L and save your super for the next stalemate.

But more often than not... you're wrong. The best times to use your super are the tense moments, the moments when you're not sure whether or not you'll win this next gunfight, when both teams are tied for respawns and have set up in their favorite angles. There is no dishonor in the solo super if it allows you to stay alive and slay out for your team.

Speaking of, I hear someone else saying...

But I like using my guns more than my abilities!

Cool. Stick to sixes--you'll have many more targets, and your insistence on ignoring half of your kit won't be as much of a detriment to other players who are just trying to win.

I'm not saying that you should use your super all willy-nilly as soon as the notification appears on screen. Make sure you know who you're targeting when you cast it, and position yourself accordingly. But cast it, by Savathûn's Song, and get that win.

If the rest of year 4 is going to be like Chosen, then this might be the best year destiny has had so far.

    Posted: 28 Mar 2021 04:20 PM PDT

Or at least on par with y2.

All of the new loot, exotic armor, 2 reintroduced strikes and 1 brand new one, weekly story missions, a repayable "secret" exotic mission, fun and repayable seasonal mode that has a decent enough loot system, and the character development and story in general.

hunt was an expansion season which doesn't excuse the fact it was lackluster but still explains the content gap between these 2.

I'm just posting this in hopes that the rest of the season will live up to the expectations this one has set up, and yeah I know all of the new loot and the reintroduced strikes were mostly to feed back into the loot/content pool of the game due to sunsetting and vaulting.

Destiny has had a pattern of bad season followed by good one since basically shadowkeep. I hope #14 breaks that chain

Chain Reaction would be an excellent addition for Le Monarque if it ever gets a catalyst.

    Posted: 28 Mar 2021 09:35 AM PDT

    Title!

The precision shot poison effect of Le Monarque is already pretty great when doing ad-clear, but having the Chain Reaction also deal poison damage would be phenomenal. It's already a great feeling bow and I feel like this wouldn't be too game-busting compared to some other ad-clearing options out there (looking at you Trinity Ghoul!).

Alternatively, also increasing the poison damage or tick rate wouldn't go amiss either; mostly to help do more chunk damage to target with more health than your average red-bar.

    Destiny Suffers from Information Underload

    Posted: 28 Mar 2021 09:32 AM PDT

Destiny has too many buffs and debuffs for the UI to handle anymore. It only shows the 2-3 most recently applied ones and hides the rest. Half of these applied buffs are just a name with no timer or anything. It needs to change along with item/perk descriptions.

Perks need to give more information for a player to feel like they know how to play and get better.

i.e.: Ambitious Assassin gives UP TO double the base magazine of a weapon dependent on your most recent multi-kill streak a few seconds before reloading. Great for high capacity weapons for ad clear, not so great for low-capacity weapons made for boss killing. How can the average player knows this in-game?

No player would know this if they played the game only. They'd have to hop on a browser, google that specific question, and then save it to memory as Bungie has no resource for this to call on later.

And how about changes to Perks/Items? Nezarec's Sin was the most recent, but not the first, of this problem. Originally this Exotic gave 2 Seconds of ability regen to Warlock's on any Void Kill with 5 seconds added per subsequent kill to a cap of about 15 seconds. When Beyond Light released, it was nerfed to 2 seconds per subsequent kill. The community THOUGHT it was a bug until a follow-up TWAB confirmed it was intended. The sting isn't in the change, the sting is in NOT BEING TOLD OF THE CHANGE.

We get it, mistakes happen. But in that same expansion release you also forgot to tell the team that the Exotic "Necrotic Grip" does NOT give melee energy back, despite it being marketed in promotional material doing that AND having a description in its item perk for the first few weeks of release. It released with all but the effect itself actually in the game. And can you believe this happened for another pair of Exotic Gloves called Oathkeeper back in Forsaken? Fool me once...

What to do about it: Bring the buff/debuff UI to a state that accurately reflects which ones are applied and for how long. Update item descriptions to either be CONSISTENT with their descriptors OR put actual numbers in them. And for the love of frikken god, sit your Marketing Team/Patch Notes team down with the people in charge of Exotics ONE ADDITIONAL TIME RIGHT BEFORE RELEASE so people are on the same page. Please and thank you.

Spent an hour formatting a beautiful request to change our UI with how it handles buffs and debuffs complete with linked examples and tables and blah blah blah, Windows crashed and so now we get my coffee-fueled short version. You have a community already gearing up to demand for inventory space changes and load outs, so this is something that falls right in that and will be a problem if it's not touched on sooner rather than later.

Hand cannons feel pretty bad in pve, especially in hard content. I think it’s time to revert some of the precision nerfs.

    Posted: 28 Mar 2021 05:33 PM PDT

I think anyone who runs GMs knows that hand cannons are in a rough spot save those such as seventh seraph with timed payload and few other niches. After attempting to use my igneous and other 120s I couldn't believe that even in regular NFs I can't one tap headshot red bars.

In this meta I think this is unnecessary and that we should revert some of the precision multiplier nerfs to red bars.

A guide to why 450 rpm auto rifles are bad and what amount of damage is needed to make them not bad.

    Posted: 28 Mar 2021 04:55 AM PDT

Let me first preface this by addressing a common misconception I see on this subreddit:

Shadow price was always a 450. 360 rpm auto rifles did not exist in D1 apart from genesis chain's focused fire which was the only 360 rpm in the game.

In D1, 450 rpm auto rifles deal 27 crit 21 body. Optimal ttk is 0.93 sec, 5 crits 3 body and body shot ttk is 1.2 sec in 10 shots.

In D2 they display in game 28 crit 18 body and have an optimal ttk of 0.93 sec in 6 crits 2 body and a body shot ttk of 1.47 sec in 12 body shots.

    But wait! Shouldn't they be a 0.8 sec optimal ttk on 6 resilence or less because 28 x 7 = 192?

    Nope.

Thing is the 28 crit 18 body displayed in game is false. It's visually rounded up, and the actual damage is 27.2 and 17.2

    They need a buff, badly.

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Here's a handy chart in descending order of rpm from slowest to fastest, using 6 resilence to calculate ttk.

RPM Optimal TTK Body shot TTK
    360 5 crit 1 body @0.83 sec 9 shots @1.33 sec
    450 6 crit 2 body @0.93 sec 12 shots @1.47 sec
    600 8 crit 1 body @0.8 sec 14 shots @1.3 sec
    720 9 crit 1 body @0.77 sec 15 shots @1.17 sec

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

As you can see here the 450 rpm class is worse in every possible regard. The worst optimal ttk and the worst body shot ttk.

They can't have both being the worst.

The root cause of this is the slight precision damage nerf they received in vanilla D2 after the Uriel's gift meta.

Optimal ttk was 1.07 sec back then, which hilariously was considered fast back then. They did 23 a crit so it was 9 crits to kill.

Then they got nerfed to 21 a crit so it was 10 crits to kill in 1.2 sec simply by decreasing their Precision damage multiplier slightly.

If precision damage was increased to at least 28.5 (would display as 29 in game) but body damage remained the same...

It would be a 7 crit kill on all but 10 resilence @0.8 sec.

And the 0.93 sec kill would be slightly more forgiving, taking 5 crits 3 body instead of the current 6 crits 2 body. (1 less crit)

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

This very slight change would make this archetype of auto rifle viable in PvP. They wouldn't be meta but they'd at least be more on par with the other auto rifles.

Any further damage increase would result in them creeping into overpowered territory.

Remember the auto rifle meta in early D1?

450rpm auto rifles did a whopping 32 per crit and 22 per body back then.

Optimal ttk was 0.6 something sec in 6 crits!

Not to mention the 7 shot 0.8 sec kill was 4 crits 3 body lol...

    So...

    TLDR:

Revert precision damage nerf that 450rpm auto rifles got in vanilla D2 after the Uriel's gift meta.

Thankyou for attending my ted talk etc etc.

Can we get some badass glowing armor tied to high-level PVE achievements?

    Posted: 28 Mar 2021 03:38 PM PDT

The idea is that, each year, we'd have a full set of amazing-looking glowing armor tied to specific PVE achievements. Each piece signifies that the player has done something really hard. This can be set up to gradually unlock as the year progresses:

    • (Completable Season 1)
      • Expansion Raid, Master Difficulty Flawless Completion - Legs
    • (Completable Season 2)
      • Nightfall, Grandmaster Difficulty Flawless Completion (on 2 different Nightfalls across 2 seasons) - Arms
    • (Completable Season 3)
      • Mid-Year Raid, Master Difficulty Flawless Completion - Chest
    • (Completable Season 4)
      • Yearly Dungeon, Master Difficulty Solo Flawless Completion - Helmet
      • Nightfall, Grandmaster Difficulty Flawless Completion (on 4 different Nightfalls across 4 seasons) - Class

While we're at it, completion of these achievements unlocks a new title, e.g., Exemplar. Because of the staggered release of each activity, this can only be completed by the 4th season in any given year. The title would be so badass that it begins and remains gilded for a year, until the next iteration of Exemplar becomes unlockable.

Ideally, these achievements should not be subject to FOMO and can be completed at any time, even in future years in which new sets of armor are released. With the example achievements above, that might make the GM Nightfall ones easier to accomplish in later seasons. That's the only element that slightly irks me.

EDIT: Clarification - these should all be ornament unlocks, not actual pieces of armor.

EDIT 2: Looks like people want glowy armor from raid completions or some other kind of grindable pursuit. That's totally cool. Those can all co-exist with what I'm talking about above. The ornaments above are meant to be the ultimate aspirational PVE cosmetics. If you see a Guardian in a full set of this armor, you know that they've climbed to the tallest PVE peak for a given year.

You can Light up the World using Sola's Scar as a torch (Light Source Generator)

    Posted: 28 Mar 2021 07:59 AM PDT

    https://youtu.be/sy82hLC_a0I

Sola's Scar is more than just a sword, its a weapon of [the] Light. You can can create light sources with the sword by using the heavy attack WITHOUT full energy. This only uses one energy so creating light sources is a breeze.

    SOLA'S SCAR FAQ:

Bungie has capped the amount of light sources the sword can make (most likely unintentionally but definitely for a reason), so it is NOT possible to light up huge areas like the shattered throne. Do not try to fight the despawn rate of these projectiles.

This sword's heavy projectiles track enemies so use this sword away from enemies for a precise throw. The tracking kicks in slightly after the throw and is not very strong but can mess you up.

If you leave an area after laying the light sources then return, the light sources will NOT remain there (some fringe situations allowed them to remain I.e. Exiting a lost sector then immediately returning [enemies will not be there either]). Player's who are in the same area can also see the light sources everyone generates.

The light source intensity depends entirely on the texture of the things you use the sword on. Some textures will not light up at all while others glow super bright (I'm looking at you Deep Stone Crypt fluid pipes).

With just over 3 week until guardian games I'd like to make a plea to Bungie on behalf of a tiny subset of players. Please let us have our Antlers and Wings back.

    Posted: 28 Mar 2021 07:37 PM PDT

Tldr: Please can Revelry Ornaments work again.

I apologise how long a post this is for something so minor, but it is something that I care about and I know from posts last year others do too.

I know there is probably few of us left. Those who survived the grind of Revelry and kept the armour.

Fewer still that kept 3 full sets of it.

But I come to you now ahead of time to make my plea.

    Context:

For those of you who decided that a season based on Gambit was probably worth a miss and skipped season 6. Or those who have joined the ranks of guardians since Opulence onwards let me tell you a story.

In Spring of 2019 while everyone was getting their armour sets to go bully people in gambit prime a brand new event appeared.

    This event was the Revelry.

It wasn't anything mind blowing, imagine festival of the lost.

Take out the spoop, add an infinite time limit, and put in buffs you could apply for 30 mins to put a certain ability's regen to speeds that would make mayhem blush. (And make those buffs work anywhere including competitive crucible. I still can't bring myself to use Shinobu's)

But the part that is relavent to this post is the armour. When you ran out of time in the event, or as was more often the case gave up trying (every section of the infinite forest added time) you'd fight 5 bosses in a row and get five chest.

These chests would drop armour and a currency to hand to Eva.

The armour was nothing special simply a retextured set. However by handing in the currency to Eva you had a very small chance to get two ornaments for the helm.

One a set of Wings and the other Antlers.

The size and brightness of these ornaments would increase with the number of the armour pieces you wore. Be it the armour set described or the event set from evaverse.

The kicker, each ornament was a unique item. If you wanted Wings and Antlers for all 3 classes you had to get all 6 individual ornaments to drop from Eva.

I and many others grinded to silly numbers of branches to get all of them and on the false hope of a response by the Destiny 2 twitter we thought there was a chance we would get to keep them after the event was over.

But alas the glows only worked when the Revelry was on.

So we grumbled, stored them in our vault, and looked forwards to Revelry 2020.

But it never came, instead we got Guardian Games (please don't think this is a complaint towards that event) and on the first day I logged in I rushed excitedly to my vault and took out that dusty helm with it's Antler ornament still applied aaaand nothing.

    They didn't work.

Saddened I accepted that perhaps it was because it was (at least meant to be) an Olympic year that we got Guardian Games. So perhaps Revelry 2021 was my chance.

So that brings us to here.

    Plea:

Bungie please I have two requests. Could we either have our wings and antlers back during guardian games.

Or please could the ornaments themselves become permanent transmogged items. I don't mind if I have to turn the whole set into ornaments or if they would function with the Revelry evaverse set that I use since they became ornaments with Shadowkeep.

However if it is not possible, if something with the introduction of Armour 2.0 broke how they would work because of universal ornaments please tell us. It would be sad, but then we'd at least have closure.

Thank you to anyone who reaches the end of this.

I really want to like and use the exotic but in its current state, it's far too weak. It renders you essentially immobile for an overshield that isn't that great in my opinion, If I wanted to improve barricade I would much rather use Citan's as it is more tanky and won't render me a sitting duck for 20+ seconds.

Regardless of whether you think the overshield is enough or not I hope you can agree with me that the mobility penalties need to be relaxed.

Melee attacks and melee supers are suffering heavily atm thanks to the ridiculously bad hit registration.

I don't know what it is, but lately about 1/3 if not half my melee attacks do not register properly. It's either due to bad netcode or the "server" simply refuses to acknowledge melee hits connecting or the game makes me swing up in the air when the target is dead in the center of my screen but ... regardless of the reason, it's just unacceptable.

Just tonight I was in my arcstrider super and swung at an enemy hunter. He tanked my hit and proceeded to shotgun me in the face before I could swing again, oneshotting me while he lived. Similar situations happen left and right where I'd swing at an enemy so close I could smell his breath yet his hp bar completely ignored my hit eventho I heard it connect on my end. It's also extremely bad on all 3 shield bashes for titans that really only work when they want to. A titan tagged me with his shield bash but I lived and shotguned him in the face. I felt really bad about it.

TL.DR: Meleeing is a strong part of the gameplay yet it really only works when it wants to. Fix is needed ASAP, this is not a recent problem.

Please allow multiple dungeon clears per week

The limits on loot from dungeons seem arbitrary and unnecessary. The 1 pinnacle per week limit is fine, but let us run dungeons on repeat for more loot if we want to.
