- This Week At Bungie 3/11/2021
- Daily Questions [2021-03-12]
- If Caiatl offers us a pet warbeast, I would switch sides in an instant.
- Now hear me out, a 1/100 chance to spawn a giant taken version of drifter as the primeval instead of the normal primeval
- Don't let the return of Trials distract you from the fact that completing a single Control match is more rewarding than winning a single Trials game.
- I don't get why people still wanna fuck around with ads during gambit when the drifter says you've got enough motes. Seriously. Put them in the bank
- Not sure if this is known, but you can survive the crusher aboard the Glykon.
- So I decided to smoke a cigarette for every Bottom Dollar I get....
- Playing Gambit when there's some sort of community challenge on, continually reminds me of how unskilled, inattentive and inflexible the average player is.
- Bungie, Remember! You adjusted Chaos Reach super retention already. Don’t mess with it too much.
- The amount of times the mercy rule is given in the Crucible, only to then matchmake with 80% of the same people next game is too damn high
- Drifter promised he'd make me rich if I banked those motes...
- It's crazy to me that there are FINALLY Crucible-, Vanguard-, and Gambit-specific weapons... and they're not in the Shaxx, Zavala, or Drifter loot pools.
- I like champions, but I don’t like only being able to use just a few weapons to deal with them
- It would be sooooo cool if Drifter offered Bottom Dollar HC through Rank-up packages
- We should get an artifact unlock for every bonus power level the artifact provides.
- If Trials does return, I think that once you've acquired an item (much like how it enters the engram loot pool) it should also have a chance to drop post game, win or lose.
- Remember when Fellwinter said he could keep a city warm with one well of radiance? Can i do that in pvp?
- If/When Wavesplitter gets a catalyst it should get chain reaction.
- Bungie will announce missing mod solution, but not anytime soon
- Can we PLEASE get the old Gambit maps back?
- Chaos reach nerf for PVE?
- Add a free emote that lets clan members display their clan banner and expand clan banners to have unique stickers that we can turn on for certain achievements!
- I’m so sick of the state of gambit! Motes can’t be picked up, instant death (Scorn), and teleporting enemies!
Posted: 11 Mar 2021 03:05 PM PST Source: https://www.bungie.net/en/News/Article/50176 This week at Bungie, we prepare for Grandmaster. For years, we've been fighting to keep the Last City and its people safe. Our latest efforts off-world to keep Cabal leaders from strengthening Caiatl's War Council have been fruitful, but sometimes, the danger is closer to home than you'd think. If you haven't seen the cutscene that went live on Tuesday, we won't spoil it for you. All we'll say is that what happened will not be taken lightly. For the TWAB this week, we have a refresher on Grandmaster Nightfalls for the New Lights out there, a preview for some Stasis tuning coming next week, and results for our Festival of the Lost armor ornament vote. Let's get to it! Grandmasters of the UniverseAre you ready for a challenge? Starting on March 16, Grandmaster Nightfalls become available. Never heard of a Grandmaster Nightfall before? No problem. Let's get you up to speed.
This Season will also be your first opportunity to earn Adept weapons through a PvE activity. While Shadow Price, Palindrome, and The SWARM have each been available when completing lower difficulties of Nightfalls, Adept versions will only be available through Grandmaster difficulty. These weapons grant additional stat bonuses when Masterworked, and can be socketed with Adept weapon mods. You can earn these mods in Trials of Osiris and you'll be able to earn them through Grandmaster Nightfalls as well. Additionally, this will be your first opportunity to earn a Gilded version of the Conqueror title. If you see someone sporting this in a few weeks, know they went through an ordeal to earn it. Well, not just one... but many. Now's the time to form a fireteam and start strategizing how you'll work together to overcome the challenge. Smoke bombs might come in handy when things are looking dire, or a well-placed Nova Bomb to eliminate some Champions that have been stunned near each other. Word on the street is that the Cult of Aeon is rising up through the ranks, helping Guardians to keep their ammunition stocked during the fight. We're excited to see what strategies you create in the face of challenge, and to see what sweet loot you claim from the hands of your enemies. Eyes up, Guardians. Patch Note PreviewsOver the last few weeks, numerous teams throughout the studio have been working on bug fixes ranging from strikes to Sandbox. Our current target for Destiny 2 Update 3.1.1 is next Tuesday, March 16. While this isn't the largest patch we've shipped, we're excited to get these fixes out in the wild. Additionally, we made a commitment to some balance passes for Stasis in the Destiny 2021 Update: The Road to The Witch Queen. We had a few notes on how we'd be tuning the Titan Behemoth, Hunter Revenant, and Warlock Shadebinder subclasses. Destiny 2 Update Preview for March 16 PatchStrikes:

Weapons
Stasis Tuning Preview for March 23 PatchBefore we dive in to the patch notes, we have a few words from the team to walk through the goals of this tuning pass:
Hunter
Titan
Warlock
General
If any issues are found over the next week, some of these changes may be delayed to a future date. Check out the Player Support Report below for more details and stay tuned to @BungieHelp for updates on our timelines. They Do Vote in HerdsIf you missed the TWAB last week, we held our first ever community survey to determine which upcoming Festival of the Lost ornament set would be available. Movie Monsters vs Dinosaurs, or #TeamMonsters vs #TeamDinos if you were watching Twitter trends. Truth be told, we saw many more votes than anticipated. There were just over 200,000 votes cast, but a clear winner emerged. Our scientists were more preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should! All said and done, we have a clear winner. Dinosaurs win!For all of you monster-movie lovers, do not fret! While #TeamDinos have won the day by a fairly significant margin (Ex: Titans voted #TeamDino at 81% to #TeamMonsters at 19%), there's still opportunity in the future for these sweet armor ornaments to see the light of day. Many thanks to all who participated in this first stab at a community vote! This wasn't just exciting to watch unfold throughout the community conversation, but we had a great time watching the data as it built a clear story of which ornament sets would be chosen. While we won't hold votes for everything we do in Destiny, we're excited to do more of these in the future. Stay tuned! Patch PrepNext week brings another update to Destiny 2, but for some Guardians in the states, you'll also be setting your clocks forward an hour. Yes, the age-old tradition of losing an hour of sleep for reasons that people can't seem to remember anymore is here once again. Alright, now that I've gotten my complaints out of the way, let's get to the important stuff from Destiny Player Support. This is their report. Players who observe other issues should report them to our #Help forum. 12 What Now?I'm going to be real with you all. I'm terrified of flying. It's one of my biggest fears, even if there shouldn't be anything scary about flying through the air in a huge metal tube at ridiculous speeds. In any case, the winners this week capitalized on my fears, as they decided to go over the max weight limit of a Fallen Skiff. Movie of the Week: Max Occupancy Has Been Reached
Movie of the Week: Affection Shanty of the Week: Runnin' To Europa Alrighty, that's it! Show's over! You don't have to go home and you're more than welcome to stay here, but still … show's over! If you'd like to submit a video for MOTW, throw a post on the Bungie.net Creations page. Make sure to link your Bungie.net profile in the description so we know where to deliver your emblem when you win. SecretServitorWhile hunting for Art of the Week picks this week, I noticed a fun hashtag on numerous posts throughout the feed: #SecretServitor. A few community members put on a fun art exchange, full of kickass Warlocks, beautiful images of Crow, and some other fun surprises. It's always awesome stumbling across group- or clan-hosted events. Below you'll find a handful of their submissions, but we highly recommend scrolling through the hashtag for more! Art of the Week: Season of the Chosen Render
Art of the Week: Nova with no Warp
For the winners, expect a direct message from us. We have a sweet emblem for you to sport in Destiny 2! If you'd like to submit art to be featured in future weeks, make sure to tag your content with #DestinyArt, #Destiny2Art, or #DestinyArtBread! Well, that last one is totally optional, but we would love to see what you're cooking up. Here we are. A full year of working remotely. Last year, I said that our weekly TWAB installments have been helping to keep my head focused on what day it is, but I must admit, I find myself asking what year it is more often than not. It's been March for about 12 months now, but I'm happy to say that things are starting to get brighter with each passing day. Cheers to the fireteams that have been keeping each other company over this last year. Cheers to those who have been staying safe, supporting charities, and doing whatever they can to help their communities through these times. You continue to serve as a light for those enduring some dark times, and this world is a better place thanks to you. As we head into the weekend, I'll be spending some time with my Grandmaster fireteam figuring out what days and times we'll be hitting the activity. We earned our initial Conqueror titles in Season of Arrivals together, and I'm pretty excited to go for Gild with the same group. Yeah yeah, "friendgame is the true endgame" gets meme'd on every so often, but I'll be damned if I don't admit that this fireteam has been the sickest loot I've ever gotten from Destiny. I hope you're able to form the similar bonds through clans and friendships found in the Destiny community. They don't come often, but when they do, they can last a lifetime. Cheers, dmg04 [link] [comments] |

If Caiatl offers us a pet warbeast, I would switch sides in an instant. Posted: 11 Mar 2021 11:29 AM PST War beasts are the dogs of the destiny universe, and we're being offered an alliance with someone who could give us one? My guardian needs a good boy :) [link] [comments] |
Posted: 11 Mar 2021 06:46 PM PST This, and have him shout gambit one liners at us while he attempts to smash the ever loving motes out of players in the arena. Maybe we could even get a special emblem for being in a gambit match when drifters handsome dark doppelganger spawns? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 11 Mar 2021 04:41 PM PST At least I can get three blues to dismantle into gunsmith materials. While winning an endgame PvP match gives a single token :| [link] [comments] |
Posted: 11 Mar 2021 05:07 AM PST I'm so tired of seeing people go for 15 when all we need is 6 Stop fucking around and put your motes in the bank Just turn around, run back to the center of the map and deposit your motes All too often I see someone try for 15 and end up dying because they were alone, surrounded by enemies while everyone waited because we deposited our motes All too often I see someone hang back long enough for the other team to put a blocker in and take the lead when the person was trying to get more motes for a bigger blocker I don't care if you have 3 motes if the drifter says put the motes in the bank, put the motes in the bank Edit: after talking it seems my main issue is that people are actively choosing a team game and then knowingly choosing to not play as a team member Edit 2: people seem to be surprised there are those of us out there that dare play a game to win. We are out there, not just in gambit but there are the same people in crucible. I don't play crucible often but when I do I make sure I play accordingly Also, to the people who keep saying, "Bounties" if you've played 3 games of gambit and you STILL haven't gotten a large blocker, you're probably going to have to play 4 anyway. If you haven't played 3 games why do you care, you've got more games to play [link] [comments] |
Not sure if this is known, but you can survive the crusher aboard the Glykon. Posted: 11 Mar 2021 08:18 AM PST |
So I decided to smoke a cigarette for every Bottom Dollar I get.... Posted: 11 Mar 2021 10:07 AM PST |
Posted: 11 Mar 2021 08:24 AM PST Not really a huge fan of rocking up to these threads and talking down to people like I'm better than them, but sometimes unpleasant things need to be said. I see far too many players that must have large blockers every time, especially at the start. This is of course seemingly oblivious to the fact that the initial invasion can be massive and fairly often ends up shaping the rest of the match. I see far too many players ignoring the bar at the top, indicating when an invasion is a couple of motes away. I see far too many running past the bank in that situation, when in fact their 3 or 4 can send an invader. I see far too many ignoring the massive klaxon telling them that their bank's getting drained, instead farming motes like they actually think they're helping. There is a fairly sizeable proportion of the population this week at least, that are deathly afraid of the PvP mechanic in this game mode and 1) essentially surrender and give up when they're under the tiniest amount of pressure, and 2) openly avoid invading despite the fact them not even getting any kills at all every time is still helping massively (especially if multiple blockers are up). The point of it isn't even to be some PvP phenom, coming back with Army Of One medals every time, but to at the very least distract and slow down the other team. This really isn't terribly complicated to understand. I wish there was some sort of skill-based matchmaking involved, that took all of these ultra-passive, ultra-timid players and put them all in games together so they can all join at the centre of the map and wave white flags at each other until the timer runs out. Bungie, Remember! You adjusted Chaos Reach super retention already. Don’t mess with it too much. Posted: 11 Mar 2021 05:29 PM PST I believe sometimes Bungie forgets their own words or previous fixes. Which then the player base gets upset. When you change the super energy retained after canceling Chaos Reach back to the original build - Just remember how awful it was before you boosted it. Don't nerf something way to much cough cough Nova Warp. I think adding just a few seconds is fine, but please don't obliterate it. [link] [comments] |

Drifter promised he'd make me rich if I banked those motes... Posted: 11 Mar 2021 11:44 AM PST ...and yet he refuses to give me a single (bottom) dollar. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 11 Mar 2021 07:45 PM PST At this point, Shaxx, Zavala, and Drifter loot pools serve essentially no purpose. Bungie may as well consolidate the rewards from all three and have us redeem our tokens at a single slot machine. The world building would suffer for it, but at least it'd be a streamlined experience. This post would probably be different if the playlist-specific armor weren't ugly enough to turn Medusa into stone, but it is, so here I am. At least add the weapons so that they have a chance to drop from the vendor-specific loot pools... please? [link] [comments] |
I like champions, but I don’t like only being able to use just a few weapons to deal with them Posted: 11 Mar 2021 09:17 AM PST Except for the fallen ones, I like the idea of champions and having to coordinate to deal with them, but I hate having to use whatever weapons the seasonal artifact has mods for. Bungie should add just general champion mods for every type of weapon, or at least every primary. It just sucks being locked to only a few weapons bc imo this kind of squanders build potential. [link] [comments] |
It would be sooooo cool if Drifter offered Bottom Dollar HC through Rank-up packages Posted: 11 Mar 2021 09:59 AM PST 🤪 I have been enjoying Gambit lately, hunting for an amazing bottom dollar. Sadly, all of drifters rank-up packages are dog shit, just like Shaxx's. Why not make them worth opening? [link] [comments] |
We should get an artifact unlock for every bonus power level the artifact provides. Posted: 11 Mar 2021 08:10 AM PST I'm currently at +16 power level, it'd be nice to have 16 unlocks instead of just 12. Locking the artifact at 12 is pointless. You took the time to design all these features each season that most people never try because of being limited on the unlocks. I think adding additional unlocks to the artifact would provide extra incentive to grind after reaching level 100. It will also give us a chance at different builds each season. Realistically, I only ever unlock 7 things in the artifact, because I always unlock the entire first column to deal with champions. It's not even the cost of the glimmer to reset the artifact. Hell, I'd even pay glimmer to get the extra unlock. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 11 Mar 2021 09:43 AM PST I think this would incentivize much more casual play in the playlist as well and help keep the numbers up. And even if you lose, you might still get loot. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 11 Mar 2021 06:10 AM PST Like come on Fellwinter can keep a whole city warm in freezing cold northern russia but the player (the most powerful guardian of all time) cant thaw one guardian who just got frozen in pvp? Also it would make well more viable in pvp which means more variety in what ur facing instead of the same 4 subclasses every game. Edit: that moment when you misspell the name of one of the most famous lightbearers of all time [link] [comments] |
If/When Wavesplitter gets a catalyst it should get chain reaction. Posted: 11 Mar 2021 12:40 PM PST Chain reaction is such a cool perk and it would be so cool to see it on the trace rifle that hasn't seen any use. It would be a trinity ghoul situation, bringing a very underused exotic up to level with the others. [link] [comments] |
Bungie will announce missing mod solution, but not anytime soon Posted: 11 Mar 2021 08:51 AM PST |
Can we PLEASE get the old Gambit maps back? Posted: 11 Mar 2021 07:42 AM PST Please Bungie, give us the removed Gambit maps back! I understand that if the team are completely proud of those maps but at this point we need quantity over quality because I cannot play Deep Six on a daily basis any longer, ESPECIALLY if you're going to ask us to earn 5 infamy levels this week. New maps are of course preferable but the old maps would be so refreshing right now. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 11 Mar 2021 05:29 PM PST Why did this nerf affect both PVP and PVE? The other ability and super changes were separated are the light classes coded differently or something to prevent the separate tuning because this seems like an unnecessary hit for PVE in this subclass. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 11 Mar 2021 01:24 PM PST This would be great for showing off or a good cosmetic! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 11 Mar 2021 04:47 PM PST Have Bungie ever actually addressed this? It's been going on for a long time now not just this season but it seems to be getting worse. I only play gambit to get the BD and for quests but my god it makes me want to just exit the game. [link] [comments] |
