Sunday Plz - Give Us More Gambit Maps!

    Posted: 04 Apr 2021 02:00 AM PDT

    Greetings Guardians!

Ever since the conception of this sub, we've dealt with floods of reposts. We're sure you're familiar with them. Many are for important issues that are shared by the entire player base, while others are just for personal requests and desires for the game. The Bungie Plz was shortly implemented after conception as a central "wish-list" for all that we, the community, desired. It is completely user driven. With rare exceptions, nearly all submissions are sent in by you, the users of this subreddit!

However, just like Destiny 2, our wiki article began to experience problems as it grew over time. It's been getting just a few sizes too big. We understand that the continued addition of topics has begun to encroach on your ability to continue the conversation towards matters that mean the most to you, and even though the Bungie Plz has seen so many successes over the years, with well over 100 officially implemented game suggestions and desires, there's still dozens upon dozens of retired topics that haven't seen the light of day for many months...even years!

Every Sunday, this thread will focus on a certain retired Bungie Plz topic of your choosing, voted by the users. We will curate a list of 5 suggestions to help focus your voting process, but you get the final say on what is talked about each week. By all means, if one topic is overwhelmingly desired despite not being part of those 5 items we picked, then we'll be happy to go with that one. Our curated list is only to help you focus the conversation. The only stipulation is that the topic must be new every week. This thread is for the entirety of the Bungie Plz wiki, so no back-to-back voting!

Think of these threads as a way to keep the spark alive, and to bring old topics up to fresh light. For example, do we still want to move Queenbreaker to the special slot? Or does Arbalest serve that purpose well enough now? Do we still want an all-black shader, or do we want a character barbershop more?

You tell us! This is your conversation, guardians.

For this week, you voted on:

    More Gambit Maps!

For next week, here are some suggestions:

    • Buff Tarrabah
    • Increase the teleport cooldown for powerful tier enemies
    • Let us apply shaders to exotic weapons
    • Allow Sleeper and Outbreak to generate Warmind Cells
    • Nerf/Reduce enemy boss stomps

Sound off in the sticky comment for which one sounds good (just give us a moment to put it up), or anything else in the Bungie Plz wiki that catches your eye, and we'll do our best to accommodate!

"Class x has x exotic, therefore my main should have the same exotic too"

    Posted: 04 Apr 2021 09:46 AM PDT

This seems to be a very common sentiment and while it might be good for classes to have some overlap it feels like people pretty much want every class to be able to do the exact same things. I got a simple solution for this "issue": if you like something a certain class is able to do... Why don't you just go play that class?

Bungie Plz Addition: Buff Ruinous Effigy

    Posted: 04 Apr 2021 06:47 PM PDT

    Hello Guardians,

This topic has been added to Bungie Plz.
Going forward, all posts suggesting this change will be removed and redirected to this Megathread.

    Modmail Discussion:

u/YT_KingTex100: "Why it should be added: Pre-nerf Ruinous Effigy was an exotic that awarded aggressive playstyle, one of the only ones to do so in a good manner. It was balanced because in order to use it, you'd have to be super close up, so the gaps when you didn't have a Transmutation Sphere or weren't draining enemies with one were likely to get you killed. Post-nerf Ruinous is greatly outperformed by even just a simple Warmind cell build, let alone one combined with high-DPS weapons too. Since with a Warmind build you can stay safe by just being at range, it basically just makes Ruinous completely worthless since it doesn't output nearly enough DPS with the only feature that made it viable without instant death."

    Examples given:

    Criteria Used:

"...3 examples (with links) of recent submissions (with at least 1 being over 30 days old), that have been well received (hundreds of upvotes on the front page of the sub - ex. 300+ upvotes)."

Knucklehead Radar should enable the radar in activities where it's disabled.

Just an idea. Got a great rolled one in a lost sector just now and it had me thinking.

Think the helmet is brilliant in pvp when sniping but useless in pve. Would be a nice addition and maybe the helmet would be used a bit more in late-game pve if added.

Bungie should buff Dragonfly and nerf/remove Dragonfly Spec

    Posted: 04 Apr 2021 05:56 PM PDT

Been loving my Adept Swarm with Outlaw and Dragonfly, however I can't even make use of the main aspect of the Adept weapons, because I am forced to run Dragonfly Spec to make DF usable. I would love to run Adept Big Ones or Adept Mag, but Dragonfly without the mod is laughably bad. If DF would be too powerful after a buff with DF Spec in the same spot, then I am all for a nerf/removal of the mod.

bungie, please add more looking sensitivity options for controller

    Posted: 04 Apr 2021 03:37 PM PDT

Didn't see many people talking about this, so basically what the title says. I play many fps and when i come back to destiny i feel my character is extremely slow even though i use 10 sensitivity and have traction on my boots all the time.

Dont know how difficult it would be, but i would love for the team to really take this into consideration, maybe take the number up to 20 sensitivity max, in order to make controller gameplay feel more fluid

If the Cold Denial is an omolon weapon that shoots kinetic bullets, can I pray to the foundry gods to just make an omolon kinetic legendary fusion for variety's sake?

Literally just want options other than Bastion. Love the gun, not the exotic slot, and especially not all the hate mail from 120/felwinter wielders. As if it were hard to counter.

Hey Bungo, you reckon we could get any more Aggressive Burst Pulse Rifles, please?

    Posted: 04 Apr 2021 09:27 AM PDT

Title says it all really. I loved the feeling of my old Go Figure and Right Side of Wrong throughout all of Forsaken. Sacred Provenance really isn't doing it for me though, the sound isn't quite right imo. I loved the noise of the OG aggressive bursts, even when they weren't top tier weapons, it just made them so fun to use

edit: i completely forgot about blast furnace, i used to love that thing too

Dear Bungie: Please fix the bug in the cube room in Prophecy

    Posted: 04 Apr 2021 07:32 AM PDT

Title. The amount of times my solo run has been scuffed just as I'm doing well is too damn high. It's a big activity and needs a fix, especially since many people are going for flawless and solo runs, its disheartening to do well and get stopped here because you can't proceed.

The 1330 difficult Nightmare Hunt Timetrials are as easy as they will ever be for Solo's

    Posted: 04 Apr 2021 05:28 PM PDT

Hey all, I've been working through some older content, I wanted to go through and get some titles and whatnot before they get vaulted (assuming they will at some point.)

It's a real bitch to find a team on LFG for these since they are older content with no unique useful rewards, I decided to try my hand at it solo during season of the hunt and got freaking wrecked, so I was dreading going back.

As it turns out, Passive Guard, Lament, Full dreambane with mods, and all the sword ammo finders you can pack on combined with 2 melee damage resistance is ungodly. I chewed through Phogoth, Ghaul, and Crota like it was nothing, accidentaly did Phogoth flawless and got that triumph.

Passive Guard is one hell of a mod, also right now specifically the nightmare hunts have the mod on that requires restorative light for healing which makes it even easier. When you pick one up you heal ultra quick until you reach full health, which means if you're constantly taking damage you are damn neared immortal. I had to rely on this for the Crota one as I wanted the additional mobility of icarus dash and couldn't rely on devour like I typically would.

I know it's niche, and most people don't give a damn about this content or aren't solo players, but hopefully this helps someone.

New players here, wife and I. After exploring all PC video game download stores, wife and I decided to jump into D2 and give it a chance, F2P, why not. After downloading it, tutorial, kids distracting, we didn't get to play enough, but,,,, we are excited to play more tomorrow!

So far It just feels so fun, and looks so cool. We're not hardcore gamers, just looking for something different from Fortnite and COD. I don't really have a real question I can't google, just wanted to join the community here 1st. Anything we should know or do? She's playing with an Xbox controller, myself with kb and mouse. Any other preferred sub? Excited to try co-op with her tomorrow.

Is drop rate of [weapon/armor/catalyst/material] bugged? Nope. Welcome to Destiny, where RNG is a big part of the game.

    Posted: 04 Apr 2021 01:44 PM PDT

I see countless posts in /new and in the daily question thread about drops being "bugged", whether it's not getting exotics to drop in Legend/Master Lost Sectors, or running DSC 30+ times with no Eyes of Tomorrow, or turning in 10,000 gun mats to Banshee and not getting True Prophecy, or running 50 Vanguard strikes without seeing Royal Entry, or playing Gambit for 3 hours without getting Bottom Dollar. THESE DROPS ARE ALL DETERMINED BY RNG.

    Random. Number. Generator.

Random is the key word. Your buddy can run DSC once and get EoT to drop while you are on clear number 50 without it. You can read about someone getting 3 exotics in 6 Lost Sector runs while you ran 20 without a drop.

If this type of randomness drives you absolutely nuts, maybe this isn't the game for you, or you should stick to end game activities like Trials, Raids, and Dungeons that have set loot tables and guaranteed drops (although still with randomness on perk/stat rolls and specific slot drops).

If Bungie is going to bring back Vault of Glass, they should port the Timebreaker

    Posted: 04 Apr 2021 02:24 PM PDT

They should port the Timebreaker raid sparrow, its the best sparrow from Destiny 1!

As a Hunter who has used nothing but Athrys's Embrace in PvP for awhile. This Exotic is amazing.

    Posted: 04 Apr 2021 12:59 PM PDT

Athrys's Embrace: Dealing precision damage gives Weighted knife bonus damage and allows it to bounce twice.

The bonus damage allows the knife to oneshot body any Guardian regardless of their resilience.

it can body any super that's at half shield while flat out oneshotting supers with a headshot.

The throwing knife only tracks with the second bounce so there are two ways to this exotic

The first way is to throw your knife at the floor and into a wall when dealing with a guardian in open areas. This allows your knife to instantly home in on Guardians regardless of how far, high or low they are compared to the position of the knife bounce. Also if you want to get greedy and get precision kills with it you can also bounce your knife off the ceiling and into the wall but I don't recommend this since it only worked for me a few times.

The second way is simple, if your enemy is in a closed spaced where the walls are parallel and close. Always and I mean ALWAYS bounce your knife off the wall and not the floor because this way allows your knife to catch guardians moving in that space whereas floor/wall relies on the guardian standing still near the corner.

I got a decent example of these two tricks in action during a rumble match the first knife was floor/wall and the second was wall/wall, wide area and small area.

Also one more thing, be very considerate where you bounce your knives too, all it takes is a little bump or curve on the environment to cause your knife to bounce in a random direction or even not bounce at all. Basically don't use this Exotic on the map Cauldron unless you're ballsy.

I'm not a god with this exotic so take everything with a grain of salt but I've been having a lot of success with these gauntlets lately so I thought giving my opinion on them would help someone.

Destiny 2 DLC is on sale on Steam/Xbox/PSN! What should I buy? A quick guide.

    Posted: 04 Apr 2021 01:11 AM PDT

Been seeing this question a lot lately, so here's a quick guide to currently available Destiny content to help you make an informed decision.

How many Destiny 2 expansions/DLCs are there, and what are they?

In order of release, we have:

    • Destiny 2 (Red War Campaign)
    • Curse of Osiris
    • Warmind
    • Forsaken
    • Shadowkeep
    • Beyond Light

The first three have been vaulted and are no longer in the game. The base version of Destiny 2 is free, so that leaves Forsaken, Shadowkeep, and Beyond Light available for purchase.

Help me out here. What's the difference between the 3 available expansions?

Destiny is all about continually moving forward, and as such the most recent expansion will always have the most relevant content for increasing your character's level and building out your arsenal. Forsaken and Shadowkeep have campaigns that won't help much with leveling as most of the weapons and armor you earn can not reach the current maximum power level. Beyond Light will give you relevant gear as you play through the campaign and includes multiple activities that will help you reach the maximum power level (1310 as of this writing), and it also includes the new Stasis subclass to unlock.

Ok, it sounds like there's no reason to own the old expansions. Why should I consider them?

Forsaken and Shadowkeep still have relevant content, including strikes, dungeons, raids, and exotic weapons and armor. If you want to play end game content at all, you will miss out on having all the available exotics to use, and the weekly Nightfall strike won't be playable if it is a week that the strike is from one of these two DLCs. If you're into Destiny lore and storytelling, you also may miss not having played through the campaigns.

Ok, so what should I buy?

My personal recommendation is to buy Beyond Light first, and if it hooks you and you find yourself playing all the time and getting serious about end game content, then buy Forsaken and Shadowkeep once you've been hooked. You'll miss out on a few references here and there to story from those campaigns, but that's going to happen anyways since there are references to events from D1 and from D2 stories that aren't in the game anymore. If you're pretty confident you're ready to go "all in" on D2, then go ahead and get all 3.

What about other editions of the game? And what about seasons?

There's two bundled versions currently available: the Legendary edition and the Beyond Light Deluxe edition. The Legendary edition includes all 3 of the mentioned expansions, plus access to the current season pass. Beyond Light Deluxe includes Beyond Light, plus all 4 of this year's season passes. In addition to major expansions, Destiny runs on a seasonal model to keep new content coming between major releases. Seasons run on a roughly 3 month schedule. Owning the season pass gives you access to exclusive cosmetic items, exotic weapons, seasonal activities, and quests. Note that we are already in the second season of the year (Season 13), so if you buy the Deluxe edition, you'll miss out on some of last season's exclusive cosmetic items, but you can still do the activity and exotic quest tied to that season. Season passes run for $10, so you'll have to look at the sale price of these two editions and run the numbers to determine which one makes sense for you.

EDIT: As many have pointed out, all the expansions are on Gamepass on Xbox, so check that out if you're on console. The expansions are not on Gamepass for PC but will be added sometime later this year.

Ok, This is getting to be too much. What is going on with FPS on PC!??!

    Posted: 04 Apr 2021 01:56 PM PDT

************EDIT*****************This was recorded April 5, 2020. Look at the top right. Apparently people think my FPS wasn't as high as i say it was. - https://youtu.be/96pqXcZNQRU

Everyone's all upset over FPS in orbit. That FPS has dropped down to about 100-120

This is some footage i managed to find of where my FPS was before beyond light (around july/august) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=96pqXcZNQRU My FPS issues started before this point. As of now, PvP games are rough since now the game randomly has fps drop to below 25 in the middle of matches. Every now and then ican make it through a day without having it happen, but it's something that occurs more often than not.

None of the info/suggestions on bungie.net (found here: CVARS Guide: CVARS Troubleshooting and Setting a Framerate Cap – Bungie Help and here: [BNG] PC FPS Issues Megathread - UPDATE Jan. 29 > Help | Forums | Bungie.net ) Have helped at all.

I used to get anywhere between 170-240fps, and now since the last maintenance they did I'm capped at 40fps.

I haven't changed ANY of my settings for video since the game came out, but it seems each freaking update that bungie does since season of Arrivals, it knocks FPS down more and more. At first it started off being in just PvP while PvE my FPS remained unchanged. Then last season FPS in PvP was down to about 60-80FPS. Now EVERYTHING is capped at 40FPS while playing.

Is there ANYONE who's found a definitive fix??

This is what I'm running below.

    SCREEN: 1920×1080 IPS display at 17.3 inches (127 PPI) refresh - 120OS: Windows 10 Home x64CPU: 2.8GHz Core i7-7700HQ (Turbo Boost up to 3.8GHz)RAM: 16GB 2400MHz DDR4GPU: Intel HD 630 (integrated) paired with Nvidia GTX 1060 with 6GB GDDR5 RAMHDD: 256GB PCIe M.2 SSD, 2TB HDD (5400rpm)
