    Trials of Osiris is LIVE

This thread is for all general discussion, questions, thoughts, musings, wonderings, etc. for the Trials of Osiris.

    FAQ

    What is Trials of Osiris?

    • Trials of Osiris is the pinnacle PvP activity. Every Weekend, the best players compete in 3v3 Elimination for one goal: Go Flawless.

    • To start, head to Saint-14 in the Tower Hangar and buy one of the possible passages (see below).

    • To reach Flawless and get to the Lighthouse, you need to win 7 matches without losing one.

    • It uses Win Based Matchmaking, which means you'll face teams with a similar amount of wins on their card. Matches will get harder as you win more matches.

    • There is NO fireteam matchmaking. You need to team up yourself!

    • Power Level matters, however bonus power from the artifact is not enabled.

How Long do the Trials of Osiris last?

    • Event Starts: Every Friday at Daily Reset (1700 UTC).

    • Event Ends: Following Tuesday at Weekly Reset (1700 UTC).

Where do I go to find Guardians to compete with in the Trials?

    • You can head over to /r/Fireteams, www.The100.io, Xbox LFG system, DestinyLFG.net or DestinyLFG.com, or go to the Bungie.net recruitment forum (also available through the Bungie App).

What if I have a question about another piece of armor/weapon or general Trials question?

    • Use Control + F (Or Command + F if on a Mac) and search for keywords in your question. Someone may have asked it already. If they haven't ask right below.

This is the YEET Glitch that everyone is talking about.

    Posted: 21 May 2021 08:56 PM PDT

    The Warlock Yeet Glitch

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FCuYlaDoSU0&ab_channel=JB3

We've been holding onto this one for awhile. Our plan was to keep this a secret until we figured out if we can YEET Atheon or not.

    How to do this glitch:

    1. Be a stasis Warlock.

    2. Pop your super.

    3. Jump in the air and boost.

    4. Die before you hit the ground. (stay in your boost)

    5. Jump and hold boost forward into enemy to YEET them.

You have to repeat this 4 or 5 times for maximum YEETing capabilities. So keep in mind that you'll need about 20 minutes to set this up in PVP if you're solo.

There are many things that CANCEL this glitch. So if it's not working for you, read this list.

    THIS WILL CANCEL THE GLITCH:

    1. Bringing up the director or character menu cancels the glitch.
    2. Leaving or entering a new zone cancels the glitch.
    3. Someone leaving or joining your Fireteam cancels the glitch.
    4. Wiping cancels the glitch.

    THIS WON'T CANCEL THE GLITCH:

    1. Dying doesn't cancel the glitch.
    2. Riding a vehicle doesn't cancel the glitch.
    3. Respawning or res-ing someone else doesn't cancel the glitch.
    4. Class abilities/casting super doesn't cancel the glitch.

Some enemies/bosses can't be YEETed. You'll have to play around with it to figure out what will or won't.

    What CAN be YEETED?

    Morgeth CAN be YEETED.

Taniks CAN be YEETED. (but teleports back to the arena)

Multiple Strike Bosses CAN be YEETED.

    Fireteam members CAN be YEETED.

Atheon....we'll find out tomorrow, but judging by Bungie's tweet...it's probably possible.

This video was made before Vault of Glass was released.

To D2 Only Players: the VoG Secret Boss

    Posted: 21 May 2021 07:32 PM PDT

Considering how there's absolutely no mention of it anywhere in the game and you'd otherwise think you were done with the raid if you didn't know; here's how you start the fight against Xylar the Timeless, the secret boss of the raid that offers the final exotic chest.

Once you've completed the Atheon encounter, walk up to the giant gap in the glass throne and jump off the ledge into the abyss below. If your entire fireteam follows with you, the seven headed hydra will spawn and you can start the fight. Good luck to you all, and thanks to SmoggyPluto for discovering this so many years ago!

Override: STOP burning the boss if a treasure goblin spawns.

    Posted: 21 May 2021 12:48 PM PDT

We know you can do massive DPS, good for you.
We are all grinding Override for Decrypted Data. When you nuke the boss as soon as you can and send us all to the "Treasure Goblin Despawning room" you are just slowing yourself and the rest of us down from getting an extra bit of data.

If you see a glowing shiny enemy, do your cool boom on him instead. You get a good chunk of extra decrypted data (30ish)

Also don't deposit motes just to get into the lockdown mode when someone just went inside the portal, we want the data spikes so we can spawn the treasure goblin.

Yours Digitally, The other blue dots on your radar.

The HELM takes 10 seconds to load Into, Bungie plz add a cryptarch to make it legit

    Posted: 21 May 2021 01:15 PM PDT

I often times just want to empty my postmaster or get rid of engrams real quick and I much prefer the HELM to the tower recently as it takes literally 10 seconds for me to load in solo (timed w a stopwatch Xbox series x. If there was a cryptarch I would not have to go to the tower nearly as often. Would be great to have a shooting range/tribute hall type area too even if it was separate.

People saying that it would replace the tower, or make it useless, well maybe it should, I personally think they should make the "social zone" well social, make some kind of lfg type system there so people can find people to play with or something.

How to trigger the Overload Submachine Gun Mod

    Posted: 21 May 2021 08:38 AM PDT

Another season with the Overload Submachine Gun Mod is upon us, so here's a rundown on how this mod triggers since there tends to be a lot of misinformation surrounding it.

The Overload Shot (OS) buff for SMGs occur at 1 second of continuous fire. You do not need to hit a target for it to count, you can shoot a wall/ground/teammate's head, or even all three, and after 1 second of continuous fire you will get the buff. The buff lasts for one second, and all shots fired during that 1 second buff can disrupt overload champs.

For some reason you can only get one OS buff per magazine even if you have enough ammo to fire continuously for 3 seconds. The only way to get more than one OS buff per magazine is by taking your finger off the trigger for a split second which resets the timer and allows you to proc the buff again after 1 second of continuous fire. This is especially important on auto-reloading SMGs like Huckleberry and Riskrunner. I used Huckleberry and fired it for 15 seconds, or about 188 shots without releasing the trigger. It only proc'd OS once, and it proc'd it after the first 13 shots, which is in line with 750 RPM SMGs. If it proc'd every 13 shots, it would have proc'd 14 times instead of 1.

Ammo required in magazine to get 1 second of continuous fire and stun:

-Precision Frame: 600 RPM require 12 shots (11 to proc + 1 to stun)

-Aggressive Frame: 750 RPM require 14 shots (13 to proc + 1 to stun)

-Lightweight Frame: 900 RPM require 17 shots (16 to proc + 1 to stun)

If you don't have at least as much ammo as listed above, you might as well stop and reload because you will not proc the OS buff with any ammo left to actually fire.

Also, even if an overload champ is immune to stun because it was just stunned, it is not immune to the ability/health regen debuff that OS provides. The debuff is even applied through servitor shields.

Throne of Atheon Emote... Why is it a bundle Bungie?

    Posted: 21 May 2021 01:32 PM PDT

So we got a new Bundle to purchase to "celebrate the release of Vault of Glass" including an emote and 1100 silver. Can we take a moment to appreciate the fact that we get a new raid emote similar to luxurious toast which tbh looks really good, but why is it a silver bundle?

This will create a huge backlash at bungo since they showed with luxurious toast that they can add emotes to raids but instead chose to make a new bundle which costs 15€ without even having the ability to but it as is. It's basically saying: "We know u want cosmetics from raids, now give us 15€ for nostalgia, also pls dont notice that we wont give u the option to only buy the emote so that we can make more money, thx."

    Just why

Bungie, please give us a different icon for Powerful and Pinnacle drops on the Destinations/Director menu

    Posted: 21 May 2021 04:17 AM PDT

We had this back in the day for soft-cap and hard-cap drops (which worked in a similar way to the current powerful & pinnacle cap work), if I recall correctly.

We had two different icons for powerfuls back in the day. One for dailies, another for weeklies. Thanks everyone for reminding me that the icons were actually for.

Here's what it looked like back in the day.

If you look at Earth, in the image above, it has three icons tied to it. From left to right, they corresponded to: soft-cap, hard-cap, and planetary vendor (this one isn't important for this post).

The first one (yellow circle with a cross inside), which has gone unused for a while now, could be used for the powerful drops. And the second/middle one (full yellow circle with a "star" inside) would be for pinnacle drops only (right now it is used for both powerfuls and pinnacles).

Would make it a lot easier to visually identify where and what powerfuls and pinnacles you still have left to do.

For everyone saying: "This is for the illiterate" or "Don't need this, I can read", you're completely missing the point.

Everyone can read. The issue is that you need to click on every single destination, find the powerful/pinnacle activity within the patrol zone map, hover over it, and see if it's a powerful or a pinnacle.

When you have a single pinnacle missing, it instantly becomes annoying when you need to check every single icon just to find the pinnacle drop. And sometimes you end up missing the pinnacle because you can have like 3-4 powerful drops in a single destination and you forgot about something that also gives you. Or when you're out of pinnacles but still check everything to make sure... Can you see how many pinnacles you have by checking Braytech, for example? Yes. But we shouldn't require the use of 20 different websites for minimal stuff like this.

I forgot about the simulation on Europa, for example. There are like 3 or 4 drops there, and sometimes you think you checked everything even though you didn't. Because let's keep in mind that the game doesn't tell you out many pinnacles/powerfuls each destination has, so you don't know if its 1, 2, 4, etc.. Unless you remember every single potential powerful and pinnacle drop at all times. Which at that point, I'm gonna look for you and kill you since you're clearly a filthy Vex, not a human.

More exotics with innate anti-champion capabilities would be pretty neat

    Posted: 21 May 2021 12:44 AM PDT

More specifically, more anti-barrier and anti-overload exotics, since there are already three anti-unstoppable exotics (Four if you count Athrys's Embrace).

It could be used as a way to help some under utilized exotics see some more play, and there are already some exotics that feel well themed to become anti-champion, such as:

    Anti-barrier: - Wish-Ender - Sleeper simulant - Darci

Anti-Overload: - Malfeasance - Hard Light - Anarchy - (edit: please... Le Monarque)

This could also apply to underpowered/underused armor:

Stormdancer's Brace - Each enemy you defeat with Stormtrance increases the damage you deal with Stormtrance. Stormtrance damage staggers overload champions.

Oathkeepers: - Bows charges can be held indefinitely. Fully drawn bows can pierce barrier champion shields.

Stronghold: - Maximizes guard stats on equipped swords. Shots blocked immediately after guarding will heal you. Blocking damage grants the ability to stagger unstoppable champions with sword strikes for a short time.

    Just a thought.

Do NOT shard a subsistence firefly combo on hung jury

    Posted: 21 May 2021 06:32 PM PDT

Firefly kills proc subsistence making it an incredibly good crowd clearer. And subsistence got a buff this season that made it so it didn't reduce reserves anymore.

You get two bullets back with every kill but if you blow up three enemies along with one tapping a dreg, goblin, etc. you get half of your mag reloaded from reserves.

Bungie, pls say at least SOMETHING about your plans for PvP

    Posted: 21 May 2021 04:08 AM PDT

First of, I'm a PvE main. Why?
Because those of you who play PvP probably know why (and I like the unique challenges and story PvE offers). Secondly, this will be a post with complaints and whatnot, some might say even salty. It'll probably be ignored or downvoted, but frankly, I don't care. I want my voice to be out there.

I've played Ironbanner with all my 3 chars this week, a somewhat tradition I like to do with each new season. But that's about it, after that I'm pretty much burned out for PvP for the rest of the season. Between getting frozen, spawnkilled (with or without a super), getting mapped by Felwinters (or any other Shotgun like Astral) and overall just pure suffering whilst playing the same old modes on the same old maps, between all that I rarely have fun. I'm your average Joe when it comes to skill, at least in PvP. I can hold my own, sometimes I top score, sometimes I bottom score or something in between.

I try to keep it short but I can't make any promises, however PvP overall is in need of new content and updates. Not nerfs or buffs, those a sandbox changes and NOT new content as Bungie might think. New maps, new modes, better way to pursue rewards etc., that's new content. What happend to the modes like Vehicle Combat from D1? Now we could have it back with the Tanks from D2, imagine how awesome that would be. Or what about Rift? I wasn't a huge fan of it but it had it cult following. What happend to all those modes?
Oh and can Ironbanner PLEASE be something BESIDES Control? What about Ironbanner Mayhem like in Destiny 1?
Or just a simple TDM. I don't like the fact that when a team has all 3 zones, the other team has to hide because you can't really score many points.

There's more I could write but the point I'm trying to make is, that Bungie is completely ignoring the issues in PvP. Yes they are aware of bugs or OP stuff and dissable something if they have to, but they haven't said ANYTHING about new modes (besides Momentum Control and Team Scorched being back, yay...), maps or other stuff. At least share your IDEAS with us (or with those who play PvP the most). SPEAK, say something. Acknowledge your communitys concerns instead of posting TWABs about VoG or Fallen Babies (they are cute tho ngl). SHARE your stuff with us, speak and tell us your plans. Be transparent. All this silent regarding PvP angers me and I'm certain it angers others as well.

    Challenge XP Clarification

    Posted: 21 May 2021 09:05 AM PDT

    Source: https://www.bungie.net/en/News/Article/50377

We've noticed some confusion around Seasonal Challenge XP payouts this Season and wanted to clear up some miscommunications on our part.

First, there was a bug last Season where players who had earned XP bonuses from Season 12's Season Pass, did not have these bonuses reset at the start of Season 13. This carry-over resulted in Season 13 Challenges paying out much greater XP than intended. Rather than opt to fix the bug midseason, we decided to leave it in place and let players continue to benefit from it. We mistakenly did not acknowledge this bug during Season 13, and we missed it in the 3.2.0 patch notes for Season 14.

The change we did call out in the 3.2.0 patch notes was the addition of a new XP payout size for Seasonal Challenges, called "Extra Large XP." This payout is comparable to the amount of XP that players need to earn to complete half of a Season Pass rank.

With the addition of these Extra Large XP payouts, we also changed the overall naming convention. The reason we moved to this new naming convention was to better highlight that the XP payouts from challenges were larger than from other bounties and activities that show XP as a reward. We did not clearly explain this change, nor was the new naming convention easy to understand. These name changes led to confusion as players began tackling their Week-1 challenges. We understand and agree that the Season 14 name changes are confusing, and the team is looking to update the names for clarity in a future patch. For the time being, here is a quick look at how Seasonal Challenge XP payouts have been updated.

Season 13 Season 14 Base Payout Size Base Payout Size (Well-Rested)*
Extra Large XP 0.25 Ranks 0.5 Ranks
XP x2 Extra Large XP 0.5 Ranks 1.0 Ranks
Double XP x4 Extra Large XP 1.0 Ranks 2.0 Ranks
4x XP x8 Extra Large XP 2.0 Ranks 4.0 Ranks

*May fluctuate depending on active XP bonuses

[EDITOR'S NOTE 5/21/21 – For clarity, we have added a new column to the above table to differentiate between base payout size (when no additional XP bonuses are in place) and payout sizes with the "Well-Rested" XP bonus. Additional XP buffs can also cause further increases in XP payouts.]

Seasonal Challenges are still your go-to resource for consistent XP. Players who complete all Seasonal Challenges will still exceed level 100 in the Season Pass. We know XP in Destiny 2 can be confusing - sometimes to the point that we miss things ourselves.

We apologize for the confusion with these changes. All in all, between the shifts to the Seasonal Challenge XP payouts and the XP bonus bug fix, we expect players to earn XP and progress through the Season Pass at a similar rate as they did in Season 12. We will keep an eye on the data and your feedback and let you know if we need to make any changes this Season or in Season 15.

    KWTD or be kicked

    Posted: 21 May 2021 06:43 AM PDT

Fireteams listed with this title are ones i won't join even if I did KWTD well.....

Sure ask a guardian if they are above certain light level or KWTD before joining if that's what you looking for.....

But if you put "or be kicked" in your fireteam then i just assume you're not gonna be fun to play with and not bother....

EDIT: ok this post more controversial then I thought it would be so I think I should clarify

This is not me saying abolish KWTD and carry every noob that joins you to the moon, im just saying that there are nicer and more approachable ways to find experienced teams for quick or optimal runs using LFG

Usually its enough to just type in " KWTD Quick run" and inexperienced players won't join ......but I can Guarantee that if you type in "KWTD or be kicked" then a lot of experienced players won't play with you either....

Basically just be a LITTLE nicer and more people will want to play with you......if that's not your thing then by all means keep doing what you are doing and we will just keep avoiding you like you're gambit.

EDIT EDIT: For that one guy who asked and solo players that dunno why everyone is saying KWTD ...it means "Know What To Do"

What's the most obscure piece of Destiny information you know?

    Posted: 21 May 2021 09:16 AM PDT

Post em in the comments, I'm curious.

    Mine is probably this:

There was a brief period of time, well before even the D1 beta had come out, there was a build of the game where Thorn dropped from a raid on Mars called "Charlamagne's Vault". It was also described as "glowing like starlight" iirc, whatever the fuck that means.

I read this tidbit in a game informer article about a private look at a very early build of Destiny, it was one of the first major info dumps about what the game was going to be like that we ever got.

Edit: I should also add that I'm pretty sure at the time of the gameinformer article this Charlemagne was supposed to be the warmind on Mars.

Stasis- 100 int 100 recov 100 mobil, light 90 int 100 recov 90 mobil.Even if stasis will be nerfed to the same position as light subc I wont stop using it because the stat bonus.Having the best abilities in the game +stats is too much.Give light subs bonus to stats or pvp will be stasis town until new subclass.I am bored of stasis, but I forced to use it in trials because of how good it is in comparison to light subc. Please bungie, aspect and fragment system is good to have in light, but it looks like we have to wait years until we will get it.Just give stat bonus, that will be enough for light to be in the same spot as stasis. Edit №1 omg how many upvotes, thx u guys.I will try to answer everyone who want to have discussion with me about this.

Opinion: it’s okay to not KWTD

    Posted: 21 May 2021 12:00 PM PDT

Destiny vet and long time raider here.

If you don't know what to do for a raid, whether you're a new-light or not (even if you just need a refresher) do not be afraid to ask. It is okay to not know what you are doing, we've all been there for every raid. Unless you come across elitist assholes, most of the raiding community will be happy to teach and provide resources.

    HOWEVER!

Do not lie about knowing what you are doing! We can tell most of the time. People do check clears. Please do not join a KWTD post expecting to get carried, it defeats the point of the post (which is for fast clears). Please do not start a KWTD post expecting people to teach you, 99% of the time people will leave.

I am willing to teach those who don't know what they are doing. Raiding is a lot of fun to learn. But please do not waste the time, patience, and kindness of fellow guardians.
