Bungie's leaked secret plan to save Trials

Managed to steal this pic straight from Luke Smith's fridge. It shows Trials loot pool for next season in an effort to save the mode. They finally did it

The closing ceremony is just embarrassing

How can you put this on a roadmap and seriously pit this out? Stand in a circle and get a sparkle.....it's actually hilarious. I know it's a free event but wow, just don't put closing ceremony on the road map.

No More Exotics with Random Rolls, Please and Thank You.

    Posted: 07 May 2021 07:27 AM PDT

Yes, I love Dead Man's Tale, yes, it's a great weapon with a really fun exotic perk and catalyst, but it's pretty maddening that the gun can roll with so many perk options, particularly perks that don't complement each other well.

IMHO, the entire point of an exotic weapon is that it's (1) one of a kind and (2) curated, i.e., the devs have actually put time and effort into coming up with a combination of perks that synergize well with that gun and/or promote a specific type of play.

But here, we have an exotic weapon that will often drop with a crap roll not worth using. A Dead Man's Tale that rolls with Outlaw and Flared Magwell is getting sharded immediately. Similarly, A Dead Man's Tale that rolls with no perks increasing its handling is also going in the bin.

There is absolutely no acceptable reason that an exotic weapon should roll with subpar perks or perks that do not complement each other.

I have no problem with Bungie giving us a very limited pool of A-tier perks on exotics. I'm thinking of D1 raid weapons or D1 Trials weapons, where the rolls were static except for the final perk slot, and the final perk slot could roll one of 4 top-tier perks that were all viable (see Doctrine of Passing).

But giving us an oversized perk pool on an exotic and subjecting us to just plain bad perk roll combinations is insulting. It feels like the devs just lazily built another hamster wheel for us to run, and moreover it dilutes the exotic-ness of this weapon.

TL;DR - For future exotics, either give us fully curated rolls, or limit the roll combinations to perks that synergize. Take your exotic hamster wheel and GTFO.

People are getting really hyped for Hung Jury's return as if it's not gonna be outclassed in pretty much every scenario like every other 180 RPM scout.

    Posted: 07 May 2021 04:30 AM PDT

It's gonna be the same story as with Shadow Price. Players get hyped for its return, they finally get it, then they realize its archetype is in a really bad spot and they'll most likely never use it again.

It's most likely gonna struggle to find any sort of viability anywhere and I find it really weird that they often seem to reissue weapons that were very popular during a certain time in D1, but with hoe things have changed since their prime, most of them are now in a really underperforming archetype so the weapons are only a shell of their former self when they return.

Bungie if the new playlist weapons have perk lists as comically large as Bottom Dollar, the drop rate for playlist weapons needs to be increased dramatically

    Posted: 07 May 2021 04:48 AM PDT

Trying to farm these weapons for god rolls is tedious enough already, diluting the loot pools with 4 additional weapons would make it borderline impossible.

And drop rate buff or no: now that there are 5 weapons in each playlist loot pool, they should be the only weapons that drop from playlist vendor engrams. Getting world loot from playlist vendors feels terrible.

Prediction that returning warlock sword is still going to be comparatively underwhelming

    Posted: 07 May 2021 07:10 AM PDT

Based on the most recent trailer, class-specific swords are returning. For a quick refresher:

    • Hunters got Goldtusk: a lightweight frame sword that makes you move faster while equipped and had a unique run animation that made you look like a ninja
    • Titans got Throne-Cleaver: an aggressive frame sword that had a unique heavy attack that did more damage compared to others and looked like a claymore
    • Warlocks got Death's Razor: an adaptive frame sword (you know, the same as most other legendaries in the game) whose only "unique" perk was Infinite Guard...which was available to anyone that had Worldline Zero

Infinite Guard: Sword Guard has balanced defenses and maximized endurance

With the potential of these swords returning, I hope Bungie saw the tons of feedback on this subreddit and reworked the sword for warlocks...but I expect it will ship the same as it left: Underwhelming.

#BungieHatesWarlockFashion I was meaning this to be funny, not divisive.

Edit: Changed names of swords to reflect Heroic Menagerie random rolled versions

Edit 2: Wow...I am incredibly happy to see how this discussion has developed! For the most part, everyone has been constructive and/or supportive in their discourse. I am not saying we have answers, but I am saying that for at least this point, I feel heard. Thank you both to the community and community managers for their time and consideration.

Pvp has fallen by the way side and suffering. Can we get some straight answers?

    Posted: 07 May 2021 11:34 AM PDT

Pve is dope. I look forward to smashing the new content every season to experience what bungie cooked up for us. But it eventually becomes stale and then I clock in the majority of my destiny time in pvp.

It has been exceptionally hard to want to play as of late though. Removing so many maps with no replacements on deck, and what looks to be nothing on the horizon is a major L.

Time and time again we were sold magic beans. They said maps were being removed to be reworked, to only come back in the exact same condition. We were told that were committed and focused on making a better crucible experience, and have been completely silent ever since.

We deserve some real honest answers about whatever their goal is with pvp. From the outside looking in, it's as if they want to phase it out.

Please, we deserve to be told something besides "we're listening"

A friendly reminder that the crit multiplier nerf needs to be reverted for primaries to shine

    Posted: 07 May 2021 05:12 PM PDT

This was a gross overreaction to the insane forsaken power levels. As a result primaries have felt very very underwhelming, and it's time this nerf get reversed.

To those who are suggesting Eververse is the reason:

no, this wasn't some ploy to get people to buy finishers. Remember this community prides itself on efficiency and it's more efficient in all cases to fire a second shot rather than finish and watch an animation. Blame Eververse all you want on other aspects but finishers didn't motivate this nerf. This was an overreaction plain and simple.

(Potential Spoilers) HELM_upgrade.exe may be more than meets the eye.

    Posted: 07 May 2021 06:11 AM PDT

    Title.

Based on some of the images released for Season of the Splicer it looks either Mithrax and House Light have been busy, or will be busy alongside us (maybe as an intro mission for the season?).

In this image, we have Mithrax in the forefront, with who appear to be the same refugees seen in the trailer, fairly standard stuff. If you take a good look at the background however, you might notice that they're standing at the entrance to Vault Ebisu. For the unaware, Vault Ebisu was a Black Armory vault raided by Siviks and the Kell's Scourge syndicate in an effort to steal Black Armory tech for their own projects. One of those projects? The final raid boss of Scourge of the Past, Insurrection Prime. This exact location is where we destroyed Insurrection Prime, and throughout the debris there was a single morsel that remained, a pilot servitor. So about that pilot servitor...

Image two, HELM_upgrade.exe, shows a damaged servitor hooked up to various machinery to serve as an upgrade vendor. The correlation? This is (probably) Insurrection Prime. To further support this, notice the piece of scrap metal still to attached to the back of the servitor, it's identical in color to Insurrection Prime's main body. Picture of Insurrection Prime for reference.

One detail that could definitely debunk this is the size of HELM_upgrade.exe, as shown here, it appears to be the size of the average prime servitor, whereas the pilot servitor within Insurrection Prime was closer in size to a normal servitor. It's entirely possible that it's just a scrap prime servitor within the area, as those were used to activate the electric barriers during the first phase of Insurrection Prime.

Either way, unless this happens prior to the beginning of Season of the Splicer, it looks like we might be heading back to Vault Ebisu for a little scavenger hunt with our buddy Mithrax!

Edit: Noticing more points of various servitors coming up. Ablazed Glory, Kaliks Reborn, or even just a non-descript servitor. Love seeing the counterpoints and discussion!

Also corrected "whom" to "who" in the first paragraph.

The new ghost UI is really well done, perhaps next a redesign of the buff indicators?

    Posted: 07 May 2021 02:40 PM PDT

Over the years, the addition of new perks and armor mods has crowded the part of the screen that shows you what buffs are active. You can have so many buffs active at one time that not all of them are shown on the screen. In one of the most recent TWABs they even said that they were making Hawkmoons exotic perk have a higher priority so it doesn't get pushed down the list of buffs leaving you questioning how many stacks you currently have.

The Hawkmoon change is a band aid fix to a larger problem. We just have to many things that occupy the same place. I really hope that a redesign of how buffs are displayed during gameplay is at least being talked about. The more knowledge a player has the better.

    Congratulations, Hunters

    Posted: 07 May 2021 07:56 AM PDT

I was hoping for a more competitive Guardian Games this year, and I while it wasn't as competitive as I had originally hoped, it was much more fun than last year's. If I am not mistaken, when Hunter's win today, they have won the Contest. As a Warlock main, congratulations! I am disappointed we couldn't put up a longer fight, but your victory is well deserved and self evident.

Next year I'd love to see more competition, like different ways for the classes to actually show their strengths. Mixed challenges that are weighted to an overall score maybe. I.e. How many orbs of light x class produced in a day.

Here's to a fiery competition at GG 2022!

Please don’t bog down master raids with modifiers like to nightfalls

    Posted: 07 May 2021 10:38 AM PDT

Please don't fill the raids with champions and modifiers and heavily lower our health so we get one tapped by everything. I know whatever is planned is already completed in done, but I'm really crossing fingers and hoping that we don't get super heavy modifiers to increase the difficulty and hurt the player. In a perfect world we get something more along the lines of more enemies and yellow/orange bars as well as some less punishing modifiers, but if I end up getting blown away by like two goblins, I'll probably be pretty sad.

    Closing ceremony?

    Posted: 07 May 2021 01:05 PM PDT
