It’s REALLY nice not having to do the +50 power chase this season. Thanks Bungie.

I can just, you know play what I want now. Grind override or nightfall weapons, focus on seasonal challenges, catalysts or whatever I want. Huge QoL improvement to enjoy new content at my own pace and not worrying about getting boots to drop from crucible bounty reward. GG Bungie!

The Shadowkeep nerf to the precision multiplier on red-bar enemies has left Handcannons, Pulse Rifles, Scout Rifles, and even some Auto Rifles feeling weak and not fun in PvE.

    Posted: 19 May 2021 04:06 PM PDT

    The patch notes stated that:

Minor enemies (Rank-and-File) no longer take more precision damage than other enemies

These enemies previously took twice as much damage to their precision hit locations than enemies of higher ranks

You will still deal precision damage, but this is now entirely dependent on the weapon, as it is for higher ranked enemies

So they cut the damage that a crit-shot does to a minor enemy in HALF. Weapons that rely on hitting crit-shots (Handcannons, Scouts, and some Pulse and Auto rifles) have felt weak ever since. Although the effects of this are not terribly severe in low tier content like say, patrols, it is VERY noticeable in most other content (Raids, Nightfalls, Strikes, Exotic missions, Season Activities, etc.)

No more crispy 1 tapping with handcannons (like the returning Fatebringer).

No more 1-2 tapping with Scouts (Like the Hung Jury).

Pulse and Auto rifles are not as harshly affected, but I'd still argue that many of them, especially lower rpm archetypes, are underwhelming.

The only primaries that came through this change mostly unscathed are Sidearms (specifically burst archetypes) and SMGs. Damage perks like Frenzy or Rampage (which Bungie tried to make less meta) have only become increasingly valuable, because our base guns are a shell of their former selves.

If I was given the chance to change one and only one thing in all of PvE, I'd go back to the double crit multiplier we had before (and if that is too much, than at least close to it). It made weapons of all kinds feel powerful against adds as long as you were accurate, while not affecting their lethality against more powerful foes.

If this was done to increase difficulty, then I understand, but I don't think this is the right approach. I'd rather fight 30 enemies with lower health than 10 enemies that are bullet sponges.

Bring back the glory of scout rifles in PvE

    Posted: 19 May 2021 11:45 AM PDT

Bungie nobody is going to have their feelings hurt if you buff Scout Rifle damage in PvE. A solid overall 10% damage buff to scouts would go miles for the weapon type.

We need the glory of scouts to return to destiny. In my opinion scout rifles were always a pinnacle weapon type in the franchise and the fact that Dead Man's Tale is the only scout thats viable in PvE is absurd.

Bring back the glory, give our scouts their damage back!

Edit: thanks for all the updoots and the awards. I won't be answering comments that pick apart my words and proceed to ignore my broad point.

Can we PLEASE have a prime engram decrypting station at the HELM?

    Posted: 19 May 2021 11:17 AM PDT

I am tired of having to go back and forth between the tower and HELM just to free up space to go back to the tower to decrypt my prime engram.

Bungie, AMD users have been afflicted by poor performance for 6 months since Beyond Light launched

    Posted: 19 May 2021 11:09 AM PDT

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZIhK5W7iKAo

The PC performance issues on Destiny 2 for AMD graphics card users have affected us since the launch of the Beyond Light expansion on November 10, 2020 and still has yet to be fixed. However, there is a "solution" that was identified by the community, though it is a buggy one. By navigating to your CVAR file for Destiny 2 (located in C:\Users\YOUR NAME\AppData\Roaming\Bungie\DestinyPC\prefs) and simply changing the "force_enable_multi_threaded_render_submit" value to "1", you can increase (even double depending on your hardware) your frame rates and decrease your frame times. However, this change comes with buggy graphical flickering that is incredibly distracting, sometimes unplayable and potentially harmful for those who suffer from photosensitive epilepsy.

This thread and supporting video is to bring attention to this problem in hopes that Bungie will resolve the graphical issues related to "force_enable_multi_threaded_render_submit" and then enable it for players after it has been fixed. As of uploading this video, the performance issues on PC have affected me and other players with AMD graphics cards for over 6 months now and a fix for it has been long overdue.

Please folks, console players or PC NVIDIA players alike, help us out here so this issue will get Bungie's attention.

"Only 3 kills" still means you spend the entire match fighting over heavy ammo. Bungo, why do you continue to do this?

Stasis Shuriken is significantly more oppressive as a tool than hand held supernova, yet it hasn't been touched to the same degree. 3 years later and Nova warp is still nearly bottom tier.

Middle tree arc can no longer deflect silence and squall tornadoes

    Posted: 19 May 2021 04:24 PM PDT

Title, what do you guys think about this change?

EDIT: AFTER SOME LENGHTY TESTING, me and a friend discovered that a light first jump from the ground is the consistent sweetspot for reflecting. I apologize for technically spreading misinformation, but im honestly just glad its still in the game.

Do not forget however that bungie has still made nova warp no longer able to super blink through slow, and icarus dash and dodge dont work either. Still a long way to go till light classes can effectively counter stasis mechanics. also mid tree sentinal and mid tree arcstrider cannot block coldsnaps.

The Steady Hand with Iron Grip is an absolute marvel of weapon design.

    Posted: 19 May 2021 11:31 AM PDT

Mine has a whopping reload speed of 10. I honestly do not think there is a slower reload in the game. Even on Rocket Launchers. It's awesome. It tripped me out so much I thought my whole life was in slow motion. I love it! I tried to time the reload speed but then I realized I do not have a calendar for 2022 yet :)

This is going to be the ultimate challenge PvE weapon. No damage perks, no tricks. Try to solo the dungeon with a reload that takes days and nothing else.

This reload gives you valuable time to think about your life. Where you headed? Did you do the right thing? Why are you still reloading even though the match ended?

I have nothing else to say but I guess I'll just type up this sentence to let the gun reload.

    Please never change!

    Add Matchmaking for Legend Nightfalls

    Posted: 19 May 2021 03:14 AM PDT

I really wish they would add matchmaking for legend nightfalls. Master and higher not having it I can understand as they are very challenging, but it is so easy for anyone to reach 1310 I really see no valid excuse anymore. I'm so sick of having to go on lfg just to farm a damn nightfall...

Bungie I’d love a playlist with fixed weapons to mix up the pvp experience once a month!

    Posted: 19 May 2021 07:45 PM PDT

After working through the IB quest and using weapons I NEVER use (looking at you sniper rifles), I actually enjoyed the change of pace from the usual HC + Shotgun affair the crucible usually is.

    It got me thinking, how about a rotating playlist that shows up once per month with fixed weapons? Example;

Long range - Scouts and snipers only

Close range -Shotguns and swords only

Small arms - SMGs and sidearms only

Explosive - grenade launchers and rocket launchers only

You get the idea. I know we had prestige raids with locked weapons but I think it'd be great to do some PvP with some of our less popular weapons pitted against each other.

    Or bring back Rift!

A Long, Comprehensive, List of God Rolls to Hunt for in Season of the Splicer (with images)

    Posted: 19 May 2021 09:28 AM PDT

    The weapon rolls: https://imgur.com/a/XoPRw8x

I made this for my clan using the https://d2gunsmith.com/ website to curate the rolls I'm looking for this season. These are in no way the only good rolls, but I feel like it's a great reference to use if you're not sure what to hunt for on a weapon.

As a side note, when it comes to PvP offerings on weapons, I tend to favor consistency over lethality, e.g., something like tap the trigger over kill clip. Your mileage may vary on this. These rolls came from the perspective of a controller player.

I excluded a few weapons that were outright awful, meaning there is far better options in the same archetype or they didn't do anything unique to make them worth using.

I hope you find it useful!

Edit: Small mistake, the first found verdict and visions of confluence image should read PvE option, not PvP

There should be a cooldown on how often you can get frozen

    Posted: 19 May 2021 06:55 AM PDT

Being frozen doesn't feel good. But being frozen and then breaking out just to immediately get frozen again just really makes stasis feel that much irritating.

I know that freezing is a big part of stasis and nerfing it too much wouldn't make it useful but at least this would help

Several exotic weapons still have "non-perks" that don't do anything.

    Posted: 19 May 2021 11:24 AM PDT

The typical format for exotic weapons is that they have two major perks, an intrinsic and an exotic.

For most weapons, the intrinsic has an effect that the exotic supports. For instance, Outbreak Perfected. The intrinsic causes the weapon to create SIVA nanites on kill and damage, while the exotic perk causes targets afflicted by nanites to take increased damage. The two perks support one another and have distinct effects that make them different from other weapons.

Then on the other side of things, you have things like Fighting Lion and Bastion Chaperone. The instrinsic perk on FL, Delayed Gratification, has the effect of causing Fighting Lion to...work like all other breach loaded grenade launchers in the game. Every single breach loaded GL allows you to detonate early by releasing the trigger, regardless of their intrinsic frame types, so why does an exotic need to consume a perk slot for it?

Look at a few examples of intrinsic perks here.

Good: Ace of Spades: Memento Mori, Ace's main perk that provides it's damage bonuses and radar on ADS

Bad: Bastion: Saint's Fist, Slugs are kinetic. This doesn't do anything. The weapon is already in the kinetic slot, of course it's going to fire kinetic shots.

Chaperone is a better example of a bad one. Its intrinsic perk is being a slug shotgun. Its exotic perk provides the damage bonuses.

Good: Arbalest: Compounding Force, fire kinetic slugs that do massive damage to elemental shields. This is like bastion except that it DOES have an additional effect.

Good: Divinity: Judgement, sustained damage causes a debuff on targets. Again, Divinity's main effect is stored here. Penance, its exotic perk, is just a bonus that damages targets affected by Judgement.

Bad: Coldheart: Cold Fusion, fires a laser. Like...all trace rifles. It's Longest Winter that causes the damage ramp up.

Essentially, a good amount of exotics, usually old ones, are missing a perk because their intrinsic was treated differently than most exotics, when for the most part, Intrinsic Perks are 75% of why an exotic is good. These weapons really need an update to make them stand out.

Edit: Alright guys, Bastion gets a pass. Replace it with Chaperone in the initial post and the idea is the same.

Edit 2: Chaperone apparently has intrinsic lightweight bonuses that Bungie decided to specifically exclude me from knowing about. This has now become a buff Coldheart post. My mans only has one perk.

    • Le monarque - the best bow in the game and those who say trinity ghoul are lying to themselves.

    • Whisper of the Worm - "we changed the perk because drawing free ammo out of nothing was too powerful for a legendary weapon and it feels more like an exotic perk "

    • Leviathans Breath - cabal bow locked up in banshees store room

    • Salvations Grip - prototype stasis weapon ahem "freed" from eramis.

    Edit:

    • Xenophage - the bane of any gambit invader ever

I would like to say that Zavala is one of the best characters to come from the current storylines.

    Posted: 19 May 2021 06:59 PM PDT

Because he handles all of the Melodrama! like an adult. Dude finds out that Uldren Sov has reincarnated into Crow? Dude just shakes his hand and thanks him for the rescue and treats him with respect.

    Like an adult.

The last.... three years of Destiny story telling has involved trying to go behind Zavala's back at every turn as if he's the fun police or something, but it turns out that he's just a very capable smart and pragmatic guy.

And I fricken' love him for it.

He is one of the best characters in the franchise.

Transmog has shown me how I could really care less about anything but the robes on warlocks

    Posted: 19 May 2021 11:01 AM PDT

Really wish the arms and leg pieces could have a bigger factor in the way a warlock looks, but the arms are basically wrist wrap while the legs are covered up by most of the robes.

I really liked how specifically the arms worked in D1. They actually played a role in the overall look. And most robes didn't cover your legs from the knees up so you could see your leg armor.

Of the 6 synthweave I've used, 5 have been on robes.

    Please buff certain Scout Archetypes

    Posted: 19 May 2021 02:17 PM PDT

    Sincerely,

    Guardian who loves Scout Rifles.

    • Tune Exotics separately (you have shown that you can do it).
    • Range is not a good reason for neglecting them. Pulse Rifles and Handcannons do better work at similar ranges sometimes.
    • Precision Frames suck in PvE. I can't reliably kill RED bars on a general mob clearing gun.
    • Rapid-Fire Frames need more options. Randy's Throwing Knife does work. Trustee is hella cool with the perk combinations.
    • Why do I need Explosive Payload to feel good about using a Scout Rifle?
    • Precision hit nerf was horrible.

Error code “beagle” requires full reinstall of game

    Posted: 19 May 2021 07:36 PM PDT

I just got Error Code "Beagle" which means I had to delete and reinstall Destiny 2 from my PS5. Four of my clan mates on PS5 have gotten the same error in the past two days. One guy has gotten the code twice. No don't had this experience before Tuesday's hot fix. Are others experiencing this? If so, please upvote for Bungie attention. I've also flagged on their forum and sent the video clip of the error occurring.

What if Pinnacle rewards instead dropped a consumable that would increase the PL of the gear it was used on by 1 point?

    Posted: 19 May 2021 03:45 PM PDT

Saw someone suggest this within the comments of another suggestion, I thought it was a good idea and decided to expand on it a little.

Basically, when you complete a Pinnacle, instead of getting a randomly rolled piece of gear 1 or 2 points above your average in a random slot, you'd get it at the character's current PL instead (this way players don't miss out on a potential good roll), plus a new material.

This material would show up under Infusion in the UI, but it'd be grayed out and unusable if the gear was either under the regular Power cap or at the Pinnacle cap. When used, it'd increase the PL of the gear piece by 1 point.

    That's it.

I believe this would be an improvement over the current Pinnacle grind, as it completely negates the need for dupe protection on Pinnacle drops, players can just use it on any piece of gear they choose. Even if you do a raid and get nothing but energy weapons, or if you do all the playlist stuff and get only arms, it's not going to matter as much from a PL standpoint. If you're playing each week and doing the challenges, you will gain power, regardless of how bad your luck is.

If there are players who prefer the old system, for whatever reason, they can still somewhat replicate it by using the consumable on the gear piece that dropped alongside it.

Hand Cannons with Explosive Payload/Timed Payload can stun Overload champions easier

    Posted: 19 May 2021 09:10 AM PDT

The explosions count as extra shots which triggers the Overload round easier.

Higher RoF HC's are preferable. The Seventh Seraph can get Timed Payload and Nation of Beasts can get Explosive as well.

These should make GM's easier whenever those come back.
