It feels TERRIBLE to complete a full Deep Stone Crypt and not have enough spoils to purchase a weapon roll.

    Posted: 18 May 2021 07:43 AM PDT

With how it is now, you will only have 12 spoils at the end of the raid (3 spoils per encounter and the secret chests don't grant spoils anymore). If the changes regarding DSC are here to stay, can the spoils per encounter at least be raised back to 5 so we can purchase a weapon after we've killed Taniks?

The gameplay loop for the splicer gauntlet is way better than the hammer from last season, and should be the new format going forward.

    Posted: 18 May 2021 04:03 PM PDT

No time limits to how fast the gauntlet can be upgraded and being able to charge it BEFORE the activity are great changes that feel much less wasteful and meaningless.

Transmog aside, loving the added QoL stuff so far. :)

Still Unable to Play Destiny 2 One Week Later

    Posted: 18 May 2021 12:46 PM PDT

Update: Thanks for everyone who has replied and given me advice and suggestions, unfortunately Destiny is still crashing. Most recently I did a "reset" of the console by going to: Settings > System > Console Info > Reset > Reset and Keep my Games and Apps. I had mild success with this and I was finally able to successfully load into a destination (the first mission of this season). However, after about 5 minutes of playing it hard crashed my console again. I tried launching Destiny again multiple times and it would begin to crash whenever it tried loading into a destination, just like before. So I'm back to square one. Overnight I'm planning to uninstall Destiny, do another reset of my console, and reinstall Destiny. We'll see if that has any success…

    Original Post:

One week later and I still cannot play Destiny 2—my favorite game. The game still crashes my Xbox Series X whenever I try loading in to the first seasonal mission. I thought for sure it would be fixed with the update at the end of last week, especially when they wrote this line in the TWAB:

We had some Honeydew errors early on, but our team of experts buckled down to commune with our servers and fix the issues so you could get back to playing. Our deepest apologies to anyone who had their gameplay delayed. Check out the Player Support Report below for the latest on any ongoing issues we are tracking.

Despite some hiccups, the Season is in full swing now! Here is a quick look at everything the new Season Pass has to offer.

But, unfortunately not. The bolded line (emphasis mine) was especially frustrating because the season is certainly not in full swing because some of us still can't play the game!

Then I thought there would be no way it would still be broken with the update today (3.2.0.1). Nope, still broken.

I have tried restarting my console, waiting at the title screen for 5 minutes, waiting at character select screen for 5 minutes, waiting in orbit for 5 minutes, I have uninstalled and reinstalled Destiny, cleared the "Persistent Storage" in the Blu-Ray settings, powered down and unplugged the console for more than 2 minutes, deleted the Save File. None of these things have helped fix the issue. I have maybe 20 friends on Xbox Live and out of those 20, maybe 5 play Destiny 2, so I wouldn't think it has to do with the issues many people have had with too many friends online playing D2.

I have posted to the Destiny Help Forums on bungie.net. And looking through the console support pages, there does seem to be others out there with similar issues, so I know I'm not alone in this.

I am able to play on Xbox Cloud Streaming, but that is definitely no substitute for playing on my Series X console (especially because of the extreme latency I encounter and the general instability of it at this time).

I am seriously at my wits end here, I don't know what else to do. This is so incredibly frustrating, as I really just want to be able to play the game.

/u/dmg04 and /u/cozmo23 Is the team aware that people are still having issues and are they working to resolve these problems? Can I expect to be able to actually play the game sometime soon? Because I would really like to be able to do so...

Bungie, I disagree with the decision to make DSC no longer drop pinnacles

    Posted: 18 May 2021 11:03 AM PDT

First, I would like to ask why this change was made. I know in the past we have not had two raids dropping pinnacles at the same time but what would be so bad about that? Light Level is only increasing by 10 each season so is it a fear of players hitting the max to fast? Not like Light Level is a good system right now anyways.

Second, DSC is the newest raid. Yes, VoG will be new to a lot of players but it is still a returning raid. DSC was also tied to the newest paid expansion while VoG will be free to all players.

Please keep this as a pinnacle activity

Make Seasonal Catalyst Booster Effect ALL Past Seasonal Catalyst Quests

    Posted: 18 May 2021 12:03 PM PDT

Please? I have catalyst quests for Tommy's Matchbook, Symmetry, and Eriana's Vow all just sitting in my quest queue, slowly being chunked down, with barely any discernible progress being made despite the fact that I was finally able to play pretty regularly again after Beyond Light dropped. It is so frustrating that I can't use these weapons (Specifically Eriana's) to their full potential because I wasn't able to do stuff during the seasons those weapons launched, and that I now have another... 140? Nightfalls left to do. So. Frustrating. Making the Catalyst Quest booster effect all seasonal quests would at least make it so I feel like I can make progress on getting those blasted things out of my quest screen.

Sparrows not disappearing anymore is low-key one of the best changes for speed running certain Lost Sectors

    Posted: 18 May 2021 07:37 AM PDT

You can ride your sparrow right to the entrance of the Perdition lost sector, do the thing, return, hop on and recycle. Doing those Europa lost sector bounties is far more easier now. There's a ton more situations you can speed it up a bit just because it won't disappear now.

If lowest possible light is 1100, can we just clip the 1 off the front

    Posted: 18 May 2021 11:35 AM PDT

Can you imagine how confusing and arbitrary that is for a new player to see that their base level is 1100? Like that seems ridiculous. Can we please just have lowest light be 100 and max be 320? 0 to 220 if we're acting wild? That would be so much less confusing.

Also, most emblems in the game are designed to have a 3 digit light level (looking at you 16 holding) and that change would cure a pet peeve of mine

Season Pass should a have a Synthstrand drop booster

    Posted: 18 May 2021 08:18 AM PDT

I've been tryna think of ways that Bungie can better incentivise the paid route of the season pass outside of access to seasonal activites and the cosmetics; The cosmetics are always in the range of decent to great, but as of the moment they make up 13 tiers out of 100. Obviously there's some other good rewards like bright engrams and ascendant shards towards the end, and while the total bright dust you get doesn't amount to a lot when you consider the bright dust cost of items in the weekly rotation, it always allows newer players without a store of bright dust a route to get a few good cosmetics per season. Still though, that's leaving a lot of space on the season pass with pretty average rewards and a good portion of those rewards are the boosters.

There are some pretty useful boosters in the season pass, like the cumulative xp boosters and the seasonal exotic catalyst quest boosters. But there's also some pretty redundant ones, like the seasonal armour masterwork boosters or the legendary shard dismantle ones. Obviously, it doesn't need said that the Transmog system as it stands at the minute needs a lot of work and Bungie are obviously aware of that. Everyone's losing their minds at the minute about the timegate on synthstrand drops, especially season pass owners who are starting to take issue with yet another paywall cropping up. A super easy way for Bungie to remedy this is to implement boosters on the paid track of season passes going forward. This would provide boosts to synthstrand drops, either doubling or tripling the amount you receive. Alternatively, boosters for the transmog bounties could be good, functioning similarly to the catalyst quest boosters, boosting the amount of progress made per required action.

As a fully paid player who's just a bit dissapointed to see another paywall emerging, I just think it's important for bungie not to lose sight of the two halves of it's playerbase and the distinction between them. This isn't a true F2P game so slapping a paywall on a feature like transmog that is 100% free in other games is kinda troubling.

And before anyone says "It's just cosmetics, they doesn't affect gameplay". Be honest with yourself. Fashion is the real endgame.

TLDR: Season pass has a ton of useless boosters, replace some of them with synthstrand boosters. Or hell, just give us some synthweave. Anything is better than the rubbish we've currently got

Edit: I totally agree with everyone saying "remove the timegate" or just get rid of the synthweave system all together, but given that Bungie rolled the system out like this, I think it's unrealistic to imagine they'll totally get rid of the bounty grind, probably just remove the cap and the timegate or make some other alterations to make things less tedious

Edit: Some people still aren't getting what I'm tryna say so I'll just clarify, what I'm saying is a "best-case in the worst-case" scenario. Anyone who's thinking Bungie are gonna 100% remove all the bullshit involved in getting transmog are fooling themselves. This suggestion is the bare minimum kind of changes Bungie should be looking into. Unfortunately for us, we often do get the bare minimum

OK Bungie I gotta give ya props. Override: The Moon is pretty fun.

    Posted: 18 May 2021 12:53 PM PDT

It's a bit harder than Override: Europa but not extremely difficult. The tron like environment is great and Portunos' mechanics are slightly different than Tacitas's mechanics. I hope the third Override mission follows suit and is again slightly harder than this second one and the boss mechanics are ramped up a bit. Overall I'm really enjoying the new activity.

(Disclaimer: Yes I'm sure it will get repetitive by the end of the season but these are great so far.)

Legend of Acrius needs a buff, I have more of a chance of dying with a weapon with severe damage drop off than I do with a legendary sword

    Posted: 18 May 2021 06:24 AM PDT

Because swords can block/lunge at the boss when they stomp, but LoA? No of you get stomped, if your not dead, your heavy is useless. It needs to do more damage, have it be a chunk damage master. Matter of fact, bring all the Raid Exotics to Anarchy-grade level of useful, either damage or reworks. Let's face it, with the mods provided this season, Anarchy has a good chance of being nerfed due to the amount of usage it's gonna get come GMs. LoA and 1k should do ALOT of damage for what they are. LoA should be the King of damage up close, since you have insanely piss poor range on it, and 1k is a literal eye-laser beam, a legendary rocket shouldn't put DPS it. I know you don't want a Gally meta, but if people are investing time into the Raids you should make it worth the grind.

Warlock's base melee should either be brought in line with the other classes, or given it's old D1 range back.

    Posted: 18 May 2021 05:55 PM PDT

Right now, the base attack speed is considerably lower than that of Hunters or Titans. And the range difference is nothing compared to it's D1 counterpart.

Because of this, Warlock objectively lose melee duels in PvP, regardless of skills differences.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1b-idKsr0DY

This is a video showcasing my point. Keep in mind that since the release of this video, Warlocks had an increase to their base melee range by 1 meter. (This is the range difference I mentioned in the beginning)

Bungie: Something went wrong when you changed the Eyes of Tomorrow drop rate. Please fix.

    Posted: 18 May 2021 01:42 PM PDT

    Hello,

Today I can say with the new thread's evidence with a 99.93% CERTAINTY that something went wrong when the Eyes of Tomorrow drop rate was supposedly "Fixed"

from this tweet, https://twitter.com/joegoroth/status/1357077939792142336we learned that Eyes of Tomorrow Drop rate goes all the way up to 100%,

From this TWAB, https://www.bungie.net/en-us/Explore/Detail/News/50196We learned that the merge happened, and they stated that even if you were EXTREMELY UNLUCKY and haven't gotten eyes yet, it would only take a Few more months to get eyes.

Assuming that it would take Nine months total to get to 100% drop rate, which is VERY generous, giving a 4 month period AFTER the drop rate to reach 100%, (including the months that eyes of tomorrow were bugged). We can assume that if a guardian ran every single week since Deep Stone Crypt launched, they would have an almost 50% chance per run to get eyes, Yet, in my data from these two threads,https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/nfak74/can_the_drop_chance_for_eyes_of_tomorrow_get/

    https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/nayj8z/question_have_you_gotten_eyes_of_tomorrow_since/

as well as accounts of MANY guardians found in the LFG Discord, I can conclude that THE DROP RATE HAS NOT BEEN CHANGED OR INCORRECTLY CHANGED

Even without ANY drop rate changes, lets say the drop rate is low. Like 5% drop rate like when 1k Voices was still fresh

Total Lootable Runs from data: ~3000 Runs

    Total Eyes Drops: 105

Expected Drop Rate: 5% or 0.05

In Practice Drop Rate: 3.5% or 0.035

That is not that bad, assuming a 5% drop rate, but this is also assuming NO drop protection, even on players who only raided on one Character and had all the drop protection correctly applied.

Now lets assume Drop Rate protection with about a 50% drop rate starting on March 23rd, the first reset where Drop Rate Protection was supposedly merged between all three characters.

Total Lootable Runs from data since March 23rd OF PLAYERS WHO DID NOT HAVE EYES BEFOREHAND (Data is only presented by people who are confirmed to have raided in the timeframe): ~300 Runs

Total Eyes Drops in this time frame by players who did not already have eyes: 10

    Expected Drop rate: 50%

    In practice drop rate: 3.3%

This gives us only a .06% Chance of happening, which is 99.93% of the time not supposed to happen,

Maybe my sample size is too small, and Bungie can come out and give us some data to contradict mine, however as it currently stands, I believe something must have messed up in bungies system, The reigning conspiracy theory in my clan is that on March, the drop rates were not merged, but reset, so the months and months that guardians such as I put in to try and get eyes to no avail meant nothing.

Bungie plz correct eyes drop rate

TL:DR: Drop Rate of Eyes stayed pretty consistent even after the drop rate change on March 23rd, when it was expected to increase
