Sunday Plz - Separate the melee and melee-ability buttons

    Posted: 02 May 2021 02:00 AM PDT

    Greetings Guardians!

Ever since the conception of this sub, we've dealt with floods of reposts. We're sure you're familiar with them. Many are for important issues that are shared by the entire player base, while others are just for personal requests and desires for the game. The Bungie Plz was shortly implemented after conception as a central "wish-list" for all that we, the community, desired. It is completely user driven. With rare exceptions, nearly all submissions are sent in by you, the users of this subreddit!

However, just like Destiny 2, our wiki article began to experience problems as it grew over time. It's been getting just a few sizes too big. We understand that the continued addition of topics has begun to encroach on your ability to continue the conversation towards matters that mean the most to you, and even though the Bungie Plz has seen so many successes over the years, with well over 100 officially implemented game suggestions and desires, there's still dozens upon dozens of retired topics that haven't seen the light of day for many months...even years!

Every Sunday, this thread will focus on a certain retired Bungie Plz topic of your choosing, voted by the users. We will curate a list of 5 suggestions to help focus your voting process, but you get the final say on what is talked about each week. By all means, if one topic is overwhelmingly desired despite not being part of those 5 items we picked, then we'll be happy to go with that one. Our curated list is only to help you focus the conversation. The only stipulation is that the topic must be new every week. This thread is for the entirety of the Bungie Plz wiki, so no back-to-back voting!

Think of these threads as a way to keep the spark alive, and to bring old topics up to fresh light. For example, do we still want to move Queenbreaker to the special slot? Or does Arbalest serve that purpose well enough now? Do we still want an all-black shader, or do we want to bring back Prismatic Matrix?

You tell us! This is your conversation, guardians.

For this week, you voted on:

Seperate the Melee and Melee-Ability Button

For next week, here are some suggestions:

    • Reintroduce the Faction Vendors
    • Rework the Black Talon Catalyst
    • Add Legendary Trace Rifles
    • Allow Sleeper and Outbreak to generate Warmind Cells
    • Move The Queenbreaker into the special ammo slot

Sound off in the sticky comment for which one sounds good (just give us a moment to put it up), or anything else in the Bungie Plz wiki that catches your eye, and we'll do our best to accommodate!

As a Titan, something has been bothering me since the launch of BL; Our Fists

    Posted: 02 May 2021 11:52 AM PDT

    Specifically -

Bungie, why you only let us use one fist at a time during Behemoth? Life give us two fist, you only let us use one fist. Titan only punching at half power; very inefficient. Double punching much more efficient.

Double Titan fists for next Season please?

EDIT: Pretty Warlock friend tells me that people are not correctly understanding what I am saying. Says I should uh, "clarify". Titan should not be punching with both fists at same time; but Titan should using both fists in the punching. Should punch with right hand, then if enemy not broken punch them with left hand. Or, if enemy IS broken, use left hand to punch another nearby enemy faster.

EDIT 2: After further thought, punching with both fists at same time is also good. Pretty Warlock friend is unhappy with this conclusion, but I am sure will understand in time.

After today's reset, Titans can no longer win the Guardian Games

    Posted: 02 May 2021 06:07 AM PDT

Warlocks are currently in the lead today and by the looks of it, are going to win.

That means that there are 8 days left in the games, with Warlocks having 4 wins and Hunters with 8.

At best, if Titans won all the rest, they'd tie with Hunters.

I hope next season adds friendly Cabal into the game worlds

    Posted: 02 May 2021 07:53 AM PDT

Basically title, I feel like after creating an alliance/cease fire with Caital we should see her cabal in the game worlds as blue bars and not enemies. Would be a big change and would actually show the affects of the alliance in game.

Actium War Rig should reload Trace Rifles and Auto Rifles, since auto/trace rifle mods were grouped together.

Imagine Divinity or Coldheart with that.

Raid gear (and dreambane) can slot a 1 energy arc mod in the 5th slot, if you want to proc arc CWL mods

    Posted: 02 May 2021 03:02 PM PDT

Resistant Tether, Enhanced Scanner Augment, and Nightmare Banisher all count as arc mods for the purpose of getting the secondary effect for arc Charged With Light mods.

Since people are getting double rewards right now you should definitely consider Masterworking a decent roll if you have one sitting around. Or just use a class item possibly

It would be really cool to have strong enemies in a patrol zone that would take multiple guardians to defeat.

    Posted: 02 May 2021 08:48 AM PDT

There are already some bigger enemies here and there, but they're very easy to kill.

Some stronger ones could be a lot of fun.

Like how it was quite tough to kill those small Insurrection Prime robots in the Europa patrol zones when we were under leveled, but then even tougher.

Titan’s subclasses are really lacking in creativity and individuality.

    Posted: 02 May 2021 04:07 PM PDT

After lurking for a long time, I saw one too many "give titans more punch" post, and now I'm going to speak up in opposition.

Also, I'm mostly talking from a PvE perspective. I'm fairly sure that some of these points can be made for PvP as well.

Currently, 3/4 of our classes have a "AoE Ground Slam" Effect, and all of our classes have a shoulder charge effect.

Our abilities being copied and pasted has gotten bad enough that behemoth is just better striker. It has superior neutral game, superior abilities and a better super. That's not a case of stasis just being better than everything else, either.

I'm mostly talking about top or bottom tree Striker here, as middle tree is thankfully it's own individual class.

Striker slams the ground for fast damage in an area. Behemoth slams the ground, freezes everything nearby, sets crystals and freezes everything ahead, and shatters those crystals for equal or more damage than Striker's Slam.

Striker's shoulder charges after sprinting for a short time. This charge is (relatively) slow, locks you out of sprinting, and only goes a short distance. Behemoth's shiver strike sends you flying immediately, sends you much further, and goes faster than a hornet on crack.

The only benefit Striker has over Behemoth is shoulder charge plus skullfort shenanigans.

As it stands right now, I am willing to bet that Bottom tree striker is among the least used subclasses, right alongside Nova Warp and Blade Barrage.

However, those conversations don't even begin to get into my main issue. That being, melee just is isn't viable.

Whether it be grandmaster tier nightfalls, solo dungeon clearing, or even raiding, melee isn't a strategy that's viable. Your melee's damage is just pitiful, failing to one shot anything stronger than a thrall while being hit back for much more.

You see the failure of melee focused builds with both Striker and top tree Arcstrider.

I don't want Bungie to go back and change Striker and our other subclasses. There are more important things for Bungie to do first.

I just don't want any more melee focussed subclasses. If Bungie must stick to the punching theme, I hope they give it a sense of uniqueness.

A multi hit combo, a singular more powerful melee, even a projectile. Just ANYTHING but a fifth shoulder charge.

Towerthought: Warlock robes act more like class items than their bonds.

    Posted: 02 May 2021 12:01 AM PDT

The robes are the center piece to a Warlocks outfit and yet their bonds are to small and impractical for a class item. I look at the robes in a similar way hunter's probably look at their cloaks.

    Edit: Typo

Bungie, giving us 3-5 weapon components after a game is fine, I'd rather do away with blues and get that and occasional playlist weapons/armor than a flooding amount of blues.

    Posted: 02 May 2021 07:36 PM PDT

Seriously, I know is taboo to ask for less items in an inventory manager simulator but I play Destiny for (and I'm sorry to say this) FPS mechanics, and I'm tired of blues, when I need infusion fodder I'll disable auto dismantle, you can be sure of that.

Bungie, give me a reason to visit planets again please!

    Posted: 02 May 2021 01:17 AM PDT

I've been doing a bit of Dreaming City farming recently and I love loading into a location rather than a playlist. It's a nice change of pace to load in and just sorta roam around and explore.

It'd be nice to have a reason to do the same on EDZ, Nessus, Moon, Cosmodrome and Tangled Shore. Europa has the weapon quests from Variks, so there's something to do there at least. It would also be a good opportunity to bring some more sunset weapons back, like they did with the small collection on Moon/Dreaming City.

I'm thinking a similar bounty set-up to the Dreaming City to obtain these, rather than rank-up packages.

The EDZ could give Scathelocke, Lincoln Green (a rapid fire pulse!), Complex Solution (adaptive frame sword!) and something like Call to Serve or Hawthorne's Field-Forged shotgun.

Nessus could bring back some Omolon weapons. Uriel's Gift, Out of Options (solar SMG!), Agenda-5 (another rapid fire pulse!) and Seven-Six-Five.

For Tangled Shore, Right Side of Wrong (another rapid fire pulse!), Ether Doctor and Dust Rock Blues.

No idea about the Cosmodrome, but I'm sure there's some that are applicable. A new Legendary Khvostov, anyone?

Some of these with updated perk pools could be fun, and it's always nice to have weapon options... right?!

    EDIT: Thanks for the award!

For solo players who want to do a Grandmaster Nightfall I suggest Polaris Lance on Arms Dealer

    Posted: 02 May 2021 12:32 PM PDT

My favorite thing to do in D2 is trying to solo all Nightfalls on master difficulty. This is the first Nightfall I've done on grandmaster. To farm adept weapons, mods, shards, the seasonal challenge and peronally I like a challenge in most games.

I have no idea how the Polaris Lance was received by the community when it first released. As a returning player it felt underwhelming when I unlocked it and put it in my vault and didn't use it since.

After trying runs with Anarchy, Xenophage, Dead Man's Tale and several other exotics I felt Polaris to be the easiest to use. Despite not being the best DPS option available it shines against the most dangerous enemies in this nightfall, the barrier champions. Just stay at long range and keep shooting at their head. As long as you keep hitting the precision shots your magazine will be filled, combine that with Sundering Glare to apply the debuff and shoot a rocket or throw a grenade for extra damage.

The loadout I used out was the following build (video link below)

    • Top tree voidwalker warlock with Contraverse Hold for easy boss cheese with grenades
    • Hand cannon for unstoppable champions
    • Polaris Lance, the star of the show, perfect for barrier champions
    • Rocket Launcher for extra DPS and taking out Tresher ships
    • Sundering Glare on class armor

In this run I went for a Warmind Cell build but you can do anything you want. The cells didn't help out that much. A Charged with Light build with High Energy Fire is another good option.

My earlier runs were almost an hour long but after lots of runs past few weeks I can now consistently do it between 35 and 40 minutes. Full run gameplay recording

I hope this can help other solo players who would like to try this. Feel free to ask any questions.

    Enjoy

I really hope we get a subsistence + reservoir burst fusion for PvE next season

    Posted: 02 May 2021 10:02 AM PDT

Since they are tuning the perk, its a no brainer that its coming back next season. They also made some changes to subsistence, which makes it a much more attractive perk. Having that reservoir burst perk keep procing if you get one kill would made it an amazing PvE weapon, while keeping it pretty balanced in PvP, given that you would have to get a ton of ammo (something I used to do with LQ from time time lol).

Introduced My Girlfriend to Destiny Recently

    Posted: 02 May 2021 03:01 PM PDT

I've been playing Destiny around my girlfriend a lot for the last 7 months or so, and last night, she asked me if we could play it together. So I hooked up my old ps4 to the tv, and my ps5 to my monitor and we created new D1 characters. She picked warlock because she liked the way the clothes looked. We just finished Dark Below last night. She is loving it so far, but she keeps asking why her character isn't grabbing the ledges like she's seen in D2. Jumping is the hardest part for her, but she's been getting better from not hitting 90% of her khvostov shots in the first mission. (lol) I'm really happy that I get to share my favorite passtime with her now and she can't wait to get to D2. (not sure how she'll do with the New Light experience but I'll get her to the good stuff) This is the first shooter she's played, she normally plays Bloons on her laptop, so this was a bit of a step outside of her comfort zone, but I'm really proud of her. She seems to be really excited to play, because she keeps asking me when we can play more.

TL/DR: girlfriend started playing destiny 1 with me recently, she's getting a lot better than she was when she started and is really excited about the game and world

Brand new to Destiny 2 and FPS games in general but I'm having a blast.

    Posted: 02 May 2021 08:26 PM PDT

Chose the Titan class and I believe am just getting to my first real boss fight. I just received my first vehicle and have been having so much fun just roaming around the first area killing mobs with players and doing public events.

I'm curious about how close I am to getting past what feels like the tutorial part of the game though. Any advice?

    submitted by /u/VirtualAaronTTV

I'll bet anything that next season's ritual weapon is a fusion rifle with Reservoir Burst.

    Posted: 02 May 2021 03:22 PM PDT

I've seen a bunch of people saying it will come back on Praetorian Foil. It certainly could, but I honestly think it's gonna be the pursuit weapon this time instead. Maybe it will even come back as a universal perk for fusions. It would certainly make fusions much better for PvE.

Vigilance Wing should get radar when ads-ing when Last Guardian Standing instead of Full Auto as its catalyst

    Prophecy Hexahedron glitch

    Posted: 02 May 2021 12:11 PM PDT

Since Beyond Light, a glitch keeps on occurring in the Hexahedron encounter of the Prophecy Dungeon. This glitch prevents the player from being teleported to the next room, causing the encounter to go into a softlock. For solo (flawless) runs this is incredibly unfair as it makes the encounter virtually impossible to complete.

This glitch has stolen a flawless run from me for the third time in a row now, and I haven't been able to complete this encounter even once because of the glitch. So I'd really appreciate it if this glitch gets fixed.

Why are +200 flawlesses, not to mention gilded flawlesses, matching with people with absolutely no flawlesses?

    Posted: 01 May 2021 10:12 PM PDT

    Title.

Why in the hell am I matching with people that have over 200 flawlesses when I can't even get more than 5 wins in a row?

EDIT: This is rhetorical. Please don't respond explaining, I know how it works.

"According to official Vanguard policy, this weapon does not exist."

    Crimson
24x18"/60x45c - mixed media on canvas (16:9 edit).

A suggestion from a fellow player. Almost called it done before I had even added the splatters to the barrel shroud. Finished it up earlier this week. Really like the way the red from the aerosol, ink dropper, and brush blended together in the end.
