Bungie- it’s time to get rid of the Surrounded, Dragonfly and Rampage Spec Mods and merge their effects into their respective perks.

    Posted: 28 Jul 2021 08:03 AM PDT

These appear to be a relic of outdated design choices from Forsaken where combinations of Surrounded, Dragonfly and Rampage could roll on the same gun (which are now all sunset), so the mods would therefore give you a choice of which aspect of the gun you want to focus on. Now, since weapons typically can't roll with 2 of these perks, if you get a drop with one of them, you are basically forced to use the corresponding mod to make the perk it's most effective (and competitive with other, newer perks, such as giving Rampage the same duration as Swashbuckler), rather than use another mod or even an Adept Mod, essentially taking away meaningful choice from the player.

There really isn't any reason at this point not to combine the effects of these mods with the default versions of their respective perks. This would also eliminate clutter in the mod selection panels as well.

    The Dropbox Glitch

    Posted: 28 Jul 2021 02:03 PM PDT

    Hey guys.

We've been sitting on another glitch. This time, it's a glitch that allows you to get out of almost any box barrier in the game.

    What you need:

    • 2 sparrows.

    That's it.

    How to do it:

    1. Flip a sparrow over near a pit.

    2. Get another Sparrow by leaving the zone and coming back.

    3. Hop off the sparrow next to the flipped sparrow. Make sure it falls into the pit.

    4. Look at the flipped sparrow. It should say "Ride Sparrow".

    5. Wait about 5 seconds, then hold whatever to "Ride Sparrow".

    6. You'll be teleported to the falling Sparrow and will be out of the box.

    7. Fly around and explore.

    Here's the 2 minute tutorial:

Bungie Plz Addition: Buff Rally Barricade

    Posted: 28 Jul 2021 06:26 PM PDT

    Hello Guardians,

This topic has been added to Bungie Plz.
Going forward, all posts suggesting this change will be removed and redirected to this Megathread.

    Submitted by: u/GillySuits

    Date approved: 07/22/21

    Modmail Discussion:

u/GillySuits: "The Rally barricade has seen a huge usage decline in both PvE and PvP. You can make a case for it in niche scenarios in PvE but it's dead in PvP especially with the functionality of the Citan's Ramparts.

"Approximately every 3 weeks, we get a thread about rally barricades being useless and needing a buff with no response. I had the highest upvoted barricade thread (see first link) without no acknowledgement. With a focus on abilities coming up in the next few seasons, it would be great to get some response that they see this as a problem or not and/or would be willing to work on it."

    Examples given:

    Criteria Used:

"...3 examples (with links) of recent submissions (with at least 1 being over 30 days old), that have been well received (hundreds of upvotes on the front page of the sub - ex. 300+ upvotes)."

How to beat THE DISGRACED on GRANDMASTER difficulty explained in about 6 minutes!

    Posted: 28 Jul 2021 08:33 AM PDT

    Video: https://youtu.be/zxQ-9u7ERPw

    Hello!

Happy to bring you your weekly short grandmaster nightfall guide!

Barrier + Unstoppable champs means the nice usual scout and GL loadouts! This one isn't too bad as long as you play it slow and patient. If you try to rush in and get greedy to kill enemies, you will get swarmed and sniped. Hang back and worth your way through the ads as a team!

As for the boss fight... good lord why does she have so much HP? Thrall are spawning 24/7 while you are doing damage to her so keep your head on a swivel so you don't get snuck up on. Be very careful with your anarchy, take your shots at her when she is stationary and you know you can hit.

The secondary GLs here make things not so bad compared to double primary in previous seasons, but she still has a LOT of health!

As always, any questions? Drop em below, ill try to answer them all!

    Good luck!

After many close attempts, I finally beat Prophecy Solo Flawless.

    Posted: 28 Jul 2021 10:35 AM PDT

After dying to dark entropy x10 while having done 6.8mil damage to the boss, I can definitely say Solo Flawless taught me a lot about my patience and resilience in regards to Destiny lol. My last 10ish attempts saw me dying in the boss room to silly mistakes. I felt a huge sense of relief when I finally cleared it last night. Here is a link to my dungeon report clear for proof. I'll post what I used below in case anyone is curious. Also, I do want to note that yesterday was prism day so I was empowered quite a lot. Definitely an added bonus to doing this during the solstice event.

I used my warlock with top/middle tree solar and bottom tree void. My armor and combat mods stayed the same throughout the dungeon. The only thing I changed were finders/scavengers/reloaders where relevant. Notable stats include T10 Recovery and T8 Discipline. My ikelos smg had demolitionist, which was key in helping me always have a heal. All of my legendary weapons also had taken spec on.

    Armor

    • Exotic: Transversive steps + 1 Recuperation mod.
    • CWL Mods: Taking Charge & Protective Light
    • Warmind: Global Reach, Wrath of Rasputin, and Rage of the Warmind
    • Seasonal: Breach and Clear.
    • Chest: 2x Concussive dampener.
    • Arms: SMG loader & GL loader.

I used top tree solar to skip to the phalanx fight. I would also take a complete set of dark motes with me to clear 1-2 of the wells of light prior to starting the encounter. I found this when watching speedruns of the dungeon.

    Phalanx Encounter

    • Middle tree solar
    • Witherhoard
    • Ikelos SMG
    • Falling Guillotine

    Blights

    • Bottom Tree Void
    • Succession
    • Ikelos SMG
    • Anarchy

    Cube Room

    • Bottom Tree Void
    • Heritage
    • Ikelos SMG
    • Xenophage. I probably could have taken off breach and clear, but it didn't occur to me until right now lol. I would have used double bomber, super charged, wrath of rasputin. That should equal 10.

    Ribbon Road

    • Top Tree solar.
    • Always on time sparrow

    Boss Arena

    • Bottom tree void
    • Ignition Code (blinding, slideshot, vorpal)
    • Ikelos SMG/ Point of Stag (During Boss fight for goblins + good DPS option).
    • Anarchy

Best of luck to anyone thinking about trying and to those of you who are currently grinding this out! There are so many guides and loadouts out there, but let me know if you have any encounter/loadout related questions.

Each season’s adept GM weapon shader should be a reward for gilding the conqueror title for that specific season.

    Posted: 28 Jul 2021 08:12 AM PDT

Since there has been a lot of debate about gilding conqueror and the incentive of doing so, another way to make people more keen on doing it could be to have a unique reward for each time you gild it. Since each season's adept GM weapons have had their own unique color scheme (chosen was gold/red, splicer is gunmetal/dark blue) maybe being able to put that on other items would be a cool signifier that's says "I got gilded conqueror in season ___". Maybe if there was to be GM armor, using the gilded conqueror shader would also display the season number in Roman numerals on the armor too. Seems like an interesting GM reward to deepen its grind.

The current Umbral Engram system would feel a lot better if each weapon could be targeted instead of 50% or 33% chance.

    Posted: 28 Jul 2021 11:19 AM PDT

    Hello

Ive been farming stochastic variable for almost a month and still haven't the roll that i want. Thats fine because thats how RNG works, but its really un motivating when you get one of the other 2 weapons that are in the pool of the umbral engram. The Stochastic variable is in the FWC close range with 2 other undesirable weapons to me. The system would feel much better with only one layer of RNG instead of 2

This same logic would be great for Nightfall's, maybe there being a screen in the menu that allows you to choose a certain weapon when there is more than one in a current week (like this week).

This is why menagerie system was so great.

Can we please get a rework on PVE ONLY resilience?

    Posted: 28 Jul 2021 03:51 AM PDT

As a Titan, most of my armor comes with a lot of it but the difference between a T6 and T10 is negligible when I can just put on a Sniper mod and that alone will let me survive that shot. Can we please get it to give more resist? I don't need that T10 just for the barricade to be up all the time. Thank you!

Destiny should get a permanent non-seasonal wave based activity with witch queen

    Posted: 28 Jul 2021 02:54 PM PDT

I'm not sure what story or setting this mode would take, but it should be something akin to Escalation protocol but different.

The main theme of the mode should be defending a position against waves of enemies, this would be a fun dumb mode that you and your fire team could go into and slay mobs of enemies. Maybe every few waves a Goliath Tank would show up or Spider Tank, some boss, etc. I'm no game designer so I could go on and on with details but just a fun dumb place to use our cool weapons and abilities against as many enemies as bungie can push at us would be cool.

Dul Incaru VS Crown-Splitter - One Slam

    Posted: 28 Jul 2021 07:12 AM PDT

Killing Dul Incaru with one slam from the Crown Splitter.

    https://youtu.be/3HVYpFqIvYY

My Crown Splitter had Flash Counter (not needed as she doesn't stomp or melee) + Counter attack (50% increase) with Boss Spec Slotted.

My Armor included 4 old sunsetted reverie dawn armor pieces that allow both rivens curse and transcendant blessing on the same armor piece which actually stack on top of each other. My Stronghold also had transcendant blessing on. Stronghold (paired with replenishing guard CWL mod) was used to get my heavy attack back quicker (it drains whilst blocking) because the window for counter attack is very small.

I used lucent blade as my buff with breach and clear as a debuff before quickly switching to energy accelerant for that broken damage. As its now the last week of Solstice its PRISM day every day so i used an arc subclass and got arc empowerment for even more sword damage ( btw i kinda did this without arc empowerment but i needed witherhoard to finish her off https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YM53as9AFMs)

edit: This vid has been approved for bungie's communit creations (MOTW submissions) , please upvote if u can - https://www.bungie.net/en/Community/Detail?itemId=259349013

edit2: seems like the lucent blade wasnt applying on initial swing ( i think i was so used to whirlwind that i overlooked it ) , wow no buff shows how insanely more broken it is!!

Is the community getting better at GMs or are they easier

    Posted: 28 Jul 2021 09:43 AM PDT

Out of 17 attempts across all GMs I completed 8. Half of those were no mic lfgs. Last seasons, I never would have joined a no mic GM. Now I see no mic LFGs run up to champions like that wasn't a sure way to die 2 seasons ago.

In general, guardians don't play conservative anymore. The fear is gone. Also, having only one revive mid strike is no longer a reason to star because Fireteams tend to clutch until they stock up on revives again.

Glass way took 5 attempts this season and it was fairly chill. First time out, it took me 35 tries and my hands would shake when we got to 1/3.

I've also noticed a lot more conquerors in the Tower.

Are people used the GMs and know what to expect ? Is breach and clear Op ? Is it stasis ? Is the selection of GMs easier ?

Also, is there a way to check Charlemagne to confirm my suspicions about how well the community is progressing in GMs ?

Explosive Wellmaker allows Withering Blade to generate Elemental Wells.

    Posted: 28 Jul 2021 11:01 PM PDT

As title says. Explosive Wellmaker creates a solar well on 2 rapid explosive kills. for some reason, this also includes withering blade, allowing blade to generate its own CwL with elemental charge or any other elemental well effects. Getting 2+ kills with a withering blade in PvE generates an elemental solar well.

Edit: FYI, shatterdiving glacier crystals does the same, but that makes sense given it's clearly explosive damage.

Also works on Diamond Lance kills.

    Also works on penumbral blast

It seems to work on any stasis kills. This is huge, because now we can start making ability-only builds a lot easier with stasis through firepower/heavy handed and elemental charge!

I am PL 1335, and my two friends are around 1345 (both hunters). We finished the GM NF last night in the first try, and I actually helped significantly! Using Bleakwatcher and healing Rift + the new warlock boots. I also had both unstoppable and barrier covered (devils ruin and hung jury). Despite being 25 levels below recommended, I was able to crowd control adds, stun champions, and keep my teammates alive (from a distance)!

    Master VOG: Oracle Challenge Guide!

    Posted: 28 Jul 2021 10:31 AM PDT

    CHALLENGE:

The oracle challenge specifically is that nobody can shoot an oracle twice during the 5 waves of oracles in the encounter.

Lil map and locations drawing: https://i.imgur.com/RABHsbe.jpg

    SET-UP:

Two teams of 3, try and make sure both teams have a well of radiance warlock with phoenix protocol on. Positioning is left team hangs out around L3/"hidden left" oracle, right team hangs out around the right ledge where the Templar can teleport to (overlooks middle stairs and the area near the rally flag/spawn location).

Naming oracles is L1, L2, and L3 on left, R1, R2, and R3 on right, and M for the middle oracle. Due to the nature of the challenge, two oracles need to be bundled up together to be watched by a person at any given time, we chose to bundle R1 and R2.

    EXECUTION:

Each side has 3 spots to cover, left is covering: (L1), (L2) and (L3) while right side covers (M), (R1 + R2), and (R3). Each person starts covering a spot, and after each wave, you switch in **ascending order** with it overflowing back to 1 if applicable. For example, someone starting covering (R1+R2), will then cover (R3), then (M).

After the 3rd wave of oracles, both teams of 3 simply switch sides with one another, and then cover the equivalent oracle you ***started*** with on the new side. For example, if you started (for wave 1) with M on right, when you switch sides, you will cover L1 on the 4th wave, and then ascend to L2 for the 5th and final wave.

The strat ensures easy overload minotaur kills, and low threat from all the other ads. The two non-well players in each team should just try and feed orbs to the well. The well uptime is pretty high throughout the encounter. Recommend saving an ad clear super on each team for when you switch sides, so you can nuke any leftover ads before settling back into the next wave.

    BONUS:

This strategy actually works great for non-challenge mode, and I definitely plan using this going forward in master VOG, just remove the swapping part between the 3rd and 4th waves of oracles for non-challenge weeks.

The Absolute Dumbest Eyes on Atheon Triumph Strat

    Posted: 28 Jul 2021 07:31 PM PDT

    What you need:
Heir Apparent (catalyst not needed but heavily recommended)
    Healing Nade warlocks (optional)

    That's it.

One or two people can have heir apparent revved and just have the supplicants explode next to you.

Do DPS to Atheon from the center island. Don't do it in front of portal for obvious reasons.

After DPS has ended, the heir apparent user jumps back and starts revving while going into whichever side has a lot of supplicants.

If your team has Well-locks have them constantly throw healing grenades at the heir apparent guy.

Oh, and small warning. DO NOT PLACE A WELL ON TOP THE THE PLATE PILLARS. Well can do damage to the supplicants and forfeit the challenge when they explode.

As an extra precaution get the Atheon Checkpoint on another character, as when the triumph fails the game does not tell you. Best to have another checkpoint as a backup then trust your teammates lol

This is the absolute dumbest strat i swear
Worked a treat for my attempt thats for sure

    Journey to Solo Gilded Conqueror

    Posted: 28 Jul 2021 03:14 PM PDT

So, this post was inspired by u/SadRaccoonNoises who is attempting to solo all GM Nightfalls this season. Well, I set the same goal for myself last season and was able to complete it. As of today, I'm at 5/6 done for this season as well.

With all that said, I noticed some people on their post were interested in seeing footage/full runs and I have all 6 from last season plus 5 (of 6 so far, missing the Glassway) from this season. For some of this season's NFs I have completions on different classes.

I have a modest YT channel where I post content almost daily. Towards the end of seasons I have a lot of solo GM stuff (some with commentary, some without) but I also do vendor, build, lost sector videos, and guides.

For seal completion, please remove collections.

    Posted: 28 Jul 2021 09:21 AM PDT

Here we are, 6 days from being able to do the last step of being able to complete the VoG raid seal, earn the coolest to date title for destiny nerds, fatebreaker, and knowing that no matter how many times/hours i've spent in VoG since release, i won't be able to get it next week. Why?

    Vex fucking Mythoclast.

The requirement to get an exotic with a low ass chance to drop, despite 33 lootable runs (plus an extra 10 i've done sherpa-ing people) keeping me from finishing collections, is disheartening. Please remove raid exotics from collection tabs, or make them not count towards the collections.

Who knows, i might get it next week on tuesday, then again i might be waiting a couple more weeks to ever get RNGeezus to bless me on my path to fatebreakerness.
