This week at Bungie, we begin to prepare for Cross Play!

Welcome to another installment of the TWAB. We have four more of these before the August 24 reveal! Wait a second... we only have four? Including this one? Oh wow. We have a bit to get through.

Let's start with something that's going on in the game right now. Solstice of Heroes. Our annual Solstice event is coming to an end next Tuesday, August 3. You have a little under five days to complete your armor objectives. White glows don't have a deadline, so if you're still gathering orbs (and objectives), take your time. Dungeons, Raids, and Competitive Crucible objectives for the glows can be completed any time.

Still with me? Cool. Let's start looking at the future. We hosted a beta for this a few months back, but we're happy to share more details about an upcoming feature that players have been asking for since Destiny first arrived: Cross Play.

    Cross Play is Coming!

In Season 15, Cross Play comes to life. Guardians across Xbox, PlayStation, PC, and Stadia will be able to join fireteams to take on the Darkness together. Boundaries will be broken and new friendships will be forged – no matter the platform.

As we prepare for liftoff, the Cross Play Team is providing a quick tour of Cross Play. How do you add friends? How will matchmaking work? What will the UI look like? A bunch of answers will be found below! We'll have a few images to help guide you through the user interface so you know what to expect at launch. Note: These previews will be in English, but the Cross Play UI will include all supported languages. Without further ado, let's dive in.

Cross Play Team: There are big changes afoot. So big, that I recommend getting a snack before starting this read. Back already? Okay, here we go.

This is what we're going to cover:

    • Your Guardian's Identity
    • Naming Changes
    • Bungie Friends
    • Fireteam Invites and Multiplayer
    • Privacy
    • Cross Play Matchmaking
    • Cross Play Communication
    • The Cross Play Roadmap

But First, You Deserve a Thank You!

Early during Season 14, we crossed the platform streams and invited you to participate in a three-day Vanguard Strikes Cross Play matchmaking beta. Our goals were to prove early versions of our matchmaking changes, as well as test out connectivity for gameplay between the platforms. Numerous Guardians answered the call and helped us test out the backend of this upcoming feature! As it turned out, we may have accidentally left an unintended door open... oops. Even though we had to shut that down, we weren't the only ones who were delighted to finally hug our long-lost cross-platform friends in-game. Thank you for going on this journey with us. You helped build confidence in what we're delivering to the community in Season 15: full Cross Play across all Destiny 2 platforms.

    Who Am I?

In a Cross Play world that also supports Cross Save, it quickly became clear to us that we had a Guardian identity crisis.

We didn't want the name over your Guardian's head to change based on where you logged into the game. We felt this fought against the fantasy of who you are in this new unified Destiny community. Even more concerning, we didn't want the names of your friends and clan mates to change based on where they logged into the game. Having to keep a who's-who cheat sheet of your friends' names didn't meet our effortless bar for Cross Play.

As such, we're converting everyone's name over to an identity that will remain consistent across all platforms you play from. We're calling this your Bungie Name. While this will cause a one-time naming reshuffle, we feel this is better for everyone in the long run. Here's how Bungie Names will work and look:

    • "Bungie Name": PlayerName#1234
    • "Display Name": PlayerName
    • "Hash": #
    • "Numeric ID": 1234

Here's an example of a player tooltip in the Roster screen, surrounded by players from different platforms:

    Image Linkimgur

And an example of what players will look like in the Tower:

    Image Linkimgur

    What's in a Name?

As part of the creation of Bungie Names, we will be running all player names through a character filtration process and an offensive term moderation process. First, we will be stripping out all characters that we are unable to display in the game or that can't be typed into the player search box via console virtual keyboards. This means some of the extended character sets we've supported for player names on Steam will no longer be able to be used. We will miss you, fellow Guardian [Hand Cannon][Sniper Rifle][Rocket Launcher], but we do want your console friends to be able to find you via player search.

    Image Linkimgur

It is possible that due to removing these characters, players will end up with empty names, or names that result in offensive terms. If your name ends up empty or includes a moderated term, you will find the quite unremarkable "Guardian[Random Number]" name over your character's head. While we won't have a name change feature at launch, we are working diligently to get you an early version of this feature this winter. We highly recommend you think carefully about what name you'd like to rock in Destiny 2 sooner rather than later, as we don't want you to be stuck with a handle you're not overly fond of when the name change feature goes live.

    You've Got Friends in Me

The Bungie roster experience has always been an essential part of our games. For Cross Play we wanted to deliver that same simple experience, no matter where your friends might be playing. To make this happen we created a system to bridge the platforms called Bungie Friends. Now, we didn't want to add considerable complexity, so you'll still find all of your friends in one flat list. To make it a bit easier to find a specific friend, we've also added a platform filter. You can still see just the friends who are logged into the same platform as you.

You've always been able to have clan members across multiple platforms in Destiny 2, but finally with the launch of Cross Play you'll be able to see everyone who's online and team up to go earn your clan rewards. Hopefully there are some new friends to be made in your clan.

The One Where You Find Your Friends

Cross Play without an easy way to add new friends, well, doesn't get it done. As such, there are three different ways to add your friends from all platforms to your Bungie Friends.

    • Log into Destiny 2 on a device where you want to turn platform friends into Bungie Friends, and then issue requests via our Roster screen.
    • Search for your friends using player search on the Invite screen.
    • Use Bungie.net friends finder, where you can link all of your platforms, and then issue Bungie Friends requests to all your platform friends.

The Bungie.net friend finder will become available alongside Cross Play, and will be found at https://www.bungie.net/friends.

So, let's talk about the in-game options...

    Have Friends, Will Fireteam

In order to make fireteam invites work across all platforms, we've pulled all of the invite infrastructure into the game. When you get a fireteam invite you'll see an in-game invite notification. To accept the invite, you'll navigate to the Roster screen, then the invite section, and then interact with the invite to accept and join your fireteam. Notice that the Invite screen is where you can search for other Guardians, accept friend requests, and clan invites.

    Image Linkimgur

Teaming up with Potential New Friends

Destiny is a game filled with aspirational content. To help players find each other, our community has built a series of external group finding forums and tools. Including our own Fireteam Finder, which can now issue fireteam invites to all platforms! When building Cross Play we wanted to make sure that our new fireteam invite system wasn't getting in the way to pulling together your fireteam. As such, the invite screen allows for players to search for each other and issue fireteam invites.

    Image Linkimgur

That said, there are members of our community who experience targeted harassment. To help players protect themselves, we've added a block system so that players can protect themselves. . We've also added additional privacy tools so that players can protect themselves from broad harassment. Most of the social privacy settings can be accessed from the Roster screen, where you will have control over the different kinds of invites you're willing to see and consider. For the time being, your privacy setting for clan invites will still be controlled through your personal Bungie.net privacy settings, which can be found here: https://www.bungie.net/en/Profile/Settings?category=Privacy

    Image Linkimgur

While we're on the subject, now is a good time to remind everyone of our Code of Conduct. Targeted harassment can result in account restrictions and bans. Be kind to each other, Guardians.

    A Level Playing Field

In Cross Play we're striving to create a global community of Guardians. At the same time, Cross Play enabled us to ask a ton of questions about input methods, and how we create a level playing field in competitive modes. While the following might not be the answer forever, it will be our approach for matchmaking in competitive modes (Crucible, Iron Banner, Trials, Gambit) at Cross Play launch:

    • PC players will match with other PC players.
    • Console players will match with other console players.

      • Note: Stadia will be in the Console pool.
    • Fireteams with any combination of PC players and console players will match in the PC player pool.

For PvE modes, there will be one global matchmaking pool.

    Chatting With Your Friends

When Cross Play releases, voice chat between platforms will not be enabled. We have run into some late-breaking issues with development and are currently working on making sure this experience is ready before shipping it live. We know this will create a less-than-ideal player experience out of the gate, and we even considered delaying Cross Play as a whole. Since we know that there is a lot of excitement and that the community will find ways to work around this in the interim, we decided to go ahead with the launch. We're currently targeting a fix for cross-platform voice chat in an update targeted for shortly after Cross Play goes live.

We see text chat as a critical tool for player communication in our action MMO game. At Cross Play launch, text chat will still be available on Steam. From launch through The Witch Queen, we'll add text chat support across the console platforms. We'll start with displaying text, so that console players can at least see what their PC friends are talking about. And then we will add USB keyboard support, so that everyone can join in. Note: USB keyboards on consoles will only be for chat and will not be able to control your character.

    Launch is Just the Beginning

Cross Play launch isn't the end of our ambition. There are a number of improvements we'll be bringing to the social experience of Cross Play leading up to The Witch Queen.

    • Early Season 15

      • Bungie Name and Bungie Friends
      • Cross Platform Invites, Multiplayer, and Matchmaking
      • Player Search and Social Privacy
    • Soon after launch - Cross Platform Voice Chat

    • Winter - Bungie Name Changes

    • Winter - Text Chat Display on Consoles

    • Winter - Text Input Via USB Keyboards on Consoles

    • Till We See Each Other Again, Using Cross Play!

We're excited to gather all Guardians into one global community. A lot of us play on different devices and have friends, coworkers, and clanmates that we haven't played with in years. We can't wait to hop into a raid or clear some GM Nightfalls with long lost friends. As always, we'll be listening across all of our channels for feedback! Thank you, and we can't wait for you to jump in and let us know what you think.

    The Cross Play Team

So, there is one burning question we didn't answer here. When exactly does Cross Play go live? The team is working hard to dot the i's and cross the t's. Stay tuned, and we'll let you know when the date is locked in.

Flying the Banner, One Last Time (This Season)

Lord Saladin returns next week to host the final Iron Banner of the Season. Once the confetti and decorations from Solstice have been cleared, your power will be tested in Crucible combat. You've had nearly a full Season to reach the pinnacle cap, but Iron Banner bounties will still be available for those looking to catch up.

    Iron Banner

Start: 10 AM PDT, August 3

End: 10 AM PDT, August 10

This will also be a final chance for the Season to earn some Iron Banner-themed rewards. Riiswalker and Archon's Thunder can be earned from the quest, as well as post-game drops and bounty completions. While these will continue to be available in Season 15, Lord Saladin is looking to bring a couple of new weapons into the fold, fit for an Iron Lord.

Alright, enough teasing. We have some points to capture. See you on Tuesday!

Bungie Foundation Update: Giving Campaign Total

Before we go any further, we'd like to take a moment to celebrate. When it comes to caring for the world at large, time and time again, you Guardians blow our expectations out of the water. Earlier this month, we hosted the Bungie Foundation Giving Campaign, and the Bungie Foundation has an update for you on how much was raised. Spoiler alert: it was a lot!

Bungie Foundation: Earlier this month we celebrated Bungie Day, a beloved tradition that celebrates the best of our community – the camaraderie, the competition, and the care we all have for one another. This year we invited you to incorporate charitable giving into your festivities and you all stepped up in a big way!

Because of each of you, we raised $822,000! Every single dollar will go directly to improving the health and wellbeing of children, uplifting the rights of all individuals and communities, and providing aid to people all over the world in times of crisis.

Many of you earned one or more in-game items as a thank you for your donations. As a reminder, those prize tiers are as follows:

    • $10+: "The Bungie Foundation" emblem.
    • $25+: Above, plus the NEW "Circadian Guard" emblem.
    • $50+: Above, plus NEW Exotic "Buoyant Shell."
    • $75+: Above, plus NEW Exotic "Tiny Tank."

As of today, these codes have made their way to your inboxes! You'll find an email from the Bungie Foundation to the email address you used to make your donation. Remember, if you don't see it in your Inbox, you may need to check your spam, promotions, or updates folders. Once codes are redeemed, you will find the Bungie Foundation emblem under Collections>Flair>General. You can pick up your Circadian Guard emblem, Buoyant Shell Ghost, and Tiny Tank emote from the Cryptarch in the Tower!

As a reminder, to be eligible for the in-game items listed above, donations must have been made to this campaign between July 7 and July 20 at 11:59 PM PDT. Donors received one unique redemption code per in-game item, per email for qualifying donations.

To say thank you is an understatement for the gratitude we feel for each of you who have answered the call in supporting those in our immediate and extended community. The Bungie community both saves and changes lives in truly profound ways, and we hope you feel enormous pride in the great work you are a part of.

    Love,

    The Bungie Foundation

Supporting the Player, one TWAB at a Time

    Image Linkimgur

With each TWAB, our Player Support team provides a list of high-priority information for you to consume. Bug tracks, active investigations, Hotfix notes, and more. Without them, we'd be lost in the dark without a heading.

    This is their report.

    PREPARING FOR CROSS PLAY

Early in Season 15, Cross Play will go live. When players log in for the first time to play Season 15, the name on whatever platform they log in on will become their Bungie Name for when Cross Play goes live. Players should begin thinking about what name they'd like to use since name changes won't be available with the launch of Cross Play.

    BUNGIE STORE UPDATES

Migration of accounts and orders have taken longer than anticipated to our updated Bungie Store, resulting in players being unable to reset their passwords or locate their orders. We're continuing to migrate everything over and hope to have a resolution soon.

Due to these issues, we are extending the deadline to receive the free exclusive in-game emblem, New Blue, to August 13, 11:59 PM PDT. Emails with codes will be distributed on August 20. For those who reset their password before July 31, 11:59 PM PDT, email codes will be sent out on August 6.

    HOTFIX 3.2.1.3 RELEASED

Earlier today, we released Update 3.2.1.3. It includes:

    • An issue that allowed a small number of players to circumvent fireteam privacy settings on Steam has been resolved.
    • The eyes on the Ghoyster Exotic Ghost Shell should now be visible on all platforms.
    • Master Vault of Glass loot lockouts have been separated from Normal. Both are now available independently each week. Pinnacle loot will only drop from the first weekly clear regardless of difficulty.

    KNOWN ISSUES

While we continue investigating various known issues, here is a list of the latest issues that were reported to us in our #Help Forum:

    • There is a visual issue with Helmets when using the Praefectus Cloak ornament.
    • The Bombardiers bomb detonations deal no damage to active Supers.
    • The Metro Shift shader may not unlock when purchasing the Year-1 Shader Bundle.
    • Video settings that have been turned offrevert when restarting Destiny 2.

For a full list of emergent issues in Destiny 2, players can review our Known Issues article. Players who observe other issues should report them to our #Help forum.

Some of us have been playing games for a long time. Graphics have evolved to the point where it's becoming difficult to tell what's real and what's in the game. First pick this week takes Destiny back to a time where things were a bit more pixelated, but still just as fun.

    Night is Returning

Summer Solstice has come and gone here in the States. The days are growing shorter. Night is reclaiming lost time. The Big Dark, as it's known in Seattle, will soon take the throne. As we begin to lose the light, we embrace a few awesome pieces made by community artists this week that fit the tone.

As always, throw #DestinyArt or #Destiny2Art whenever posting your works. If they land a spot in the TWAB, you'll receive a fun in-game emblem for your troubles.

Chances are that by the time this TWAB is out, I'll be on my way to an airport. Spending some time this weekend with family back home, as I haven't had an opportunity to spend time with them since late 2019. It's been a long time, and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't filled to the brim with excitement. Between this trip and our upcoming 8/24 reveal, it's almost too much to handle.

I have to admit, this visit may be a little bittersweet. We'll more than likely share stories of isolation, vaccination availability, and take a moment to remember those who we've lost over the last year to COVID-19 and its rising variants.

As we continue to live through this pandemic, please be safe and show care for those around you. Mask up, snag a vaccine if you're able to, and do what you can to help stop the spread. We're all in this together, and we'll get through it if we each do our part.

    Much love,

21% of players have beaten at last 1 GM this season

    Posted: 29 Jul 2021 03:20 PM PDT

Frankly I found this pretty surprising, 1/5 players have beaten at least 1 GM this season. With all the talk and comments on reddit I see about how hard they are and how Bungie wants to gatekeep etc I was sure it would be like 5%

I personally beat my first GM yesterday so I'm new to the group I suppose. To those who haven't yet, good luck.

    - Edit, the number comes from Braytech.org if you check the seasonal challenge for doing a grandmaster nightfall it comes in at like 20.7% I rounded to 21% to keep it simple.

Rework Skull of Dire Ahamkara and make it a Cuirass of the Fallen Star

    Posted: 29 Jul 2021 07:13 AM PDT

since the top tree nova bomb is underwhelming and hasnt seen big usage. other then with contraverse hold and with the nerf to skull of dire ahamkara a while back the usage dropped since then. my suggestion is a rework of skull in terms of getting extra damage with your nova bomb. so its on par with its counter parts cuirass of the fallen star or celestial nighthawk. it, of course should only work with top tree nova. it would spike the usage of top tree nova up and would give the nova bomb a usage in high tier content.

Dear Bungie: Please make Prophecy's sparrow intermission only have a 3 second respawn.

    Posted: 29 Jul 2021 03:58 PM PDT

Hello! Prophecy is probably my favorite of the three dungeons, except for one glaring, harsh issue: The sparrow racing part, right before the final boss? 40 second respawn timer. And if your friends, or you, die on it, there's likely no revive possible because of how high some of the spawn locations are. The starting area of this part has this problem especially.

My understanding is that it's not even an encounter, but an intermission, sorta like Deep Stone Crypt's space jumping section. A 40 second respawn timer, with most instances being unrevivable, for an otherwise super fun intermission, is grueling, especially for new players. The rest of the dungeon having high respawn timers makes total sense because they're actually encounters with loot tied to them.

I realized just how bad it was when I was excited to show my New Light friend that part and he died a few times, with no way for me to get back up and revive him because of how far it is and how high some respawn locations are, so he just sat there and waited for the respawn timer around 4-6 times. I'd love Prophecy so much more if the sparrow track had the normal 3 second respawn like Deep Stone Crypt's jumping section, And I hope I'm not alone on that.

    Thank you!

    General

    • Fixed an issue where the Ludomaniacal emblem did not have appropriate acquisition steps in its details.

    Raids

    Vault of Glass

    • Removed weapon drops from Master Vault of Glass encounter loot pools.

      • Players are guaranteed to receive stat-focused armor from Master difficulty encounters.

      • Both can now be looted independently each week.
    • Drops will only be at Pinnacle Power from the first weekly clear of each encounter.

      • Completing either encounter again after that will award Spoils of Conquest, and Masterwork Materials at Master difficulty.

    • Fixed an issue where Boots of the Emperor's Agent didn't display shaders correctly.

    General

We're saying general a lot, huh?

    • Fixed an issue where the Ghoyster Shell could heave horrific dead pupils in certain environments.

I am the undisputed champion of firing a Witherhoard shot between the legs of Knights.

    Posted: 29 Jul 2021 12:11 AM PDT

If the Olympics had this as a sport, or firing a shot through an Ogre's armpit, I'm definitely taking that gold home!

EDIT: So Bungie now has to make a whole Guardian Games where the goal is miss as many shots as possible (or perform trick shots) to settle this once and for all. Make it happen Bungo - it's what we want!

    Bleak Watcher Needs a Buff

    Posted: 29 Jul 2021 11:39 AM PDT

    Buff Bleak Bungie.

These things should be called Cryotherapy because in there current state these things are just putting Icy/Hot on our enemies!!! They do barely any damage! Can't kill jack squat. Compare them to titan's Ice Lance which, 9 out of 10 times, can one shot a shank. Can bleak watchers one shot a shank!?! NO!!!

So what if they slow and freeze enemies (and even some champs). Bleak Watcher shots should be explosive rounds and have intrinsic anti-champ abilities. Instead, I have to watch it's pitiful attempts to damage and be of any relevance for around 30 secs, literally letting the enemy chill out for a bit...and it's that long THANKS TO A FRAGMENT I HAD TO UNLOCK!!!

#BuffBleakBungie and put kill clip on a bow

    /s

Edit: Forget explosive rounds. Make it shoot Telesto bolts. The Devs will thank me later.

Today's hotfix reset the weekly loot lockout in master Vault of Glass, meaning you can get loot again even if you had already cleared it this week

    Posted: 29 Jul 2021 01:56 PM PDT

Just tried and can confirm that the timelost Praedyth's is dropping again on my 4th master challenge clear of the week. Along with that, the other encounters are dropping loot again even though I had already cleared the raid before the hotfix on that character.

[2021] - Super Damage Numbers & Their Exotics. The Ultimate Guide (Resumed)

    Posted: 29 Jul 2021 01:21 PM PDT

In this post I'll show to you guys the damage that the Supers do in this game. Its also surprising to me that this kind of subject is underlooked in a game such as Destiny, or that it is inaccurate.

Edit: The format of the text went wrong so Im just fixing some stuff (use of italic and columns)

Edit 2: Yeah I should have been specific, I'm showing mostly the top-tier fav damage supers, roaming supers and other ''bit specific'' will be updated later (like Synthoceps Burning Maul or Orpheus Bottom Tether).

    So, here's the common questions:

    1. Why is Nova Bomb so useless?!
R: It isnt, you'll see. Highest non-Exotic Super damage in the game, specially burst. See below
    2. Thundercrash (Cuirass) is so OP!
R: It isnt, same damage as Chaos Reach (Geomags) w/ Drawbacks that will be discussed
    3. No Kali and no Sheets? Downvote!
R: Kali will be discussed and Sheets are not needed because this is very overall and resumed text, specially when numbers are affected by Light Levels, Content (Free-Roam, Instance) and Activity (Raid, Strikes).
    4. DPS is everything! Damage isnt! DOWNVOTING!
R: This is a good one because outside of 1-phasing raid encounters, raw-damage is very welcome in long GM boss fights. DPS calculations always use the best outcome possible, which isnt the best way to measure effectiveness. A bit of DPS loss is nothing compared to consistency, nothing needs to be deleted, unless you have Crown-Splitter.
    • The bosses that were used in this test to get the overall consensus were Carl, Lake of Shadows Boss, Morgeth, Atraks-1 and Override Bosses.
    • VoG Bosses take increased damage from abilities and Kali will be discusses later, alongside Golden Gun which is a Wild Card.

    THE OVERALL NUMBER

    If you dont want to see how things were done yadda yadda and want the answer right away. Here's the TL;DR. Numbers will vary depending on the Activity/Content (Free-Roam or Strikes or Raid) so I went with the over-all goal;

    1. 300k is the damage of Thundercrash (Cuirass), Chaos Reach (Geomags) and GG (Celestial)
    2. GG (Star-Eaters) can do 500k if you can get the 8x Orbs + Knock'Em-Down. Altho a bit unlikely to happen every boss fight.
    3. Nova Bomb is 200k. The highest raw super damage in the game, Slovva (Top-Tree) will deal around 5k more than Bottom-Tree btw, very small margin. Raw Nova Bomb can outdamage GG (Celestial) depending on the content/acivity done.
    4. Down Chorus is basically 250k Damage, however if a second Warlock uses it they both will get past 350k easily, add a third and it'll skyrocket (didnt do the math for a third bc well I got lazy).
    5. On bosses that have Low Crit Buff, GG (Celestial) will deal a very sad 175k damage. This happens because enemy types have a different multiplier, whether its 1.2, 1.5 or even 2x (Kali, for example) it depends on the content and there's also the Ability Damage Taken, if it's not that high well... You better off dropping Celestial then. This could be looked by Bungie because it makes Celestial deal less damage then Nova Bomb.

    THE DOWNSIDES OF EACH SUPER

People seem to forget that damage just doesnt pop and will take this to get salty over Thundercrash (Cuirass) or because their Nova Bomb isnt doing 999.9k damage. So here's the Pro/Cons.

    • THUNDERCRASH: Subclass is Ass, lets be objective. One of the fewy saving graces being a 20% damage buff + reload while sliding on Ammo Bricks, and thats about it. The Grenades for PvE are very okay-ish (I do wish Flashbangs acted more like GL's Blinding Grenades), but other than the Super, there's really no big advantage to use this subclass. The Super will also take up to 5s to reach the target and then reposition, something people often forget (Travel time + getting back to a safe position) "B-But the Overshield*!", well, The Architects* would like to have a word with ya on that matter. The Overshield is great, but stomp mechanics exist, add the weird physics some bosses can throw at ya and its use is really for the Titan to bail out there as fast as he can.
    • GOLDEN GUN: This is a bit self-explanatory as I stated the problems Golden Gun has: Different Headshot damage taken by enemies will dictate if you'll do 300k or 175k (Celestial), on top having a chance of being missed (just aim for the head, bro). However Star-Eater is a thing and altho you have to worry about not missing for 3 consecutive times, each successful headshot creates 2x Large Orb of Power for your allies, with 6 being the total. This is incredibly good. If you want to outdamage Celestial with Star-Eaters, 5x Orbs will do that. The Subclass is also pretty good, sadly Hunter Grenades are very meh for PvE, but a built-in way to get your Super for just landing crits and a damage buff for headshot final blows is very welcome.
    • NOVA BOMB: Oh boy do I love to talk about Nova Bomb. Firstly it has some of the BEST grenades in this game, Vortex can be spammed with the aid of an exotic and it does such a nice damage. You can have you grenade back if your charged melee gets a final blow too and of course: The Super is the highest most consistent damage super in the game without exotics. (I added the consistent part bc of how GG is a Wild Card). The bottom subclass is also great, basically one of the best Neutral-Game playstyles, Devour is AMAZING and the Super damage is decent, but Top is still Top for me.So contrary to popular belief, no, Nova Bomb isnt useless. The Subclass has an amazing Kit by itself. 90k less damage than the big 300k daddies so what? They need an Exotic to do that, you dont.
    • CHAOS REACH: This is a fun one because someone brings up "Thundercrash Burst! DPS! BETTER*!*". Chaos Reach can literally be used within a distance, takes 7.2s to completely cast it (w/ Geomags) and its the fastest Super to get in any content. Ionic Traces give Super energy and you dont even need to assist the kills to get it and when the super is around 80%, sprinting will give you full Super energy in seconds w/ Geomags. Thundercrash having to travel and reposition vs a 7s Kamehameha that deals the same damage. The subclass is also decent, Grenades could be better but you know. The only problem is when it comes to really bursty fights, let us say Atraks-1, but thats about it. GM Bosses, LS Bosses. Its a big damage, at safe location and fast to get w/ a decent subclass. What more can you ask?

Think that is about it, if any of you see blueberries using roaming supers to do damage, they'll contribute with a total of 40k dps but thats about it.

GG (Star-Eater, Bottom-Tree) Thundercrash (Cuirass) Chaos Reach (Geomags) Dawn Chorus (Bottom-Tree Daybreak) Golden Gun (Bottom-Tree) Nova Bomb (No-Exotic)
    500k 310k 300k 250k 300k (Or 175k) 210k

Remember when acquiring a bright engram meant more than getting a legendary ghostshell/ sparrow/ ship to dismantle?

    Rewind Rounds and Divinity

    Posted: 29 Jul 2021 08:49 AM PDT

Bungie, can we please update rewind rounds to work when shooting a Divinity bubble? This would make Praedyth's Revenge a significantly more useful weapon as well as the others. I know its not a huge issue but if we are wanting build diversity and different play styles this would certainly help.

Can I just say Nevota's HP pool is just ridiculous? Becuase it it.

    Posted: 29 Jul 2021 12:28 AM PDT

We're talking thundercrash with breach and clear not being enough damage to trigger an immune phase. We're talking 7 deathbringer shots not being enough for 1 immune phase. On top of this, she dodges and weaves faster than a gaurdian with a 2 kd in crucible playing the QP championships. I understand she's a boss of a GM nightfall, but sheesh she's fucking tank. Like, I'm fairly certain she could square up with Master Atheon and kick his ass.

Edit: For those of you who dislike how squishy strike bosses are (with the exception of Nevota), this is called power creep. Nevota is new, and was launched to match our current power. Protheon, for example, was not. Problem is, they overcompensated.

Kinetic legendary fusion rifles would be a great addition to the game.

    Posted: 29 Jul 2021 10:27 AM PDT

It doesn't really make sense to not have more kinetic fusion rifles, it could really add variety to the special weapons in the kinetic slot. It would also increase fusion rifle usage in PvE where an energy primary weapon is much more useful than an energy special weapon. Maybe it doesn't make a lot of sense, thematically, but I think it would be a great addition. Alternatively, if Stasis (and presumably all other darkness damage types) stay in the kinetic slot as Cryosthesia 77k does, then legendary Stasis fusion rifles would accomplish the same goal.

Easy browser based gear selection tool for stat distributions.

    Posted: 29 Jul 2021 02:28 AM PDT

Clickbait version of the title: Easy way to get quad 100s!

    Hello Destiny Community!

I just wanted to share my little armor picker with you. It allows you to simply log in and select the stats you want, and it tells you which items - and which stat mods! - you should use to achieve them! I developed it mainly for myself and made it first available to the D2Sanctuary community. Now I want to share it with you too!

    URL: https://mijago.github.io/D2ArmorPicker/#/

Album showing the web app in its current form: https://imgur.com/a/aLZ9eAt

    Features:

    • Horribly simple webdesign. Material Design, but I kept it very simple (function over form, but i'll improve it soon).
    • Select the stats you want on your gear. The tool will then list all* armor sets that fullfill your desired stats. It also tells you which mods you have to use to achieve them! (*the top 100)
    • While you select your stats, it shows you which stat combinations are even possible for your current selection!
    • You can select the mods you want to use (Powerful Friends, Radiant Light, Stasis)
    • You can limit the amount of stat mods you want to use. This is useful for PvP builds in case you want to use double sniper targeting on your helmet.
    • You can lock an exotic - the tool will now only show results with this specific exotic. It takes every instance of your exotic into account.
    • You can also choose to only use already masterworked items. I needed that feature because I wasted over 30 shards in one week.. Uhhh..
    • Client-Side only - no server, no data collection, nothing. And open source (but please dont judge me for the code).

So, what is different to the DIM optimizer?

The simplicity. I wanted to keep it simple and interactive. Just pick the stats you want, and it tells you what stats are even possible to combine with it. It then tells you what mods you have to use. Leave your brain at the door!

    Upcoming:

    • Equip Items, or at least move them into your inventory.
    • Elemental Affinity-Filter.
    • Better design. Especially mobile devices don't have a nice loadout *yet*.
    • Stat icons in the overview table.
    • Improved login. At this moment you get logged out after one hour and then you have to reload the page.. I know this and I'll fix it once I have time.

    Known Issue(s):

    • It may happen that it collects the items from old XBox/PSN accounts and not your linked Steam account, if you did not enable cross save. No ETA on a fix yet. But it won't be forgotten! FIXED
    • If you have armor that has mods with negative stat modifiers (like Protective Light) that go below 0, it will always assume at least an 8 base in this stat. This is due to mathematical reasons and I do not yet have a fix for it.
    • There is a memory issue for people with more than ~1.5m permutations. Well, I will investigate this. In the meantime, try a different browser.
    • Some people seem not to be able to log in. I'll investigate it, but as I am busy right now (7pm CEST), i can probably only start investigating it in a few hours. If you have such an issue, try to restart your browser and to hard-reload the page!
    • Some guardians seem to see a crash when they select their main character. Please send me a pastebin of the logs with "Preserve Logs" enabled so I can debug this!

If you find bugs, please write me a ticket in the Github repository. For feature requests, you can also open a ticket or write a comment to this post. But note, as I want to keep the tool as simple as possible, i will probably not add a lot more complex functionality.

Edit: Thank you all, kind strangers, for the Awards! Especially for my first ever Gold Award! ❤

Rapid-Fire Scouts need a reserve buff

    Posted: 29 Jul 2021 07:49 PM PDT

As much as I love Symmetry and Trustee (which are the only rapid-fires that aren't sunset), I think that rapid-fires seriously need a buff to their reserves. I did some reserve testing on the Moon, and I found that rapid-fires have the same amount as lightweights if not less (high-impacts had the most reserves).

The flavor text for rapid-fires state that they are fully automatic, reload faster if the magazine is is empty, and have deeper ammunition reserves. While the former two points are true, rapid-fires have the lowest general reserve stat out of all the other archetypes.

I often find myself starving for ammo or completely out whenever I do most endgame content. I know that scouts and hand cannons are getting a damage buff, but could we see just a little love to rapid-fire frames?

    Don't waste ammo on navota.

    Posted: 29 Jul 2021 08:21 AM PDT

Break the boss shield and she enters a small stun phase, this is great for landing rockets, anarchy/witherhoard , honed edge shots etc. Also you can have one person take aggro and hide and while she tries to laser that team mate she won't dodge your shots, esp there is no line of sight. You want get those shots in the moment she starts shooting and then grab cover.

Make wells (well of light mods) track to the creator like ether does

    Posted: 29 Jul 2021 09:46 AM PDT

Maybe a well mod that makes you attract them temporarily, as they are now they are fun but not super viable in endgame content because you have to put yourself in danger to pick them up.
