Whilst Focused Feedback is active, ALL posts regarding 'Expunge Missions' following its posting will be removed and re-directed to this thread. Exceptions to this rule are as follows: New information / developments, Guides and general questions

Any and all Feedback on the topic is welcome.

Regular Sub rules apply so please try to keep the conversation on the topic of the thread and keep it civil between contrasting ideas

A Wiki page - Focused Feedback - has also been created for the Sub as an archive for these topics going forward so they can be looked at by whoever may be interested or just a way to look through previous hot topics of the sub as time goes on.

To the Bungie employee that added mantling into the game

    Posted: 05 Jul 2021 01:07 PM PDT

I hope you get a promotion. I can't even keep count of how many times mantling has saved me from failed jumps for the last 3-4 years. Thank you.

You know, it’s quite ironic that we’re asking Bungie to make story missions into strikes.

    Posted: 05 Jul 2021 08:15 AM PDT

For those of you that either don't remember or weren't there during year one, Bungie actually did this. They turned the story missions into strikes but if my memory serves me right, we all collectively called them lazy for doing it. Just an observation, that's all.

I've simulated all 352,275,361 possible armor rolls and analyzed all of them, here's the results!

    Posted: 05 Jul 2021 07:58 AM PDT

First, if there are any Bungie employees reading this, I have a question: Could anyone disclose the rules for how armor from activities like raids and dungeons or biased rolls from umbrals are rolled? Just knowing what influencing factors and rules are for armor from the various sources would be a game changer.

    The Results

    Notes:

    1. You may want to look at the results on a computer for the smoothest experience.
    2. This data shows how armor is rolled in a randomized void with no outside influencing factors. Most armor in D2 has some form of bias when rolled based on the source and many other factors. Essentially, this data shows what armor exists and the data can be used to rank individual armor pieces.
    3. This is all the possible base rolls. Certain exotics have intrinsic bonuses that can allow exotics to have values that contradict the results.

Check out my Vault Analyzer for automated armor analysis and vault cleaning in Destiny Item Manager.

Huge thanks to Zeta for his assistance in this project. Without his help, this project would have taken a few months rather than a few weeks.

Now that all of the dreaming city and moon weapons are returning, can we get a way to farm each dreaming city weapon individually?

    Posted: 05 Jul 2021 06:07 AM PDT

Title. Other than premonition, which is a dungeon exclusive, every single moon weapon is easily farmable, yet it is really damn hard to farm dc stuff. (Speaking from memory) I'm fairly certain you can only get a certain amount of drops per week per character, making this even more difficult. Once again I ask for nothing more than a way to farm dreaming city stuff

Taking a break from destiny 2 and playing other games made me realize how demanding and exhausting it is to play destiny 2.

    Posted: 05 Jul 2021 03:51 PM PDT

    Warning this is a rant.

So a couple weeks after VOG came out I decided to take a little break because I already had mythoclast from my second run along with most of the weapons rolls from the seasonal weapons that I wanted. Over my break I played some overwatch, yakuza 0, dead cells, hollow knight, and bug fables, halo master chief collection. So I came back when I heard about that master VOG was coming out next weekly reset, so I hopped on destiny 2 to see where I stand in relation to the new difficulty. I see that all my characters are only around 1322 and that really sucked because the master raid is going to be 1350 so probably not going to play it this week or next until I get my power up. Then I said ok I guess I'll just chill and play some nightfalls to get a couple pinicals, which also sucked setting up because I needed to change my load out and infuse stuff along with changing out most of my mods. After all that I just didn't really feel like playing anymore because how tedious getting my load out ready was, this is when I came to terms that to me destiny felt more like a chore to keep up with or else you'll fall behind.

The point of all this is that I think destiny can do better when it comes to these tedious and boring tasks to keep players engaged. One thing that I feel like could really help is preset loadouts that you could switch between armor and weapons to reduce the about of time it takes to switch between what activities you want to do. Another thing that I hate and is the reason my dilemma started in the first place is the power grid, its better that it was before but now with master VOG coming out at 1350 that break I decided to take really stings and I don't get how anyone is able to keep up the grind unless its their job. I hope one day destiny will end up feeling less like a job and more like the game it was meant to be.

P.S: The story missions having to be played on all 3 characters makes playing the story a little repetitive at times.

How Kinetic Fusion Rifles could work.

    Posted: 05 Jul 2021 05:23 PM PDT

i want legendary kinetic fusion rifles, so that i can use my elemental primaries and or trace rifles with them, which is a large limitation on the weapon type as a whole when compared to other special weapons. however within destiny almost everything has a reason why it works unless its an exotic, or the leviathan raid scout rifle. its a cool bit of world building bungie does.

TLDR for the How the weapon would work at the Bottom.

    Important edit at the bottom

with that being said, a kinetic fusion rifle Wouldn't be able to work in the same manner as there energy counter parts. much in the same way as an Omolon Auto rifle and an Hakkë Auto rifle Don't. so giving this some thought and research i believe i have an idea for how the kinetic Fusions could work

with that being said, the way i see a kinetic fusion rifle working is using tech we actually have IRL today. Magnetically accelerated weapon platforms, AKA rail guns,

the way i in vision this working is using some form of magnetic field generator/s, to sequentially accelerate/launch, a small number 7 of kinetic projectiles at Extreme speeds.

these magnetic field generators would be required to charge up in order for the projectiles to reach there hitscan speeds, as well as make up for the lack of/short barrel of the weapon greatly reducing the length of time the projectiles would be under the effects of the accelerators/magnetic field.

How this sudden development/introduction of brand new tech might be explained

I also have an explanation for why it has taken almost 7 years for this technology to be invented/used for a wide spread weapons platform. this is the Eliksni, or more specfic the house of light and there Eliksni weapon smiths as a peace offering showing the Gun Smiths of the Tower/Last City, new/better Battery and accelerator Technology that would allow for the weapon to actually function consonantly and reliably in all conditions,

or just simply it could be that the gun/weapon smiths through tinkering for new and better weapons to out compete/sell there competitors came up with this new idea.

is it a bit hand wavy yes, but i think it makes since the Eliksni have better battery tech then us with how there weapons and ETC work

the only fusion rifle frame i cant see working with this concept is the Aggressive Frame launched in Beyond Light.

Please leave any thoughts and suggestions on how to improve this idea in the comments

EDIT : because i forgot to add this, they would function within the game identical to legendary energy fusions but with the kinetic damage type. but lore wise the way the work internally would be different. the outcome the same

EDIT 2 : Another cool idea i have seen is instead of kinetic damage, we get darkness damage fusions, since CRYOSTHESIA 77K, sits in the kinetic slot, so to could other darkness damage types,

TLDR : Using Magnetic field generators these weapon sequentially accelerate and then launch 7 kinetic projectiles, in the exact same manner as a elemental fusion rifle. but with kinetic damage

Rumour or not, Crotas end would be a superb dungeon for the Witch Queen.

    Posted: 05 Jul 2021 02:13 AM PDT

From scratch it is easily easily 3 man able. There could obviously be some basic changes. The only problem that I could see is the dungeon not having much lore about it linked to the season, but who knows.

Edit** for everyone wanting brand new stuff, I am 100000% on board. But the main point of the post was meaning if it was to come back, the dungeon is the best way. And I honestly think there with be a Witch queen exclusive raid and dungeon, then with Kings fall and crota as legacy raid and crota switched to a legacy dungeon

Why not have a set rotation of 2x Valor - > 2x Infamy -> Nightfall rewards?

    Posted: 05 Jul 2021 11:19 AM PDT

    title
But seriously? It'd be a great incentive to play the weekly focus, and if you don't like the current activity you'd know when to sit back and wait for your fav to come around. It's not like valor/infamy actually matter, and it'd make the upgrade resources far less tedious to obtain

Edit: yeah obviously it can't just be on a 3 week cycle bc of NF weapons, I meant at least a consistent schedule for the bonus rewards.

    Our Fireteam Tattoos

    Posted: 05 Jul 2021 08:14 AM PDT

Recently, our Fireteam met up for one of our annual 'Nightfall' weekends, where we travel to one of our members' cities and eat loads of good food, drink lots of beer, and, of course, play games together.

Our hunter is soon to be moving on to new ventures in life, and although he might still be able to log in from time to time, it might not quite be the same as it has been, so we decided to mark the occasion. I'm sure there are many other Fireteams that have done the same, but we're all in love with our different designs and placement, so wanted to share.

The clan roster is still broken after almost two years. Is it ever getting fixed?

    Posted: 05 Jul 2021 12:49 PM PDT

If you're not aware, the in-game clan roster has been broken since Shadowkeep. What is happening is that the roster only displays people you are friends with on steam, everyone else is grayed out and simply says "offline" or "online". You cannot inspect or invite anyone not on your friends list.

This is a huge issue especially for bigger clans where you cannot realistically add every single player to your friends list.

Cozmo said over a year ago that they are working on a fix but we haven't heard much since as far as I'm aware. Any news on the process of fixing this bug?

A list of Dreaming City drop sources to help farm the weapons that are coming back

    Posted: 05 Jul 2021 11:55 AM PDT

I posted this when somebody was asking about getting the class item for a triumph a few weeks ago on r/raidsecrets and figured that with the weapons all coming back, there are probably some people who could get some use out of this. If I've missed any drops please let me know and I'll add them to the OP.

    • Weekly story missions from Petra (I think these give 2 rewards, one from the activity and one from the "quest" portion).

    • Weekly "do 8 daily bounties" missions from Petra.

    • Daily Challenge bounties from Petra. The Toland one currently doesn't work, but maybe they'll fix it now that more weapons are coming back...

    • A weekly Ascendant Challenge bounty from Petra.

    • A weekly Ascendant Challenge completion reward that's separate from the Petra bounty.

    • A weekly reward from completing Blind Well (I think on Heroic difficulty).

    • A weekly Blind Well bounty from Petra that gives an Oracle Offering, which when given to the Oracle thing gives a Dreaming City item.

    • A weekly Purification Ritual bounty obtained from using the Oracle Offering. These also give Transcendent Blessing mods, which are nice to have. DO NOT use them on the new Reverie Dawn armor that you intend to use for the Dungeon though, because they'll replace the Curse mod that you need as part of the Triumph. However, if you're using old-ish armor that still has the Curse mod, it's possible that you can use them both together. The Curse mod used to be in the last slot and have since been moved to the first, but old copies still have the mod in the last slot. If you have a piece of armor like this you can place the Transcendent Blessing mod in the first slot without interfering with the Curse mod in the final slot.

    • Three (maybe 4?) encounter rewards from Shattered Throne. In addition, while many hidden chests do NOT give Dreaming City/Dungeon rewards, there are two chests that DO give DC/Dungeon rewards.

    • A "secret" boss that can be spawned in Rheasilvia. Not sure what the interval is, sometimes 45 minutes, sometimes back to back or just a few minutes in between. Kind of tedious and unreliable, but if you're desperate for drops it looks like you can get 1 per day per character. Edit: there DOES seem to be a lockout on these drops. I was able to complete two back to back just now somehow, but only the first dropped DC gear. It's possible it's just a daily lockout, but I can't really test this since weekly reset is tomorrow anyway. Edit 2: Those back-to-back kills were on my Hunter, and unless I missed them I only got one drop. However, I just killed him for the second time this week on my Warlock and DID get a drop. So it's possible that this is either daily lockout or just not a guaranteed drop, although of the 10 or so times I've killed him, the second of those back-to-back kills is the only time I haven't gotten a DC drop. EDIT 3: My luck with spawns is absolutely insane today. Literally the instant I saved Edit 2, I turned back to my TV and another Saboteur spawned in next to me. Killed Pauurc again on WL and didn't get a drop, so it's looking like a daily lockout. One drop a day isn't back, but not the unlimited source I'd hoped for.

    • If you have Wish Ender, breaking the 40 corrupted eggs will give one drop per egg, for 40 drops. Can only be done once, but it's easy to just plink an egg with the bow for a drop.

    • There are 9 hidden cat statues on the Dreaming City. Each one can be given a Small Gift of Mint one time, and will give the player a Dreaming City drop in return. I believe Gifts of Mint come from just doing stuff like patrols, lost sectors, events, Blind Well, etc. on the Dreaming City. Thanks to u/OwerlordTheLord for this one.

That's all I can remember. There might be some more random ones here and there, but I think I got most of them.

What it's like taking a shotgun into a Grandmaster Nightfall. Solo.

    Posted: 05 Jul 2021 05:35 PM PDT

Insight Terminus Grandmaster Solo Platinum Hunter

I posted a video a couple weeks ago for a Master Nightfall, this time I decided to do a GM solo to give people ideas on different playstyles besides long range weapons in Grandmaster Nightfalls.

    Exotic Armor: Omnioculus

Weapons: CQC Shotgun, Chroma Rush, Deathbringer. Deathbringer excels in this GM due to the layout and enemies only having void shields.

Combat mods: All Warmind Cell mods. I have some Well/Font builds I'd like to run, but Font of Might and Well of Tenacity are very weak.

Never had more fun in this game

    Posted: 05 Jul 2021 03:06 PM PDT

I'm a returning player from season of opulence. Have completed a few raids (leviathan, last wish,SoTP and EoW), but tonight was the day I chose to attempt VoG for the first time. I used the looking for group app to find a fresh raid and based on my previous uses of the app I was expecting the worst. But when I got in the team they were all super chill and talkative guys (bar one who had no mic), who didn't even comment on my slightly low light level. We cleared the entry and first two encounters with a bit of resistance but nothing too bad. However when we got to the Templar fight two of our team members who were in the US army started saying how they would have to go to formation in a little while. So we start attempting the fight a few times and found it pretty hard to balance between all the mechanics and adds at the same time. It gets to the point where I was starting to give up hope as the army guys really had to go. We manage to persuade them to play one more attempt despite making them late for formation and in our first dos phase we did insanely well compared to other attempts and took 80% of the templars health. When we came to our next one, me and two other teammates were dead and another stuck in a bubble. The two remaining guys somehow managed to get the last bit of DPS just before the Templar teleported and complete the encounter. Our raid members were literally cheering down there mics and I had a smile on my face for the next 5 minutes straight. Added all the members as friends and we all agreed to finish the raid with each other at a later time. Just made me so happy to complete a raid with such a fun group when I'm so used to lfg to be full of toxicity. Also got some pretty good gear(I assumed that only the final boss drop was pinnacle but I was wrong) and loved the raid.

Sorry if that was way too long, just wanted to share.

Can we please get over with elemental affinity mods and get rid of them entirely. If not let us change the element affinity on masterwork Armor with small cost of glimmer or legendary shards.

    Posted: 05 Jul 2021 09:15 PM PDT

It's so frustrating. First i need to hunt for God roll armors for different builds e.g intellect/discipline. Then different build require different mods. For that i need different elemental Armor for different builds. Now that we have sooo many weapons and exotic Armor being random rolled made it much worse. Can we please get this QoL change sooner than later.
