This week at Bungie, we march on.

It's already late July. Can you believe it? Seems like 2020 lasted about 5 years but 2021 seems to be moving along at a better rate. Who says time is a constant?

Anyway, Solstice of Heroes is going strong. Have you upgraded your armor yet? Next week is the final week of the event so go check out the EAZ and earn that armor before the event ends on 8/3. We had a lot to go over last week with a preview of ritual reputation changes coming next Season. It's a little lighter this week but we do have some important info about the new Bungie Store and some changes to Armor Synthesis. Let's get to it.

    Unraveling the Synthstrands

Since the launch of Season of the Splicer we have been monitoring reception and behavior around our new Armor Synthesis system. Today we'd like to review a minor update around the system's currencies.

Effective at the start of Season 15 we will deprecate the passively-earned world currency, Synthstrand, that was used to purchase Armor Synthesis bounties from Ada-1. In its place, these bounties will be purchasable for 10,000 Glimmer instead.

Our hope is that this change reduces the time needed to earn your 10 Synthweave tokens per class each Season.

Removing this currency also frees up a slot in the Consumables inventory bucket — a bucket that could be full for those of you carrying around a large quantity of items. Finally, we hope this change reduces the complexity of the Armor Synthesis system, with only one remaining currency for each class that can be immediately turned in at Ada-1's Loom for a Synthweave token.

We'll continue to monitor the conversation and use of Armor Synthesis as Season 15 rolls out. In the meantime, keep showing us your new looks! The team is inspired and delighted by the incredible creativity they've seen from Guardians around the world so far. We can't wait to see more!

    Store Renovations

The Bungie Store team has been hard at work behind the scenes making the Bungie Store a better place to shop, especially for Bungie Rewards. Existing Bungie Store customers can now reset their password and migrate their Bungie Store account to the new site. From there they can link their Bungie Store account to their Bungie.net account to view and purchase Bungie Rewards without a code. If you reset your password before July 31, 2021 11:59 PM PT, you'll get a free exclusive in-game emblem, New Blue sent via email by August 6.

Go check out the new and improved Bungiestore.com, see what Bungie Rewards you've unlocked, and treat yourself to some new merch. You deserve it.

    Double Your Fun

Next week, Nightfalls will feature double rewards. We will also have a mixed bag of rewards as Palindrome, THE SWARM, and Shadow Price will all be dropping. So everything is on the menu, and with double rewards it's a fantastic opportunity to pick up more rolls of add them to your collection for the first time.

Speaking of Nightfall rewards starting in Season 15, the Nightfall weapon rotation will be changing. Instead of six weapons in a 1/1/1/3 rotation as we had in the second half of Season 14, we'll have eight weapons, in pairs consisting of one newer and one older weapon. You might remember the new weapons being reprised from Destiny 1 as a hilarious Shotgun and a Rocket Launcher that was the ultimate reward for doing the longest Crucible quest. Each week, one of these new additions will be featured along with another weapon already in the pool.

    For example:

    • The Comedian / Shadow Price
    • The Hothead / Hung Jury

The additions this Season have the spicy perk combinations typical of Nightfall loot, including a couple of perks not seen on these archetypes in the past.

    Tooling

You ever wonder what it's like to create the thing that allows the creators to create? We updated the Bungie Tech Blog yesterday with a new article covering what it's like to be a Tools Engineer at Bungie.

If you are a new engineer, still in school, or just really interested in getting into game development and still considering which area you want to pursue, this is a great read on what it's like to make development tools at Bungie.

Let us complete old season passes if we bought them

    Posted: 22 Jul 2021 08:57 AM PDT

NOTE: I'm not saying we should be able to buy again past year's season passes, i'm saying that if we bought them and haven't completed them, we should be granted the ability to do so.

The data is still in the game, you can even download an older version of the apk to redeem past unlocks you forgot to claim (precise with the amount of xp you had back then), yet it's not possibile for those who paid them back in the days to get their hands on those things.

Same goes for the deluxe edition of BL, you get access to all previous seasons content except the rewards from season pass.

Just let us switch to a different seasonal track after we reach level 100, instead of handing a useless bright engram every once in a while.

EDIT: i wasn't expecting this to get this many upvotes, so to all who think it's a matter of time and "you need to be there" no it isn't. It's a matter of money. Think about Beyond Light deluxe edition (70$ regardless of when you buy it): if you buy it this or next season you are going to miss out on A LOT of things tied to the past seasonal tracks like ornaments, finishers, shaders, WEAPONS (chosen LFR is tied to the seasonal track, and not even the premium one) exotics and their catalysts. This, on top of everything else that could go on with the life of somebody who plays and has to stop for a long period of time, is why there should be a way to get old seasonal tracks after hitting the cap.

I'll go as far to say that this option would have to be dropped like in the last month (or so) of a season, where everything else it had to offer is now well consumed. Incentivizing new and returning player to stick to your GaS is never a bad idea, and after reading most of the comments (while i was sleeping 250+ more comments popped up, can't read them all sorry) is clear that the FOMO kills the game to some people. Expiration dates, where sunsetting is the prime exemple, should not be in a video game that costs the same wether you buy it day one or the last week of the last season.

I helped my deaf, one handed friend through her first raid (lash wish) today. Felt freaking great to finish.

    Posted: 22 Jul 2021 10:12 AM PDT

Took us 2 hours, which isn't bad for a first timer. Took a while to get the rhythm down for her, but once she was rolling she was doing great. Honestly the ogre and heart were the worst parts, but we got er done.

She even got 1k voices from her first clear. Lel. Fml.

TL;DR: Deaf one handed guardian bullies riven.

Edit: whoever gave me the "helping hand" reward, you're hilarious.

Edit 2: 11 helping hands. That is exactly how many hands were in the raid... edit 2.5 nvm. Now it's 12.

Bungie, No One Wants to Do Master VoG Because There Is No Incentive to Do It

    Posted: 22 Jul 2021 04:27 AM PDT

You've shot yourselves in the foot with your implementation of Master raids. The Adept weapons (Timelost) are great, and I'm glad that you are guaranteed one from doing the challenge, but that is the only thing you have gotten right. That is why many groups are just doing the Conflux challenge this week and then not bothering with the rest of the raid.

There needs to be 2 main changes.

    1) Make it so that Timelost weapons can drop from ANY encounter, not just the challenge mode. Keep the guaranteed drop for challenge mode, and then, for the other encounters, give them a chance to drop any Timelost weapon that you have earned from other challenges. So for example, if you have done all 3 challenges since Master VoG came out, you could get Vision, Hezen, or Corrective as a chance to drop from any encounter (minus the secret chests).

    2) Get rid of the Normal vs Master raid lockout. Who thought this was a good idea? In D1, if you did the hard mode of the raid, you got DOUBLE LOOT because you got the normal mode loot as well. Why do you want to be so stingy with the loot? Currently, if you don't want the Timelost weapons, there is no reason to do Master because you get locked out from those rewards if you do the Normal mode.

Make it so Master VoG drops both Normal AND Master loot like it did in D1. Reward us for doing the hardest PvE content in the game.

As it stands right now, I have almost zero incentive to do Master other than to do the challenge modes to get my Fatebreaker title. The second I get that? I'm not touching Master again. That's not a good thing for your game.

    Spotting a New Guardian...

    Posted: 22 Jul 2021 05:44 AM PDT

As a veteran of many years in the Destiny world you can always spot a new guardian.
You will see them walk, stop, look around, find some spin metal, go into the menu, come out the menu, walk around a bit more, spot some enemies and head straight for them. You watch from afar as the '?' appears above their name. Knowing they are in trouble you ping a few shots over and kill the enemies troubling them. They have no idea where the enemies went or that you were even there.

Then they find you. They stop and stare. They see a guardian of a higher level adorned in splendid armour and weaponry. They proceed to follow the veteran guardian around like a lost puppy. Still stopping and looking at everything as the veteran waits patiently like a guardian (no pun) angel.

The new player then joins the veterans team. Initially the veteran found this as a bit of a shock. But as it was the end of the day they took them under their wing. We strolled around Mothyards with the new guardian keenly charging into groups of dregs and vandals with their basic weaponry. But they looked happy.

We lead them through to Skywatch...where the enemies were battling. Oh the poor poor little guardian who decided to run headfirst into an Ogre. We picked them back up, dusted them off and waged war on the Hive and Fallen. For half an hour we were there and the new guardian looked like they were having a whale of a time! Throwing Nova bombs around with glee. We wanted to move on and emoting and gesturing lead to nothing...so we shot at them before they noticed we were moving onto the Array.

We all went through the Array, our new friend got too excited and jumped off the map. But we soldiered onto Forgotten Shore.

As we arrived a Public Event started. Both the veterans leapt on our Sparrows and zoomed to get the flag. We turned around to see the new guardian looking at a bush way back from where we came. They eventually spotted us and hurried (as fast as they could walk) to our position as the Public Event started. Many, many little guardian deaths ensued. But we made it Heroic and got them through the completion. The loot chest appeared and we all gathered around. As it faded we bid farewell to the new guardian.

One day we hope to slay gods with you ;)

What's Something In Destiny that is Insignificant but Makes you Chuckle Everytime?

    Posted: 22 Jul 2021 01:23 PM PDT

For me it has to be the wild variations of exotic catalysts. Like Heir Apparent is basically "what of I die?" "That's the fun part, you don't" while Suros Regime is "there's only a slightly better chance you get health after a kill"

Can we make the adept drops guarenteed.

    Posted: 22 Jul 2021 03:23 PM PDT

According to TWAB next season in a week you will get 2 weapons in loot pool. Like for example GM will drop either Hung jury or Hothead. Now finding a good roll is hard enough with just one gun. there is times where you do a 45 min Glassway GM and get no adept for it.

it will feel pretty bad if your chances of getting a roll you want goes even lower.

If we make at least one drop per gm guaranteed it would help us feel like it's possible to get that god roll we want.

    [link] [comments]

Assuming we get 2 different adept drops for nightfalls in the future these weapons should be a guaranteed drop or else we'll have RNG on top of RNG on top of RNG.

    Posted: 22 Jul 2021 06:53 PM PDT

Or maybe it drops an engram you can focus at Zavala or something, that way you get the weapon you want without 2 extra layers of RNG getting in the way.

Uh, so Bungie... can we have higher camera speed options for controllers now?

    Posted: 22 Jul 2021 01:33 PM PDT

"I want to be able to spin so fast that I can kill a hunter before they jump over my head with a shotgun at the ready."

10 really just isn't fast enough anymore.

While I'm glad traction; which improves the turn speed, has no cost, it still takes up a mod slot and it still doesn't feel fast enough to me.

It would probably be better off internally implemented into the controller movement. That or becoming a system setting.

Games like COD and Titanfall allow you to crank that sensitivity up reeeeal high, and Destiny's camera feels quite slow in comparison.

Next year, can you sell seasons individually no matter the time of year?

    Posted: 22 Jul 2021 08:10 AM PDT

I've recently seen a lot of posts from players who returned for VoG and then decided they wanted a previous season. It stinks to tell them in order to get any content from a previous season they have to spend 40 dollars. I have to imagine they could have made more money in offering each season individually no matter time of year, though I could be wrong.

Bungie, Maybe Change the Catalyst of Skyburner's Oath

    Posted: 22 Jul 2021 11:28 AM PDT

We have seen that the bonuses that catalysts give can be changed as shown with Mida exchanging Outlaw for No Distractions. So why can't the same be done for Skyburner's, whose catalyst is the very definition of useless: it gives range to a weapon with no damage falloff. Maybe give it antibarrier as it already has a sort of antibarrier effect with the ability to penetrate phalanx shields.

Thanks to the popular post here, you can download an older version of Destiny Companion app (it's an APK and only for android , unless you got an emulator on windows like Nox or Bluestacks). You can login, look at the unclaimed rewards of the Seasons Undying, Dawn, Worthy, Arrivals and The Hunt.

I really hope that someday we're able to finish old purchased season passes, not everyone has the time to finish a pass in a certain amount of time. Hope you all have a beautiful day and stay healthy <3

Energy accelerant has highlighted how desperately aoe kill perks need buffing

    Posted: 22 Jul 2021 01:33 AM PDT

I mean aoe kill perks sounds stupidly strong by itself.

I have a firefly hung jury, and it's pretty bad without energy accelerant. I mean, firefly isn't that great without it anyway.

I think this highlights how badly they need a buff. It rewards spending that extra time and skill of aiming on the head (as opposed to just spray and pray) and actually clearing adds faster... Or it should? It does bad damage, and it's kinda horrible rn. I mean, firefly is good but ramage, kill clip and others are better, which is strange because both of them are kill perks, and on top of that, it's precision based, so it should be even more rewarding. Idk how to phrase it, but you get the point. Thoughts?

Made a Destiny story for my English final project. Wanted to share and perhaps get some feedback.

    Posted: 22 Jul 2021 08:55 PM PDT

    FROM: Sheemi-5

    TO: Vanguard Archive

    CC: Commander Zavala

    CATEGORY: Dead-Zone Scout Report

LOCATION: Old California, United States Dead-Zone

    PRIORITY: 7

    //REPORT FOLLOWS.../

This is Sheemi-5 with the routine report of Old California, specifically the Redwood Marsh. This report is a follow-up of increased levels of seismic activity and intel of unknown green light illuminating some of the areas. The presence of the Hive in the area has been documented and guardian presence is strictly prohibited as stated by the Vanguard unless given authorization by Commander Zavala himself.

Upon arrival, scans indicated elevated Hive corruption. My Ghost, Fez, noted an ominous presence in the vicinity. His voice sounded weak and almost suppressed. I could feel the presence, too.

Investigating the local ruins confirmed the scans of Hive infestation and corruption. Oddly enough, there was no Hive presence of any kind, not even a roaming Thrall. For a brief moment on our search, I thought I saw a green glow in the forest. After a thorough look though, there was no sign of it or its potential cause.

As we moved into the forest, that ominous presence grew. When Fez told me he felt like his Light was being suffocated, I decided to end the scout mission.

On our departure, I could see the green glow again on takeoff from the window of my jumpship. And as I entered the ship, I could have sworn I heard a whisper, beckoning me back into the forest. I asked my Ghost and he heard nothing.

My recommendation is to have a skilled Fireteam investigate the site further. From the data collected on the tremors and Hive corruption, and with my encounters as documented on this report, this could pose a security threat to the City if looked into soon.

    /...REPORT END//

    ______________________________________________________________________________

Elson let out an exasperated sigh, "Why the hell are we here again?"

"We are here because Zavala asked us to. He received a concerning scout report and wanted a capable Fireteam to investigate," Mora said with a mild tone of annoyance in her voice.

"Besides," Zem-3 added on the coms, "You are the one who said it would be fun to go to the Old California marsh. You were more concerned about going to a restricted zone than the mission we were assigned."

Zem-3, an Exo Hunter, Mora, an Awoken Warlock, and Elson, a Human Titan, were given the task by Commander Zavala to investigate the Redwood Marsh of Old California. The Commander briefed the team about a disturbing report he had received about the location. Their goal was to pursue the anomaly and not engage unless necessary. This was strictly an intel mission.

"Ok. Fine. You're right, but who would pass up the opportunity to go to a restricted zone? It's an opportunity almost any guardian would take," Elson said in an attempt to defend his action to commit his Fireteam to a mission they didn't all agree to. "Besides, I thought we could use our sparrows. I would have reconsidered if I knew we were going through the marsh on foot!"

"Yes, well, if you ever bothered to read the mission protocols for Vanguard operations you would know intel mission also implies stealth. If we go zipping around on our sparrow we will either draw out a ridiculous amount of hive or they go silent because they know we are here and the mission is a bust!" Zem-3 was equally annoyed that they had to go on foot.

Elson was going to follow up with rebuttal, but Mora chimed in to save him the embarrassment of another one of his terrible comebacks, "Listen, it doesn't matter who did what. We have been given a task by the Vanguard and we will see it through." she said calmly.

They continued their search with Zem scouting the path ahead and Mora and Elson scanning the area below. There were a few traces of Hive corruption scattered around the area. They found several tunnel entrances, most likely linking to an underground labyrinth.

Mora and Elson stared down one of the tunnel entrances, shining a light inside to see if it had an end, but to no avail. "So. Where do you think it leads?"

"It could lead to any number of things. For instance, we could find a shrine that the Hive use to commune with their worm gods. Or, we could find an ascendant Hive. Either way, it would most definitely lead to our deaths! And our final deaths at that." Mora smacked the backside of the Titan's head.

"Come on! We are here to investigate! We need to have something in the report."

Zem cut in on their coms, "No. The Hive are not your personal punching bag. We need to finish the scout mission and report what we find. If Commander Zavala feels the need for us to investigate further, then we can go into the tunnels."

Elson scoffed, "You would be afraid of the Hive."

"You said you would never bring that up!"

"Oh? A story about Zem and the Hive? Elson, do pray tell of this adventure," Mora said with a devilishly happy tone. It would make the mission seem less laborious.

"Alright then." Elson rubbed his hands together with glee. "We were on the Moon…"

    ______________________________________________________________________________

Elson and Zem-3 were coming back from the Altar of Sorrow on the moon, doing a few bounties for Eris Morn in hopes for some rewards for their troubles. Along the way, Zem-3 remembers about a cache he stashed in a chest nearby.

"Maybe if we give Eris a little glimmer she will give us a little something extra when we claim her bounties."

"Fine by me. You go grab your cache and I'll spot you on the cliff's edge. Then we'll head to Eris."

Zem took the path down into the crater while Elson stood on the cliff, watching the Hunter look for his looted cache. Elson wanted to make a bet during the Guardian Games but was short on the glimmer. He remembered Zem talking about a cache he hid on the Moon, so he found the hidden chest and took the glimmer, leaving a note for Zem when he came for it.

He took a vantage point high on the cliff because he wanted a good look at Zem's face when he saw that his cache was looted and didn't want to be too close when Zem found out.

Zem was looking around the crater, trying to remember where he hid his cache. Elson snickered and yelled down, "Any luck down there? I don't see anything."

"You know you could help me look! It would take less time if both of us were looking."

"No no, I'm fine. I quite like the view."

"You know what…" Before He could finish his thought, the ground began to shake. The rock beneath Zem's feet began to glow. He had accidentally stepped on a Hive ritual plate.

There was a Hive door in the crater. Zem stepped off the plate but to no avail. The door had already started to open. It made loud screeching sounds as the ancient metallic door slid open.

Suddenly screams echoed out through the door, and Thralls came, swarming from the opening. Zem's glowing eyes widened under his helmet. He quickly pulled out his hand cannon, blasting the Thrall as they rushed at him. There were too many coming at him at once. He ran for the exit of the crater, but as he approached the path, it was sealed by Hive magic. There was a Wizard nearby trapping him here. Zem backed against the translucent barrier that prevented his escape as the Thrall swarmed.

Elson smiled. He reached behind his back to grab his machine gun. With the cock of the gun he fired into the dust of the crater, making a shoddy line, halting the Thrall's advance momentarily. With that, he stowed his weapon and jumped off the cliff, and landed in front of the line.

As he rose, wisps of solar energy materialized around him. His hand glowed a bright firefly orange as a handle began to form. He began to move his hand around as his weapon was being forged. The handle continued to grow as the top grew into a monstrous head of a hammer and the bottom formed its tip. As it finished, the Titan slammed the end of his Burning Maul next to him, now fully enveloped in solar light.

"Time to hold the line," he said, grabbing the hammer with two hands and bashing Hive into the ground. He held on to the end of his massive hammer and spun around in circles, disintegrating any Hive that came into contact with his hammer. As he approached the door he lifted his hammer into the air and slammed the ground, sending a trail of fire in its wake. When it reached the door, it exploded into a whirling vortex of flame, burning anything that dared to pass through it.

"Come on! Join in on the action!" Elson eagerly yelled with enthusiasm.

"No thanks. I wouldn't want to take away your fun," Zem said with a light smile. Elson always got too excited for a fight.

Elson's flames were dissipating and his hammer vanished in a puff of flame and smoke as the final Thrall was slain.

A shriek came from the door. It was the Wizard. Without taking the time to think, Elson ran towards the Wizard, his hand glowing with solar energy again, forming a smaller single-handed hammer. Then, jumping off a rock, he swiftly struck the Wizard in the head mid-air, killing it.

As he landed, he turned to the remains of the Wizard, picking up its skull, "What do you think we'll get if we hand this to Eris?" Zem shook his head.

    "Can we get going now?"

    "Fine."

As they were walking, a loud and low scream came from the door. It was the Knight that was most likely serving as the Wizard's protection.

"Hold on a second." It came charging at Elson, lifting its swords preparing to strike. Elson reached for his back yet again, this time pulling a shotgun that his Ghost had transmitted for him. He knelt, and when the Knight was in striking distance, with a single shot, he blew the Knight's head right off, with its body falling to dust.

"Now we can go," Elson said confidently as Zem led him up the path and out of the crater for fear that an Ogre would come crawling out of the door.

"Zem," Mora said in a teasing tone. "I didn't know you had a fear of the Hive." She and Elson laughed at the story for a moment.

"Yeah well that was one time and I wasn't expecting a monsoon of Thrall to come creeping from the door. Anyway, I'm coming back to you guys. The area seems to be clear other than the tunnel entrances. We will wrap up our recon mission soon."

"Can we go exploring for a bit after?" Elson was quite persistent in exploring more of Old California than just the Redwood Marsh.

"No. The sooner Zavala gets the report, the sooner he can assess the threat. It's bad enough that the City is under an endless night from the Vex simulation. Not to mention the tension between the citizens and our new Fallen guests."

"Right now, I don't think we can afford a joy ride around the restricted zone. We need to do everything we can for the City." Mora was melancholy in her words. Everyone in the City was under a lot of pressure from the recent events.

Elson could feel the strife in his friend's tone and thought to cheer her up. "Hey, we've all fought vex before. We've crushed them countless times, including you if I recall correctly."

"You want me to recall the story of how we met, don't you?"

The Titan shook his head vigorously, acting in a silly manner to brighter Mora's spirits.

"If you insist." She was starting to smile again.

    ______________________________________________________________________________

"So, this is the Vault of Glass. Thought it would be, I don't know, a bit grander," Zem said with a lack of enthusiasm.

"A Fireteam went inside and never came out. Kind of spooky, if you ask me." Elson stood in front of the vault. It may not have been impressive on the outside, but if the stories he heard were true, then it truly is a formidable Vex stronghold.

"Stories are only stories. I'll believe them when I see the inside of the vault."

"Yeah, good luck with that. Only the best of the best get to go in and stop whatever they do there."

"They control time, picking and choosing what timeline best suits their goal, erasing any that may pose a threat to them," said the Warlock.

Zem and Elson turned to see a Warlock look at the vault with them.

"Thanks for the educational, yet oddly terrifying, education lesson," Zem said, feeling slightly uncomfortable standing in front of a place that could potentially erase his existence.

The Warlock pulled out her Ghost to translate her sparrow, "See that ring on the ground?" She pointed at the circular vex structure on the ground. "Don't step on it, it's a sync plate. If you do, the Vex will think you are trying to enter the vault and kill you."

With the warning, she got on her sparrow and sped off to finish her patrol of Venus.

Elson moved in front of Zem. "Just think, if we continue taking on more demanding Vanguard missions and expand our Fireteam, we could enter the vault and stop them from erasing timelines."

Elson stepped back a bit too far and his foot accidentally slipped onto the sync plate. His eyes widened under his helmet as he realized he made a fatal error.

Vex data began to swirl around them as dark clouds began to form, indicating Vex were teleporting to their location. They pressed against each other, back to back, bracing themselves for battle.

"Get ready to mow them down to scrap, then we're heading out of here," Zem said to Elson.

"Relax, this will be quick work."

Just as the words left his mouth, Vex Minotaurs and Wyverns teleported from clouds of data.

"Damn. They really don't want anyone entering that vault, do they? You'd think the keys to opening a door this important would be hidden instead of being out in the open." Wyverns and Minoutars surrounded them.

"Well, you might get your wish to see the inside of the vault," Elson said. "The only problem is we'll be dead."

Just then a Warlock soared into the air, flames trailing her as she ascended. She enveloped herself in flame and cast her hand in the air, creating a sword made of flame. With that, she swung her Dawn Blade downward, sending waves of divine fire at the Vex below. She soared effortlessly in the sky as she brought havoc down below. Most of the Vex had been destroyed, but a few damaged Wyverns remained.

She placed herself above the Titan and Hunter and thrust the point of her sword downward, striking the ground, creating a protective aura with a Well of Radiance.

Elson and Zem stared in amazement over the Warlock's ability to demolish so many powerful Vex. She readied her weapon. "Are you going to help, or do I need to save you by myself?"

The Hunter and Titan snapped out of their trance and did as the Warlock did. With the protection and destruction of the Warlock, the remaining Vex crumbled into pieces.

"You both know that Wyverns are the only Vex designed for combat that Guardians have encountered. In other words..."

"... We would have been dead," Zem said, knowing he and Elson owed her for saving them.

"Nice moves for a Warlock," Elson said. "Let me cut to the chase. I'm Elson and he's Zem. Right now, it's just the two of us." He extended his hand in front of the Warlock. "Care to join our Fireteam?"

The Warlock paused for a moment, looking at the Titan's hand, and then met his gaze, "The name is Mora," she said as her hand met Elson's.

    ______________________________________________________________________________

"If you were to ask me, my rescue seemed to be the more daring of the two," Elson said with confidence.

Mora almost laughed, "Right, you killed a swarm of insects on the Moon while I killed time-traveling warrior robots," she said with a sarcastic tone.

Zem jumped down from a tree and landed in front of the two. "Not to mention you caused the Vex to attack us! I am never that careless on our missions." He crossed his arms, awaiting recognition from his team for his heroic acts.

"Are you feeling left out because Elson and I are sharing stories about reducing you?" Mora was talking to Zem in a playfully condescending tone.

"Well, there was the time where I rescued you both from that Fallen Ketch," Zem mumbled under his breath, feeling slightly embarrassed by Mora's joke.

Elson laughed, "You just placed a bunch of trip mines as we ran away from the Fallen crew that was chasing us. But you are a Hunter, so I guess I can't blame you for avoiding confrontation."

Zem had no remark. "Come on. Let's finish patrolling the area and we'll head back to the City soon."

As they continued to maneuver around the marsh, they began to get lost. None of their scanners were working and none of their Ghosts could establish communication with Vanguard. They decided to continue to move forward as they had no other options, hoping they would find their ships eventually.

As they wondered, they had noticed increased levels of Hive corruption along the ground and climbing up the trees.

"My Ghost said they aren't feeling well, almost like there is a presence pressing against its shell," Mora said, concerned with Ghost's condition.

"I can feel it, too," Elson said, only looking forward at the path ahead.

As they reached an overgrown part of the forest, they could feel a dark presence smothering their light.

"Do you feel that?" asked Elson.

"Yeah. Something is behind this thick brush. And judging by the Hive corruption around us, it can't be anything good," replied Zem. What neither of them knew was that Mora could not only feel the presence they spoke of, but she could hear a dull whisper as the presence grew closer.

They pushed their way through the brush and what stood before them struck fear in every fiber of their being.

"What is that?" Zem asked, frozen with shock.

The structure that stood before them, by the entity of the Darkness, was a temple-like structure with the same ominous, floating, veiled statue that some Guardians reported seeing entering the Pyramid Ships on various planets.

"Is it a Ziggurat? There is one with the Exo Stranger on Europa. This looks similar to that one. The only question is, what is it doing here?" Elson examined the structure. It resembled the Ziggurat on Europa except this one was grander in appearance, and it had the veiled statue in its center.

Mora stared at the structure, too, examining each part, comparing its details to the structure on Europa. She looked around and saw many Hive tunnel openings, including a large one behind the structure that they faced.

Then her eyes widened as she realized what they had come across. Her words were cold as she spoke. "It's not a Ziggurat. It's an altar."

Elson and Zem looked at Mora confused. "What does that mean? This doesn't look like a typical Hive altar."

"The Ziggurat is a place of temptation. An altar is a place of worship. This structure was given to the Hive by the Darkness for worship." She froze, not believing what stood in front of her to be real. "We need to leave. NOW!"

Before they could move a ground-shaking roar came from the large tunnel entrance. As they stared into the black abyss, a monster trudged out from the dark.

"What is that, an Ogre?" Zem asked in a panic.

"No." Elson replied, "Look at it. It's at least twice the size and it looks different."

Mora became more worried. "That's because it was alerted by the Darkness using the altar! We need to go!" As they turned to escape through the brush, a wall of green flame blocked their path. The flame circled the perimeter, trapping them. Behind the transformed Ogre, a Hive Brood Queen emerged from the dark, her hands encased in the evil fire.

"Well, it looks like we'll get to have some action after all," Elson said with the cock of a shotgun.

He rushed the monstrous Ogre, jumping high into the air, aiming directly at the Orge's massive eye. Before he could pull the trigger the beast swung his arm, colliding with the Titan, sending him flying into a nearby pillar killing him.

Mora looked at Zem, "I'll go to resurrect Elson. You go distract that thing until I do. Then we will come up with a plan." Zem nodded and ran to go capture the Ogre's attention, trying not to die in the process. Mora pulled out her Ghost and resurrected Elson.

"That hurt," Elson said with a groan, rubbing the back of his neck.

"We need a plan. Any ideas?"

Elson took a moment to think, "Yeah I've got one, while Zem has that thing distracted, I'll ram it with a Hammer Strike. Then you use your Chaos Reach on it. If that doesn't kill it, it should at least give us the time to take down the Brood Queen."

"Alright. I'll follow your lead." With that, they ran towards the Ogre.

Zem had been shooting at the beast, but to no avail. Whatever Hive power was used to strengthen the creature, it had made it impervious to bullets. He threw a handful of smoke grenades that clouded the Ogre's vision. However, this only enraged the Ogre. It smacked Zem effortlessly into a wall and its eye began to glow a devilish green. It was going to vaporize him with an eye blast.

Elson then came flying in the air once again, this time striking the monster with his Hammer Strike, staggering the creature. Elson ran to Zem to get him out of harm's way.

On cue, Mora floated into the air as sparks of energy began to crackle around her. With all of her focus and power, she reached out and cast her Chaos Reach directly onto the Ogre.

Zem and Elson watched in amazement as Mora blasted the beast with her incredible beam of arc energy.

The Ogre staggered back even more, but its fury grew as the beam of energy persisted. Its hulking arms glowed and green flame wrapped around them. With a monstrous wail, the beast threw both arms in the air and slammed them into the ground, creating a shockwave that sent all three Guardians flying back, landing on the ground.

The Brood Queen's hands glowed brighter and each of the Guardians was grasped in a green whirling aura, being lifted towards the center of the altar and coming face to face with the Brood Queen.

The Hive sorcerer began an incantation, creating a green vortex around the central altar with her, the veiled statue, and the Guardians inside.

Each of them began to scream and contort their bodies as they felt a dark and invasive presence grow stronger. Mora looked directly at the Brood Queen, wishing with every fiber of her being she could strike her down now and end her Fireteam's suffering.

At that moment the whispers that spoke to Mora grew louder and louder. They spoke clearly to her now, and she listened.

    ______________________________________________________________________________

"Yes, that's good. Now throw it at the target." The Crow said as the Warlock threw the glowing green object at the training dummy.

The dummy was struck with a pointed object. Once impaled, the dummy was enveloped in a green flame and melted to the ground.

"You are doing well at controlling your new powers. Let's try something else. How about that trick you were showing me the last time."

Without a word, the Warlock created a ball of green fiery energy and launched it at the dummy but missed, hitting the wall causing it to disintegrate.

"Good. It could use some more work but you are doing well at developing your abilities."The Crow turned. "How about you two join me and show me what you have been working on?"

The Hunter and Titan stood. As they approached, the Titan's hand glowed. Green fire dripped from his hands as a wicked mace materialized. The Hunter placed his fists together and as he pulled them apart, a fiery whip formed.

The Exo Stranger stood in a dark corner of the room, watching the Guardians and their newly found powers.

Events were progressing at an accelerating pace. The acquisition of more Darkness powers had occurred sooner than she had hoped.

She would have to monitor this situation closely. If this Fireteam falls to the temptation of the Darkness, then this might be another timeline lost.

However, if this Fireteam could command another power granted by the Darkness, there would be a certain Guardian she would need to make aware of this development.

Got a heritage w/ autoloading, will this make do for doubleslugging?

    Posted: 22 Jul 2021 09:03 AM PDT

will try to run my 2nd crypt run this weekend! Hope I atleast get reconstruction, damn raid was so damn fun even though I'm so introverted and didn't do much during the raid going in blind. This time around I'm pretty familiar w/ all the encounters and hope in getting a chill raid team again! Ty for the answers! (Bungie fireteam finder is pretty good despite the hate.. just gotta weed out the trash, can't use the100 cause most of the player lives in the na region and time just doesn't matchup, better for me to be on the look out for raids on the bungie webpage than trying to find a scheduled one that fits min my time slot.)

    Osmosis requires changes

    Posted: 22 Jul 2021 11:20 AM PDT

Title. The perk has the potential to be good in high-end content with match-game, or with certain builds but it can't fully shine.

Some would suggest making it purely an energy weapon in the kinetic slot, but I beg to differ since sometimes it would be better to just stay on kinetic over using 3 energy weapons if there are no shielded enemies nearby because of the 5% dmg buff that kinetic weapons have over energy weapons, and it would also make the weapon stop working with whisper of rending as well.

So how about making it work similarly to Hardlight where we can switch between elements by holding R but only to the currently equipped subclass element?

    Title.

This has been an issue for quite a while now. I would love to run a 10 Movement sens and have like 6 ADS Sense. Please, we NEED this in the game.

Can we get the trains sfx lowered in Warden of Nothing

    Posted: 22 Jul 2021 03:24 PM PDT

There are multiple sections in the GM that require you to sit and clear some Champions before advancing to the next area. The train sfx in these areas is not only annoying, but a lot louder than it needs to be. Can we get this tweaked a little bit please?

Tommy's matchbook in my opinion is a incredible gun but is held back by the nature of the guns perk that hurts the user solar empowerment however kinda cancels it out due to the healing and if some unfortunate thing comes close enough to melee you it's burned to death I love it I recommend titan with Actium war rig with bottom tree solar

Why was the design of Warlock gloves changed from D1 into D2?

    Posted: 22 Jul 2021 08:34 PM PDT

Destiny 1's Warlock armor was great and the biggest reason I feel Destiny 2's armor has seldom been able to match it is because the way the gloves were changed. Before, the gloves would essentially cover your entire arm and shoulders, while now they only cover up your forearm. Most blatant example I can give is Ophidian Aspect and how it looked in D1 compared to now.

    https://imgur.com/a/papkvLj

I honestly think this is the reason I don't vibe with the Warlock as much in this game. That change just makes all the armor seem less cool (subjective, of course.)
