Hey Bungie, I Improved your UI somwhat. Mockups inside!

    Posted: 19 Oct 2019 12:54 AM PDT

    Hello everyone and Bungie.

My last post about New Light not being friendly kinda got very popular very fast. So I took some hours of my day to produce some mockups (actually two) that could give some ideas to the UI team on how to improve the more overwhelming parts of the UI, and even improve the UX.

    New Player Introduction - https://i.imgur.com/2RqtUEI.jpg

The game would no longer throw a lot of stuff at new player, let's bring the old progression system (or maybe just quests, really, if starting at 750 light is really necessary) and make it optional to those who want to skip.

This screen would appear when a new character finishes the Cosmodrome introduction mission, and it would activate the old progression (planets locked, et cetera). After finishing Red War, a similar one for CoO would appear, and after that, one of Warmind.

If Forsaken ever gets included in the game base (which is not a bad idea in the future, WoW does that), then one for Forsaken too.

    TUTORIALS!!

I don't have a screen for it right now, but it's similar to the last one, but taller. It would describe the activity and have pages describing important mechanics of the game mode, with the pictures changing to give context.

For example a player would click on Gambit, and if he never played it before the screen would appear. It would give a brief introduction to gambit, and the following page would give more details, like explaining what motes are and what they do, with a nice photo of the motes.

Then the next page would explain the banking of the motes and how it activates the portal, also picture of the slimyblacktube from gambit with open portal. Et cetera.

That would be nice for stuff, might even make some mockups of it when I wake up later.

    Inventory - https://i.imgur.com/fi7sysW.png

The inventory is a huge mess right now. It could use some sorting and categorization, so I created a mockup of how it would look like if items were separated by type. Also stack sizes at 99 to de-clutter.

In this screen we can see three categories I thought of:

    • Questing and Modifiers: Here you would be able to find the nightfall card, also menagerie chalice and mote synthesizer because they make more sense here. Can also add Raid Banners! And the Escalation Protocol stuff!
    • Consumables: Stuff you can activate, like boons, the tincture, the synths, et cetera. If the guardian can snack on it, it's here. I put the well charge here, but I guess a better place would be Questing and Modifiers. Well, don't want to edit the mockup again rn but y'all get it. :(
    • Tokens and Redeemables: Well, Tokens. And stuff you give to NPCs. Also Planetary Materials. If NPCs snack on it, it's here. Currencies should be here too, or they could be in another category I guess.

Also a category I didn't feel like creating a whole page just for it, but like, imagine arrows for changing pages like collections and pretend I did it.

    • Equipment Materials: Enhancement Cores, Prisms and the other one to masterwork. Ornaments before you snack on them would also go here.

So yeah, thanks for the attention Bungie, I love you. And y'all from the community too. I may be back with more mockups soon anyway.

Removing the mandatory Red War Campaign was a mistake

    Posted: 18 Oct 2019 08:24 AM PDT

The first time someone steps into Destiny 2, the Red War campaign is a godly intro into the universe, to explore what your light does, mechanics to the game, who the bad guys are, loot and power level progression etc. The opening scenes of getting annihilated, music and theme to limp around without your light and rebuild from the ground up is absolutely epic. Start from white loot. then holy shit greens! then blues! LEGENDARIES!

Subsequent characters they should have the option the skip, but IMO the first run through players absolutely need this guidance.

Where is this coming from? I ran into my cousin and on catching up I told him I was playing Destiny 2 these days. He got excited saying yeah its free and hes been doing a bit with 3 of his friends... but no idea WTF to do. They said they went to some golden city and got smashed, then had to ditch one to do some strikes poorly.

They literally all made new characters, finished the opening scene intro stuff, then walked into the leviathan 4 man.

It was one of the few activites they found they could jump into and go in as 4 since most other things are limited to a 3 man fireteam. No wonder they got their asses clapped.

Going into strikes before anything else spoils the story. Who is this they're fighting? Why are they here? Do the campaign then - wtf, didn't we do this already before from some strike?

I'll crash course sherpa them through D2 activities this weekend, but honestly all I'll say for the first 20 hours for them is to just do the campaigns. Learn the classes, supers, story and enjoy the intro the the planets.

Opening everything up at the start with no background or who you are, what you're doing here or where to go doesn't generate interest or appeal

EDIT - Thanks for the coin!

Also if they wanted New Light players to be able to jump in with vets, just let them bypass the gating to do the events if they grouped with the vets. This way they have a guide to those activities naturally, otherwise they would need to earn past the short campaign gating to get there on their own.

Maybe just make the campaign intro to the Red War up to when we get our light back then open world as now, or shorten the campaign to put more of it into adventures so we don't need to remove content.

    EDIT 2 - Elaborate a bit more.

Their intention was for all A New Light players to immediately jump into all activities with their friends. Major flaws:

    1. Assuming all ANL players will have vet buddies to immediately group with when the majority will not
    2. Any veteran friends would have gone into Shadowkeep on day 1 to play the SK story and the moon - NOT retrace old content
    3. What they did will not generate sales. Why would anyone try a game, get lost and confused then say hey lets buy it now? You need to immerse them into the game before they want more

This sub has devolved too far into complaints and suggestions.

    Posted: 18 Oct 2019 07:02 AM PDT

90% of top posts are suggestions for bungie / complaints for bungie. The irony of this post is not lost on me, but I can barely stand this sub anymore. All suggestions or bungie plz should be on the other another sub. It's cluttered and takes away from actual content for players like strategy, loadouts, thoughts on what's coming, etc. Not to mention the overwhelming negativity it spreads. It's just gotten a bit out of control.

Edit: TIL you can filter by flair. Icon just to the left of the search bar on desktop. Couldn't find it on mobile. Made a huge difference. I'm not saying I don't understand the point of the suggestions, and I'm aware Bungie does look at them. Just tired of seeing hundreds suggestions and a lot about very minor game details.

Edit 2: My suggestion, that most of the people saying I am complaining about complaining are missing, was to move them all to their own sub since there SO many (and so many duplicates, worded slightly differently). I am WELL AWARE the suggestions and critiques made here are visible to Bungie and have resulted in direct changes to the game. I KNOW. They are valuable but when I log on and see every other post is a suggestion about armor ornaments, breakneck being broken, armor affinity, it gets old. Yes I am not a Y1 D1 player, didn't aware we were gatekeeping here. I started at Forsaken and have played HEAVILY since. I'm aware of the cycle that comes with new releases. In hindsight, I should've chosen a different title for this post as my goal suggesting a separate subreddit for Bungie Suggestions. Now to find an app with filter on mobile.

Arbalest should probably get tweaked a bit since eriana’s vow exists

    Posted: 18 Oct 2019 10:12 PM PDT

Eriana's Vow is incredible. It destroys shields, it deals heavy damage, and its a unique weapon in that it uses special ammo instead of.... wait. Haven't we heard of this before?

    Oh yeah Arbalest.

Its literally just a better Arbalest.

Seriously though, Arbalest should probably be tweaked a little. Something to make it stand out. Like a catalyst! That would be sweet. Since the vows catalyst basically makes Arbalest useless in comparison.

Hell, I would honestly settle for outlaw on Arbalest as long as I get that sweet sweet orb generation.

Please Welcome: Bungie’s anger translator Luther!!!

    Posted: 18 Oct 2019 11:50 AM PDT

    clapclapclap clapclapclap

Bungie: So many of you haven't been as satisfied with this season's content.

    Luther: you mother fuckers....

-Some of you have been issuing concerns about the lack of content

    ~You MOTHER fuckers.

-we would like to express our deepest apologies for some your concerns and address them today.

~Do you know how hard we've been working?! Do you know the TIMEEE we've spent building this game!

-To begin, let's begin on the vendor refresh issue. We unfortunately have not made this a priority

~Are we just going to completely ignore New Light?! What's more important: Being able to play with your nearly-nonexistent friends, OR you getting some "brand-new" guns with some "brand-new" shaders, just so you can THROW THEM IN THE FUCKING VAULT!

-we would also like to talk about armor affinities. We believe that this change is new and jarring to some but adds a limit to the super build that players would otherwise make.

~Just grind for them! There's literally only 3 of them. You nincompoops didn't complain about 4x4x6x6 weapon combinations?! But armor affinities: "oh dear god it's so hard and slightly inconvenient, Big Big cry like a Big Big Baby".

-some of you are displeased, saying you would need all 9 slots to have good combinations of armor.

~Since D1 you have been using DIM. BUT NOW. ALL OF A SUDDEN. (Raises finger mustache) "Dim is too poor for me, Ishtar commander is peasant trash and I'm royalty"

-we are aware of a bug regarding powerful gear in the strike playlists

~WHY is it, that when we add a nightfall playlist with matchmaking, NO ONE BATS AN EYE. But when one or two nightfalls don't have (smeagol) "precious exclusive loot" you BRATS lose your minds!

-we are also hearing your voices, scout rifles are a bit weak right now.

~This game isn't about you STEVE. You're the ONLY ONE who uses scouts in the ENTIRE GAME. Just use Recluse like EVERYONE ELSE. Besides! We already gave you Randy's! Are you not satisfied.

-And finally, we want to thank you for playing. We hope you'll stay with us now that our roots are sunken in as an independent developer.

~We are in week MOTHER FUCKING 3! Of Season if the undying. We haven't even had the Dungeon yet! And ALL YOU itty bitty titty lickies have done nothing but complain! So just shut your mouth for like 2 minutes instead of letting Datto spoon feed you opinons! Fucking 4 eyed little bitch. We can't even show him the update without him FORCING US TO BAN DAY 1 JOTU...

-okay okay Luther. Please calm down. (Crashing and throwing of vases, pushes the nerf breakneck button) Luther please! (Smashes the keyboard, making players hit all equipment to 951 before progressing to 952)

~ALL I WANT IS FOR YOU TO BE HAPPY! DONT YOU SEE!? DONT YOU SEEEEE?!

-Luther nooo!!! You need you calm down! Take deep breaths.

    (Heavy breathing) (Deep deep breathing)

-Good Luther. But in all seriousness. Y'all need to fucking chill

Edit: -My first silver ever!!! Thank you! -And a gold!!! What a great Friday for me -Not one, but two platinums! Thank you to everyone who made my night so amazing. I just got off work to this. I love this game and it's community, I hope you all got a nice laugh out of this to relieve some stress

~can't believe you fuckers bothered to even read this long ass post. Un-FUCKING-believable. You should be taking out the hive. And I DONT mean to dinner

Is it me or is the new strike on IO not getting enough credit or attention?

    Posted: 18 Oct 2019 11:44 AM PDT

Like in game and out. There's nothing to lead you to it or make you run it. Nothing big afterwards even though there's some pretty big talk from Eris about what's going on.

Hell I'm the only one in my clan that noticed it and knew it wasn't a PS4 strike.

It's honestly probably the best strike I've done in a along time with a interesting mechanic of the cyclops locking you down and the little cubes.

Visually it's absolutely beautiful as well!

Just saying that this strike really does deserve some praise and this is from someone who usually drags there feet through the weekly powerful out of boredom.

Edit: just so you guys know it's called "The Festering Core", bottom of the map on IO.

Thank you for the front page! Glad I could help spread the word!!

Crota's Nightmare should have a chance to drop glowhoo!

    Posted: 18 Oct 2019 01:42 PM PDT

Like the title says, let there be glowhoo!!

EDIT 1: I've heard that Bungie wanted to go a different route with armor design in Destiny 2 and wanted to move away from glowing shaders and armor glows in general and move into armor designs that had more variety (note that I can't remember a source for this info so I'm not sure if this was exactly the case but I'm fairly certain something like the is likely the case). But I still think that shaders (like glowhoo) and armor glows (like solstice glows) are just super cool looking and that they should be allowed to prosper. If someone doesn't like it just don't use it and for those who do yearn for it, it would be awesome!

EDIT 2: I can't seem to find it but I've also seen other suggestions that have said that it'd be cool to have universal armor glows or something along those lines that can be applied to any legendary armor sets. And on that note just more in-game ornaments would be pretty great. Like being able to get ornaments that are nightmare hunt (max difficulty) specific or something like that.

Please allow us to use the Mercury Forge weapon skins as ornaments for the Vex Offensive weapons.

I really love the new Vex Offensive weapons, but since I have kind of a crappy graphics card I need to play with my texture settings kinda low. It normally doesn't impact my gameplay experience, but the low texture resolutions make the Vex Offensive weapons look like complete crap. The Forge weapons look perfectly fine though. I would use nothing but that new pulse rifle if I could have that original design as an Ornament.

Thank you Bungie for a doable IB quest

    Posted: 18 Oct 2019 10:43 AM PDT

I have completed it on all the characters. One per night. So thank you for not making it a pain.

Sure I struggled a couple times with certain weapon kills, but it was doable. Unlike before where they wanted 1000900 orbs of light and you were lucky to get one a match.

Increasing prices for subsequent artifact resets don't promote diversity of the builds

    Posted: 18 Oct 2019 07:18 AM PDT

    Title

There are many glimmer sinks this season. Artifact reset should not be one of them.

The fact that the price always increases for subsequent resets makes the situation even worse.

Instead of asking for glimmer, the artifact reset should be free, but have a cooldown, like 1 hour (so you can't reset it during an activity).

Please, please, stop trying to speedrun the 920 nightfall which despawns a bunch of the champions.

    Posted: 18 Oct 2019 09:50 AM PDT

The amount of champions you kill is directly tied to your rewards. Just one champion missed makes your chances of getting enablement cores, prizms and exotics slim to none.

If you see anybody despawn a champion, you might as well just leave because the rest of the nightfall is a waste of your time.

Bungie please move Gambit Synths into the Mote Synthesizer

    Posted: 18 Oct 2019 01:57 AM PDT

We really are struggling for inventory space now with more currencies and components getting added every season now.

Even Tokens from crucible, vanguard, iron banner should be added to their own currency pool to free up space.

Can we get pursuit tracking between respawns in Crucible?

    Posted: 18 Oct 2019 09:34 PM PDT

Title. I'm a new player, but being able to track pursuits while alive via Tab and not being able to do so while dead when pretty much the exact same menu pops up and having to go to the quest tab in Director seems like an oversight. It's minor, but it's a pretty annoying inconvenience.

Sorry if it's a duplicate post, and I hope it doesn't get lost in the swarm of "bungo pls" posts.

Massive Breakdown of the Vex Offensive Weapons (Including Stats, Times-to-Kill, and Recommended Perks)

    Posted: 18 Oct 2019 07:20 AM PDT

If you'd like to hear more in-depth discussion of the Vex Offensive weapons (and the sandbox changes listed in this week's TWAB), check out the Massive Breakdown Podcast Episode 136!

    Several Things to Note:

    • This is not a comprehensive list of every perk available in the pools, just the ones I recommend.

    • Classes are broken down into Impact Archetypes.

    • These are strictly my opinions, so I'm very aware that a lot of people will probably disagree with them.

    • The Bolded Perk/Perks in each slot mean that I recommend using them the most. If there are no bolded perks, it means that I feel any of the listed perks are fine to use in the slot.

    • Pros and Cons are determined by comparing weapons within the same class, not by all weapons in general, and not by only the weapons within the archetype. If you would like a different or more specific comparison than what I have listed, feel free to ask and I can provide one in the comments.

    Scout Rifle

    High-Impact

    Imperative - Kinetic

Pros - Fast Optimal TtK. High range.

    Neutral - None.

Cons - Very low aim assist. Low stability. Below average reload speed, handling, and mag size. Very slow Body Shot TtK.

    • Time-to-Kill: 0.80s (3 crit), 2.00s (6 body)
    • Rate of Fire: 150
    • Impact: 67 (66 crit, 38 body)
    • Range: 69
    • Stability: 28
    • Reload Speed: 37
    • Handling: 30
    • Aim Assist: 33
    • Mag Size: 13

    Perks:

    • Barrels - Polygonal Rifling, Chambered Compensator, Smallbore, Fluted Barrel, Corkscrew Rifling, Hammer-Forged Rifling
    • Magazine - Steady Rounds/Tactical Mag/Appended Mag, Flared Magwell, Accurized Rounds
    • Trait 1 - Outlaw, Subsistence, Triple Tap, No Distractions, Eye of the Storm
    • Trait 2 - Rampage/Multikill Clip, Explosive Payload, Opening Shot

Imperative is a high-impact scout rifle (150 RPM, my favorite archetype from Destiny 1) that I want to love, but I just can't bring myself to. The problem is that, stat-wise, it's basically inferior in every way to its most similar competitor, which is Talons of the Eagle from Forsaken Iron Banner. With Imperative having slightly worse range, stability, reload speed, handling, and mag size, and only 3 points higher aim assist, there just isn't enough to offset those weaker stats. I would say overall, Imperative is right smack dab in the middle of the archetype's rankings, above weapons like Wrong Side of Right and Does Not Compute, but below TotE, The Cut and Run, and Calusea Noblesse.

In terms of perks, Imperative doesn't do a ton to differentiate itself, considering it has very standard roll possibilities. I will say that it has the ability to roll Multikill Clip, which may elevate it slightly in PvE over some of the other high-impacts, but for PvP I wouldn't recommend it. As with all high-impact scouts, the main drawbacks are stability, reload speed, and mag size, so I like to try to focus there for barrels and magazines. Polygonal Rifling, Chambered Compensator, and Smallbore can all help boost the stability a bit in the barrel slot, while Steady Rounds, Tactical Mag, or Appended Mag can help with stability, mag size, or both. For traits, Outlaw is the best option in the first slot, but don't sleep on Subsistence for PvE, which is infinitely more usable since it was tuned to not hurt reserves as much. Triple Tap is also a possibility, but it was more useful back in D1 when primaries had a little bit more usability against bosses than they seem to in D2. For PvP, if you can't get Outlaw, Eye of the Storm is the best option, and the benefit to accuracy when your health is low is very, very noticeable. No Distractions is also a possibility, which helps to negate flinch after you've been ADS for a short time. I think this is a bit of a risky perk to use on a primary, as you really shouldn't be hardscoping lanes with anything outside of a sniper, but it can be nice for the very passive players.

I will say, after using this gun for a bit, there is one thing that I do really like about it that can't be described with stats or perks: the sight-picture through the scope is really quite clear and open. It's a nice change from some of the more narrow or cluttered optics that we have in the game. Outside of that, though, I don't recommend chasing this weapon.

    Hand Cannon

    Precision

    Optative - Energy (Void)

Pros - High recoil direction and stability. Above average reload speed.

    Neutral - None.

Cons - Below average range, aim assist, and mag size. Low handling.

    • Time-to-Kill: 1.00s (3 crit 1 body crit), 1.67s (6 body)
    • Rate of Fire: 180
    • Impact: 78 (57 crit, 38 body)
    • Range: 41
    • Stability: 60
    • Reload Speed: 58
    • Handling: 33
    • Aim Assist: 67
    • Recoil Direction: 97
    • Mag Size: 9

    Random Perks:

    • Barrels - Hammer-Forged Rifling, Extended Barrel, Smallbore, Corkscrew Rifling, Polygonal Rifling, Chambered Compensator
    • Magazine - Accurized Rounds, Steady Rounds, Tactical Mag, Appended Mag, Flared Magwell
    • Trait 1 - Rapid Hit/Outlaw, Underdog, Under Pressure, Fourth Times the Charm
    • Trait 2 - Kill Clip, Opening Shot, Zen Moment, Shield Disorient, Demolitionist

I have no problem being up front about this (I said it before in my Trust review), but I love 180 RPM HCs in general, this one is no different. They are just phenomenal feeling weapons for me in PvP, and although the TtK on anything outside of Luna's or Not Forgotten leaves something to be desired, I just can't help but keep using them whenever I need an HC for Crucible. They're very forgiving, with an absolutely easy 3 crits and 1 body needed for optimal TtK, and they feel sticky and accurate at ranges that are surprisingly deep with the right rolls. Stat-wise, they also have pretty great recoil direction and stability by default, and Optative compares pretty favorably to Trust with slightly higher range, stability, and reload speed, but slightly worse handling and aim assist. As such, I'd still definitely recommend range boosting perks in the barrel and magazine slots, like Hammer-Forged Rifling and Accurized Rounds, especially since there are a number of perks in the trait slots that offer ways to boost stability. Speaking of traits, 180 RPM HCs are probably the only archetype of HCs that I don't feel like really benefits from Opening Shot, specifically because I always found myself being accurate without it. It's still great if you get it here, as it basically guarantees you'll hit the first shot, but I'd go with Kill Clip as the best option in the second slot, especially if you can get Rapid Hit or Outlaw in the first trait slot (which is basically the roll everyone is chasing on the Kinetic Service Revolver).

Keep in mind, most of this recommendation is for PvP, where I feel the gun really shines (outside of hyper-competitive games where you can't count on the slow TtK to net you many victories against faster killing options), and that's because I'm actually not a huge fan of 180 HCs in PvE. I've tried to give them a shot, but I just feel like they never have quite the stopping power I'm looking for when critting adds or trying to take down yellow bars.

If you've been looking for another 180 RPM HC to add to your energy slot, with maybe a bit more potential lethality than Trust, this is the weapon for you.

    Pulse Rifle

    Adaptive

    Adhortative - Energy (Solar)

Pros - Above average handling and mag size.

Neutral - Average stability and reload speed.

Cons - Below average range and aim assist. Low recoil direction.

    • Time-to-Kill: 0.93s (5 crit 2 body), 1.40s (10 body)
    • Rate of Fire: 390
    • Impact: 29 (31 crit, 20 body)
    • Range: 47
    • Stability: 55
    • Reload Speed: 45
    • Handling: 48
    • Aim Assist: 61
    • Recoil Direction: 61
    • Mag Size: 36

    Random Perks:

    • Barrels - Smallbore, Chambered Compensator, Extended Barrel, Polygonal Rifling, Hammer-Forged Rifling, Corkscrew Rifling
    • Magazine - Ricochet Rounds, High-Caliber Rounds, Light Mag, Flared Magwell, Appended Mag, Armor-Piercing Rounds
    • Trait 1 - Feeding Frenzy, Genesis
    • Trait 2 - Rampage/Multikill Clip, Dragonfly

An energy pulse rifle hailing from the same archetype as one of my all-time favorite primary weapons, Bygones, the Adhortative pulse rifle is a fair compromise for anyone who hasn't had a good Last Perdition drop, or hasn't been able to grab Inaugural Address from the Leviathan. Adaptives are pretty strong in PvP right now, with a pretty easy to achieve optimal TtK (albeit a bit on the slow side at 0.93s) and decent optimal range, even post the most recent nerf.

Stat-wise, if we compare head to head with Last Perdition, it has worse range, stability, reload speed, handling, recoil direction, and mag size, with only 1 point higher aim assist. Very similar to Imperative in this respect, and I have to imagine the worse stats across the board are due to the higher ease of farming this gun.

I've just taken to trying to up range, stability, and recoil direction as much as I can. As such, Smallbore, Chambered Compensator, and Extended Barrel are probably the best barrel options, but alternatives like Polygonal and Hammer-Forged Rifling are also fine. For the mag perks, Ricochet Rounds, Hi-Cal Rounds, and Light Mag are the best magazine options as they boost either stability or range and provide an additional benefit. If you end up with Smallbore instead of one of the recoil direction boosting barrel perks, I highly recommend a Counterbalance mod to bring the recoil direction up to 76, which is a huge improvement. When we talk traits, unfortunately it can't roll what I consider the god-roll of Outlaw and Kill Clip, but it can get a very exceptional substitute in Feeding Frenzy and Rampage or Multikill Clip (Rampage being more than enough to push it up to a 6 crit, 2 burst kill).

All in all, the gun is pretty good thanks to the archetype being strong and the rolls being good, and if you don't have a better alternative in the slot, I absolutely recommend farming for it.

    Submachine Gun

    Lightweight

    Subjunctive - Energy (Arc)

Pros - High handling. Above average aim assist.

Neutral - Average mag size and reload speed.

Cons - Very low range. Below average stability and recoil direction.

    • Time-to-Kill: 0.67s (9 crit 2 body), 1.13s (18 body)
    • Rate of Fire: 900
    • Impact: 15 (19 crit, 11 body)
    • Range: 33
    • Stability: 43
    • Reload Speed: 35
    • Handling: 69
    • Aim Assist: 52
    • Recoil Direction: 92
    • Mag Size: 36

    Perks:

    • Barrels - Polygonal Rifling/Chambered Compensator/Smallbore, Corkscrew Rifling, Hammer-Forged Rifling, Extended Barrel, Full Bore
    • Magazine - Ricochet Rounds, Light Mag, Appended Mag, Flared Magwell, High-Caliber Rounds
    • Trait 1 - Quickdraw, Hip-Fire Grip, Genesis, Threat Detector, Outlaw
    • Trait 2 - Swashbuckler/Surrounded/Multikill Clip/Rampage, Shield Disorient

I don't hesitate to say it, but outside of The Recluse and sometimes Riskrunner, SMGs just aren't really in a strong place for PvP, and Subjunctive is no exception. Horrendous range, poor stability and hard to control recoil make it nearly impossible to achieve the optimal TtK, and poor aim assist (a general trait of all SMGs, considering Subjunctive actually has above average aim assist comparatively) doesn't help. With all that being said, what absolutely redeems this weapon is it has the potential to be very, very useful in PvE.

Currently, Recluse is one of the strongest primary weapons in PvE, hands down, as a void energy SMG. Players also have the potential to farm CALUS Mini-Tool with Surrounded, for a solar energy option. And now we have Subjunctive, an arc energy weapon, with more damage boosting perk potential in the second trait slot than I've ever seen in one place. You basically can't help but get a damage boosting perk that would help in PvE, with Swashbuckler, Surrounded, Multikill Clip, and Rampage all in that slot. I personally love Swashbuckler for PvE due to the ease of activation, but Surrounded also offers a huge damage boost (at the cost of it being a passive activation). Multikill Clip and Rampage are also both excellent for add control duty. Working backwards, in the first trait slot I'd probably go with Quickdraw, but Hip-Fire Grip isn't bad for the spray and pray type players, and Genesis can be very fun to pair with Shield Disorient in trait slot 2 for an interesting little shield breaker build, especially against Fallen.

In the magazine and barrel slots, we need to be aware that, for PvP, we'd probably focus on range since the base value is horrendous, but that matters a lot less in PvE, so I want to prioritize stability for ease of use. Polygonal Rifling, Chambered Compensator, or Smallbore would all do the trick, along with Ricochet Rounds in the magazine. If you combine all those perks, you get something both fun to use and pretty powerful!

    TL;DR

    Must Have

    1. Optative - Void Precision Hand Cannon
      • PvP - Hammer-Forged Rifling, Accurized Rounds, Rapid Hit/Outlaw, Kill Clip
    2. Subjunctive - Arc Lightweight Sub-Machine Gun
      • PvE - Polygonal Rifling/Smallbore/Chambered Compensator, Ricochet Rounds, Quickdraw/Hip-Fire Grip/Genesis, Surrounded/Swashbuckler/Multikill Clip/Rampage

    Pretty Good

    1. Adhortative - Solar Adaptive Pulse Rifle
      • Both - Any Stability/Range/Recoil Direction Barrel, Any Stability/Range Magazine, Feeding Frenzy, Rampage/Multikill Clip

    Not Great

    1. Imperative - Kinetic High-Impact Scout Rifle
      • Both - Polygonal Rifling, Steady Rounds/Tactical Mag/Appended Mag, Outlaw, Rampage/Multikill Clip

Thundercrash should do more damage the farther you travel before hitting your target

There, Bungie. Now Thundercrash is a high risk/reward super, and also skill-based in that you have to fly through a map and enemies to increase the super's damage. Just do this already.

Old Raid Ornaments are not equipable on the new Armor 2.0 Variants

    Posted: 18 Oct 2019 04:15 AM PDT

I love the Eater of Worlds raid armor with its raid challenge ornaments. I don't know since when but now you can only get 2 drops from that raid; phase 1 and 2 from the boss. I've run that raid since Shadowkeep dropped in hopes of getting armor 2.0 variants and I was lucky enough to get both drops from this week to be armor. Went to apply the raid ornament to the armor but its not showing on the new set

    https://imgur.com/a/EPyOg5D

The first image is from the Armor 2.0 variant that I got just now, the second image is from Armor 1.0 that I reacquired from Collections. Not sure if this was intentional or not but I would really appreciate if I could get some traction on this post so that Bungie devs could see or respond to this. Like I said, I really love this armor set and I'm kinda bummed out that I cant apply the ornaments and becoming a glowing beacon of light...

It would be really cool if once you fully masterworked a piece of armor you could change the affinity and change/apply mods for free

    Posted: 18 Oct 2019 09:24 AM PDT

Would definitely give you something to work towards in terms of the new armor system. Like, "hey, I know this new system sucks complete dick right now, but once I masterwork my helmet i can do whatever i want with it"

Fully masterworking just one piece of armor is so damn expensive so this would be a nice incentive.
