This week at Bungie, there's a lot going on.

We're already into week three of Season of the Undying. The Iron Banner is up and running and we have some new things lined up for next week. Master Nightmare hunts begin next week. These will be the most difficult Nightmare hunts to date, so equip your best weapons and gear.

That's not all. The Exotic Quest for Leviathan's Breath will also go live for all season pass owners. Rumor has it that Banshee knows something about where to start.

    The Show Must Go On

The infamous Hunter known as Paul "The Big Show" White is stopping by our studio this weekend. He's going to join us on stream to play some Destiny. That means that some of you will have a chance to win an Emblem. This will be a Bungie Bounty, but we are going to mix up the activities. We'll play a few Strikes, some Vex Offensive, and then finish up with some Crucible so Big Show can pound some Warlocks into dust.

The usual rules for a Bungie Bounty apply: For Crucible, you will need to match into our game and be on the winning team. For everything PVE, you only need to match with us fight the good fight to earn the new Bungie Bounty emblem.

The last time we did a Bungie Bounty we played on Xbox. This time we will be playing on PS4.

PC, you are on deck. More on that later…

    Shifting Sands

We have a few tweaks coming to the combat sandbox in update 2.6.1, which is currently being targeted to deploy on October 29. Here is the Destiny Dev Team to give you the details.

    Super Energy Refunding Kills

    Goals:

For a while now, Trample and Everlasting Flames have been an outlier, especially in PvP. We've previously done a pass to add diminishing returns to this but it's proven to not be enough. In this update, we've tightened the curve a bit and split it out over PvE and PvP. This should allow Guardians to keep dunking on combatants for longer while being less oppressive against one another.

Additionally, for Striker, we've increased the cost of the light attack to make dashing across the map a little less forgiving. We still want this to be used as a way to run people down or dodge and be shifty, but this change should make it costly enough as to be prohibitive as a form of long distance travel. Finally, regeneration will no longer proc on melee kills while in super. The combination was just too strong and overly forgiving of strategic or positional mistakes.

Striker - Code of the Juggernaut (Bottom Path)

    • Trample:

      • Tuned the amount of Super energy returned per kill

        • Reduced amount returned possible per kill from 15% to 13% (before diminishing returns)
        • Reduced the low end of the diminishing returns from 5% to 3.25%
        • Changed the kills for the diminishing returns by splitting them out between players and combatants
        • Previously it was 15 kills. Now it is 14 combatant kills or 7 player kills (players count for 2X towards diminishing returns)
      • Cost of light attack in super increased by 50% from 2% to 3%

      • Regeneration on kill no longer procs on super kills

Dawnblade - Attunement of Flame (Bottom Path)

    • Everlasting Flames:

      • Tuned the amount of Super energy returned per kill (handled differently than Striker as this attack in an AoE)

        • Increased the low end of the diminishing returns from 0.75% to 0.95%
        • Changed the kills for the diminishing returns by splitting them out between players and combatants
        • Previously it was 30 kills. Now it is 21 combatant kills or 7 player kills (players count for 3X towards diminishing returns)

Quality of Life and Bug Fixes:

Sentinel - Code of the Protector (Top Path)

    • Ward of Dawn:

      • Armor of Light timer now correlates with the life of the Ward of Dawn
      • Particle FX move more rapidly towards the end of the Ward of Dawn's life

Nightstalker - Way of the Wraith (Middle Path)

    • Shattering Strike:

      • Fixed a bug in which Shattering Strike activation window was reduced to 3 seconds along with Truesight
        • Shattering strike last the proper 9 seconds once again

    Shoulder Charge

We've removed a bug that allowed players to shoot immediately before activating shoulder charge, which allowed players to apply the 1-2 Punch damage buff to shoulder charge. This bug was caused by a quality of life change made for Tempest Strike. Before Shadowkeep, if player's had the sprint button configured as "hold to sprint", then they would need to be holding the sprint button while sliding in order to activate Tempest Strike. With the release of Shadowkeep, we added a small window of time where players could activate Tempest Strike after letting go of the sprint button. This change had unexpected effects on other melee abilities, so we have reverted this change until we can find a better fix for Tempest Strike.

We're also aware of feedback about other abilities and gear not mentioned above. We have our eye on One Eyed Mask – expect a change in a future update.

    Patch Note Preview

Along with the sandbox changes we already mentioned, we have a preview of some of the other patch notes coming up in update 2.6.1:

    • Forsaken subclasses will display the correct super icon in the PvP HUD for the following Subclasses:

      • Thundercrash
      • Burning Maul
      • Blade Barrage
      • Spectral Blades
      • Nova Warp
      • Well of Radiance
      • Chaos Reach
    • Fixed a bug where Warlocks who wagered Weak Motes in Reckoning were incorrectly being rewarded Titan gear

    • Fixed a bug that increased loading times for gear preview while in space flight.

    • Players should notice their character models update more quickly while changing gear, previewing ornaments, or previewing shaders during space flight

    • Phantasmal Core stack cap raised from 3 to 999

    Steam

    • Blocking Communication with Players in Steam will now block/mute Players in Destiny 2
    • Added Functionality for /addfriend and /removefriend commands

      • /addfriend [ PlayerName ]
      • /removefriend [ PlayerName ]
      • Note - Players must be in one of your Rosters (Fireteam, Friends, or Clan) in order to Add/Remove them as a Friend
    • Added Functionality for /invite command

      • /invite [ PlayerName ]
        • Note - Players must be in one of your Rosters (Fireteam, Friends, or Clan) in order to Invite them by PlayerName

        • Note - You can Invite Players by SteamID, regardless of if they're in your Roster or not
    • Players can now /invite and /join another Player regardless of their Steam Online Status ('Online', 'Invisible' or 'Offline')

    • /help description updated to reflect new changes to commands

    Armor Two Point Zero

One of the new systems rolled out along with Shadowkeep is the new Armor 2.0 system. We have been monitoring the feedback around the system. Today, the Destiny Dev Team has some goals for Armor 2.0 and some upcoming changes that are coming.

Hi everyone! We wanted to check in and talk a little about Armor 2.0, its goals, your reactions, and upcoming additions and tweaks to the system.

The most frequent questions and feedback come from the energy affinity system, which determines which mods can be socketed into which armor pieces. We wanted to kick this discussion off with a little bit more information on the reasons why the energy system came about, and what it's intended to accomplish. The armor energy system has the three following primary goals:

    1. Give players the freedom to experiment with builds, while also requiring players to make creative choices when putting together those builds. The biggest reason why mods became unlocks instead of consumables is to encourage players to experiment with perk combinations. The energy type and cost of a mod asks players to consider which mods they value most for a particular build, sometimes requiring them to make choices or come up with creative combinations of armor energies across all five equipped armor pieces.

    2. Give players the ability to balance mods above and beyond pure effectiveness. When mods have no restrictions on their use (as was the case prior to Armor 2.0), each mod is only evaluated on its strength and usefulness (or access, in the case of consumables). Giving mods an energy cost gives us a knob to turn that gives weaker mods value and stronger mods a drawback. Giving mods an energy type allows us to limit the scope of combinations within a single armor piece (making their use cases easier to predict and balance for), and also gives us room for other perks and mods (for example, artifact mods) that break these restrictions. This means the perks and mods that break the rules can be compelling choices, without them having to also be significantly stronger to be appealing.

    3. Relieve information overload pressure on the mod UI. Early playtests, which did not have the energy system, had all mods for a particular slot visible each time you moved your cursor over them. This resulted in a huge amount of information overload, and also made it hard to quickly find, and change out, mods that you were seeking. Cutting down on the number of mods visible for a particular armor piece makes it easier to process this information.

There's a lot more to it than that, but those are the most notable points.

When it comes to deciding which weapons were associated with which affinity, there were three main criteria used to choose where to put them:

    1. Ammo Type: Each energy type needed to have a good mix of primary, special, and power ammo weapons.

    2. Range: Each energy type needed to have a good mix of short, middle, and long-range weapons.

    3. Thematics: Each energy type should have weapons that are similar thematically, when possible, and feel like the kinds of weapons that match other mechanics associated with that energy type.

We have seen feedback suggesting that, instead of locking mods into an energy type, the affinity should simply be a discount on the energy cost of the mod. That's actually what the broad-category mods (such as Rifle Loader, Precision Weapon Targeting, etc.) are meant to represent: a higher cost for gaining the benefit with a weapon not normally associated with that energy type. So, instead of having to display every mod for that slot when you move your cursor over the socket, you see only the two to three broad-category mods in that socket, plus the ones with energy types associated with it.

Of course, not every mod type got a broad-category version, notably the mod types that affect the ammo economy. That's because any mods that tinker with the ammo economy have a lot of caveats and exceptions, mostly due to weapons that use ammo types not normally associated with that weapon archetype, such as Eriana's Vow, the Mountaintop, Whisper of the Worm, and so forth.

We needed a bit more time to build the broad category versions of these mods and test them thoroughly, but at the start of next season there will be broad-category mods for both the ammo finder and ammo scavenger categories, and they will be automatically unlocked for all players (no need to hunt them down!). This should help round out your builds more easily, and give you more options for tinkering with your ammo no matter what armor energy type you use. We're also working on some broad category ammo capacity mods, but those need some more work before they're ready for primetime.

Another big change coming up is the loosening of stacking restrictions on Armor 2.0 mods. Starting next season, the restrictions on having multiple mods of the same type in a single piece of armor will be removed (with a few exceptions). So, you'll be able to run two Hand Cannon Loader mods, or two Shotgun Ammo Finder mods, and so forth. The only exceptions to this stacking come from mods that provide no benefit when stacked, such as Fastball and Traction. We needed a little more time to make sure that stacking mods wouldn't cause any major technical issues, and think that stacking mods of the same type gives more flexibility in crafting your build, provided you have the armor energy to spend in socketing them in.

One thing to be aware of with mod stacking: In most cases, stacking up identical mods will provide diminishing returns on their effectiveness. For example, two Hand Cannon Loader mods don't provide twice the benefit; instead, they provide about 1.5x the benefit of one Hand Cannon Loader mod. However, this puts them on equal footing with the enhanced mods. So, two Hand Cannon Loader mods provide the equivalent benefit of a single Enhanced Hand Cannon Loader. We're also going to be lowering the energy costs of some of the armor mods to better reflect the value of an enhanced mod.

One last bit of news on Armor 2.0. When we created the system, we wanted to include armor mods in Collections, so you can see how many you have gathered, and where they can be acquired. This also presented a good opportunity to do some housekeeping on the Collections tab in general, but, unfortunately, proved to be a little more time-intensive than we'd hoped, so the changes didn't come alongside Shadowkeep. Good news, though! In the 2.6.1 patch, coming later this month, armor mods will be visible in your Collections, allowing you to browse through all the possibilities and see which ones you have already collected. Additionally, starting next season, the armor mod Collections will get a UI upgrade, allowing them to display armor energy type and cost on the icon, just like they do in your armor socket.

    Fashion Week

It's fashion week. In a previous update we showed you The Levante Prize, a fancy new emblem we will be giving out to fashion-focused Guardians.

We've been tracking bugs and already deployed a few fixes since Shadowkeep launched earlier this month. Player Support has the latest.

    This is their report.

    Destiny 2 Hotfix 2.6.0.4

This week, we deployed Destiny 2 Hotfix 2.6.0.4 to players on all platforms. This hotfix resolved several issues to emerge in the player experience since launch. Here are some highlights:

    • Fixed an issue where the Servitor spawning in the Gofannon Forge could crash the game.
    • Fixed an issue where Nightmare Hunts Time Trial Master triumph would not progress correctly.
    • Fixed an issue where Nightfall: The Ordeal would not drop a powerful reward for players who had already completed the Vanguard Strikes Challenge.
    • Fixed an issue that provoked the temporary deactivation of rally banners and the "Tire Game" in the Sanctuary vendor space on the Moon.

As with all updates and hotfixes, players should follow @BungieHelp on Twitter or monitor our support feed on help.bungie.net for the latest details as soon as they are available.

    PC Migration

Since launch, we've been investigating player reports regarding a subset of issues which may cause PC Migration to fail for PC players importing their accounts from Battle.net.

While investigations are ongoing, we've deployed several fixes to Bungie.net over the past two weeks which are expected to resolve a number of issues encountered by players. If your account has failed to migrate, to include the transfer of characters, Silver, and/or licenses, we encourage you to try again. As a reminder, once PC Migration has been initiated, it cannot be undone.

Aside from issues being investigated in the migration process, we've also observed reports from players who've linked the wrong Battle.net or Steam accounts to their Bungie.net profile, resulting in migration either to or from an undesired account.

Players who linked and migrated from a different Battle.net account than desired can perform migration again. To do so, players must link their intended Battle.net account to a new Steam account through Bungie.net and perform a new migration.

Players who link and migrate to a different Steam account than desired must log in to that account on Steam in order to access their characters, Silver, and licenses. Once migration is initiated, these cannot be transferred to another Steam account.

Players encountering process issues with PC Migration may opt to assist us in our efforts to aggregate information. Player who wish to do so should submit a response to our contact form. Please note that this form is designed to gather information about PC Move issues, and that each ticket may not receive a personalized response.

As a final note, we've also observed confusion from players believing that their Forsaken licenses did not transfer from Battle.net to Steam, because the Forsaken campaign was not available from Amanda Holiday. Unlike the Red War, Curse of Osiris, and Warmind campaigns included in New Light, which are received from Amanda Holiday in the Tower Hangar, the Forsaken campaign begins with players launching directly into the first mission from the Tangled Shore destination map.

    Destiny 2 Known Issues

Destiny Player Support monitors player reports on our local #Help forum and tallies the latest issues into our Known Issues thread. Listed below is a selection of recent issues that have been reported by players:

    • The Black Armory Key Mold cannot be obtained by players who did not receive it before Season 8.
    • Players who have the "Invitation from the Emperor" and "Golden Hero" quests on multiple characters can't unlock the Tribute Hall.
    • Warlocks wagering Weak Motes in Reckoning are receiving Titan armor.

As always, players who encounter issues are encouraged to report them to our #Help forum.

If all Exotic weapons are unlocked, Xur's fated engram should guarantee an Armor piece.

    Posted: 17 Oct 2019 08:43 AM PDT

It really doesnt make sense to keep allowing us to get weapons from the Fated engram when we have all of them. Especially now that Armor rolls and element affinity have a ton of value. The sources for armor are equally valuable.

To keep it "fair", you still have the RNG element with it being a random armor piece at a pretty high price of legendary shards. As it stands, the min/max armor grind is extremely intense with not only getting a high stat roll in the stats you want but also the correct element. Adding the world drop chance on exotic armor to that formula and we end up needing a reliable source.

Destiny 2 severely lacks in-game tutorials.

    Posted: 17 Oct 2019 09:15 PM PDT

And NewLight just made it worse by removing the introduction to PvE you got from Devrim.

I could write a lot of posts about newbies ruining PVE and PVP game modes, but well, I can't really blame them, the game doesn't explain shit. They queue for something for the first time and they just start the activity as if they knew what they are supposed to do.

Take for example Gambit. And Control. And Heroic Events.

Fix yo game Bungie, and add PROPER INGAME TUTORIALS, because the way it is New Light isn't New-friendly.

Seriously; with all this Vex content, there really needs to be a way to upgrade Perfect Paradox to Exotic

    Posted: 17 Oct 2019 09:52 AM PDT

I've said it before, I'll say it again; Saint-14 is one of the most iconic characters in Destiny lore, and it's only fitting that his prized weapon should get revamped to Exotic status.

As for perks, I would either restructure it as a Primary-ammo Shotgun (like Universal Remote was in D1, maybe have it deal more damage in PvE and nerfed in PvE), and/or allow it to fire through friendly Titan Barricades and Wards (Saint-14 is the quintessential Defender Titan, and it would pair extremely well with the Helm of Saint-14).

Maybe have a couple of Ornaments, with each member of the Vangard (and Osiris) paying respects by offering a cool motif for the weapon. Like a sweet Egyptian-themed makeover to Osiris, bland "Vangard VII" paintjob for Zavala, tufts of fur and warpaint for Shaxx and Saladin, etc.

Either way; that's honestly something that would get me excited.

Bungie if you're removing one-two Peregrine combo, at least give most if not of all of that damage to THUNDERCRASH

    Posted: 17 Oct 2019 05:05 PM PDT

Please Thundercrash needs a buff to be stronger than nova and close to nighthawk golden gun. It literally throws a titan to the face of their target which is a risk compared to the other 2 burst supers I mentioned. It doesnt even have to be as powerful as those, but at least ALMOST as powerful.

    PLEASE BUFF THUNDERCRASH

Really Bungie? No Nightfall exclusive loot for The Scarlet Keep??

    Posted: 17 Oct 2019 08:35 PM PDT

How? How is there no Nightfall exclusive loot for this strike when Refashioned Shapes AND Blood Runner literally fucking exist in the game, with Refashioned Shapes being sold in Eververse right now while Blood Runner was last week?

(It's a rhetorical question I know the answer is "$$$" but I'm mad and had to make this post anyway)

Snipers, a Love Story. Or, a Beginners Guide to Making Hoes Mad in D2

    Posted: 17 Oct 2019 06:19 PM PDT

Hey there new light guardian! Do you want to dome people from anywhere in the crucible? Do you want to get back at every hobgoblin, vandal, and cyclops? Do you want a bigger pp? Do you want to be cool? Well, I have just the thing for you, itʼs called sniping, its an art, its science.

CH 1: An incomprehensive and hungover guide to sniper rifles

72 rpm is truth! 140 rpm is justice!

Snipers are like preferences. Some of us like a thicc and juicy 72 rpm that hits like a titan that ate 2 crayons instead of one. Some of us like the well-rounded, modest, and dependable 90 rpm that handles with the grace of a floofy warlock mid flight. But most snipers prefer the petite and slim 140 rpm snipers, light enough to pick up with one arm and tuck in at night but an absolute demon when handled correctly.

    Be a hipster

There is only 1 sniper you should ever use, all others are trash, and this sniper is farmable too, it has the best stats and perks out of all snipers. Itʼs name is the "Whatever Sniper you Fucking Hit Your Shots With". Disregarding supers and pve, all snipers do the same thing; kill an opponent with one shot instantly from technically any distance.

Donʼt force yourself to use a sniper you donʼt like: If twilight oathʼs scope makes you vomit, donʼt use it, if the beloved feels too sluggish, donʼt use it, heck if you think the bite of the fox looks fuck-all ugly, donʼt use it!

    Narrowing it down

Picking a sniper is definitely up to your own preferences, BUT, snipers all have different utility in and out of the crucible and this needs to be considered. Do you want a sniper that DESTROYS supers with SKILL and PRECISION? Do you want a sniper that beats on raid bosses harder than my dad beats me? Or do you simply want to have fun by aligning the stars correctly and raining 1 shot body shots down on an unsuspecting classic mix lobby?

Additionally, the choice of a kinetic or energy sniper matters too, more so in pve than pvp. For instance, energy snipers are good against shields but maybe you want to use an exotic in that slot. Synergy is absolutely key here. You want to be able to find the fries to your burger, the sea salt to your chocolate, the depression to your anxiety.

To put it nice and simply; pick a sniper that feels good, does a thing well, and works for your build.

    Nice and Perky

Once you find a sniper or two that you want to try, there are a few stats and random rolls that should be kept in mind.

    Stats that matter most

    • Handling- Makes you scope in and out of your sniper faster. This is SUPER important for pvp since having a head start on your opponents can mean the difference between life or death in 99% of engagements.
    • Range- Seems stupid to give the almost infinite range weapon more range, but this greatly increases bullet magnetism on M&K and controller, and aim assist on controller.
    • Reload speed- This is more so for pve, but Iʼve been caught reloading in the corner and pelted from the sky by st0mp33s happy hunters too many times to count. Reload helps but shouldnʼt be a priority.
    • Zoom value- Zoom affects your peripheral vision and the magnification of the scope. The lower the zoom the more field of vision you have which helps prevent tunnel vision or dying to something you didnʼt see.

Such random rolls Lol XD Rawr (please kill me)

For pvp and pve there are a few non-unique random perks that are much a must-have due to how good they are.

    • Snapshot sights- Pretty much gives you maximum handling speed, like being able to blink in between blinking, absolutely god tier.
    • QuickDraw- If snapshot sights were the hot older sister with the Mona Lisa face that moonlights as a supermodel; then quickdraw is the younger sister that is the star of the swim team. QuickDraw gives you handling almost on par with snapshot sights but allows you to swap weapons faster than you can close your incognito tab. A very good substitute for snapshot sights.
    • Triple tap/ fourth times the charm- This is for PvE Works best for 90 rpm snipers. In combination with a backup mag mod and extended/ tactical mag will allow you to shoot 10 times without reloading for triple tap and 11 times for fourth times the charm assuming you donʼt miss.

    Honorable mentions

    • Opening shot- makes the first bullet you fire extra sticky and the hitbox extra thicc.
    • Moving target- lets you strife faster while scoped in and be more accurate while doing so.
    • Box breathing Increases crit damage for one bullet after staying scoped in for a second and a half, very good against supers.

    Shtatishkkally speekihng...

If you still donʼt know what sniper to pick, or if you are a numbersexual that wants to know the actual best snipers based on stats and perk combinations, here is a list that might help.

    • Best zoom value (pvp): Twilight Oath and Revoker have the lowest at 35
    • Best legendary dps, overall and energy slot: Sole survivor: 4th Times the charm, Firing line, extended/ tactical mag, backup mag mod.
    • Best legendary dps kinetic slot: Tranquility: 4th times the charm, field prep/ autoloading holster. extended/ tactical mag, backup mag mod.
    • Best exotic sniper: Izanagiʼs burden (is part of the best dps build in the current sandbox, can body shot almost all supers with catalyst, can headshot all supers).

CH 2: Brief guide to becoming space Rambo

There are few tricks of the trade in and out of the crucible, and Iʼll be covering the most basic tips my smooth-brain can remember.

    PvP

    • DONʼT DOUBLE PEAK, Unless you know 100% they have no way of hitting you back from the current range, which is only about 3% of engagements.
    • Never assume youʼre the only sniper. Treat every hallway, corner, sightline, gap in the walls, and urinal stall like thereʼs a laneing Larry ready to ruin your day. So slide around those corners like itʼs Tokyo Drift.
    • Flinch is your enemy, kinda, ok yes it is. Flinch will kill you 95% of the time unless you get lucky or time the scope sway. Recognizing that you are being flinched, or how you might get flinched separates the boys from the men, the girls from the women, the its from the theys. Avoid placing yourself in a situation where you can get flinched or reduce the time in that situation, cowardice is a viable option.
    • If you feel like you have the aim of a highschool boy in a public bathroom, take a break. About half an hour or until your next session. The brain is better at making corrections and adjusting when you remove yourself from the task briefly.

    PvE

    • Snipe in the crucible while you unlock those weekly engrams, do iron banner, etc. Seriously, it will do WONDERS for your aim since PvE targets are generally much easier to hit, except wizards and taken, they duck dive and teleport like hunters after snorting a row of illegally smuggled wormspore.
    • Snipe in lower-level activities such as strikes first and then graduate to harder activities.

    Closing remarks

I hope this brief guide was anywhere near as helpful as it was fun for me to write. Sniping is the most fun I have in D2 and with the shadowkeep sniper buff I couldn't have been more excited to finally justify all those god rolls I sold my soul to acquire. The beauty in sniping is how personal each rifle is, they're all my darlings and I have fond memories with each. I don't think you can get the same feeling from any other weapon type.

Eyes up guardians, and pop em in the noggin.

edit, tranquility can roll with 4th times the charm and which gives it higher dps than long shadow

Would be cool if some exotic weapon ornaments were tied purely to using the weapon an insane amount and completing certain challenges with it to be rewarded the ornament

    Posted: 17 Oct 2019 07:28 AM PDT

I'm not saying to do this to every ornament in the game, obviously bungie needs to make money from eververse, especially now.

But I'm a sucker for earnable cosmetics and would love to unlock ornaments through a long ass grind, also would add prestige to some ornaments.

How long has the Darkness been fooling everyone?

    Posted: 17 Oct 2019 08:17 AM PDT

All this time, the Pyramid has been on the Moon, and no one knew about it.

But how long was it there? Almost everyone thinks it was left there by the Darkness right after the Collapse, but how do we know it wasn't left there before the Traveler came to the system? After all, the Traveller was caught off guard by how quickly the Darkness showed up. Is it because the Darkness always knew it (she?) would go to Earth? How does the Darkness know about Creation and the Fall? How does it know so much about our history? Has the Darkness been to Earth before? Was it there at our beginning?

Crota knew the Traveler was on Earth, but did he know the Pyramid was on the Moon? Did the Pyramid call Crota to the Moon? Is that the reason why Crota and his brood went specifically to the Moon? And if it is, why didn't they build the Scarlet Keep sooner? There was quite a while before Humanity realised the Hive were even on the Moon. So did Crota not know about the Pyramid on the Moon? And what about Oryx? The only time Oryx went to the Moon in any capacity was for that funeral for his son. So did even Oryx not know? And if he did, why didn't he go to the Moon and build the Scarlet Keep himself? Or try to 'wake' the Pyramid? Were Xol and Nokris unaware of the Pyramid? Did the Pyramid call them to Mars? If the Pyramid hid itself from those who serve it, why did it reveal itself now?

Is this the reason why the rest of the Darkness is taking its sweet time? Because its been here all along? Does it only need one Pyramid? Did the Black Heart want you to destroy it? Destroying the Black Heart led to Light returning to the Traveler, and so the reawakening of Crota, which led to you permanently destroying him, which led to Oryx coming to the system and you permanently destroying him. Did the Darkness know all of this would happen as a result of destroying the Black Heart? Did it want all of this to happen? Have we been playing snakes and ladders while the Darkness is playing 4D chess?

Was the Traveler really the reason the Vex came to the system? Or was it the call of the Pyramid? Does the Pyramid want the Vex to take control of the Moon? Did the Black Garden first belong to the Vex? Or to the Darkness? If the Darkness made the Black Garden, what was the life in the Garden that asked the question? And if the Vex made themselves the answer, that means the Exo Stranger and Osiris were right. That the Vex are the evil so dark it despises other evil. Are the Vex the real endgame of the Darkness? Were they always the answer? And if they were, why the Hive? Is the Darkness only using the Hive for fun? Was the Darkness always going to replace them with the Vex? Is replace even the right word? The Vex technically came before the Hive didn't they? And if they didn't, they would have travelled back in time to make it so they came before right?

Who is the Veiled Woman? Is she the Darkness? Why is she in the Pyramid? Why does she stand in the Black Garden? Is the Garden hers? Was it always hers? Was she the life in the Garden that asked the question the Vex answered? Does the Sanctified Mind protect her? Like the Sol Progeny protected the Black Heart? Why is she all I dream of? Why is she so voluptu-- no, why is she so bootyliciously T H I C C?

Most concerning of all, how can it be that whether we wanted it or not, we've stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let's get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta'aurc. From what I can gather he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defenses, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold.

Bungie is still refusing to support players who cannot access their Shadowkeep Seasons Pass

    Posted: 17 Oct 2019 07:40 AM PDT

I hope this post gains traction and/or someone may be able to help, because I know I am not the only player experiencing this issue.

A little background about the issue: I, along with many other guardians, purchased the $60 Shadow Keep package that came with the Seasons Pass. I set up my PC Move before the Steam migration and verified again that it was set up before launching the game on release day. When I logged in, my characters were missing. So I restarted the game, my characters came over, and when I logged in I did not have my seasons pass. They released a fix for those who had this issue with Cross-Save, but it did not work in my scenario for PC Move.

I have posted all over the forums to no avail. I also have an open ticket with Bungie, who so far, has sent two responses. The first was a copy and paste of their message about the hotfix for Cross-Save. It's like they didn't even read my message that I used PC Move. Then, after I told them it did not rectify my issue, 8 days later they issued this response: "From time-to-time we may issue another fix, but I'm not sure when that will happen. You can find your Season Pass on your other characters if you ever choose to log in with them."

Mind you, I have supplied several screenshots that prove my successful purchase, showing that the content is downloaded and accessible via Steam, that I can no longer refund because of the amount I have played, and that the licenses are not applied on my account via the Bungie website. I explained that I will not ever be logging into my other characters because they do not exist. I have not even made a single character on my other account, and will not.

I am reaching out to other Guardians to confirm that others are experiencing this issue. Bungie is not helpful at all, and I'm sure they will be losing some long-time supporters if they do not acknowledge that they are working on a fix.

I'm severely disappointed in the way this has been handled and hope that they do something soon because I was very excited about the direction they chose to head with Shadowkeep.

Revert the changes to Breakneck and Redrix’s Broadsword

    Posted: 17 Oct 2019 02:28 AM PDT

These changes were so unnecessary, you completely killed any fighting chance either of these weapons had. I can't think of a single time where either of these two guns were meta and now, they have no place at all in this current sandbox. These changes NEED to be reverted.

Edit: the changes were PvE only, these weapons remained unchanged in PvP.

Edit 2: Since I'm seeing a lot of questions about the changes, I'll go over them here. The changes made it so their damage is reduced when their fire rate increases. In Breakneck's case, it's fire rate goes up from 450rpm, 600rpm to 720rpm, before the changes, it's damage would stay at that of a 450, but now, it's damage will match one of a 600 rpm and a 720 rpm as it's own fire rate increases.

Content Proposal; Let Saladin sell old IB armor as ornaments via special engrams like in Rise of Iron.

    Posted: 17 Oct 2019 12:30 PM PDT

So for some background real quick, in Destiny 1 during the Rise of Iron DLC Lord Saladin sold engrams that contained Y1 and Y2 iron banner armor, my proposal is simple because of it, allow either Shaxx or Saladin to sell the old "dusty iron engrams" of yore offering Y1/Y2 iron banner armor as override ornaments for our current legendary armor. The price of these engrams would either be bright dust or say maybe 30 IB or 50 Crucible tokens per roll of the engram? (i cant really decide personally on a price so i'd like to leave it open to discussion)

There were some great designs in the past and sadly given we cant pull armor 2.0 from collection nor can we pull old armor with randomized perks (i'd argue we should just be able to pull basic 2.0 no perks of any armor from collections but i digress) i think this would be a perfect low development/quick deployment way to reintroduce the old IB armors to new players while keeping old physical copies prestigious items for vets to show off in the tower/farm

Furthermore, i'd also like for this to be applied to old vanguard/ikora/planetary gear where if you've received an armor 2.0 set of the gear it may be set as an armor override but for now i'd be happy with just the iron banner armor.

Don't play PvP modes with level advantage enabled if you are then gonna complain how unfair it is!

    Posted: 17 Oct 2019 02:37 PM PDT

IB has had level advantage since forever. It's stated on screen when you select the mode.

If you agree to play knowing you are at a lower light level than others, expect it to be harder and if that's a problem play another mode.

Posting a complaint after agreeing to go in at a disadvantage and asking for level advantage to be removed isn't going to do anything other than attract negative comments...rightly so.

Been under makes those win streaks so much more satisfying especially if your team is under levelled.

These matches are winnable if you all play the objective even when the opposing team are higher levelled than yours.

Finishers on despawning enemies kill you

    Posted: 17 Oct 2019 04:29 PM PDT

I've had this happen a few times, but I finally got a good clip of it: https://imgur.com/a/bjht5Yh. Apparently finishers demand blood, and if your target disappears mid-finisher it'll just kill you instead. It's mostly an issue in Gambit, because enemies despawn very quickly after the bank is filled.

Hey Bungie it would be reaaaallyyyy nice if we actually got to save someone for once...

    Posted: 17 Oct 2019 10:46 AM PDT

And I have the perfect candidate!

But before that let's just go over our most notable rescue missions

Taeko-3 and her squad of nine..... Yeaaaaaaaa

    Praedyth.... Yeaaaaaaaa

Saint-14.... I mean technically not dead or alive. He's a perfect paradox if you will. But at the time we found him he was dead.

Cayde...... He was sure we'd get there in time.... We didn't :(

Edit: Also Tevis.... Literally died right before we got to him (credit to u/Ultimatetoa)

We can slay gods and dragons and take on whole armies but we kinda suck at saving just one person. But according to your own lore books.... We may have another chance at saving one of those people...

If you've completed the "Aspect" lore books which you get from killing Vex, you'll see that Praedyth is still trying to escape the Vex with the help of the still exsisting copies of the Ishtar Collective team lead by Maya Sundaresh!

Bungie you're great at handing out cruel fates to guardians in the lore, but please let us save someone for once! The fates of the first VOG fire team were cruel. Pahanin escaped but got PTSD and was then murdered. Kabr got Vex'd. And Praedyth was lost in time but we have a chance to save him!

Bungie we are the Young Wolf, The Slayer of Oryx, and Hero Of The Red War..... We always save the many... Please let us save the few.

Hot take: The best Exotic Quests are the ones that don’t hold your hand

    Posted: 17 Oct 2019 08:22 PM PDT

The Whisper, Wish-Ender (to a degree), Outbreak Perfected, Divinity, etc. - my personal favourite type of Exotic Quests for a few reasons:

    1. They do not tell you where you need to go or what to do, or they require you to deduce them to find out where to go (Outbreak Quest)

    2. Any Missions, Strikes, Quests, Raids, etc. they are involved in do not hold your hand, either

    3. They are challenging, even with all of your best gear

    4. Some of them have fun secrets (Heroic Whisper Chests & Oracle Puzzle, Heroic Zero Hour Puzzle)

    5. The weapons that are rewarded at the end are arguably the most unique weapons in Destiny history

Desperado is now just a worse Kill Clip.

    Posted: 17 Oct 2019 09:09 AM PDT

This morning I did some basic testing with Redrix's Broadsword, on the Tribute Hall. All weapons were 750, so damage was normalized. This was the result:

Weapon Rate of Fire Archetype Crit Damage Damage w/ Kill Clip DPS DPS w/ KC
    Outlast 540 Rapid-Fire 478 637 4302 5733
    Chattering Bone 450 Lightweight 498 664 3735 4980
    Go Figure 450 Aggressive-Burst 529 705 3968 5288
    Bygones 390 Adaptive 613 817 3985 5311
    Eystein-D 340 High-Impact 678 903 4068 5418

Outlast is an Energy weapon, so I had to add the 5% damage buff that Kinetics get in order show a direct comparison with all other archetypes. I didn't have any Kinetic 540s, and none of them has Kill Clip, so I had to calculate the additional 33% buff that Kill Clip now provides. So here are the nerfed Desperado/Redrix's numbers:

Weapon Rate of Fire Archetype Crit Damage DPS
    Redrix's Broadsword 340 High-Impact 678 4068
    Redrix's Broadsword (Desperado active) 600 High-Impact 542 5420

So the rate of fire goes up 66%, but the damage goes down by ~25%. So we get a net buff of ~33%. This is almost exactly the same buff as Kill Clip. This makes Redrix worse than all High-Impact frames because there is no trade-off when Desperado is active. It's only eats up your ammo to do generally the exact same DPS that all other High-Impacts do. Hell even a theoretical Kinetic, Rapid-Hit, Kill Clip Pulse would be leagues better.

I understand that Redrix's is supposed to be a PvP pinnacle weapon, but it has absolutely zero utility in PvE. NONE.

Edit: I also forgot to mention that my Chattering Bone KC number is also calculated since it doesn't roll with KC.

    LOSE IT.

I miss the old engrams where you actually got stuff from the current season.

I hope the portal Ikora is building let us go to the past and make the Red Legion kill Eververse... a hundred of thousand times in different realities.

    Modmail Discussion:

u/At this point, it feels like half of all first-page posts are about the lack of a loot refresh, what to do about it, or just general complaints about it. It's been this way since Shadowkeep dropped, with a brief break during the world's first raid race. It's drowning out other legitimate issues and at this point no post being made contributes any new information. It was honestly difficult to find a post older than five days because of the numbers of posts in the last 24 hours alone.

    Examples given: 1, 2, 3

    Criteria Used:

"...3 examples (with links) of recent submissions (with at least 1 being over 5 days old), that have been well received (hundreds of upvotes on the front page of the sub - ex. 300+ upvotes)."

Can't Get Izanagi's? Farm Tranquility for Firing Line

    Posted: 17 Oct 2019 08:10 AM PDT

    Hi all,

So a decent % of people can't get Izanagi's Burden right now, as the quest is bugged. IB is great in the new raid, so I understand the frustration of not being able to access the gun.

If you have Shadowkeep (I'm assuming you do), you should farm for "Tranquility" -- the new sniper from Eris Morn on the moon.

Tranquility can roll with Firing Line: damage increased when near 2+ allies. This is great for any encounter when you'll be huddled with your team.

Tranquility can ALSO roll with auto loading holster, and that's where it comes in great. If you can get an Auto Loading + Firing Line Tranquility roll, you'll be able to put out a respectable amount of damage.

Shoot your 4 shots into the target, switch to another DPS weapon (preferably also one with auto-load), and then switch back. It's a good synergy loop that can help overcome the lack of Izanagi's Burden.

    Hope this helps!

The older seasons of armor for Iron Banner need to be ornaments for the new armor. I really liked the past armor styles!!
