Bungie, you disbaled Telesto. Can you disable One Eyed Mask? It is bugged in Comp. Titan's are not able to un-equip it for some reason.

    Posted: 20 Oct 2019 04:55 PM PDT

    this is satire obviously

i cant believe they nerfed telesto instantly but have left OEM alone for MONTHS

the nerfs can't come soon enough

I think Xur should start selling exotic ornaments

    Posted: 20 Oct 2019 10:22 AM PDT

Now, this probably won't ever go into fruition but I just thought it was a good idea. I think every week Xur should sell an exotic ornament for a certain weapon. But that's not all. I think there should be some objectives to unlocking it too, rather than just being able to buy it for something like 35 shards. Like, let's say Xur is selling an ornament for Bad Juju. Some objectives to unlocking the ornament after purchase could be like "get x amount of multikills with String of Curses x5 " or "get x amount of kills without reloading." I just think something like this would be cool since it would actually feel rewarding to get the ornaments instead of just cashing out for them. What're your thoughts on something like this?

For the love of god Bungie, PLEASE add a giant message before every Nightfall: The Ordeal strike that says: "YOU NEED TO KILL ALL CHAMPIONS IN ORDER TO GET REWARDS"

    Posted: 20 Oct 2019 11:23 AM PDT

If you didn't know already, you will not get ANY rewards from a Nightfall Ordeal strike unless you kill ALL champions on the map, meaning if you miss one, then you are screwed. If the kinderguardian on your team races ahead to the next checkpoint and despawns the champion you are trying to kill, then you are screwed.

9/10 times I play with people who skip most of the champions in order to get the strike done faster. THIS IS A PROBLEM, AND IT IS NOT THE PLAYERS FAULT. NOWHERE in game does it ever state that you must kill every champion to get your rewards (exotics, enhancement prisms, etc).

Before I get the usual group of people commenting "just Google it" or "we all had to figure it out on our own" you must realise that this effects EVERYBODY. The people who don't know to kill champions ruin the game for the other 2 people in the fireteam, and "just Googleing it" should NEVER be the only way to figure out how a basic game mechanic works.

But who am I kidding, with Bungie's "just figure everything out yourself lmao" approach to teaching New Light players, the best case scenario we will get is a comment by a dev saying "it has been passed on to the team" and never seeing any real change.

Honestly, I just want heavy out of comp entirely at this point.

    Posted: 20 Oct 2019 02:58 PM PDT

Tldr: Heavy bad, actual gun and movement skill good

Edit: Ok so this gained a lot of traction. Way more than I expected at least. Just want to put it up here at the top that multiple people have suggested one spawn per game in the middle round as a compromise. I'm totally on board with that as it offers a nice potential turning point to the match.

However, people have already brought up that teams would just camp after gaining life advantage, which is a valid point. To that I say make it like D1 trials where a zone spawns to be capped and you can't win by life advantage.

The entire match is decided by whoever gets it first. If you fail the initial fight to control it at the beginning the round is basically over. It's near impossible to come back from, especially when it's always some idiot camping in the back with a hammerhead that has nearly 50 rounds. It's simplifies the game soooooo much it's ridiculous. Crucible in general is a lot more fun without heavy ammo in my opinion, but I know taking it out of every playlist would upset a lot of people so I'm fine with it staying in non-competitive playlists. Even then, I feel like it should work as it did in D1 though so it's not spawning like 4 times per game.

    end rant

Bungie: All previous Iron Banner sets should become ornaments.

    Posted: 20 Oct 2019 08:38 PM PDT

We're grinding out a whole new set, yet again, but then all previous sets become invalid now since we want armor 2.0 version. Ornaments from previous seasons were added as armor 2.0 ornaments, but not the previous set.

For the love of everything that's holy, make the chat ON by default Bungie

    Posted: 20 Oct 2019 07:32 AM PDT

Seriously. In a game that is so damn oriented on PvE co-op content having chat OFF by default is fucking idiotic. Prime example is the Nightfall, people blaze past the champions not realizing that you NEED to kill them all for the chance to get the best loot. They just rush to the end and you can't tell them cause most people don't know the chat is off by default.

This also leads to another issue where everything in the game is explained half assed but that's for another time.

Edit: To clarify, I am talking about the TEXT chat, NOT voice chat.

Edit2: Thanks for the gold, kind Redditor!

Thanks to the Sherpa that didn't give up on us.

    Posted: 20 Oct 2019 02:18 AM PDT

We started at the boss cp for the GoS raid. We LFG for 3 players and one of them has 4 clears.

He taught us why not to kill the hydra too fast and the tether strategy.

We were at the boss encounter for 4 hours. When every time we failed, he gives an assuring voice is that we are doing fine.

Several times we brought the health of the boss to 5% and we wipe.

He never blame us but just encouraging us to do better.

I was the one who is angry at myself where I died so many times and even start to doze off.

The moment the boss died, the whole team cheered and thanking the Sherpa profusely. He even thanked us for not giving up on him.

    Thank you Grandkiller2780.

Thank you for believing in us.

Inventory Management with Armor 2.0 Feels Like A Sudoku Puzzle

    Posted: 20 Oct 2019 11:27 AM PDT

Balancing stats, element affinities, mods, seasonal mod slots and aesthetics feels like I'm trying to solve a 5x10 Sudoku puzzle.

Not complaining, I'm enjoying the grind. It is just daunting trying to keep everything sorted. I'm about to break out a pen and paper to try and map stuff out. lmao

Thank You Bungie for making Destiny 2 free to play.

    Posted: 20 Oct 2019 05:37 AM PDT

As someone that has been struggling with depression and mental health issues and stress in my life. destiny 2 is the perfect game to distract myself from my hardships. its such a great game. i dont get to play very many video games so ive always stuck to free to play ones. this game is just so different from what ive played. i enjoyed playing through the free to play DLC and story. I just got the recluse last night and wow it felt good to earn that. last Thursday i got the whisper of the worm weapon that felt so damn frustrating but so rewarding to get. now im doing iron banner and trying to get god rolls on all the weapons and doing crucible bounties. i feel like im spoiled. this game doesnt feel like a typical free to play game. most games are balanced around a cash shop that makes you spend money so you can get things faster. it sucks i can't get the dlc BUT i don't feel like i HAVE to get it. theres so much content in the game for free.

so i just want to say thank you Bungie for making an amazing game free to play and if i had the money id buy the expansions and support the company. have a great day/evening everyone.

oh and if you know any other cool/interesting weapons to get let me know! im trying my best to farm for exotics as we speak!

one more thing! you guys have the best content creators out of any game ive played. so many great streamers and youtubers!

I'm never going to the moon with Eris again

    Posted: 20 Oct 2019 01:49 AM PDT

I just spent my whole afternoon trying to get me and Eris into some night club on the moon. First it was one thing, then I had to steal a door pass, then I needed a specific outfit, which made my legs look terrible by the way, and then after all that, when I finally get in there, the place is practically a ghost town and I end up getting cat-fished by some psycho. I was barely in there for 15 minutes before I was running for the door. Next time Eris wants to make plans I am choosing the place.

Breakdown of the Nightmare Mods (Banisher, Breaker, and Crusher) and their Normal/Enhanced/Supreme Benefits

    Posted: 20 Oct 2019 02:01 PM PDT

As a pretext, some of which you may have seen before, I have developed a Spreadsheet which lists all damage Modifiers in Destiny 2. My most recent sheet version has just went live with lists the last few remaining Shadowkeep/Undying Modifiers which weren't present/not possible to be tested during week 1 of Shadowkeep. The final section of my testing had me gathering data for the Nightmare Mods - a plethora of different, unique, and quite powerful Mods which can be farmed in the Nightmare Hunts - and they have THREE tiers - and can be slotted into your Season 8 Armour.

You can see more on my spreadsheet located here (although the main point of this post isn't to discuss my spreadsheet as I have previous posts regarding this):

    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1i1KUwgVkd8qhwYj481gkV9sZNJQCE-C3Q-dpQutPCi4

As I was testing them I thought I would share my insights, data, and findings as these Mods have some unique properties that nobody seems to have really discovered on their own (perhaps for some obvious reasons which I'll state further below this post). Any way, onto some delicious data:

    Nightmare Mods, Benefits & Data

    General

    • Can be found on Nightmare Hunts
    • Higher difficulty Hunts will drop higher tiers
    • The three Mods are as follows: Banisher, Breaker, and Crusher (more info below)
    • Each Mod are bound to the following element affinity, respectively: Arc, Solar, and Void
    • The three Tiers are as follows: Normal, Enhanced, and Supreme
    • Each Tier costs 1, 2, and 3 respectively to slot into Season 8 Armour only; can be slotted on any piece of gear
    • Same-type Mods do not stack with themselves or their higher benefits, but you can use different type of Mods (i.e. you can't have a Normal and Enhanced Banisher, can have a Normal Banisher and a Normal Breaker)
    • These Mods only work in Nightmare Hunts (so far) and against the Boss only (not the minions that spawn); regular Patrol and Lost Sector Nightmares are not affected
    • Mods, in general, do stack with other Buffs/Debuffs/etc

    Nightmare Banisher

"Grants additional damage to your Super against Nightmare bosses"

    • Bound to Arc Gear Affinity
    • Normal Benefit - 66% Damage increase
    • Enhanced Benefit - 133% Damage increase
    • Supreme Benefit - 200% Damage increase

    Nightmare Breaker

"Grants additional damage against enemy shields created by Nightmare bosses"

    • Bound to Solar Gear Affinity
    • "Enemy shields" are created when the Nightmare Boss enters its immune phase and casts all nearby enemies with a Solar shield
    • Shooting at said enemy shields with Mod active will increase your Damage
    • Normal Benefit - 66% Damage increase
    • Enhanced Benefit - 133% Damage increase
    • Supreme Benefit - 200% Damage increase

    Nightmare Crusher

"Grants additional damage to your melee and grenade abilities against Nightmare bosses"

    • Bound to Void Gear Affinity
    • Effects any standard Melee, Melee ability and Grenades (regardless of Element)
    • Normal Benefit - 50% Damage increase
    • Enhanced Benefit - 100% Damage increase
    • Supreme Benefit - 150% Damage increase

    Author Thoughts

While these are pretty potent Buffs (and they are active constantly), I feel like they have limited utility. Initially I thought these Mods would be at the very bare minimum effect all Nightmare Bosses (i.e. those that spawn in Patrols and redux Lost Sectors) but they have zero effect on them.

Master Difficulty has yet to be released at the time of writing this but, at this point - of which I'm welcome to be proven wrong - I feel like there is no incentive to play the Master Difficulty Nightmare Hunt other than for Triumphs and Seasonal-content completions.

While Nightfall: The Ordeal has been a resounding success as it balances challenge vs. (repeated) reward, I feel like Nightmare Hunts have not had the same treatment with no exclusive gear or end-game materials attached to these Hunts. The assumption, for me anyway, that each Hunt would have 1 fancy gear to chase after for the perfect roll.

Again I could be proven wrong by the fact Master difficulty is yet to be released (which could provide a healthy reward, like a Pinnacle) or even the fact the new Dungeon could all be Nightmares which are effected by these Mods. We'll find out in due time, but presently while these Mods are powerful Mods, they aren't attached to an activity which provides good rewards so feel a bit thrown in.

TL;DR - Banisher, Breaker, and Crusher Mods are found in Nightmares - with higher Difficulties providing higher Tiers - and provide pretty powerful Buffs towards Super, Shield-break, and Melee/Grenade abilities respectively. However they are useful only in the same activity you farm them in, and have zero effect outside said activity, which doesn't come close to a having a good reward system, like the new Nightfall: The Ordeal activity.

Appreciate your time reading this, and big love to those who have been using my Damage Modifier Catalogue for referencing - I've seen this out in the wild and it's very gratifying. If you missed it, you can check out all current, previous, and archived Damage Modifiers, Global Buffs/Debuffs, and more over here:

Starter list of weapons to farm for!

    Posted: 20 Oct 2019 08:57 AM PDT

Wrote this for a daily question, thought it might be useful here too. The specific perks (esp on pvp weps) are for pc but wont differ too much for console, and they are just the ideal combination. If you dont quite get them but are very close that's okay too!

    Key guns:

    PvE:

    Primary weapons:

    • A hand cannon with rampage and outlaw (austringer from menagerie is a good one to farm)

    • A pulse rifle with rampage and outlaw/feeding frenzy (blast furnace from black armoury is good to farm)

    • Recluse the best pve primary in the game, but requires getting to fabled in competetive pvp.

    • outbreak perfected, special exotic quest. Best to look up guide

    Special weapons:

    • Loaded question (vanguard fusion rifle quest)

    • Izanagis burden (black armoury sniper rifle exotic quest)

    • a shotgun with trench barrel or one two punch as it's damage perk (not as essential) (Imperial decree is a good one to farm)

    • a sniper with snapshot sights/quickdraw (easier to use). Agressive frames are best because they have higher impact damage, which is nicer in pve

    Heavy weapons:

    • Hammerhead (black armoury forge), look for feeding frenzy rampage

    • whisper of the worm (exotic special mission on Io

    • a grenade launcher with spike grenades perk, the one from eris' on the moon is good to farm

    • wendigo is also a great grenade launcher from vanguard grenade launcher quest

    Pvp:

    Primary:

    Hc -Ace of spades

Hc- austringer (hammer forged rifiling, accurized rounds, eye of the storm + rangefinder, range masterwork)

Hc- spare rations (hammer forged rifiling, accurized rounds/ricochet rounds, rapid hit, kill clip, range mw)

Pulse- blast furnace (myerin rds, accurized rounds, feeding frenzy, kill clip, range mw)

Pulse- claws of the wolf (hammer forged rifling, accurized, outlaw, kill clip, range mw)

    Special:

Shotgun- aggressive frame with (full choke, accurized rounds, quickdraw/snapshot sights, slideshot (but lots of perks work for the second perk), range mw)

Fusion rifle- erentil fr4 (torch hs3, particle repeater/projection fuse, auto-loading holster, back up plan, range/stability mw)

Sniper- either a rapid fire or an aggressive frame sniper with (fluted barrel/hammer forged rifiling, accurized rounds, snapshot/quickdraw, (lots of good options for second perk), range/handling mw)

    Heavy:

Hammerhead- fluted barrel, ap rounds/hc rounds, feeding frenzy, rampage

    Tractor cannon

    Truth

    Wardliff coil

    Play of the game

There are heaps more but this is a good list to start with, and if you get all these you'll be able to have a decent loadout for most content in the game!

I’d like to report unsafe working conditions in the Tower

    Posted: 20 Oct 2019 06:46 AM PDT

    https://i.imgur.com/bDnXabd.jpg

There is some construction going on in the Tower, and I couldn't help but notice some frankly concerning worker conditions and safety violations. Like this guy right here:

    • No fall protection. He is working on a narrow I-beam at vertigo inducing heights, with no fall protection harness or safety lanyard to speak of. Guardians fling themselves from the Tower because they have Ghosts to revive them or transmat them to safety before they paint the city streets below. City workers do not have the luxury of immortality.
    • No face shield, goggles, or gloves. I don't even know where to start with this one. Dude's staring right at the welding arc. Welding with his bare hands right next to the work. Welding above his head, with a spray of sparks and slags falling right onto his unprotected face.
    • No Fire Watch, no fire extinguishers. I'm just glad they at least had 35 feet of working space cleared of flammable material.

If it was a Guardian, or even a frame, it would be a little different. But this is just not good.

Ok, hear me out. A pinnacle or raid LMG where the roll is triple tap and 4th times the charm.

    TIL: I'm an idiot!

    Posted: 20 Oct 2019 07:52 AM PDT

I've been playing this game for a long tome. Like.. a really long time. I've got the Grimoire and vol 2 on its way from the shop.

I'm the guy my friends ask whenever they're confused with the game. I did a long list of mods and CDs back in Forsaken, just for fun and I exhaust every content-creator outlet there is.

Anyway. Now that we've established my unhealthy relationship with the game, let us proceed.

So. You know those stats on armour? Yeh, int, disc, etc.. those.

An hour ago, after dismantling an obscene amount of "Good but not quite as good as what I have" armour I've only just come to realize that stat-mods inflate the stat ratings of gear. E.g., my crown jewel.. a 69 helmet is, in fact, a 59'er with a recovery mod. Turns out, my shit isn't 60+ at all. I've been donning 50-53 gear with mods (e.g. 60-63), all the while, religiously dismantling "inferior rolls in their meager 58-60 range".

TL;DR - Mods add +10 stats to gear. Check your rolls!!

WotM had the best raid loot system in D1 and it would be the best system now too

    Posted: 20 Oct 2019 06:14 PM PDT

In Wrath of the Machine we got one drop from each encounter and then about 3 (I think) key fragments. And then each chest gave key fragments along with a non powerful drop. With 10 key fragments you could then craft a key. This key could then be used to open an extra chest at the end of any encounter in the raid to give you an extra drop from that same encounter. This was significant because certain pieces were locked to certain encounters, so if you were missing a shotgun or chest piece you could save your key for the appropriate encounter and then have an extra chance at getting what you need if you didn't get it. Along with that if you ran the raid again and had another key you could open the extra chest again. The only limits on how many times you could open that chest were how many times you were willing to run the raid and how many keys you had. On top of all that if you weren't missing anything you could use key fragments on raid armor to reroll your stats.

Over the past year this hasn't been as needed I suppose since every encounter could drop anything, but now with garden of salvation certain armor and weapons are locked to certain encounters again. I think that is fine, but now we need something to help us get the pieces we still need, and I think bringing this system back would be the best way. I've run this raid about 7 1/2 times with rewards and I am still missing several armor pieces unfortunately.

Now why not tokens and a vendor? Personally I think it's nowhere near as satisfying. It's not enjoyable to me to get some stupid currency from a raid to then go to some NPC to just throw the currency at them for random raid stuff. Not only is it more random than what I suggested i just don't like the idea of getting raid drops outside the raid when it doesn't really feel like I'm earning them. I would rather run the raid over and over again to get a few more drops in the raid then to just do a raid then stop by some vendor and hope he gives me what I want. This isn't even mentioning how the WotM way gave you more choice in what kind of drop you were trying to get which I would prefer as well.

I would also be down for just rerunning the raid and simply getting non-powerful drops, but that's been mentioned before and this is another option that Bungie should consider if they hate that idea. What do you all think?

Warlock armour just gets worse and worse

    Posted: 20 Oct 2019 02:13 AM PDT

I know this sounds dumb to bitch about but it really peeves me. It feels like all the warlock armour is mediocre and insignificant. I frequent r/destinyfashion and every post is just hunters and titans. There's no good setups for warlocks. The only good looking (imo) chestpieces are the eververse one from last season and the nessus duster. Every other chestpiece is some ugly wedding dress shit

I think it can all be traced back to a design decision prior to the release of destiny 2. The gaunlets for warlocks used to cover the entire arm (excluding bond) and shoulder pieces. In D2 the gauntlets only cover up to the elbow and are barely noticeable in customizing your character. Look at Ophidian Aspects in Destiny 1. THAT'S COOL AS FUCK. Now let's uhh look at destiny 2... interesting... Kinda dinky and ruins the style but whatever

It's also nice that Bungie remembered that hunters had afucking sick robot leg in destiny 1 and brought it back in all its glory this season. It's not like warlocks had some too. I guess that's something childish to complain about but it's the only customization option I've been hoping to come back ever since.

I dunno where I'm really going with this and I guess it's just venting my frustrations. Y'know, being able to see all the other classes enjoy their customization options and sick as fuck outfits while Warlocks are stuck with "monk robe 1" through "monk robe 99"

New Light is far and away a super confusing experience even for D1 veterans like me.

    Posted: 20 Oct 2019 01:01 PM PDT

I have countless hours in D1, and have super fond memories of exploring the Cosmodrome in the beta and working towards that high 20 light level so I could play the VoG. Getting my first exotic (Red Death) was super exciting and I'll never forget bringing down Atheon for the first time and eventually getting my hands on a Vex Mythoclast. The progression is what kept me coming back daily, until I put the game down a few months into Taken King due to burnout and I never touched anything Destiny until recently. It has been nearly 4 years.

And the progression in this is an unsatisfying mess. Waking up in the Cosmodrome again and using the Khvostov was cool, up until I checked my inventory and found I had all of my subclasses fully unlocked and I had a light level of 750. Even in the tutorial mission I was finding Rare and Legendary items. I felt like I was already getting endgame loot an hour after I installed the game. I went back to a nearly unrecognizable Tower with no explanation of what happened leading up to this or why Cayde was gone. Who is the Red Legion? Who is Devrim? Why are these Fallen glowing? Where is the Speaker? There's a battle pass in this game? What is Bright Dust? I still don't know how to access the vanilla/DLC campaigns if I still can.

I played some crucible matches with a friend (who was completely new to Destiny and was much more confused than I was) and completed some bounties and had a great time. But when I turned in my bounties, I got my first exotic, The Stag, with less than 4 hours of gameplay. Needless to say it was wholly unsatisfying compared to what I remembered.

I wish there was an option to start off at square one like in the vanilla game so I could work my way up to this point like I had hoped instead being overwhelmed with information like this. I hope Bungie can work something out for this because I'm clearly not alone is this confusion.

Hey Bungie, with all the randomness added to armor, it'd be really just swell if we could get some more of that sweet, sweet bank space

    Posted: 20 Oct 2019 10:22 AM PDT

Title pretty well sums it up. With armor now having a TON of randomness, it would be nice to keep all the high roll armor pieces to compare. But with all the weapon variety, and now the armor variety, I'm running out of that bank space again. If you could just change that bank limit = 500 to a 750 or 1000, that'd be great.
