Garden of Salvation is finally conquered by a deaf fireteam

    Posted: 09 Oct 2019 10:26 AM PDT

    Proof- https://i.imgur.com/FCicJHi.jpg

It took us 35 hours, yes, 35!

We had to shuffle through several players trying to clear it. Such to no avail so we decided to wait till yesterday's weekly reset to push our light above 940 to attempt again and finally, we did it.

We used Zoom (video conferencing software) to communicate with each other and to discuss strategies. Chat is strictly for call-outs only. We did discuss through chat because a teammate doesn't have a secondary monitor to set up for Zoom.

For first encounter- we would split into two groups of three with one to rotate picking up the bomb each (Voltaic Overflow) and the other to clean adds/kill Angelic to set up the tether. Once the wall is disabled, we would rotate roles to allow one team's Voltaic Overflow to expire. We used overload rounds mod on our recluse.

Second encounter- At the first relay, two would stay to help tether to strengthen the Enlightened buff while four move on to the second relay. After the second relay, one would stay with three moving on to the third relay and one from the first relay would become the runner to help set up the tether at both first and second relays. The remaining three would do the same at both third and fourth relays. We would type R1, R2, R3 or R4 if we need to extend the Enlightened buff as well as "help at R#" after Angelic's come to say hi. We stayed at our respective relays until the final relay (in the center) is open and it was a cake. We use anti-barrier rounds for this encounter.

Third encounter- we tried the cheese and it only caused Consecrated mind to start hitting the wall. We didn't successfully get it to drop down so we dropped the cheese and did it legit. Same groups of three with one working on collecting motes for Enlightened buff and one to focus on eyes (inner/outer circles). For those working on eyes, one of us would get the Voltaic Overflow and wait for the eyes to reveal. If the red is in the inner circle, we would type I and O for outer circle. It took us two phases. No Anti-Barrier or Overload rounds were needed for this.

Final encounter- it was truly torture. This is where we spent roughly 20 hours on it. We tried so many different strategies until we finally settled on one that we would stick with it until there's a better one. Four players would split into groups of two rotate collecting motes while two stay to rebuild the grounds. We made couple of references to Portal game because two portals are colored blue (light) and orange (dark). So when we need to rebuild the ground we would say either BL (blue link) or OL (orange link). Mote collectors would start with the blue portal first until 30 motes are deposited then we move on to the orange portal for the final 30. When we shoot at knee or shoulder to activate portal, the two that aren't responsible for motes would shoot at Cyclops and once mote collectors return, they would shoot at Cyclops instead. For DPS, only four of us would set up the tether while the remaining two stay out of the picture to continue damaging boss until we reunite at the middle relay (yay for relay defender mod) after both links are successful then we do the most damage we could. It took us three phases, yep three. That's quite unfortunately. We are working on one phasing on both Consecrated Mind and Sanctified Mind. No Anti-Barrier or Overload rounds were needed for this but Anti-Barrier rounds may be needed after we spotted one inside the portal.

Overall, less call-outs is a lot better than Last Wish but new players would struggle in the final encounter. I can totally tell.

We have never cleared any raid within 24 hours for the emblem. It's how bad we want it. There are couple deaf players that defeated raids for the 24 hours emblem but there was never a complete deaf team that had done it. So we are working on the latter. We did defeat Prestige EoW on day one, yes but there wasn't any emblem for it.

P.S.: Dear Bungie, we deserve some pizza and vex milk.

EDIT 2: Thank you for the silver and platinum, kindly strangers!

Bungie, create a quest directing new players through the tower with the final step taking them to Amanda

    Posted: 09 Oct 2019 06:43 PM PDT

Each quest step could have descriptions of each vendor which could be progressed by stopping by and saying hello. Amanda would be the final step because it would direct players to the campaigns if they wish to play them, or go roam, so many of my friends are really confused on what to do and are using me as their "Destiny Wiki".

Take them through a tour of the new tower please for the love of my sanity

Title. The game has been out for over two years and people still get killed by these things. The Vex Offensive should just be them shooting thousands of them at the Tower. We'd be defenseless.

Massive Breakdown Weapon Stats Spreadsheet has been UPDATED for Season of the Undying! Includes Times-to-Kill (with a Calculator that can take into account Resiliency Levels, Perks, Damage Boosts, and Player Accuracy effects), and other relevant stats!

    Posted: 09 Oct 2019 09:20 AM PDT

    Massive Breakdown Weapon Stats Spreadsheet

Changes Made Since Season of Opulence:

    1. Added in Moon, Vex Offensive, and Garden of Salvation weapons and stats
    2. Added in new Exotic weapons
    3. Updated Exotic SMG, Crimson, and Sweet Business damage numbers
    4. Updated Rapid Fire and High Impact pulse rifle damage numbers
    5. Added in more general damage boosting perks on the ATtKC Tool (like Multikill Clip and Swashbuckler)
    6. Added in more general damage boosting effects on the ATtKC Tool (like Weapons of Light and Frontal Assault)
    7. Added in the ability for a player to choose their estimated accuracy, and a section to display how weapons kill at the given accuracy levels

For the Archetype Time-to-Kill Comparison Tool, in order to get it to work you just need to download yourself a copy of the spreadsheet, and then it will allow you to change:

    1. Opponent's Resiliency Tier
    2. Your own estimated critical hit accuracy percentage
    3. Any perk or effect you would like (both can be selected at once to display combined damage increase)

All of these things will automatically show you the updated TtKs and shots-to-kill for each archetype (and a lot of exotics) with the selected conditions. If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know!

Note: As far as I can tell the Resiliency values did not change (at least not dramatically), and the various tiers of resiliency just give differing percentage point bonuses to Shield amount, with 116 being the lowest amount of shield (plus the 70 HP of the player) and 131 being the highest amount.

Note 2: Some weapons still need to have their TtK values added in, like Divinity, Leviathan's Breath, and Cerberus with the Masterwork.

I'll be working on breakdowns of the Garden of Salvation, Vex Offensive, and Moon weapons next!

The Champion system would feel much better if more weapons could equip Overload/Shield Piercing/Unstoppable mods. Just SMGs/Autos/Bows for Overload/Piercing and HCs for Unstoppable feels VERY restrictive

    Posted: 09 Oct 2019 06:33 AM PDT

I think any Primary weapon that falls under the "scatter projectile" classification for the armor targeting mod (Autos, SMGs, Pulses, Sidearms) should have access to Overload/Piercing and any precision Primary (Scouts, Bows, HCs) should have access to Unstoppable mods.

Right now, theres no reason not to use Recluse for anything with Overload or Shielded Champions or a Hand Cannon for Unstoppable Champions, which really restricts the PvE meta for high level PvE, and further stacks the deck against weapons like Scouts and Bows.

Maybe Snipers could get Shield Piercing, Fusions could get Overload, and Shotguns could get Unstoppable too.

rise of iron literally has more then double the amount of weapons that shadowkeep has

    Posted: 09 Oct 2019 10:00 AM PDT

Credit to DA B3ASTLY b3ar for making this

    https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/253874849/0/0/1

so bungie claimed that this expansion is the same size as rise of iron which In terms of loot I beg to differ (other changes like armor 2.0 and game modes is a different story) there is not nearly enough weapons or armor in shadowkeep that rise of iron has as seen by this post on bungie .net beastly bear decides to make a small comment about how many weapons are actually in rise of iron compared to shadowkeep

keep in mind that I don't hate nor dislike destiny I'm only pointing out some problems with the dlc and this is only weapons not armor sense he hasn't made one about armor yet but if he does I will update this post with it

NEW WORLD DROPS: Rise of Iron (?)> Shadowkeep (0) CRUCIBLE WEAPONS: Rise of Iron (10) > Shadowkeep (1) VANGUARD WEAPONS: Rise of Iron (10) > Shadowkeep (1) NEW MONARCHY: Rise of Iron (6) > Shadowkeep (0) FWC: Rise of Iron (6) > Shadowkeep (0) DEAD ORBIT: Rise of Iron (6) > Shadowkeep (0) TRIALS: Rise of Iron (7) > Shadowkeep (0) STRIKE SPECIFIC LOOT: Rise of Iron > Shadowkeep ARCHON'S FORGE vs. NIGHTMARE HUNTS+VEX OFFENSIVE: Rise of Iron (2) < Shadowkeep (4) IRON BANNER: Rise of Iron (6-10 not sure) > Shadowkeep (?) RAID: Rise of Iron (10) > Shadowkeep (7)

as you guys can seen there are way more weapons in rise of iron then there are in shadowkeep just wanted to make this post for everyone to see that there is definitely a lack of loot in shadowkeep I know there is more stuff coming but even then there probably still won't be enough weapons compared to rise of iron

if anybody at bungie is reading this please make sure you guys refresh the vendors and PLEASE BRING BACK FACTIONS also one last shout out to DA B3ASTLY b3ar thanks for making this comment.

Bungie, the freelance option for this season's "competitive" is likely the one of best things ever.

    Posted: 09 Oct 2019 06:28 PM PDT

I don't normally play with a group of people, for any activity really, so entering competitive in the past and matching against full teams was stressful.

With this addition of freelance, I've hit legend my 3rd time successfully. I only lost a handful of matches, with almost all my matches being fair play. It's good that you lose 2 off of your streak count, and a few points, rather than losing what feels like a ton in the past compared to this season.

I just want to say thanks, Bungie. For the option for the solo players.

Edit: Wowee, a gold. Wasn't expecting that. Thanks, kind guardian!

Most of the times, the items on the store isn't even new, but at least it still caters to the play to earn play style.

Ikora building a Vex portal at the tower? Check.

    Ikora's teacher being Osiris? Check.

Osiris being heavily involved with the Vex? Check.

Osiris being a close friend of Saint-14? Check.

Saint-14 going through Vex portals to find Osiris? Check.

Saint-14's story involving us going back in time and meeting him to hand him a shotgun? Check.

Me thinks we might be seeing some Saint-14 fuckery this season.

Allow me to get your hopes up.

Steam users, there is a chat command to learn your id

    Posted: 09 Oct 2019 12:51 PM PDT

If you are playing on PC, you can use the "/id" command in your chat to get your steam invite/join id. When entered, you can just copy the number and use that for LFG or something else. I learned that today, thought it may be useful for others too.

Normally, we have to suspend disbelief when it comes to replaying activities (strikes, old missions, multiple raid completions), but Ikora's Vex portal plan will be the first PvE activity that actually makes sense for millions of guardians to complete over and over and over again

    Posted: 09 Oct 2019 06:33 AM PDT

I'm not talking about the vex offensive event currently happening, I'm talking about a future event ikora has hinted at

this is assuming it goes off as planned, of course: chasing the undying mind throughout all of time and killing it wherever it hides until there's nowhere left to run

also, I hope that portal is a one-way street, Ikora...

EDIT: for those citing anything Dreaming City related, that cycle only needed to be reset ONCE every THREE WEEKS...not thousands of times every three weeks, like guardians did

and now we don't even have to wait three weeks to do it! we can do it whenever. I think the canonical reason for repeat is officially ignored.

Ikora's plan for stopping the Vex Offensive is one of the most badass plans I've heard in Destiny

    Posted: 09 Oct 2019 01:30 AM PDT

To kill the Undying Mind in so many timelines that one where it survives and escapes just isn't conceivable even by vex standards. It's insane, I love it.

Who needs guns!? - The Knight Titan build.

    Posted: 09 Oct 2019 11:33 AM PDT

so with the artefact I made a Knightly/Sword based titan build.. who will basicly always have their sword sharpened.

it basicly makes a constant loop of generating sword/heavy ammo from your super energy, and using your sword to create alot of super energy

Heavy Finisher Mod (half your super for heavy drop)

Enhanced Heavy Lifting (Gain Greater super energy from power weapon kills)

Stronghold (for that crispy sword block/heal, pairs nicely with my throne cleaver that rolled with blocking damage increases damage for a short time)

a Masterworked Throne-Cleaver with tireless blade (every other powered kill returns 1 ammo, throne cleaver can really easily get multi-kills with its wide swings, same for making masterwork orbs!)

and to finish it, a nice sword scavenger mod!

not in picture, bottom tree sentinel because of its perk "In the trenches" "kills while surrounded by enemies reduce the cooldown of your super"

planning to add "Innervation" and "ashes to assets" on my mark together with heavy finisher, as soon as i get an ascended shard.

those two will give me super energy for nade kills, and nade energy on orb pickup (which my sword will be making) which pairs nicely with the fact that you can still throw nades with your sword out!
