You just never quit do you?. Took out ghaul, woke up the traveler, entered the leviathan, stopped penoptes, entered the leviathan, slew a worm god, turned him into a gun, entered the leviathan, avenged cayde, entered the dreaming city, broke the shattered throne, reclaimed the forges, shut down sivik's nuke, met the nine, evaded tr3vr, ran through the menagerie, entered the leviathan, explored the pyramid, returned to the black garden...

See how long we can get it by the end of the games life.

Edit: "I also heard you ended the black heart, broke the vault of glass, stopped crota's return and took him out, captured skolas, won the prison of elders, won the taken war, killed the taken king, sparrow raced, reformed the iron lords, defeated the devil splicers..."

Why is our ghost named Ghost while other ghosts have actual names?

    Posted: 12 Oct 2019 01:14 PM PDT

Like, is he not bothered by this? Did we as his Guardian fuck up and not name him when we met? Are we supposed to name him? Is that part of the deal? Did we get a dog in fiction and name it Dog? Is our little guy having an identity crisis over this, but we can't be bothered to notice cause we'd rather throw our bodies off the tower over and over for fun? Is the Traveler supposed to give ghosts their names? Does the Traveler hate our ghost? Was our ghost a mistake? Matter of fact, why is our guardian named Guardian? Is literally no one going to stop and be like, "I know it's been half a decade and all, but I feel like we don't really know you... wanna chat a little?" Are we the fucking weird coworker that wears a duster to work and eats alone, mumbling to themselves in the cafeteria on their lunch break? Do people avoid us until they really need something? Why is our Guardian okay with not having a name? Are we fucking stupid? Is our ghost fucking stupid? Are we literally the perfect pair and able to do unfathomable things near single handedly because our intelligence level is so fucking low that we've reached point of imbecilic nirvana? Are the Drifter and Shaxx actually putting the disabled kid in the battlegrounds with all the other named, functioning Guardians? When we do good, do they cheer us on and chalk it up as God's way of compensating? Is the Traveler God? Did they make us this way? Does everyone know our names but choose not to tell us because we're secretly being bullied behind our backs? Does our Guardian only say a few words because those are all the words they know? If my Guardian eats a burrito and dies, does the burrito come back too with the resurrection or am I hungry again? If an Exo eats a burrito, dies and gets resurrected at the point right after eating the burrito, can the burrito in the previous body be salvaged? And can this process be repeated for infinite burritos? Are we on the path to Destiny's first dupe glitch?

I'm just looking for some answers. Thanks in advance.

Edit: This was a legit question that I had earlier today that turned into something very dumb, but kinda funny. I definitely had fun writing it and glad people have found it humorous. Thank you for those who replied and corrected me on things and educated me about the lore. It's much appreciated!

Edit 2: Inb4 r/awardspeechedits. As I appreciate the gold, I would encourage people to please use your money on other people besides me. There are plenty of sorry souls in the world that need it more than Reddit/myself. Find a charity or, organization that is reputable and meaningful to you and use your money there instead. But still, I thank the anonymous gilder. You put a smile on my face which is all I can hope that I did for you.

Edit 3: Also, I really fucking love hearing what everyone calls their ghosts. I never thought so many would have made that kind of personal attachment. I think it's neat. So, I guess that means I gotta come up with one myself...

Edit 4: Jesus fucking Christ you guys have killed my ghost and my inbox

Its fine, don't worry about it! Just stay focused on not dying and let me do the work. At end of the day its just a video game! I hope you get that pinnacle weapon!

Edit: I did NOT expect this post to get that much traction! I saw a lot of people comment that they constantly get tilted by having bad players on their team! To those people: Don't forget that even if you lose, you can still gain glory! Just focus on playing your best and use these games as a learning opportunity!

NEW PLAYERS: Cure that "which-gun-do-I-keep" headache NOW with this easy solution that has doctors AMAZED!

    Posted: 12 Oct 2019 07:46 PM PDT

    TL;DR at bottom.

Disclaimer:Not endorsed or affiliated with https://www.d2checklist.com/ in any way. Old players please ignore me as I'm excited and want to share the New Light love with my fellow New Lighters.

I'm a New Light player just like YOU and boy was I confused.

What's that? Three of the same looking guns in my inventory? GUESS I'LL JUST DISMANTLE TWO OF THEM WITHOUT REALLY KNOWING WHAT I'M DOING. We've all been there. Well... I have. And I just want to share my experiences with you. Take a seat over there, boyo, it's story time shhhhh it's story time...

After a week of stumbling around the Moon and shooting undead aliens with guns-galore as a Titan... I came to realise and ask myself something I'm sure I can't be the first person to ask:

How do I know what guns to actually keep... especially considering I now have duplicates of the same gun in my inventory / vault?

A gun's light level was all that mattered to me. I ignored perks because that sweet sweet number was the eye-candy that had me drooling. Fast-reload on a shotgun with only 890ilvl? Pfft, I'll settle for my 920 shotgun that takes four minutes to reload THANK YOU VERY MUCH. I've been brainwashed by higher numbers since the days of Everquest and Runescape. It's a hard habit to break.

Then I read up a bit. Granted, it took me a while (I'm a Titan remember - apparently it's an unspoken rule to leave your brain at the character-select screen).

    https://www.d2checklist.com/ saved my life.

I first started using it to track my weekly and daily to-do's, then accidentally discovered the gear page. "Huh, okay... some of these weapons' perks have this yellow icon next to them."

The list of guns on your gear page will have yellow icons next to them.

And this is what they mean:

    • The yellow indicators on your gear hints towards ideal perks!
      • Shield = ideal for PvE
      • Swords = ideal for PvP
      • Star = suitable for both PvP and PvE

That yellow icon tells you that the perk you just moused over is particularly useful for PvE, PvP, or both.

Additionally, you can colour-code and select which guns you want dismantled, kept, infused, or upgraded like this: A list of guns highlighted - some in red (dismantle) and some in blue (need to be upgraded)

\*THEN*\** I accidentally discovered the best thing in the universe. Something someone probably already told me abut but I forgot because, hey, there are like 10000 things to learn in this game as a new player.

Me comparing two rocket launchers: Example here

YOU CAN COMPARE TWO COPIES OF THE SAME GUN YOU HAVE IN YOUR INVENTORY. The site then compares the perks, and the effects of each perk on that gun. This has changed my life. I want to share this with you, too, New Lighters. I want to hold hands with you all and dance around knowing that we didn't just dismantle what the vets call a "god roll" gun. But most of all, I want you to know what I wished I knew when I started.

Good look out there fellow Kinderguardians <3

    TL;DR below:

New player? For the love of God use https://www.d2checklist.com/ . It's something you didn't realise you NEEDED to play Destiny 2 and manage your gunventory. It's a third-party site I wish I knew existed when I started playing.

    What does it do?

    • Compares duplicate guns including the impact those perks have on its stats
      • The yellow indicators on your gear hints towards ideal perks!
        • Shield = ideal for PvE
        • Swords = ideal for PvP
        • Star = suitable for both PvP and PvE
    • Allows you to sort and assign your guns with colour coded tags including "infuse", "dismantle", "keep", "junk", and "upgrade
    • Tracks your weekly and daily progress (pursuits, milestones, bounties, progress towards rep / powerful / pinnacle rewards)

Bring back the “Rewards Screen” at the end of activities

    Posted: 12 Oct 2019 07:20 AM PDT

I really miss that moment after finishing nightfall, pvp matches, etc. when all your team had on screen all the rewards of the activities displayed.

It was one of the most exciting things back in D1. Please bring it back Bungie!!

Edit: I know that a lot of people don't wanna waste time on a screen, but bringing back rewards screen in the summary does not have to stop you from going to orbit earlier, as it is now.

You can fill your entire super bar after 4 kills on Hunter with 3 distribution mods

    Posted: 12 Oct 2019 12:55 PM PDT

    https://imgur.com/a/tvkqbCa

    My build:
    Sixth Coyote
    Top Tree Arcstaff
    Y2 boots with Distribution
Armor 2.0 cloak with 2 Distribution mods

No paragon mods are needed, but they certainly help. Sixth Coyote is also optional if you want to just use Raiden Flux for a better super. This is probably one of the most broken mid-game pve build right now. Maybe less practical in raids but still viable.

Scout Rifles still aren't strong enough in PvE

    Posted: 12 Oct 2019 06:13 AM PDT

The reason Scout Rifles sucked in Forsaken was just how much damage they were lacking. They were doing significantly less damage per hit when compared to Hand Cannons of the same rate of fire.

Sadly, this is pretty much still true. Yeah Scouts got a buff but so did literally every other primary weapon type too. Every single one got a damage buff (and reduced precision damage to Minor enemies) so Scouts are still the runts.

I went to the moon with a 150 rpm Scout at 750 Light, and a 150 Hand Cannon at 750 Light, both Kinetic, and shot a Minor Acolyte out in a public area. (My total Light/Power/whatever didn't change because the weapons were the same level. And yes I got at close range when using the Hand Cannon.) Here's the damage numbers that came up on a head shot:

    Scout = 1933

    H.Cannon = 2393

So at the exact same rate of fire, Scouts are doing essentially 20% less damage than a Hand Cannon.

I totally get that Scouts should do less because of their huge range advantage. But not that much less. The percent difference should be in the single digits, not in the 20-30% range like it's been in Forsaken up to now.

For reference, here's the head shot damage of 150 rpm Scouts versus 150 rpm Hand Cannons in the Crucible:

    Scout = 67

    H.Cannon = 68

That's less than a 1% difference, but in PvE it shoots up to a 20% difference? I feel like it was not nearly that large of a disparity in D1.

IMO Scout Rifles should only do like 5-10% or so less damage per hit in PvE compared to a Hand Cannon with the same fire rate. Because after all, the primary factor deciding which weapon you use should be the average range of the encounter--currently you'd always want the Hand Cannon instead because it actually one-hit-kills more things, and you'd only use the Scout out of necessity if the enemies are just too far, or to high-level to get anywhere near.

I can understand a 150 or 180 rpm Scout doing 5-10% less damage per hit than a 150 or 180 rpm Hand Cannon; but 20% or more makes Scouts feel too weak to be worth using. And this is the exact same sentiment we had during all of Forsaken, and why we rejoiced so much when Bungie said Scouts were getting a buff--they just neglected to mention that ALL primary weapons were, which left Scouts in the same place as before...last place.

I don't see why I'd ever use a Scout unless it's Master-level Nightfall and you're forced to constantly hide behind cover and plink from afar. Any other time their DPS and killing potential is too low, despite their range.

Competitive Solo Queue was probably one of the best PvP changes Bungie've made so far.

I'm 100% serious right now, it made comp ACTUALLY enjoyable, Solo MM was something we asked for a long time and its finally here and it feels amazing. Good work Bungie!

    Phone wallpapers

Hello, this is an updated(!) collection of phone wallpapers I have collected, including some for shadow keep. I do not know if any contain spoilers, I don't think they do, but I marked it as such anyways.

I am not the original artist for these and the only work I did was some slight editing to make them oled screen friendly. I apologize to the hunters & titans as the wallpapers I've kept are geared toward warlocks, but there's still some general ones as well.

Honestly I've been collecting these for a while and I do not remember the original artist, if this is your work and you want it taken down, just let me know and I'll work on that asap.

Edit: Thanks, anyone know the exchange rate for reddit silver to eververse silver?

Edit: I asked tess if she accepted gold, she told me to send the whole shipment back. :(

V IMPORTANT EDIT: u/indx is one of the great artists from which these pictures originate. They posted more of their work here. Please support artists like this who take the time to make amazing original content like this.

Why not add them as a similar trading system like the Phantasmal Fragments work on Eris' Magic Hive Dildo? We get them as drops regardless of completion of that milestone, so why not add them as a real consumable that we can give to Ikora for engrams as a normal vendor?

Currently, the legendary Vex Mind Components cap at 100, leaving (at least for me) over 500 in my postmasters across characters. This is the same sad design flaw that Gambit Prime synths STILL have as a 20 cap, and has not been addressed by anyone at Bungie yet.

Make Ikora great again. She's actually trying and so is Zavala. We want our vanguard to be worth more than a face and guidance.

You can activate Honed Edge on Izanagi's Burden before using a raid banner, then get max ammo and a honed bullet after rallying

Similar to Eriana's Vow, Sleeper Simulant should intrinsically come with Armour Piercing rounds.

It just makes sense and fits the whole design idea with Sleeper. Plus sleeper could use the buff as it is, being outclassed as a power exotic most of the time! Edit: Anti Barrier, not armor piercing.

Bungie please look into Escalation Protocol armor 2.0!

    Posted: 12 Oct 2019 06:07 AM PDT

Currently, you can only obtain 1 cache key per week for an armour drop in EP. This in itself is increadibly annoying, however to mitigate the frustration with this system the armour would originally be awarded in a set order as a knockout system, only dropping duplicates once the entire set had been acquired. This is no longer the case.

Unfortunately Since the release of Showdowkeep and the armour 2.0 system, this armour knockout system hasnt been re-introduced. Meaning you have ONCE CHANCE PER WEEK to have a new armour peice drop. Yet if you are as unlucky as the rest of my fireteam and you happen to get a duplicate drop - Well, sucks to be you wait another 7 days to try again!

I dont think I need to explain how frustrating the current system is.

Bungie, for the love of the traveler! For the love of Cayde 6! Please update the EP armour drops!

Tier 3 reckoning drops high end stat rolls (above 60) absolutely perfect for grinding perfect armor sets.

    Posted: 12 Oct 2019 06:22 AM PDT

Not sure why this is the case, but atm this is probably the best place to farm armor since for whatever reason reckoning must be classified as a pinnacle activity but without the high light gear. Reckoning just seems to be getting better and better.

The highest I've gotten so far is 67 points on a level 3 helmet. I'm not sure if this is anywhere close to the highest possible stat roll but this is still insanely good. So far the highest I've ever seen in general is 70 points on a raid gauntlet so I imagine that's around as high as it gets.

I think the weapons collections should show every roll possibility for a given weapon, so I don’t have to consult a third party website for what I want to farm for.

This Warlock Build is Insane! Unlimited Grenades and Health with a ton of Supers!

    Posted: 12 Oct 2019 02:45 PM PDT

This is why I love Shadow Keep, the Artifact and Armor 2.0!

You can have unlimited Grenades and Health and also regen a ton of supers using this build! The main items that you will need that really help it out is Recluse, a level 11 artifact and also the exotic nezarec's sin! Combine Devour with shield piercing rounds on the Recluse and with the 2 mods breach refractor and melee refractor and it works wonders!

Here is a video on it to understand it better: https://youtu.be/dDTxk3tT9dU

During this Vex Offensive, it's important to remember the lesson taught to us by Brotheon, the Swolular Mind

    The best part of Shadowkeep

I would like to clarify how to actually use the unstoppable shot mod. You must ADS for a second or 2 before you shoot, your handcannon will glow red with the buff and BAM, slow your ugly ogre ass down big fella.

    Posted: 12 Oct 2019 03:47 PM PDT

I've ran adept ordeal with quite a few guardians who are dumping ammo into the ogre, but can't get him to stop. This is how you stop him.

Does Suraya Hawthorne live in a box or something?

    Posted: 12 Oct 2019 12:15 PM PDT

Like lady, you do realize we killed Ghaul and woke up the Traveler AGES ago. There is currently something much grander and more terrifying going on and you stand RIGHT next to Ikora, have you not been eaves dropping?

I personally think she's a vex wearing human skin because she is still stuck in one timeline.

The man who composed Destiny 2's soundtrack is a genius!

    Posted: 12 Oct 2019 07:32 PM PDT

I'm a New Light player (hello there!) and I just got here but I wanted to say this.

MY GOD THE MUSIC IN THIS GAME IS FANTASTIC!

To me, the music has always been an essential part of any game, whether it's single player or multiplayer; and seriously, Destiny's music is perfectly made. It has a grandiose feeling to it, you feel you're going against insurmountable odds and you feel the scale of the game (you're a universal fighter navigating through space going against huge enemies and battling many aliens other races call GODS while defending 3 civilizations)

This may come as an exaggeration but Destiny's soundtrack evokes in me the same type of feeling Howard Newton's soundtrack in Lord of the Rings does.

I applaud you and your work, Michael Salvatori, for a terrific job and Martin O'Donell for being the inspiration to the compositions in Destiny 2!

Extra progress should be counted for Scout Rifle kills in Competitive for Randy's Throwing Knife. Just like how it worked for the Mountaintop.

    Posted: 12 Oct 2019 04:30 AM PDT

For non-scout rifle players the quest takes really long. I'm more of an aggressive hand cannon/ fusion player so this quest has really been bugging me out. I want to complete the collection tho so I'll keep fighting (At 26 procent!).
