BUNGO! Again, THANK YOU for implementing a 6-PvE Matchmaking Vex activity! (Vex Offensive) Posted: 06 Oct 2019 09:01 AM PDT For real - as a solo player and seeing this, damn it's fun. Vex Offensive is intense. Sure it's repetitive but regardless, found myself playing it all day when able. Will be doing it. [link] [comments] |

Destiny 2 will be speedrun at Games Done Quick (AGDQ 2020) Posted: 06 Oct 2019 05:54 PM PDT We will be showcasing Last Wish all bosses for the run. This will be the first MMO speedrun at a GDQ. We're all excited to show you and the rest of the gaming community how cool these speedruns can be. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 06 Oct 2019 12:04 PM PDT For the last cutscene in shadowkeep you see an exact copy of yourself as the darkness. But i don't think anyone noticed the lore text on the exotic sparrow Otherside. It basically says that there is a player on the otherside, a perfect enemy, just as powerful, just as experienced, just as smart, and it waiting for us. This could mean the darkness. Posted: 06 Oct 2019 10:55 AM PDT Thanks to everyone Bungie for making a game I enjoy so much! <3 How?The majority of my Exp (after Season Rank 50) came from Eris Bounties. I would buy as many as I could for 3k Glimmer and then head to the K1 Logistics Lost Sector to complete them. On a good run I could finish all 5. Delete Tidal Lock as it's trash... then repeat. It's very grindy but you get a level about every 3-5 Lost Sector runs. [link] [comments] |
There is something special here... Posted: 06 Oct 2019 10:31 AM PDT I never played Destiny 1 and just started with New Light, but wow. Playing through The Red War campaign is amazing so far. When your Ghost is like "Guardian if you die, I can't resurrect you." While the music was playing... I felt so sorrowful and immersed. I haven't felt that way about a game in a long time.. I can't wait to kill Ghaul. Public events are crazy as hell too. I was just minding my own business in the EDZ when waves after waves of Cabal started attacking. Me and a couple of strangers were beating them for a while until these big Cabal with shields started pushing us back. We start retreating, then this one guardian whips out his golden gun and turns the fight around..What a crazy game man! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 06 Oct 2019 04:00 AM PDT Bungie you really need to address this issue asap, it was already bad before the migration on steam, now it's even worse, fix your goddamn instances. It's not fun to playing ALONE 90% of the time on the new map where everyone is supposed to be, especially now that the vex event is active and soloing it is pretty much impossible for most of the players. EDIT: My NAT IS OPEN, and it's not the problem, this game always had this issue, and now with the new wave of players is even more critical. EDIT2: Wow, thanks for the gold! EDIT3: Damn, the post exploded, thanks for the Silver kind stranger, and lets hope that Bungie will notice this :\ [link] [comments] |
An abridged history of why Eris is a little grumpy Posted: 06 Oct 2019 03:00 PM PDT Now this is a story all about how the moon got flip turned upside down, and I'd like to tell a story just sit right there and I'll tell you why Eris is so grumpy and has that green, three-eyed stare.
A long time ago in a galaxy very, very close, Crota and his boys showed up on the moon after Daddy Oryx cast him out and told him to earn his keep by conquering shit after Crota let the Vex invade Daddy's throne world, an event which even had the worm gods themselves yell at Oryx to get his fucking family in order. The Vanguard said "nuh-uh, they're trespassing" because this solar system ain't big enough for the 3 of us, Humanity, Fallen, and Hive. In their infinite wisdom, they decided to plan an invasion of the moon with literally hundreds of thousands of Guardians. Upon hearing this, Shaxx bursts in the door, flipping tables and shouting "you dumb motherfuckers are doing no recon and throwing everyone at an army we know nothing about. What the actual fuck?" Zavala just stares at him and shrugs, tells the Guardians to mount up, and blasts Fortunate Son over the Comms. Crota hears the Guardians coming, but knows that he is a Vietnamese rice farmer, and the drafted teenage American Guardians are no match for his jungle tunnels and spike traps. Upon the Guardians arrival, Crota and his band of merry men show up with Light-draining swords and cool witch magic and kill like 99% of all the Guardians. Zavala was sad. Ikora was sad. Shaxx was pissed and sad and totally said "I told you so". Cayde-6 was still not killed by Uldren. This whole event is now known as the Great Disaster.
One of the Guardians who died was a Titan named Wei Ning, who was famous for punching all her problems away. That's not a joke. Her strategy for every fight was to punch everything as hard as possible. She is the most Titany Titan that ever Titaned. The now-dead Wei Ning had a still alive girlfriend, the Warlock Eriana-3, whose level of sadness and anger made Shaxx seem like he dropped his last haggis, rather than lose thousands of brothers and sisters. Eriana-3 wanted Zavala and the Vanguard to gather more intel on the Hive and invade the moon again to get revenge for her dead girlfriend, but Zavala basically said "no can do. This is an election year and doing something that crazy would lose me more votes than I already have. What you decide to do is none of my business, because I need plausible deniability."
So Eriana-3 gathered a team to revenge-kill Crota - Her friend Eris Morn, three nobodies, and an exiled warlock named Toland the Shattered, who had a super healthy obsession with the hive and their cool magic. After gaining some knowledge on how the Hive do business, they start their mission as the "first Crota fireteam" (side note: this is one of the lore reasons why raid teams have 6 people in the game, even though the previous Destiny raid had an original fireteam of only 3 people: A guy who thought it was a good idea to drink an Oracle and subsequently turned into a Vex, a guy who got so lost in time that he died 1000 years ago, and a narcissistic baby who ran away because he didn't want himself and the memory of all his actions to be literally erased from existence).
In true Titan fashion, the only Titan in the fireteam died immediately to a bunch of Thrall because his logic of Fist > Thrall didn't apply to a whole swarm of them. The other 2 nobodies died, because that's how good tragedies are written. Toland eventually split away from the fireteam just so he could hear Ir-Yut sing her deathsong in person, because the studio-recorded version just wasn't doing it for him anymore. Toland thought that due to his knowledge of the Hive and their rituals, he would hear the deathsong and not die, but instead find his way into the Ascendant Plane. To the surprise of no one (because he left them to fight a god by themselves), his plan worked and he now resides on the moon as a white ball, working as a tour guide. Eriana-3 died too and never got to avenge her girlfriend, probably because Eris needed character development, or because she didn't have "video-game protagonist plot armor" like we do.
Eris decided now was a good time to run from Crota, instead of pulling her LAN cable like she should have, and noped all the way back to the bottom of the Hellmouth. Much like Timmy stuck in a well, she couldn't get out, but unfortunately for her, Lassie wasn't up top getting help. She decided to capture a Wizard and subjected it to Rod Stewart's Greatest Hits until it broke down and told her all about the Hive. Because Eris was having such an easy time being trapped and hiding at the bottom of a pit in enemy territory, the universe decided to make her blind (so she had to steal an Acolyte's eyes, hence the 3 green, bleeding eyes), and kill off her Ghost so if Eris did die again, Crota would perma-ban her from the moon's server. She lived at the bottom of the Hellmouth for perhaps hundreds of years, gaining the title of hide-and-seek champion, but eventually found her way out because Destiny needed it's first DLC and Crota still wasn't dead. We did her job for her and killed Crota and Oryx, so she decided to go sightseeing with Queen Mara for a while before ending up living next to the place where she was trapped for hundreds of years (Guardians don't get PTSD apparently), haunted by the ghosts of her 5 dead friends and being justifiable pissed off at that fact.
Thanks for reading, and I know this story isn't 100% accurate.
TL;DR everyone died, ghosts are spooky, and punching things won't solve the universe's problems.
Edit: Thanks for the Silver!
Edit2: Holy shit my first Platinum! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 06 Oct 2019 12:20 PM PDT The Garden of Salvation Raid looks absolutely stunning. And joining in the World First Raid race was a blast as always, racing alongside the top teir teams in the Destiny Community. However, with all the particle effects going on and with how large the encounter spaces are, console suffers heavily from framerate drops and with lag so bad, sometimes you are moving in basically slow motion. It's well known that PC has the best players and that it's where all the competive players will migrate to for the best experience and chance at the World First Title. This has been signicantly proven with the World 2nd GoS team "Reality", having recently moved from Xbox to PC with Cross Save. They did not manage a day one clear in Crown of Sorrow on Xbox, but pulled off 2nd place on PC in the new raid. They did an exceptional job in taking on the challenge and nearly securing that world first title by 2min and 33 seconds. So close, but Congratulations to them! But it begins to show that the techinical advantages of higher FPS, FOV, graphical controls, Mouse and Keyboard, lower recoil on PC have over console definitely add up in making the engagements way more enjoyable. Especially when encounters on console decide to be borderline unplayable on the hardware. I know personally for my clan, we are really starting to debate even the point of attempting the race on console anymore if we are held back by the hardware limitations. Mainly if Bungie is going down the route with even more crazier designed spaces for the future raids and designed in a PC environment. These need to be tested heavily on consoles in the future so they are all viable, not just for the ones on PC. Because no one likes having to fight in contest mode or play any content at 10-20fps..........it's pretty shit. Hopefully with the next gen consoles, this will fix this problem and Destiny 2 will run signicantly better on them compared to current gen. But after being awake for over 25hrs bashing our heads into a Vex Gate Lord, it's time to finally sleep and think about how much better it would be bashing our heads in 60fps instead. Edit: Running the X or the Pro will certainly help with this issue, but you will still be limited to 30fps. Some have said there are still some dips (Most likely in the craziest of situations when supers and all kinds of particle effects are exploding on the screen). But any of the older models will suffer hard. Edit 2: SpaceLion shared a clip of what Xbox sometimes deals with in the boss encounter. Warning: Viewers may suffer nausea due to low frame rates /s Edit 3: I know a lot of people suggest moving to PC to just compete. If this is the case, why even introduce Console as apart of the race anyway if it does come with such a huge disadvantage. Having seperate recognition for World's First on PC and Console can make this easier and still bring a fair and healthy competition. Granted the very first completion will always be the one given the title, but the acknoledgement for the other platform will always be grateful. Not wanting this to seem like a full rant complaining about the unfairness of the race, I enjoyed it and the challenge it had to offer and me and fireteam had a blast. It's that there are some clear points that are night and day between the platforms when competing and it's becoming more and more apparent with each raid. Contest has been a great addition to level the playing field for a day one raid for all contenders. However, we should start looking at having a fair playing field between multiple platforms when it comes to the race. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 06 Oct 2019 06:46 PM PDT Divinity step thread. Try to traffic all your discoveries here so it can clear up any confusion. I'll update if somebody finds something that's confirmed. Full Divinity Quest tutorial beginning to end: Step 1: Get the quest step by going to lunar battlegrounds on the moon where the garden of salvation portal would be. Will waves of ads til a giant Minotaur spawns. Kill him and you get it. Step 2: Go to three lost sectors on Nessus and inspect vex cores: The Orrery, Ancient Walk, The conflux. The Orrery: Just before you reach the boss jump up on a ledge to the left and there is a secret room. Ancient Haunt: A cave in the back left of the lost sector near the boss. The Conflux: Once you get in the room with all the cabal go to the top middle left of the room. There is a ledge with a secret room. Step 3: Kill 120 Black Garden vex. It doesn't have to be in the raid. Vex offensive, Vex incursion, etc count. Step 4: Go to the lectern of enchantment and buy an exotic part for 30 fragments. Step 5:(This is the complicated step that people aren't 100% positive of. But here's what we do know for sure) In this raid there are 3 tether rooms that we know of so far that get you closer to finishing the step. How do you get to them? This is how. Tether room 1: Once you go through the portal into the first encounter and get up the stairs, look to the left and right. There should be 2 hatches hidden in the walls. One on the left and one on the right. Once entered, two holes are exposed coming up the stairs that are more important later. At first glance these rooms are useless. They aren't. Go back to where you spawned in the black garden and drop down below the platform. There is a secret room that has an intractable vex thing in the wall. Interact with it and platforms will appear at the exit of the room leading you back up. This shows you that you did it. Go back to the rooms you found and in one room should be a red tether box and the other should have a conflux that you need to connect it to similar to the 1st encounter. You need 5-6 people to connect the tether from one room to the other using the holes that opened up on the stairs. Once you do this you can move onto the next room. Tether room 2: (After the 1st encounter. Can also be glitched to from the 1st encounter with worldline zero and other stuff. Here's a video kinda showing how to do it except you take a right before dawnblading under the barrier and go around the giant wall and go along the wall til you reach it.) The tether room can be accessed through two known entrances.
Tether room 3: Credit u/acetaichou's comment. "Third Tether Room is on a branch if you stick hard right during the jumping puzzle. There's a box hidden under a leaf there once you shoot it about 6-7 red light diamond things pop up, you have to connect the beams through them all to complete that one. Also, there must be at least another after because it didn't complete in that encounter. Good luck guys! I'll post a link to a picture of the location since my fireteam didn't take any, but I found it on another thread." https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/409400008882782208/630220164595712000/tiger_release_final_20191006_034947.png?width=1179&amp;amp;amp;height=664 Credit below: u/sidnbai's comment Credit for find: u/flipdipslip and u/TheLPMaster Tether room 4: After defeating the Harpy Boss (3rd Encounter) A box will spawn in one of the alleyways down below a ledge, activate it and highlight all of the nodes after creating a loop. To create a loop all 6 guardians need to form a line and tether all 6, after everyone in the line gets tethered, the 6th person needs to walk over to towards the first person in the sequence to activate the loop. Travel as a group and fit the pattern seen. Tether room 5: This box is actually in the same room as the previous one, it is the same box but all 6 guardians need to create another loop and travel as a group down one of the corridors towards the exit of that encounter. Line up accordingly. Tether room 6: The last and final tether is hidden near the ceiling in the waterfall room that was found in right before the final raid encounter. Jump up on all of the ledges until the receiver is found, link all 6 guardians with the tether box to the receiver to activate all 6 orb plates in the secret room. Final Room Puzzle: All 6 players need to link into a line but DO NOT create a loop. 5 players need to line up on the plates in any sequence as long as the 6th player tethers the receiver across from the tether box. This will activate the blue nodes beneath the tether box and receiver. The blue nodes will project a sequence in which all 6 players will need to change around accordingly. (ex: The first position in the tether line needs to stand on the 1st position in the blue projection's line. This goes for all 6 players. This process needs to be repeated flawlessly 6 times in order to progress. How to obtain Divinity: Finally after completing the final puzzle, you need to defeat the final boss. After defeating the final boss and dropping down to the loot room you will receive 2 chests, one containing Divinity and one with regular raid loot. Enjoy your Divinity exotic! World's first Divinity has been acquired. Complete the final room and get the gun. https://twitter.com/AspectXI/status /1180986057740996608 [link] [comments] |

It's About Time for 6 Man Fireteams in Patrol, is it not? Posted: 06 Oct 2019 06:54 PM PDT Ever since Bungie introduced Escalation Protocol this has been something lacking from the game that is quite evidently needed. (Especially now with the Vex Invasion event underway). With Shadowkeep has come a plethora of brilliant changes and developments but this is still a huge issue. Why are we limited to patrol fireteams of no more than 3 people? If the areas we try to load into were jam-packed I'd be more understanding, but they never are. Post-Crucible/Raid is a perfect example of when it sucks to break up a team of 6 just because the game tells us we're not allowed to run around on the Moon with more than 3 people. Really hope this changes moving forward as it'll not only make the game more enjoyable for a lot of players, but also incentivise more people to take part in the MMO events and Flashpoints. PvE is in a state of near perfection right now – But a few suggestions Posted: 06 Oct 2019 09:30 AM PDT I've put around 80 hours into the game since Tuesday, and here's my thoughts on how to make PvE even more amazing (it's in a GREAT spot right now):
EDIT: 7. Exotics should be able to use Artifact Mods. Good points on this below, and also could help address the Recluse issue in part. I'm sure I'm missing some things, but these are what come to mind currently. What are your suggestions for making the PvE experience even better? Overall, the game is in a fantastic spot for PvE content. [link] [comments] |
Please Bungie, add Artifact weapon mod slot to all exotics Posted: 06 Oct 2019 10:19 AM PDT Recently I've fallen in love with Le Monarque, but I can't use it in majority of new content, because it doesn't really fit into build against champions. It doesn't pierce shield, it doesn't overload or even stagger champions. You can't really use it and majority of our exotic arsenal. Pls Bungie, consider this [link] [comments] |
Posted: 06 Oct 2019 02:47 PM PDT One of my friends started playing Destiny a few months ago and I did the usual thing you do when one of your friends starts playing D2. I taught him how public events worked, helped him level, told him OEM sucks and don't ever use it or our friendship is over etc. Eventually he got past Forsaken, we cursed on Uldren together, got mad in Gambit, failed to get 100k voices, it was all just a beautiful time. Even though he got far in the game he still came to me every time he had questions. But now Shadowkeep came out and due to financial troubles I can't afford it, and he's been preparing me for what to do once I get it. It's weird but it made me slightly emotional, we shared so many good times when we started playing together and him telling me about the cool new stuff just reminds me of when I showed him the ropes, it genuinely made me tear up a little. He used to struggle killing public event bosses and now he's off killing Hive on the moon. Enjoy teaching kinderguardians how to play the game guys, they grow up so fast Edit: Thanks for the silver kind Guardian! Edit 2: I'm overwhelmed. So many kind guardiabs offered to buy me shadowkeep, and thanks to u/skizzorex I can enjoy the game with my friend. Thanks for sharing all your stories, the kind offers, the occasional MoOn'S hAuNtEd PM. I love this community [link] [comments] |

Posted: 06 Oct 2019 11:43 AM PDT Do you wanna sneak around and fight like the Ninja of old? This is the build for you. The purpose of this build is to keep invisibility up as long as possible in order to kill minions of darkness with little risk while also aiding your teammates by stunning and taking aggro off of your teammates before disappearing, leaving enemies confused and turned around- sitting ducks for your friends. You are everywhere, yet nowhere. Functionally, this build is based on the Synergy between 3 things: Rat King w/ it's Catalyst, Graviton Forfeit, and Bottom Tree Nightstalker. Central is Graviton Forfeit, outfitted with Vanishing Shadow, increasing the duration of invisibility and doubling your Melee charge rate while invisible. Combining this with Way of the Pathfinder with it's Vanish in Smoke Melee attack that allows you to throw a smoke bomb that makes you and your allies nearby invisible, you can recharge your invisibility while also staying invisible. As a bonus, Vanish in Smoke also gives you and nearby allies the Heart of the Pack buff, which stacks up to 3 times/lasts 20 seconds and improves weapon haste, mobility, resilience, and recovery, allowing you to better survive. Neat Synergy right? now lets crank it to 11. Rat King is well known for it's main perk Rat Pack, which increases damage and fire rate when nearby allies with Rat King Equipped. This perk allows for some insane DPS when you have a full team of people firing Rat King, and its famous for being a cheesy weapon because of it. However, This Rat is hiding it's secondary perk behind all that cheese hype. Vermin. Reloading after a kill grants invisibility (works on titans and warlocks, scary!). Using this, we can extend our invisibility even longer by taking out a small enemy and reloading, like a kind of kill clip. This also gives us that nice x2 boost to our Melee charge, allowing us to proc invisibility from our Melee even quicker as well as allowing us to keep Heart of the Pack up more often, improving our survivability. Vermin also gets a buff when you acquire the Catalyst for Rat King, not only adding an aim assist boost to our controller users and a recoil direction buff, but making Health Regen start on invisibility trigger via Vermin. This further improves our survivability, making Rat King Crimson's Angry Invisible Twin. Now let's add the stats of Armor 2.0 With some luck, you can minmax your stats, and the specific stats we will look at are Strength and Discipline. Strength is gonna be the most important, and you want no less than 100 Strength, as this improves the speed at which your melee cools down. At 100, your Strength reduces your melee cooldown to a cool 32 seconds. That's a lot of smoke bombs. This is further reduced by half down to 16 seconds while invisible. The only issue: invisibility from both the smoke bomb and Vermin lasts only 10 seconds. To combat this, the main idea is to smoke bomb, kill an enemy with Rat King and proc Vermin, smoke, rinse and repeat. This by itself is a great way to stay invisible, and reduces your functioning Smoke Bomb cooldown to about 17-19 seconds depending on how fast you can kill that dreg. If you can keep this under the 20 seconds, which is extremely easy, your smoke bomb will be back up to refresh your Heart of the Pack buff, effectively keeping it up indefinitely. Now, we want to do something other than be invisible right? Here is where Concussion and Blinding Grenade Launchers come into play. Using these grenade launchers, we can stun enemies from behind, turning them around and drawing the aggro onto us, but then we go and disappear again, causing the enemies to look around and reposition and require their target, which takes a few moments and gives our teammates a few moments to completely delete them from existence. "But wait!" you ask, "That takes us out of invisibility for a second and will increase our cooldown to over 20 seconds!" Good observation, that's why we tool into Discipline to reduce our grenade cooldown. Getting your Discipline as high as you can while keeping your Strength at 100 is super important, because of another aspect of Way of the Pathfinder: Combat Provision. This perk says that making people (including yourself) invisible grants a chunk of grenade energy, and that dealing damage with grenades grants Melee energy. Been out of invisibility too long and need to refresh Heart of the Pack? Throw a grenade at a chunky enemy, and watch your melee come back in seconds. You can also use good ol' gambler's dodge to quickly recharge that smoke bomb, and when combined with the Cloak Mod Enhanced bomber, using that dodge gives you grenade energy, meaning that your dodge to recharge your melee also recharges the grenade you use to also recharge your melee, and that making people invisible with that melee grants grenade energy??? Holy Hell that's a feedback loop my friends. Your invisibility will NEVER GO DOWN. Hope you guys enjoyed that build, in the visual guide I added some recommendations for mods and weapon swaps that work well with Faceless Rat. I hope I can make some more wacky combos like this! EDIT: I APPARENTLY CANT SPELL THE WORD PIECE this is why you check your work kids. [link] [comments] |
