    Divine Fragmentation Quest FOUND!!!

    Posted: 05 Oct 2019 04:38 PM PDT

If you go to the Garden of Salvation gate entrance in patrol, you encounter some vex coming out of it. Killing them spawns a big boss, who gives you a exotic quest called Divine Fragmentation.

If says we have to find a vex construct that is NOT on the moon. Any ideas as to where this is?

Edit: To get to the gate, head to the Lunar Battlegrounds on the moon, once you get to the area with the broken bridge (Where you capture the 6 hive things in the opening mission), turn left and go down the big path. You can't miss it. Keep going till you reach the gate, kill the vex and the boss to get the quest

Edit 2: So for the first step you need to go to 3 lost sectors, analyze the cores, and kill the vex. The first one is in the cistern, in the Conflux on Nessus. It's up on the right side of the room about halfway through.

The second one is in the Orrey lost sector. In Artifacts Edge on Nessus. It's halfway through the lost sector to the left. Before you reach the stairs.

Third one is in Ancients Haunt on Nessus. Halfway through the lost sector there is a small room to the left. Inside is the oracle.

-Next Step is to kill 120 Vex in the Black garden or the vex by the gate where you originally got this quest.

-Third Step is to go to the lectern on the moon and buy the exotic item there. Credit to r/jakelikesjellybeans.

-Final Step is to put it in the secret raid room at the beginning of the raid. It seems you have to tether two rooms that appear on the left and right after that.

Edit 3: So you have to tether the rooms on the left and right in the beginning of the raid. ( Right before the first boss room.) Someone also said that they found more rooms with tethers after the first encounter.

This is probably similar to the monitors in WoTM in D1. So far it seems like you have to do a tether room after each encounter in the raid. If anyone proves otherwise I will edit it below.

Edit 3: Thanks for my first gold :D

Edit 4: HOLY CRAP A PLATINUM!!?!?! Thank you kind stranger :D

Bungie pulled one thing off that they showcased back in 2013.

    Posted: 05 Oct 2019 01:43 PM PDT

This isn't a story spoiler but it is a mission/quest spoiler. Turn back now if you still want to see it develop on your own.

    https://youtu.be/gIp7vZuYzoA?t=603 [Timestamped video]

Here we see a group of "New" players going through the start of the Cosmodrome. They stumble upon a Fallen Walker blocking their path & another Fireteam fighting it as well.

At 10:15 you see another Fireteam spawn up top and come in. Level 20's, much higher than all the other guys. The main voice says "Another Fireteam coming in! Level 20's! This is gonna be good!" Like he's excited to see what the level 20's can pull off/do.

Skip to now. If you continued the quest line that gives you the Riskrunner & Riskrunner Catalyst, you visit The Cosmodrome. You spawn up onto a set of buildings, overlooking the Fallen & a Fallen Walker. This very same instance is the zone where new players come through. Then you came jump down and help them fight the Fallen and the Fallen Walker before seeing them move on their own through the campaign.

If you did this quest, especially as a veteran Destiny player, You are the level 20's coming in. You can showcase them your immense power, what's to come, what you can do and more. You give them something to look forwards to, grind to, and become. You became legend. They will aspire to be you.

I don't know about anyone else, but I thought that was really freaking awesome, it may have taken 6 years but one of the major things they showcased, is now.

Edit: Since so many people ask. The quest is from Banshee. If you spam clicked through his dialogue, you probably have it in your quests tab.

    Exotic Weapons need Mod Slots.

    Posted: 05 Oct 2019 04:46 PM PDT

With the new changes and additions of Barrier/Unstopabble/Overload champions, the lack of mods makes Exotics (and every weapon not named Recluse) essentially useless.

You can't run an Exotic in a high level NF because it's useless versus the highest priority threats in the strike. The only reason Exotics don't have mod slots is because they gained the +5 Power from D2Y1 automatically and catalysts were the replacement.

They need artifact mods to be relevant and even useable to some degree.

I spent the better half of yesterday gathering assets and data from light.gg to create this guide. Energy costs were manually entered, so let me know if there are any typos.

EDIT: Thank you all for your support!

UPDATE: Some people have asked for a light version or a version without the background. I have created three variations to choose from...

    Dark Solid: https://imgur.com/gpNGn5y

    Light Solid: https://imgur.com/shmgRBQ

Also, if you are on mobile, Imgur may not be showing the full resolution. On iOS, you need to request the desktop site. You do this by either holding the refresh icon in Safari on iOS 12 or by tapping the aA in the URL in Safari on iOS 13. Another option is to download the Imgur app...

    Solution: Eyes on The Moon

    Posted: 05 Oct 2019 10:30 AM PDT

So for everyone who cannot seem to find the Eyes on the Moon quest, do this:

    - Go speak to Ikora and pick up the new quest

    - Go to the Moon and wait around one of them Vex Invasion Zones

    - At some point the sky will break, and a lot of Vex are coming out

    - Keep doing this and eventually (probably 3 times) you'll get the next Eyes on the Moon quest step

    - Once ^ is completed, if you still CANT launch Vex Offensive from Director, you'll need to log out and back in, this will prompt a cut scene and you can now launch the activity

    EDIT: Fix for Vex Offensive

EDIT 2: The Vex Invasions seem to start shortly after Public Events: Thanks level 1dr_strangelove42 for pointing that out in the comments

EDIT 3: Thanks for that metal <3. I myself have had so much help from this sub, so glad I can give a little back

    Good luck!

Please Bungie put the solstice armor as a skin for all legend armors... I spent 15k of stellar dust in the ornaments and a lot of hours getting the armors for my 3 characters and I want to use it...

I worked a lot to get the solstice armor for my 3 characters and I just want to use it after all I had to do...

So please guys... If you don't do it, maybe Riven will fullfil my wish...

PD: before someone say something badass, yeah I picked up my 2.0 solstice armor from banshee but it has terrible stats... That is why I'm making this post...

No anti-champion mods on exotics ruins the whole fun of new Nightfalls

    Posted: 05 Oct 2019 01:48 PM PDT

Dont get me wrong, the new champion mechanic as a whole is great, and is definetly a turn into the right RPG-like direction, where every member of your team plays a dedicated role.

However, what absolutely ruins the whole idea for me is the fact that exotic weapons cant equip anti-champion mods. If you're running new nightfalls, you absolutely MUST have a legendary primary AR/SMG/HC/Bow with one of the anti-champion mods. That is non-negotiatable, it is NOT optional because champions are either immune or regenerate health hyper quick without those mods. Especially on higher difficulties where there are 3 kinds of champions, requiring all 3 team members to be ready.

That literally erases ALL primary exotic weapons in the game for the NF. Every single primary exotic is now gone, erased, useless, pointless, serves exactly zero value. Unless you're ready to go back to Y1 times and be forced to carry two primary weapons, completely loosing your special.

As someone who loves playing with exotic primaries, that just makes me sad and kills all motivation and eagerness for me to play new NFs.

    Vex Offensive feels rewarding

    Posted: 05 Oct 2019 03:55 PM PDT

Not only is the gameplay fun, but you get 1-2 legendaries usually just -1 or +0 of your current power per round, up to 6 per run (I think). It's an easy and fun way to grind for good stats and element armor or god rolls. Good job bungie, learned something from Menagerie.

Petition to Add The Halloween Masks to The Ornament Slot

    Posted: 05 Oct 2019 05:17 PM PDT

About the flavor text on the vex offensive weapons...

    Posted: 05 Oct 2019 07:39 PM PDT

So each of the four vex offensive weapons is named after a mood of a verb. (I think, only took a little Latin in high school) Imperative, Subjunctive, Adhortative, and Optative. So that's cool and all, but the flavor text of each of the weapons is a sentence using one of those moods. For example, the Imperative is a commanding verb. The flavor text of the Imperative reads "We must stop the weavers before..." This is an imperative verb. This continues for each of the flavor texts on the four weapons.

Very small detail but this just shows the level of detail that Bungie puts into making each of their weapons.

I really liked how Bungie portrayed Shadowkeep's villain

    Posted: 05 Oct 2019 03:09 AM PDT

Spoilers for the entirety of the campaign will be discussed here, including the ending. Turn back if you havent beaten it yet.

I think Bungie did a pretty great job showcasing the sheer power the Pyramid has compared to every single antagonist we have seen thus far in the series.

-Crota was able to be conquered in thanks to the knowledge which Eris earned through her painful experiences with the Hive. Even though Crota was a fearsome warrior back during the Great Disaster responsible for the slaughter of thousands of Guardians, once the rules of the Sword Logic were understood by us we were finally able to challenge him in an even playing field and defeated him by abiding to his own rules.

Crota served us Guardians our first defeat as an organized army. He humbled us, and reminded us that the Light does not make us unstoppable. However, his defeat marked our first significant victory against the Darkness, and revitalized the Vanguard´s resolve.

-Oryx came to avenge his son. We faced the God King of the Hive, and even though Oryx was not at his prime due to Crota´s death severing his tribute, the Taken King welcomed us in open challenge and we prevailed after significant hardship.

We managed to do what the Taken King, in his hubris, thought impossible. We shamed the cosmic Osmium Dynasty which thought itself a candidate to become the final shape of the universe. We humbled the Hive in the same way Crota humbled us, and dealt to them a blow they will never be able to recover from. With the death of Oryx, the legend of the Player Guardian was cemented and we became truly renowned.

-Ghaul gave us a challenge us Guardians were not prepared for. He severed us from the Light, and ground our numbers down as he punished us with his conquest hungry war machine. He took the Last City, and tested the limits of our hope and willpower as he pushed us to a near breaking point the Guardians had not experienced since the Great Disaster.

Ghaul tore down the Age of Triumph and served as a poignant reminder that no victory lasts forever. That we cannot let our guard down.

-Xol challenged us in a way we are familiar with and have practiced since the beginning of our species. The tried and true rite of honest combat. We battled against a Worm God, a being far closer to the Darkness than we had encountered at the time, and yet we managed to conquer the beast with the help of an ally we did not expect to ever meet, the Warmind Rasputin.

As we have known for a while now, Xol desired to be felled by us in order to link himself to our legend and leech off our killing, but the fact that by this point we ended two beings which called themselves "gods" did not escape our minds.

In the deaths of Xol and Oryx, we learned to not be intimidated by those who claim to be divine, for this false divinity is only as true as we allow it to be. In the canvas that is battle, Light is a pigment as strong as the Dark and the Sword Logic.

-Savathun is a different kind of enemy, one we havent faced before. An enemy that relies not in power, but in wit. An enemy that piles scheme upon scheme and hides truths in webs of lies. An enemy that engineered the death of Cayde and exploited our need for revenge by unleashing the Dreaming City´s curse. An event we have not been able to find an answer to.

From Savathun´s ever evolving plans we have learned to adapt. To not rely solely on force, but in understanding how our enemy operates to anticipate where they might strike next.

And yet, the Witch Queen understands and respects our power. She dares not show herself to us, for the one that put down Oryx and one of the worms which call themselves her Gods can certainly end her should the right conditions be met.

-And yet the Pyramid is completely different.

The Pyramid is the first antagonist in this franchise which we have been unable to harm in any meaningful way.

The thing immediately commands your absolute attention when you turn that fateful corner and see it there, as if it was waiting for you. The weight behind that short moment, the change in the music, the energy charging the air. The thing has not said a single word or lifted a finger against you, and it is already infinitely more intimidating than any of the baddies mentioned above.

The way Ghost reacts, his fearful shock as he panickedly mentions how that thing shouldnt be there, about how he knows to call it a Pyramid even though he has never seen it before. The mere sight of the Pyramid invokes a primal response on our Ghost, and he slurrs his speech as he worriedly mentions how he can feel the Pyramid invading his Light.

Do remember that our Ghost is the key to our success as a Guardian. He is the insurance that we will come back should we be killed, he heals us during combat, provides information warfare, etc etc etc.

To see our most significant ally and closest friend be violated in such a helpless way, when not even Oryx or Xol could, is incredibly unsettling to me.

As the campaign progresses, we catch a glimpse of the Pyramid once more when we descend into the depths of the Hellmouth in order to retrieve the Hive Lectern we need for our mission. Here we see the Pyramid in its full majesty, and it is absolutely massive.

And it is just sitting in silence. It is active. It knows we are there. It can read our minds. It has created Nightmares to haunt us.

A fleet of these things demolished our civilization centuries ago. Sent the Traveler into a coma it has not recovered from to this day.

And it is there. Watching. At any moment it could erase us from existence. And it just watches. You are in the mouth of the universe´s apex predator. And it is content to just play with you.

The Nightmares dont even feel like the extent of its power. It just toys with us. It makes us suffer, makes us relieve the past over and over and over again as the Nightmares can never be defeated truly as long as it still stands.

And it does so in the cruelest way possible. Eris is haunted by the incessant voices of her fireteam. Of the friends she failed and had to abandon in the depths in order to survive. And the Pyramid knows, and it is amusing to it.

Then comes the final mission. We have gone to great effort to craft a suit of armor which will allow us to finally challenge the Pyramid. The proposition of going inside this eldritch monstrosity is before us, and although we might be afraid, we cannot sit idly and watch or escape in fear.

As we approach the Pyramid, ready to end this threat once and for all, the Pyramid takes our Ghost.

Our Ghost, essentially our soul, our closest friend, is completely taken over by the Pyramid in the most casual way possible. Compromising our Ghost and essentially neutralizing any threat we might pose to it is the easiest of tasks for the Pyramid.

Ghost cannot even struggle or protest as he is completely dominated in an instant.

We are now in the Pyramid´s grasp.

We are helpless. If it wanted to kill us it could do so. If it wanted to reduce our Ghost to atoms it could do so.

We are at the mercy of the Pyramid. We have never been so helpess. Not against gods, not against the Cabal without our Light.

And instead it welcomes us inside.

We now find ourselves in the most potentially hostile territory we have ever found ourselves in. We are inside an avatar of the Darkness. Inside a destroyer of worlds and species.

Without our Ghost or a possibility of backup or evac.

    And it knows.

It doesnt see us as a threat. We are an ant in its thumb.

It can squish at any time.

And it speaks with the voice of our friend. A cold tone, devoid of any emotion.

As we defeat the Nightmares the Pyramid prepares for us, it uses our friend´s voice to state the faults of our Light.

It does not state them in anger. It does not state them in hatred.

It states them with the coldness of a professor reading a history book.

    It is just fact.

If we try to explore the oppressive architecture, the Pyramid simply blocks our path. We are going down the path it desires us to go. Seeing what it wants us to see.

And then we find the artifact. The Pyramid wants us to take it.

This is obviously a trap, but what else can you do? Your Ghost is essentially being held hostage. You have no way out. To refuse would be surely to die futilely.

Better to do what it asks in the hopes of being released. Better to accept defeat and live another day.

We grab the artifact, and the Pyramid is pleased.

We now find ourselves in a vision of the Black Garden.

We turn back, and in the sky we see them.

We as players have known since D2 vanilla, but our Player Guardian is just finding this out.

This ship which easily has proven itself the most formidable opponent we have ever faced.

    Is just one ship.

    Out of a fleet.

The Pyramid now takes our form and speaks to us.

It speaks with calm, with nonchalance, with a casualness that almost seems insulting.

    "We are your salvation"

And with that, we are unceremoniously thrown out of the ship.

No grand finale. No grand conclusion. No epic battle of wills between us and the Pyramid.

We lost, the Pyramid won. We couldnt stop the Nightmares, and now theyre spreading to the rest of the System.

And it did so with casual ease.

The greatest Guardian to have ever lived couldnt even leave a scratch on its hull.

Ive never felt so small before in a videogame. This is a truly Lovecraftian antagonist that youve got on your hands Bungie, good job on creating it and Im excited to see how this will keep unraveling in the future!

I fear that when Ghost transitioned from Dinklebot to Northbot, parts of his memory were corrupted

Upon hunting the Nightmare of Phogoth, Ghost claims that the massive ogre didn't scare us the first time, but I definitely remember hiding in the doorway the first time I entered those godforsaken summoning pits

    Apply barrier to the Arbalest

    Posted: 05 Oct 2019 07:23 AM PDT

Apply the barrier mod to the Arbalest, it's an exotic that is designed to combat enemy shields so it's fitting that is has it (Similar to Eriana's Vow). Anyhow the change is simple and would improve the viability of using it in places such as the ordeal, making it an ideal weapon to deal with barrier using combatants with its range and perks for combating shields.

The barrier mod would improve the usage, viability and status of the Arbalest making it ideal to use in tough activities such as the ordeal.

THIS NEEDS MORE ATTENTION! Day 5 of the PC migration from Battlenet to Steam disaster.

    Posted: 05 Oct 2019 01:24 PM PDT

This is not getting any attention anywhere, but it is a serious game breaking problem that hundreds of us are having. I'm going to try to explain here what is going on, please give this post some attention, Bungie has been effectively ignoring us with zero updates on this issue for 5 days now.

I'm going to preface this by saying:

Yes we did follow the steps for the PC migration before October 1st. Personally, I attempted to transfer my account more than a week ago. The PC Move site stated that the migration was a success so I thought all was well and waited for Oct. 1st to come around. While logging onto Steam on Oct. 1st I was greeted with a create a character screen. None of my characters or DLC licences carried over to Steam.

Here is what the step by step process looks like for those of us experiencing this problem.

So basically I can't play the game with the characters I have sunk hundreds of hours into. But it isn't just me, by looking at the forums it seems that hundreds if not thousands of other players are experiencing the same exact issue. Just look at the top trending posts at the Bungie Help forum and you'll see how widespread this is.

It has been 5 days now and we have received nothing but silence from Bungie. The raid is going on today but many of us cannot participate in the day 1 attempts. Hell we're so far behind we wont even be ready for the raid for multiple days after it's release, and that's if this problem ever gets fixed in the first place. WE STILL CAN'T PLAY.

The people dealing with this issue are people who bought the game, bought the DLCs, and have stuck around to support the game even after many people have moved on. We are some of Bungie's most loyal customers and we don't even get enough respect from Bungie for them to give us any sort of update on this issue for 5 days straight.

Please help this gain more attention. We need answers or at least an update from Bungie. I understand that this is obviously a difficult enough problem for them to not be able to fix it after 5 days, but it's the silence that is unacceptable.

    EDIT:

I'm literally receiving threats and all sorts of name calling and shaming over this. My bad for not being satisfied with how Bungie has treated me and hundreds of other paying customers for the last 5 days. Quite the community we've got here guys. I hope you guys enjoy where ever this game ends up, but this is it for me.

    FINAL EDIT:

Yes, as many of you have stated, they have "acknowledged" the issue. However, the only acknowledgement we have received is that they are "investigating reports on the issue" and that we should "try again". They are actually telling us after 5 days with this problem to just "try again". As a paying customer, to me that is not an acceptable response. To me that is silence, in fact I'm willing to bet that this will be swept under the rug if and when this issue is resolved.

My intent when creating this post was to bring the community on reddit together, to raise enough awareness, and to hopefully urge Bungie into giving us a more substantial response than "try again". Instead, all I have received are threats, name calling, shaming, and various other types of abuse from this community. Like I've responded to a few of you with your nasty comments, I hope you enjoy your time with Shadowkeep friends.

Spoiler - Titans can break part of the first encounter in GoS.

    Posted: 05 Oct 2019 12:51 PM PDT

    Spoiler!!!!

In the first encounter of Garden of Salvation you normally can't take more than one Voltaic Charge.

    Unless...

You're a Sentinel Titan with a Defender Shield (only tested with middle tree). If you have a timer, and want to pick up every single other charge that spawns: pop your super, block, pick it up. That's it. Every one you pick up after that, so long as you still have the timer counting down (you'll notice it now says x2 charge), will not kill you. Yeah. You're welcome, Titans. It's our time to shine.

Please reduce the muzzle flash on the Arc Logic AR.

    Posted: 05 Oct 2019 04:55 PM PDT

iI find when you ADS and fire continiously, the muzzle flashes are too intense.

    I cannot use this gun.

If I need to find a different Arc AR then I will need to use the Misfit for now.
