When Riskrunner became a quest reward, did it occur to anyone that it should have been taken out of the loot pool like all the other quest exotics?

    Posted: 29 Nov 2019 08:38 AM PST

4 exotic engrams in, 3 risk runners. It's the little things they miss that are sometimes the most annoying.

Just drag and drop that shit out of the RNG folder please. Probably not how it works though.

Edit: thank you kind gold giving stranger. May your rng be protected from dupes

Solo Flawless Every Secret Timed Mission & Dungeon Back-to-Back, No Wipes/Restarts

    Posted: 29 Nov 2019 07:16 AM PST

    Video Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yydf7Nx_LOo

Solo flawless each activity in this order:

    1. Heroic Whisper of the Worm Timed Secret Mission
    2. Shattered Throne Dungeon
    3. Heroic Zero Hour Timed Secret Mission
    4. Pit of Heresy Dungeon

No deaths, wipes, or restarts are allowed for marathon challenges. Ex. If a death occurs AT ANY POINT, you must start over again from the Whisper mission.

We did NOT include the Bad JuJu activity, as I did not put that mission on the same level as the other four. Reasons being:

    1. It's not a timed or secret mission. It can easily be loaded in a "social" space.
    2. It's really not too difficult, doesn't have a true boss fight with mechanics, and has no darkness zones.
    3. Technically, it's an Adventure anyways.

The Whisper mission and Zero Hour clearly stand far and superior to the Bad JuJu adventure, in both difficulty and scope.

Had a TON of fun with this, just playing around and goofing off. Thanks to everyone who kept me sane during runs :)

Getting MW armor from Pit of Heresy is super satisfying. The stats however, are not.

    Posted: 29 Nov 2019 03:12 PM PST

Getting a consistent source of Masterworked armor from a challenging, endgame activity is a super satisfying loop, it gives players a reason to jump in every week no matter the Power level.

However, the dreambane armor stats cant seem to roll above 55 (at least thats been my luck) and thats kind of defeating the purpose of the armor dropping masterworked. Because youre really only getting stats 2-3 points above other endgame armors possible stat total. Besides the mod slots, the armor in its current state is only really serving as a time efficent way of getting 18 prisms and cores weekly. Which kind of sucks.

Could we have a secondary set of Dreambane armor that rolls high? or even just increase its stat total possibilities?

    Just my two cents.

Oy Bungo. Your free stuff tables at your HQ made my day!

    Posted: 29 Nov 2019 03:19 PM PST

Meeting a friend in Bellevue for lunch, found out we were right next door to the HQ, and the guard at the desk was nice enough to let us look at the trophy cases and props.

Turns out there were also office renovations happening, and they had a few tables of old posters and lanyards they were giving away.

    Got both of these!

    Thanks again!

Can We Get Loadout Saves Please?

    Posted: 29 Nov 2019 05:44 AM PST

I'm sure it's been said many times, but even more so now with the added build features, we really could do with saving loadouts. It;s a nightmare trying to work out which pieces are for which build, especially when ornaments make all the icons the same.

In D1 I used shaders (purple void, blue arc etc) but there's no preview for them so at best it let me know when I had the wrong piece on... my Mayhem loadout is bright pink right now :P

Saving loadouts would be great for item management and great for the people who like to switch on the fly/mid fight

EDIT: I should have added, I am aware of DIM but don't find that viable for us console players. Great on the PC for managing the vault, but on a phone was crap. Ishtar has been recommended I'll have a look - however, this is a basic core element of any looter shooter and really should be in game

bungie, please decrease the amount of muzzle flash when using some auto rifles.

    Posted: 29 Nov 2019 07:05 PM PST

I made an album showing various auto rifles and the extent of their muzzle flashes. Some are way more usable than others simply because either the sight is farther away from the barrel or the flash has been drastically reduced. I feel the biggest offenders of this are Missfit and Arc logic (This one makes no sense at all considering the fact that it has an integrated suppressor). I included some pictures of smgs mid spray to show how much of a difference the size of the muzzle flash makes in sight picture, which is critical for tracking targets while aiming down sights. I also feel like the most disruptive part of these large muzzle flashes is how they act as a strobe light, resetting the image of what you are trying to track.

I would also say that these photos are exactly that, photos. Muzzle flashes in this game are completely animated, meaning it is possible to get pictures where no flash is present, which I have tried to include some photos of to show the contrast between the two.

During season of Opulence, SMGs received an adjustment to the position and height of the first person model in order to increase usability of the weapon. (or to make them feal more "distinct" from auto rifles, could not find the patch notes about it.) I honestly do not see a reason why the community would react negatively about these changes, increasing the usability of these weapons without adjusting the stats seems like a double win from both a balance pov and from a user pov. (Although precision frame auto rifles need some sort of a buff in pvp.)

Shadowkeep as come and gone, and Huckleberry's Rampage still needs to be renamed to reflect its different bonuses relative to other guns with Rampage

    Posted: 29 Nov 2019 04:08 PM PST

I brought this up before Shadowkeep dropped, assuming that Bungie would actually, y'know, do it. Not because I suggested it, but because they've done something similar in the past, when they changed Whisper's Box Breathing to Whispered Breathing to reflect how the perk was not nerfed. I don't mean to double-dip on karma, but I really do think this needs to be addressed.

Basically, Rampage was nerfed from 22/44/66% damage boost to 10/20/30%. The numbers might be off, but I remember them being around this level. While the perk was nerfed like this, Huckleberry's Rampage perk was explicitly left alone. This is one of the reasons why Huckleberry is such a great gun right now.

Despite the two perks being listed as individual perks in the database (selecting the second Rampage only displays Huckleberry), their names, icons and descriptions are identical. This is confusing for people who aren't no-life nerds like anyone on this sub, and therefore don't realize that Huckleberry's version of Rampage is more than twice as powerful as the regular one.

And naturally, as u/Im_Alzaea pointed out, the perk should be renamed to "Yeehaw."

    Title Stereotypes: Part 1

    Posted: 29 Nov 2019 09:42 AM PST

Before I start just kind of, spewing nonsense and/or garbage, stereotypes do not define everybody. The purpose of this is purely to entertain, and thus will slightly exaggerate traits for the sake of entertainment.

    The Dredgen-

    -Probably a 12 year old

    -Black and Red Shader

    -Spiky Armor

    -Probably overestimates their skill

-Only uses pinnacle weapons. Exotic weapon is always heavy. If you see them in Gambit they will have Truth equipped.

-Will always try to invade in Gambit

-Try to force others into roles they could fill, but don't want to play because 'support roles can't carry'

-Unironically calls people 'Boomers' or other meme terms and think it's a good insult

-Username is usually either an Anime Character's name, or some combination of assassin/shadow related words

    The Wayfayer-

-Usually a pretty chill dude/dudette. They're not the best or the worst at the game, but they're pretty solid and have certainly put lots of time into the game.

-Has a raging hate boner for the 'Strange Terrain' strike

-Are usually pretty willing to help out with quests and grinding out activities

-Usually have some sort of wacky subclass build that somehow works really well for some unknown reason

    Rivensbane-

-They either love Last Wish, or hate it with a burning passion. Either way, they know all of the ins and outs of the raid and could probably do Petra's Run blindfolded

-Hate the RNG associated with 1k voices and the other raid cosmetics

-50/50 chance they either don't know how to do normal Riven at all, or know it like the back of their hand.

-They absolutely 100% use Taken Armaments for everything

    Cursebreaker-

-They essentially have Wallhacks for the entirety of the Dreaming City and know where everything is -Despise the sparrow, ghost, and ship rng and will probably rant to you about how awful it is.

-Give these guys a hug. RNG sucks.

    Unbroken-

-Never miss a single shot and are probably using at least 1 crucible pinnacle weapon, or Last Word

-They are in one of two cults, the Cult of Shaxx, and the Cult of CammyCakes

-Either despise One Eyed Mask, or use it themselves

-If you see them in Gambit, there's about an 80% chance of being boned by Twilight Oath the second you peek their sightline

So.... yeah. Let me know what you guys think, or if I should go over the remaining half or not. Have a great one y'all~

Destiny has now had eleven pieces of horde mode-esque content. Why has it still not had a proper horde mode?

    Posted: 29 Nov 2019 06:20 AM PST

"Proper" as in an infinite horde mode with difficulty that scales up the longer you survive.

Prison of Elders, Court of Oryx, Archon's Forge, Escalation Protocol, Blind Well, Haunted Forest, Forges, Reckoning, Menagerie, Verdant Forest, Vex Offensive. That's eleven pieces of content made to mimic a horde mode. Yet none of it actually functions as a proper horde mode - it's all limited, sending out a few waves at you and having a defined end point. The only exceptions have been the Haunted Forest and Verdant Forest, but the former became literally impossible to continue on far too quickly, and the latter was far too easy and pointless.

This model for content is quickly growing stale. We don't need a fake horde mode with every single content drop. Instead of giving us a twelfth, why doesn't Bungie finally implement a real horde mode? Something like Firefight from Bungie's own previous franchise. They have a ton of longevity and replay value even without rewards attached, after all.

Ascendant shard economy is completely busted ATM and need a complete revamp.

    Posted: 29 Nov 2019 02:27 AM PST

    THE PROBLEM

So you can only get ascendant shards from master nightfalls. The only other resource is to buy it from banshee (other then 3 from season pass). The cost for each ascendant shard is 10 prism and 50k glimmer.1prism cost 10 enhancement cores.Thats equivalent to 100 enhancement cores .To make all gear on one character masterwork you need 5 ascendant shards (7 if using one exotic),this is equivalent to 500/700 cores. This is just for one set of a build.Just multiply by the number of builds you run and the characters you have .Not to mention this doesn't include the cost for planetary materials. So if a person is unable to farm high score nightfalls he won't be able to masterwork his Armor.

    SOLUTION

    • Ascendant shards should be made available from other activities .For e.g Iron banner ,Resetting valor/glory ranks (limit per week)(2 shards) ,Infamy rank reset (3 shards)
    • Raids, Master nightfalls should have chance of dropping a completely masterworked armor.Currently PoH drops one MW Armor but that's of low stats so getting a high stat MW Armor would be really rewarding.
    • Exotics requiring 3 shards should grants us some special perk after masterwork like 15 energy total, one extra slot etc.
    • Refund of items on dismantling MW Armor should give us at least 8 prisms and 15 k glimmer .Exotic MW dismantling should give 2 shards ,5 prism and 5 cores along with glimmer .

EDIT: People saying don't ask the game to made easy. I don't think this will make game easy .I am talking about the fidelity to use multiple builds, isn't that what Bungie wants. FYI I have 250+ hrs in shadowkeep alone and more than 1500 hrs in D2.If I am struggling with shards economy I can only imagine what other people who have far less play time will do.

EDIT 2: I Think people are missing the point as they are saying farm the NF and if you can't you don't deserve etc.But what I want to emphasize is that different activities and different playstyle should be awarded with shards also along with NF.

The Iron Banner bounty for ability kills needs to go.

    Posted: 29 Nov 2019 08:40 AM PST

I'm tired of Iron Banner forcing you to play certain loadouts just to be able to reasonably get the bounty done before the end of the week.

Bounties for kills, caps, stuff like that? Great! That's what you should be doing anyway! You can just play IB and you'll grind those out.

But the ability kills one is always the worst because it takes so long and restricts you from certain subclasses.

What's a great Titan Super for control? Ward of Dawn. What Super is the absolute worst for getting ability kills? Ward of Dawn. So even though I want to be a bubble boi in IB and just hold down areas, I can't, because I'd never get that bounty done.

I have to look at my subclasses and gear and find the one that can get the most cheesy ability kills as possible. And that's not a good feeling.

I'm fairly sure Nova Warp Warlocks are overrepresented in IB just because they all know they can put on Contraverse Hold and get easy Handheld Supernova kills to grind out this particular bounty. I'm a bit partial to the top tree Nova Bomb myself, but that's a lot harder to get Super kills with (you're often just getting one or two) so...yeah, like I said, I feel like the bounty is making certain subclasses feel unplayable because even though they're good, they're not especially adept at getting ability kills.

I want that bounty to be something else or at least reduce the required amount by half. Ability kills are not something all subclasses can do equally, and IB would be more fun if I could just play what works rather than what gets cheesy ability kills.

This bounty is always completed last, so by the time I can play whatever subclass I want...all my bounties are done and I'm sick of IB.

The tower apparently has a phone number?

    Posted: 29 Nov 2019 09:21 PM PST

I was messing around in the tower today, and remembered the room people found when Black Armory and the Annex were released. I got really frustrated when I remembered that that room never actually lead to anything, and was essentially forgotten. I went over to it and saw a number on the vehicles that resembles a phone number.

I couldn't actually call this number, so it may just be something totally unrelated, but either way, I refuse to believe that the secret room in the Annex is a dead-end mystery.

Machine-Gun ammo finder is extremely powerful in combination with the Xenophage.

    Posted: 29 Nov 2019 02:20 PM PST

While most guns only get a tiny amount of ammo, usually 1 shot, Xenophage with its other ammo perks gets 6-7 shots, which is around 20% of its total ammo.

This means that ammo finder can nearly constantly keep you topped up on heavy ammo as you get these ammo finder bricks pretty often. (I believe it is around every 30 kills gets you a heavy ammo finder brick.)

With the 50% buff coming to Xenophage I feel like this will have the potential to be a great weapon with how often it has full ammo with this setup.

Recently, a buddy of mine finally got his hands on Not forgotten, and I was extremely happy for him. I'd watched the ups and downs of his solo comp grind, and when I saw that he'd done it, I almost cheered. I was absolutely ecstatic for him... until the next time we went into quickplay.

The moment the first match started, he played as if it were competitive- looking at loadouts before the match began, watching the spawns and weighing the pros and cons, guarding heavy like a madman, the list goes on.

It took a few seconds before he realized he was playing that hard, and for the rest of the time he was struggling to get himself out of the competitive mindset. I can't say he succeeded.

For the entire time we played, his voice sounded hollow and empty, regardless of how well he was doing. I was concerned; usually, we'd have a lot of fun in quickplay. I brought it up later in a private match, and the conversation moved towards the competitive experience as a whole.

From what he told me, it wasn't pleasant.

In the higher levels, he was forced to use loadouts that weren't fun, but effective- Wormhusk/Arc Battery, for example. If he used anything else, he wouldn't have survived. In his words, he "became the things he hated the most."

He fought the same things over and over and over again to the point that even mentioning them would sour his mood, much less encountering them. We went against someone who was head glitching, and he tilted faster than I've ever seen before. I asked him why, and he told me that it was because of how many times he'd seen it.

He learned everything there was to learn about crucible, to the point that he could predict my spawns on Midtown. The kicker?

Midtown isn't even in the competitive rotation.

At first, he was excited to play comp, but by the end, wasn't having fun at all. It just became try, try, try. Now that the grind is over, crucible is forever changed for him, and it makes me sad to see it.

I asked him if it was even fun anymore, and he told me this: "When you're able to pretty much call out everyone's tactics just by seeing what weapons they're using... where's the fun in that?"

    That's why I wrote this.

In my eyes, his viewpoint poses a question about competitive: 'do you want to be the best, or do you want to enjoy the Crucible?' That isn't a choice that I think players should have to make.

Of course, his viewpoint isn't the only viewpoint out there, and before I make a claim that competitive has a bad effect on crucible as a whole, I want as general an outlook as I can possibly get.

So, to all of you who've attained Not Forgotten, How did it feel, that moment when Shaxx handed you the gun you worked so hard for? How did you feel afterwards? Feel free to ramble on as long as you want.

I love Destiny's PvP but the connection issues are starting to push me away from the game.

Hope they do something about this in the near future.

In the mean time is there anyway i can avoid the ping fest lobbies?

Increase resource amounts able to be purchased from Spider.

With the opportunity to purchase upgrade modules, enhancement prisms, and ascendant shards for materials I'd like to see larger increments than just 5. Similar to the shader dismantle issue a while ago it just takes too much time if I want a few hundred of any resource. It'd be nice if you can buy 50 for 10 legendary shards and would save me several minutes here and there.

Destiny 2 is still missing all these things from destiny 1

    Posted: 29 Nov 2019 09:57 PM PST

We are in the third year of destiny 2. At this point in destiny 1's lifecycle we had:

    Regular strike scoring

    Strike specific loot

    Trials

    Permanent factions

Choice of weapon or armor on rank ups

    Auto dismantle of engrams

And I'm sure I'm missing more. All this being said, I think destiny 2 is a better game than destiny 1 was at this point but a lot of these qol things would be more appreciated, to me, than a vex offensive activity.
