Okay so we have numerical stats on our Armor 2.0; now can we add in numerical stats instead of just a white bar for weapons too

Pretty much title. I know that i don't like going on Ishtar or DIM to view numbers all the time. I think it would be a pretty decent QoL update

PLUS: I completed Randy's and my Jade Rabbit catalyst. It's great.

Please keep it in the loop, Bungie. Great work!

Do NOT spend money to level your alts. My alt characters went from untouched to 946 without leaving orbit.

    Posted: 03 Nov 2019 03:01 PM PST

If you have one character at 950, you can pull armor pieces from collections that will continually go up in power until they cap at 895.

Now go through the seasonal pass and grab all the armor pieces for that character (start with the higher ranks and click everything you haven't clicked and then lastly collect the full armor set from rank 1.

If you don't have the seasonal pass you can spend mats at vendors and get armor pieces until you hit 946

Opinion: The Shattered Throne needs a weekly pinnacle and flawless emblem like Pit of Heresy.

    Posted: 03 Nov 2019 02:45 PM PST

Title, but since I can't edit it, "weekly pinnacle gear".

Don't know if someone has posted about this already (and it might be a little early to point this out given how short a time Pit of Heresy has been out). Figured it was better as Discussion too; I don't usually like to post BUNGIE PLZ type stuff because it can be seen as annoying, but, I noticed this discrepancy. It pales in comparison to other 'major' D2 issues, but this is something I've noticed as a fan of D2 dungeons.

TL;DR The Shattered Throne has little replayability after finishing all its triumphs and earning the exotic quest and completion tracker emblem tied to it. Bar none, it is one of the best activities in the game with some awesome rewards— yet it doesn't have a flawless tracker emblem or weekly pinnacle gear tied to it like Pit of Heresy does. Why?

That should be changed; The Shattered Throne should also have weekly pinnacle gear and a flawless emblem just like Pit of Heresy.

I won't beat a dead horse, this is a quick and simple post. I just don't want The Shattered Throne to be forgotten and treated like a "good old days" activity when it's a fantastic experience.

Edit: for clarity ( thanks for the clarity, u/luvhmr ): The emblem that players who have earned it is one that should come from the "Seriously, Never Again" Triumph run, that tracks respective solo flawless completions. My bad for anyone who was led astray or was unclear on that.

Edit #2: Here's what I'm gathering from this discussion so far:

    • The Shattered Throne is old content, it doesn't need to be brought up to the standards of new content. By extension, pinnacle gear doesn't have any use for ST runs, the same way it does for Shadowkeep/current season content.

    • However, people seem to agree for the most part that if a player flawlessly ran Shattered Throne, they should get a Triumph score and the solo flawless emblem to show for it.

I'm hoping that's an accurate observation of the general mindset, anyway. I'm interested to hear more of everyone's insights to keep shaping the discussion.

Edit #3: This is a quick edit but reminder I'm not asking for anything from Bungie (yet, though I don't think I plan to do any Bungie Plz's at any point, that's just me); I'm just gathering opinions and wanted to open up a discussion about a valid topic. Thanks.

Edit #4: I should reiterate this, because people seem to be under the wrong impression about the intention of the thread overall.

I'm not looking to encite action to get this changed immediately (again, not yet until I can word this issue better), But I am looking for people's constructive thoughts on this matter. I know I'd like to see it changed, but there are people out there who may agree or disagree. This is an open thread to share those opinions.

(Also, as a minor update, it seems the majority of this thread can at least agree on the fact The Shattered Throne deserves a solo flawless tracker emblem, rather than the aggregate tracker emblem after your first solo.)

Dreambane armor drops from the dungeon should have at minimum 55 stat roll.

    Posted: 03 Nov 2019 08:49 AM PST

Title. Currently every single dreambane armor drop i get is immediately dismantled due to it being sub 52. Rest of my gear is 58-60.

I really like the Dreambane armor set (am warlock). So put this in consideration.

Let's put all that excess Glimmer to good use!

    Posted: 03 Nov 2019 03:00 PM PST

Right now, the Glimmer caps at 250k. I can't be bothered to go back to the Tower to buy something I have enough of ( probably Raid Banners) before I finish what I'm doing.

Why not have any Glimmer that would be earned go towards the City Restoration Fund?

I'm not sure how much Glimmer the community would generate in any amount of time.

    But

Let's say every 1 billion Glimmer that goes into the fund, the community gets a Bright Engram or Legendary Engram.

It could be a monthly event. Once 1 billion Glimmer is reached the event is over and we got our engram, we have to wait until next month.

    Thoughts?

    Posted: 03 Nov 2019 08:44 AM PST

I've been seeing a bunch of post of people trying to charge you for recluse help and I gotta say it's not worth paying people for it. Playing competitive by yourself with the new point system is pretty easy to the point where winning 1 games means you need to lose 16 games to lose the points you got from the 1 win.... so in conclusion just go for it!! competitive isn't some big scary monster it's actually really fun specially if you equip a jötunn and get free kills.

SUROS invites you to recognize that Year 1 Weapons are no longer Legendary

    Posted: 03 Nov 2019 03:25 PM PST

    Good morning!

There is a TL;DR at the bottom if you would like a short version of this post.

    The Problem

Year 1 Weapons have a general level of inferiority present that is slowly rising as new features are added to new weapons. Forsaken introduced some features to its new weapons that Year 1 Weapons cannot utilize, causing all Year 1 Weapons to have reduced desirability. Some weapons still got use, like Midnight Coup. With the release of Shadowkeep and a greater dependency of Weapon Mods, Year 1 weapons have all but disappeared. With the reduced functionality, these weapons are no longer Legendary.

    Background

First, a bit about me. I used to have trouble sleeping. At night, I find it easy to nod off if I focus on things I like. I love video games. At my wedding, the first dance was replaced with a 'first game' (where I proceeded to crush my Wife's Ridley with my Peach). So, to fall asleep, I think about what I would do if I was a designer on the games I play most. I've been thinking about Year 1 weapons a lot lately.
There are 2 types of legendary weapons in the game. Year 1, and Year 2+. When Destiny 2 launched all weapons had static rolls, sans Masterwork bonus. This was implemented with the goal of reducing the RNG grind that was present in Destiny 1. A common example of bad RNG was grinding Undying Mind for a Fategriner roll of Imago Loop. I never got mine. I understand the goal, WoW currently suffers from a truly dark RNG grind. That said, Destiny 2's Year 1 weapons swung the pendulum too far in the wrong direction.
Bungie corrected this in Forsaken introducing a new weapon system and gave us a better balance of D1 and D2. A smaller perk pool than D1 but random rolls returned, weapons now have 4 perks instead of 3, and Weapon Mods were introduced. I think, as a whole, we feel pretty good about how Year 2+ weapons work. There are a few perks that I miss (Focused Fire on Auto Rifles!). As a side effect of the Year 2+ system, we can not claim these weapons from collections.
Forsaken also introduced Year 2 redux versions of a small handful of Year 1 weapons. Most Year 1 Weapons have not been granted a Year 2+ version.

    Possible Solutions

Minimum Viable Product - Add a Mods slot onto Year 1 weapons: This removes the largest lair of interiority from Year 1 weapons. Implementing this solution would bring the cream of the Year 1 crop out of vaults ... for a while. Mightnight Coup could come out for 1 last hurrah. That said, with this change only, I suspect that even Midnight Coup would eventually return to its place as "Safe Queen"

95% of a solution - Add a static 4th Perk to Year 1 Weapons (and Mods slot): Now we're cooking with gasoline. Adding a static 4th perk to Year 1 Weapons in addition to the Mods slot removes a second large layer of inferiority from these weapons, while still retaining the claim from collections ability. It might be fun to involve the community in selecting each weapon's missing perk. A problem here though is that now you're so close Year 2+ form, that the missing piece, the Masterwork, might just be a lair of confusion. This leads me to my recommended solution.

They're Great! - Convert Year 1 weapons to Year 2+ static rolls: Year 2+ weapons that do not have random rolls can be claimed from collections like Rose or Exit Strategy. Grant all Year 1 weapons an appropriate 4th perk, a pre-selected Masterwork, and a Mods slot. Update their collections cost to match and bam! You've brought many Year 1 Weapons back into the game. For players that weren't here in Year 1, add them back to loot pools, or maybe as rewards for doing campaign missions. My Wife's favorite Year 1 weapon was Scathlok. We'd love to see it with a Rangefinder perk, handling masterwork and be able to put a Quick Access Sling on it.

The Darkest Timeline - Convert Icons and Text to Blue: If no changes are to be made to these weapons mechanically, then we could at least update the cosmetic purple icon and text to match what these weapons truly are. Blues. Maybe decrease the dismantle time?

    Possible Problem

It would be remiss of me to not mention possible problems. I'm not entirely sure I won a single Trials of the Nine game. Subsequently, I never collected Judgement (https://www.light.gg/db/items/2850415209/judgment/) and many other Trials weapons. I also supported Future War Cult, and never collected Gravity Slingshot, and so many other Faction weapons. (https://www.light.gg/db/items/1277015089/gravity-slingshot/) Should these weapons become obtainable again? If not, how do we handle one of these becoming meta again?

    Conclusion

A coworker played Destiny 2 for the first time a few weeks ago. He worried about doing old content that doesn't give relevant gear. I told him that isn't how Destiny works. He said his friends took him to a raid right after he did the intro. He said he was in a crazy cool gold city, with fat guys in a poison bathtub. The Leviathan. It occurred to me then that he was in one of the few places where he is actually collecting irrelevant weapons. How is it that one of the few places you can go in D2 and get something that isn't helpful is the pinnacle of Year 1 of Destiny 2? That is broken, and I'm hopeful he only collected armor. If he got his hands on a Ghost Primus, he is going to have to put it down.

    TL;DR

Year 1 weapons being available to claim from collections is a useful feature that I believe players do not want to lose, but most of these weapons do not have Year 2+ versions, greatly reducing their usability. Some are sorely missed. Please implement a solution that allows Year 1 weapons access to Year 2 features, in order of priority, Mods, 4th perk, Year 2+ style Masterworking, while still allowing them to be claimed from collections. As it stands right now, Year 1 Weapons are not Legendary.
    Thanks for your time!

Bungie, people like Altar of Sorrows. Make Y2 EP weapons, remove weekly key thing for armor and increase light Requirements for Escalation Protocol, to make it into current activity.

    Posted: 03 Nov 2019 12:05 AM PDT

Altar Shows that people like these kind of big "Events", that take longer than shooting big blight.

Dont leave EP behind. Its a great activity, held back by Y1 loot design Decisions.

All things are already in game. Dont sleep on them.

What is it with Eris and 'sending us deep into the hellmouth in order to retrieve an obscure bit of Hive Magic that will allow us to pass into a place that only the hive can go unless Eris can use the hive's magic to make us seem like the hive, but the mission goes horribly wrong and it ultimately results in us sprinting through a dark hallway past thousands of hive that are all shooting at us, desperately attempting to avoid getting shot until finally we get out to a point where Eris can contact us and we can escape safely.'

450 auto rifles are absolute shite and need a buff.

    Posted: 03 Nov 2019 01:30 AM PST

Seriously they deal the same damage per hit as a 900 rpm SMG while having half the fire rate and their range isn't enough to make up for it.

450s need atleast a 25% damage buff in PvE

There is a lot of emotes right now in the game and an emote wheel is a no brainer...

    Posted: 03 Nov 2019 05:31 AM PST

sometimes I want to use an emote Not the one on my D-pad like "I'm open" emote for some activities, they should do 1 button for the emote wheel and the other 3 you can assign for quick access like "Stylish Sit" and my favorite from SOS raid "Luxurious Toast".

Get Max Heavy With One Finisher

    Posted: 03 Nov 2019 10:25 AM PST

    Hey r/DestinyTheGame,

While grinding for Edgewise, I found a way to get max heavy from any finisher.

For this, you will need to be using the Heavy Finisher Mod and a grenade that branches out to hit multiple enemies, I used the firebolt grenade from Dawnblade.

Then, all you need to do is bring all enemies you want to drop heavy to a low health level. After that throw your grenade and immediately use your finisher. All enemies within the grenade will die and drop heavy.

I have tested this multiple times, including in the tribute hall, and got four heavy bricks to drop from one finisher in certain situations.

    Proof

Edit: It looks like a process because I had to move the enemies closer. In game it is pretty fluent and takes a second to prepare

Edit 2: Here is it in action in a Gambit match. Got only 2 kills with my nade, but it is pretty easy to do this glitch

Edit 3: Any enemy that is killed by you while in the finisher animation will drop the ammo

Can Hunter Throwing Knives get a little love? At all?

    Posted: 03 Nov 2019 10:44 AM PST

It's been 3 or 4 fucking seasons of OEM, but a full fucking 3+ years of OHK Shoulder Charges.

Titans get Synthoceps, Peregrine Greaves, Peacekeepers, Stand Asides, Doomfang Paulies, all these fantastic Exotics that compliment and down right make their Shoulder Charges even deadlier! The best part : a lot of these Exotics aren't even tied to a specific subclass so you can actually play what you want while keeping your favorite melee ability.

Hunters have...Ophidia Spathe for two knife charges and oh, Assassin's Cowl to make us invisible. Liar's Handshake is only usable to Arc Striders and Khepri's Sting (on top of being a massive joke) is only usable to Nightstalkers. I've been using Liar's Handshake almost religiously since I got it last season because it actually allows my melee to feel good. But this is about Throwing Knives.

Shoulder Charge is a guaranteed kill on basically anything living below 9 or 10 resilience. Hell, it might even kill through 10 resilience. Aping out as a Titan with Synthoceps in Crucible is legitimately fun. And power to you guys. Hell, Warlocks can literally have a Hadouken with your name on it cooking around the corner. In fact, both Titans and Warlocks have exotics that make even their barricade or rift damage people!

(Now, I'm not asking for a hilarious Hunter Exotic that allows us to roll into our enemies to deal damage but you get the point - Hunters really don't have much going for them in terms of Exotics that compliment gameplay that aren't directly sewn at the side to a specific subclass.)

Now onto the actual Throwing Knife ability.

Gunslinger Hunters can hit a headshot Throwing Knife and not even strip a full shield off a person. Literally the most skill required melee skill in the entire game and it's not even that rewarding. A fucking exploding knife literally in your skull isn't a guaranteed kill in the Destiny universe.

Cayde took an Ace of Spades shot to the heart and died but a literal exploding blade buried in your head, sometimes even between the eyes, is something you can walk off, apparently. HOW SWAY?!

Don't get me started on early D2 where literally your framerate determined when the explosion would even go off.

With guns with literal .5 second ttks, Handheld Supernovas, Shoulder Charges, using a Throwing Knife in Crucible might just get you killed off the animation time alone. Hell, choosing to throw your knife instead of reloading nowadays will probably get you killed and not clean up the fight. It's supposed to be risky and I get that but when you land that heady with the knife and your opponent just lols, closes the distance, punches you in the face and you die? Not a great feeling.

But Hunters can get their melee ability back instantly with a dodge! It'd be broken!

In a game where we've had thousands upon thousands of complaints for OEM for an entire year with the slightest of actions taken against it, guns like the Recluse out in the wild, a season where there is literally Artifact mods that can make you Jesus for a split second or hit punch with the power of 12 Shaxx's, Handheld Supernovas and Shoulder Checks - please, miss me with that "iT wOuLd bE ImBALancEd!" shit.

So you have the High Risk factor but none of the reward. Maybe not a guaranteed kill on full health because I can already forsee the complaints, but at least a guaranteed kill on people with half-shields or less. Hell, I'd settle for an Exotic that increased the lethality of the Throwing Knife.

Are the changes I'm suggesting insane? Am I complaining about a non-problem? How would you guys fix/nerf/change Hunter Throwing Knives? Exotic suggestions? I'd love to hear from the community.

Bungie should make a Cabal Thresher strike boss.

Can you imagine fighting a huge modified Thresher or other Cabal ship that drops enemies on you and is just generally like an air fortress? That'd be so cool.

Here's why you're struggling with the Randy's Throwing Knife quest

    Posted: 03 Nov 2019 04:58 AM PST

There's been plenty of confusion, conjecture, and misinformation about how to progress the final part of the quest for Randy's Throwing Knife. The game does an awful job of explaining what it is looking for by editing down the actual requirements to fit into this one sentence: "Multikills Grant the most efficient process toward scout rifle final blows."

Tracking sites show that it wants 14,000 points, counting kills and medals. What isn't explained is that certain medals are weighted differently. Long story short, most medals give measly double-digit points — including the Field Scout medal — but the game gives 150 points of progress for these medals:

    • Close Encounters — Defeat two opponents at close range with a shotgun without switching weapons or reloading.

    • Mission Control — Defeat two opponents with long range, precision sniper rifle final blows without switching weapons or reloading.

    • Splash Damage — Defeat two or more opponents with a single rocket.

    • Regent — Defeat two or more opponents with a sword without switching weapons.

    • Make It Rain — With any machine gun, defeat three opponents without reloading or switching weapons.

    • Cold Fusion — In a single life, defeat two opponents with a fusion rifle.

    • Calculated Trajectory — In s single life, defeat three opponents with grenade launcher final blows.

Since many people are working on Mountaintop and Randy's simultaneously in the Momentum Control mode, they might make a buncha progress when they nab that Calculated Trajectory medal. The Field Scout medal — for five long range scout rifle kills — is harder to pull off and gives a fraction of the points, but those working on both quests might pick it up, too.

This is why some people report making no progress in a round. If you got twenty scout rifle kills, well, 14,000 divided by 20 ain't gonna move that percentage bar. It also explains why folks recommend going for the Cold Fusion medals, as they are the easiest 150-point medal to pull off.
