    Bungie Plz Addition: Buff Breakneck

u/fangtimes: "Why it should be added: As of right now, there seems to be a thread hitting the front page about buffing/unnerfing the Breakneck hitting the front page every other day and numerous low-effort threads being made about Breakneck. It is clear there is a loud vocalization from the community about buffing/unnerfing the Breakneck and these threads will keep popping up regardless if there is already a thread on the front page about it. Each of these threads offers no new information and they are devolving into standard complaint posts. These threads are drowning out other threads.

"Threads being about the same topic are fine and promote different views from coming out but really only when they offer new information. Whenever I read these threads they go along the lines of 'Breakneck is bad now and here's why' but then stops there. There really isn't more to say about Breakneck so the threads keep repeating themselves."

Bungie Plz Addition: Remove Weapons From The Fated Engram Loot Pool If All Random Drop Exotic Weapons Have Already Been Collected

    Modmail Discussion:

u/cyborganthro: "Why it should be added: The endgame of armor 2.0 is all about getting better stat rolls. Getting exotic weapon duplicates feels terrible since they can't have random rolls and can easily be pulled from collections. Xur provides nothing to endgame except the chance for higher rolls on exotic armor. There is already enough RNG in trying to get the right armor piece of the right elemental affinity with a high roll. Bungie has already acknowledged this feedback so hopefully adding it to Bungie Plz will remind them just how many people care about it."

On Warlock Stormtrance, holding down "fire" while casting the super bugs the super afterwards until fire button is released and re-pressed. Super health regeneration for top tree is also bugged....still

    Posted: 27 Nov 2019 11:07 AM PST

Stormtrance is still bugged months on from when this was brought to Bungies attention, the entire super is a bit of a buggy mess. The super acts as though it's working, but actually no damage is happening to players (super animation works, but zero damage in PvP), on top of that if you cast while in the air the super will sometimes not even work unless you touch the ground first. Then the ulti itself will sometimes randomly stop firing, where you have to re-engage the fire button once again just to get it working....by this time you are dead

Health regeneration on top tree is also bugged. If you activate your super while low on health, the health bar will appear to restore, but you can still take fatal damage for a few moments. The health bar is cosmetic for a few moments after initial super cast, and isn't lining up with you actual health regen.

The last bug is that you can get sniped mid teleport, so even though the sole purpose of using the blink on top tree is to close distance with your target the game is registering hits even through your teleport as though you've just run really fast toward the target...not blinked.

TL:DR Warlocks storm trance is still frustratingly bugged 4 months on from when this bought up here

Since Solar Subclasses are being reworked, can DoT grenades like Solar and Vortex stack with each other. Sunbracers is such a good exotic but it is held back by this "feature".

    Posted: 27 Nov 2019 02:12 PM PST

In D1 the DoT of AoE grenades stacked so in situations where you had two solar grenades or you had fast cooldowns, you could dump all your grenades on a Boss and each individual grenade would do damage.

In D2 this doesn't happen**,** when multiple grenades are on a target, only one grenade does damage to the target per player.

It's infuriating that this takes away from Sunbracers as it can only be as potent for ad clear since solar grenades can't stack their damage.

Edit: I now realize that Touch of Flame + Viking Funeral was stacking and not the grenade damage itself back in D1, my point still stands. Despite all the utility grenades now possess(like Oppresisve Darkness), they are just not as strong on their own as they were in D1 (in PvE).

My best shot at recreating the Khvostov 7G-02

    Posted: 27 Nov 2019 12:49 PM PST

Did my best to build an IRL version of the Khvostov auto rifle.

It was a struggle to find all the right parts and I definitely had to make some compromises but I think it turned out pretty well.

    Posted: 27 Nov 2019 07:06 AM PST

Pros: Tracks enemy who damages you, grants immediate health regen and overshield when you kill them.

Cons: Ugliest damn armor in Destiny history and this is a fashion RPG

Conclusion: I'm not sure I can actually use it.

Massive Breakdown of the Altars of Sorrow Weapons (Including Stats, Times-to-Kill, and Recommended Perks)

    Posted: 27 Nov 2019 08:59 AM PST

If you'd like to hear more in-depth discussion, check out the Massive Breakdown Podcast!

    Several Things to Note:

    • This is not a comprehensive list of every perk available in the pools, just the ones I recommend.

    • Classes are broken down into Impact Archetypes.

    • These are strictly my opinions, so I'm very aware that a lot of people will probably disagree with them.

    • The Bolded Perk/Perks in each slot mean that I recommend using them the most. If there are no bolded perks, it means that I feel any of the listed perks are fine to use in the slot.

    • Pros and Cons are determined by comparing weapons within the same class, not by all weapons in general, and not by only the weapons within the archetype. If you would like a different or more specific comparison than what I have listed, feel free to ask and I can provide one in the comments.

    Sniper Rifle

    Rapid-Fire

    Apostate - Energy (Arc)

Pros - High reload speed, mag size, inventory, handling, aims assist. Low base zoom.

    Neutral - Average stability.

    Cons - Low range.

    • Time-Between-Shots: 0.43s
    • Rate of Fire: 140
    • Impact: 55 (326 crit, 101 body)
    • Range: 42
    • Stability: 47
    • Reload Speed: 66
    • Handling: 69
    • Inventory: 51
    • Aim Assist: 73
    • Mag Size: 5
    • Zoom: 40

    Recommended Perks:

    • Barrels - Fluted Barrel, Arrowhead Brake, Corkscrew Rifling, Hammer-Forged Rifling, Smallbore, Polygonal Rifling
    • Magazine - Accurized Rounds, Tactical Mag, Steady Rounds, Flared Magwell
    • Trait 1 - Moving Target, Firmly Planted, Outlaw
    • Trait 2 - Quickdraw/Snapshot Sights Box Breathing, Rapid-Hit

    Curated Perks:

    • Barrels - Fluted Barrel
    • Magazine - Accurized Rounds, Extended Mag
    • Trait 1 - Shield Disorient
    • Trait 2 - Rapid Hit

If you liked the Omniscient Eye from Gardens of Salvation, but wished it had just a bit better roll for PvP, this is absolutely the gun for you! With high reload speed, mag size, inventory, handling, and aim assist, not to mention low zoom, the only real drawback to this weapon is the base range (which is par for the course for Rapid-Fire snipers). Let's compare it to one of the current best 140 RPM PvP snipers, The Supremacy: Apostate has more range and stability, slightly higher reload and handling speeds, more inventory, the same zoom and mag size, and the only worse stat is 4 less aim assist. Long story short, this thing is good.

In terms of perks, let's talk traits first because this gun is capable of rolling what I consider a PvP god-roll: Moving Target and Quickdraw (or Snapshot). If you get Quickdraw in the second trait slot you may be okay with not using a handling barrel perk, in which case Hammer-Forged Rifling could be your go to. If you get Snapshot Sights, however, I highly recommend stacking more handling on top of that, so you'd want Fluted Barrel or Arrowhead Brake (or even Corkscrew Rifling in a pinch). For the magazine slot, I always try to take Accurized Rounds on PvP Rapid-Fire snipers because you can definitely feel the increase in accuracy at longer distances. If you don't want Moving Target, Firmly Planted has some uses, but I personally find it hard to take advantage of, whereas Moving Target is a wonderful passive perk.

Definitely rate this gun as a must have for PvP snipers.

    Shotgun

    Precision Slug

    Blasphemer - Kinetic

Pros - High range and inventory. Above average aim assist.

Neutral - Average mag size, stability, and handling.

Cons - Below average reload speed.

    • Time-Between-Shots: 0.93s
    • Rate of Fire: 65
    • Impact: 70 (258 crit, 147 body)
    • Range: 62
    • Stability: 46
    • Reload Speed: 49
    • Handling: 49
    • Inventory: 48
    • Aim Assist: 61
    • Mag Size: 6

    Recommended Random Perks:

    • Barrels - Hammer-Forged Rifling, Corkscrew Rifling, Arrowhead Brake, Smallbore,
    • Magazine - Accurized Rounds/Assault Mag, Light Mag, Tactical Mag, Appended Mag
    • Trait 1 - Quickdraw, Auto-Loading Holster, Snapshot Sights, Outlaw
    • Trait 2 - Opening Shot/Swashbuckler, Hip-Fire Grip

    Curated Perks:

    • Barrels - Hammer-Forged Rifling
    • Magazine - Accurized Rounds, High Caliber Rounds
    • Trait 1 - Quickdraw
    • Trait 2 - Opening Shot

So excited to finally see a Kinetic Slug Shotgun! This gun is basically the closest you can get to Chaperone without sacrificing an exotic slot. Stat-wise it actually is closer to Chaperone that it is its legendary counterparts, as it trades the high base handling that most Precision Slugs have for higher aim assist, sitting nearly double the next closest competitor (61 compared to 35 with Good Bone Structure). The range is still high enough to give you the maximum 1-hit kill distance with only a single range perk, but keep in mind that range also serves to narrow the accuracy cone (which means your shot is less likely to deflect away from center and miss the target) and pushes out the aim assist fall off, which is vitally important for single hit kill weapons like slug shotties. As such, if you get Quickdraw in the first trait slot, I wouldn't fault you at all for doubling up on range and taking Hammer-Forged Rifling and Accurized rounds, should you get them (like in the curated roll). That being said, something to look out for is Assault Mag in the magazine slot, which brings the RPM up to 75 and takes the two shot time from 0.93s to 0.80s, which is a very nice increase. I would not be upset in any world nabbing Hammer-Forged Rifling with Assault Mag, Quickdraw, and Opening Shot. Opening Shot in the last slot doesn't really have any competition in terms of how useful it is for slug shotties, but I do have to toss my recommendation for Swashbuckler into the ring, considering that at 5 stacks (following a melee kill) it will allow you to kill in a single body shot. Titans using Shoulder Charge, you're welcome.

Highly recommend this weapon for anyone who loves the Chaperone but wants a legendary alternative, or just loves slug shotties in general, and the curated roll is pretty nearly perfect as well.

    Rocket Launcher

    Aggressive

    Heretic - Heavy (Arc)

Pros - High velocity. Very high reload speed.

    Neutral - Average mag size.

Cons - Low blast radius, stability, and handling. Below average inventory.

    • Rate of Fire: 25
    • Blast Radius: 60
    • Velocity: 81
    • Stability: 33
    • Reload Speed: 62
    • Handling: 31
    • Inventory: 32
    • Mag Size: 1

    Recommended PvP Perks:

    • Barrels - Volatile Launch, Confined Launch, Linear Compensator, Quick Launch, Smart Drift Control
    • Magazine - Black Powder, High Velocity Rounds, Alloy Casing
    • Trait 1 - Rangefinder, Snapshot Sights
    • Trait 2 - Cluster Bomb, Quickdraw, Ambitious Assassin

    Recommended PvE Perks:

    • Barrels - Hard Launch, Quick Launch, Linear Compensator, Smart Drift Control
    • Magazine - Impact Casing, High Velocity Rounds, Alloy Casing, Implosion Rounds, Black Powder
    • Trait 1 - Demolitionist, Rangefinder
    • Trait 2 - Cluster Bomb, Ambitious Assassin, Quickdraw

    Curated Perks:

    • Barrels - Volatile Launch (PvP)/Quick Launch (PvE)
    • Magazine - Black Powder (PvP), Implosion Rounds (PvE)
    • Trait 1 - Demolitionist (PvE)
    • Trait 2 - Cluster Bomb

We follow along with the trend of the Altars' weapons being pretty decent with Heretic, an Aggressive rocket launcher. Not really my cup of tea for PvP because of the archetypes inherent small blast radius and no tracking ability, this launcher actually stands out a lot more for PvE (or it would if legendary rockets were just a bit better at DPS).

It can roll Impact Casing for increased direct hit damage, and Cluster Bombs, which are considered the two tier one perks for DPS. I'd definitely try to nab a roll with high velocity (Hard or Quick Launch), Impact Casing, Demolitionist, and Cluster Bomb to keep in the vault just in case rocket launchers come back in vogue for boss DPS. Demolitionist allows you to throw a grenade for an instant reload from reserves, which helps give you a bit more DPS before needing to pause for a reload.

Honestly a weapon with great possibilities if the heavy weapon classes ever get reworked.

    TL;DR

    Must Have

    1. Blasphemer - Kinetic Precision Slug Shotgun
      • PvP - Hammer-Forged Rifling, Accurized Rounds/Assault Mag, Quickdraw, Opening Shot/Swashbuckler
      • Curated Roll
    2. Apostate - Arc Energy Rapid-Fire Sniper Rifle
      • PvP - Fluted Barrel, Accurized Rounds, Moving Target, Quickdraw/Snapshot Sights

Accidentally turned on Destiny 1 while trying to play Destiny 2....

    Posted: 27 Nov 2019 07:52 AM PST

Both games are next to each other and I guess I just wasn't paying attention. Didn't notice until the title screen music hit and my depression was suddenly replaced by infinite nostalgia. So I said "what the heck " and decided to play for a few minutes ....

I was there for 3 hours.

Bungie the atmospheric tones and sound design gave me such a tingle in my spine. Running around the Dreadnaught of the dead king, chilling out in the Rocketyards, exploring the jungles of Venus. It was just a good time. Even came across a good number of other Guardians too.

But the real fun came on the Dreadnaught. I was playing on a Hunter I never finished leveling so I had some quests. One was from Variks to catch Malok. So I checked my load out and what do I have? A Hawkmoon, Stolen Will, and Ruin Wake. So I head out to the Dreadnaught and man oh man.... I forgot how much FUN the ole Hawkmoon was. Bungie I lie to you not when I say shooting this gun made me fail No Nut November.

The sound of that lucky bullet proc? HNNNGGGGG. JUST SO SATISFYING. Just hearing that "shnnng" made me feeling things.

But man Destiny 1 is still so much fun. I can't wait for D3 to come out so I can come back and reminisce on ole D2 guns. Run around stormy Titan, Vex milk Nessus, and the ruined EDZ, doing nothing but loving the sound of setting up a Honed Edge on my Izanagi's Burden, wishing that it would be brought into D3.

So this isn't a "bring back Hawkmoon post"... unless you want it to be ( ͡° ͜Ê– ͡°)

(Hey if Bungie can bring back Thorn and balance it, they could do the same for Hawkmoon)

Point is Bungie you guys make great games, even as we move into the future, your product holds up very well. Destiny's gunplay, sound design, and location design is some of the best of all it's genre. Glad to play these games.

Applying the Lunar Halcyon Gilt shader to ANY Eris Moon weapon turns it into the ‘clean’ version of itself

    Posted: 27 Nov 2019 10:12 PM PST

Don't know if anyone cares, BUT....

I love the look of the new Eris Moon weapons such as the Dream Breaker fusion rifle, and they can become the 'clean' version of the weapons when applying the Lunar Halcyon Gilt shader. When applied, they perfectly match the Special Specimen ornament on the Xenophage and get rid of the used, dirty look they originally have.

To the people who dont kill champions in The Ordeal...

    Posted: 27 Nov 2019 03:33 AM PST

Bruh.... why? That's literally the only reason to be there, you're sabotaging me, and yourself too because if you run past one and it despawns there is a 100% chance I'm leaving your ass, there's no reason to continue the strike at that point.

A jungle/rainforest planet would be super cool

    Posted: 27 Nov 2019 02:32 PM PST

I was jumping from planet to planet today when I thought that we don't really have a super vegitated planet to run around on. It would be really cool to have large trees lots of water and cool caves like a rainforest. It would also be sweet if the planets we had now had atmospheric events (snow on Mars, rain in the EDZ ect) occasionally to mix it up a bit.

Fusion rifles are the great equalizer

    Posted: 27 Nov 2019 11:06 AM PST

Been hearing a lot of gripes about fusions being a no-skill weapon.

To those, I say, firstly: you're wrong and probably smell weird (like off-brand Cool Ranch Doritos and aggressive mediocrity, I suppose).

And secondly, for your consideration, fusion rifles are good weapons. Not OP, not meta breaking or defining, but unquestionably good weapons. Are there standouts, of course. We've all been vaporized from nigh-on incredible ranges by an Erentil or been run over roughshod by Telesto or been denied a mote deposit by scumbag invader with dickthumbs using Jotunn (might have some personal issues on that one), but they don't break the game. A fusion won't win for you, like some troglodytes who've had their DRB's stapled to their hands, seem to think.

Most of what I get is that people seem to be upset is that by the variety and consistency of engagements in which they lose to guns like Erentil. And yet, when asked why they say it's a no skill gun the reasons are all different (I was in my super, I was too far away, I had something my eye, I hit him with the Duke first, I wasn't ready, if you didn't have that fusion I could beat you, blah blah fucking blah). There isn't an undeniable, common reason can be attributed to this enmity toward a really solid weapon. The ranges can be a little nuts but to get kills at longer ranges is the province of players who took the time to develop that skill. You can't put an Erentil in the hands of a day-one New Light Blueberry and get the same results. Timing, positioning and situational awareness are all essential in using fusions at a high level. I've had the best games of my career using Merciless in 4000+ glory matches, and its charge time is glacial!

So here's a way of looking at it: fusions like Erentil are the equalizer. They have an relatively low skill floor but the ceiling is also pretty high. Destiny needs weapons like this (not Jotunn) in PvP for a healthy ecosystem. Those lower skill players need weapons like Erentil to learn the nuances of PvP play until they are confident enough to branch out toward higher level play styles.

So what if you got vaporized by Erentil for the third time in a row. Either that lower skill player got you fair and square or maybe you just lost that engagement to a player who flat beat you. In any engagement someone has to lose, make your peace with it and move on.

A good gun can be good for everyone. Good guns don't only get to belong to the high-skill players.

Just an opinion. One I'm sure will upset many, I've no doubt.

Once in a life time moment happened.

    Posted: 27 Nov 2019 06:25 PM PST

So, im in a clan of IRL friends and some friends we've made along the way in our destiny journey.

    Well the absolutely unexplainable happened

The same 5 friends I conquered Vault Of Glass with were online and all wanted to raid. I was 14 when I first entered the Vault. So all as adults, we entered the vault all together again.

Oh my god, the nostalgia, I grew up with Vanilla D1, and the feels...

I think we got all the classic weapons which was neat

    And then it happened

All of us rushing the portals on Atheon to do the final DPS

Atheon proceeds to scream mechanically and crumble out of existence and that that classic Destiny 1 drum ending solo

    And then there it was

The Amazing Nostalgia horn of completing VoG, I cried.

And there I got it, just to top it all off, I got the Mythoclast!

Highly recommend going back to D1 and trying some lf the classic parts, the feels 😭

Anyway, just wanted to type this up somewhere :)

Bungie could you add old D2 armor sets to the current loot pool of legendary/prime engrams? I'm sick of getting the Prodigal and Tangled web sets over and over again

    Posted: 27 Nov 2019 06:58 PM PST

(Maybe add the planets' sets to it)

Why is the shield bash hit registration so bad?

    Posted: 27 Nov 2019 08:56 AM PST

This includes the shield bash that gets used while in your super too.

Also, why is it that when you actually do connect a shield bash, it never suppresses an enemy in their super? It's one of the most inconsistent things in a subclass I've seen. Can we please get this looked at?

Enlightened is the most logical and straightforward raid seal Bungie has made and the ones in the future should mimic it.

    Posted: 27 Nov 2019 02:19 PM PST

The new very good things included in this title:

    • New triumph challenges that can be done at any time in the raid and create an innovative restriction to do an encounter.

-The flawless run and the challenges give a shader. Now you have something to show for your effort as well as the seal.

The returning things which are good:

-Solar/arc/void raids- they're seemingly here to stay and pretty fun to do, plus they can be cheesed with some handy menu management so they're no biggie.

-Flawless run/challenges - what would any raid seal be without these?

The returning things which kind of suck:

Clan night- this triumph is just a pain for a lot of people who are in casual clans and mainly use LFG. there's no point in it staying in each seal.

The things that this seal doesn't have which should never come back (thanks Bungie)

    • RNG raid exotic (forever no 1k)

    -RNG bounties (moan)

    • a stupid amount of activities outside of the raid. Killing enemies in X forge with X weapon? Why? Menagerie? Why? I get these are seasonal activities so fit with the seal, but these are R A I D seals, not universal activity seals. With undying and enlightened being separate this is a great way to make the raid seal actually the raid seal.

To conclude, Enlightened is an almost perfect seal. Bungie, make every raid seal like this in future.

My old clan (very casual) is going to run the Last Wish tonight. Two people (including me) have ever beaten it. My predictions:

    Posted: 27 Nov 2019 10:43 AM PST

It will take an hour to assemble the team.

There will be six falling deaths getting to the first encounter.

The Kalli encounter will be triggered twice before the encounter is explained.

No one will remember their number for the doors in the first run (except for me).

We will eventually beat Kalli after eighty minutes.

There will be five falling deaths at the bridge, after which at least two people will call it a night.

There is a zero percent chance that we will beat Shuro Chi.

That said, I'm sure we'll all have a blast!

Edit: Well, we did have a blast. We did not beat Kalli. The guy who was instructing decided to assign everyone numbers- that wasn't the problem, the problem was that people were not recognizing when it was time to enter the doors (I told them there is an audio cue and a message to the left, but they got caught up in trying to do damage and often missed entering the doors). And as they are casual, they didn't have good guns for damage, so at most we got her down to 50%.

But that's okay- they learned the mechanics, know what to do now, and all had a good time.

Eternal Warrior should turn Fists of Havoc into D1 Fist of Havoc

    Posted: 27 Nov 2019 10:45 AM PST

Treat it like Titans' Celestial Nighthawk. Fist of Havoc deals more significantly damage in a bigger radius, but it no longer roams.

Dear Bungie, I don't know if you're aware but armor 2.0. "broke" some armor pieces visually

    Posted: 27 Nov 2019 09:31 PM PST

Namely the Lost Pacific chest piece for hunters and the Kairos Function chest/helmet. There might be more examples, but these are the only ones I could find.

What's wrong with these pieces is that the triangle shapes that once used to glow and change color depending on the shader no longer do so and have been replaced by a blue/jade colored slab. That's as far as the Kairos Function pieces go. The chest display on the Lost Pacific vest has been replaced by a solid color too. I have linked an image to show you what I'm talking about down below.

I have checked the titan/warlock counterparts for these pieces and they're working as they should, meaning this is a hunter-only issue. Now, this should hardly be on anyone's list of priorities to fix, but it does go against the whole "customize your character they way you want" idea behind armor 2.0. Again, not an actual issue, but I'm just throwing it out there in case it hasn't been noticed which I'm sure it should've been by now.

    Here's the problem I described.
