This week at Bungie, a celebration is coming to a close.

We're entering the final stretch of Festival of the Lost. Eva Levante has been dishing out treats for weeks, but she's got a final trick up her sleeve. We won't spoil the fun, though. That's for you to discover on your own.

If you haven't collected all of your masks or completed your Triumphs, you have until the reset on Tuesday, November 19 to fill out your collection. Momentum Control will be available through the end of the event, so if you're looking to round out your Jade Rabbit catalyst, get to it. Momentum will be on rotation again in the future, so stay tuned for announcements.

Throughout the event, we've been sharing our favorite Guardian costumes. Here's a quick roundup of the fun. If you have any last-minute submissions in hopes of earning the Levante Prize emblem, be sure to submit your costume to the Creations page on Bungie.net.

    A Global Community

To ensure every Guardian feels at home, we've been putting more focus on Destiny's global community. No matter your locale, your voice is important to us. What began with region specific Twitter accounts has evolved into a new community initiative. This week, we'd like to take the opportunity to introduce the first two international members on the Community team.

    Loïc:

"Bonjour", Guardians! Epyon here. I'm the French Community Manager, which means that not only will I have the pleasure to serve the Guardians from France, but also to provide proper bread to Dmg04. And when I say "proper bread", I obviously mean "French bread". Beside all the usual French clichés, what can I tell you? Until very recently, I was a journalist, working at Jeuxvideo.com, the main video game media here in France. Among many other things, I've been reporting on Bungie and Destiny for more than six years now, which is pretty amazing given that this is mostly because of another Bungie creation that I once chose to write about. You know, that big dude with the green armor, who blows up ring worlds... I also had the privilege to co-host the French version of Fireteam Chat ("Escouade Chat" in French). And because it seems that I never had enough of Bungie, I even wrote a book that came out last year. And now, this? Joining Bungie? Life's crazy, friends.

My dear fellow French Guardians: we'll have many things to talk about in the coming weeks and months. I know you're all over the internet, gathered through Facebook groups, Discord channels, and so on. I'll come and find you, wherever you are to talk with you, and hear what you have to say about the game we all love so much. In the same time, be sure to make Bungie.net's forum your home. At least, another one. Use the checkbox, choose "French" as your language, and... "voilà !" I'll be there, reading, answering, and amplifying your voice at the studio. No matter what, don't hesitate to hit me up on Twitter (@Epyonzilla). Even if you're a Hunter or a Warlock.

Préparatifs pour la semaine prochaine... Brise-soleil prêt au combat ! pic.twitter.com/6RLBORMH4j

    — Loïc Ralet / Epyon (@Epyonzilla) November 13, 2019

    See you starside!

    Maurice:

Hi folks! My name is Maurice and I'll be taking care of the German-speaking part of our community from now on. Some of you might know me as the former editor-in-chief and host of Inside PlayStation, and as one of the more vocal Destiny fans in the German games media. Being able to join Bungie as a dedicated Community Manager for the German-speaking audience is a bigger deal than it might seem at first glance: DACH-Guardians (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland) have traditionally been participating in the community by joining the English subreddit and organizing splinter-groups on other platforms. Our community has been all over the place, so to speak. I'll be visiting you where you like to gather, but I'll also be establishing a unified clubhouse that doesn't come with a language barrier. If this is something you would like to participate in (sorry for the technical discourse), make sure to choose German as your language on your Bungie.net account, go to the forums and untick the English checkbox. And bitteschön: You're now part of the club! Direct line to the studio and all.

    just leaving this here... pic.twitter.com/5ebOZ8b9OO

    — Maurice Zerjav (@Maurice_BNG) November 13, 2019

There will be many things for me to figure along the way and I encourage you to do your part by letting me know how I can serve you best, and where my attention might be needed. Just use the forums or hit me up on Twitter @Maurice_BNG. Let's build this thing together, one step at a time. As you might imagine I am over the Moon right now. And on it – chasing that Undying title. To quote an old friend of mine: THIS IS AMAZING!!!

These are our first two steps into a larger world. They won't be the last introductions you see, as more teammates join us over time. Stay tuned.

    Your Story

As I mentioned above, Destiny's community is large and varied. Everyone is a little different in terms of how they defeat the Darkness. We have heard a lot of stories over the years about conquering challenges, meeting new friends, and the various ways that Destiny has touched your lives. We'd like to hear more! We've opened up avenues to share your favorite Destiny experiences with us, both on Bungie.net and reddit. This isn't a contest. It's a way for us to get to know you better, and to hear about the kinds of in-game moments that have made the largest impact on you.

So if you're up to it, share your most memorable moments of Destiny – anything that made you feel:

    • A sense of tremendous achievement
    • A sense of belonging
    • Devastated or heartbroken
    • Utter domination
    • A human connection
    • Like laughing until you cried
    • The moment you knew you loved this game!

Thank you for being such an amazing community. We look forward to hearing more of your stories.

    Seeking Balance

Over the last year, we've made various changes to the sandbox of Destiny 2. Some weapons have been brought down, some armor has been brought up, and the "meta" has shifted from class to class. Coming next Season, the sandbox will evolve once more. This week, we'll be looking at two notorious items that you may have heard about.

    From the Development team:

    The Recluse

    • Changed the effects of Master of Arms:

      • Removed the precision damage modifier
      • Recluse will continue to receive a damage bonus from Master of Arms, but damage will not default to precision values when the perk activates

Many doubted The Recluse when it was first announced, but it has since proved to be resilient to being squashed. Although the precision damage modifier did not actually improve the efficacy of the weapon at its best, it did allow for fairly mindless spraying to be just as good as concentrated aiming. After considering various options on what to do with it, the decision was made to remove that part of the functionality and preserve its activation methods. The alternative was leaving in an effect we believe to be too strong for a Legendary weapon.

    One-Eyed Mask

    • Changed the effects of Vengeance

      • Removed the overshield granted from defeating an opponent that inflicted damage on you

In a previous sandbox update, One-Eyed Mask received some tuning in how Vengeance was applied to Titans. Next Season, this perk will continue to provide health regeneration when defeating an opponent that has inflicted damage upon your Guardian, but it will no longer grant an overshield.

Additionally, the team is addressing some feedback concerning the newly released Xenophage Exotic:

    Xenophage

    • Increased PvE damage by +50%
    • Ammo pulled from PvP crates has been increased to 4/6 from 3/4 from shared and solo Heavy ammo crates, respectively

Xenophage unintentionally shipped a little weak, so it's getting a bump up in raw damage. Machine Guns have a higher ammunition capacity than other Heavy weapons, trading raw DPS for ease of use. Xenophage slides further towards other Heavy weapons such as Grenade Launchers in that aspect but didn't get enough power back. This will correct that.

In the next few weeks, we'll have further sandbox patch note previews, paired with some quality of life changes to things like Escalation Protocol Armor, bug fixes, and more.

    Time Never Stops

    Image Linkimgur

Every day, Destiny Player Support is navigating the forums, identifying issues, and providing workarounds to those in need. They've got a good temperature of what's going on, but they're also keeping track of what's to come. This week, they've got some info on upcoming deadlines.

    This is their report:

FINAL WEEK: Festival of the Lost 2019

At the weekly reset this upcoming Tuesday, November 19, Festival of the Lost 2019 will conclude.

Players have until then to unlock the Braytech Werewolf, earn masks, and brush their teeth (or mastication module). From that point onward, the Haunted Forest will become unavailable and Eva Levante will once again depart from the Tower.

Also of note, during this final week Eva Levante is selling Festival Charms. For two hours after a Festival Charm is consumed, players will receive an increased number of Chocolate Strange Coins for activity completions.

For more information on this event, players should visit our official Festival of the Lost Guide.

    Stadia and Cross Save

Also next week, Destiny 2: The Collection goes live with the launch of Stadia.

In the meantime, we recommend that players who wish to bring their existing Destiny 2 characters to the Stadia platform prepare Cross Save now. Once Stadia is live, players will need to link their Stadia account to their Bungie profile, and confirm that they wish for the account to be Cross Saved.

For more information, players should visit our Cross Save page.

ONE MONTH LEFT: Season of the Undying

As of this week, players have roughly one month left before Season of the Undying concludes.

Players who wish to unlock Seasonal ranks, Triumphs, and/or exclusive gear need to do so before maintenance begins on Tuesday, December 10.

We'd also like to take this opportunity to make players aware that, if incomplete, the following pursuits will be removed from players' inventories once this season concludes:

    • Season 8: First Watch (Vanguard)
    • Season 8: Battle Drills (Crucible)
    • Season 8: Keepin' On (Gambit)

For more information on what's specific to Season of the Undying, players should see our overview page.

    Destiny 2 Known Issues

Listed below are emergent issues being investigated in Destiny 2.

    • Players who Cross Save to a platform where they do not own Forsaken may lose access to the exotic quest for Malfeasance when they defeat the Ascendant Primeval Servitor.
    • The "complete ten legendary frames" steps for the Jötunn and Le Monarque Exotic quests is currently only counting curated weapon drops from Black Armory forges.
    • The weekly Vanguard Strike challenge says that players must "complete Vanguard bounties during the week". This is not true. Players must complete Vanguard Strikes with an equipped subclass that matches that week's elemental singe modifier.

For the latest list of emergent issues, players should visit our Known Issues thread. Players who observe other issues should report them to the #Help forum.

    Sweet Tooth

We've been debating what the best Halloween candy is for the last few weeks, but I can firmly say (without acknowledging the obviously wrong opinions of my colleagues) that candy corn is the absolute worst. To get my mind off of this abomination of a "treat", I've been watching some montages on the Community Creations page. Join me in cleansing your thoughts of this horrible candy.

Honorable Mention: Oh Baby, a Triple!

Honorable Mention: I'm a Titan Main Now

    Video Link

These players, blueberry included, are now the proud owners of our Year-3 MOTW emblem. If you'd like a shot, submit your creation here.

That's a wrap, folks. I'm still on the mend from a 30-minute solo dungeon attempt, but I may try again this weekend.

Next week, we're looking forward to the launch of Destiny 2 on Stadia! If you'll be experiencing your first revive in the cold wastes of the Cosmodrome, we look forward to giving you a warm welcome – we're kind of notorious for that as a community. If you're a Guardian who will be extending your journey to this new platform, don't forget to get linked up using Cross Save as you activate your account.

What bread are you currently chasing for Season of the Undying? A new title? Some last minute Festival masks? Sound off!

    Cheers,

    -Dmg04

    RE-BUFF BREAKNECK AND REDRIX’S

    Posted: 14 Nov 2019 05:10 PM PST

Though these weapons were strong, they did not deserve the nerf they received in shadowkeep. The damage it loses due to them increasing in fire rate completely negate the effect, like breakneck just not doing the damage it needs to, practically making it weaker with rampage stacks. I'm not asking it to be made broken, I think that the two weapons are just too weak, and it makes the grind required feel like a joke. I just wish that Redrix's perk has an actual benefit, and breakneck is just too weak to be used at all.

We don't need more loot. We need better loot.

    Posted: 14 Nov 2019 09:11 AM PST

There's a lot of discussion going on about the state of loot in the game, and one of the common refrains I see is that we need additional kinds of loot. New world drops, a vendor refresh, et cetera. However, Bungie is very open about being resource limited in how many drops they can design, which means any new loot comes with a slew of opportunity costs. How can Bungie's developers best spend their time?

First, let's talk about weapons. During Year 2, legendary weapons were divided into two broad groups: fixed pinnacle weapons and random rolls. Unfortunately with Year 3, Bungie has decided they don't have the resources to create Pinnacle weapons anymore, and have instead focused on random rolls. In my experience, this has been a negative development. I would much rather log on to chase a pinnacle weapon, or enjoy using a gun that is unique and fun, such as Loaded Question, during normal play. For Season of the Undying, we got 4 Vex Offensive weapons, 2 season pass weapons, and 3 "ritual" weapons. (We also got a large slew of weapons in Shadowkeep, but it's unclear to me whether large expansion items are developed on the same timeline as seasonal items.) Be honest with yourself. How many of those Vex Mind Components have you actually used? I'd be much happier with 3 guns that are unique than 6-9 that are largely re-hashing pre-existing archetypes.

Now, let's talk about armor. I personally like a lot of the changes in armor 2.0, but any armor that drops with stats below 55 is an instant shard. The armor that drops from non-pinnacle sources is usually poorly rolled, which means vendor drops, world drops, and seasonal drops are going to be rarely used. Raid and IB armor are what most people will end up wearing if they're chasing stats, outside of the rare and lucky godroll on some other piece. Most armor is designed to be irrelevant in the current loot paradigm.

Rather than Bungie's designers spending valuable resources for armor sets that are irrelevant by design, I'd love for non-pinnacle armor resources to go towards attractive, activity specific armor pieces. Yes, I'm asking for strike specific loot, like we had in RoI. I don't care about my twenty-thousandth Substitutional Alloy Hood with stat total of 48, but damn if I won't grind out content for a god roll on something like the Devouring Maw.

Tl;dr--I think Bungie should concentrate resources on more unique weapons and activity specific armor, rather than spread resources around on weapons that are built to be liquidated. Thank you for coming to my Toland Talk.

102 clears of Scourge and I've yet to recieve an Anarchy. This shouldn't happen.

    Posted: 14 Nov 2019 10:17 AM PST

This is a little bit of a rant. Like the title says last night I ran my 102nd clear of Scourge of the Past without getting Anarchy to drop. I've sherpa'd numerous people through this raid and have seen many Anarchys drop just not for me. Some have gotten on their first clear and have gotten many more since! I should have this gun by now. Its ridiculous!

We NEED RNG protection for raid exotics that aren't quest related. I really wouldn't mind exotics being RNG if we had the protections since I know I'm gonna run the raid a ton anyway. I would actually prefer that to the quest related exotics like Divinity, but either would be fine with me.

Its just a stinker for me because I'm a triumph hunter and I enjoy doing hard content. Anarchy would make some things easier like the solo flawless of the Pit which I had to do without the weapon.

All I'm saying is ya know 102 is a lot of raids and this shouldn't happen. How many runs have YOU completed without a raid exotic dropping? I'd like to see whos got it worse because I'm sure you're out there.

    Edit: My raid report https://raid.report/pc/4611686018470846074

Thanks to my clan of Dads and for the people who keep running this with me every week! Maybe one day I'll get it.

Bungie Plz Addition: Buff Sleeper Stimulant to Compete With Other Heavy Exotics

    Posted: 14 Nov 2019 08:59 AM PST

    Hello Guardians,

This topic has been added to Bungie Plz.
Going forward, all posts suggesting this change will be removed and redirected to this Megathread.

    Submitted by: u/damage-fkn-inc

    Date approved: 11/14/19

    Modmail Discussion:

u/damage-fkn-inc: "Why it should be added: Right now, Sleeper and just linear fusions in general just barely out-DPS a legendary sniper, and they don't even make up for it by having large ammo reserves that could give high total damage either. The quest to obtain Sleeper is one of the biggest grinds in the game, and the catalyst is extremely brutal too, this is a way longer grind than most other catalysts in the game which only require a few hundred kills with the weapon itself.

"If someone actually goes through all this effort of obtaining that gun, they should be rewarded with something amazing, not just a weapon that takes the exotic and heavy slot, and just barely outdoes a legendary sniper with triple tap.

"Sleeper also has almost the exact same DPS and total damage output as a legendary linear fusion rifle, which again makes little sense considering how much work it is to get the weapon and masterwork it, and of course again taking the exotic slot.

"My proposition for a buff would be keeping the current bodyshot damage the same, but giving legendary LFRs a 25-30% buff to precision damage, and Sleeper itself a 40-45% buff to precision damage.

"This would give Sleeper less DPS but more total damage when spending all reserves than the current top dogs in Whisper and Izanagi's, giving it some little niche to occupy. It would also make it a more forgiving option, with Whisper and Izanagi's massively rewarding precision aiming for higher DPS, and sleeper being more forgiving for people with inconsistent aim that can still hang in the upper end of damage in raids and other high-level PvE activities."

    Examples given: 1, 2, 3

    Criteria Used:

"...3 examples (with links) of recent submissions (with at least 1 being over 5 days old), that have been well received (hundreds of upvotes on the front page of the sub - ex. 300+ upvotes)."

Linear Fusion Rifles in general need a buff. Even with a charge time and HEAVY ammo, it deals as much damage as a Special Sniper Rifle.

    Posted: 14 Nov 2019 10:04 AM PST

I see posts about Sleeper, but all LFRs should be buffed (we should also have more types of linear fusions besides Crooked Fang). A Crooked Fang deals almost as much damage as a regular sniper, even though it uses heavy ammo. Whenever I'm using a Linear Fusion rifle in Garden of Salvation to kill cyclopses, it takes at least 2 headshots to kill, whereas a regular legendary sniper does the same job but without the charge time.

LFRs need a significant buff to their damage, considering that it is in the heavy slot. Heavy weapons are supposed to hit HARD, not do as much damage as a special weapon.

Also, the fact that we haven't gotten any new linear Fusion Rifles since Arbalest makes me think that the whole archetype was forgotten. New linear Fusion Rifles in future raids or activities would be nice to have.

I recreated the armor shader system and found out that shader icons will never be accurate to the actual shader

    Posted: 14 Nov 2019 02:05 AM PST

I wanted to recreate the armor shader system through the api and found out that shaders actually use 6 colors, not 4 colors like the icon shows. Shaders also have an additional three colors dedicated to the WearMaterial, which is basically the grime or chipped paint color. Not only that, but it turns out that armor and weapons have different color palettes despite using the same shader (because armor shaders use cloth materials which don't translate to weapons). A big example of this is the Descendant Vex shader which has a patina effect for armors, but a green vex metal for weapons.

I have screenshots of the recreated system that I made here. All of this was done in Blender2.8.

Edit: i wanted to add a picture of what the color palettes look like. This is for the calus's Selected shader https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/592622294988357645/639716180063551499/gjtuyhytgjhujufh.PNG (sorry for the link size. Im on mobile and i'll change it when i get to my pc)

Hey Bungie, if you're going to keep giving me consumables like rice cakes, raisins, and enhancement shards, give me enough space to store them all — or at least let me move more items to the vault.

    Posted: 14 Nov 2019 10:04 AM PST

Title. I'm constantly running out of space because most materials I either want on my person at all times, or because I physically cannot place them in the vault. I'm not min/maxing anytime soon so I wish I could put my enhancement prisms and ascendant shards in there, for example.

It's really annoying that I can't hold as many items as the game gives me, but even more annoying because so many items just can't go into the vault at all.

I made a New Type of Reload Animation for hand cannons

    Posted: 14 Nov 2019 10:44 AM PST

Main video is here. I also linked videos of WIP shots and different angles in the description.

    • This was essentially a proof of concept for myself. It isn't super professional or industry grade. I wanted to see a different take on the cowboy style hand cannons' (Old Fashioned for instance) reload animation by making the gun not fold out but fold in on itself. I think it turned out fun and unique so I wanted share. Not to mention, this would not work with our current HCs. It'd have to be an exotic or a new type of HC perhaps.
    • Just so the gun felt familiar I took Better Devils look but added a hinge on top so the animation made sense physically :P I also tried to mimic the Last Word twirl so the animation kinda fit the Destiny universe.
    • And this is the sketch I did before tackling the 3D animation because I wanted to see if the animation would actually work given the gun. It's basically dictating the major keyframes that I should pay attention to (goes from left to right).

    Thanks for reading!

The shader system really needs a shader 2.0 rework.

    Posted: 14 Nov 2019 01:37 PM PST

15 months ago the community collectively spent 25 years deleting 800 million shaders:

    https://www.google.ca/amp/s/www.ign.com/articles/2018/08/03/destiny-2-players-have-spent-25-years-deleting-800-million-shaders%3famp=1

Not even mentioned in this statistic is the time spent reacquiring shaders one by one. Think about the carbon footprint and time wasted constantly having to manage your shader inventory (deleting the ones you don't like, and reacquiring the ones you do). Shaders have the ability to push a god roll weapon or piece of armor out of the postmaster; this shouldn't be possible.

There have been so many requests regarding shaders since the beginning of D2:

    • Make shaders non-consumable
    • Allow for customize-able shaders
    • Allow for shaders on exotic weapons
    • Make shaders apply to the entire weapon or armour piece (that massive brown IB logo on the chest piece is making me use an ornament).

How amazing would a customize-able shader system with a colour palette be?

Imagine a colour palette with all the colours currently in game but with the following variants:

    • Matte finish
    • Pearlescent finish
    • Chrome finish
    • Glowing neon (these could be exotic)
    • Textured finish

Bungie could continue to develop shader recipes and give them sweet names. Perhaps once you obtain a new shader, you unlock the colours on the palette. We could save 'x' number of custom shader designs so that we could easily swap between our favourites. I'm willing to bet a lot of grown ass men would be playing virtual Barbie on their Destiny characters all day.

The system as we know it now is cumbersome and long overdue for a rework.

    Raid Explained: GoS

    Posted: 14 Nov 2019 04:42 AM PST

    LORE

So a long time ago or a long time from now or now, the vex found a way to noclip into the backrooms. There they found a literal god and most of the vex noped the fuck out except for a few who were into it. Those few began growing plants on themselves and fusing darkness to statues because they werent good enough at math to figure the god out. Thus the black garden began.

Edit: I'd like to clarify. Unveiling states that>! the vex both existed in the garden and formed in the universe independently. Those that formed in our universe made their way back to the black garden.!<

    CONTEXT

The vex are in the middle of one of their attempts to math out the darkness. This is called Voltaic Energy. If left alone, it will become unstable and kill everyone. The vex bind it to cubes controlled by hydras called angelics, turn it into motes which they bind to minotaurs, and use it as a conduit to store darkness, which gives it an orange tint. Guardians can absorb a limited amount of it, and use this to create chains.

    THE CONSECRATION

So like a bunch of dumbasses we decide to do exactly what the darkness tells us and enter the black garden. There we find the Consecrated Mind filling a minotaur with voltaic motes. The mind attempts to use unharnessed voltaic energy to wipe us, but we absorb it and use the tethers to escape.

    THE VOLTAIC RITUAL

We then enter the ritual where vex sacrifice themselves. This removes voltaic energy from the spires, creating the same unharnessed energy the Consecrated Mind uses. We also infuse ourselves with voltaic energy by connecting the chain boxes to a ritual site, so our weapons can kill the shielded vex. After fucking up their party, the Consecrated Mind shows up to protect a different ritual.

Edit: I was originally wrong about what the ritual does.

    THE CONSECRATED MIND

He shuts down the boxes we were using to become enlightened, so we kill some minotaurs and take their motes to the ritual site instead. He also traps his unstable voltaic energy, pinning the guardian in place, but we shoot the eyes he was using to do this. After we stop the ritual, he gets fed up, tries to wipe us, we shoot his eyes, and kill him.

    THE SANCTIFIED MIND

Finally, we track the signal to the Sanctified Mind. He is using the voltaic energy, infusing it with darkness, and infusing it with himself. He is an animated vex statue, like the end boss of D1. This is their second attempt of what they are doing in the black garden. But he isn't complete, parts of him are exposed, and because of this, shooting his legs takes you straight to a source of voltaic motes. We overload the ritual with motes, which starts the ritual early. We continue the imperfect ritual by creating chains of voltaic energy and connecting them to the mind. Because the ritual is imperfect, the mind is vulnerable, and we use this window to kill him.

please bungie enable IKELOS weapon to add artifact and normal mods

    Posted: 14 Nov 2019 11:50 AM PST

Bungie should add the companion app fire team browser to the main game.

    Posted: 14 Nov 2019 04:10 AM PST

I find it pretty surprising that it is not in the game already. Maybe it was a limitation with the blizzard launcher?

But now that the game has steam integration it would be nice to be able to browse, view and advertise a fire team all from inside the game.

After a recent experience failing to finish of the Wish ender quest solo I decided to give the companion app a go. And in less then 30 minutes I had 2 people join who helped me complete it and get the bow.

We didn't use voice chat and barley had to talk over text. It was a simple pick up and go game. It made me realise it's a pretty good feature.

I'm not a fan of having to rely on external sources to do things in game and I get limiting some things with matchmaking.

But it would a lot better and more accessible if fire team groups were viewable in game for people who want to do certain activities or non matchmaking content and need an extra person.

Bungie - Would love a ViDoc surrounding the reshaping of the crucible and the choices made

    Posted: 14 Nov 2019 06:06 AM PST

Seems like a ton of people are super sour on the Crucible right now. This is pretty sad, since this season was supposed to pay major tribute to PVP players that were basically left out in the cold and waiting for positive changes to the game. Few things I would love to have more info on as a dedicated Destiny player (Crucible and PVE).

    • Scouts at long range cannot be challenged by any other primary right now, so it is leading to a lot of camping and slower gameplay. Was that a renewed focus?
    • Hand cannons feel way more accurate (awesome feeling change), but 1) the range has been reduced by about 20% and 2) damage falloff penalties are incredibly steep where if you take a few steps outside of max range you lose nearly half or more of your damage. I personally don't agree with the changes to damage drop off when your gun's max range operates in the 25-29m zone since playing inside of that range is extremely risky to being shut down by special weapons. I totally understand bringing in the max range, but I would like to understand the need for such an insanely steep drop off in a ViDoc.
    • Sidearms feel completely abandoned in crucible gameplay right now. No real place. I would like to hear Bungie's thoughts on them
    • I would like to get Bungie's view on the tube grenade launcher + SMG playstyle like MT + recluse. I consider this an extremely low effort play-style that is extremely rewarding right now. I think it would be interesting to hear their thoughts on this since it has had a lot of feedback over the past months.

We should be able to reroll masterworks at this point.

    Posted: 14 Nov 2019 08:21 AM PST

When Masterworks first launched, you could spend Cores to reroll them. It helped weapons feel more personal. When Weapons 2.0 dropped with Forsaken, introducing random rolls, that ability was lost. It's been over a year now, I feel like that ability should come back. We already kind of got a taste of it with the Menagerie where we could choose the masterwork of our rewards. Unfortunately, not everything can be farmed from the Menagerie. I get why we can't (and shouldn't be able to) just reroll everything on gear, but Masterworks were an added mechanic on top of the base barrel/sight, magazine, and two perks. Rather than make it yet another level of RNG we have to go through, it would be nice to be able to have some control over that one aspect. Masterworks are a nice bonus, but (albeit with a few exceptions) aren't significant enough to make or break a weapon. If you get the perfect roll on a weapon but the 'wrong' MW, you're generally going to call it as good enough and move on to farming other things.

My main focus is on weapons, but it could apply to armor as well. Elemental affinity is a hot topic right now, and being able to adjust the element on a piece of armor would be a decent compromise as well if Bungie insists on sticking to their guns with that one.

There are plenty of ways Bungie could implement it without it being overly simple. We could reforge the MW via Ada-1 and the forges, not be able to reroll until the piece is already fully Masterworked, infuse it with the same piece of gear via Banshee to either transfer MWs or just reroll, etc.

Why are nightfalls the only rewarding thing in Shadowkeep?

    Posted: 14 Nov 2019 05:14 AM PST

Today I was cruising around the moon clearing out all of the activities I had yet to do. I got all nine of the ghost fragments? Nothing. Just a few lore notes for each one. All of Eris' fireteam quests? Nothing. Not curated rolls or special variants of those guns. Just regular ol' random rolls of the guns you get for doing essences. Jade rabbits? Well that'll take nine weeks, three if you're the sort to play all 3 characters at the same time.

Altar of Sorrow? The guns look alright, but there's only three of them and no matching armor, visually speaking. But they're cool. It gives an incredibly generic looking ghost shell, too. Pit of Heresey? Aside from a reskinned ship, all it really gives is dreambane armor and matching weapons - I had really been hoping for spiky hive-themed stuff like the weapons from altar of sorrow. Vex invasions? I'm up to my arsehole in pluperfects I guess? Nightmare Hunts? Lol - do three and you get a powerful reward, that's just straight up disrespectful of your time given how devalued powerful engrams have become. You're likely to find three or four of them just walking to the nightmare hunt.

How about those random champions and powerful nightmares you can find just lurking about the moon? That was actually what inspired this topic. I saw one in a place I hadn't seen before, activated the lad and gunned him down. I opened the chest, and got literally nothing. Not even a planetary resource. Just an empty box.

Like - this is just the biggest issue with shadowkeep and undying overall, is that there just isn't any reason to do anything. None of the rewards are worth the time investment, however small, it takes to actually do an activity, outside of the 980 nightfalls - and those just kind of shit exotics and upgrade materials out on you like it's going out of style.

I don't know who was in charge of this kind of loot distribution at bungie HQ, but they fucked up big time.

Lunas howl should have never been nerfed

    Posted: 14 Nov 2019 03:48 PM PST

I know some of you will not have the same sentiment as me, but hear me out. I understand bringing the gun down to 150 rpm, but the pinnacle perk has become useless, because 150 can 3 tap anyway . Trying to force player to aim for a body shot makes no sense. I reached legend and did all the quest step and got the NF, but it's just not worth it. it's a ok gun, i have a bunch of legendary hand canon that ll rather use then this. Pve wise luna and Nf use to be god tier in , but the perk is completely useless. Can we please agree that we took this nerf a bit to far. If you guys have any suggestions on how to fix or keep it balanced, comment down below.

SGA: You can easily solo 980 barrier champions with Izanagi's Burden and any anti-barrier weapon by tap firing from any range

    Posted: 14 Nov 2019 09:22 AM PST

Barrier champions will quickly regenerate HP while in their barrier but you can prevent this by continuously damaging them until the barrier goes down. Using Izanagi's Burden and any anti-barrier weapon you can easily solo the 980 barrier champions from range, here's a quick gif using everyone's favorite loadout: https://imgur.com/a/fnJM1r9
