Not having to build the obelisk on all three characters feels like a great quality of life improvement

    Posted: 13 Dec 2019 11:07 AM PST

Switching characters after unlocking the sundial, unlocks the sundial activity on all characters. I for one really appreciate not having to rebuild the obelisk on each character.

Bungie, can you please let saint-14 voice actor know he did an amazing job with his voice?

    Posted: 13 Dec 2019 06:27 AM PST

I may speak only for myself but the voice actor did hit the "sacrifice" and "devotion" that defines Saint-14, like a master who fell from the sky.

I have never heared anything more realistic since my time of gaming. The syncronisation of D1 and D2 is outstanding… But Saint-14 is outstanding (compared) to the outstanding voice Standard (of Destiny).

Edit: A few words missing :p

Edit 2: Amazing... I was at work and just came back 2 minutes ago… I openend reddit and thought first "wtf? Why is my Karma score now on 3,626 instead of 51? Anyways, I will try to read EVERY comment and IF POSSIBLE, also to answer :)

Edit 3: Just realized that this post has Gold and Silver gained. You guys rock!

Edit 4: Just around 577 likes til we hit the 7777 likes… Just sayin.

No Bungie, I didn’t leave the gambit match early. Your server issues have kicked me out and yet you keep blaming me

    Posted: 13 Dec 2019 05:41 AM PST

So I've gotten the 30 minute gambit ban 2 times since this new season started. I think I've tried to play about 10 or 12 matches, and only actually been able to finish 5 of them. Most of them I couldn't even start since the issues happen as I'm loading into the match, and then BOOM I get kicked and get that little message saying it's bad to leave the game early. I didn't leave the game Bungie, your servers kicked me out and you still blame me. There's got to be a way for Bungie to recognize that there was a problem with the servers that led to me getting kicked as opposed to just abruptly leaving the match.

If Well of Radiance worked like Ward of Dawn does, where you could press for the blade and hold for the well, then that’d be great.

    Posted: 13 Dec 2019 10:11 AM PST

Title. Obviously, this blade wouldn't have access to Icarus dash or any of bottom tree's perks. It'd just be the straightforward blade.

That's about all I have to say- who doesn't like more options?

Edit: Thanks for the silver, kind stranger!

Theory: The Darkness used the 'Anomaly' on the Moon to corrupt and deactivate Rasputin during The Collapse. Rasputin wants the Exo Stranger to teach him time travel. (Indisputable Lore Proof)

    Posted: 13 Dec 2019 02:12 PM PST

Rasputin, The Exo Stranger, and The Darkness – A Deeper Connection

Note: All Lore links expand from Vanilla Destiny 1 all the way to Destiny 2: Shadowkeep.

    Rasputin and The Darkness

    • Rasputin refers to The Darkness as 'IT', as evidenced in the Lore: Ghost Fragment: Rasputin 4

    • Rasputin states that he 'survived' and 'learned' from 'IT'

    • Rasputin further says that 'IT' is 'alone', 'strong', and that 'IT' 'won' against the 'Gardener'. The 'Gardener' is another term for the Traveler in the Unveiling Lore Book.

    • At the end of the Lore card, Rasputin finishes with, "IT always wins. I am made to win and now I see the way."

      • This insinuates that Rasputin agrees with the tactics that The Darkness used in 'winning' or beating The Traveler in the Collapse and now "sees the way."
    • Rasputin continues to expand on how he learned from 'IT',

"I met IT at the gate of the garden and I recall IT smiled at me before before IT devoured the blossoms with black flame and pinned their names across the sky. IT was stronger than everything. I fought IT with aurora knives and with the stolen un-fire of singularities made sharp and my sweat was earthquake and my breath was static but IT was stronger so how did I survive?"

    • The above statement is very reminiscent of the final cutscene of Shadowkeep. We're in the Garden, the Darkness smiled back at us, and all of which is happening right before a second Collapse.

"I AM ALONE I survived alone. I cast off the shield (turned his defenses off) and I shrugged my shoulders so that the billions fell off me down into the ash (The Collapse). They made me to be stronger than them (Humans) and to learn and I learned well:

"IT is alone (not protecting anybody but itself) and IT is strong and IT won (The Collapse). Even over the gardener (The Traveler) and she held power beyond me (The Light?) but the gardener did not shrug and make herself alone (abandoning Earth and the Humans). IT always wins." (Rasputin believing The Darkness will win because its not protecting anybody, unlike Rasputin and the Traveler)

"I am made to win and now I see the way." (The only way for Rasputin to survive is to abandon Humanity).

    Toland And Warmind

    • In the Ghost Fragment: Hive 4 Lore, introduced in The Dark Below, Toland alluded to the fact that the Hive or the Darkness could have a grasp on Rasputin's his systems, leading me to this whole 'corruption' theory.

    • In the SAME DAMN LORE CARD, Toland accurately predicted the events of Warmind, even though this Lore card was released FOUR YEARS PRIOR. Specifically regarding the Worm Gods and Xol's attack,

"Beings [Worm Gods] that once lived, or still live somewhere buried amongst us [Xol buried on Mars]."

    • Since this Lore card is 100% true when it comes to Xol, we have to assume Toland is correct in saying that the Hive and/or the Darkness has control over/infiltrated his systems.

    Rasputin and the Exo Stranger

    • The Exo Stranger visited Rasputin after the Collapse, also evidenced in the Lore: Ghost Fragment: Rasputin 4
      • How do I know it's her? Rasputin says,

"You stand here now and now and now many times and here I am awonder, all awonder, how you manage it. How do you step forward. How do you step back. Do you step ACROSS is there a world of worlds, a web, and you a spider upon it. Are you searching for that one thread you need? Is that thread named victory?"

    • This insinuates that whomever he's talking to is capable of extensive time travel. Only the Exo Stanger has that ability.

    • Rasputin also says that whoever he's talking to is neither a Guardian, The Darkness, or Human. – The Exo Stranger was none of those. He continues:

"You're not one of THEM. Long dead, alive again, their bodies grafted to powers they and I do not understand. (Guardians)

and not one of IT. The flower eater, the queen of final shapes, that which also inhabits its petitioners]"

    • Notice how Rasputin said 'IT' again, capitalized.

    • He continues with "* (IT) also inhabits its petitioners*", insinuating that there can also be Dark Guardians. Eris was imbued with energy at the end of Shadowkeep that looked earily similar to the animation of our Guardian being embued with the Light back during Vanilla D2. She could be the first Dark Guardian.

"and you're certainly not MINE although once you must have been" (Humans)

    • Exo's were once humans. And Ishtar Collective labels The Stranger as being referenced in this Lore card.

    • He asked the Exo Stranger how to time travel

      • He said, "Help me be victorious. Tell me your secret. Tell me how to step."

The Anomaly, Mysterious Artifact, The Collapse, and Rasputin

    • Firstly, here's an amazing post theorizing that The Anomaly I'm about to reference is in fact another 'Mysterious Artifact' that was given to us at the end of the Shadowkeep campaign. Let's continue.

    • If 'The Anomaly' is in fact the same thing as the Mysterious Artifact, then we know that it's capable of receiving and transmitting signals from Deep Space by The Darkness, as evidenced in the Revelations Lore Book, and additionally proven through the Garden of Salvation Raid story line. We know this signal allows the artifact to infect and induce psychosis among the human minds of those around it.

    • Rasputin received a signal from Deep Space, informing him of an imminent Darkness invasion 'solar entry', and, as a result, Rasputin assumed control over solar defenses. Source: 'Ghost Fragment: Darkness'

    • In the Revelations Lore Book, Firewall is an AI directly linked to Rasputin. Firewall labeled the Deep Space signal as a 'Possible Exotic.' When the Anomaly starts infecting the minds of the researchers around it, Firewall changes 'Possible Exotic to 'Confirmed Exotic'.

    Rasputin's defense of the Anomaly

    • A Titan punched the Anomaly.Rasputin responded by slamming a Warsat directly on him, defending whatever was inside. Source: Ghost Fragment: Anomaly.

    • When the researchers tried to offline the Anomaly, Firewall refused to let them into the site, also defending the Anomaly. They all died as an effect.

    • Towards the end of the Downfall Lore Card, Firewall starts giving the commands, 'No escape' 'No Sustenance', abd 'The End of All Things'. To me, it seems like Firewall's systems, and by extension Rasputin's systems, were being controlled by The Darkness at this point.

    • This exact same event happened on a larger scale -- The Collapse.

      • Rasputin shut down his systems via the same signal on Earth when The Collapse, leaving the humans and the Traveler exposed to the Darkness's invasion.
      • The Darkness infected Rasputin's systems to gain easy entry into the Sol System to attack the Traveler

    Season 10?

    • The Shadowkeep ViDoc hinted that Rasputin will be the focus of the next Season. Everything I mentioned up to this point seems to be a larger storyline that may not be fully explored in Season 10.

    • However, due to Rasputin's interest in time travel -- and that's been the theme of the Y3 Seasons thus far -- I expect that we'll see the return of the Exo Stranger.

    • Towards the end of the Season, I believe it'll be reveiled that Rasputin is actually against us. He hinted this back in the Warmind expansion. Something big will happen.

    • Anyways, my hands and head hurt. Let me know what you think below.

So we just gonna pretend that after a whole year of asking for Thundercrash buff 18% increase was enough?

    Posted: 13 Dec 2019 08:53 AM PST

I'm not saying it's bad subclass. It has godlike neutral game especially with synthoceps or skullfort. But the super is still to risky to use in PvE.

I 100% support the emotional and financial health of the people at Bungie, and I think that, in kind, Bungie as an entity should respect the playerbase enough to not try to wring every possible dollar out of the most vulnerable among us (e.g., kids and "whales"). (aka no more FOMO, please)

    Posted: 13 Dec 2019 02:39 PM PST

There has been a lot of conversation over the past year about both the practices of and conditions in the gaming industry at large, and I personally am in full support of both A) the ongoing monetization of live service games via microtransactions, and B) an industry-wide culture that puts the mental, emotional, and physical health of the development staff at the forefront vis-a-vis crunch and community demands. Put simply, I am fully on board with the idea of monetizing a live game, and I also think developers should be paid well and not worked to death or forced to interact with the unreasonable demands of actively hostile individuals.

With that said, I think its important to acknowledge that this is -- or, at least, should be -- a two way street. Game developers are real people, and their financial and emotional well-being should be prioritized by the gamers who enjoy their work. At the same time, those gamers are also people, and their financial and emotional well-being also needs to be prioritized, or at the very least not actively exploited by development houses. As a general conceit, I don't think its fair to make the (IMO completely correct) arguments that ongoing monetization is okay and that the well-being of the people making the games is a matter of central importance while at the same time engaging in a host of explicitly exploitative design practices. I think if you're making the argument that the people matter most -- which they do -- you don't get to subsequently turn around and say, "well, that's business" when you lean on "whale milking" and FOMO to squeeze every dollar possible out of the playerbase.

A lot of people who play Destiny (and games like it) are vulnerable -- they're kids, or they're "whales" with poor impulse control who are incredibly susceptible to the FOMO/battle pass/exclusivity/"hey, if they're willing to spend that much" practices that stores like Eververse are built on. I genuinely believe that Bungie is full of good people, but I think that as it stands they're not living up to the obligation they have to not systematically exploit these vulnerabilities.

IMO, the FOMO needs to end, and the general cost of items should probably come down a bit. The fact that Bungie can sell a single emote for $10 doesn't mean they should, and if it goes on anyway because, hey, "that's just business," then I don't know how it can be argued that the absurd community content demands and incumbent crunch/PR hits aren't also "just business."

Financial and emotional well-being is a two way street - either it matters for everyone, or it doesn't matter at all. I think it matters for everyone. Therefore, I think Bungie should find a more equitable MTX solution, and should get rid of the exploitative mechanics currently in place.

Bungie, I’m really flattered, but I’m not as good at Crucible as you think I am

    Posted: 13 Dec 2019 09:26 AM PST

I'm super flattered you think I belong in lobbies full of Not Forgotten/Unbroken/4k Glory players, but as my teammates and myself can attest, my 2k Glory, 1.2 Kd ass does not hang very well.

So if you'd kindly have a word with your wonderful matchmaker and put me with some normal skilled players like me that'd be fantastic.

Edit: Seems like I need to be more specific, this happened in Control not Comp.

This isn't a huge thing but I haven't seen anyone mention it. I know it's been asked for since the start of D2 though and they finally changed it!

I'm not sure what decides which guardian holds the flag but probably just light level then triumph score? Anyway, thanks Bungie.

Bungie, Wish-Ender's bugged damage feels AMAZING!!! Please roll with this. Keep the bug, and make it the game's first special ammo bow.

    Posted: 12 Dec 2019 10:50 PM PST

So for those who are unaware, Wish-Ender is currently doing 3-4x more damage than intended, due to its Broadhead perk (deals both entrance and exit wound damage) triggering twice on each arrow.

This thing hits like a truck, and based on the size of it (I mean seriously, look at this thing), that honestly feels like it fits a true power fantasy.

Sadly, before today, Wish-Ender really has been cast-aside by most people aside from the occasional PvP gimmick, and is mostly just a Cursebreaker tool. This is the first time this bow has ever felt like it has a place in the game, and that got me thinking....

Now, obviously we can't be running around with this aggressive-sniper-rifle-levels of damage that feeds primary ammo, so obviously this needs some sort of patch.

But instead of just removing this bug and putting the weapon back into irrelevancy, Bungie, PLEASE make it a special ammo weapon instead.

It already matches the general damage model of most snipers, and still requires draw-back time. We don't have a special ammo bow in the game yet, and Wish-Ender has such an amazing quest and is such a unique reward, I feel like this would be the perfect way to bring it back into the unique meta.

It has a place, if we give it one. Bungie, please, do not just take the easy "bug fix" route here. Roll with it. Bring this power fantasy to life.

The new LFR with firing line deals more DPS and total damage than sleeper with catalyst

    Posted: 13 Dec 2019 11:24 AM PST

So after my previous post about crooked fang dealing more total damage than sleeper, it was brought to my attention that the new LFR Line in the Sand can roll firing line. So I decided to farm for one to test it's damage out.

Disclaimer: This time I didn't use the tribute hall, I used the Soaring Keen EP boss because I didn'thave 2 more friends to help trigger firing line, so I had to make do with blueberries. The reload speeds were all tested on a lunafaction well and times were checked with a stop watch and my sick reflexes. My firing line has projection fuse and a reload mw so no changes to impact, but to account for the reload mw, I used the crooked fang to test the reload speeds on luna since they have pretty much the same base reload speed (31vs35). If anyone can more accurately check the times, I would greatly appreciate it.

So vs Soaring keen sleeper deals 20,556 on headshot per shot. The Line in the Sand LFR with firing line proc'd and a Boss Spec deals 16,926 on headshot per shot.

Sleeper takes 3.81 seconds to fire 3 times (one mag) for a total of 16,185 dps. In that timeframe Lime in the Sand can fire 4 times for a total of 17,770 dps with firing line proc'd (oof).

It takes sleeper 10.55 seconds to fire 6 times (two mags) for a total of 11,690 dps. In that timeframe Line in the Sand can fire 8 times for a total of 12,834 dps with firing lime proc'd (yikes).

It takes sleeper 14.99 seconds to fire 9 times (3 mags) for a total of 12,341 dps. In that timeframe Line in the Sand can fire 11 times for a total of 12,420 dps with firing line proc'd (zoinks).

It takes sleeper 19.23 seconds to fire 11 times (all of it's ammo) for a total of 11,758 dps. In that timeframe Line in the Sand can fire 15 times for a total of 13,202 dps with firing line proc'd (F).

Total sleeper damage vs soaring keen would be 226,116 across all 11 shots. Total Line in the Sand damage w/o firing line vs Soaring Keen would be 230,435 across all 17 shots. Total Line in the Sand damage w/ firing line vs soaring keen would be 287,742 across all 17 shots.

This LFR far surpasses sleeper with catalyst on every category and on every timeframe, all while being a legendary weapon and freeing your exotic slot. Unless soaring keen also uses bonkers multipliers like the tribute hall enemies, poor sleeper can't compete.

Bungie please buff the IKELOS baby, it's far too dead right now. There's no use for you to even run it once you get this LFR to drop with firing line.

Some over exaggerate and say they NEVER see anyone use X weapons but I literally have never seen a person use Trinity Ghoul.

    Posted: 13 Dec 2019 06:53 AM PST

I have literally never seen a single person use Trinity Ghoul. I actually forgot it existed until I opened my vault last week. It's a pretty cool weapon with a good perk. The thing is the damage and AoE of the perk sucks and the draw time is horrible. And to even proc the perk you have to get a headshot kill first. I love what it could be but it's just pointless right now. I would suggest one of two things happen as a buff/rework.

    1. Slightly decreased draw time. Increase damage and AoE of the lightning strike. Make arrows shield piercing round.

    2. Leave it the way it is and give it a catalyst. With the catalyst, make the lightning arrows stack up to 3x and they only require a headshot hits to stack. Hold reload to use the lightning arrows. Lightning arrows are unstoppable rounds.

Let me know what y'all think.

EDIT: So apparently this bow is used in a somewhat larger capacity than I thought it was. Some how I have been completely eluded by anyone using in 1500 hours of playing this game. The only solution is to play more until I see someone using it. My wife won't be happy but a sacrifice must be made.

Sundial weapons can be used for infusion without losing the weapon.

    Posted: 13 Dec 2019 04:50 AM PST

Complete a sundial run, claim your weapon, without leaving the reward selection screen open your menu, inspect the weapon you want to infuse, there will be 2 of the sundial weapon available (one with perks and one without), use the one without perks for infusion, you will keep the original and your infused weapon will keep it's new LL.

Edit: with further testing I tried with primaries full. I chose the sidearm. It went to post master, but when infusing I still had a sidearm with no perks of to use.

Should warlocks and titans get a new and/or much faster animation for their class abilities

    Posted: 13 Dec 2019 11:46 AM PST

Specifically a crucible oriented post. We all know hunter dodge is the best pvp class ability. It's undeniable. Imo it's because it's instant use and great for getting out of a bad play or preventing a death in general.

If titans could just as instantly place their barrier that would somewhat be the same deal. I'm getting shot? Wall. You're coming at me fast down a narrow hall? Wall, and now you have to come through it and take damage. Warlocks could also benefit from a much faster animation. I cant tell you how many warlocks I've killed mid animation. They duck behind a wall to try and heal and I have enough time to go to McDonald's and grab a coffee, then come back and round the corner just to see their animation finish.

I think this would at least bring each class a bit closer competitively. Hunters I feel will always have the best options due to dodge and double jump. But if titans could pop a wall just as fast and warlocks could throw down an empowering rift instantly, you cant tell me that wouldn't be a good incentive to play as them.

This is "Bungie please" thing is getting out of hand...

    Posted: 13 Dec 2019 03:25 PM PST

My god, this whole "Bungie please" and "Bungie do this or that" and "Bungie, I don't like this specific thing" is getting absolutely ridiculous, and makes this whole sub incredibly cringey. Can we please just consolidate all of these into one post? The front page, when you sort by "new," everywhere you look, it's people begging Bungie to do this or that or screaming and yelling at them. It floods this sub and buries cool posts about lore and builds and tips and guides.

Here's some examples literally just from freaking today.

I don't know. There are some great posts that Bungie needs to see, so I don't know what the solution is. But it's extremely cringey just seeing these constantly flood this sub. More then any other gaming sub I've been on.

The changes made to Dawnblade's burst glide are atrocious

    Posted: 13 Dec 2019 03:30 AM PST

First things first, here's my destiny tracker profile: https://destinytracker.com/destiny-2/profile/xbl/Pino%20Show/overview

I've been a Warlock main since Beta D1, so I have a really good idea and feel for what I'm talking about here.

    From the patch notes:

    • Dawnblade Daybreak (All Paths)
      • Reduced the speed of Burst Glide activations while in super.

This change has single handedly made the best jump warlocks have and reduced it to trash tier in PvP, on an already non used subclass.
The other two jumps are able to stack speed while Dawnblade is up, yes, (though not at the same levels it used to be), but the caviat is that you need to use an objectively worst jump now for your non super time.

There's the option to use Heath Rises though, some people will point out, to have good movement when you're not in super. For those that are unaware, by consuming your grenade *and combining it with the dodge* you can build momentum with strafe glide, rivaling the Burst Glide movement.

    *IT'S THAT SIMPLE!!!*

    Too bad that you need:

    1. To lock yourself into a worse jump option
    2. To effectively waste your grenade
    3. To combine the dodge to glide
    4. To have enough space to build up momentum
    5. To actually fight while doing so

Oh yeah, so let me get this straight: in order to have a decent super (and I assure you, non tracking Dawnblade is the worst super in the game right now, alongside with Nova Warp), I need to heavily invest in Discipline to get my grenade back, I need to keep consuming said grenade *and* I need to use the dodge that's meant, you know, to dodge incoming attacks, to build momentum...

Does that seem balanced to you? Was Top Three literally that oppressive that it needed a nerf to it's movement speed?

Imagine if Hunters couldn't jump while using Arc Staff or Golden Gun.
Imagine if Titan's lift worked for half the duration while Sentinel is up.

How would that be? You don't need to imagine it, jump on Dawnblade and try it for yourself.

And now imagine how people like me feel. I've been using Burst Glide for pretty much 5 years as my jump.
I have mained Top Three Dawnblade while getting Unbroken. I have been *enjoying* that subclass a lot!

    It now feels like trash.

I am trying to get used to Strafe Glide, but the payoff doesn't seem worth it, especially considering everything you need to invest in order to *decently move around the map*!

I'm in love with all the other changes to the subclass, but the removal of mobility while using Burst Glide in Dawnblade is the worst thing they could possibly do to an already unused three!

Bungie please, revert this change! I highly doubt that it would break the game and bring everyone else to suddendly playing Top Three!

Edit: changed a number as I miscounted for how long Destiny has been running as a franchise.

To clarify: top three Dawnblade while in super is now laughable. While before it was really fast and had good mobility with the dodges, we now get a single 1 second dodge, on a three that has a rough time getting kills. What people might not realise is that the tracking + super energy regeneration on kill is only found on bottom three. Top three often fails to get kills while in super due to it's effective lack in tracking and bad detonations on the blades itself, and you don't even get to regenerate it should you get kills with it...

Towerthought: We are essentially the Exo Stranger to Saint-14.

    Posted: 12 Dec 2019 09:59 PM PST

We appear out of nowhere, drop information about the future, give the person a weapon from the future, then vanish back to said future without a trace, exactly like the Exo Stranger did to us back in D1.

    Unlimited 960 Power Weapon Infusions

    Posted: 13 Dec 2019 05:15 AM PST

If you still have the Legend of Acrius questline where you can pull an unfinished Legend of Acrius for 500 Glimmer, you can just pull the Weapon over and over and Infuse it with your Power Weapons.

It Drops on Level, so as long as you hit 960 on that character, it will also be 960.
