Without complaining as much, the main feedback is core activities need a MAJOR XP buff to compete with bounty farming.

    Posted: 26 Dec 2019 09:02 AM PST

We need to be rewarded more for PLAYING THE GAME, not managing inventory to synergise bounties and xp farm. The main thing we want is to feel like the activities we want to play feel worthwhile.

Currently, the most challenging activities (Nightfalls + Raids) reward less than 1 or 2 bounties.

Why would I play these activities and invest my time into them if it's faster to farm dawning bounties in order to get high stat armor and sick looking ornaments?

People feel obligated to farm bounties over playing what they want to play destiny for. And that's the problem, people fear missing out on the high tiers of battle pass due to having other ideas on what they want to play.

Less focus on bounties as a source for XP and a better, renewed focus on core activities will help the season pass last for time

We need more sources for highly rolled armor and no affinity locks. There's simply too much RNG right now.

Remember, you can take a break from this game and you will still be OK. In fact, it's healthy.

    Posted: 26 Dec 2019 11:00 AM PST

I'm going to get downvoted to hell and back but this post needs to happen....

I keep seeing so many posts the last couple weeks about how bad this game is and how different it is from when people started playing it. That the game is turning into a FOMO type game and that people keep chasing everything, cost of Eververse ornaments is crazy, nothing to do, etc. etc. Fact is, some Destiny players NEED to just take a break from this game. You'll be fine. Trust me.

I keep seeing this FOMO word being thrown around and it only applies to people that seriously! need to take a break. If you've ever had kids you'll understand that FOMO is incredibly strong in children. They try to stay up as late as their parents, they never want to leave a room that's got action going on in it. And hilariously enough, kids will take the quickest bathroom breaks you've ever seen. Hell, that might not even wipe to try and get back into the action of everything. Take a break. Its unhealthy

I'm a hard core Destiny player since D1 launch and there's TONS of things in this game I just don't have time to get, and that's fine. I'm fine. It will be OK. Instead, I focus on the things I really want and chase after that.....not everything because that's impossible.

If you're burned out, play something else. Chasing everything, not only in the game but in life in generally, is just setting yourself up for disappointment. Bungie has created a fantastic game (my favorite of all time, actually) and video games are a form of entertainment. If Destiny is not entertaining you, you should question why you still play it instead of finding entertainment in something else.

Remember, it's OK to take a break.

Edit: it appears people are taking my post negatively when I was just trying to say to take a break if Destiny wasn't being entertaining anymore and more of a chore. That's all. I understand the frustrations but sometimes it's good to just take a break and enjoy something else.

    Edit: thx for the platinum!

    What is happening to Destiny?

    Posted: 26 Dec 2019 02:17 AM PST

This is just becoming too weird.

I don't feel like I'm playing the same game anymore.

I used to play ever since D1 launch. Played throughout the whole thing without taking breaks. Started D2 at launch took a break after CoO and then came back the day forsaken dropped and was pretty proud of how the game was. Even the seasons were amazing, i personally loved Season of the Forge which includes the cosmetics that came into the seasonal engram. Noticing how well the game improved i forked over some money for engrams cuz i felt hey the guys at bungie deserve it. Season of the Drifter came, pretty good fan of gambit. Another seasonal engram, i farmed the whole season and got every item in it. Then stuff started to become weird after Season of Opulence and Shadowkeep.

The powerful engram farm was pretty good prior to these seasons. Used to start by doing the 3 heroic story missions for my first reward. Gives you this nostalgic feel of when you played this missions the first time.

Then i'd do the flashpoint missions and some public events. Also a nice thing to do since i usually raid 24/7

Then Hey i have 3 raids i can do for powerfuls, Last Wish my all time favorite, Scourge of the Past with the most fun encounter, the sparrow race AND TANKS WHO DOESNT LIKE TANKS. And Crown of Sorrow for the occasional rage at the guy who isn't clearing adds with the buff.

    And it all felt REWARDING

What happened now? All I can do now is bounties and bounties and bounties and bounties.

Old raids? Useless, don't tell me you can get higher stated gear from it because I can do it even faster in Iron Banner.

Heroic Story Missions? Useless, you'd be wasting your time instead of doing bounties to rank up your seasonal rank.

Garden of Salvation only raid granting Pinnacle Gear? So what, I have like 23 clears, I'm going to be very honest, I'm bored, it feels like raiding now is a chore instead of the amazing fun i used to have even while playing with strangers. Laughing all night over a bug or not being able to finish an encounter "SERVITOR ON YOUR A**, FUCKIN BOOST FASTER YOU IDIOT YOU'RE TURNING INTO KFC"

Powerful Wanted Bounty from spider: Not gonna lie, felt like Boba Fett, like I have a new target every week and i get powerful rewards out of it.

    Blind Well? Dead

EP? Dead, until they decide to make the ikelos armor sets an ornament.

The Shattered Throne? Dead, I do it solo when I burn out after i burn out doing bounties to have a bit of fun.

Seasonal Engrams? Cmon bungie, you know damn well the whales don't even need this stupid "Best of X Engram" we already earned all of them ffs.

I'm so sad this is happening to my literal favorite game. I don't want to quit playing but I'm burning out.

    Edit: Another thing I remembered.

Pinnacle Weapons: At least they felt again REWARDING. Forget recluse, but delirium, hush, old Breakneck, Wendigo. It felt like grinding for a new exotic disguised as a legendary.

Edit 2: Okay holy hell what happened. I literally posted this and went to sleep. I read some of the comments and i want to make things clear. Firstly thank you kind strangers for the medals

Secondly: The point is im not really burned out of the game. I just hate the fact most activities that most people enjoyed aren't rewarding anymore.

Thirdly: Yes in my opinion bungie was at a better state when it was still partnered with activision.

And to make this very clear this is not a karma farm and this is not a mindless complaining post. I love this game to bits and i only want whats good for this game

The 18% damage buff to Thundercrash seems to not have affected much. Stay strong, my yeet brothers and sisters.

Maybe a proper rework of the subclass will arrive at some point. Expanding on Inertia Override by connecting it to melee recharge rate or something would be cool.

Crayon Eating Hammer Titan Solo One Floor Riven Kill

    Posted: 26 Dec 2019 05:17 AM PST

Bungie: please re-evaluate your decision to not keep seasonal content.

    Posted: 26 Dec 2019 04:53 PM PST

Your excuse was that you "don't want the game to take up too much space"

The game barely takes up 100gigs right now, a lot of newer games take up more then that before dlcs.

We want our content to stay. you've turned destiny 2 into a FOMO simulator and it's making destiny feel like a chore to play. I want to stay into this game so much... but you're making it really hard for me to enjoy myself.

There's Not Enough Explanation in this game

    Posted: 26 Dec 2019 08:14 AM PST

I've played about 53 hours so far. I'm new to Destiny altogether, but not new to looter shooters or MMOs. This is the worst game by far at explaining ANYTHING other than run, jump and shoot.

For instance, I'm in a "season". OK. No idea what that means other than I get more rewards for leveling up. But there's also this obelisk thing, which is not explained by anyone, anywhere in this entire game. A sundial. OK... no idea what that is or if I need it. In fact, the only reason I know it EXISTS is because I go to Reddit. I don't know how to do anything with it. I don't know if I have all the things I need, nor do I care at this point. I'm so fucking angry about not knowing anything, Bungie can stick that obelisk up their ass. I looked up a guide, and even the guide makes no sense. I ended up, somehow, doing a "run" in a sundial. Where I was left wondering what the fuck was going on, dying constantly, and overall feeling like I did jack shit... which is how I feel doing pretty much everything in this game.

I have at least 35-40 quests sitting in my "bank" of quests. No idea what I should do or why or how, or in what order. And apparently they use up your total space, so you can't even take on bounties, yet I can't seem to get rid of the stupid things. Or if I get rid of one, it says "go to so and so and get your reward"... which gives me a reward and then another fucking quest. So yeah, as a completionist, this is INFURIATING. I can fathom the bounties, so that's what I concentrate on, when I can fit them in with all the unexplained quests sitting there.

I am power level 912 or something. I still don't know what gear I should keep and what to shard. NO IDEA. No videos even help explain it. Everyone says "just use whatever fits your play style". That's not helpful to a new player. AT ALL. There are chest pieces with void, solar and arc things. Do I need all of them? One in particular? There are bars of energy, which can be filled with mods. OK. Why do some only have one bar, and some more? What's best to put in those? If I get duplicate gear, how the FUCK do I know which to keep? Every time I try to look up gear guides online, all they talk about is best weapons in game.

For weapons, at least there is some information online. I know I should keep items with certain perks. OK.

For Strikes, I am just left behind constantly. The others in my random team are so far ahead, I never get any explanation of what I'm supposed to be doing. Hard as fuck to learn anything or git gud if you have no time to do so. I can't get kills most of the time because I'm far behind and don't know where I'm going or what I'm doing.

I've watched a bunch of guides for new light players. They're too basic - this is how you make a character, this is your elemental tree. I have tons of stuff in my inventory I've no idea what it's for and there's no explanation on the item itself. Like the "Message from Aunor III". WTF is that? Why do I have it? What do I do with it? I have 30 other things just like that. What's a simulation seed? What is polarized fractaline? How about providing tool tips that are meaningful?

TL; DR: this game is the worst I've seen for providing any guidance at all. It's SUPER frustrating for new players. Bungie should have some in game Wiki or something, anything, that could be useful to new players. I spent money on this game, and the gun play is fun, so I'll keep at it, but my fucking lord why do the developers seem to enjoy frustrating people?

I just maxed out my battle pass 2.3 weeks into the season. Why? So I can take a break from most of the content besides getting saviour.

I prefer to crush it out quickly and be done than do bbn it slowly like some many others suggest lol. How about y'all? Where are y'all and what are y'all working on?

Powerful rewards and Prime Engrams should have a slight chance to be a +1 pinnacle drop.

    Posted: 26 Dec 2019 10:02 AM PST

Once you hit 960, there's not much reason to run the weeklies that reward Powerful drops. Also prime engrams become useless. If they had a chance to drop at a +1 Pinnacle tier, it would incentivize actually running these activities once you hit the cap. Seems like a simple tweak that would greatly benefit the game. Thoughts?

Edit: Just to be clear, I said it should be a slight chance. Not guaranteed. This way you'd have a chance at a more exciting drop when running the weekly powerfuls.

Just made it to legend only in freelance comp, this playlist is one of the best crucible playlists bungie has ever added.

    Posted: 26 Dec 2019 08:49 PM PST

I'm completely a solo destiny player, except when I have to raid for cool stuff. I love the crucible and I was decent but not top tier, then this playlist came out and I could practice my pvp skill while progressing towards one of the only prized loot items left in the crucible. Took me two full seasons and a lot of games, but I made it and I actually feel like I deserved it, when I started I was nowhere near the skill I am now. Now even if a teammate quit I still can pull off a win, I am winning a lot of my 1v1's and I got a lot better at shutting down supers.

If anyone is curious I used an Xbox elite controller on PC using outlast and revoker for the most part.

As of the writing of this post, you have over 74 DAYS to complete the season pass

    Posted: 26 Dec 2019 11:18 AM PST

That means 1.35 levels per day or 9.5 levels per week.

and that's if you were starting from 0.

If you have been playing since the start of the season you would have 90 days to complete the pass, which is ~1-2 levels per day or ~8 levels per week

You should also take into account that you get double XP for the first 5 levels per week, meaning if you only did those first 5 levels every week you would get to level 60 by the end of the season, without any additional playtime

What I'm trying to show in this post is that the season pass is very casual friendly. It seems like this community has conjured up the idea that you absolutely need to finish the season pass in the first few weeks, which just isn't the case. Also the casual players don't need to dedicate their lives to the game in order to finish the pass either. You don't need to fill your quest tab with bounties every time you log in, you don't need to constantly be finishing bounties, and you don't need to farm for XP. So long as you're doing the bare minimum each week and maybe picking up some bounties that fit your play style along the way then you'll easily sail to level 100 on the season pass.

If the game feels like a chore or a "second job" to you, then take a break for a bit. The season is going to be going on for another 2 and a half months. Take a break, play another game, come back when you feel like playing again. You have plenty of time.

We are in the third week of a 12 week season, its fine if you don't have everything obtainable yet. Don't feel like you have to do everything as fast as possible, because you really don't

    Posted: 26 Dec 2019 02:34 AM PST

Title. You don't really need to grind bounties for xp like theres no tomorrow, just getting 9 rank ups a week (of which the first 5 are incredibly easy, because milestones and weeklys reward heaps of xp) will get you to 100 before seasons end. I just thought I'd post this because I see a lot of people obsessed with being "optimal" in everything they do. Just remember you're playing the game to have fun, and if having fun means not being 100% optimal 100% of the time, thats fine.

People aren't respecting my warning shots

    Posted: 26 Dec 2019 05:34 PM PST

So I'm playing on Crucible and people started to shoot at me. Now I'm not a killer but I wanted to let them know "hey buddy don't shoot at me" so I fired several warning shots. They weren't fazed at all so I had to put them down.

I'm currently dealing with PTSD after the incident because it happened multiple times if you can believe that. Even my own team was upset but I told them to take it up with command which I guess "doesn't exist".

So long story short, who's fault is all this and what's the repercussions for their disservice?

Nice little spot I found to gather Seraphite this week

    Posted: 26 Dec 2019 08:50 AM PST

I'm not sure if it's faster than running through olympus descent, but the adventure "Psionic Potential" has a seraphite spawn in the last room. Failing the mission spawns you right outside and resets the node, there can also be a second node just below where you spawn. Banged out the bounty in like 15 min.

Edit: The second node below always spawns and resets as well. So 2 nodes fairly close together that respawn when you die.

I wouldn't mind grinding out new sets of armour every season if it didn't cost so much to masterwork them

    Posted: 26 Dec 2019 12:49 PM PST

It's knowing that my sets may become redundant, or that I'm likely to get a better roll via my season pass that's stopping me spending my valuable Ascendant Shards on a full 10 masterwork. If I could get them more often (random drops from crucible matches?) then I'd spend them.

SGA: The season pass rocket launcher Pyroclastic Flow has tracking build into it

In case the lack fo tracking from its random rolls was a bummer, it has it built in to its weapon frame (as do all precision rocket launchers)

Bungie, we need new ghost perks. NONE compare to guiding light and speed demon.

    Posted: 26 Dec 2019 02:56 AM PST

Maybe ghosts can be made to have new and actually useful perks. Even sparrows need new useful perks maybe. Here are some minimum effort quick suggestions

    Sparrows take 50% less damage.

On a dodge maneuver you/your sparrow become invisible for 3 seconds.

5-10% more damage to ( Insert enemy race.)

World chests have a chance of giving a legendary seasonal weapon ( sniper/rocket for this season)

This ghost boosts super energy gain by 5%

Your super does 10% more damage

Your ( melee ) does more dmg

    Your class ability lasts longer.

Assures an additional exotic drop upon the completion of your first raid of the week.

Now that the lunar shell has speed demon and guiding light on it there is no reason to ever use another ghost. At all. We need new perks and this wouldn't be particularly hard to do I suspect.but that is my opinion, what do y'all of DTG think?

It baffles me how impossible Bungie made it to help/communicate with people. Especially new lights.

    Posted: 26 Dec 2019 01:42 PM PST

I had a bunch of fun lately with a new light that randomly joined my fireteam in patrol zone. He was pretty lost. I explained him he could pick up the old campaigns at Amanda, then showed him around the game a little bit.

Since then I tried to talk to a bunch of other people in patrol zones. But nobody ever respond. They have chat turned off by default. Can't join their fireteams by default either. Only thing I can do to communicate is sending a steam friend request. It's kinda awkward. Usually people ain't comfortable accepting that.

I've been able to talk to some people in strikes. Tho I was also busy doing the strike.

So strange that in a game where you're supposed to do your own matchmaking for end game activity, and where new light players are in dire need of direction, communication is borderline impossible. Emotes is all you can do.

    Bungie, regarding the next Dawning...

    Posted: 26 Dec 2019 03:02 PM PST

Please allow us to make blueberry pie for random guardians. That is all.

Edit: It could work like the Boon of the Crucible, where every player gets a slice. What these slices would do, I don't know.

Allied kills from within a Well of Radiance should all count as assists.

    Posted: 26 Dec 2019 03:30 PM PST

You can't guarantee the kill doesn't happen without the health & damage bonus.

Iron Truage Armor should be an Ornament on the Iron Will Set.
